Lucas returns with an older and obnoxious Will, Kate & Roman make nice, while Jack and Billie go out on a date.

JACK & JENN
Jack and Jenn are working in her office on the story about the shooting at the Salem Inn. After proof reading Jack's front page story, she gives Harold the go ahead for the late edition. They start to head out as he brings up his date with Billie. She kids him into thinking he needs to stay and do another edit of the story. He offers to stay and help her get it to the printer but she insists he go and have a great time. He gets a call from Billie on his cell and they make plans to meet at the Cheatin' Heart. After Jack leaves, Jenn is obviously bothered and tells herself to get over it. Jack needs to move on with his life and so does she. It's what's best for both of them, and Abby. Later, Lucas drops in to see Jenn and delivers a beautifully wrapped present from their father, Bill. Lucas wants to be closer to the Horton side of the family after spending time with Bill in Africa and hopes he and Jenn can be closer and make up for lost time. Jenn agrees and Lucas talks about maybe her and Abby going to Africa with Will and himself the next time.She uses work as an excuse for not going and gets a call she says she has to take (a telemarketer) so Lucas leaves. Jenn promptly deposits the unopened gift into the waste basket. After checking with Harold to make sure Jacks article made the late edition, Harold invites Jenn out for a drink, to where else, but the Cheatin'Heart.

THE HOSPITAL
Victor is at the hospital setting up around the clock security outside Nicole's door. He's not pleased with the SPD and decides to handle it himself. Kate comes in and offers her concern about Nicole. Victor thinks she's only sorry that she wasn't the one to pull the trigger. Kate asks to put their animosity aside and offers to help with Titan. Victor doesn't want her help and would rather shut down than turn the reins over to her. She tells him she doesn't want the reins, she was just going to suggest some names to him. He thinks she just wants to plant a spy to report back to her. He calls her a vulture and tells her to find another body to feed off of, as he's not dead yet. He says Nicole will recover, they would be married and together they would bury Kate.Kate is surprised to learn about Victor and Nicole's engagement.He turns and leaves as Roman comes along, obviously overhearing their discussion. He thinks it's inspiring how times like these will bring people together. (lol, great dialogue here) He wonders why she's really there and she calls him Columbo, asking for his theory. They spar back and forth and he brings up the kiss they shared on the elevator. She tells him it meant nothing to her, and he means nothing to her. They go back and forth with the barbs for a while and she reminds him about biting his hand to get away from him. They end up in another, rather passionate kiss. Kate pulls away saying she has to go, Lucas and Will are waiting. Roman is glad to hear Will is back as he's missed him. Kate reminds him he's back where he belongs, with his father. Roman accuses her of getting back on the warpath as she wonders what he really wants from her. He kiddingly says he might be falling in love with her and she thinks he's really full of it. More barbs and then her phone rings. He notices the number as Mr. Grant, the executor of Stefano's will and questions why he'd be calling her. She calls him nosey and tells him it was just a lonely man wanting to take her to bed, sound familiar? He tells her not to play games and asks if Stefano is really dead and if he's being a threat to her. She wonders how a dead man can be a threat to anyone? Roman thinks he can help if she'll let him. Kate tells him she appreciates it, but doesn't need his help. Right now her family needs her, and she turns and leaves.

Sami is in the ladies room putting on makeup as Brandon walks up asking Brenda if she's seen her.Sami comes out in too big of a hurry to talk to him just now. The love of her life is back in town and it'll have to wait. She rushes off leaving Brandon to wonder. Sami passes Billie and asks if she's seen her brother, Billie wonders, which brother. Flustered, Sami tells her she's useless and hurries on. Billie murmurs Sami hasn't changed one bit. She spots Brandon and asks about Nicole, he tells her there's no change. Billie wonders what's up with Sami? He tells her the love of Sami's life is back in town and that can only be one person... her brother, Austin. Just then the elevator opens and Will runs off into Sami's open arms as Lucas follows a few steps behind. Billie comments... wrong brother, Brandon says, not in my book. Billie wonders if he still has a thing for Sami but Brandon avoids answering as he leaves to check on Nicole.

Sami is very happy to see Will, as they've never spent the whole summer apart. He tells her it was great as Lucas fills in the details of their fun in Africa. Will lets it slip that he was allowed to stay up as late as he wanted. Sami notices the definite change in him. Billie walks over to welcome Lucas back and ask him if Kate told him she'd taken over his apt. He assures her there's plenty of space for them both. Will is hungry and wanting to eat (burgers and fries) so Billie takes him to the cafeteria as Lucas and Sami catch up on arguing. Victor comes by and Sami nervously notices him. Lucas and Victor talk and he thanks him again and tells him he and Will had a great summer in Africa and wonders if Victor still has that tape of Sami. Victor says it's under lock and key to be used at my discretion, not to worry. Lucas notices Victor seems bothered with something and asks what's wrong. Victor fills him in about Nicole being shot. Lucas hopes she'll be okay as Sami wonders why he cares. Victor tells him she'll be fine and no one will hurt her again. Obviously he meant this as a clear notice to Sami, then walks away. Lucas wonders what Sami knows about this and how she's involved. He accuses her of putting him and Victor in a coma and wonders if she worked her evil magic on Nicole too. Will returns with Brandon and wants to know why they're arguing. Sami brushes it off as them being worried about someone. Brandon tells them that Billie left to meet somone so he offered to bring Will back.

THE CHEATIN' HEART
Billie walks into the Cheatin' Heart and Jack makes his way though the crowd to where she's standing. They find a table and over 'Shirley Temples' go on a trip down memory lane to the last time they were there, only the roles were reversed. He was hurting and she was trying to comfort him. Abby was in the hospital and he was blaming himself for what happened to her. Jack recalls it was the worst night of his life. He ended up running away and leaving Jennifer and Abby high and dry. Billie thinks this time she's the one that's running and he's trying to comfort her. They decide to join the dancing and are getting a little wild with the two-stepping. He dips her, she laughs loudly as Jenn and Harold walk in just in time to see them. Harold thinks Jack's not wasting any time as Jenn turns and runs out.

BACK AT THE HOSPITAL....
Sami goes off to check on her schedule as Lucas advises Brandon he hopes he's still keeping Sami at arms length. Brandon tells him it's none of his business and walks away, Sami returns and wonders what Lucas said to Brandon, but he tells her it's for him to know and her never to find out. Lucas leaves to run an errand (see above) telling Sami they'll discuss where Will will be staying when he gets back. Will is playing with a model airplane that "Lucas" gave him. Sami asks him about it but he thinks it's fine to call his dad that, just as he calls her "Sami" sometimes. She doesn't like it and he tells her *fine* then I won't do it. She suggests that he take his plane to school and show his friends but he says he's not going to school and Lucas can explain it to them.They argue about it and he throws the airplane against the floor. Sami tells him he will go to school and they'll talk about it at home. Brandon returns and tries to calm Will and picks up the broken plane. Will continues backtalking and wants to know when Lucas will return.He's still hungry and wants dessert so Brandon stops a passing nurse to take Will for ice cream. Sami breaks down crying saying Lucas has finally won, Will doesn't want to be with her. Brandon comforts her, telling her Will will open his heart to her again, it'll just take time and everything will be okay. Sami is crying in Brandon's arms as she sees Victor walk up to the nurses station. She jumps away from Brandon and tells him he has to stay away. He is clearly confused but there's no time to explain as Kate walks up with Will and Lucas returns from his errand. There's a disagreement where Will will be staying the night but Brandon whispers to Sami, "lose the battle and win the war." Kate, Lucas and Will head off to the elevator (after Will lets them all believe that Sami broke his model plane that he and Lucas had built together) and Kate promises to buy him a bigger and better one the next day) leaving Sami in tears and running out to the hospital balcony.Brandon follows and hears her wonder why she's lost everyone she loves...Will and Brandon.She realizes he's there and says he needs to stay away, but he knows she doesn't want that. She tells him they can't be seen together and he asks, says who? She tells him he'd hate her if he knew. He tells her he loves her and could never hate her and wants to know what has her so scared. She tells him she loves him too and she'll tell him the truth... all of it as the credits roll.

HOSPITAL
Abe arrives to find Fay sleeping on the waiting room couch. She awakens as he covers her up with a sage green blanket that the staff apparently gave her with a matching pillow. She doesn't want to go home, doesn't have anyone there to go home to anyway. He tells her that he'll stay with her as he doesn't have anyone to go home to either. They talk about Lexie and how he's had given her several chances. He tells her how he was important to Lexie until Issac came into the picture. He tells her that Brandon is part of this nightmare. She knew Brandon and Lexie were friends, but Abe tells her Brandon and Lexie are allies and Brandon will do anything he can to hurt him (Abe). She offers to talk to Brandon, but Abe refuses, saying her hands are full enough with Nicole. He gets a page to call Celeste, figuring it's about Lexie, and excuses himself.

A replay of Sami dashing to the terrace with Brandon following her. She promises to tell him everything and that everything she's told him so far had been a lie. She tells him she went to the Salem Inn was because she was afraid of Nicole as she was out to destroy her. She tells him how Nicole's trying to get them apart. She admits lying about not wanting to be with him and loves him more than ever. He wants an explanation as to why she's been acting the way she has. She apologizes and is torn what to do as he wants an explanation. Evasively, she tells him she's trying to get out of some trouble and he remembers a conversation with Nicole at Java Café where she tells him how Victor had THE tape and was using it against Sami. She told him how Kate, Lucas and herself witnessed it. Back to current time he tells Sami he knows it's Victor Kiriakis now and remembers what happened. He tells her about Nicole's telling him about a tape that Victor has and asks what's on it. She tells him it's something about her and Austin and he can't be seen with her until she gets this mess straightened out. As soon as she takes care of it, they can be together if he still wants her? She looks longingly at him as she waits for his reply. He admires her determination and he does believe they have a future together. After Austin's departure it seems like all they've done is play games though. In tears, Sami tells him how she's come to realize that her times with him were some of the best in her life. She was just obsessed with Austin and was competing with her sister Carrie. She's come to realize that's all it was about. He had told her Austin was all wrong for her and she's come to realize that too. She just wants a chance to prove she's changed and is the woman he fell in love with and she wants to be with him. First she has to clear up this mess she made by herself, then they can be together. She asks him to trust her and wait for her. He tells her that he'll wait and they kiss and he goes back inside. Sami smiles for a second then ponders how to neutralize Nicole. Will she come out of her coma and blow the whistle on her? Inside, Brandon doesn't want Sami to fight this alone and will ask Nicole for the truth when she comes out of her coma.

DIMANSION
Bart walks in lugging all of Lexie's and Celeste's luggage. She and Celeste are moving in and Tony tells Bart they'll live in the west wing. Bart jokes that's where Martin Sheen hangs out (LOL). Lexie and Celeste walk in just carrying their purses. Lexie is delighted to return, but Celeste admits being horrified moving back in. Tony oozes graciousness and hospitality as Celeste tells both Lexie and Tony about the house being evil and she's only there to protect her daughter. She lectures her daughter in front of Tony, who doesn't mind Celeste's venting. He makes light of the situation by announcing they're showing Mommy Dearest that night in their theatre. Celeste tells her daughter she only wants what's best for Lexie and if she wants Abraham back, living there won't help. Lexie privately tells Tony that she fears Abe will find out about her and Brandon. She loves Brandon as a person and any woman would find him attractive. She worries about Brandon's ego being hurt and they talk about Sami's determination to get Brandon for herself.

Bart tells Tony he got word that John's got his pedal to the metal on the freeway. Tony, disgusted with Bart, tells him to have John followed. Lexie arrives for a drink and Tony dismisses Bart. She admits to Tony that she loves Abe with all her heart. She remembers the reverse situation of a friend in college and couldn't understand how someone could love someone even when they're so nasty to them. She's hurt Abe like her friend's boyfriend hurt her. Her biggest mistake was sleeping with Brandon Walker. She doesn't deserve to be loved. She admits going to Brandon when she was at her lowest and he always knows what to say to raise her spirits. (don't think he was talking much THAT night ;-) Tony tells her he doesn't have anyone to share his life with and has come to accept it, but doesn't want her to be the same if she can get Abe back. They're going to turn over the Dimera name to be honorable and respectable and she'll get Abe back. Celeste looks in and sees Tony and Lexie hugging and steps outside to get Abe's call. She tells him that they've moved back in with Tony.

Bart tells Tony they lost John and Tony isn't worried. Bart asks if they're going to use that "sexy Sami Brady" to get the key and Tony only tells him he has a plan.

THE PENTHOUSE
In the penthouse, Marlena senses something is going on and rushes out to John by the elevator. She tells him he can't go after the twins. If she thought Belle was in danger, she wouldn't stop him, but urges him back inside to talk. He flashes the key asking about the duplicate one she saw. After meeting the kids she knows they're not dangerous. The twins are more in danger than Shawn and Belle. John's cell rings.

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN
A replay of the whole farewell scene with Shawn/Belle and Rex/Cassie. The ladder is pulled up and once they're onboard, Shawn and Belle look up. Shawn tells Belle, "Oh my God, look"...as he points up in the air. He tells Belle there was an American flag on the ship, so it wasn't from outer space, but from the U.S. Government. Belle is worried that Cassie and Rex will think they betrayed them by bringing them there. Agent Spector joins them and thanks them for leading them there. John and Marlena arrive and Belle realizes it was her mother that told them where they were and asks her mom how she could do that? Marlena denies betraying Belle and wants to protect the kids. Marlena looks at Spector and challenges his being trustworthy and he said it was a matter of international security. She lashes back about dishing out his self importance garbage (you go Doc!) and he tells her they don't know who these twins are and where they came from (then how did they know they'd climb a ladder into their aircraft?). Belle and John exchange words about if the twins are dangerous. John knows they are and Belle stares at him. She insists the twins are not dangerous and asks her mom for her opinion. Marlena agrees that the twins are harmless. Belle looks at her dad and tells him what Agent Spector did is wrong and unforgivable and it's all his fault that this happened. He tells Isabella (uh oh), that he knows she thought she was helping the twins, but they're only a threat to their family. Belle looks him in the eye and tells her father she doesn't think she'll ever be able to trust him again (ouch). Belle demands to know where Cassie and Rex are.

We see Cassie and Rex unconscious and lying in some lab type of room. People wearing protective clean suits and masks are strapping a naked Cassie and Rex to individual tables. John pulls Spector aside and mentions his daughter doesn't think Rex and Cassie are any danger to anyone, but after Spector hears they have a key like John's, he doesn't agree. Belle knows her mother is also worried about the twins and hugs her as they both hope the twins are okay as the credits roll....

The Salemites are meeting and greeting all over town, as Jack & Jen confer with Bo, Brandon & Sami rendezvous on the hospital roof, Kate gets a surprise, and Philip seems to have very deep pockets.

DRY CREEK:
Philip meets with the sheriff outside Chloe's room, and pays him to have Brady's car towed away from out front, so Chloe won't see it. The sheriff assures him that Brady will be kept in the jail, incommunicado, for a few days before he comes before the judge. Philip goes into the room, where Chloe is sleeping. She awakens, distraught that she slept so long. She tries to call Brady on his cell phone, to no avail. Philip claims to have gotten the Thompsons' address, and has driven by there, but it was too early in a.m. Nico is on the job (??). He answers a knock at the door, revealing the clerk, who brings Chloe a letter from Brady. It says he has been searching all night (gee, & Philip found the house lickety split!) & not to worry. He is still out looking, but stopped by to leave this letter, noting that Philip was there, telling Chloe to trust Philip, and that he will see her later. (What a crock, we know this is fake). Philip tries to talk Chloe into leaving Dry Creek, going to NY with him as planned (gee, sensitive Phil. Chloe has a chance to SEE her bio father, but she should run off to NY). She goes to take a shower, & the clerk returns for his payoff. Phil brushes aside the clerk's questions as to why the need for the letter, * how Philip must've practiced forging Brady's handwriting a long time, so the clerk tells him he also has to pay for the room, since Brady is gone. Phil says Brady is history now & pays him. Chloe overhears this remark, but Philip snows her with a mumbled excuse, then goes for breakfast. Chloe stand there, seemingly very unsure of what is going on.

BACK IN SALEM
Back in Salem, Brandon is having coffee at the Java Café, admiring the bracelet he just bought, and remembering his conversation with Sami on the hospital balcony yesterday. Billie joins him, & they talk of gifts they both bought. Billie has just bought a book for Jack, & tells about her date last nite. Brandon is surprised, but Billie says they are good friends, and both Jack & Jen have agreed to move on in their lives.

AT THE HOSPITAL
At the hospital, Kate & Lucas are strolling along the corridor, happy that Lucas got a great report from the doctor after his exam. They spot Sami, and Lucas goes over to assure her that Will got a good night's sleep, and went to school this morning. (And with Sami right across the hall, she did not see Will off or at least wish him well on lst day of school?Hmmm). Sami is looking for Colin, & finds him sleeping in the Dr. Lounge. (HEY- there IS one, lol). He is murmuring in his sleep, so she bends over, and begins whispering in his ear that she is Nicole, and asks what he wants from her, that she will make his fondest dreams come true, etc. We see Colin's one eye open, then he closes it, and begins to mumble something about giving Nik her medicine and making her well. Sami turns away in disgust, and Colin pretends to just awaken, wondering what Sami is doing in the DOCTOR lounge. She pretends to just be offering her sympathies about Nicole, as he goes to take a shower.
She leaves & runs into Lucas outside, who asks her why she was looking for Colin. Lucas reminds Sami she used to call him Coma Boy, but he thinks she should be called Coma Queen. Brandon rides up on his white horse (figuratively speaking), rescues his damsel is distress, telling Lucas to get lost. Sami happily tells Brandon she was so worried he was going to believe that little dip-but catches herself, saying no cursing in the hospital. LOL He passes a note to Sami to meet him on the roof.
Up on the roof, Brandon & Sami remind themselves of their encounter there in the rain, and get rather passionate, but Sami pulls away, saying she has to take care of her problems first. Brandon gives her the bracelet, saying he will have it engraved later, with their initials and an infinity symbol, meaning their love will last forever (Wanna bet?) They kiss, not noticing the door opening, and Lucas standing there.

Colin finishes his shower, comes out and gets a page, He returns the call......to Mr. Grant, the DiMera attorney, and after hearing what Grant has to tell him, says "Excellent! Our next step is to meet and follow Stefano's orders".

IN KATE'S OFFICE
In Kate's office, a secretary announces Mr. Grant has arrived. Kate is annoyed, as she tried to make it clear she does not want to see him ever again, and wants nothing to do with Stefano, or his jar of kippers. LOL. But he is bringing an additional gift, that was to be given to Kate privately. Tis a check for One Million Dollars, and a note from Stef saying only "For your continued discretion". Roman walks in, noting Kate hiding the check. She asks if he wants to strip search her & they banter a bit. He wants to know what she knows about DiMera, she brushes him off, he tells her O.K., if that is the way you want it, and leaves. Kate calls her investment broker, saying she has a million to invest, and o.k.'s a Swiss bank account. She hangs up, looking then for the note, which has disappeared. Over in the Java Café, Roman is reading it aloud, and wondering what DiMera secret Kate is keeping.

AT THE COP SHOP
At the Cop Shop, a bedraggled Jack arrives to meet Jen & Bo, needing coffee badly. He says something about a late night, and greatfully takes Jen's offered Mocha latte, his favorite and hers, too. Tho Jen begins to say something about his date last night, she covers and changes the subject. Roman arrives, commenting on Jack's appearance, and goes into Abe's office to talk to Bo. (Egads, is that a community office? In that HUGE building?) They talk of the hit on Victor, which Bo claims was because he is the father of a Brady. Roman thinks Kate may be able to help, and they wonder what the kippers meant. Bo laughing, tells Roman he seems to have a "thing for Kate."
Roman leaves, & Bo meets with Jack & Jen. They are discussing their investigation of Colin, but poor Bo is just the man in the middle, as J&J debate the pros & cons. Jack thinks Jen should quit her flirtation with Colin, but she says no, cuz he has told her he is in love with her. Bo cannot get a word in edgewise. LOL. Jen tells Jack that this is business, & she is talking as his boss, but even if not, they have both moved on, he is dating Billie, should continue to do so, she's a great gal, etc. Billie happens to come in just then, looking for Roman, & decides she had better leave. Bo takes her outside, and asks her what the heck she is doing dating Jack, as he thought she and Jen were friends. Billie says they are, but J&J are divorced, she doesn't go after married men, and that both Jack & Jen have moved on. Bo tells her that once more she is making things all about her, but to remember she is a rookie cop, trying to do a good job. He lets her know that Jen is still madly in love with Jack. He leaves
Jack comes out, he & Billie talk a bit, & she gives him the book "The Art of Dancing". They laugh, and she complains of being tired, wanting to sleep, but unable to sleep, and Jack offers to come with her, yak it up with his stories, and she will soon sleep. Jen comes out of the office behind them, seeing Jack's arm around Billie. She goes outside and calls Colin, saying she needs to see him.

Colin takes Jen's call outside, seemingly in an alley somewhere. He tells her he has to take care of something first. Mr. Grant walks up, and gives Colin a little box. Inside is a silver bullet. An engraved silver bullet. Grant asks him if he understands. Colin replies "Yes, I know what I have to do." Grant tells him he will receive a signal when it is time. He leaves, & Bo comes around the corner, in back of Colin, stopping and watching him, as Colin contemplates the silver bullet. And the credits roll.

A new day in Salem. The teens talk about their plans are made for college in addition to what's happening to Cassie and Rex. Mickey makes a last effort to unite Abe and Lexie. Gran returns and we find out who won the cookie contest.

COP SHOP
Abe's working in his office (alone, for once) and finds the picture of him and Lexie turned over on his side table (Bo turn it over while working in there?). Mickey calls on his cell from Salem Place (guess he needs an office now) telling Abe that he has divorce papers for him to sign. Abe asks what happens after they're signed and Mickey tells him he files the papers and Lexie is notified about it. Mickey offers to give Abe more time if needed, but Abe tells him no. He looks at the picture again, remembering when he and Lexie were in bed and the next day after he found out how she knew about the baby switch for so long. He's given her so many chances. Mickey arrives at the courthouse to see Abe and finds Lexie on a bench waiting for her appointment with the probation officer. He asks if she's there to see Abe, but she tells him that Abe doesn't want anything more to do with her. Mickey disagrees and holding out his hand, asks her to go with him to see Abe.

Abe opens his drawer to find the smokin' scarf and remembers telling Lexie to pack and leave their house. He takes off his wedding band and slams it on his desk as Mickey knocks and brings Lexie in. Mickey lectures them about making sure the divorce is what they really want and leaves them alone to talk. Lexie sees Abe's ring on the desk and he tells her as far as he's concerned, their marriage is over. He opens the door and thanks Mickey for what he tried to do, and asks for the papers. He glances at them quickly and signs them. Lexie starts crying and rushes out before Abe turns around. (hope she didn't forget her appt. with the probation officer or Abe WILL be looking for her).

HOSPITAL
Craig and Nancy head to his office for a surprise he has for her (we never find out what IT is ;-) Jen arrives and sees Colin on a pay phone (with Tony). Tony tells him he's okay but needs to see him right away. Colin can't get away as he's on duty, so Tony said he'll come to see him there then. Colin assures Tony he'll help him in any way he can. Jen joins Colin and they go somewhere private to chat (standing up) over a cup of coffee. Both are weary after being up so late after the Salem Inn shooting. She asks about Nicole's status and comments on his versatility of being a surgeon as well as blood specialist, haha. She asks about Tony's disorder. He goes on guard and she changes the subject to him saying she could care less about Tony. Realizing his muscles ache from sleeping on the couch, she massages his back, as he claims she's holding back her hidden talents. He moans and promises to show her his hidden talents soon. Back at the front desk, he asks what she's doing this weekend and other then a shopping trip with Abby, she tells him nothing. He heads off to work as she spots Gran and Abby walk up. They just had lunch at Buddy's Burger Barn and Abby tells her Gran got a letter about the cookie contest (didn't Abby have school? I thought Will started school, so it would seem Abby would too?).

Gran was too nervous to open the letter and gives it to Jen, who opens it right up and reads that Gran and Abby's cookies won the contest. Nancy overhears and although jealous, congratulates them. She hadn't thought about the contest much lately and Jen asks about Chloe. Nancy brightens and reports she's in remission and on a trip right now. Alice tells her Chloe will remain in their prayers and Nancy is warmed by that. Privately Jen wishes there was more they could do for the Wesley's and Alice has an idea. Jen and Abby tell Nancy and Craig that Gran's rocking babies in the nursery, but she's donating all her cookie contest money to Leukemia research in honor of Chloe. Jen tells them that Oliver Wentworth is underwriting the first light the night walk for lymphoma/leukemia research. Craig and Nancy are touched and wish Chloe were there. Nancy wants to thank Alice and goes with Jen and Abby to see her.

Tony arrives and tells Colin they have to get the key back from John! He needs Colin's help to get it back. Colin mentions Sami's help, but Tony wants Colin to talk to Marlena about it instead.

Lexie runs into Tony at Salem Place. She's on her way to her probation officer's office and tells him she's glad to have moved back in the mansion. The two agree to meet for lunch and he suggests she meet him at the hospital. (most would meet at a restaurant, but more action happens at the hospital). He agrees to protect her if needed at the hospital.

Later, Lexie arrives at the hospital and Craig runs into her after Nancy left with Jen and Abby. He takes pleasure saying the hospital was not responsible for the baby switch and her family is not going to mess with his hospital, staff (which she's not part of) or his family ever again. Craig walks away and she finds Abe there. Abe's there for the bullet they took out of Nicole and Tony and Lexie head off to lunch.

Nancy's happy Craig told Lexie off and he sends her home as he has something to do.

THE PENTHOUSE
Tension is thick as John walks in and Marlena lets him have it about his part in turning the twins over to the government. John argues that ever since he heard they had an identical key, he knew Stefano was behind this and it wasn't a coincidence they were found by their daughter and Bo and Hope's son. He tells her that Belle was in danger all summer as Belle joins the conversation, saying she wasn't. She yells at him again and he tells "Isabella Black" that she's only 17 and believe it or not, doesn't know everything (insert your own comments here). He asks about the key, but she reminds him she doesn't trust him and leaves. The elevator door opens and Shawn is there with a flower for her as she asks him to get her out of there (after they hug of course).

Inside the penthouse, John is torn about what to do. As he makes for the door to go after Belle, Marlena calmly tells him NO and to give Belle time. She explains she agrees with Belle and he was wrong for what he did. He's as determined to protect his family as she is to protect C&R. He asked if he was suppose to move C&R into Brady's old room? He promises they aren't being mistreated and she asks if he can guarantee that? He tells her he does know it was too coincidental they arrived right after they got those mysterious gifts from Stefano's will. He figures they're after both Belle and Marlena and Marlena gets furious (that puts it mildly) pointing her finger at him telling saying THAT'S NOT SO. He's taken back by her reaction. She tells him how C&R couldn't even speak when Belle found them. She doesn't want to judge the twins until they know for sure and he agrees he won't if she won't.

JAVA CAFÉ
Shawn takes Belle to Java Café for a couple ½ gallon cups of coffee (that'll help her nerves ;-). They talk about what happened the night before and wonder where Cassie and Rex were taken. He reminds her that they didn't know what else to do with Cassie and Rex and they're with experts who can find out and help them now. Belle wishes she could agree, but just angry with how Agent Spector was acting and gloating over getting Cassie and Rex.

They talk about both going to Salem U and Belle reminds him Mimi is going there too. (nice the Salem teens are starting school the same time as the rest of the country for once, isn't it?) That way they can all be close to Chloe as well. Belle wonders if Cassie and Rex are some secret project at Roswell and doubts her father will ever tell her the truth. Shawn tells Belle he has good news and Mimi joins them, saying she'll love it. Shawn and Mimi tell Belle that both he and Belle were accepted at Hartley House..the co-ed dorm (house) right off the quad at Salem U. (guess Belle didn't have to sign any applications?) Mimi's jealous her financial aid didn't cover housing, but B&S assure her she'll practically be living there. Mimi tells them she misses Kevin, but she and Kevin decided to date others while he's off at Stanford and wants B&S to invite her to their mixers to meet guys.

Belle and Mimi hit the Java Café ladies room. Belle admits she rushed out of the house quickly and realizes her blue purse doesn't go with her pink floral outfit. Mimi's straw bag with silk pink flowers on the edge matches Belle's sundress and they decide to trade. They empty their purses out and Mimi asks where she got that...but we later learn she meant a necklace. Not noticing the BIG blue key, they talk and Mimi accidentally puts it in her own purse with her keys.

Back at the table, the trio talks about what classes they're taking and Belle accidentally knocks Mimi's purse off the table. She gets down to pick the items up as we see the key in the pile, but they shuffle the items back in Mimi's purse again, not noticing it. Mimi said all the keys are for the high school custodial locks and she has to return them (can't believe they let her graduate still having them!). Belle admits they need her father's help to find out where Rex and Cassie are.

Jen and Abby have some ice cream at Java Café and Abby asks where Daddy was last night. Jen tells her he was out with his friend Billie Reed. Abby asks her mom if she's sure Billie and daddy are just friends.

Later..........at the Penthouse....

Agent Spector arrives at the Penthouse and Marlena demands knowing where the twins are. He's got information about the Gemini twins. He's reluctant about talking in front of Marlena, but John tells him it's okay. Spector tells them they're in a secure location and preliminary physicals results aren't back yet, but they do have some disturbing news. They examined the twins and their possessions, but couldn't find the blue key on them. Marlena admits the last time she saw it, Rex had it in Bo's garage. John offers to call Bo, but Spector has his own ways and leaves. Marlena tells him he makes her skin crawl, but John says he's a man she can trust. They talk about Belle's staying in Salem for school and he wonders if it was because of the Gemini twins. Spector returns saying they didn't need to search the Brady garage as he has a sensitive tracking device that would detect it, but it didn't. It starts beeping as John pulls his own key out. After Spector leaves, John hugs Marlena on the terrace and wants her to talk to him. She tells him she's afraid their troubles are just beginning as the credits roll....

Summary:
Good show, IMO. On a mission, Kate tries to get close to Roman...Tony works on Sami to do his bidding...Nicole slowly but surely begins to recover...Marlena is taken to see the twins and wants to take over their case as we learn more about them (mainly that they are NOT alien...they are HUMAN!). Cassie and Rex continue to bond with "Belle's Mom". (Hmmm...)

 Roman and Kate...
At the Java Café, Roman pulls out the note and wonders what it means. He sees Kate headed his way and crams it in his pocket. She tells him that she wants to make up and as he cracks jokes, she is doing her best to make nice. He wants an explanation about her and Stefano. She finally makes up some lame story about how years ago, she was in a restaurant having kippers. Stefano came by and made a pass at her and she turned him down. Supposedly, he pursued her, sending her flowers, candy, etc. He finally gave up on her and that was it. But Roman doesn't buy one word of it. He asks her about the check as she plays innocent, saying it was Basic Black business. She accidentally (on purpose of course) dumps his coffee in his lap (LOL...hope it wasn't steaming hot!) and as he goes to paper towels, she rummages through his jacket pockets. He sees her but she covers and hands him his jacket, saying it's time to go. Later, they show up at his place and he asks her what she wants. She begins to flirt her ass off with him, saying that she is attracted to him and begins kissing him. She reaches around to his back pocket and tries to slip her hand inside when he grabs her hand, asking what is she doing. (LOL. Kate has the line of the day...she says most men don't ask that when a woman puts her hand down his pants!) She acts offended until Roman pulls the note out from under his belt buckle/shirt and she snatches it away and they argue. She goes to leave and Roman tells her not to shut him out. He says she can't bury the past and will never be able to shut the door on it. She stops dead in her tracks and has a flashback. In it, she is wearing a blonde wig and Rolf is at her door, handing her an envelope. He tells her if she refuses Stefano's offer, she will regret it for the rest of her life. A rattled Kate mumbles she had forgotten about that as Roman asks her what's wrong. She snaps at him to leave her alone and rushes off in tears.

At University Hospital...
Brenda gives Victor an update on Nicole, telling him that she is doing some better (she is off the venelator) but still hasn't awaken. He goes into see her and holds her hand, professing his love for her. As he talks, visions of Sami being locked in jail are dancing through her head. She squeezes his hand.

Elsewhere, Sami and Brandon are on the roof kissing. As they hug, she sees Lucas watching them. He gives her a wave and then blows her a kiss as he goes back inside. Sami panics as Brandon wonders what is wrong. She makes excuses, telling she has to get back to work. They kiss again and Brandon leaves. She curses Lucas as he returns asking what's wrong. He gives her a hard time and asks why she is trying so hard to convince him that there is nothing going on between her and Brandon. They argue and she goes to leave. He stops her and tells her that they need to discuss signing permanent custody papers. She refuses to do so and storms off.

Tony shows up, looking for Sami, and runs into Colin. But Colin is looking for Marlena...as she walks by. He tries to talk to her, but she tells him that she has an appointment and rushes off. She goes out on the terrace, where John and Agent Spector (wearing a hospital badge reading "Dr. Frank") are waiting for her. Spector tells her that they have a problem with the twins. She demands to know what they have done to them as he assures her that they are in no danger but quite agitated and asking for her. She refuses to give him advice or help...unless he takes her to see them. John sides with Marlena and Spector finally relents. As they re-enter the hospital, Colin is watching them and is sure that he recognizes Spector, but can't figure out from where. He asks Brenda who he is and she tells him that he is Dr. Frank, a thoracic (sp?) surgeon that Dr. Wesley called in to assist on a case...but Colin isn't buying it. Brandon comes by and asks Colin about Nicole. As they are talking, Victor rushes up and tells Colin about Nicole squeezing his hand. They all rush off to her room (as an eavesdropping Sami panics). Sami says (out loud) that Nicole CAN'T wake up. Tony overhears her and asks why she is so worried about Nicole. LOL as Sami says "I have GOT to stop talking to myself!" He asks her if she is going to do as he asked and get that key from John. They go out on the terrace as he promises that if she helps him...he will help her. But Sami grows a conscience and tells him that she can't steal from her step father. She tells him that she needs time to decide...her head is spinning (LOL...as Tony says "isn't it always?") He gives her one hour to make up her mind.

Victor, Brandon and Colin are in Nicole's room as Colin holds her hand and talks to her, trying to get her to respond. She has flashbacks of one of their steamy encounters and yanks her hand away from him. Victor wonders why she did that, but Colin covers, saying it was an involuntary reflex. Victor and Colin leave to talk to the neurologist as Brandon stays behind and keeps vigil. As he talks to her, Sami is in the doorway listening. She comes in, telling Brandon, she is sorry for him and realizes how much he loves Nicole. As they hug, Victor is coming back down the hallway toward her room. He is detained by Lucas, who asks about Nicole's condition. He tells him that he heard that Sami was there when Nicole got shot and asks if she had anything to do with it. Victor goes to the gift shop for flowers as Sami and Brandon kiss in Nicole's room. When Sami comes out, Lucas tells her that he just talked with Victor and he knows everything. Sami rushes off to find Tony. She tells him that she has decided to help him. She wants information on Nicole. But he tells her the key first...no key...no deal.

Down in the Basement...
Spector takes John and Marlena to the hospital basement to a lab that is set up there. (He tells them that they commandeered it from Dr. Wesley). He gives them id's and tells them to wear them at all times. Marlena demands to see Cassie and Rex. He takes them to a room where there are doctors examining them. Rex yells "Belle's mom!" as both rush to her. She holds them both tight and tells them "I've got you". They say things like "needles hurt" and "no more" as Marlena lashes out at Spector for mistreating them. She asks for time alone with them and Spector reluctantly gives in, but watches them through a window from outside the room. He tells John what they have learned so far is that they are both entirely human. But he is puzzled by their rare form of amnesia. John asks if there could be computer chips and mind control involved, but Spector rules that out. He tells John that Cassie has a form of photographic memory and that Rex has showed extraordinary math skills.

Back upstairs, Colin is trying to figure out from where he remember Spector. A light bulb goes off and he remembers him, saying he is a government agent. He wonders why he is there...posing as a doctor.

Back in the room, Marlena apologizes to the twins as Rex keeps saying "want home". Marlena promises that she will help them. Rex points to the window and says "bad man" as Marlena tries to comfort them. She asks if they want her to help them, asking if she can hypnotize them. She assures them that it won't hurt and is like going to sleep. This brings on Cassie's flashback of the "goodnight, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite" memory and she begins to panic. Spector and John rush back in as Marlena calms them down. John tells her that they are human as Spector says they need to learn more. Marlena suggests hypnosis and Spector agrees. She has one condition, that she is in charge of the project. Spector refuses to that condition and asks her to leave. She reminds him that SHE is the one that they trust and he gives in. Marlena suggests that they all leave and let them rest (careful not to say the word sleep). Outside, Spector gets their DNA tests and says that he has never seen anything like it before. He says that there is evidence of genetic engineering. John says "courtesy of Stefano DiMera". Marlena gets a worried look on her face as we see a shot of Cassie and Rex reach out to each other and clasp hands...and the credits roll.
