1980	--Don and Marlena lose son D.J. to crib death (SIDS) --Don blames Marlena for his death, tearing them apart
1981	--Marlena raped by Kellam Chandler --Marlena gets calls from Salem Strangler on radio show --Marlena comforted by ex-husband Don --Roman Brady comes to Salem to investigate Salem Strangler and meets Marlena when he is assigned to protect her
January-February '82	Marlena first meets Roman. He shows up at her door and throws his sleeping bag behind her couch, insisting he's staying until she'll allow a cop on her door.
May 7, 1982	Roman and Marlena first eat strawberries together
1982	--Samantha killed by Salem Strangler, thinking she was Marlena. He later attacked Marlena, but she was saved by Roman. --Roman and Marlena vacation in Mazatlan and return to Salem, where he proposes. --Carrie arrives in Salem with Roman's "drowned" wife Anna (Carrie was 4)
Feb. 9, 1983	--Roman and Marlena wed --At Roman & Marlena's wedding, the groom was almost killed by assassins. He survived, but Marlena went on her honeymoon with ex-hubby Don while Roman tracked down evil troublemaker Stefano DiMera.
Spring 1984	--Andre poses as Roman when killing Salem women --Roman fakes his death so he can find who the real Salem Slasher is
March-April 1984	Marlena discovers she's pregnant (6 weeks along). Since Roman is "dead" (has been for 8 weeks), Eugene claims to be the father, and Eugene and Marlena get "married." They were going to fake a wedding "for propriety's sake" since Roman had been "dead" for eight weeks, but Tom Horton showed up on their doorstep with a real judge and a real marriage license. That's how they ended up legally married. Roman was in the basement and listened to the wedding, not knowing why it was happening.
April-June '84	Don Craig helps Marlena and Eugene gain an annulment once the case Roman was working on was finally solved.
Oct. 19, 1984.	--Samantha and Eric born (Samantha first) --Eric has respiratory complications at birth
November 28, 1984	Roman "dies"--falls off cliff during fight with Stefano
1985	--Sami and Eric are kidnapped --Marlena shoots Stefano --Marlena dates Police Chief Richard Cates, who turns out to be a drug dealer.
February 1986	--John Black arrives in Salem--nicknamed "the Pawn" by Victor --Marlena meets him at the hospital on a doctor/patient basis. --John has a phoenix tattoo on his back, making Marlena think he's Stefano
May 16, 1986	Marlena realizes that John Black is actually Roman
June 23, 1986	Marlena falls from building when helping a suicidal patient. Her skull is cracked, putting her in an almost two-month long coma
July 16, 1986	Marlena wakes up and falls back into the coma
August 8, 1986	Marlena comes out of coma
