What's your take on reality shows, besides there being way too
many? You know...I wrote out a long explanation of what I
thought on this whole subject....read it...and decided not to send it
because it really comes down to this...our world and reality is
messed up enough and I can get enough of that through reading the
paper and watching the news...I like to watch t.v. And films to take
me away from reality and into a fictitious world. Why do you think
they have us read fictional books and stories in school...to expand
our knowledge and creativity. You don't really get that by watching
Jerry Springer or Elimidate. (04)

Joseph was born in Concord, California and raised in Modesto,
California. His most interesting job was as a phone-survey caller
asking Southerners which maple syrup they preferred. He is one of
twenty kids.
(Johnny Corelli)
While Antony's name is spelled with no "H", it is pronounced Anthony.
His half-brother is M*A*S*H star Alan Alda and his father is Robert
Alda, who played Stuart Whyland on Days. Antony was born in France
and spent his first 18 years split between Rome and New York. He
studied at Julliard while working at a driving school.
(Stuart Whyland)
Robert is Antony and Alan Alda's father. In 1979, he appeared on the
Facts of Life as Robert Garrett, Mrs. Garrett's
ex-husband.
(Franco Kelly)
Like his character, Victor is Italian. In fact, he's been learning
English during his role on Days. He still encounters items in his
script that he doesn't understand. In Italy, Victor was a rookie cop.
Victor appeared on Ned and Stacey before joining Days. In the
episode, Ned went to a gay Mardi Gras party and danced with
him.

accident. She was a cover girl for more than thirty magazines by the
age of 15. She likes shopping, travel, eating, amusement parks, being
organized, trying new places and foods. She dislikes liver, kidney,
housework, ironing, laundry, traffic and airplane delays. When she
married her husband, Simon McCauley, in her hometown of Boston in
1987, she wore the dress that Hope wore in her and Bo's 1985 London
wedding. Kristian is left-handed. She gave birth to son Jack in July
2002. His full name is Jack Tassis Daggenhurst. He's named after his

(Don Craig)
Jed was once a New York City cab driver. He has three sons, Mitch,
Dean and Rick. His wife, Toby, died in 2001 of an
aneurysm.
(Billie Reed #2)
Krista was in a number of erotic films before she was on Days. They
were the "Emanuelle" films that have an NC-17 rating (I'm not sure
which ones.) Krista's favorite pig out foods are "really fattening
stuff like cheese and crackers, Italian bread with olive oil and
basil, and chocolate." Her most prized posession is her engagement
ring, which is a two carat round diamond surrounded by eight rubies,
designed by her husband. She would love to meet Sharon Stone. When
she was 14, she ran away from home and spent 2 years living with
friends. She describes herself as honest, loyal and spontaneous.
Krista takes both her pager and a pack of Big Red gum everywhere she
goes. The pager allows everyone to contact her (her husband sends her
love messages on it) and the Big Red is for those times when she has
"tuna on rye with lots of onions." Krista guest starred in an episode
of "Married... With Children" as Crystal Clark, a classmate of Bud's
(David Faustino), posing for a calendar he was creating. At the end
of the show she announced that she is really a man! She also appeared
in the movie, Liar,
Liar, with Jim Carrey, playing the
well-endowed woman in the elevator. She appeared in Raven
in 1997 with Matt Battaglia.
John Amour
(Michael Horton)
John appeared on Mary Tyler Moore on 2/12/72 in episode #60 "It Was
Fascination, I Know." He played a 13 year old.
(Valerie Grant)
Tina appeared on an episode of the Brady Bunch in 1971. She played
Marcia's friend Doreen, in the episode where Marcia meets Davey Jones
and asks him to be her prom date.
(Victor Kiriakis)
John's daughter is Friends star, Jennifer Aniston. (Picture on right
is John and Jennifer in 1976 when Jennifer was 6 years old.) Look at
her closely, and you'll see his eyes and nose. John is taller than
you might think--in person he's 6'3", not the 7" he seems to be on
your TV screen. John is originally from Canea, Greece. He went to
college at Pennsylvania State University, where he studied theater
and California State University, where he studied biology. He even
moved to Greece with his wife and young children to study medicine.
Unfortunately, due to political turmoil, all of the universities
(including medical schools) were closed. After waiting for one year
for the schools to open, he gave up and decided it was time to come
back to LA and be an actor. He joined Days in the summer of 1985.
Before turning to acting, John was a lieutenant commander with the
U.S. Navy Intelligence. John auditioned for the role of Doug Williams
in the late 1970s. The part as we all know, went to Bill Hayes
instead. John was also on the first cover of Soap Opera Digest in
November 1975, when he starred on the soap Love of Life. (You can see
this cover on my
Days-related pics page.
(Jack Deveraux #3)
Matt is the fifth of eight kids. He practices Buddhism. Matt relaxes
by reading. He likes all kinds of books. His favorite room in his
house is the kitchen, because it's the heart of the home and is where
the food is. He graduated from North Carolina School of the Arts with
a major in Drama. Matt is left-handed. In 1989, Matt got the chance
to play roadie, when he aided musician Herbie Hancock on his tour.
Matt's wife, Christina Saffran was a singer with the band. Matt and
Christina met in Hawaii when they danced in a show together. They
were married in 1987. They have two children, Grace and Emma. Grace
is a budding actress, writer, director, and has even written a part
for herself to join her father on Days. She often appears on stage
with her mom. While Christina performs as Kathy in Singin in the
Rain, Grace performs as Young Cosmo. She also appeared opposite her
mother in Damn Yankees as one of the kids. Emma has suffered from
Retinoblastoma, cancer of the retina, since she was an infant.
Matthew and Christina, along with actors Hunter and Michael Tylo,
have formed Retinoblastoma
International, a foundation to help in
research and education about the disease. Emma recently had her left
eye removed because of the disease.
(Chelsea, who works for Marlena at her
penthouse)
Lena is usually seen in the shows where Belle and Brady appear, but
the role of Chelsea is not her first principal role on Days. She was
also seen as Dr. Alvarez, a fertility doctor and various other small
roles. Her background is with the SCTV comedy troupe. She also
appeared for many years on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson as a
member of the Mighty Carson Art Players, doing sketch comedy. She's
done lots of guest starring work on episodic television and some
feature work. One of her talents is cartoon voices. She keeps the
kids on the set in stitches doing various voices. Brandon and Eric
Billings (Brady) enjoy her dog voice especially.
(J.L. King)
Before joining Days, Matt starred in Army of One with Kristian
Alfonso. That was three years ago. He also starred in
Raven,
where he played Krista Allen's fiance. It's definitely a small world.
The actor was a two time All-American and former Cleveland Browns
linebacker. Matt's birth name is Matteo Battaglia. His favorite
cartoon character is Tigger. He can type close to 55-60 words per
minute. He's half Italian and half German/Dutch. Matt was one of 6
finalists who screen-tested with Melissa Reeves in 1994 for the role
of Jack. As we know, the role went to Mark Valley, but the Days
producers obviously remembered him when he returned as J.L. King.
Shortly before he left Days, he played a fireman Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow)
was dating on Friends.
(Laura Horton)
Jaime posed for Playboy in a 1982 pictoral on the women of daytime
television. Jaime's first airdate on Days was Nov. 12, 1993. She is
married to songwriter Jeremy Swan, with whom she has a daughter and
two sons. She speaks out for epilepsy, since one of her sons suffers
from the illness. She guest starred on The Love Boat in the 1980s.
She had a cameo in the soap opera spoof "Young
Doctors in Love," from the people who
made Airplane! Jaime and Josh Taylor appeared on the cover of People
magazine in 1980 to promote the cover story about sex on the soaps.
Jaime was on Y&R as Lauralee Brooks at that time, and Josh was
Chris Kostichek. Jaime made her "Days of Our Lives" debut as the
emotionally distraught psychiatrist, Dr. Laura Spencer Horton on
October 26, 1993. She left the show in 1999. Since 1994 she is
working as a celebrity spokesperson for the Epilepsy Foundation. As
the mother of a child with epilepsy, she's experienced the ignorance
and stigma associated with the disorder. She is working to not only
raise money for research, but to educate the public. She is doing so
till today. Born in Phoenix, Arizona on March 9th,1949 , Bauer comes
from a family of four children. She moved to Chicago and began
modeling when she was in her late teens. She later moved to Los
Angeles, where she landed many television roles. She made her network
debut on "Bronk," opposite Tommy Lee Jones. Bauer soon after made her
daytime-drama debut as Lauralee Brooks on "The Young and the
Restless." She also guest-starred on numerous prime-time programs,
including "The Young Riders,", "Chips", "S.W.A.T", "Knots Landing,"
"Fantasy Island," "Hotel," "Love Boat," "Mike Hammer," "Bare Essence"
and Judith Krantz's "Secrets." Her feature-film credits include
"Young Doctors in Love," "K-God" and "Centerfold Girls." Her stage
credits include "Plaza Suite" and "Extremities." Bauer is married to
songwriter and makeup artist Jeremy Swan. They have two sons and a
daughter - Damien (22),Gabriel (19) Angelica (13).
(Marcus Hunter)
Richard went to school at University of Southern California, where he
studied drama.
(Brady Black)
On January 10th, 1997, the twins turned five years old, celebrating
with a memorable trip to Disneyland. Eric and Brandon also like the
fact that at the grown-up age of five they get to stay up late and
don't have to take naps. Eric and Brandon have an older brother,
David, 11. When not acting, the boys like to play on their trampoline
and with their dog, Zack, and a cat named Kitty. They love to go
camping and fishing, and play all sports. Eric and Brandon's favorite
snack is pickles and beef jerky. Eric and Brandon took over the role
of Brady on Days in September 1994. The boys' first role was on The
Young and Restless. They appeared in one scene. For additional pics
of Eric
and Brandon, take a look at their
Children of Salem Page.
(Bart, Stefano's henchman)
Days fans may recognize him as Stefano's bumbling sidekick Bart, but
jazz fans are coming to know Steve Blackwood as a talented vocal
artist. Steve recently released a CD titled I Don't Worry Bout A
Thing, featuring his unique reworkings of standards like "Black
Coffee," "All of Me," "My Baby Just Cares for Me" and "Stompin at the
Savoy." The collection has been getting great reviews, and is such a
quick seller that it's becoming hard to find! To order a copy, send a
check for $12.99 to Newborn Jazz, 4114 Warner Blvd, Unit C, Burbank
CA 91505. Steve is happy to autograph the CD (at no additional cost),
if you so wish. Steve has also recorded a VH1 special soundtrack,
Frank Sinatra: They Were Very Good Years, which has been airing on
VH1 recently. Steve sings the title song, "Frank's Tune". It's
available through the production company Just Jazz, at 10520 Magnolia
Blvd., North Hollywood CA 91601.
(Celeste)
When Tanya was cast on Days, the producers asked her to create an
accent for Celeste. She doesn't classify her accent as European or
Cajun, as some might think, but as Cartoon. "I was watching
television and Rocky and Bullwinkle came on," she says. "There was
Boris and Natasha." And the rest is history. Tanya first appeared on
Days on April 11, 1994. In 1988, she appeared in a TV-movie called
"Tricks of the Trade" starring Cindy Williams (from Laverne and
Shirley) and Markie Post (Night Court). Tanya played a prostitute who
was a friend of Markie Post's. Tanya admits that the fad she's
recently tried out is purple, blue, yellow, and green nail polish.
Her favorite actors are Orson Wells, Sir Laurence Oliver and Bette
Davis. Her favorite movie is Days of Wine and Roses while her
favorite TV show is I Love Lucy. She loves Thai and Italian food as
well as fruit, but dislikes oatmeal. If she had one wish, "There
would be no more killing." It bothers her to see such disrespect
given to the elderly in this country. Her most treasured possession
is her family photos. Her greatest love is "GOD, GOD, and GOD!!" She
prays first thing in the morning and just before going to bed. Her
epitaph is: "life is good and always right, so go for it!"
(Donna Craig)
Tracey's great uncle is Jule Styne, the composer of Funny Girl. She
started on Days at age 14. It was her first soap role. She was born
in Munich, Germany and spent the first 10 years of her life living in
England. As a youngster, Tracey had such a huge crush on David
Cassidy that she wangled a visit to the set of The Partridge Family
and wound up having lunch with America's then #1 heartthrob.
Twenty-five years later, Bregman re-encountered Cassidy again, when
-- talk about coincidences -- he bought her parents'
house.
(Stella Lombard)
Elaine played the mom in the family in the movie Uncle
Buck. She co-starred with Linda Bove
(from Sesame Street) in 1987 Random House Video, "Sign Me a Story" as
American Sign Language interpreter.
(Peter Blake)
Before making it as an actor, Jason (at age 21) and a friend were the
founders of Island Yogurt, a successful non-fat yogurt company. Some
of Jason's favorites:
Animal--cat
Phrase--"To each his own"
Children's Story--Pinocchio
Jason joined the Days cast on Sept. 1, 1993. He studied business
administration at both the University of Arizona and San Diego
University. His first show-business job was in a studio mail room. He
played Spa Guy #1 in the movie Captain America. Jason was born in
Colorado Springs, Colorado. He tested for the role of Austin at the
same time as Patrick Muldoon. The Days casting agent loved Jason, but
said he played the role a little older than they wanted to go. When
the character of Peter came up, they hired Jason without another
audition. Jason is nearsighted and wears glasses off the set.
Richard
Burgi
(Phillip Collier)
Richard played another Phillip in the 1989 TV movie Chameleons. His
other soap role was in the late 80s, when he played Chad Rollo on
Another World. Chad's sister, Dawn was one of the first soap
characters to have AIDS.
(Harris Michaels)
Steve's parents divorced when he was two. He was raised in Cleveland,
Ohio, and then moved out to California to be with his dad.
(Belle Black #4)
Chelsea is just one month younger than the character of Belle, having
been born in November 1993. Chelsea has an older sister named Gena
(Genevieve) who is five years older than she is and also an actress.
Both Chelsea and her sister were in the January 1997 movie
Deceiver.
Gena played Mary Kennesaw and Chelsea played Chelsea Kennesaw, the
children of actors Michael Rooker and Rosanna Arquette. Chelsea
filmed the role (her first) on location in Charleston, S.C. one month
prior to her third birthday. Also starring in the film, released
through MGM, is Tim Roth, Renee Zelleweger and Chris Penn. Chelsea
loves to swim and to play on the swings. She has two dogs, Endora and
Miranda. They are sisters and are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. She
also has a cat named Nick and two fish, one named Cleo and the other
Goldie. She loves to eat bananas and apples and she likes jelly
sandwiches cut into circles. (She is allergic to peanut butter).
Chelsea loves to go to pre-school. She also loves to go fishing at
her summer home in Montana. Although she didn't get there in the
summer of 98, due to her Days schedule, she hopes to go in the winter
to ski. She loves making snowmen and playing in the snow. She also
likes to bumper bowl and to sleep in a tent. Her daddy is a famous
filmmaker, Bill Butler, A.S.C.. He is a Cinematographer, some of his
credits are Jaws, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Conversation,
Biloxi Blues, Rocky II, III & IV, Anaconda (Chelsea and sister
Gena went to the Amazon--Manous, Brazil), Stripes, Grease, The Thorn
Birds, etc. For additional pics of Chelsea,
take a look at her Children of Salem Page.
(Jennifer Blake)
Stephanie drives a big, black, four-wheel drive vehicle, because she
loves having a hig vantage point. She has an adopted black cat named
Boots, who used to hang out on her apartment roof. She likes Thai
food, hot and spicy, which she eats with 7-Up. She enjoys cooking
Pasta with chicken-apple sausages. She likes all kinds of music
except heavy metal. She can often be found rock climbing, snorkeling
and scuba diving. Her favorite movie is Breakfast at Tiffany's and
her favorite sitcom is Seinfeld. Before modeling, during high school,
she was a sales clerk in a clothing boutique. She likes to wear
clothes that are sophisticated and casual. She wears a lot of basic
black.
(Harper Deveraux)
Joseph appeared on an episode of The Golden Girls where he played an
undercover police detective who was part of a stakeout at the girls'
house. His partner was played by George Clooney.
(Andrew Donovan #1)
Bobby was born on April 2, 1986 and began his acting career three
weeks later. He got into show biz because a talent scout was visiting
a friend (who was a co-worker of Bobby's grandma) and saw some
pictures of Bobby. She called his mom and he started working soon
after. At his audition for Days, Bobby and his mom waited for two
hours, then the agent took one glance at Bobby and told his mom,
"We'll call you." That evening, the call came to start work on DAYS
in three days. Bobby's other professional experience includes: Cable
TV's Faerie Tale Theatre in the "Ponce De Leon" episode with Michael
York. Bobby played Ponce's grandson. The following info is from an
interview with his mom in 1987: Bobby's favorite food is Pizza and
his least favorite are vegetables. His favorite song is "Do the Hokey
Pokey." "Bobby loves everyone at Days. They're really great and give
him crackers and cookies (and sometimes even Twinkies). Stephen
Nichols always has a lollipop waiting for Bobby when he comes off the
set." The best unplanned moment during taping occurred in a scene
outside the Brady Fish Market when Victor told Shawn and Caroline
that their daughter, Kimberly, used to be a prostitute. Shawn and
Caroline both said, "What?" Then, Andrew looked up at Kimberly, his
mom, and said, "What?" Everyone was quite surprised. For additional
pics of Robert,
take a look at his Children of Salem Page.
(Grace Jeffries)
Sandra attended Charlotte Amalie High School, St. Thomas, Virgin
Islands, and graduated in 1983. Her older sister, Lisa, attended the
same school and is now a correspondent on Entertainment Tonight. The
girls also have twin siblings, a boy and a girl.
(Tom Horton)
Days was the first soap to sign a movie star to their show when they
snagged Mac in 1965. He had starred opposite Marilyn Monroe in
"Let's
make it legal." It was filmed in 1951,
and also starred Claudette Colbert, Robert Wagner, Zachary Scott, and
Barbara Bates. He was a contract player for Paramount, appearing in
such films as The
Great Gatsby and John Paul Jones. He
was one of the first daytime actors to win an Emmy when the Academy
of TV Arts and Sciences established a category for daytime
programming.
(Will Reed)
Taylor and Shawn were born in Riverside, California, and lived in
Lake Elsinore when they began playing the part of Will at six weeks
of age. They have brown hair and blue eyes and are identical twins.
They have since moved to the Los Angeles area in order to be closer
to the set. They also appeared in a network promo. Their mother is a
kindergarten teacher. When the boys see themselves on TV, they say
"baby" or "brother," but they seem unable to differentiate which of
them is on the screen. When they were infants, their mom painted
their toenails different colors so she could tell them apart. Now
Taylor is a little bigger than Shawn. The twins are very outgoing and
even rowdy in their dressing room, but get very serious when they
come onstage, as though they understand that they are at work. For
additional pics of Shawn
and Taylor, take a look at their
Children of Salem Page.

Christie first began on Days in 1986. She left the show in 1991 and
returned on Dec. 18, 1992. She attended Yorba Linda Middle School for
Junior High and was the homecoming queen in high school. Christie, a
snowboarding enthusiast, went looking for fashionable clothes to
sport on the slopes and found a serious lack of outfits for women. So
she created a line called Monkeywench, "one of the first companies to
design snowboarding clothes just for women," says Clark. The company
has also expanded, now doing more streetwear--shorts, sundresses,
t-shirts, hiphugger skirts. The one thing she says she couldn't live
without is her boyfriend, Kent. She describes her first day on the
set as "scary--I was in my PJ's." She would most like to visit
Ireland. She thinks it's the most romantic place in the world.
Christie appeared on General Hospital in the short term role of Cindy
in 1992, during the time she was away from Days. She appeared in a TV
commercial for SheRa, Princess of Power in 1983. She appeared as
Angela Walsh in Nightmare on Elmstreet 2, Freddy's Return. For
