IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. There a few ways to get onto IRC. Some internet accounts have IRC built in, so all you need to do is type IRC at your prompt. Other accounts do not have this. If you are using Netscape or Mosaic to view this, then you are using some type of SLIP emulator, such as Trumpet Winsock, Win 95 Network Dial-up, or MAC PPP. If this is so, all you need to do is download the program mIrc (Windows) or Homer (Mac) or another IRC program, and run it after you have logged on with your SLIP or PPP Emulator. You can even run it while you have Netscape or Mosaic going. To get mIrc type in the keyword mIrc at www.yahoo.com. As for Online services such as Prodigy, AOL, and Compuserve, you may need to contact them about using IRC.
