Bryan Datillo

(Lucas Roberts)
Bryan first appeared on Days on April 4, 1993. He is one of six children (three of whom are half-sisters.) He is known as a big practical joker on the Days set. He doesn't like props like fake hands or slime. He prefers to just play mind games on people. He has a black Labrador named Vinnie, whom he takes to a dog sitter when he goes to work. At the doggy day camp, Vinnie enjoys playing with other dogs and relaxing while watching TV. Bryan says he used to leave a note and his 8x10 black and white photo on the car windshields of girls he found attractive. It worked like a charm and got him many dates. Before he joined the cast of Days, he appeared on the live-action Saturday-morning series "California Dreams" as Ted. His character was the friend of the band leader. He came for a visit and then both of the women in the band fought over him. He also appeared on various prime-time series, including "In the Heat of the Night," "Doogie Howser, M.D.", "Class of '96 " and "Charles in Charge." Dattilo also played the street-wise teenager, Jeff, in the feature film "Arcade." Dattilo was born in Kankakee, Ill. He later moved with his family to Beverly Hills, where he attended Beverly Hills High School. Dattilo enjoys traveling, surfing and playing baseball and basketball. In the summer of 1998, he became an uncle, to Reilly Marie Dattilo. Bryan had a little outfit made for her that says "My Godfather is Lucas Roberts"!!

Worst Spending Vice: Keeping my Mustang detailed, souped up and looking great.
A little Bryan story....TV Guide Awards 1999...During awards shows, the networks hire people called "seat-fillers" who come to the show dressed up like guests. When someone is on stage, the seat filler goes to their seat, so when the audience is shown...it doesn't look empty. Well, whoever was sitting in the seat next to Bryan was gone...and a young lady with very curley hair came down and sat in the empty seat. Bryan, always the friendly guy, introduced himself and had a few words of conversation with her just to be friendly. At about that time....Days won for Best Soap...and the cast left their seats to go onstage. Bryan said to the seat filler, "I guess you can't come with us" (jokingly...as Bryan always does.) The seat-filler thought he said, "I guess you CAN come with us....and she ended up on stage with them! Bryan was just dying laughing. Austin then looked at Bryan and said, "Why'd you bring your date onstage?" Which really cracked Bryan up. Bryan told Austin...."This isn't my date, she's a seat- filler!!" and at that point....Austin really lost it. Bryan, at the same time began jumping up and down, because he was in the back and couldn't see. The whole cast then started "buzzing" about why Bryan brought his "date" on stage with him....and Austin and Bryan couldn't contain themselves......about that time, Deidre heard the boys goofing around in the back...and gave them that "motherly" warning....not knowing what had happened.

Eileen Davidson

(Kristen DiMera and crew)
Eileen is a vegetarian. She is married to Jon Lindstrom (Kevin, GH and PC). Her first Days episode was May 17, 1993. Eileen has a large mural on her dressing room wall that she painted herself. Since then, other Days actors, including Louise Sorel, have followed suit, having murals painted on their dressing room walls. If Eileen hadn't been an actress, she would have been a writer. She continues to write today and hopes to one day write a book or screenplay. Eileen is the youngest of seven children. Her father, Richard, was an airplane parts manufacturer (he died in 1981) and her mom, Charlotte, a homemaker. She's certified in SCUBA and enjoys surfing and snow skiing. She also sews, has a garden, and loves to cook. She grew up in La Mirada, Calif. and moved to L.A. in 1978, at 19, to take drama classes. Eileen starred in a slasher flick (The House on Sorority Row, 1982), in which her character is out to get what she wants and very vengeful and pushy. The movie included a nude scene of her and some funny moments where she gets what she deserves. Later in 1982, Davidson saw her luck change, when she beat out hundreds of others auditioning as Ashley Abbott, The Young and the Restless's resident vixen. In the mid 1980s, Eileen was engaged to Chip Mayer, who played TJ on Santa Barbara. They were engaged for well over a year, but never were married. Eileen says her favorite ice cream isn't made anymoe, but it's Haagen-Dazs Chocolate and Peanut Butter. "It's the kind that you can sit down with and eat a pint on one shot." Her favorite fruit juice is Guava. For breakfast, she eats a vitamin drink called Superfood. In her pre-vegitarian days, she loved Taco Bell and Jack in the Box, but doesn't eat fast food anymore. She says her weirdest trait is making faces, which we all know has been very profitable for her on Days. Her dream car would be an old Porsche Speedster in black. She currently owns a '68 Firebird convertible. When asked the eternal question, "Who's better: the Beatles or the Rolling Stones?" she replied, "That's a tough one. The Beatles are better for sentimental music and the Stones are better for hard-a** rock `n` roll." She enjoyed the movie Austin Powers and related to his funky teeth, which were much like Susan's.

Wesley Eure

(Mike Horton)
During his time on Days (from 1974-77), Wesley starred in the very popular children's show, "Land of the Lost." He played Will Marshall for all three seasons of the show. According to my records, that makes Wesley the second Days star to appear on a metal lunchbox (see Deidre Hall, above, for the first). Episodes of the show can now be found in video stores. Wesley is also an accomplished singer. For a hint of his talent, listen to the theme song for "Land of the Lost" during the last two seasons of the show, he's the voice behind the song.

Judi Evans

(Adrienne Kirakis)
As a child, Judi was a circus clown, like her parents, who also worked in circuses.

Mary Beth Evans

(Kayla Brady #2)
Just before landing the role of Kayla, Mary Beth considered giving up acting and focusing on a different career--firefighting. She says, "The Los Angeles fire department was looking for women recruits, so I sent away for brochures." When Mary Beth was 5, an astrologer told her mother that Mary Beth would become an actress. She made her soap debut as Dakota Lane on Rituals in 1985. She would love to have a regular segment on a TV talk show, either cooking or making things. She runs four miles a day to keep fit. Her favorite movie is Gone With the Wind. The movie Out of Africa always makes her cry. When Meryl Streep "starts shoveling the dirt on the grave, I lose it every time." Her favorite Days scene was when "Kayla was deaf and Steve and I were dancing on the roof with the street noise behind us." Mary Beth almost named her third child after Nanny star Charles Shaughnessy (Shane, Days). "But Charlie Schwartz didn't sound so great, so I went back to Matthew," she reveals.

Doren Fein

(Mimi, Belle's friend)
Doren made her third appearance on Days when she played Belle's friend Mimi in August 1999. Her first appearance was on Smith Island in a scene with John & Kristen. There was a little boy and a girl on the island, and the brother was drowning. John and Kristen came to their rescue. Doren appeared again in 1995 during the Aremid storyline. Ivan also appeared in an episode of Murphy Brown on 3.13.89 as a Russian. The episode was called "Moscow on the Potomac." Ivan owns a Ford Thunderbird.

Deidre Hall

(Marlena Evans)
Deidre was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but was raised in Florida. Deidre originally turned down the role of Marlena, thinking that there must have been a reason that everyone else had turned down the role. It was a few months later that the role was offered to her again. Days made it clear that they wanted her and only her for the role, so she came on board. Deidre was once a disc jockey at an all-women radio station while college in Florida. She also auditioned for the role of Krystle Carrington on Dynasty, a role that eventually went to Linda Evans. Deidre also auditioned for a James Bond movie but her contractual obligations to Days prevented her from making the movie. Dee played Barbara Anderson on Y&R just prior to becoming Marlena on Days. She was on the show for about a year. Looking remarkable for her age, Deidre has not had any plastic surgery, except a lip enhancement in the early 1990s. She also has naturally curly hair. She was a heavy smoker at one time, but has not smoked in many years. She's now a perpetual gum chewer. Deidre has been married a number of times. In 1978, her marriage to musician Keith Barber ended in divorce. She was later involved with Lou Grant's Robert Walden, Days' Jack Coleman, and Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver). Apparently she also fell for castmate Quinn Redeker, who once flew her to Venice for a romantic weekend. In September 1984, she appeared on the Days set with an engagement ring from then-vice president of NBC, Steve Sohmer. She later publicly states, "Steve and I are no longer engaged, but I hope we'll always be friends. He's a wonderful man and I have no regrets. I'm just glad we realized that marriage wasn't for us before we rushed into anything." Of course she married Steve in a fairy tale wedding in 1992. She admires "women who have achieved a level of true grace in their lives." She's points to Jacqueline Kennedy and Katharine Hepburn as that type of woman. Deidre's middle name is Ann. Her twin sister, Andrea is older by two minutes. Her favorite perfume is Shalimar by Guerlain and has been for "nearly two decades." Dee says, "I mist my room when I leave for work so the scent will stay in the air for my little boys to smell." In recent years, she became the celebrity spokesperson for a new Hallmark card line and the spokesperson for Dexatrim. She also maintains her own business, Customs Last Stand, a video production company which produces video resumes. In 1993, Deidre taped a talk show pilot for "The Deidre Hall Show." The show was backed by King World, who also distributes Oprah, but it wasn't picked up. She filmed her role in Woman on a Ledge during the summer of 1992 (it aired March of 1993). Her role in OpCenter was filmed in September of 1994 and aired Feb of 1995 and her role in Never say Never: The Deidre Hall Story was taped August/September 1995, and aired December 1995. From 1976-77, Deidre was seen in a children's show called "Electra Woman and Dynagirl" where two female reporters turned into superheroes. The show was part of the Krofft Supershow. She played Electra Woman/Lori. The picture on the right is of the Krofft Supershow lunchbox (1971), which features Deidre's character, Electra Woman. There can't be many other soap actresses who have appeared on a metal lunchbox! There are several wonderful
EW and DG websites where you can find more info about her show. She taped her first scene as Dr. Marlena Evans on June 21, 1976.

Lori Hallier

(Yvette Dupres)
Lori was on the Canadian soap opera Loving Friends and Perfect Couples in the early 80s.
Hallier's career had an illustrious start opposite Harvey Keitel in "Blindside" circa 1985. A year before she'd had a bit part on the Dukes of Hazzard. After a few low profile Canadian TV movies, she got her recurring role on Days, which, so far has been her main claim to continued public recognition. It also gave her "main guest star" status in the syndicated TV industry (mostly of the cheaply made Canadian variety) which kept her busy throughout the late 80's / early 90's. In recent years, she's done commercials and voiceovers.

Bill Hayes

(Doug Williams)
In 1955, Bill, who had been a regular on Sid Caesar's Your Show of Shows, released the single "The Ballad of Davy Crockett." The song spent five weeks at the top of the charts and went gold. Hayes had another Top 40 hit with "Wringle Wrangle" from the movie Westward Ho, The Wagons. Bill also recorded an album titled "At Doug's Place," named after the his character's restaurant. His wife, Susan, is featured in two duets on the album. Bill also recorded a couple of Christmas songs that were co-written with Edward Mallory. He has three daughters and two sons from his previous marriage. In the early 70s, he released his second album, "From Me to You, With Love."

Susan Seaforth Hayes

(Julie Williams)
Susan's real name is Susan Seabold. Susan was a history major who earned straight-As at Los Angeles City College. In 1970, Susan spoke before Congress on the issue of school prayer. She was the youngest person to do so. Susan is 5' 3 3/4" tall. The actress lists opera and horses as her favorite things. Susan and husband Bill Hayes (Doug and Julie) were the first, and only, daytime stars to appear on the cover of TIME. They appeared in 1976. Susan Seaforth Hayes is the daughter of Elizabeth Harrower, former Days head writer (mom was head writer when Doug and Julie were at their best!) In 1963, Susan appeared on GH as Dorothy Bradley.

(Lisanne Gardner)
Lynn graduated with a degree in psychology from Louisiana State University. She was also Miss Virginia, and a runner-up in the 1978 Miss USA pageant. She's married to Wayne Northrop (Roman) and has two sons, Hank and Grady.

Darby Hinton

(Ian Griffith)
Darby was a regular in the television series "Daniel Boone" as DB's son.

Drake Hogestyn

(John Black)
Drake once had aspirations to be a major league baseball star. He had a baseball scholarship from the University of South Florida, where he majored in pre-dentistry. He was drafted soon after graduation by the NY Yankees. He played third base for the team, until he was injured in 1978. He also played for one of the St. Louis Cardinals' farm teams . In the late 1970s, he was spotted in a talent search held by Columbia Pictures. He was given a starring role in the prime-time series "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." He then switched his contract to another Columbia division, as he signed on with the Columbia Pictures Television daytime property, Days. Hogestyn's first Days episode was Jan. 28, 1986. In 1985, Drake appeared in the pilot for a TV show, Generation, which highlighted the adventures of a typical American family in the year 2000. Drake's character Jack Breed was one of the sons of the family, who would be a gladiator in a sport not unlike Rollerball. Needless to say, the pilot was never picked up. Drake admits that he followed with great interest, John Gotti and what went on with his family. Drake was the first male soap star ever to guest on The Tonight Show. His dressing room: with a gigantic Babe Ruth portrait adorning one of his walls, weights sprawling on the floor, and an Oscar (okay, so it's a fake one!) on his dressing table - Drake likes to make himself feel at home. And what would a dressing room be without one's emergency supply of Evian and lemons? Photos of his loving family are always there, too! Drake has a reputation as being a great storyteller on the Days set. You can always hear him telling his tales in the makeup chair or wardrobe. Here are some of his favorites:

Renee's first appearance on Days was Feb. 2, 1993. In 1996 she bought her "dream machine" -- a 1997 Mercedes-Benz sedan. She always wanted a Mercedes with leather seats and all the wonderful wood-panel trim inside. It replaced her 1990 Nissan 300 ZX, which continually broke down.
