MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22ND, 2003

It's time for the Christening, but Abe is a no-show as everyone
begins to get concerned. Brady knows there is something strange
going on at the Kiriakis Mansion. Seven suspects look and act
very guilty after Abe is shot - did one of them do it? With the
exception of the actions at the Mansion and at Salem Place, this
show is pretty much intertwined and chronological and takes place
almost entirely at St. Lukes. So I will try and recount it in the
same manner. There are lots of little conversations going on and
I will try and remember most of them as best as I can. Please
forgive me if I omit things.
To start the show, there is an almost EXACT replay of the way
that Friday's show ends, with all the suspects either acquiring
or holding or looking at their guns, making their threats against
Abe, Roman tells Kate that he has something he wants to ask her
later and after he heads to the church, she says to herself
"You have left me no choice Abe". There is an entire
replay of Sami breaking in and stealing the gun, Lucas fingers
his gun saying that there is no way he is going to let Abe Carver
ruin his mother's life, Brady is looking for both Nicole and
Victor as Nico tells him he doesn't know where they are. We then
see both of them walking along with guns muttering about Abe.
Tony looks at his gun as he reads the headline from the paper.
Rex is stumbling along having one of his headaches.
At St. Luke's
Just before this, Lexie is on the phone with Abe asking him
to stay at home a bit longer, at least until after 12. They say
their "I love you's" to each other and she heads into
the church, telling everyone that all is okay. She breaks down as
Celeste tries her best to comfort her. Jennifer continues to
worry about Jack as well. As the bells chime, everyone else
arrives (Belle, Shawn, John, Cassie, Roman, Caroline and Philip
all arrive at once). John looks around and asks why is everyone
so tense. As the bells continue to chime, Abe picks up the family
picture, then heads out the door. At the same time, Jack is
heading out his door and stops as he hears a bang off in the
distance. Mimi rushes in apologizing for being late and wonders
where Rex is. He stumbles into the vestibule, still having a
headache and falls down as Caroline rushes in asking what is
wrong. He explains that he just tripped and she goes for water.
Jennifer explains to John what is going on as we see Tony on his
cellphone to "father" telling him that it has all been
taken care of. We then see a shot of Abe lying on his front lawn,
with a pool of blood forming under his head as the bells continue
to chime.
At Salem Place
Sami runs into Lucas (literally) as he asks what is wrong with
her. She brushes him off and hurries along as he puts his hand on
his gun. Kate is also milling around, trying to calm herself
down, saying what is done is done. A shaken Sami goes to the Java
Café and orders coffee as the waitress notes that she doesn't
look as if she needs any. To herself she mutters "I had to
do it" and that she must now get rid of the gun. Lucas spots
Kate and asks her what is wrong and if she is still upset about
Abe. He tells her that Abe is not a threat anymore. She cries and
apologizes for being a mess. As they talk, Roman calls her,
asking where she is. She tells him that she will be there shortly.
He tells her that Abe isn't there and asks if she has seen him.
But she doesn't answer and Roman thinks the call was dropped. She
hangs up, crying as Lucas tells her it is all taken care of. She
hugs him and feels the gun. She makes him open his jacket and
asks why he has it. He says "I think you know."
Meanwhile, Sami makes her way back to the security locker to
return the gun. She wipes it clean and replaces it, just as the
security guard sees her and yells "What are you doing?"
At The Kiriakis Mansion
Victor returns home and puts the gun away in a drawer, just as
Brady walks in asking what he's doing and tells him that he looks
faint. Outside, Nicole is taking hit from her flask as she pulls
out the gun and wipes it clean. She says that crime doesn't pay,
but sometimes a girl doesn't have any choice. She apologizes to
Brandon saying how ironic it is that his new-found father is the
one who almost put the final nail in her coffin. Nicole comes in,
heading straight for the liquor cabinet as Brady is talking about
the Christening and the Carvers. She drops her drink, saying she
can't take it anymore. Brady asks why she is upset but Victor
orders her upstairs, then proceeds to throw a glass of water in
her face to calm her down. But she rushes outside instead. Brady
goes to follow her and Victor warns him to stay out of it, if he
knows what is good for him. Outside, Nicole says that she must
get rid of the gun and reaches into her purse just as a gloved
hand reaches out from the bushes and clasps a hand over her mouth
and yanks her in. Brady pays no heed to Victor and goes outside,
finding a handkerchief on the ground. He sniffs it and realizes
it's Nicole's.
Back At St. Luke's
Jack walks into the vestibule (as Rex is hiding the gun in his
pocket) and asks what he is up to and they argue, just as
Jennifer gets a text message that Jack is on his way. Tony also
arrives about this time. Father Jansen asks what the hold up is
as Lexie explains that Abe should be there shortly. Jack joins
Jennifer and tells her about hearing the noise as he was leaving
and that it sounded like a gunshot. He also tells her that he
thinks Rex was acting strange when he got there. She warns him to
stay away from Rex. Outside, Mimi questions Rex as to where he
was (as Belle and Shawn walk up and overhear). Shawn also wants
to know. Rex lies and says that he was in the small chapel on the
grounds, but Maggie says she was there and didn't' see him. He
explains that he was lying down and she thinks that maybe she
just didn't see him. Lexie talks to Tony, who tells her not to
worry and assures her that he will always see that she is safe.
Lexie goes outside to call Abe again and as we see him lying
there, his cell is ringing. John overhears Tony and Lexie, which
leads them to argue over John's distrust in Tony. Tony is
offended and says that John is the murderer, reminding him that
was how he was trained. Tony says that John was just a Pawn and
that his job was to protect the king. John says at least now, the
king is dead. The guests head back inside, except for Rex and
Mimi. He says that St. Lukes freaks him out. Mimi talks to him
about God and how peaceful she finds the gardens there. But Rex
says that he and Cassie were not created by God, but by Dr. Rolf
and Stefano in a lab. John tells Tony that if Stefano were alive,
he would do everything he could to get control of little Theo,
but he'd never get through Abe. Tony mutters not to count on that.
Bo and Roman are getting more and more concerned about Abe not
showing up and decide that maybe they need to go and look for him
when Lexie gets back inside. Lexie tells Tony that she is
terribly worried as we again see Abe lying on the lawn. He moves
his fingers, then groans "Lexie". Inside, John, Bo,
Roman and Hope talk about how things aren't right and John has a
feeling that Tony is up to something. They all decide to go out
and search for Abe. Mickey sits with Alice in the back of the
church, wishing she could do something to help. Mickey tells her
to pray, but she tells him that she feels it is too late for that.
Tony tells Lexie that he will go and look for Abe himself and
leaves. In the garden, he whips out his cell phone and calls
"father", telling him that everything went as planned (as
John follows him and is listening). John steps out from behind a
bush and yanks the phone away, saying "GOTCHA" and asks
"who the hell do we have here?" Belle mentions
something about marriage as Shawn explains that he has to finish
school first. Then they sneak off to the bridal room to smooch as
Mimi continues to talk to Rex about God. Rex says that if there
were a God, he wouldn't care about him, especially after what he
has done. Celeste takes Zack and Isaac to the nursery to wait and
tells Lexie to let her know when they are ready to start. Lexie
goes back into the church and wonders where everyone is as Maggie
explains that they went to search for Abe. Lexie breaks down,
just wanting to see him walk through the door. In the nursery,
Celeste rocks Theo, humming to him as she has a flash of her
nightmare and seeing Abe in the casket. She screams "ABRAHAM!
NO!!!" as it cuts to one final shot of Abe lying on his
front lawn and it fades to black and the previews roll.
Preview:
Belle asks Shawn "Oh my God, Shawn, are you proposing to
me?" Cassie (to Philip): "I knew it, I KNEW you had a
plan to break up Belle and Shawn". Nicole is holding her gun
(looks like she is pointing it at someone) saying "It's time
I took control of my own destiny". Jennifer (to Jack) "We're
partners in every way, remember? Now, let's go together and find
Abe". Tony (on his phone): "By the time John has a clue
what has been done, it will never be UNdone (as we see a shot of
Abe lying there).
Laney
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD, 2003

Only got 5 minutes of
the feed today as it started late. Barb and Laney might want to
add to this summary (assuming THEIR tape ran longer then mine did)].
Shawn and Belle kiss in the brides room at the church. Belle
said it's bad luck and he tells her she'll be a bride someday and
he loves her. She asks if he's proposing, but he just smiles.
Nicole leaves the mansion, pausing to fondle her gun outside
again, saying she needs to get rid of it. A man wearing a dark
suit and grey long sleeved shirt and gloves, puts his hand over
her mouth and pulls her into the bushes. Inside, Brady tells
Victor he loves and respects him, but also is worried about
Nicole and takes off after her. He finds her soiled hanky on the
sidewalk out front.
At Salem Place, Jenn and Jack split up to look for Abe. She hopes
he's only late due to picking up a gift for Theo...
And my tape stopped. Sorry folks. Check back later in case
Barb, Laney or some other viewer with more of the show than I got
emails me with a summary.

Here's a bit more. We have replays of various scenes
from Monday's show. Brady finding Nicole's hankie, Celeste
rocking Theo and seeing Abe in the coffin vision, Sami trying to
put back the gun, Kate wanting to see Lucas's gun ......At the
church, Lexie is beside herself, crying, etc. as she has strong
feeling something has happened to Abe. Maggie trys to comfort
her, encouraging her to go to the nursery and hold her baby.
Outside, John is unsuccessful in trying to find out who Tony was
talking to on the phone, and the two have their usual sparring
conversation. Mimi & Rex sit in a quiet garden, talking about
God. Rex doesn't believe in him, and says if there really was a
God, he couldn't love him (Rex) after the things he has done, but
claims he only means the way he has treated Mimi. Mimi tries to
reassure Rex that he may have been created in a petrie dish, but
there is a purpose for him. Rex doesn't buy it.
At Victor's house, Brady cannot find any sign of Nicole, and goes
back in the house. In the bushes, we see the gloved hand belongs
to Nico, who tells Nik he is stronger than her, stop struggling,
& that he intends to take her to her bedroom, (to lock her
in, I guess). She spots the gun on the ground, breaks free, and
holds the gun on Nico.
At the mall, the guard catches Sami at the lockbox, and threatens
to tell the nearby cop (Roman). A nervous Sami sputters out that
the box was open, the guard remembers locking it, but she then
claims she saw a kid fooling around inside, scared him away, saw
there was a gun in there, etc. etc. The guard buys it. Roman,
meanwhile is on phone to Bo, and comments that John is
questioning Tony, their main suspect. (Egads....does NO ONE think
to check Abe's house?) Kate questions Lucas as to why he is
carrying a gun, but he says only for protection, as a DiMera
employee. Kate doesn't like it, but Lucas reminds her he once
saved her life with a gun, when he shot Franco Kelly. She should
be thankful he knows his way around a firearm. Meanwhile, Jack
& Jennifer are meeting up with Tommy, Bo's snitch. Jack
claims he knows everything that goes on in Salem. Tommy arrives,
admires Jennifer, comments she is Hope's cousin but they don't
look alike. Jack "ahems" & Tommy gets down to brass
tacks. He cannot help them with the Commander Carver situation,
but will lead them to "Darkside" (& don't ask, he
says, how the guy got that name). Jack & Jen follow Tommy,
whispering the name "Darkside" to each other.
And that is the end of MY tape....Got only about 20 minutes
of the show.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2003

And the beat goes on, as Salemites either worry, continue to
search for Abe, or lament over their situations, while Nicole's
excuses are all wet and Jack's life hangs in the balance. (Let me
say here, that tho I really am very happy to see so many of the
cast being used, it was hard keeping track of all the short,
little scenes, but have done my best).
Shawn & Belle, resplendent in wedding gown
& tux, dance together, then to the sofa for a little makeout
session. They talk of their purity rings, and waiting until there
are wedding rings on their fingers to consummate their love.
Belle has a small fantasy about their future wedding, with
Caroline, Maggie & Alice in the bride's room with her, Mimi
& Sami coming in dressed in red bridesmaid dresses, and
finally Shawn coming in spoiling her "groom should not see
the bride" idea. In real time she scolds Shawn, who then has
a tiny fantasy of his own, saying he could not wait to see his
bride. In real time, Caroline comes into the bride's room, Belle
apologizes for trying on the dress. Caroline chats about hope
chests and wedding trunks, and says that even if you love
someone, you may not end up with that person, citing Roman as an
example. Cue Victor coming in, to agree, saying Caroline is very
wise (they exchange "looks"), and as Vic & Caroline
leave the room, he mentions how Caroline looked just like that
when they were in high school.
Mimi & Rex are in the church, with Mimi talking about the
bible verse "where two people are gathered in my name",
& saying this is why people join hands when praying the Our
Father. She holds Rex's hand,and begins to recite the prayer, but
he stops her, saying he cannot do this. He comes down with
another of his headaches, & Mimi goes to look for aspirin for
him. Outside, in the garden, Tony is talking to "Father"
again, saying that when the people of Salem realize what he has
done, they will be praying to God, and begging for mercy
Nicole Is On The Docs, talking to her gun, when Brady
arrives, asking what she is doing. She puts the gun behind her
back, dropping it into the river. She smiles as she explains it
was silly, but she dropped a rock into the water, making a wish.
He questions her, they argue a bit, she turns to stalk off and
falls into the water. Naturally, Brady jumps in to rescue her. As
they both stand dripping, he encourages her to find a new life,
but she has to go home, and get locked in her room again. He
invites her to the Christening, saying that the ceremony is
probably over by now, but the party has probably begun. She
claims not have been invited, but he insists that since Victor
was, as his wife, she would have been, too.
At Salem Place, the guard continues to give Sami a hard
time about his unlocked cabinet, but Sami, worried about Roman
seeing her, gives it right back. She talks about him putting his
loaded weapon into a flimsy lockbox, etc. etc, and talks her way
out of trouble. She sees Roman has gone, and tells Dave (his name
tag) she was only trying to help, cuz she wouldn't want him to
lose his job, like she recently did hers, says her name is Sandy
Smith, and leaves after he thanks her. Puleeze.
Kate talks to Lucas about her past, the despicable things she had
to do for Stefano, and claims Abe may cost her Roman. Of course,
Roman overhears this, but she squirms out of it, saying that with
Abe retiring, she will probably see less and less of Roman, as it
will mean more work for him. He denies it, and somehow drops the
ring box. Lucas picks it up for him, Kate sees it, Lucas leaves,
Roman says the cat is out of the bag, but now not the time. He
kisses Kate.
Sami sees this, mutters to herself she will see Kate dead before
letting her marry her dad, and trots off to Java Café for a
double Expresso. She is rude to the waitress, calling her a b**ch,
(& it would be a cold day you know where, before Sami would
get her order if I was that waitress!). Lucas joins her, &
they chat, with Sami insisting that Brandon is coming back to
her, & Lucas reminding her about the annulment papers. (Yawwnn,
same ol, same ol)
Jack & Jennifer arrive at a dark factory, which turns
out to be in the business of acid production. We see a vat of
acid bubbling away (Hope would have nightmares if she saw this,
but admit it reminded me of Rolf & Bart, disposing of Marlo's
bones. Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble) and Jen has the creeps.
They talk of having to meet Darkside in this creepy place, that
was supposed to be abandoned. Lights go on, & Jen goes into
an elevator, presses the button, doors close, and she yells for
Jack (well, gee, what did you expect, Jen?) He comes running, too
late. Uh, oh, we hear the squeal of a rat, Jen screams, manages
to get out of elevator at an upper level. She gets out, Jack has
gotten up there another way and they are on a flimsy metal cat
walk of some kind. He comes to her, the walk gives way, and Jack
is dangling above the bubbling vat of acid. Jen lays down,
grabbing his hands. She is screaming for help, Jack is telling
her he loves her as he tries to hold on. He doesn't think he can
make it, falls even further, but grabs onto the metal openings
again. Just then Tommy arrives, helps Jen, and they pull Jack up
to safety. He tells them that he got a call from Darkside, who
could not make it, so came over to tell them. He also tells them
that Darkside told him the cop they had asked Tommy about has
taken a bullet! Jen & Jack exchange fearful looks.
Back At The Church Lexie is questioning her mother's tears,
She knows it has to be about Abe. The camera goes to Abe, still
lying in the pool of blood. Abe manages to turn on his cell
phone, pressing the speed dial # to Lexie's phone. Lexie realizes
it is Abe, but he does not answer. (He is unconscious again).
John comes in, they take the phone outside for better signal, but
still no reply from Abe. John uses some laser like device on the
phone that will show him Abe's location where he last used HIS
phone. (Don't ask, just a small red light). He is astonished at
what it tells him. (Yes folks, the Salem brain had to be asleep
today, or else the only person using it was maybe Theo) He calls
Roman, telling him to get over to Abe's house. Roman gets the
call at Salem Place, tells Kate he has a clue about where Abe is.
When he is gone, she looks at her reflection in a store window,
which is her former blond persona, and it says, You did what you
had to do.
John & Roman meet up at Abe's house, go thru a gate, and find
him (about time!). Roman calls 911, as they both tell Abe to hang
on. Roman goes to get Lexie, while John holds Abe's head, telling
his partner help is on the way, don't leave.
At the church, Mickey, Maggie, Alice, Caroline, Victor, Celeste
& Lexie are all gathered in the vestibule. The door opens,
and a figure, bathed in white light, comes in. Lexie calls out
Abe's name, but the figure comes in. Roman. Lexie takes one look
at his face, and starts sobbing, NO, No, No. Back at Abe's house,
John is telling Abe to hang on, as he yells ń where are those
paramedics?
Preview:
Bo doing chest compressions (CPR) on Abe, as Hope says
encouraging words to Abe, and John hold Abe's head. Belle
saying she doesn't know how Rex could have shot Abe, as Cassie
defends him and Shawn repeats his "Rex is a potential
murderer" mantra. Lucas asking Sami what she did, & Sami
replying she took Abe out of the equation. Victor telling
Brady & Nicole that Abe was shot to death (yes, that is the
statement he used). Brady says how horrible, while Nicole thinks
to herself that it is not horrible, couldn't be more perfect.

prayers. She is having surgery today. I am
helping Maria out with the spoilers while she is with her mother.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2003

Everyone finally finds out what happened to Abe as he is rushed
to the hospital, all the suspects converge to the trauma center,
with the exception of Victor and Nicole, who find themselves
under Brady's suspicion.
Brady, Nicole & Victor
Brady and Nicole are still at the pier as she continues to talk
in circles, saying that Abe is no longer a threat to her. When
Brady questions her, she says that she isn't going to let his
suspicion get to her anymore. Brady convinces her that they
should go to the Christening and she thinks that since they are
soaking wet, they should go home and change first. On the way
home, they stop by Salem Place and buy a gift for Theo. When they
get home, they are greeted by Victor, who gives them the news
about Abe, noting that he was shot to DEATH (hmmm, why did he say
THAT?) Brady says how horrible it is, as Nicole thinks that it
couldn't be more perfect. Inside, they turn on the news and
Victor suggest that Brady go and get them all some tea. Nicole
and Victor discuss how their wishes have come true. Brady returns
and speculates about who could have done this. He thinks that
they (Victor and Nicole) should be concerned and that if they are
responsible, they could be in even more trouble. Victor assures
him that they had nothing to do with the shooting (calling Brady
Hercule Poirot on the Orient Express, LOL). Brady assures them
that between Bo, John and Roman, they WILL find the shooter. The
news comes back on, reporting that Abe is still alive, causing
concerned looks from both Victor and Nicole.
At Salem Place
Sami and Lucas are still at the Java Café and she informs Lucas
that Abe is not a problem anymore, she has removed him from the
equation. When Lucas questions her about it, she just says that
she has realized that Abe isn't the problem, it is her and that
she is going to change. Lucas thinks that she is acting strange
and hiding something, but she says she has just decided to not
blame Abe anymore for her misfortune. Meanwhile, Kate is still
wandering around worrying. She fondles her gun and contemplates
getting rid of it, just as Will walks up asking what she is doing.
Sami and Lucas walk up as Will tells them all that he just saw on
TV that Abe Carver was shot as the other three exchange guilty
looks. Lucas suggest they all head to the hospital. Sami takes
will and heads off as Kate and Lucas point out how the other
should be relieved about Abe's demise.
At The Carver Residence
John is working on Abe as Bo and Hope arrive to sirens in the
background. Bo and John work on him begging him to live. The cops
and paramedics arrive and get no pulse. They shock him and
continue to work until they decide it is time to call the time of
death. At the last minute, they get a weak pulse and rush him off
to the hospital, with John along. Bo and Hope stay behind to wait
on Forensics.
At St. Luke's
Lexie continues to worry as Roman arrives with the bad news. As
everyone gathers around, Lexie falls to pieces and Alice says
that he prophecy has come true. Jack and Jen arrive and realize
that their information was correct (about the shooting). Roman
explains to a sobbing Lexie that it doesn't look good and she
rushes off to check on Theo, followed by Maggie and Caroline.
Mickey offers to take Alice home, but she refuses, wanting to
stay and pray for Abe. Roman vows revenge to Tony as they argue
and Roman brings up references to the movie Godfather. Shawn
notes that Rex doesn't seem upset as Cassie walks up and takes up
for him. They argue about Rex's guilt/innocence as Shawn chants
his daily mantra about Rex being responsible for his parents'
attack. He tells them that he believes that Rex is a potential
murderer. Mimi can't believe that Rex isn't upset but he claims
that he hardly knew Abe. Mickey, Alice and Celeste pray in the
sanctuary as both Alice and Celeste feels that something good has
happened and Celeste notes that she feels that good is winning
over evil. Lexie returns and asks Roman to take her to Abe. Bo
calls and tells them that Abe is still alive and being rushed to
the hospital, so Roman, Lexie, Jack and Jen take off. They are
followed shortly by Tony, Rex and Cassie. After everyone has
left, Mickey tells Alice that he and Maggie are taking the kids
home and wants her to go with them, but she wants to stay and
pray. Alone, she sees a vision of Tom and asks "It isn't
over yet, is it?"
At The Hospital
Abe is rushed into the trauma center as Lexie and Roman arrive
shortly thereafter. She wants to go to him and help them save his
life. (I guess she had better, since it seems that they have
fired all the other doctors ;-) John and Roman watch as she
hovers over him, begging him to live. Roman calls Kate and
informs her that Abe isn't dead and asks her to come to the
hospital. She doesn't really want to, but finally concedes. Lexie
sits by Abe, begging him to live as we see flashbacks of Theo's
birth and other good times as his monitor goes crazy. Kate
arrives outside and is informed that she must go through a metal
detector. So she dumps her gun in the bushes. Roman, Jack and
Jennifer talk about who could be responsible as Victor, Nicole,
Tony and Rex are all mentioned, with Jack pointing out that Abe
was investigating them all. Jen worries that Jack could be the
next victim. Bo and Hope arrive now. Tony questions Celeste about
her premonitions (as Cassie comments that seeing the future is
"cool". What a twit). Sami is now there with Belle and
Shawn, going on and on about how worried she is about Abe. Belle
and Shawn talk about how odd she is behaving. As Shawn continues
to keep an eye on Rex, Mimi suggests they go home. But he says he
isn't going anywhere until he knows Abe is dead. As Kate and
Lucas talk, Sami walks up asking if Kate is worried that Lucas
shot Abe. Lucas swears he had nothing to do with it but knows
someone who had a motive and glares at Sami. Tony asks Celeste to
help him convince Lexie to move to the mansion if Abe dies as she
only glares at him. Bo asks Jack if he wants protection but he
says that he wants to continue his investigation and set himself
up as bait, which infuriates Jen. Lexie comes out and informs
everyone that Abe is stable now and they are taking him to
surgery and asks everyone to pray for him. As they wheel him off,
a cop comes in with a gun they found in the bushes outside. Roman
thinks that the person who shot Abe may be in this room. He says
that as soon as they recover the slug, they will try to match it
to this gun and may find out who the shooter is. Flash to Kate,
then Lucas, Sami, Rex then freeze frame on Tony.
Preview:
Belle warns Shawn to stop going after Rex, if he IS guilty,
Shawn could be next. Rex is ranting to Mimi about Shawn saying if
he were a killer, that PUNK would be next on his hit list. John
is telling Bo and Hope that Abe must have known his attacker and
trusted them as a friend. Lucas telling (a shocked) Sami that she

Kudos to Renee Jones today as Lexie sits anxiously by Abe,
begging him to wake up. Roman, Bo, Hope and John investigate as
the suspects watch nervously. The forensic report on the gun (Kate's)
found in the bushes arrives (darn those folks are fast!).
At The Kiriakis Mansion
Nicole and Victor watch the news update on Abe saying he's still
alive. She tells Brady NO WAY when he suggests going to the
hospital to show support. Nicole admits to praying for a "positive
outcome". Victor tells them that's what they all want, a
"successful outcome" and Brady leaves. Victor reminds
Nicole that Abe's death is no guarantee she's free and clear of
shooting Colin, saying Jack might know what Abe had found out or
thatAbe could have written something down.
In The Waiting Room At The Hospital
The surgeon reports that Abe survived the surgery, but it's too
soon to forecast beyond that. Tony informs Celeste he has rooms
ready at the mansion for her and Alexandra just in case. Celeste
listens to Tony as he makes plans for Theo before Abe's even dead.
Kate and Lucas feel obligated to be there for Jennifer and Roman
for support. Lucas comments that Roman will tear that guy (or
woman..looking at Sami) up when he finds out who shot Abe. Sami
recognizes a nurse and asks for her evaluation of Abe. The nurse
said it doesn't look good and leaves.
Lucas and Kate talk about the gun found in the bushes. He figures
the murderer is here in this room as he glances at Sami.
Privately, Tony warns Sami that it won't be long before they
start accusing her of shooting Abe while reminding her Abe kept
her from being with Brandon. Lucas tells Sami that Tony's wrong,
she's the #1 suspect. She backpedals about how Abe was like an
uncle to her, yada yada, but Lucas isn't buying it.
Belle and Shawn talk. He knows the Dimeras all want Abe dead.
Mimi is with Rex as he suffers from another of those headaches (did
Stefano have a chip planted in his brain too? Maybe that's what's
causing all those headaches, LOL) Shawn walks over and more
accusations about Rex being guilty (hopefully his impulsive
accusations will simmer as he studies law). Rex is getting tired
of being blamed and understands why his dad hates the Brady's.
Shawn vows to find the truth. Privately Belle warns Shawn to be
careful because if Rex is responsible for what happened to his
parents and Abe, he might be next.
Jennifer's daily mantra to Jack about not wanting him to be
killed continues as he insists on pursuing the story. (not sure
about you, but almost falling in a vat of hot acid would convince
me to stop!) LOL as Jennifer later reminds him about that and
vows to tell Roman about it and have him arrested for interfering
in an investigation if he doesn't stop (atta girl!).
Roman's anxious for Abe to wake up and tell him who dunnit. In
the mean time, he orders Bo and Hope to return to the crime scene
and talk to CSI (guess we just assume they officially are back on
the force). Hope wants to be there for Lexie, but Roman knows
Lexie's full attention is on Abe now. Bo figures getting the
shooter is most important now. John said he'll go with them and
Roman likes the idea. Jack wants to go too, but Roman can't let
him be part of the investigation. He does promise Jack an
exclusive though. Hope, John and Bo run into Shawn and Belle.
Shawn tells them about the run in with Rex and Bo orders Shawn to
put a lid on it and he'll find out if Tony and/or Rex had
anything to do with it. Shawn agrees.
A heartwrenching scene as a tearful Lexie sits by Abe's side
begging him to live to see their son grow up (how about changing
the soiled bandage on his neck while you're there Lexie, ugh).
His heart monitor starts beating quickly and Lexie tells him to
wake up. Later Celeste joins a distraught Lexie who tells her
mother the bullet was lodged in the back of his neck in the
spinal cord at the base of his brain. They have no idea how much
damage was done. She admits being scared and breaks down as
Celeste comforts her against her chest.
Java Café
Shawn and Belle go to Java Café for a mega cup of coffee to
settle down with. Belle wonders if there really is any "happy
ever after". Holding her hands, he assures her they'll be
together forever (uh oh, is this another clue? Is Shawn on the
hit list?) They talk about Rex's story about going to the small
chapel, but believe Maggie more.
Afternoon Delight At The Loft
Rex and Mimi go to his loft as he swigs down some more aspirin,
much to her dismay. She suggests he relax instead, but he rants
about Shawn's accusations, saying if he really was the killer,
that punk would be the next on his hit list. She asks if he's
serious. He admits wanting to, but he's not like that. They start
kissing and he wants to make love to her. She stops him,
wondering how he can want to do that after all that's happened.
He figures it would get their minds off everything else and she
buys that apparently ;-) After they make love, a close up on Mimi
as she tells Rex it was incredible. She remembers the other
couple of times it was so good, when they got rid of Dr. Rolf and
the night after Bo and Hope were attacked. She figures making
love is his way of getting rid of stress and looks up to see he's
sound asleep. She tells herself maybe it's his way of forgetting
he did something terrible?
Back At The Hospital
Tony calls Bart on the pay phone and orders him to get the gun
out of his limo in the hospital parking lot and dismantle it and
discard the different parts in different places. Bart suggests he
do it after Tony gets home LO, but Tony tells him NOW. (we don't
see or hear Bart).
Kate joins Roman and gives him a hug. He thanks her for being
there for him and Lexie. An officer shows Roman the bullet
removed from Abe and he orders it to be compared against the gun
found in the bushes. He vows to find Abe's shooter by starting
with cases Abe was working on, figuring he was close to solving
one of them and that's why he was shot. Looking at Sami, Kate
suggests Sami had issues with Abe. He can't believe her
accusation by the look on his face, but doesn't get to say
anything as Celeste calls him into the room, saying Abe's waking
up. The others gather outside as Roman and Kate rush in. Roman
encourages Abe to wake up and tell him who the bastard is that
did this to him. Abe tries to talk as we see black and white
shots of the faces of the suspects (minus Lucas).
Brady arrives as Jen goes to call Caroline with an update. Brady
talks to Sami and she asks where Nicole and Victor are. When he
says they didn't think they'd be welcome there, she agrees and
mentions how Abe was probably close to arresting Nicole for
murdering Colin. She then wonders why he's so defensive about
Nicole as she thought he didn't care for her either..but wonders
if living there and seeing step granny running around half naked
changed his attitude (LOL). He tells her she's disgusting and
couldn't be more wrong and walks away. Lucas tells her good move
making someone else look guilty.
Jack joins Sami after overhearing the above. He asks why she
feels Nicole is guilty and she reminds him about Nicole and
Colin's affair, etc.
Jennifer called Caroline on the pay phone and tells Tony that
Theo is fine, but worried he'll miss his daddy that night. Brady
talks to Jennifer and she tells him that Abe is waking up. Jack
suggests they go in, but Jennifer tells him no. Tony comments on
the extensiveness of Abe's injuries and surprised he's even
waking up. When Jack calls him on that, saying Tony might be
worried about what Abe will say, Tony snaps back on the contrary
and how Jack will owe him an apology.
Carver Yard, Bo, Hope and John examine the bloody scene where
a red outline shows where Abe was lying as well. Bo reads the
report saying Abe was shot at point blank range. John wonders how
Abe let that happen, but Bo rationalizes that Abe knew the killer
and the killer knew what precautions Abe was taking. John figures
it was an amateur as Abe's weapon was in his holster. It was
someone Abe trusted. Bo goes inside the house to investigate and
gets Abe's briefcase to take with them to look through. Brady
calls John, saying he's at the hospital. John asks if Abe's gone,
but Brady tells him no, that Roman told him to call and say Abe's
waking up (he did? When?) John tells Bo and Hope and they rush
back to the hospital. Victor turns on the tv set for an update as
we see Bo being questioned as he goes into the hospital. He tells
them that he and his wife just rejoined the police force (guess I
missed them getting their badges?) and Abe is not only their
boss, but one of their best friends. He says Abe is a loving,
caring family man and he swears to God to get the son of a bitch
who shot him. Victor warns Nicole she's in trouble now and
reminds him that Bo's his son and don't ask him to kill him when
he comes looking for Colin's killer. He knows Bo won't stop until
he finds who did it. Nicole said if she goes down, they go down
together.
The doctor joins Abe and Lexie, asking the rest to leave. Roman
tells the other that Abe tried to talk. Bo tells Roman (in front
of everyone else) that they got Abe's briefcase and PDA,
reminding Roman how thorough a cop Abe is (like Roman didn't know
that???) and how they'll go through everything for evidence. Tony
calls it a random act of violence, but John disagrees. An officer
brings the forensic report for the gun found and the bullet from
Abe and gives it to Roman. Roman opens it, saying "I'll be
damned". The bullet was too flat to id it to that gun, or
maybe any other gun. Roman tells Bo and Hope to join him as they
go in to see Abe. Roman takes Abe's hand and asks him to squeeze
it if he can hear him. He does so. Roman asks Abe to remember
just before he was shot. We see Abe's flashback as he leaves the
house to walk to the church. He sees whoever it is in the bushes
and surprised, asks what they're doing there. He answers
chuckling/smiling, assures them he's well protected by patting
his gun and his vest. The shooter's arm points (wearing a jacket
and gloves) and shoots Abe in the neck. Abe nods that he knew the
shooter as Roman asks if it was Tony, Rex, Victor or Nicole.
Lexie begs Abe to tell them so they can make the bastard pay. Abe
tries to talk.
Preview:
Mimi tells her mother she'll handle her situation with Rex in
her own way. Her mother says "meaning you'll blow it"
and Mimi shouting "NO!" John begs Abe to tell them who
did it, being he's having a hard time speaking, Abe points as we
see black and white shots of the seven suspects (hey, Rex is home
sleeping with Mimi??).
