Julie Olson - November 8, 1965 - Julie and her friends Carol and Diane walk into the fur department of Bartlett's Department Store. Marlena Evans--1976--The first scene with Marlena was when Mickey Horton (a.k.a. Marty Hansen) was a patient in Bayview Sanitarium. Marlena walked into Mickey's room and found Don Craig there discussing business with Mickey. She immediately hit the roof and pulled Don out of the room. They argued back and forth for a while and then they both stopped. Don explained that he was hoping that if Mickey realized he had something waiting for him when he got out it might help to speed up his recovery. Marlena apologized and Don and Marlena started over, introducing themselves. That was the start of a very heated relationship.
Roman Brady--1981--Roman was first seen making a phone call to Marlena from a phone booth and threatening her. Roman was trying to impress upon "Doc" how vulnerable she was to the "Salem Strangler." He pushed his way into her office a few days later, again showing her how easy it would be for the Strangler to attack her.
Carrie Brady--1981--Carrie's mother, Anna Brady, was admitted into Salem Hospital days earlier. She had been presumed dead for several years. Carrie, along with her guardian, came up to Roman and Kayla and said "You're my daddy"
Eugene Bradford --- January 1982 - Eugene's first scene was in his apartment. Marlena went there to see if there was a possibility that he was the Salem Strangler. Eugene only opened his door slightly and his apartment was very dark, so all we saw was an ominous silhoutte.

As Bo is complaining about what Victor Kiriakis is trying to do to the people of the waterfront, John walks in and asks a worker who the best person is to talk to about getting a job on the docks. When the worker points out Patch Johnson as the one to talk to, John looks at him and has flashbacks of him as the one who took care of him as The Pawn. Nervously, John tells the worker that maybe the docks isn't the best place for him to work and departs.
Frankie Brady--1986--Frankie was first seen on the show when Steve caught him trying to steal Kayla's purse. Frankie had turned to thievery because he was broke and desperate. to get revenge on Victor.
J.J.
Bagwood - May 23, 1989 - J.J. was first introduced by Justin when
Anjelica insisted on living with Alexander in the apartment

hired J.J., a pediatric nurse, to move in with Anjelica.
Isabella

and Kayla's house. Marcus is there and finds her. At first, she

Lawrence
Alamain - September 28, 1990 - Lawrence first makes his

Lawrence's villa and see a man gardening. Later, that man walks in on

was out to find a new life. Ginger is next seen driving a
motorhome/trailer smacking away at her gum.

someone of utmost confidence immediately, and Ivan accepts the
job.
Rafi
Torres - December 20, 1991 - Victor is in jail and has called
Rafi to make some sort of deal. Rafi tells Victor he is not
interested and talks about the bad blood between the Kiriakis and the
Torres families.
Danielle
Stevens - January 10, 1992 - A well-dressed woman is watching the
news on Italian television about the theft of the Mayan codices. She
is mildly interested in the report until she catches a glimpse of
John, Bo, and Roman being presented with a plaque. She notices the
ring on John's finger and rushes to her dresser to take out a
strongbox. When she unlocks the box, she takes out a gold ring shaped
into a wolf's head. The audience still doesn't know who this woman
is, but it is obvious that she is connected to John's past and that
John's ring probably looked like hers before it was
melted.
Vivian Alamain--March 2, 1992--Vivian first appeared in the Alamain house holding a gun to an intruder's head. She shot the man who was bothering Lawrence, and then Lawrence said something like, "Aunt Vivian, it's nice to see you again."
Austin Reed--July 3, 1992--Carrie and Jesse start their new jobs at Ballistix in the newly opened Salem Place. Their workmates are particularly egotistical young women who don't really think much of Carrie. A band is playing the Mall and they all go out to have a look. The guitarist is a good-looking young man that all the girls swoon over. Later he comes into the store and Carrie serves him. He wants to try on a t-shirt but there are no changing rooms free so he changes in the middle of the store (great bod), totally flustering Carrie. Later, back at the apartment Carrie is standing by the door when the guy walks past and enters the apartment next door. The apartment where all the piano music has been coming from.
Billie Reed--Sept. 17, 1992--Billie was first seen in Salem wearing a short, tight hot pink dress. Austin was playing the piano at Wings, and she started singing the "Come Rain or Shine." Carrie got jealous when Austin embraced Billie until he turned to her and introduced Billie as his sister.
Rebecca Morrison--January 5, 1993-- At the boxing ring (during one of Austin's matches), the assistant DA Rebecca Morrison introduces herself to John and tells him he still has a dinner outstanding from a bet they had two years ago, so he takes her to Wings where they find out she is prosecuting Kim's case tomorrow. Later John dances with Rebecca and Marlena sees them.

Pat Hamilton--2 december 1993--Pat Hamilton walks into Bo's office and introduces herself as the assistent district attorney. She is convinced that Billie murdered Curtis and will get convicted. She asks why Bo hasn't returned her phonecalls. Bo tells her that he had other things on his mind and is convinced that Billie is innocent and they have an argument.
David Caldwell--April 1994--Jamie's abusive father first appeared in his office. Vivian, posing as Madame Moliere, burst into his office speaking french and bits of english, wanting him to protect her from foreign business partners...and flattering him in every possible way. We had heard of David before this, as he was Kate's lawyer during the trial for Curtis' murder. However, this was the first time we saw him.
Celeste--April 11, 1994--Distant and cold, Celeste made her first appearance at Maison Blanche. Kristen had traveled to the great estate to check the place out, and to meet with a New Orleans Historical Society in order to turn the house into a historical landmark. Celeste didn't say much; in fact, she was downright rude to Kristen. She tried to keep her from touring the house by herself. After all, she couldn't let her find Stefano, much less John locked up in the basement. So, Celeste drugged her.
Lynn Burke--1994--In his frisky days, Jonah was a little playboy. One of his catches was Lynn. Like Justin and Lucas, Lynn first appeared in bed. She was making love to Jonah...in a laundry basket at University Hospital! Lexie discovered them, and had a fit (she had a crush on Jonah.)
Gabe, the Angel--March 11, 1994--Gabe first appeared to John at a park bench. John had just left an Alice Horton party at the Penthouse Grill, where he was taunted by Kristen by being overly affectionate with Tony. Frustrated, he sat on a bench convered with newspapers, not knowing Gabe was there. After introducing himself ("My name is Gabriel, but my friends call me Gabe"), Gabe told John that he would soon have to fight a great battle. Before John could ask him what that meant, he disappeared.
Daniel Scott--August 1994--Daniel first showed up during the great blackout helping the victims. He introduced himself to Laura, who was also helping out, as a publishing executive.

Franco Kelly--June 28, 1996--Franco's first scene was at "Cheatin' Heart". Wendy and Hope were saying that they were happy with the men they have and couldn't think of looking at anyone else. Right then, Franco walks by, going over to the pool table, and Wendy says, "Wow." Later, Bo, Hope, Jonah and Wendy were gossiping about that "handsome cowboy over there". When Bo leaves, a guy comes to Hope's table and began to speak to her in a rudely way, so Franco, who has been watching the whole scene, goes there to help her. After a little talk, and a fight outside the bar with two men who wanted to beat them up, Hope agrees that it would be better if Franco stays with her, until Bo returns. After that they meet at the photo shoot.
Susan Banks--November 1996--Kristen was reluctantly stuck at her doctor's office and she was supposed to get a checkup. She already checked in with the nurse and she was supposed to see her doctor. Well of course she wasn't pregnant and couldn't let the doctor know that. She was in a serious panick! Then all of a sudden the doctor's door opens and out comes Susan dressed exactly like Kristen! Kristen is shocked and Susan is very, very, very ,very shy. Yes she was. She said that she saw the doctor for Kristen.
Sister Mary Moira Banks--June 6, 1997--Susan's identical twin sister flew in all the way from Minnesota to check up on her. Mary had received a letter from Susan telling her that she'd married a man named John, that vampires were after her, and that Graceland was going to burn down! Mary thought that she was speaking to John and Kristen Black; in reality, "Kristen" was really Susan herself!
Craig Wesley--August 4, 1997-- While Carrie and Mike attend a medical conference in LA, Carrie helps Mike get the best of an old medical school classmate, who was very competitive with Mike in med school and wants to rub his successes in Mike's face. Mike mentions his corvette, and this guy gloats about his Porsche. Carrie, listening from the other room, waltzes in and plants a big kiss on Mike, putting her hands all over him and asking him to introduce her to his friend. Mike is so stunned he can't speak. This friend, of course, was Craig. What began as a two-day role later became a contract role when Craig came to Salem in a quest to become Chief of Staff at University Hospital. He arrived in Salem March 25, 1998. At the hospital, Carrie and Mike are going through the bios of the other candidates. Carrie looks at the list and says "oh no!" Mike asks Carrie what is wrong and Carrie just tells him that this list is a preliminary one, the names could change. Later, Carrie tells Mike that she knows he's upset about his mom and she wants him to know that he can tell her anything. Even later, Carrie and Mike reminisce about LA and the scam they pulled on Craig. Carrie leaves to get some more papers and she sees and hears that Craig Wesley has shown up to apply for the job.
Nicole Walker--Feb. 27th, 1998--Nicole's first scene was waiting on Eric at the Java Cafe.
Nancy Wesley--6/18/98--Mike gets a call on his cell phone from the Winston and Lewis, asking him to meet them and Craig Wesley at the hospital. Mike and Carrie rush over, where Craig and his wife Nancy are waiting. Winston and Lewis tell them that Dr. Sutton has to resign his COS position earlier than expected because of his wife's illness, and the board will decide tomorrow night whether Craig or Mike will be the next Chief of Staff. After Winston and Lewis leave, Mike shakes Craig's hand, but Craig tells him he should concede now to be spared the embarrassment of losing. Carrie tells Craig he will be the one who is embarrassed. Nancy asks snidely if Mike plans to bribe the board members, and says that from what she's heard of the Hortons, she wouldn't put it past him. Nancy tells Craig they have better things to do than stand around talking to losers, and they leave. Carrie and Mike are aghast, and Carrie almost goes after her, but Mike tells her to ignore them. Nancy tells Craig that she wants to wipe that smug smile off Carrie's face, and that Craig had better not lose the COS race, or her daddy will be very unhappy. Craig tells her that he will fire Mike as soon as he is Chief of Staff.
Brandon Walker--6/8/99--There is a person at Nicole's door..it's Brandon. Brandon tells Nikki that he came a running when she called. Nicole invites him in and he asks her what is going on? Nicole says it is a long story, one she's not too proud of. Brandon says that he has time, his return ticket expires in thirty days. Nicole tells him that she was hoping he could stay longer, like for good. Brandon asks what is wrong, and she tells him that she married a man she didn't love so the man who does love never learns about her past. Brandon asks her if she wants him to get rid of the guy? When Nicole touches her necklace, Brandon asks her if that is the real thing? Nicole says it is, it was a gift from her husband. Brandon says that this Lucas doesn't sound like a bad guy, and jokes about marrying Lucas' sister. Brandon then bums some money off Nicole for some food and spending money. She gives him two hundred dollars and tells him not to worry paying her back, money is no longer a problem. She then fills him in on her real problem, her husband is probably a murderer! She tells Brandon that she is confused and asks him to stay in Salem, he is the only person she can trust. Nicole puts her head on his shoulder, and Brandon spots Nicole's bag of cash. Nicole tells Brandon that Lucas knows everything about her past, and she thinks he accepts her past because it doesn't compare to what he's done. Brandon says that he would be more than happy to get rid of her blood money. Nicole laughs and tells him to go buy some clothes. Brandon leaves and Nicole opens the door to leave, and runs into Eric.

She invites him in, and it brings back memories of his father. Brandon's mom asks him if he's okay? He tells her that being back here just stirs up some memories. His mom notices that he's lost a couple of pounds, but she's prepared all his favorite foods for him. Brandon tells his mom that before they eat he has a surprise for her. He opens the door and produces a Christmas tree, which has already been decorated. Brandon's mom tells him this is perfect because she couldn't put any money aside for a tree this year. They plug the tree in, and Brandon tells her now it looks like Christmas. She hugs him, and then tells him to sit and eat!

Memorable Returns |
Mike Horton--August 8, 1985-- Mike made it all the way to the Salem city limits, but there his old, beat up van died and wouldn't start. He looked under the hood, decided just what he needed and walked the rest of the way to Salem. The audience at this point doesn't know who he is, why he is breaking into the Horton homestead. Nor do they know why, if he is a burglar, all he steals are some donuts and a screwdriver. Later in this episode, Mike removes his shirt (a pink, Hawaiian sort of thing) as he fixes his van with a single screwdriver and utters the prophetic words "All right Salem, here I come!"
Maggie
Horton - August 28, 1985 - Maggie answers the phone in her New
York apartment. It's a collect call from Melissa, who has been
missing for months.
Jennifer Horton--October 9, 1985-- Jennifer and Nancy showed up in the hospital - her first scene was with Kimberly in the abuse clinic. Jenn was going by the name Jenny and got out of there as quickly as possible so she wouldn't be recognized. Mike found her later on when a friend of his was trying to pick her up.
Kayla Brady--May 27, 1986--Steve Johnson was hired by Emma Marshall to scare Kayla out of Cleveland so she could sell Andrew to the doctor Kayla worked for. Steve ransackes her apartment and then hides after she comes home. In the next scene, Kimberly calls Kayla to return home because Bo learned that Victor was his father and that he was distraught and he needed her.
Bill Horton - September 10, 1987 - Bill arrives at the Horton house early for Jennifer's birthday party and surprises everyone.
Stefano DiMera - November 4, 1988 - A man is seen riding a white horse on an island. Later, we see the man in a study listening to opera and it is Stefano. He laughs and says, "It's good to be back!"
Robin Jacobs - March 31, 1989 - April is in an auto repair shop waiting for her car to be fixed along with another woman. They engage in friendly chit-chat and then April leaves. The camera then pans up and we see that the woman is Robin.
Scott
Banning - May 1989 - Scott returned very much like his cousin
Mike. The audience didn't know who he was when he was first seen
sneaking into Tom and Alice's house. After finding a house key that
was hidden above the kitchen door, he walks inside and helps himself
to some of Alice's doughnuts. Then the female taxi driver who brought
him runs in to give him something he forgot. It's implied that they
slept together. After finishing his doughnut, Scott leaves. It's not
until much later when Scott gets in an argument at Wings that the
audience finds out who he is.
Bo Brady--April 19, 1990--Bo returned in his typical fashion--riding his motorcycle. He and Hope were in Australia, still touring the world on their boat. Steve was also there looking for the kidnapped Stephanie and her nanny, Kelly/Shelia. Sheila was carrying Stephanie and began to get picked on by some thugs. Stephanie began crying out of control and the music starts. Here comes Bo to the rescue to the song "Holding Out for a Hero," the same song that played when he rescued Hope from her wedding to Larry in 1984. Bo comes up to Shelia and the thugs and starts to beat them up. They are chased away and Bo takes off his helmet to check on Shelia and Stephanie.
Dr. Marlena Evans Craig Brady--early August, 1991--We see what we assume is a hospital and a patient lying on a bed for about a week. Her face is mostly covered and there is net around the bed. It is reasonably obvious that she is in a coma. The patient slowly awakens from the coma she has been in, and gets up. She passes a mirror where a flash of lightning strikes and we see it is Dr. Marlena Evans Craig Brady on August 2, 1991. She crates herself up to mail herself home and arrives in Salem shortly before Roman II / John and Isabella Toscano's engagement party. She watches the party silently through the window and goes off alone, deciding to leave Roman II / John to his new happy life. Roman II / John senses a presence outside and goes to investigate. It leads him to the pier. Marlena sees him and is about to go when she changes her mind. She's in the mist and Roman II / John turns to go when he finds nothing. She calls out his name. " Roman ! " He turns back when he hears his name and looks toward the voice. She comes out of the mist, " It's Marlena, " and she walks to him. He reaches out shaky hands in disbelief and touches her face. They embrace. It is August 16, 1991.
Stefano
DiMera - December 3, 1991 - Stefano (played by Frank Fata)
appears at the Mayan castillo revealing himself as the person who has
manipulated Victor, Lawrence, Roman, John, and Marlena into finding
the Mayan codices.
Carrie Brady--Jan. 10, 1992--Carrie Brady made a return like Sami's. She left Salem to live with Anna in Europe and was gone for a couple of years. She ran away from home and snuck back into town. We saw Carrie again when she got picked up by a guy while hitchhiking. She was harrassed by the guy because she had been leading him on. She accidentally ran into Roman/John while he was helping to stop the river from flooding the riverfront area. John got rid of the guy for her.
Bo Brady--March 13, 1992--Bo was kidnapped by Rafi Torres, while the show could re-cast the role (after Peter Reckell left). For a few weeks, we saw a body with a bag covering the face, as Bo was held hostage. Bo is eventually rescued by Roman and Mrs. Horton. That night there is a masquerade party. Roman finds a costume for Bo so he can attend and help Roman capture Rafi Torres (who is bound to show up at the party). Bo is out on the balcony trying to avoid being discovered, when Carly steps outside in tears. Bo overhears her praying for his safe return. It tears him apart to see the woman he loves in so much pain, so he goes to her and removes his mask. This is our first glimpse of Robert Kelker-Kelly as Bo. Bo and Carly share a bittersweet reunion on the balcony, then after Bo replaces his mask, they go inside to dance. Everyone at the party is shocked to see Carly dancing with another man that no one recognizes (she should be pining for Bo after all!). Rafi Torres is there and somehow realizes that that is Bo out on the dance floor with Carly. Rafi pulls out a gun and takes aim at Roman. Bo sees Rafi and knocks Roman to the floor in time. Later Roman and Bo arrest Rafi and Bo returns home to the boat where Carly awaits him. He wakes her up when he comes in and the episode ends with them falling into each others arms, kissing.
Sami Brady--Jan. 1993--Sami sneaked into Roman and Marlena's house while they were gone. Roman found out that somebody was in the house, and he believed it to be a robber. Sami jumped out the window and fell (?) and Roman came out and saw her and she yelled "Daddy, No!" (This was the first scene where she interacted with other Days characters, but I believe she had been in Salem for a couple of Days just checking things out.)
Laura Horton--1993--Vegetating in a dark little room at Pine Haven, Laura was visited by Kate, Vivian, and Jennifer. By the look of her face, she was not too thrilled to see or even hear about Kate Roberts, and with good reason.
Bill Horton--March 10, 1994--Unexpectedly, Bill showed up at his mother's Celebration of Faith party at the Penthouse Grill. There, he encountered many joyful faces, except Laura's. She wasn't too thrilled and received him very coldly.
Mike Horton--April 17, 1994-- Billie was talking on a pay phone in Salem Place and she told Bo that she had some errands to run and she'd meet him at the Penthouse Grill. Then she hung up and Mike was standing behind her. She told him she was sorry for keeping him waiting. He told her it's O.K and he didn't mind. She sees his bags and asks him if he's going somewhere. He says that he's returning from a long time away and that he can't wait to let people know he's back, that they're are looking for a big surprise. Billie says to him: "Well, welcome back."
Hope Williams--May 6, 1994--Hope is at Maison Blanche. We see only her back and her hair in a room that no one knows about except Stefano and Celeste. She is brushing her hair, when Celeste walks in. Celeste says that Stefano is upset about the noise she made and that it can never happen again. She takes the brush and brushes Hope's hair, telling her it's sad no one besides Stefano and her can see her beautiful hair. Celeste says that she knows it used to bother her, but that now she's (Hope) accepted her life in there. Celeste tells her: You know this is the way it has to be, don't you? Then we see Hope's hand closing a box. At this point, Hope is not referred to by name. (Her face wasn't revealed to the audience until the end of the episode on Friday, May 13, 1994. The episode ended on a still frame of her face.)
Jack Deveraux--Fall 1994--Jack was standing outside Jennifer's house when he saw Jen with Peter on the couch. Angrily, he squeezed her flowers on the front porch to little pieces. Although you could not see his face you could tell that it was him. As he watched them very silently he saw that Jen and Peter started kissing and he slammed a pot or something on the ground that startled them. At this point, Jack wasn't really being played by Mark Valley, which is why we didn't see his face. Mark's first scene as Jack was October 28, 1994. Jack entered the 'lobby' of the Meadows and proceeded to talk to the doctor about wanting to "change."

Curtis blocked the entrance to the Church. Somehow, Marlena made it past him. Curtis returned in 1997 when Billie was battling her own demons. He appeared to her in nightmares while she was in Rome and had been hooked on drugs. He encouraged her to continue taking the drugs to make herself feel good. With Bo's help, she was able to overpower him and he hasn't haunted her since.
Isabella Black--1995--Maybe it's not memorable, but it was a return. After banishing the devil, John came face to face with his dead wife, who commended him for resisting Satan's temptations (including an illusion of her.) After a tender good-bye, she disappeared.
Bo Brady--August 1, 1995--Peter Reckell walked back into Bo Brady's boots on August 1, 1995, entering the old apartment that Billie and Hope used to live in. His first words were "home again, home again." On the very next episode, it was revealed that the Hope/Gina character was indeed Hope. (This was also Collin O'Donnell's first day as the "new" Shawn-Douglas.) As Frances Reid put it, "Peter's back on the show, God's in heaven, and all is right with the world."
Kate Roberts--February 19, 1996--When Kate was presumed dead, she was really on a fish boat chopping fish heads. She escaped the sea captain and his boat of tunas and was saved by two islanders name Helena and Zip. Zip didn't want Kate to go, so Helena gave her a raft secretly and Kate managed to escape. In the middle of the sea, she feared that sharks might eat her up. She then went to another island where she met a pilot with a helicopter. She begged the pilot to give her a ride but the pilot said 'no.' She offered him some money but he though she was crazy. She then broke down and cried and said that Vivian had beat her. The pilot took pity on her and decided to fly her back to Salem. It was raining and Kate feared they might have another plane crash. She made it home and found the key to the Kiriakis mansion. She went to Victor's bedroom and found Vivian sleeping with Victor! She then confronted Vivian about causing her plane to crash.

The end of the show was of John catching Eric in the bushes and swinging him around thinking Eric is one of Stefano's men. Then Eric said, "John it's me." John yells, "Eric!" Marlena runs over and says "Eric! Oh Eric!" as she hugs him and Eric has a strange look on his face.
