Characters
Sami Carrie Austin * Tyrone a.k.a. Ty Emily Bea Jill Police Detective
Background Sami drugged Austin and he made love to her, thinking she was Carrie. When Austin realized he had made love to Sami, he apologized to her and told her it could never happen for them, as he loved Carrie and not her. Sami was distraught over that, as she was sure Austin loved her and would want to be with her. Feeling so ashamed and hurt, Sami packed her bags, hugged Jamie goodbye and left Salem by train. Jamie rushed over to tell Austin and Carrie of Sami's leaving. Austin knew very well why Sami had left, but didn't tell Carrie. He packed a bag and rushed to the train station, where he learned Sami bought a one-way ticket to Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Carrie was in Austin's apartment with Jamie tiding up. When she fluffed his pillows, she found lipstick on it. Very angry with Austin for sleeping with another woman, Carrie also packed a bag and boarded the same train Austin was on, in order to confront him. They headed to LA to look for Sami and were also headed towards a big adventure.
The Story On the Train On the train both Austin and Carrie sensed the tension between them. They were puzzled why. Austin kept thinking of seeing Carrie sleeping with Lucas (It wasn't her, but Sami, who had worn Carrie's shirt) and of his sleeping with Sami. He wasn't ready to tell Carrie just yet. Carrie wondered what was it that made Austin break up with her and wanted to ask him about the lipstick on his pillow. She approached him to talk, but Austin told her they should put their differences aside for the time being and concentrate on finding Sami. They stopped at each station on the way to LA and asked people if they saw Sami, showing them a picture of her. Austin and Carrie kept thinking of each other and looking lovingly at each other from afar. Passers by noticed that and told each one individually they could see how much they loved each other and advised them not to give up on their love. After failing to find Sami at the last stop before LA, Austin and Carrie deduced Sami went all the way to LA. Arriving in LA Arriving in LA, Austin and Carrie met up with a police detective that Abe had waiting for them there. They told him about Sami and he told them not many kids are easily found on the streets of LA, as most of them don't want to be found. He also insinuated that some of the girls turn to prostitution. Some willingly for money, and some were coerced to by shady dangerous guys. Carrie was very worried. She and Austin raided the streets of LA, showing people pictures of Sami, but no one had seen her. They looked for Sami in LA's worse neighborhoods. They set base at a little coffee shop, owned by a woman named Bea. They also got two motel rooms. The first night there, Carrie let out a horrible scream. Austin came rushing to her room, to find she screamed because she saw a huge cockroach. At the coffee shop, a mysterious bad-looking dude overlooked Carrie hungrily. He followed Carrie and Austin to their motel room and overlooked Carrie there, also. The Search is On and Ty is Up to No Good Carrie and Austin kept looking like crazy for Sami, but no one had seen her. Ty kept eyeing Carrie. Bea seemed to know him and told him to stay away from Carrie, as she was a good person, but Ty threatened her to keep her mouth shut and her nose out of his business. Bea was obviously afraid of Ty, as she didn't say anything to Carrie and Austin about him. At last, Ty got one of his men to go to Austin and tell him he heard of a new girl named Sami. He took Austin on a wild goose chase across LA, to keep him busy, while Ty approached Carrie at Bea's. He told her he heard she was looking for a girl named Sami (he heard Bea and Carrie talking about her). He told her he could take her to a place many new girls in town go to in order to find work or something. Anxious to find Sami, Carrie didn't suspect Ty and agreed to come with him to that place. She went to get her stuff from the motel, as Bea begged Ty to leave Carrie alone, but he threatened her again that an "unfortunate" accident could happen to her cafe if she said anything to Carrie. Bea kept her mouth shut, but was very afraid for Carrie. Carrie Falls into Ty's Trap Trusting Ty, Carrie followed him to an old warehouse. He told her many girls come there when they arrive in town, but the place was abandoned. He told Carrie a friend of his was coming there to give them information, but no friend arrived. Ty locked Carrie up in a cell and told her she'd be one of his girls. He was a pimp. He told Carrie he'd leave her in the cell for awhile, so that she'd let go of immediate spunk and anger and calm down and at last, surrender herself to him and work for him as she'd have no choice. Carrie begged Ty to release her, but he wouldn't. He left her alone at the warehouse. Meanwhile, Austin came back from the wild goose chase and looked for Carrie. He couldn't find her anywhere. He asked Bea if she saw her. She was about to say something, as Ty entered the coffee shop, and Bea buttoned up. Austin to the Rescue A blonde girl wearing sluttish clothes came to the warehouse to bring Carrie food. Ty sent her. Carrie begged her to let her out, but the girl told her she didn't have a key or anything. Carrie asked the girl to wait and introduced herself. The girl told her that her name was Emily. Carrie begged her to go to Bea's cafe and tell her boyfriend, Austin, where she was. Emily told her she could see she loved that Austin a lot. Carrie acknowledged. Emily remarked it must be nice to have someone special to love. Carrie showed her the promise ring Austin gave her. She told Emily she'd give it to her as a sign she trusted her. She promised her she and Austin would help her get away from Ty. Emily was very afraid of Ty, but Carrie could see she was a decent and good human-being deep inside. She gave her the ring and Emily left. Carrie addressed God, asking him to please send Emily to Austin. Emily arrived at Bea's. She looked around and heard Bea talking to Austin. Austin talked about Carrie. She approached him and Austin bought her dinner. They sat and talked. She saw Austin was great and was about to tell him about Carrie, as Ty entered the coffee shop. He grabbed Emily aside and asked her what was she talking with that guy about. She said Austin just bought her dinner. He threatened her, too, that he'd hurt her if she said anything to anyone about Carrie's whereabouts. Bea approached Emily and asked her if she knew anything about Carrie. Emily said she didn't. Bea saw she was lying. She told her Austin and Carrie were good people that would help her get away from Ty and his world, but Emily didn't say anything, as Ty terrified her. A few days passed and Austin went out of his mind with worry over Carrie. At last, when he sat down for coffee with Emily, he saw she was wearing Carrie's ring. He yelled at her to tell him where Carrie was. He promised her he'd protect her. Meanwhile, at the cell, Carrie found old pots and pans under her bed. She heard Ty coming. She lay on the bed and pretended to be sleeping. She murmured Austin's name and asked him to make love to her. Ty decided to take advantage of the situation and lay next to Carrie. He started kissing her, as Carrie took a pan from behind the pillow and hit Ty over the head with it. He fell to the floor. Carrie got up to leave, but stopped to check if Ty was knocked out of not. Of course, he grabbed her and thrust her on the bed, about to rape her. At the last minute, hero Austin arrived and saved Carrie. He and Ty started fighting, as Ty got away. Carrie told Austin to let him go and they hugged. Although the warehouse was the last place for romance, Carrie and Austin kissed passionately. A New Lead and Austin Comes Clean Austin and Carrie returned to the motel. Carrie thought the kiss meant she and Austin had reconciled, but Austin told her there were still some unresolved matters. Emily arrived at their room and Austin and Carrie thanked her. They were so frustrated over not finding Sami. They said they'd better go home, as they found nothing there. Emily asked them to wait and asked them who Caroline was. Carrie excitedly said she was hers and Sami's grandmother. Emily told them she met a blonde girl a week or more ago, that went by the name of Jean. Carrie said that was Sami's middle name! Emily showed them a piece of paper with Caroline and Shawn's phone number on it, saying Jean told her to call this number if she heard she (Sami) was in trouble. Carrie and Austin rejoiced. They asked Emily to show them where she met Sami the next morning. Austin gave Emily the key to his room and told her to spend the night there. Emily thanked him and left. Carrie lay on the bed, as Austin told himself he had to come clean about Sami, or else he'd lose Carrie for sure. He started to tell Carrie the truth about the girl he slept with, but when he turned his head to look at Carrie, she was fast asleep. A New Austin and A New Idea Austin and Carrie didn't find Sami or any clues where Emily took them. On April 13th, Austin Peck first appeared as Austin. Emily told the two Ty might really have information about Sami, as he sees many girls all the time. They decided they had to find him, but that wouldn't be too easy. To bring him out of his hiding place, Carrie and Emily concocted a new plan. Emily helped Carrie get into a hooker's outfit. She put on sluttish make up and trashy clothes and curled and puffed her hair. Carrie came out of the bathroom and Austin was shocked to see her like that. He asked them what the deal was and Carrie said she'd go roam the streets and when Ty got word she was out there, he'd sure come to her. Over his dead body, said Austin. No way. But Carrie didn't care and left the motel room and stood on a street corner. Ty Finally Captured Carrie stood on the street corner as Ty arrived. He asked her what was the deal and Carrie told him she had a change of heart and wanted to be apart of his lifestyle. Meanwhile, Austin learned from Emily that Carrie went to set a trap for Ty and rushed right out. Ty started touching Carrie and rubbing her. He attempted to rape her again, just as Austin arrived. Ty took out a knife and placed it on Carrie's neck. He and Austin started fighting again, as Austin got hold of the knife, a policeman arrived and arrested Ty. Austin hugged Carrie and thanked God she was O.K. Ty Tells All and Sami is Gone Carrie and Austin came to see Ty at the police station. At first he didn't say anything, but when Austin grabbed him by the collar and threatened him, he told them all he knew about a girl named Sami was that he met her a few weeks ago, offered her a job, but that she had refused. Carrie and Austin were back to square one again. They came back to their motel room, where they started to kiss and make love, but visions of him and Sami in bed together, made Austin stop and tell Carrie they couldn't. Emily knocked on the door. She came accompanied by other 3 girls of Ty's. Emily was dressed in along dress and looked nice. She told Austin and Carrie that thanks to them, she decided to get off the street and go back to her old life. One of the girls with Emily, named Jill told Austin and Carrie she met a girl named Sami a week ago. She said Sami said she had known she'd be looked for and so had to leave town. When Carrie and Austin showed her the picture of Sami, Jill acknowledged it was the girl she talked to. Back to Salem As Sami wasn't in LA anymore and Emily showed Austin an article in the paper about his mom's "death", Carrie and Austin headed back to Salem, with the secrets still keeping them apart.
In The End Carrie and Austin approached Abe and asked him to help them track down Sami. Eventually, Austin found out it was all a big mistake and that Carrie hadn't slept with Lucas. Urged by a possessed Marlena, Carrie confronted Austin about the girl he slept with. Austin explained he had thought he was making love to her, as he had been drinking that night. Carrie said she didn't want to know who the girl was. Austin asked her if she was sure. Carrie acknowledged and said they should leave the past right there- in the past. Austin took out a beautiful engagement ring and proposed to a happy Carrie, who of course, accepted.
