Background
During the first half of 1994 and before, Peter was involved with all kinds of shady deals, which he decided to terminate when things started to become serious with Jennifer. He owned a club that was located in a warehouse. It was the location for many drug deals. One of the drug dealers was a funky man called Leo, with whom Peter was involved. Abe and Roman were on his tail and wanted to bust him. When they discovered he might be tied to Peter, they wanted his head, too. At that time, Laura and Alice disapproved heavily of Jennifer and Peter's relationship and tried convincing her to leave him, claiming he wasn't the person he seemed to be. Laura even went to the lengths of hiring a private eye to find Jack and bring him back. When Jack arrived in town and approached Jennifer, she was very upset, but even more upset when she learned it was her mother that lured him into town. At that point, Peter also wanted to get rid of Leo. He met him at the pier to pay him off, only Laura saw them. Peter decided he would not lose Jennifer, in any way, and set out to take care of Laura.
The Story
On Laura's first day back at University Hospital, Jennifer left the house early. When Laura came down, Mike told her Jennifer had already left and Laura became saddened, as her relationship with her daughter was deteriorating. Mike tried to tell his mother she should give Peter a chance and then, Jennifer might forgive her. But Laura remained adamant that Peter was not the man for Jennifer. At the time, Laura was also dating Daniel Scott, a publisher, whom she met one night. She told Mike she was glad to be with someone who didn't have prejudiced thoughts about her being institutionalized once, meaning he didn't know of it.
Sometime before that we learned that Peter and Daniel were in cahoots. That day, the two met at the park to discuss Peter's plan for Laura. Peter remarked the poison was already installed and Daniel shockingly asked him if he was planning on killing Laura. Peter replied that is not his style and explained that he freshly painted Laura's office walls with a paint that would cause her to go crazy. He then took out a beautiful Argentinean bust (statue) from a bag and told Daniel that he'd control Laura with that, once it was placed in her office. He remarked that by the time he was finished with Laura, no one would believe a word she said. Daniel left, just as Jennifer and Abby arrived and Peter sat with the two.
Meanwhile, an excited Laura arrived to
her office to find the walls were freshly painted, and new
and modern furniture had been placed around. She wondered
who could have done that, as Daniel appeared and told her it
was he. Laura rejoiced and hugged him.

Mike arrived at the park to talk to Jennifer about Laura. He asked Jennifer to give their mother a second chance. Jennifer replied she was mad at Laura for having the nerve to bring Jack back. Peter approached them and said he agreed with Mike-- that Jennifer should give Laura another chance.
A few days later, Peter and Daniel met again. Peter gave Daniel the bust statue and told him to take it to Laura's office. He explained that his voice would come out of the statue and would make Laura lose her mind. He added he'd bring Jennifer to the office just in time to hear her mother raving on and on like a lunatic.
Meanwhile at her office, Laura started feeling weird and funny. She felt sleepy and muddled. Her sight became blurry, just as Daniel entered and gave her the statue. She placed it on her desk and Daniel left. Meanwhile, at the Pub, Peter was trying to convince Jennifer to go over to her mother office with a piece of pie and reconcile. Jennifer was reluctant. He then told Jennifer about a friend of his from Europe who was released from a mental hospital, but then recommitted, as she wasn't able to handle everyday stresses. He obviously told Jennifer that to make her think that might happen to Laura.
Meanwhile, Daniel came to see Laura again and brought wine along. He gave Laura a couple of glasses and she dozed off. Peter managed to convince Jennifer to go over to the hospital. After she left, Peter got a phone call from Daniel, telling him everything was in place. Daniel hurried over to the Pub and they started putting the plan into action.
Half asleep Laura suddenly heard a voice in her office. She then realized it was Peter's voice, but didn't know where it came from. We heard his voice was coming out of the bust statue. Laura got up dizzily as Peter said he was going to take Jennifer out on a drive and then kill her. Laura became frantic. Near the Pub, Peter smiled at Daniel and turned off his walkie-talkie.
Jennifer arrived to her mother's office and heard her screaming. She came running out telling Jennifer someone wanted to kill her. Mike arrived too and asked her who was it. Laura replied it was Peter. Peter arrived and Laura started screaming at him that she knew what he was planning to do. Jennifer calmed her down, as Daniel appeared, too and hugged Laura. Mike suggested to his mother that she had just fallen asleep in her office and had a bad dream. Sobbing in Daniel's arms, Laura insisted it was so real. Later, with Peter, Jennifer brought up his friend from Europe and said she hoped that wouldn't happen to her mom.
A few days after the incident, Laura met with Marlena at Salem Place and told her of the bad "dream" she had. She told Marlena she was afraid she was regressing and was not able to determine what was fantasy and what was real. She also told Marlena she felt great danger coming from Peter. Marlena told her to let Jennifer make her own mistakes and asked her to keep seeing her.
At home, Jennifer told Mike she thought Laura should stop working, as she was afraid she'd have a relapse. Mike replied that shutting off Laura from the outside world wouldn't do her any good. When Peter arrived, Jennifer asked him for his opinion and he of course, sided with Mike.
Daniel approached Marlena and Laura just as Marlena was telling Laura to see her patients at the office and work on paper work at home. Daniel silently said "damn" and asked how the hell he was to keep Laura at her office. Later, he met with Peter. Peter told him he didn't need to worry about Laura spending all of her time in her office and presented him with a pearl necklace. He told Daniel he had the pearls filled with the same mind-altering chemical that he had the wall's paint mixed with. He told Daniel to give it to Laura and make sure she wore it all the time. Later, Daniel met with Laura and gave her the necklace.
A few days later, Laura got ready for her date with Daniel. Mike remarked he was suspicious of Daniel, as he thought he was working too fast. He asked Laura to inspect the pearls closely and she gave it to him. Mike looked at it, as Daniel arrived and he and Laura left. After they did, Mike told Jennifer the pearls were real and again expressed his concern. He told her he wanted Abe to check up on him.
On their date, Daniel tried to kiss Laura, but she pulled away, telling him she wasn't ready for that yet. He took her to her office and left her there. He phoned Peter, who was just on Jennifer's doorstep and told him Laura was at her office. Jennifer came out and gave Peter a kiss. She told him about Mike wanting to check up on Daniel. Immediately, Peter told her he'd love to have it done for them, using one of his detective friends. Jennifer thanked him. She then moved aside and Daniel phoned Peter again and told him Laura was a sleep in her office. Then Peter activated the walkie-talkie and said that tomorrow, at Mike's birthday party at Alice's, he'd present Mike with a gift that would kill him!
The next day, Mike's birthday, Laura dreamed of Peter's voice saying he'd kill Mike. She woke up and assured herself she was just dreaming. She went downstairs and wished her son a happy birthday. Jennifer told her Peter would attend Mike's party at Alice's. Laura wondered why Peter would want to attend Mike's party. A bit later, Peter arrived just in time to hear Mike phoning Abe, asking him to check up on Daniel Scott. He then instantly presented them with a dossier, telling him it was Daniel's. Mike thanked him and hang up. Of course, the dossier was doctored. Mike read it and said it seemed Daniel was a decent guy and left.
Later, Laura arrived at Alice's and helped Jennifer decorate. She stepped up on a foot ladder and almost fell. Jennifer sat her down. Peter was aside, observing. As Daniel arrived, he satisfactorily told him the mind-altering substance in the pearls must have been working. A bit later, the party began. Peter passed by Laura and whispered Mike's gift would kill him. Laura became frantic and said to herself Peter was going to kill Mike!
All through the party, Laura was feeling anxious and uncomfortable. She went outside for some air and Daniel followed. They talked for a while and then, Daniel pushed a button on his watch and a ticking noise was heard. Laura asked him if he heard it, but Daniel pretended as though he didn't. He stopped it and they stepped back inside. Laura was awfully confused. They joined everybody at the party. Jennifer told Mike it was time for presents and Peter handed him his. Laura tried to stay calm, but then she was swept with memories (voiceovers) of Mike and Jennifer as kids calling her and asking her for help. Mike jokingly shook the box and said it was ticking. Laura panicked and grabbed it from his hands. She said it was a bomb and yelled to everyone to get out! Everyone was shocked and Jennifer asked her mother to calm down. Laura screamed that Peter was trying to kill her children and Marlena grabbed her and told her no one was trying to kill them. Peter put his arms around Jennifer and Laura screamed at him to let go of her. Marlena tried to calm Laura down, but Laura screamed and accidentally dropped the box into the punch bowl. She brought her hands up to her head and covered it, as though a bomb was about to go off. Mike yelled at his mother there was nothing to worry about and opened the gift box. Laura screamed and Mike opened it and took out a clock. Jennifer told Laura she picked it up and gave it to Peter to give to Mike. Laura looked at everyone and her vision went blurry. She silently told everybody that she was not crazy. She asked them if they thought she was crazy and repeated she was not crazy...
The next day, Mike came to see his mother at her office. She told him that Marlena explained to her that her dislike of Peter was manifested in her dreams and that 's why she was hearing him say evil things. Mike told her they both knew it was more than that. Offended, Laura asked him if he thought she was having a relapse. Mike responded he didn't mean that, but Laura told him he did and added he had the same expression Bill had on his face the day he decided to commit her to Pine Haven. Mike told her he was just worried about her and Laura told him she was taking a few days off soon.
Meanwhile, in town, as another part of the plan, Peter told Jennifer he was leaving town for a while. Jennifer was shocked and he explained he didn't want to jeopardize her relationship with her mother, as they already lost eighteen years together. Jennifer told him she knew he was just worried Laura might have to be recommitted and Peter said that was why he was leaving. Jennifer thanked him for being so considerate, but said he didn't need to leave, as he didn't have anything to do with her mother's way of acting.
Later, Laura was at her office, becoming woozy again. Suddenly, a fireman entered her office and told her the building was on fire. He yelled at her to go set off the alarm and frantic, Laura got up and hurried out. A bit later, we saw Peter and Jennifer and Mike at the nurse's station, as a policeman told them it was a false alarm. They wonder who set off the alarm. A policeman escorted Laura down the hall, as she insisted a fireman told her to set off the alarm. Mike and Jennifer looked at each other and judging from their faces, she told them she didn't imagine it. Mickey and Maggie and Alice arrived too. The fire chief arrived and told them there is a law against setting false alarms. As Mickey tried to explain to him that Laura made a mistake, Laura loudly repeated she did not and insisted there was a fireman in her office. She started describing the uniform the fireman was wearing to the chief and he told her those were the uniforms twenty years ago! Jennifer looked at her mother and told her she was away for eighteen years...Laura started crying. Aside, Daniel paid off the "fireman" that came inside Laura's office and then joined everyone. Laura rushed into his arms, yelling he'd believe her. The fire chief got upset and said that sometimes under stress, people do crazy things. Laura started yelling she was not crazy! Mickey started to explain to the chief about Laura's being released from a mental hospital not long ago. Laura screamed she'd find that fireman. Mike offered to give her a light sedative, but sobbingly and anxiously Laura said that was what they said at Pine Haven. Mike asked her to trust him and took her away. Daniel approached Jennifer and wonderingly told her he didn't know Laura was committed to a mental hospital (of course we knew he did.)
Later, everyone returned to the house. Laura was resting in bed. Peter told Jennifer he couldn't help feeling partly responsible for what had happened to her mother that day. Mickey finished a talk with the hospital administrator, and told everyone he had wanted to press charges against Laura, but that he managed to talk him out of that. Mickey went on, saying that Laura would be removed from the hospital staff until checked by a psychological facility. Mike said their mother needed more help than Marlena gave her and added she should be checked. Jennifer replied she wouldn't have Laura reinstitutionalized and Mickey asked her what if Laura jeopardized herself or one of her patients. Mike acknowledged that and Jennifer burst, accusing him of not knowing what Laura went through when she was committed to Pine Haven, as he was in Israel. Mike replies he'd never forgive himself for that and Jennifer apologized. All the while, Peter stood aside and listened to the family debating Laura. His cell phone rang and it was Daniel, asking if everything was going according to plan. Peter acknowledged it was and hung up. The family decided not to make a decision just yet and Mike and Jennifer went upstairs to check on Laura. They sat and watched her. Mike claimed Laura might be a threat to herself and others and should be evaluated and Jennifer maintained being recommitted would devastate Laura. They exited the room and then Laura addressed them, telling them they wouldn't have her locked up again. She told herself she needed to get out of there and still drugged from the sedative, moved very groggily. She went out to her room's terrace and bent over the ledge.
Laura ran off to Daniel's hotel room. There, she almost fainted. Daniel laid her on his bed and Laura remarked Peter is as evil as his father Stefano is. Laura dozed off and Daniel phoned Peter, telling him Laura was there.
Later, Peter arrived and told Daniel he'd get Laura out of their lives for good. When Daniel asked what was next, Peter answered "the roof." Peter took Laura up to the roof. Mike and Jennifer arrived and saw Laura was not in the room. Daniel deceivingly explained he entered the bathroom and when he came out Laura wasn't there. He told them he told the hotel staff to be on the lookout for her. Peter phoned him from the roof and Daniel told the two it was the hotel manager, saying there was a lady fitting Laura's description up on the roof. Laura came to on the roof and stumbled her way to the ledge. She started climbing it, as Peter watched from the side. He said to himself that that wasn't a part of the plan and hurried to grab her, only Mike and Jennifer arrived and he withdrew to his hiding place. Laura stood up on the ledge. As Mike and Jennifer told her to calm down, Laura replied she didn't trust them and accused them of wanting to commit her. She yelled she wouldn't let them, all the time swinging on the ledge. She then lost her balance and fell.
Daniel arrived to the roof just in time. Laura ripped her pearl necklace. As the pearls fell to the floor, Laura fell right into Daniel's arms. Confused, Laura kept saying she didn't know how she got there. Worried and in tears, Jennifer asked her if she wanted to jump. Laura managed to say she didn't and kept saying she had no idea how she got on the roof. Mike told her they'd go to the hospital, but Laura became frantic again, screaming she wouldn't let them lock her up. Mike picked her up in his arms and carried her to the hospital.
Later, Laura was in an UH bed. She was O.K. Mike and Jennifer were there with her. All clear headed now, Laura told them she wasn't crazy. She asked them to promise her they wouldn't lock her up, but Mike only promised they'd do what was best for her. They told her they loved her and exited the room. Laura remarked to herself Bill said the same thing all those years ago and picked up the phone, saying only Vivian could help her...
Laura asked her children to take her home. She told them she was O.K. and Mike told her she was capable of hurting herself. He suggested they check her into an institution for a short while, to get well. Laura told them to get out and they did. Jennifer looked back and Laura sobbingly begged her not to commit her. Outside, Vivian and Ivan arrived, just in time to hear Jennifer and Mike, who passed by, saying that they needed to commit Laura. Vivian said that couldn't be and hurried to Laura's room. Laura told Vivian her children wanted to commit her again. Laura told Vivian that someone was playing with her mind, just like the two women at Pine Haven. She begged Vivian to help her and when Vivian replied she couldn't, Laura threatened her. She told her that if she didn't help her, she'd tell Victor she stole his and Kate's embryo and he'd dump her as soon as the baby's born. Vivian acted innocent, telling Laura she didn't know what she was talking about. Laura recalled the day she hid in Dr. Layton's office and heard Vivian telling Ivan she was going to switch the embryos. Vivian was shocked and Laura told her she'd give her until tomorrow and if she didn't help her escape, she'd go to Victor and tell him.
The next day, Laura's children told her they were so sorry, but they were sending her away that day. Laura begged them not to, trying to explain to them what it was like at Pine Haven. She told them she wouldn't be able to handle it, but they told her that was best for her. Jennifer sobbed.
Meanwhile, at home, Vivian was very worried her old pal Laura would spill the beans. Later, at the hospital, a nurse told Mike and Jennifer the paramedics from Brooktree, the institution they picked, had arrived, and they went into Laura's room to say goodbye. They hugged their mother. Outside, Ivan and Vivian, dressed up as the paramedics (Vivian in a fake mustache) arrived. They took Laura and put her on the bed. She told them she wasn't crazy and begged them not to take her away, not realizing it was Vivian and Ivan. Jennifer kept crying. In the elevator, Vivian revealed herself to Laura and she rejoiced, telling Vivian she knew she'd come through for her.
Peter met with Daniel to pay him off. He told him his services were no longer required. He then met with Jennifer and assured her a mental institution was just what Laura needed.
In a Brooktree ambulance they stole, Vivian drove like a maniac through the streets of Salem. They ended up at Vivian's old house, the Alamain mansion. Vivian told Laura naturally she'd (Laura) now leave town, but Laura told her she wouldn't, as she needed her to help her prove she wasn't crazy, or else... Vivian and Ivan laid her on a sofa. Vivian told Ivan Laura was crazy and worked her brain trying to figure out what to do.
As Peter was about to pop the question to Jennifer, Mike burst in and told her that Laura never arrived at Brooktree.
Jennifer and Peter went to police HQ and the commander in charge seemed very flaky and not concerned. He asked a bunch of silly questions and when Jennifer remarked Laura might have turned to Daniel, he brought him in for questioning. When Daniel arrived, he said Laura didn't arrive to his hotel and Peter secretly asked him if he helped Laura escape, because of his conscience. Daniel replied he was not stupid enough to double-cross Peter Blake. The commander suggested Laura might have staged her disappearance, because she didn't want to be recommitted. A call came in and the commander was told the ambulance had been found in an alley.
At Vivian's, Laura awakened and again and again threatened Vivian she'd tell Victor if she didn't help her prove everyone she was sane. Ivan always remarked he needed to take care of the ambulance and Vivian almost screamed at him. She told Laura she'd try and help her, but tried explaining to her of her delicate, pregnant situation, but Laura didn't buy the sympathy act. She told Vivian she knew how resourceful she is.
At home, Kate told Victor she wanted to surprise Vivian, by having her house redecorated. She suggested they go over there right away to look around.
As Laura kept making threats, Victor and Kate arrived and Vivian sent Laura upstairs with Ivan. Kate started blabbing at the mouth about colors and wallpapers, and wanted to go upstairs, but Vivian stopped her, telling the two she was too tired. Victor and Kate left, but not before announcing an army of decorators would arrive the next morning. After they left, Vivian told Laura she couldn't stay there, but Laura replied she had no where to go. She wouldn't let Vivian leave and kept making threats. For once, Vivian didn't know what to do.
Jennifer, Peter and the commander arrived in the alley along with Mickey. The commander explained there was no sign of struggle and therefore deduced that Laura wasn't kidnapped and did stage her own disappearance. He remarked there was nothing but old Victorian houses around those parts and Jennifer suddenly said she knew where Laura was. They arrived at Vivian's and Vivian and Laura quickly went upstairs. Ivan opened the door and Jennifer told him she thought her mother was there. The commander said they'd have a look around, as Vivian and Laura observed from an upstairs bedroom.
Vivian came down and acted worried when Jennifer told her about her mother's disappearing. The search party didn't find Laura. Later, with Peter unaware of this, Jennifer went to her mother's office to see if she could find a clue as to where she might be. She fell asleep on the desk...
The next day, Kate and Victor arrived at Vivian's. Vivian hid Laura in the attic. When they went out for a tour of the grounds, Laura came downstairs and again threatened Vivian. Kate returned and Laura quickly retreated upstairs. Kate asked Vivian who was she talking to, swearing she could have heard a woman's voice, but Vivian insisted it was Ivan.
Peter met with Daniel. Daniel informed him that he learned the toxic chemical in the paint in Laura's office breaks down with time and when it starts to oxygenate, it becomes even more lethal. Peter thanked God no one was in the office.
When Mike arrived home, Mickey and Maggie told him Jennifer hadn't returned from her mother's office. Mike phoned the office, but Jennifer didn't answer, as she was passed out on the desk. He then phoned Peter and asked him if Jennifer was with him. Upon hearing Mike say she went to their mother's office, Peter hung up immediately and hurried to the hospital.
A janitor was cleaning up outside Laura's office and listening to a radio editorial about gang wars in Salem. Mike and Peter arrived to Laura's office and found Jennifer shriveled in the corner, panicky. She didn't let them touch her and Peter carried her out. There, she insisted gangs were planning on attacking Salem. She was very anxious and nervous, just like Laura was. Mike heard the radio and asked the janitor about it. He explained to Jennifer it was just the radio and Jennifer said she had the same reaction like their mother had. Mike remarked there must be something in the paint or carpets that made her and Laura react like that, as Peter immediately volunteered to have it checked out. Later, Jennifer was in a hospital bed and Mickey and Maggie were there with her. She insisted they need to get word to Laura that something in her office made her act like that. Mickey said he had an idea on how to do so and exited the room.
The phone rang at Vivian's and Ivan was informed about Jennifer being in hospital. Laura came down, hearing that, ready to go out, but Vivian stopped her, and said she and Ivan would go. They left, but after they did, Laura left, too. She secretly entered Jennifer's room. Jennifer tried to tell her they were wrong about her, but Laura asked her to keep quiet. She told her she'd be back later and exited the room before Jennifer could tell her anything. Outside the room, Laura suddenly saw two guards and hid in the staircase. The stairs led up to the roof. The roof was just under going renovations, so there was a lot of mess up there. Laura walked around and then suddenly fell off the roof...
Jennifer, determined to tell her mom the truth, got out of bed, still weak from the paint fumes. She exited her room and saw the stairs leading to the roof. She gathered her mom was up there and went up the stairs. When she arrived on the roof, she yelled for her mother. She then saw her sitting, two stories down, on a suspended scaffold (the kind that is used to wash windows). Laura yelled at her to go get help, but instead, weak Jennifer started climbing the rope that suspended the scaffold.
Victor and Kate and Ivan and Vivian arrived at the hospital, just as Mike told Peter and Mickey and Maggie that Jennifer and Laura were spotted on the roof. Vivian fainted in Ivan's arms. Victor and Kate looked worried. The men rushed to the roof.
Jennifer climbed down to Laura, but slipped and fell to the cage with her. Laura's ankle was bothering her. The scaffold was very shaky. They screamed for help. Peter, Mike, Mickey and Maggie arrived to the roof. They heard Jennifer's screaming. They looked over the edge and saw the two scared women.
Downstairs, Daniel arrived and the policemen didn't allow him to go up to the roof. Aside, Vivian was in tremendous pain, screaming it was the baby. Victor called for a doctor and a nurse arrived. Kate told her Vivian was having contractions. Vivian asked for water and Kate went to fetch some. While the two were away, Vivian asked Ivan to take her home, but he insisted she saw a doctor. Vivian told him she had to get out of the hospital, as if Laura came down and told Victor, she'd be devastated, and Victor is all that matters to her. Victor and Kate arrived with an orderly, pushing a gurney and Vivian was placed on it.
Peter tried to extend his hand to Jennifer, but she was too far from him. Laura told Jennifer it was all her fault. Jennifer tried to calm her. Maggie asked Laura why she came back to the hospital. Laura explained that she heard Victor talking about Jennifer at the hospital, while at Vivian's, and rushed over. Peter told Mickey to help him with the fire-hose that was lying there. They lowered it down, but then one side of the scaffold collapsed and Jennifer and Laura were suspended only by one of the sides.
Mike arrived downstairs and alerted the emergency crews. He saw Daniel and informed him what was going on. He then attended to Vivian. Kate told him about the contractions and Mike remarked that helping his mother probably put a lot of strain on Vivian. Victor had a serious expression on his face. Vivian was wheeled into a room. Victor grabbed Ivan and asked him what did Mike mean. Ivan answered Madame tried helping Laura when she turned to her. He angrily asked Ivan why Vivian risked his unborn son's life and Ivan answered she did it because she is a good friend, just in the same way she was carrying the baby for him. Later, in Vivian's room, Victor tried asking Vivian about Laura, but the doctor asked him and Kate to leave. Ivan calmed Vivian, telling her he only told Victor she helped Laura because she is a good friend. Vivian relaxed and the contractions stopped. Outside, Victor was furious, telling Kate that Vivian had risked the life of their son. He said something fishy was going on. Inside her room, Vivian prayed Victor wouldn't find out about the embryo switching.
Mike and Daniel rushed back to the roof. Peter told Mickey to wrap the hose around his waist. He then climbed over the edge and started climbing down to the scaffold. He took Laura first. She hung on to him and he brought her to safety The scaffold began to shake roughly and Peter went back for Jennifer. He brought her over the edge. Then, the cage released and fell. The hose, wrapping Peter, tore and fell over the edge, too, just as Peter climbed to safety. He hugged Jennifer and Daniel hugged Laura. Daniel took Peter aside and told him they almost died. Peter replied he knew that and told him to make sure the paint in Laura's office didn't trace back to them. Laura begged Mickey not to let them commit her again. Jennifer and Mike happily told her about what happened to Jennifer and that there was something in her office that caused her to react the way she and Jennifer did. Mickey remarked it was probably something in the paint and Mike told Daniel he remodeled the office. Daniel said he placed some calls to find out about the paint. Laura was ecstatic she didn't have to go back to a sanatorium. Jennifer clutched Peter and then looked at Laura and told her that if it weren't for Peter, they would be dead.
The next day, Jennifer and Laura woke up, feeling happier than ever. Laura kept saying she was so happy to know she didn't have a relapse. Mike told her he'd personally check what was it in her office. Outside, Peter phoned Daniel, who was at Laura's office. He told him to get rid of the paint at Laura's office. Daniel acknowledged, as paint men arrived.
Peter entered the house. Laura told him she was so wrong about him and apologized for misjudging him. She thanked him for saving her and Jennifer's lives.
At the hospital, Victor entered Vivian's room to question her about helping Laura. He demanded to know why she had risked the life of his unborn child. Before Vivian said anything, Mike and Kate entered the room. Kate changed the subject and asked Mike about the baby.
Mike arrived at Laura's office. Daniel was there and the paint men were just leaving. Daniel falsely told Mike that when he redecorated Laura's office, he asked the painter to do it quick and so, he used a used kind of paint that contained the chemical that caused the paranoia. Mike asked to see the lab reports, as Laura arrived. She told Mike she knew what happened to him in Israel made him lose trust in people, but asked him not to distrust Daniel. She assured him he was an O.K. guy. He agreed and left. Laura and Daniel embraced.
Laura entered Vivian's room later. Victor started to question her about why Vivian helped her. She simply replied she asked Vivian to help her and so she did. Kate took Victor outside and told him Laura and Vivian simply connected at Pine Haven, just like she and Vivian connected in the elevator. She assured him nothing sinister was going on.
The next day, Daniel asked Laura to dinner and she gladly accepted. The happy couple of Jennifer and Peter did the same...
