In
November of 1989, Nick Corelli collapsed and went into a coma after
struggling for months with an untreated brain tumor. While he was in
the coma, his wife April and his "significant other" Eve Donovan took
care of him. They figured that Nick would recover if he was
comfortable, so they constantly played 1940's records (Nick's
favorite kind of music.) As a result, Nick had a dream set in the
1940's. This dream was was featured over the course of three episodes
that aired on November 20, 21, and 22, 1989.
His dream basically presented
Nick's conflict at the time of his collapse. Nick and April had
married each other to purposely drive away their true loves, Eve
Donovan and Mike Horton. However, Nick had begun to fall in love with
April, and she'd begun to care for Nick. It was up to Nick to choose
whom he wanted to be with: Eve or April. Hello
conflict!

Nick's dream began by introducing Nick and Eve as a couple. Eve was a blossoming singer who was managed by Nick. After a long time, he'd finally gotten her a chance to sing in New York on Broadway. Though Eve pledged to never leave Nick, all she gushed about was her singing career. Meanwhile, Nick was intrigued by the lonely April. |

While he thought about a future together, a spoiled Eve couldn't be bothered to think about anything other than her career. This seriously dismayed Nick, and his thoughts turned to April once again. |

Later, Eve gave another successful performance. Scott Banning also managed to pop up in Nick's dream as the announcer at Eve's opening. He assured Nick that Eve was going places. |

While Eve was singing, Nick took notice of a very beautiful and very lonesome April. Realizing that all Eve cared about was her career, Nick gave her a peck on the cheek and said, "So long." It was only as Nick was leaving with April that Eve realized what she'd lost. |
