Kositchek - May 1982 - Jake has figured out that Marlena is
staying at Don's house on the lake and goes to kill her. Just as he
is about to strangle her, Roman bursts in. Jake seemingly gives up
and drops his scarf. But as Roman goes to arrest him, Jake reaches
out for Roman's gun, turns it on himself, and forces Roman to pull
the trigger. Jake then gives a slight smile of relief and dies.

Emma
Marshall - December 31, 1986 - After discovering that Shane has
been playing her for a fool, Emma makes a vengeful speech at Neil's
New Year's Eve party. She manages to insult and threaten Neil,
Victor, Alex, Shane, and Paul before making scathing remarks about
Kimberly and her missing son. She then leaves the room, wishing
everyone a happy New Year. Shortly after midnight, Shane finds her
dead in Neil's study.
Olivia Reed--April 24, 1987--Roman (John) told Olivia that Marlena's dead but he was not pressing charges against her. He told her she had to live with her actions for the rest of her life, which is punishment enough.
Gillian Forrester--May 1, 1987--Gillian was arrested after trying to kill Kimberly and marry Shane. (At that point Camilla More took over her sister's role as Grace in the next episode.)
Gabrielle Pascal--9/6/88--Gabrielle once again abandons Eve and leaves Salem to move to Europe for an ISA case.
Serena Colville--September 1988--Serena felt that as soon as she regained her strength, that she should move on with her life. She felt that some time apart from Diana might do them a world of good, due to all the problems that they had had, involving Victor and the aftermath of Philip Colville's death and they way each of them had handled it. She decided she wanted to go to England and headed for the airport. Beforehand, she and Diana had had a nasty fight, and Roman encouraged Diana to say goodbye to her mother before it was too late, so Diana rushed to the airport. After a tearful talk, Diana insisting that Serena stay so they could start fresh. Serena reminded her that goodbye doesn't mean forever and that she was a survivor. As she walked toward the gate, said that Diana was a survivor, too, and blew a kiss towards her, mouthing the words, "I love you." Then she headed onto the plane and disappeared. Diana broke down, just as Roman showed up and gave her a hug. Diana said that now she was on her own.
Melissa
Anderson - November 8, 1988 - Melissa is at the hospital in the
staff lounge. Jack is there and she gives him his ring back, telling
him to "choke on it." She then says good-bye to her parents and
leaves for the airport to go to Europe.
Diana Colville--July 1989-- Carrie Brady resented Diana for accidentally shooting Roman/John which, added to her own guilt, made her decide to leave Salem. She had given Carrie a bracelet that was "special" to her and made love to Roman/John. As he slept, Diana grabbed her suitcases, took one last look at Roman/John, and quietly walked out the door.
Marina
Toscano - November 24, 1989 - Marina has made an urgent call to
Roman because she fears for her life. When he gets to her room at the
Salem Inn, he finds her body on the floor with a broken lamp
nearby.
Steve Johnson--Oct. 23, 1990-- Steve died in the hospital after being caught in a Jencon oil explosion meant for Bo. He came out of his coma following the accident, but his IV was later poisoned and he "died". After he was pronounced dead, Kayla visited his body in the hospital and sad a final farewell. As his dead body lay on the stretcher, she cried and remembered all of their happy times. The song "Goodbye My Friend" played as she remembered him. Following his funeral, his coffin was switched with another one, which means there is always the possibility that he could return.
George
Jenesky - Nick Corelli (10/31/90)
Billy
Hufsey - Emilio Ramirez (1/2/91)
Justin, Adrienne and Alexander Kiriakis--February 5, 1991--Johnny Corelli had located Justin assumed to be dead son, Alexander. He brought Alexander back to Salem. Justin was in Salem dealing with last minute business before going back to Dallas. Justin and Alexander were reunited. Adrienne then arrives. Justin is surprised to see her, but he has good news for her. He tells her that Alexander is alive. Angelica thought that Alexander would be better off with the two of them than on the run for the rest of his life. Victor tells Adrienne that she is a good mother and gives his blessing. Adrienne and Justin then take Alexander to the "Justin and Adrienne Memorial Park Bench" in the park and tell him why the spot is important to them. Justin, Adrienne, and Alexander leave for Texas only to be heard from once, when Jackson was born.
Antony
Alda - Johnny Corelli (4/18/91)
Lisa
Howard - April Ramirez (4/19/91)
Alli
Brown - Sarah Horton (6/3/91)
Camilla
Scott - Melissa Anderson (6/13/91)
Frankie Brady and Eve Donovan--July 12, 1991-- Frankie had to go to Africa for a research project and Eve was accompanying him. Days earlier, the two fought over Eve interrupting Jack and Jenn's honeymoon because of the money Jack had taken out of her trust fund that Nick had left her. Angrily, Eve said that she would not be going with him to Africa. Frankie said good-bye to his sister, Carly Manning, and boarded the plane, which Eve was already aboard and the two made up and left together.
Susan
Diol - Emmy Borden (7/22/91)-- After Emmy let Bo know that she
was being held hostage by Kurt (Victor's henchman), Kurt panicked and
took her to a warehouse. There, he poured poison into a handkerchief
and gagged her with it until she passed out. Soon after, Bo showed
up. Kurt escaped while Bo tried to revive Emmy. Emmy woke up in Bo's
arms and, as she was dying, told him that she had given him the
virus.
Neil
Curtis--October 16, 1991-- Neil
and Victor are arguing in the staff lounge at the hospital. Victor
asks Neil something about Carly's recovery. Finally, Bo comes into
the lounge and Neil says he has to go. Neil was in
the staff lounge at University Hospital when he spoke his last words:
"I have rounds to make...many rounds." ** [The "many rounds" part
was something that the actor, Joe Gallison, threw into the scenes, as
an inside joke that he wouldn't be back.] There was no
explanation as to where Neil went. For all we know, he's still in
Salem somewhere, but never seen at University Hospital. On
November 8, 1991, he was still at the hospital -- Carly said that he
had called to inform her that her medical license had been suspended.
That may have been the last time Neil was mentioned. (**This
last line has been debated...I've also seen it listed as "I have
patients to see. LOTS of patients." )
Joseph
Bottoms - Cal Winters (11/20/91)
Bonnie
Burroughs - Gretchen Lindquist (12/5/91)--Outside the Castillo in
Chichen Itza, Roman talks to Gretchen about how she kept him prisoner
in San Cristobal instead of helping him escape. Gretchen justifies
her actions by saying that she had to follow ISA procedures and
couldn't jeopardize the case. Roman tells her that he once was like
her, but then he realized that other things are more important.
That's the last we see of Gretchen.
J.
Eddie Peck - Hawk Hawkins (2/7/92)
Deborah
Moore - Danielle Stevens (4/16/92)
Jay
Pickett - Dr. Chip Lawson (4/30/92)
Kayla Brady--May 26, 1992--Kayla left after she and Shane shared one last kiss. She was at the Brady house in the kitchen/living room area, and began to remember the past. She looked up at all of the pictures on the mantel of the Brady kids and remembered her relationship with Steve via flashbacks. In the background, "Goodbye my friend" played. This was the same song that was played when Steve died. After the flashbacks, she picked up Stephanie and left the house. It was a goodbye to Salem as well as the audience.
Robert
Mailhouse - Brian Scofield (8/17/92)
Roberta
Leighton - Ginger Dawson (8/17/92)
Michael
Easton - Tanner Scofield (9/23/92)
Shannon
Sturges - Molly Brinker (9/23/92)
Richard
Biggs - Dr. Marcus Hunter (9/29/92)
Shane Donovan--October 7, 1992--With Kayla gone, Shane could see no reason to stay in Salem...too many sad memories. Shane was leaving on a mission that was supposed to last a few months, but both the Brady family as well as viewers knew he would never be back. Shane, Kim, the kids, and Shawn and Caroline gathered at Kim and Phillip's house, where he said goodbye to the kids and the Bradys. A very emotional scene followed where, when trying to say goodbye to Kim, they both decided it would be better to make it fast and simple. She salutes Shane, ordering him to complete his mission and return home as soon as he could, and he salutes back and walks out the door. Kim turns around and gives a backward wave so he wouldn't see her crying...but we see it. It was a very emotional last scene, the emotion was obviously getting to the actors as well...it was all very genuine. Shane was saying goodbye to Days as well as to Salem.
Isabella Toscano--October 16, 1992--Isabella lies in bed, (in Italy, where she grew up) losing her fight with terminal pancreatic cancer. She asks John about Brady, whom John tells Isabella has fallen asleep. "Dance with me, please," Izzy B whispers. John gathers his wife in his arms and holds her on a balcony overlooking the nighttime sky and the canals of Venice. He knows her time is almost up, and as he cradles her, he has a fantasy where he and Izzy B are dancing amidst a beautiful array of candles and stars to Bette Midler's rendition of 'The Glory of Love.' As the song ends, Isabella and John are at opposite ends of the dance floor. Izzy B flashes a farewell smile and fades into the darkness. Back on the balcony, Izzy B falls limp in John's arms. There is no music, just the sound of the water below and a crestfallen John softly sobbing. The camera pans out, and 'Days of Our Lives' scrolls over the solemn scene as the show ends.
Lisanne Gardner
(10/30/92)--Lying dead in front of the Alamain fireplace
after accidentally being killed by a frantic Nikki Alamain. She fell
and hit her head on a cat statue, which killed her.
Stella Lombard-- November 23, 1992--Stella had Marlena in the pit, almost insane because of her son Dean's death and Marlena's doctor/client friendship with Stella's husband, Roger. As Stella joined her son Jesse and was on her way out of town, she had a bout of conscience and decided to call the police to tell them where Marlena was. She was in a pay phone booth, on the line with the police, when a tractor-trailer slid off the road and killed her.
Roger and Jesse Lombard--December 3, 1992--they reconciled after having been somewhat estranged and headed off together to start new lives together as a family.
Brian
Heidik - Tim Rollins (3/12/93)
J.
Cynthia Brooks - Taylor McCall (5/5/93)
Don
Frabotta - Dave (6/7/93)
Richard
Burgi - Phillip Collier (6/8/93)
Dani
Minnick - Rebecca Morrison (7/30/93)
Jack Deveraux--Oct. 12, 1993--Jack discovered he was the one responsible for Abby's Aplastic Anemia when Victor told him he was the one who signed the orders for dumping of toxic waste at Tract 5. He and Jennifer were already having problems but after he found that out, he knew she could never forgive him. He got drunk at the Cheatin' Heart with Billie and went home, kissed Jennifer, pinned Steve's St. Christopher medal on Abby's blanket, took his coat and walked out of the door saying something like "Goodbye Salem".
Carly Manning and Nikki and Lawrence Alamain--Oct. 18, 1993--All three of them were on Lawrence's jet heading off...Lawrence told Nikki to go check something with the pilot...Nikki, happily, went into the cock pit. Carly and Lawrence talked about how great their other lives were going to be...Carly looked out the window, and the camera panned out. Bo, sitting on his boat, looked at the ring Carly had given back to him and threw it off the boat.
Curtis Brown--November 11, 1993--Curtis is busy with his drugs in an alley, when he sees somebody (we later find out it is Fred Harris) and shouts: "What do you want?!" In the shadow we see a gun pointing at Curtis. Curtis freaks out and yells: "NOOO!!!" then the gun fires. Later we see him laying in a puddle of blood.
Nurse Jackson and Anne Goldberg--February 1994--Both women, who were running the scam at Pine Haven, tried to stop Vivian and Laura from escaping after the fire began at Pine Haven, during Vivian's lobotomy. Jackson and Vivian struggled, and then Laura knocked Jackson over the head with a glass bottle; then she ran Anne over with a gurney, and she passed out from the fall. They both perished in the fire.
Tom
Horton--February 1994 (Tom died on June 20, 1994, but his last
scene had been many months earlier)--
Fred Harris--March 1994--His name may not ring a bell, but some may remember Fred as the crooked cop who worked with Stefano to frame Billie for the murder of her father Curtis. After being caught by Bo and John, and testifying against Stefano, and thus clearing Billie of murder charges, Fred was placed into custody. The DA was working on a plea bargain with Fred, in which he would tell the Salem PD everything he knew about Stefano. Fred planned to spill everything; he knew that Stefano was alive and well in Maison Blanche. The night before he was to confess everything, John, Kristen, and Tony found him hanging in his cell. To this day, we can't say for sure whether it was suicide or murder.
Alan Harris--February 7, 1995--After nearly being "Bobbittized" by Sami Brady, Alan was admitted to the hospital. The last time we saw him, he said something threatening against Sami to himself.
Billie Brady--Sept. 28, 1995--Billie left for Europe to allow Bo to sort out his feelings, and for him to choose between Hope and herself. As Bo went over to Hope's to get her to sign the divorce papers, the audience saw Billie pack tearfully and head for the airport. Bo got back to the boat, and realized where she had gone. He ran after her, and caught her just about to board the plane. She convinced him the the right thing for her to do was leave, and both were crying as she boarded the plane. The scene then changed to Billie sitting in the window seat of the plane, and looking out of the window crying. Then she had flashbacks of the wedding, the fireworks in Santa Rosa, and various times of them making love. Then as the plane was taking of she whispered "I love you Bo," and he was screaming "Don't go, Billie, I love you" at the plane, and crying as well. Read about Billie's return.
Tony DiMera--Dec. 1, 1995 -- Tony was so jealous that Kristen was in love with John that he made the decision to kill himself and frame John for the murder. (It was also convenient that he was dying from acute mylofibrosis.) First he stole John's old gun from his house and used it to kill himself. He put the gun in something that looked like a bookshelf. He aimed it just right so that it would not miss. He laid himself on the couch and pushed a button that made the gun go off. Before he shot himself he pretended to have an argument with John so that people would suspect him. He put gunpowder on the back door so that when they tested John for residue there would be a little bit on his hands, which shows that he fired a gun recently. When he first had John enter his room he locked the door. That made people think that John was the one who locked the door. His planning was very good but he made one error. He forgot to dispose of the diary where he had all of his plans to frame John for his murder. Tony shot himself on Nov. 24, 1995 and he died in a hospital in Aremid on Dec. 1, 1995. Of course in 2002, we discovered that this was actually Andre DiMera, not Tony.
Kate Roberts --4/24/95-- Vivian and Ivan put sleeping pills into Kate's coffee hoping to stop her from flying to the Caribbean to tell Victor about Vivian and Victor's marriage. The pilot of Kate's jet came in complaining of being too tired. Kate gave her (drugged) coffee to the pilot. After flying for a while, the pilot fell asleep in the cockpit. Kate radioed for help and heard Vivian's voice at the end. (Vivian was at air traffic control.) The plane went down in a river. Kate saved the pilot, but went back for the transmitter to get help. She was carried off by the current. Later, Kate was picked up by a fish boat. She was told to clean fish until they returned to Salem, some years later. She vowed revenge against Vivian. Read about Kate's return.
Father Francis--February 1996--With only days until John's execution, Kristen finally remembered the good Father Francis, who had been in a coma for quite a few months. She thought he could shed light on the subject of Tony's murder, but the poor priest couldn't do anything but mumble a few incomprehensible syllables. (He still lies in that coma today.)
Sarah--March 27, 1996--Sarah was the girl in Aremid who has a crush on Jack. When he was leaving Aremid, Jack told Sarah to "take care" and he left the Inn. She later spoke to herself, saying "I love you Jack" and then broke down. We never saw her again.
Barry
Cutler -Logan "Parrot Man" Michaels (3/7/96)
Jude St. Clair-- March 22, 1996-- After making a deal with Jack to release Jennifer, Jude took off into the snow covered mountains in Aremid. Jack tracked him down. Jack and Jude started fighting. Peter came upon them, aimed a rifle, and fired just as Jenn rounded the corner. After the gunshot, both Jack and Jude collapsed, only Jude was shot dead. Did Peter kill Jude to save Jack or to hide his secrets? We may never know.
Rachel Blake--August 14, 1996--Rachel and Stefano were in the tunnel in Paris. John gave a gun to Rachel because Marlena was hurt and he couldn't carry Marlena and watch Stefano at the same time. John told Rachel that if Stefano tried to get away to shoot him. Well, he did try to get away but no gun was fired. Stefano ran into a part of the tunnel where there was gas. If Rachel shot him, they would both blow up. Rachel made the decision to shoot him and she lost her life, as the tunnel collapsed. The sad part is that Stefano did not die but Rachel did. Or did she?
Jamie Caldwell -- August 31, 1996-- Last we see Jamie, she's standing in Sami's dumpy apartment talking to Lucas about trusting Mary Brooks with Will. We never see her again.
Mary Brooke (9/16/96)-- Mary finally gives in and reveals
the name and address of the couple who has Will. Sami, Carrie and
Austin leave her to rush off and find the boy. Mary wasn't seen
again, although we assumed she went to prison.
André Solner--October 11, 1996-- André met up with Vivian and Ivan in the Parisian prison. He broke out of jail with them and came to Salem. After a couple confrontations with Franco, the audience finds out he knows who Franco's boss is. When André follows Franco, Billie, Bo, and Hope to the Horton cabin, André doesn't make it off the island alive. Franco stabbed him on the beach then threw the knife into the water. The murder still goes unsolved. Franco tried to implicate André as the man who was beating Jill by placing blue contacts over the eyes of André's corpse.
Daniel Scott-- November 26, 1996-- Daniel was last seen alive when he went to the Blake house to find Peter. He ran into Stefano instead. Daniel was so scared that he fell out a window to his death. Daniel's BODY was last seen in Peter's coffin when Stefano revealed to Laura that Peter's alive.
Wendy Reardon (1/8/97)--Jonah and Wendy went into Sami's
house and told Vivian and Kate that Sami's condition is worsening.
That was the last time we saw Wendy.
Jonah Carver (1/14/97)-- We last saw Jonah at the hospital
with Sami, Marlena, Carrie, and Mike. Jonah rushed into Sami's room
with a TV.
Victor Kiriakis-- July 9, 1997-- After Kate and Sami's argument over the blackmail Sami has on Kate, Victor suffered a second stroke trying to defend Kate. He was taken to the hospital. Mike suggested moving Victor to a rehabilitation facility where he can get more care. We last see Victor being wheeled off on a gurney, hopefully to return again.
Matt Battaglia - J.L. King (8/7/97)--JL was in prison but he had told Max to kidnap Billie and get her hooked on drugs. Max did that, and he called King and told him that Bo was looking for Billie and that Max didn't want to be with Billie anymore. King just said to Max to continue following orders and stick with Billie.
Travis Malloy--December 19, 1997--The last time we saw Travis was when he had already kidnapped and taken Jennifer to Arizona, hoping that he would get a ransom from Peter and trade Jenn with Peter. The cops were after Travis and so was Jack. Jack heroically broke out of jail and went to Arizona to find Jenn before Peter did. When Jack and Travis saw each other they had a fight. Both Jack and Travis fell off the cliff and Travis didn't survive
Peter
Blake--February 23, 1998--Stefano has Peter sent to a federal
penitentiary just outside of Omaha. In his final scene Peter is
released from his cell to be transported to Omaha. Stefano is there
to say goodbye, and they hug:
Stefano: I wish you the best, my son. I know that I will see you
soon.
Peter: You can count on it.
guard: Come on, let's go!
Peter: Keep an eye on Jennifer for me.
Once Peter has left, Stefano says to himself that he fears that Peter
will never give up on Jennifer, the same way Kristen could never give
up on John. And that has been her downfall..
Marie-Alise Recasner - Lynn Burke (3/31/98)--Lexie tells Stefano that he can leave the hospital, but he has to hire Lynn as his private duty nurse, which Stefano agrees to. Nurse Lynn wheels Stefano out of his room and they see Laura. Stefano glares at her and accuses her of killing his daughter.
Kristen DiMera--April 24, 1998--Kristen was shipped to the fortress where Susan had previously been held. She is being held there for life. We last saw her moaning about Marlena taking everything from her and falling in misery. She was wearing a tropical print sarong sort of thing.

Edmund Crumb--5/8/98--Edmund was last seen when Stefano send Bart to England to check it out about Jonesy. Bart went to Edmund's pub claiming to be family of Jonesy. Edmund didn't trust Bart and later heard Bart talking to Stefano on the phone.
Jack, Jennifer and Abby Deveraux--June 5, 1998--After everything Jack and Jennifer went through, they decided they needed to go on a trip. They decided to take Abby to Africa to see Jenn's father Bill. They announced this at a celebration for Mike being chosen as one of the two finalists in the COS campaign. Before they left, Jennifer convinced Laura that it wasn't Marlena's fault for her being found guilty for attempted murder in "Kristen's" murder case, and that Marlena was responsible for her not being sent to the loony bin. They said goodbye to Alice and Maggie and prepared to leave. We last saw Jack, Jenn, and Abby, as they headed out of the house to their car with Laura and Mike.
Franco Kelly-- October 8, 1998--Franco was shot by Lucas in the Kiriakis mansion living room just before Sami and Franco's wedding. Lucas was protecting Kate from being hurt by Franco. Kate then framed Sami for the murder.
Taylor Walker --May 24, 1999-- the day after the custody hearing for Will and 2 days after Nicole married Lucas she is slapped by Nicole and walks out never to be seen again.
Mike Horton - September 2, 1999 --walks out the doors in an area of the hospital with Carrie crying and him saying "It's for the best, I know it is" as he leaves to be with his son Jeremy. Of course he returned two months later to sweep Carrie off of her feet.

Billie tells her mom that it isn't all her fault, it is hers to. Kate says none of this is her fault, but she says she was desperate to hold onto Bo and Nicholas. She says that she did not make her this way, Curtis did. Billie tells her mom that she doesn't have all bad memories of her childhood, her one happy memory was of her singing to her and telling her that she loves her. Billie tells her mom that she knows she loves her, and she loves her too. Kate asks Billie not to go, she begs her to stay. Billie says that she has to leave, for herself and for her mom. Kate tells Billie that she is very proud of her, and the two hug. She tells her mom that she will miss her, and then leaves. Kate breaks into tears after Billie is gone.
Carrie Brady
--11/19/99--Mike returned to Salem to take Carrie with him. Mike
calls someone on his phone and tells them that he's made a decision
about his future, and he needs to ask a favor from them. Later, we
see a black limo driving along a country road. It pulls over, and out
steps Carrie. She doesn't understand why she has been brought here?
The driver tells her that Doctor Horton wants her to wait here for
him. Mike shows up riding a white horse. Mike gets off the horse, and
Carrie wonders what he is up to. Mike tells her that it doesn't look
like a rainbow will be showing up today, so he's opted for plan B.
Mike tells Carrie that he loves her and asks her to be his wife. He
gets down on his knee and asks her to marry him. She tells him a
thousand times yes, (but just not right now) so he slips a ring on
his finger and they kiss. He tells her that they will have an
incredible life together. She agreed to go away to Israel with him,
where they would set up a clinic. They hop on their horse and ride
into the sunset together.

to the Green Mountain Lodge so he could catch Kate and Nicholas in
bed together. Well once she gets there, she changes her mind. She
talks with Victor and says a final goodbye to him, after he has
relieved to Kate he can walk again. She drives back to the town house
crying because she realizes she can never again have Victor. She
however, vows to hurt Kate if she ever hurts Victor. Once at the town
house with Nicholas, she notices a white limo pull up. She bangs on
the windows thinking they are new neighbors. Well, out comes Celeste
saying there is the richest, most eligible bachelor in Salem in
there. Out comes Ivan. Vivian then faints. When she comes to, Ivan
invites her to join him on a cruise around the world. Vivian agrees
immediately, she says goodbye to Nicholas and Celeste. She turns to
face the camera and says "Salem, you wonderful wacky town. You'll
always be in my heart. Tootaloo, its been a fabulous ride." And waves
at the camera with a tear going down her cheek. Ivan then pushes her
in the car saying, "Madame, the world awaits you!" They hop in the
limo and come out of the sun roof waving goodbye to Salem. The camera
zooms in on Vivian waving, with the background singer singing the
line "But baby if I'm the bottom, your the top!" And the show ends
with a still frame of the wonderful Vivian Alamain.

Angela Moroni- February 14, 2001- Angela jumped in front of Brandon as Sal aimed for him. Angela was shot and killed by Sal at the massacre in Paris. Vincent, Angela's father, then shot Sal and the other shooter in the hearts and killed them. After Angela died, Brandon put a yellow cover over her.
Hattie Adams- June 26, 2001- Hattie ran into Marlena at Salem Place and they argued. Marlena confronts her look alike and asks Hattie if Stefano arranged the plastic surgery. Hattie orders her to leave her alone and then comments on how she hurt Roman with her affair. Hattie rushed off and we haven't seen her since.
Stefano DiMera- June 14, 2001- Stefano planned to leave the country with Lexie and got fake passports. Hattie went to Roman and Bo and told them about Marlo's dead body. They got together a group of cops and cornered Stefano in his mansion. Stefano took Lexie hostage and shot her, but missed. He ran down his basement and John ran after him with Roman's gun. Roman chased John and Stefano locked the door. Stefano and John both had guns and had a standoff. They shot at each other and Stefano succeeded, shooting John three times. He got away and we last saw him in Salem Place as he had an encounter with Belle and Shawn. Stefano got in a car with Bart and they drove off.
Paul Mendez--10/15/01--After having been shot by Jan, Paul fights for his life in the ER. Nicole torments him and he has had enough, so he jumps out of the bed, using every little bit of strength he has left and strangles Nicole. Before he kills her, he collapses in dies. Brandon and Nicole are pleased that Paul is dead, but Fay mourns her husband.
Elizabeth Cox- April 1, 2002- Elizabeth overheard Colin talking to his connections on the phone as he called Liz cold-hearted and said she could never be loved. Elizabeth ran off in a blind rage, never to be seen again. Colin returned to his room and found a note from Liz, saying she knows the whole story.
Austin Reed--4/5/02--After leaving Sami at the altar in Vegas after learning the true truth about Will and Lucas (that Lucas never hit Will), Austin leaves for New York to work on Titan's Permalash account. He speaks with Nicole who confesses her true feelings for him, and he leaves... just after he lays a huge kiss on her.
Greta Von Amberg--4/19/02--When Greta found out that Jack wasn't gay at all and he had been lying to her all along, she flew back to Salem. The next day she packed her bags and prepared to leave town. Before she left she visited John and told him that she was leaving for good and that she couldn't find happiness in Salem. She returned to Jennifer's house and said farewell to Alice, Abby and Jennifer. She remembers her old time with Bo, Hope, John and Marlena. She remembers how she was brought back from the Bayou to Salem. When she got out of the house she ran into Jack, and Jack begged for her forgiveness. She said, "I can't now, maybe someday I will"! After that she just kept on walking, with her face flowing with tears.
Glen and Barb Reiber, John Thomas Brady Reiber--May 1, 2002--After spending his last hour at Bo and Hope's with his family, JT left for Iowa with his biological father, Glen and stepmother Barb. Glen and Barb thanked Bo and Hope and the family for everything they'd done for JT. They headed out the back door with the social worker and weren't seen in Salem again.
Jan Spears- June 7, 2002- The graduation of the Salem High teens took place with speeches from Chloe, Belle, and Jennifer. After the speech, Hope turned and smiled at Jan and Mrs. Spears as that is the last time we saw them. Jan is now living in England with her mother.
Mrs. Spears- June 7, 2002- Mrs. Spears left with Jan for Europe/London.

Philip Kiriakis- December 25, 2002- Philip arrived at the Kiriakis Mansion on Christmas day and Victor and Kate tried to talk him out of joining the Marines. He was persistent. Billie and Lucas arrived and congratualted him as did Belle, Shawn, and Mimi. Finally, Brady and Chloe rushed in and they said their final good-byes to Philip. With that, Philip grabbed his satchel, opened the door, smiled, nodded his head, and walked out of the house, never to return again.
Colin Murphy- January 6, 2003- Colin Murphy was last seen alive at Victor and Nicole's wedding. Someone, who hated Colin with all of the fiber in their being, shot and murdered him. His last scene was with Belle Black when she stumbled upon his body. However, he will return later in January when his ghost frightens prime suspects.

Carson Palmer- April 16, 2003- Carson was arrested for helping an alleged drug dealer, Vin Ramsell, free other dealers from jail (Unsure whether or not he will return).
Brandon Walker- June 3, 2003- Just after Brandon revealed that he was Abe's son, Sami rushed him to the altar, knowing that Eugenia, the lab technician, was going to reveal the truth. By the time they were married and back to the hotel, Lucas, Kate, Nicole, and Roman arrived and told Brandon that Sami switched the DNA results. In a fit of rage, Brandon rushed to Lexie and asked if he was the father of her baby. Lexie tells everyone that she faked the results, knowing that Sami would switch them. Sami jumped on Lexie and started choking her. Meanwhile, Brandon returned to the apartment to pack his bags and after saying good-bye to Nicole, Abe arrived and they had one final son/father moment. Later, Brandon returned to the hospital, watched Lexie and Abe talk, and walked off in silence, never to be seen again.
Wilhelm
Rolf --June 20, 2003--Rolf was found dead by Mimi and Rex. They
took his body to be disposed of, but eventually, his body was found
and placed in the morgue. Nicole, has Larry Welsh break into the
morgue with her, where she steals Rolf's body, keeps him on ice
in a hay trough in the barn at the Kiriakis mansion to be used
as part of her plot to kill Victor. Eventually, Rolf's body ends up
going up in flames in the back of a police cruiser on a back road
where Nicole helps to free Larry Welsh to help her in her plot to
assasinate Victor Kiriakis. That's the last that we've heard of or
seen of Rolf.
Chloe Lane--June 13, 2003--Chloe goes to the Blue Note to sing, as she promised Brady. When she gets there, she talks with another singer and then Philip. Both of them try to offer advice regarding her choice to go to Europe with Ms. Marin or stay in Salem. She makes her final decision and with tears streaming down her face, she tells Brady that she will join Ms. Marin on tour. Both cry and Chloe tells Brady that she doesn't think she could say goodye. She grabs him and kisses him and goes to sing her final song in Salem. When she notices Brady standing there, she changes her program and says she has a very hard time saying how she feels, except when she is singing. She says she has something to say to someone she loves. The music changes and Chloe sings "Because you loved me" with Brady crying in the background.

Andre DiMera--1984--Andre and Tony dueled with bamboo sticks on the exotic island. During the fight, they both fell into a pool of quicksand. While Tony was saved by Jasmine, Andre sank into his gritty demise. We later discovered that Andre didn't die at this time. He took Tony's place in Aremid, since he believed he was dying of a fatal blood disease. With Stefano's help, Andre, posing as Tony, committed suicide, framing John for "Tony's murder." John was nearly executed because of this incident.
Roman Brady- November 1984- Anna, Tony, and Daphne DiMera, Liz Curtis, Carlo Forenza, Eugene Bradford, Calliope Jones, Bo Brady, and Hope Williams. went to an island somewhere. Stefano, who was on the island, had Petrov kidnap Hope in order to lure Roman to him. It worked. Stefano appeared to Roman and held a gun to him and demanded the Prism. They made their way to the top of a cliff. Roman was silent while Stefano went into a long diatribe about their similarities. Stefano admitted that he admired Roman as an opponent because they were alike. They both put family above everything else. During his speech, Stefano got a headache from his tumor. Roman took this opportunity to take the gun away from Stefano. During the struggle, the gun went off and shot Roman in the stomach, sending him off the cliff to his death. Bo and Hope saw him float to shore. Bo and Hope rushed up to a dying Roman and Hope left to get help. After his last breath, he died. Bo vowed to kill Stefano Dimera. Bo rushed into the jungle and told everyone of Roman's death. Meanwhile, Stefano escaped. Bo returned to the shore to find Roman's body gone. We saw Roman in a warehouse with Stefano holding him hostage. In 1986, a man named the Pawn arrived in Salem. After searching for his identity, he "discovered" he was Roman Brady. Marlena was finally reunited with her love, until "Roman" found out that he was Forrest Alamain (aka. John Black). In the 1990s, the real Roman Brady returned and was put in a coma. He later returned again in 1996, in a wheelchair, dying from a mysterious virus.
Marlena Evans Brady--1986, 1987--Marlena was last seen in her and Roman/John's house. The house went up in flames, as did Doc (so it seemed). John did find her wedding ring, however, and did not believe she was dead. Marlena, of course, wasn't dead. She was being held prisoner on some exotic island taking care of two children (Orpheus'). A few weeks later a plane crashed off the Caribbean island holding Marlena, whom Orpheus was sending away, since he knew Roman was there looking for her. This time, Roman/John accepted Marlena's death. Then somehow, years later, Doc returned after being held captive by Stefano on yet another island. Hmmm, never have quite figured that one out.
Hope Williams Brady--July 1990 -- Hope went looking for Bo on the island, when he told her to stay put. She was caught by Ernesto and no one knew it. He gathered Julie, John (who was Roman), Isabella, and Bo in a room. He told them he had a magic show. In the room was a gigantic vat of acid and this huge covered cage contraption over it. When Ernesto removed the cover, there was Hope locked in the cage. He told them it was the last time they would see Hope. Bo pleaded for him to let her go and take him, but Ernesto refused. Ernesto told Hope to say goodbye to her family because they were going on a trip. He also told Bo not to come near the cage and try to save her because he would drop her in. She told everyone goodbye and then gave a special goodbye to Bo. As Bo ran to save her, Ernesto gave a magic word and there was an explosion. When the smoke cleared she was gone and the cage was broken. In 1998, it was revealed that Hope never fell into the acid. At the last minute, Greta, an actress, took her place in the cage and was the one who was burned. Read about Hope's return.
