take it and he says "How am I ever going to find out if Laura and

waiting for Maggie to call home, he, Carol and Mike sit and watch
Days to pass the time. The opening theme is played, but nothing is

and he's obviously found a new way to entertain himself during the
day. (There may be a behind the scenes connection to the Days

February 17, 2000--This was the Friends fantasy episode, where each character thinks about what his or her life would be if only... In Joey's fantasy, he's still Dr. Drake Ramoray on Days of Our Lives. There are numerous references to the show throughout the episode, but eventually we see him on the set of the show. Dr. Ramoray comes into a hospital room with 2 police officers and says something like, that Dr. Craig Wesley isn't a real doctor (just as Craig is going to pull the plug on Hope in the hospital bed). The officers arrest Craig, and Joey kisses Hope and says that he loves her.

October 26, 2000--Joey thought he was being rehired to play Drake Ramoray's brother. He thought he shouldn't have to audition because of his own show Mac and Cheese. He refused to audition and told them where to go. Later in the show, his show was canceled and he went back and begged Days of Our Lives for an audition. He ended up being Drake in a 5 year coma in bandages. No one saw him and probably won't. They showed a poster of the title and hourglass. There was also a cast photo visible.

Then the guy rolls over as if he is going to get out of bed, but actually just reaches to the drawer in the night stand with his face away from the camera. He turns around to the camera with a patch on his left eye and Christine yells "Patch!!!"

February 15, 2001--Susan Sarandon appeared on the show portraying Cecilia Monroe, a catty castmate scorned by Joey (Matt LeBlanc) when he reprises his role as Drake Ramoray. At the beginning of the show, Joey comes into Chandler and Monica's apartment and declares that he's going to be on DOOL again. Of course no one has a clue what DOOL is, so he must explain that it is Days of Our Lives. Monica and Rachel are big fans and are very excited about meeting Cecilia Monroe. "Joey gets my brain in a brain transplant," Sarandon notes. "It's one of those preposterous soap-opera inventions. [Though] I guess it would be more preposterous if Joey was donating his brain for the brain transplant." Sarandon's character teaches Joey how to play her character in a man's body. The character is known for throwing drinks at people and slapping them. The two become close friends as they rehearse and eventually end up sleeping together. The final scene shows Joey walking into a scene after his brain transplant, now acting like Sarandon's character.
