Dear Friends,
The California wildfires are contained and I'm home after being evacuated for 11 days. Hurray! And UPS delivered my new Christmas CD yesterday. I'm quite happy to have a home from which to send this email to tell you about it.
I've been a Christmas music junkie since childhood. I loved singing in church choir. "Oh Come, All Ye Faithful" still brings tears to my eyes. The day after Thanksgiving, my Christmas CDs slide into the player and don't come out until New Year's Day.
Now I have a new one to add to the mix, "You Make It Christmas." I've been working on this project since February and it's finally ready to be heard.
It's unlike anything I've done before. It features the Little Emo String Quartet and top jazz musicians Stan Martin, Gary Herbig and Gary Tole. Bill Champlin, lead singer for the legendary group Chicago, adds his talents on two songs. "Fum, Fum, Fum" features my sister Peggy singing with me in Spanish. Best of all, I sing "The Prayer" with my son Robin, now known to the record buying public as Thicke.

Emma
and the Gobblety-Goos
This CD is a story book created for Emma Ashford, the daughter of Days' Matthew Ashford (Jack). Emma was diagnosed with retinoblastoma as an infant and lost an eye as a result. In order to raise money for retinoblastoma research, Matthew and his wife, Christina, asked their friends to perform on this CD. Emma plays herself, while Deidre Hall narrates. Melissa Reeves and Thaao Penghlis also appear. You can buy the story at amazon.com.

Days of Our Lives TV Soundtrack There's a new Days soundtrack available on CD. It's barely been publicized, so you may not even know that it exists. It's primarily an instrumental CD, featuring a lot of the background themes used in recent years. You might not recognize the titles, but I'm sure you'll recognize the music. Soap Stars sing on a new CD! The Soap Sessions CD
features Roark Critchlow singing 'Vehicle,' the old
Ides of March song, 'I'm A Fool For You' a
rock-a-billy tune and a lullaby called 'Goodnight
Song.' Bryan Datillo contributed an original rap
tune. Also on the CD: Brad Maule (GH), Vincent
Irizarry (AMC) and Joe Barbara (AW). It's described
