Lots of surprises on today's show...Roman give Sami a reality check...Kate drops a bomb on Austin, who in turn prepares to drop one on Sami...and Shawn drops the mother (or should I say FATHER?) of all bombs on his folks!
Jennifer and Greta's
Jennifer and Greta are shopping at Salem Place. (What a life's all
these people do is shop, walk in the park and go ice skating!) Jack
is following them spying on them and not liking how chummy they have
become. Not to worry, they KNOW he is following them. Jen is out to
prove to Greta that Jack is lying to her about being gay. Colin walks
up and begins to flirt with them. Greta takes the lead and openly
flirts back with him. Jack can't see what is going on, so he moves in
closer. In the process, he strikes up a conversation with a woman
reading a book (who thinks he is nuts). Side note: he asks her what
she is reading?...a Mary Higgins-Clark book?...who just happens to be
one of my favorite authors. Jack still can't see, so he moves even
closer, stumbling over a trash can in the process, making a spectacle
of himself. When Colin asks to speak to Jennifer alone, Greta goes to
attend to Jack. Jack wants to know who that "gigolo" is chatting up
Jen. Jennifer is cold with Colin, miffed about how he has been
treating her lately. Liz (remember her?) sashays up, wanting to know
what is going on. He introduces her and she makes sure Jen knows she
is his fiancé, in her usual nasty way. In the meantime, Jack
is trying to get Greta to eavesdrop on them, which she refuses. Liz
goes on and on about going to look at an apartment, then leads Colin
away on his leash. Jen joins Jack and Greta (totally ignoring him)
and the girls go for coffee. Of course, Jack follows.
Hey Austin...SURPRISE!
Kate is still at Austin's place and the doctor is amazed at his
progress. Kate is pleading with him to open his eyes and he does,
sees her and says "mom". Then he drifts back off as the doctor tells
her to let him rest. Austin wanders in, shocked at what he finds. He
wants to know what is going on, as an excited Kate babbles on about
Lucas coming back to them. She gets Austin to talk to him and he
opens his eyes once again and says "Austin". Austin is in shock over
his progress as the nurse tells them to let Lucas rest. Kate and
Austin talk as she tells him that she is so happy. Austin asks about
what the plans are and she informs him that both she and Lucas are
moving in with him. I guess Austin is surprised by the look of his
bulging eyes. He worries over how Sami will take this, but Kate
doesn't care about that. She says what is important is that Lucas
will be near his son. Kate talks about how perfect everything is as
Austin has that "deer in the headlights" expression. Austin is a bit
miffed that Kate didn't discuss this with him first (well, I would be
too). She says she knew he would agree, if it would help his brother.
He urges him to go and tell Sami the news immediately. Austin tries
to stall, but she tells him that if Sami were a decent human being,
she would be happy for him. Kate says that Austin shouldn't let Sami
intimidate him (shouldn't let you mother either, Austin) and all but
pushes him out the door to Sami's.
Fireworks at Sami's Place
Sami has her own little drama going on at her place. She is
chattering away about moving to Hawaii as Roman tries to bring her
down and take off the rose-colored glasses. He tells her to grow up.
She is upset he isn't happy for her but he tells her that Hawaii has
nothing to do with it and she needs to stop her scheming and lying.
She says in his eyes she will always be the "bad seed" and Carrie
will be his favorite. She says that maybe HE should remove the
rose-colored glasses and he would see that it is Carrie who is the
tramp. (Hmmm...sure a lot of talk about Carrie lately. Is this a
hint?) She continues to run down Carrie, which pisses Roman off. She
calls him judgmental and says that he can't stop her from making her
dreams come true. She pleads her case concerning her feelings about
Lucas, but Roman sticks up for Lucas's rights to see Will. They
continue to argue as Sami continues to blast Kate and Lucas. He
accuses her of starting her marriage with lies and scheming and says
she and Austin are doomed for failure. He finally wears her down and
she promises that if/when Lucas recovers, she will take Will to
visit. (LOL...you won't even have to pack a bag, Sami!) He warns Sami
that she has no idea what she is in for because once the trust is
gone, nothing is left. She throws up that maybe he should take his
own advice, since he is a two-time loser at marriage (OUCH!) Roman
rails her out and tells her to grow up and that she isn't ready to be
MRS. ANYBODY. He says that she has a lot of growing up to do and
storms out, literally running in to Austin on his way out. In the
hall, Kate opens the door and sees Roman. Austin goes in to see Sami,
who starts doing the hula, asking him if he likes. But Austin is a
million miles away and very reluctantly tells Sami to sit down...he
has news.
Shawn Drops a Bomb...
Over at the Bradys, Shawn settles down after the Reibers leave. Bo
tells him the news about the DNA tests and Isaac actually being his
brother. But Shawn doesn't want to think about that right now. They
also tell him that John isn't the father. Shawn is confused as Bo and
Hope blame Stefano for all the problems. He (like Belle) asks the
million $ question...Just WHO is the father? And asks Bo if it is
him. Bo WISHES it was, but doesn't see how (another hint?) As Hope
watches them, has another one of her white outs. After she convinces
them that she is okay, they all sit on the sofa and discuss the
possibility of losing JT. Shawn wants them all to just take him and
run off, but Bo is the voice of reason and promises that they will
fight within the law to keep him. He says that they must make Glen
realize what is best for JT, but none of them really believe that
Glen will back down. Hope talks about how innocent and vulnerable JT
is, as are all children. This segues in to Shawn talking about
innocent children (talking about Jan's) and how they shouldn't pay
for the sins of their fathers. They question him and he admits he is
talking about Jan. Bo explains that she is pregnant. As Shawn
explains about talking her out of the abortion and her family
situation, Hope is proud of him. She is sure that he will make a good
father someday. Then he drops the bomb...telling them that day will
be sooner than they think...HE is the father. They both stare at him
in shock as Bo asks if he just said the baby was HIS? Shawn says
"Yes, I did..." and the credits roll.

Director: Herb Stein
SUMMARY: The 3's Company trio continue their antics at
Salem Place, Bo & Hope ponder Shawn's news, Belle talks w/Marlena
& Brady, while Jan & Shawn try to deal with Jan's
mother.
SPRING IS IN THE AIR... While the rest of the Midwest, where Salem is supposedly located, is still in the throes of a February winter, snowstorms, winter jackets and mittens, Salem Place's bushes are green leaves, lite outerwear - lucky folks! ..Jack is still trying to overhear what Janet & Chrissy...oops, darn, I keep forgetting...I mean Greta & Jen are up to, hoping Greta is not spilling the beans about his gay secret. Then he wonders if perhaps Jen already knows, as she has this look on her face, she is up to something. Jen is telling Greta that she has a great plan to prove whether Jack is or isn't. She calls Jack over to stop spying on them, and a policeman appears asking if they are being bothered. Jen assures him they are, but as the cop starts to haul Jack away, Greta takes pity and says it is o.k., they know him. But Jen asks the cop to detain Jack so they can get away...and poor Jack is hauled off. Greta is appalled, Jen assures her Jack knows all the cops from the Spectator days (oooh, they mentioned the paper...can we dare hope?). Jen tells Greta she plans to seduce Jack & off they go to Barron's. (What ever happened to Ballistics?) As they shop sexy dresses, Jack appears, hiding behind mannequins, (accidentally pulling off an arm) and eventually trying to explain to a suspicious saleswoman, what he is doing. He spies Greta, implores her aid in assuring this salesperson that he does NOT have an arm fetish (rotfl) and that he is gay. The woman says he cannot be gay, as no self-respecting gay man would wear that coat! LOL. As Jack begins to blurt out something about this boy...Jen walks out of the dressing room, and he just goes on...boy,oh, boy,oh boy, oh boy....Jen looks at Greta and says...Seeeeee!
AT THE PENTHOUSE...Marlena is bringing out a tea tray, as she talks to Belle about Shawn. Belle tells her how much she loves Shawn, and he is her whole life, but she is bothered by his closeness with Jan and some problem Jan has. Brady comes out, offering to take Belle to the gym, but she doesn't want to go yet. He joins in the conversation, as he and Marlena try to assure Belle her life would go on, if Shawn wasn't in it. Marlena asks if Jan has sought counseling, but Belle says Shawn is her Dr. Freud. Brady agrees that Jan has big problems, Shawn cannot handle them alone. Belle tells Brady he doesn't even know what love is, he holds himself back, and won't ever commit himself. She tells him she knows he is crazy about Chloe, but won't admit it. Brady says this conversation isn't about him...and they continue to talk about Shawn & Belle. Marlena tells her that her life would go on if Shawn was not in her world any more..it would be a loss, that loss is a part of life and we deal with it. She says how happy she is to have the two of them in her life. Brady says, me, too..MOM! Belle says...you called her MOM...She smiles, & Marlena smiles back at him. Belle says she loves them both so much, and hugs her mom. Brady says , what about me...& Belle calls him over to join in a big group hug. Awwwwwwww!
MUM'S THE WORD...Jan is sitting, leafing through a magazine, but secretly gazing at the ultra sound picture. Hearing the voice of the Mother from Hell, she quickly stuffs the pic in the pages of the mag. Mommy dearest comes into the room with a bowl of fruit, since Jan has not been eating hardly anything, tho she is getting chubby. Jan tells her Shawn is coming over to talk to her and dad, but since he is out of town, so be it. Her mother realizes Jan has been keeping something from her and wants to know what it is. As Jan picks the magazine back up, her mother grabs it out of her hands, and then goes to answer the doorbell. She tells Shawn it is not a good time, but Jan rushes in, pulls Shawn inside as Shawn says that both of Jan's parent should be there. Mommy gets suspicious, opens the magazine, sees the ultra sound picture, realizes Jan is pregnant, becomes enraged and slaps Jan across the face (like at the airport) calling her a whore. As Shawn tries to intervene, this wonderful mother (NOT!) hauls off, starts beating him with the rolled up magazine and knocks him to the floor. Jan rushes to him, he is out momentarily, has a cut over his eyebrow (wonder why the blood is not running down...just like Chloe's nosebleed -strange!). Mrs. Spears starts reading them a riot act, calling Shawn stud boy, but she & Jan get into it big time. Mom will not be able to hold her face up in her social circle, etc. etc. Jan tells her she knows her mother has always hated her, which her mother denies, they go back & forth. Jan says she is going to leave and never come back, that her mother will never see her again, and asks Shawn to take her out of there. But Mommy lays down the bomb, telling stud boy that Jan is under age and she is going to bring him up on charges of statutory rape.
AT THE BRADY'S...Shawn evasively tells his parents that he is the father of Jan's baby. Hope & Bo stare at him in disbelief, then ask if Jan's parents know. Shawn says no, he has to go right now and help Jan tell them. Bo & Hope want to go along, but Shawn says no and rushes out the door. Both Bo & Hope cannot believe this, citing how much Shawn loves Belle, how that is all he talked about when returning from Puerto Rico, and that there is something missing here (keep thinking folks, he has already told you about getting Jan to keep HER baby). Hope wonders why all this is happening to them, the possibility of losing JT, finding out Isaac is hers, Shawn's future. Bo leaves the room, and as Hope stares into the fire, the flickering flames dissolve into a complete white out. Bo comes back in, asking what is wrong, but Hope just says she was remembering how they would sit on the sofa with their two sons, eating popcorn and watching videos. She wonders how they are going to get thru all this. Bo says he doesn't know, as he gathers her in his arms. And the credits roll.

Show #: 9251
Tape Date: 2/7/02
Director: Randy J. Robbins
SUMMARY: Lots of action tomorrow between the Bradys &
Reeds over Lucas, Shawn and Jan continue their ordeal with Mrs.
Spears and Marlena and Belle have their 20th mother/daughter talk
this month (well, it seems like that anyway). My favorite part of the
show was at the Wesley's though.
MOM & DAUGHTER TALK
After the group hug at the penthouse, Brady takes off for a drive to
let Belle and Marlena talk alone. Marlena tells Belle she feels
blessed to have Brady part of her life and to be close again. They
start talking about Shawn and Belle asks for her mom's advice. She
knows Shawn's keeping secrets from her about Jan. Marlena's thrilled
to help and tells her boys and girls react to stress differently. The
conversation changes to John's sleeping with Hope and why he didn't
tell them about it before this. Belle understands now why he didn't
and they start talking about her and Shawn again. Marlena's glad
Belle decided to wait for a relationship with Shawn. Belle calls her
on meaning a "sexual" relationship and to say what she means and
avoiding that word sounds like she's obsessing on it. Belle tells her
mom that she's not going to ruin her life by risk getting pregnant
right now. Marlena tells Belle she's proud of her for thinking this
relationship through and being mature. She wants her to enjoy the
joys of her young life. Later Belle asks if Marlena is so worried
about her because of what happened with Sami at her age. Marlena
agrees that may be true, but rationalizes a lot of what happened with
Sami was her own fault by sleeping with Lucas. She just wants Belle
to wait until she knows what she wants. Belle is confident she and
Shawn will marry one day and have a family. Marlena tells her waiting
will make it much more exciting and give them a stronger
relationship. Hug hug as they're happy to have each other. Brady
drives remembering what Belle told him about Chloe and how he's crazy
about her. He remembers kidding with Chloe about his being
irresistible and their tickling match, his telling her he's her
silver lining in a cloud and the snowball fight that ensues (this
couple knows how to play and have fun..gotta say that!)
GAME NIGHT AT THE WESLEY'S
Nancy and Craig are enjoying a happy night at home playing Monopoly.
She tells him she's the "puppy" and he's the "race car" token. Aww.
Nancy's happy she and Chloe are making progress. As they play she
realizes that Chloe's just not use to being loved and remembers their
conversation about her cold relationship with her foster parents.
Upstairs Chloe sings to Sugar and remembers her talk with Nancy about
staying away from both Philip and Brady. She agrees she doesn't need
any pressure and thanks Sugar for helping her decide what to do. She
decides on having some ice cream as that's always better than boys.
Sugar barks in agreement. She decides on surprising Nancy and Craig
too. She heads for the kitchen for some ice cream and asks C&N if
they want some. Craig gets excited about some Mocha Chip ice cream
and Nancy is touched she offers to get some for her too. They invite
her to play Monopoly and Chloe agrees, only if she can be the puppy
token. Nancy happily agrees and tells Craig (after Chloe goes into
the kitchen) that she'll be the thimble then. Ding dong..guess who?
It's Brady. Nancy's not happy to see him, figuring their cozy family
night at home is history as he asks for Chloe. She tells him now is
not a good time as they just started a game of Monopoly. Chloe joins
Nancy at the door, greets Brady and invites him in to play Monopoly
with them and he agrees. She hands him a dish of Mocha Chip and he
tells her it's his favorite too. Nancy asks how she knew to bring him
a dish and Chloe says she saw him out the kitchen window. Brady asks
how she knew he'd come in and play and she tells "Mocha Chip Man" she
knows him pretty well. They smile big time at each other as Nancy and
Craig exchange glances, LOL! Later the foursome are having a blast
playing the game. (Brady is the top hat for those interested).
Chloe's doing great and anxious to trade St. James Place for his
Baltic Ave. Craig starts singing and they tease him about it. Nancy
challenges Chloe to sing and Brady does too. Chloe agrees if he will
sing with her. Brady asks for requests and Nancy tells them something
in English..none of that foreign opera stuff. She can't understand a
damn word of it (oh Nancy, I love ya babe!). Craig suggests a simple
love song. Chloe suggests a don't love me song and launches into
People will say we're in Love. I'm impressed they both know the words
and they do an excellent job and have fun doing it as Craig and Nancy
watch while hugging on the couch. Chloe and Brady end with the song
title as the last line looking into each other's eyes and exchanging
huge smiles (don't hate me Phloe fans, but I do love this couple
together..just MY opinion of course ;-) Craig claps BRAVO and Chloe
asks for Brady's review and if he still doesn't think she sings with
a heart. He tells her she's making progress. Defensive Nancy tells
Chloe not to listen to him. Chloe tells Brady she's going all the
way, with or without him.
THE MOTHER FROM HELL
Mrs. Spears picks up the phone to call the police to have Shawn
arrested for statutory rape. Jan wrestles with the her mom for the
handset (hey Jan, this is one of the few phones left in the country
with a cord..you can just push the button on the base unit or unplug
the handset, haha..) telling her mother it wasn't Shawn's fault that
she's pregnant. Her mother tells her it takes two as the 911 operator
keeps asking what's wrong. Jan grabs the phone and tells the operator
everything is fine and not to send the police over. Shawn tries to
get her mom to calm down, but she doesn't. She tells him the police
are going to come and she's going to have them drag him away by that
pretty little earring of his. Jan insists this was all her fault and
her mother insists on Jan having an abortion before anyone else
knows. Shawn tells her it's too late. He told his parents and while
they aren't happy about it, stand by their decision to have the baby.
He hugs Jan next to him. Mrs. Spears tells Jan that this jerk (Shawn)
will leave her to raise the baby by herself. Shawn asks her to not
talk to her daughter like that. She asks if Shawn will marry her
daughter then? (Oops..there's that deer in the headlights look again,
LOL!) Jan and her mother get into a shouting match as Shawn tells
them to calm down. He tells Mrs. Spears that Jan is going to have the
baby and she tells Shawn to get out of her house. Jan tells him
calmly that everything is okay and for him to leave. He opens the
door and finds someone standing there (we don't see who, but probably
Bo or the police?) as he asks what they're doing there.
SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL APARTMENT ANNEX
As Lucas pops in and out of conscientiousness, Roman calls Kate on
promises about Will she may not be able to keep to Lucas. He
threatens if this stunt of hers ruins Sami's future with Austin,
she'll have to deal with him. Austin sweeps up the glass Sami broke
as she comes out of her room to make dinner for Will. Austin suggests
the 3 of them go out for dinner, but Sami suggests he tell Kate to
vacate his apartment. Whoooooee..Sami and Austin get into a good
verbal sparring match as he feels Will being near Lucas is a good
thing. He's not happy about his new roommates, but agrees with Kate's
reasoning and just needs time to come up with an alternative to it.
Sami flat out tells him she's never been more disappointed and
disgusted in him and he's just Kate's lapdog who would sleep on the
floor guarding the apartment if Kate beckons him to (true true).
Austin tells her he loves her son and is doing what's best for him
too. Sami disagrees that Kate's just trying to ruin her life.
(ding..that's round one and just before the show opening..phew!)
Round two...back at Austin's apartment...Kate insists to Roman that
bringing Lucas home has already been proven to be a good idea as he's
come around now. They both agree on Will and Lucas being there for
each other. Roman asks the puppet doctor his opinion and he agrees
with Kate. Kate asks Roman to go talk to Sami together about Will
seeing Lucas and he agrees. Sami and Austin argue. He tells her that
he's putting Will first as he needs his father. Sami spews back
that's "little Austin" talking as he didn't have a father growing up.
Austin stands back and realizes Sami hasn't really changed
(hello..Austin's come out of his coma too?). He brings up her lying
to him about being Will's father and her fake amnesia. He tells her
that Will might start hating her if she continues this lying. She
needs to change or they're going to have some serious problems. She
asks if that means he won't marry her if she won't let Will see
Lucas? He reminds her that HE forgave her and she should forgive Kate
for what she's done. Sami doesn't agree and Will rushes out as he
heard yelling. Sami hugs him and tells him she's never going to let
anything bad ever happen to him. Austin assures Will everything's
okay and they were just having a loud discussion and sends Will off
for some juice (phew, thought it was going to be for another cookie
or dish of ice cream). Sami tells Austin if she tells Will about
Lucas being down the hall is HER decision..not his or his bitchy
mothers. Kate walks down the hall and happily hears loud voices from
Sami's apartment. Roman joins her, but the shouting has stopped. Sami
answers the door and tells Roman and Kate that it will be over her
dead body before something is worked out between Will and Lucas as
the credits roll...

Show #: 9252
Tape Date: 2/8/02
Director: Phil Sogard
SUMMARY: Another good show! Abe comes to Shawn's rescue,
Will finds his daddy, Belle and Philip do some investigating on their
own and the real Bo and Hope are back with us again..love the last
scene especially.
WILL DOES HIS SUPERMAN IMPRESSION
Roman (and Kate) tell Sami they have to work something out. She
reluctantly lets Roman and Kate in and Will runs up for a hug from
both of them. He asks Kate about his daddy and she tells him he's
closer then he thinks, but doesn't tell him where he is. Sami takes
Will to bed and promises to tell him what his grandma tells her about
his daddy in the morning. Austin stands up for Sami and feels she
will do what's right for Will. Sami turns off the light and Will asks
himself where his daddy is. Sami returns and the 4 adults talk in
heated voices (and don't expect Will to hear? Paleez!) Of course he
does and rushes to the door to hear it better. When he hears Lucas is
down the hall and coming out of his coma, Will rushes to the window,
opens it and walks along the building ledge. At one time his foot
slips into a groove, but he keeps walking. Sami is on the defensive
as the 3 adults tell her she's wrong. Sami tells them that all Kate
wants is to get Will and to keep her out of their life. Meanwhile
Will gets to Lucas' window and sees his daddy. Without looking down,
he tries to open the slide up window and shuffles a few inches into a
big hole in the walkway. Looking out from the room we see Will's
hands in the air trying to open the window, then his falling straight
down.Kate plays the martyr as Sami rattles on. Sami asks Austin to
marry her right now and Kate objects. Sami challenges her to
encourage them to marry right away. Kate doesn't agree and Austin
tells Sami he'll marry her anytime..just name the day and time. Kate
is upset, but Sami sees Will's door open and goes to investigate. She
finds the window open. Sami looks out and doesn't see him as the
other 3 rush in. Sami tells them that window is always locked and
she's told Will to never go out on the fire escape. She yells at Kate
that this is all her fault as they rush around looking for him. The
puppet doctor rushes in saying he heard them calling Will's name and
says he's alright and to come with him. Will's sound asleep on Lucas'
bed. Sami and Kate start blaming each other for putting Will's life
in danger.
MRS. SPEARS vs. JAN & SHAWN
Belle's hanging out in her room, staring at Shawn's ring and anxious
for him to call. She remembers him not telling her what's going on
with Jan and asking him to trust her with what's wrong. She also
remembers their conversation at school when he promised to tell her
what's happening and his telling her he loves her and to never forget
it She calls Philip (hey, he got a haircut!) who's wearing his
headset while driving. He figures Shawn's just doing a favor for Jan.
He's on his way over to dotCom (when do these kids do their
homework?) and invites her along as Shawn and Jan might be there. She
agrees, but tells him to meet her out front as she doesn't want her
parents asking why Shawn's not picking her up (where is John,
anyway?) At the Brady's, Bo and Hope have another problem to worry
about as they talk about Shawn and Jan. Bo knows Jan's family is
messed up as they didn't even show up at her hearing last summer.
Hope suggests they go over to Jan's house. Hope decides to just call,
but Bo reminds her that Mrs. Spears might not know as much as they
do. Hope calls Belle's cellphone instead. Belle answers saying Shawn,
but Hope identifies herself and asks for Jan's phone number. Belle
looks it up and gives it to Hope. Hope hangs up before Belle has a
chance to ask what's up. Bo asks Hope what she will say when she
calls and she figures she'll just ask if Shawn's there and if so, ask
him if he wants them to come over. She decides not to call.Philip
picks up Belle and he changes course to Jan's house instead of
dotCom. Belle tells Philip she trusts Shawn, but Philip asks if she
trusts Jan? She's messed up most of their senior year and he is tired
of her games. Belle agrees to go to Jan's house to see if Shawn comes
out of it.A replay of Mrs. Spears chewing out Shawn and the verbal
sparring afterward. Jan knows her mother enough to tell him to leave.
He opens the door to find Abe standing there. Abe heard the 911
dispatch to that address on his way home. He asks Shawn about the cut
on his forehead and Mrs. Spears asks Abe who the hell HE is. He shows
his id and she demands Shawn be arrested for statutory rape of her 17
year old daughter. Abe tells her he knows Shawn and won't arrest him
without the full details. Jan asks her mother not to do that and her
mother won't persist if Jan has an abortion (hope she doesn't expect
a mother's day card!). Abe tells Mrs. Spears she'll have to come to
the station to make formal charges or he'll just take Shawn home. She
tells him to take the rapist off her property and will consult with
her attorneys about filing charges. After Mrs. Spears shuts the door,
Shawn's reluctant about leaving Jan there and tells Abe about Mrs.
Spears being an abusive mother. Abe asks if he's seen that and Shawn
tells him yes, she slapped Jan hard in front of him (he doesn't
mention how she whacked him too). Abe tells him that's serious as
well and to make sure Jan calls him as promised. In the meantime, he
figures Bo's worried about him and will take him home. After Abe and
Shawn have left, Philip pulls up along Jan's house and Belle insists
they stay in the car as she doesn't want to deal with Jan and her
psycho mother. Phil said he'd wait 5 minutes, then go to investigate.
Time's up and he heads over to the house. Belle has flashbacks when
Jan was sick at school and how evasive Jan was and insistent on see
Shawn. She remembers Shawn asking her to be patient and how much he
loves her. (we know, we know, enough flashbacks already)...she joins
Philip.Inside Mrs. Spears tells Jan that she raised her for a better
life than being involved with bartenders and cops. (guess she'd
really flip to know her grandchild's daddy is a convicted felon and
rapist, huh?) Philip knocks on the door as he has Belle stay out of
sight. Mrs. Spears answers the door and comments another sex crazed
hood (ok, he's wearing a black leather jacket, but hey, he's got a
nice fresh hair cut!) is there to see her daughter and to get lost as
she slams the door on his face. He and Belle talk quickly and she
hides again as Philip wants to talk to Mrs. S. again and goes back to
the door. She calms down when learning he's Victor's son and when he
tells her he's there looking for Shawn..she tells him the dirty blue
collar scum is gone and the dirty deed's been done already. Philip is
clueless and Jan rushes up reminding her mother no one else knows
about this and for Philip to tell Belle she's sorry. They close the
door on Philip as he and Belle are totally confused now and realize
whatever it is, it's serious. Inside, Jan's mother wonders why Jan's
father is never there when they need him and Jan reminds her that she
threw him out. Her mother threatens to do the same with her as Jan
silently pleads with Shawn not to desert her. Philip suggests going
to the Brady's, but Belle trusts Shawn and will wait for him to call
her. She knows he loves her.
AT THE BRADY'S
Hope can't stand it and goes to call Shawn (doesn't he have a
cellphone? Why don't they ever call it?) when Abe brings Shawn home.
They freak over the cut on Shawn's head and Abe tells them about the
charges Mrs. Spears wanted to file. Bo hears and says it's not
against the law for consensual sex between underage kids in their
state, they have to be 18. Abe knows that, but just wanted to get
Shawn away from Mrs. S. as she was so upset. He knows her attorney
will tell her that in the morning. They all hug Abe in appreciation
and Shawn tells him he's really like a second father to him. Bo
realizes the timing is awkward, but wants to talk about Isaac. Abe
tells them he knows what John did, but no one got hurt and Lexie
doesn't want to file charges. Bo tells him about the results, that
Hope is Isaac's biological mother and John's not the father. Abe is
such a gentlemen about it, just states he doesn't know what to say
other than he loves his son and doesn't want to lose him. They tell
him about J&M comparing Stefano's bloodtype and Stefano's not the
father either. Hope has another white flash while they're talking
about that. Shawn notices, but she tells him she's fine. Abe
leaves.Bo asks Shawn about Jan's mother. He tells them how she hit
him with a magazine and he tripped on the coffee table and fell. He
tells his folks everything is fine, but Bo calmly gives him a reality
check about how this will change his life forever, it's NOT fine.
Shawn says he has too much on his mind to worry about his future and
Bo asks to help him, and tells him they won't abandon him and love
him. Shawn tells his parents he loves them too and they all hug. He
knows he's doing the right thing. He goes to call Belle and will tell
her what's happening tomorrow. Hope asks why they're being hit with
this all at once and Bo said it's to prove how strong their love is.
He'll protect them with everything he has in him. She asks about
Isaac and he says he will protect Isaac too. Hope thanks him for
never giving up on her and tells him she knows how hard this has been
on him and is grateful to wake up with him every morning and she
loves him. Their love was written in the stars a long time ago she
says. He tells her that he's always loved her, even when they thought
she was lost to them forever. They kiss as the credits roll...

FRIDAY, March 1, 2002 - *** 1/2
Show #: 9253
Tape Date: Various
Director: Opening said "Rabdy J. Robbins"...but we know it was YOU
Randy! ;-)
SUMMARY: Good show that focuses on the three main couples of
the baby switch storyline, John & Marlena, Bo & Hope and Abe
& Lexie. Lots of good dialogue and acting performances, but IMO,
James Reynolds really shines here as one of the truly "innocents" in
the whole situation. Also, J&M fans will LOVE their
scenes!!
The Blacks
John is alone on the penthouse terrace in his robe as Marlena watches
him from inside. She covers up with a blanket and joins him. He is in
a melancholy mood as he explains how he NEVER wanted any of this in
the first place, but can't help but be experiencing a feeling of loss
(over learning he is not the father). He can't understand why he
feels this way and she tries to comfort him. He says that she, Brady,
Belle (even mentions Sami, Eric and Carrie) are his family and how he
loves them all and that is all he needs. He talks about how powerful
love is and concludes that he could NOT love her more than he does
right now. He wants to work on their marriage and make it through all
this. They talk about how Belle was disappointed in him (upon
learning about him and Hope), but Marlena reminds him that they are
only human and that if they weren't SO HUMAN, Belle wouldn't even be
there. She talks about the pain that Sami has lived with due to
discovering them on the Titan conference table years ago. She doesn't
want that same kind of pain for Belle. John thinks that maybe this is
his "payback" for what happened between them, including Belle's
paternity. He asks Marlena what she thinks is best for the 2 boys.
She believes that the Bradys have bonded with JT...the Carvers with
Isaac and that is where they should stay. But she is afraid that if
Bo and Hope lose JT, then take Isaac from Abe and Lexie, and by
chance Hope remembers who Isaac's father is, that man may come
forward to claim HIM from them. She says that Bo and Hope can't lose
BOTH boys. She is perplexed about the situation, with all of them
being their friends. She doesn't see an easy solution. But they are
both happy that it isn't their personal problem anymore and hopes it
stays that way. John says that he will never take her for granted
again and that he will love her always (as he tears up) and they
kiss. He tells her that even though both of them have been with other
people before, it has ALWAYS been her. He talks about when they
thought she was dead, he never gave up on her. Marlena talks about
Sami's reaction to the John/Hope dilemma and was afraid that Marlena
would lose John and perhaps fall back into Roman's arms. He tells her
that the good in her has always pulled him to her and that he
couldn't bear to be without her again. She talks about forgetting the
past and living in the moment. John adds that it's all about their
future...and the future of their children.
The Carvers
Abe returns home from the Brady's and finds a nervous Lexie (what
else is new?). He doesn't tell her about Shawn's problem, but does
tell her about the DNA test Bo and Hope told him about. He is sure
that Lexie knows that Isaac is Hope's baby already. He is on to her
and lights into her pretty good. She denies any knowledge of this and
is all upset saying that she is afraid that Hope will want to take
Isaac away. (That Lexie has gotten good at turning on the water
works, huh?) She whines that she can't understand why they would want
him (well, duh!) and even has the gall to say that they already have
a son. She preaches to Abe about the story of Abraham and Isaac in
the Bible and how God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, but in the
end, he didn't have to. She feels that Abe is willing to sacrifice
HIS son (what a good man he is...Lexie doesn't deserve him). Abe says
that they really have no choice here. Then Lexie asks what are they
going to do if John wants him too...divide him 3 ways? Abe drops a
bomb on her and tells her the news that John isn't the father. She
demands to know who is (as are all of us). Abe was sure that she knew
that John wasn't the father and then assures her that Stefano isn't
either. She wonders why her father lied about John, but Abe doesn't
have an answer for her. She says she is relived that they DON'T know
who the father is. The doorbell rings and Abe goes to answer it. It's
Roman (he had just left Bo & Hope's place...see below).
Meanwhile, Lexie is furious with Rolf and storms off to find him. She
finds him and Bart in the lab and proceeds to jump Rolf about the
situation. (Funny, in this exchange, she refers to Marlo as Rolf's
cousin...wasn't she supposedly his niece?) She demands that he tell
her the truth NOW. But Rolf plays dumb and claims he doesn't know who
the father is. Lexie has the line of the day when she says that when
her mother (Celeste) gets back from Tibet, she will have her do a
tarot reading! (OH PLEASE...bring back the psychic Celeste!!! I miss
her so much). Rolf continues to claim he doesn't know what happened
and when he has had enough of her smart mouth, reminds her that HER
FATHER is his employer...NOT HER. After she storms off, Bart needles
Rolf to tell him the truth. Through flashbacks, we see Rolf drop the
samples and contaminate them. He explains that since Stefano's test
had already proved negative, he just assumed the father was John
(Hey, Rolfie...you KNOW what happens when you ASSUME, right?;-) Bart
demands to know who the daddy is, but Rolf doesn't have a clue! Lexie
goes up to Isaac's room and tells him that she will do anything for
him. She tells him that they will always have each other and that his
"mommy" will always love him.Meanwhile, Roman and Abe discuss the
baby switch situation and the dilemma they are all in. Abe attempts
to justify Lexie's actions, but falls way short. He finally tells
Roman that they have a lot of unanswered questions and that Lexie may
hold the key to it all. Abe confides that Lexie could have been in on
it all along, considering she worked at the hospital and had access
to the babies. He thinks that she could have been the one to make the
switch. (That Abe...he is a smart one too!) He says that Stefano is
also a suspect, but why? He talks about how strange and guilty Lexie
has been acting lately. Then he talks about how long they tried to
conceive and that when they got Isaac, it was like an answered
prayer. Now he is afraid that Lexie used extreme measures to get and
to keep him and that he can't live with that knowledge. He is
completely devastated and says that Roman knows first hand about
losing the ones they love. Roman mentions losing his daughter and
wife at once. He says it took him a long time to get over that, but
it was the right thing to do. Abe says that he can't keep Isaac OR
stay in his marriage for the wrong reasons. Roman tells him that he
is his friend and will be there for him.
The Bradys
Roman stops by (apparently Bo called him) and Bo explains what is
going on with the DNA results, etc. Upstairs, Hope is keeping vigil
over JT as she looks at a picture of her and Lexie and the boys. She
can't believe that she never knew in her heart that he was hers. She
looks at the picture and asks "Who is your father, Isaac?" As she is
looking at the picture, her vision goes completely white. JT wakes up
(always the happy baby) and she tells him that he has 2 brothers and
wants him to get to know both of them. Back downstairs, Hope comes
down in a melancholy mood. Roman assures them that the entire family
is behind them and if they need him, just call. After he leaves, Hope
tells Bo that she loves Isaac and wants him as well. She is upset
with Lexie over all that she has done lately but wonders how she can
take Isaac from her, for she knows she loves him as well. Hope HAS to
know who the father is...then has flashbacks of Princess Gina dancing
at the ball. She wonders just HOW MANY men Gina was with. Bo comforts
her and blames Stefano. As she clings to him tight, she tells him she
couldn't make it through without him. She also has flashbacks of the
day Isaac and JT were born and Bo suggests the switch because JT
wasn't the "perfect baby", but Hope is sure that isn't the case. They
talk about the possibility of suing for custody with Hope saying he
IS her baby and should be with her. She gets all worked up and
desperately wants to see Isaac NOW. She wants to go over to the
Carvers and get him tonight. But Bo tells her that they must be
patient and follow the rules of the system. But Hope isn't satisfied
with that. She wants to hold him. Bo asks if she does that, can she
then walk away? She says "No, once I have him in my arms, I will
NEVER let him go!"...and the credits roll.
