THE STORYLINE

Susan gave birth to Richard "Dickie" Martin, and she & David were happy, despite Julie's manipulations to keep them apart. Susan plotted to get even with Julie when she had the chance.

Helen & John Martin were happy to see their grandchild baptised, and then Susan happily kissed her child and was now secure with David, until tragedy struck. David was playing with Dickie on a baby swing, the baby fell out and struck his head and died instantly. Dr. Tom Horton informed Susan that they did all they could to save the baby. Dr. Cooper tried to save the baby as well.

Julie plotted to get David back, and a call from Addie Olson, her mother, changed her plans. She was angry and resentful of her mother. Susan went home with David, and in a grief stricken state, she grabbed a gun and shot David dead.

Julie learned David was dead by Mickey, Tom & Laura. Susan went to jail, and went on trial and Mickey defended her, as Laura was her psychiatrist.

Then Mickey & Laura came up with an "innocent by reason of insanity" strategy, and Susan didn't take it. She plead guilty instead.

Then Susan escaped from prison, only to face Helen Martin, who was grief stricken that her son was taken from her. Helen shot Susan in the chest. Susan survived but had a serious heart problem that Tom took care of later on.

Susan put David in the past and moved on with her life.

Julie gave up her son (David Banning) up for adoption, but got him back years later.
