Facts:

Vern--the first member of the Scofield family to arrive in Salem. He was Jack's right-hand-man at the Spectator, handling most of the actual production aspects of the newspaper. He saw the chemistry between Jack and Jennifer early on and got along with Jenn well, referring to her as "Jenny Girl."

Nancy--never appeared on Days. Had supposedly committed suicide when the children were young. Tanner later discovered she had been murdered by Prof. Gavin Newirth when she threatened to turn him in for sexually assaulting her. Nancy was born Apr. 3, 1943 and died Dec. 6, 1978.

Brian--a Salem PD detective. He had a pet dog named Fluffy. He and Melissa dated a little. He was tall and geeky, but in a very cute way. He didn't get much respect around the police department. Jack later tried to arrange for Brian to be Jennifer's wife following his death (when Jack believed he was dying in 1993). He later dated Ginger, then resigned from the police force and opened a dog-obedience school. It wasn't a success, however, so when Ginger was offered a job to write for a newspaper in Chicago, she and Brian left Salem.

Tanner--the rebel son. He didn't get along with his father very well, but had a job as a bartender at Wings. Molly was drawn to him, and he helped to solve the mystery of Molly's dead mother, Genevieve Brinker, who was really Ginger Dawson. He also discovered that his mother had actually not committed suicide, but was killed. He and Molly left Salem for LA when Philip Collier told Molly that she had a future in showbiz.

Cassie--the youngest child and only daughter. She didn't do much in Salem. She was a bit of a trouble-maker when she came into town, but she was befriended by Dr. Marcus Hunter, who helped her get a job as a hospital volunteer.
