Summary:
The intensity level drops a bit, but a good show non-the-less. Brady and Chloe hit the road (as Philip hits the roof)...Belle decides that she needs help with Cassie and calls in the Calvary (Marlena)...Nicole is in surgery as Sami sweats bullets...Nancy takes a pregnancy test...and Shawn sees Billie in Bo's arms again. (There is one scene with Craig and Nancy that is noticeably out of sequence in the show, which distracts from it a bit. The continuity person must have been asleep at the wheel ;-)

At the Salem Inn...
There is a replay of Shawn seeing Bo and Billie kissing and leaving. Then Sami and Nicole enter arguing as Sami pushes Nicole and she gets shot. After the gunshot, Bo yells "She's been shot". Billie rushes back in to the lobby and shoots the hitman. Sami comes to in time to see Victor hovering over Nicole with her mumbling "Sami". She passes out as the paramedics rush in to take her to the hospital. Bo tells them that her brother Brandon is her next of kin (what about her mother?) and calls ahead to tell him what is going on. After they take her away, Bo wants to know from Sami what is going on and takes her down to the hospital for a statement.

In the Brady Garage...
There is a replay of Cassie going after Belle with the saw, but Rex comes rushing in yelling "NO" as Belle screams. Cassie throws the saw in the floor with sparks flying just as Shawn comes charging in and unplugs it. He wants to know what is going on as Belle explains that Cassie "accidentally" turned it on. Shawn is upset and is more determined than ever to call the authorities. He is sick of the secrets and lies and she senses that something else is bothering him, but he doesn't say. She tells him that she has decided to stay in Salem and attend Salem U instead of going off to Columbia (saying she can transfer later). She feels that with Chloe sick and with Cassie and Rex there, now isn't the time to leave. He tells her that if she is staying, so is he. Cassie yawns and Belle asks if she is sleepy. Cassie begins to have flashbacks of the room and the voice telling them "good night...sleep tight...don't let the bed bugs bite". Back in real time, there is a knock at the door and Shawn refuses to hide them anymore. But, it turns out to be Philip, who is searching for Chloe (see below). He wants to know where Brady is so Belle calls him on his cell phone. He tells her that he is on a road trip, but that's about all he tells her before he cuts her off. Philip is sure that Chloe is with him and he leaves. Bo calls Shawn to see what he wanted and asks if it can wait until he gets home. After he gets off the phone, Shawn tells Belle that he's going down to the hospital to see his dad and leaves. Cassie is now sleeping in the floor having dreams of the white room and mumbling about the key. Belle calls Marlena (we don't see her) and asks her to come over to the Brady garage. She tells Rex that they need more help than she can provide and that her mom is on the way. Rex says "No...need home."

Brady and Chloe's Journey...
Nancy is at the hospital and calls Philip (who is in his car on his way to pick up Chloe) and gives him last minute instructions as he promises to take care of her. Meanwhile, Brady and Chloe arrive at a diner, with her telling him that she needs to call Philip. She keeps getting a busy signal and tells Brady that she feels really bad about canceling on him, but feels that she needs to go with Brady to find her father. She wants to tell Philip the truth, but Brady wants to keep what they are doing a secret. She is sure that Philip will be upset, but Brady really doesn't care. She promises not to tell him but tells him that she must give him a reason. She finally gets through and tells him that there is a problem and she can't go. Brady takes a booth and on one of those small table juke boxes sees the song "I'll Be Seeing You" by Thomas Early. He has flashbacks of Izzy and asks if this is the important journey. On the phone, Philip wants an explanation but begins to get upset with Chloe. She asks him to go on to New York and let everyone think that she is with him. He finally agrees to do so and tells her that he loves her before hanging up. Back at the table, Brady apologizes to Chloe for his behavior lately, but she doesn't blame him for trying to help her. She talks about how bad life can be, but one must play with the cards they are dealt. She is thankful for what/who all she has in her life. Then she apologizes for treating him bad lately, saying maybe he is right and she has been living in a dream world. She says that she just wanted to forget what was happening with her, but the reality is that she will never get better without the transplant. And to do that, she must go along with him...it's her life...her journey. She tells him that he is the best friend she has ever had. Brady sees that she is weak and suggests that she eat something. She says that she is sure that she will be okay with him there to protect her. They eat some pie and ice cream (Brady notices that Chloe hardly touches hers) as Chloe tells Brady that Nancy would freak out if she knew what they were up to. She tells him that she knows nothing about Dr. Sykes or about their relationship because Nancy would never discuss it. Brady promises they will find him and they leave.

Back in his car, Philip places a call to Nico (Victor's henchman) and tells him that he wants him to locate someone for him.

At the Hospital...
Nurse Brenda is searching for Sami, who is late for work (what else is new?) but Brandon tells her that he hasn't seen her as he has flashbacks trying to figure out what is going on with Sami. Craig comes by and as Brandon asks about Chloe, then goes into his office. Nancy is there and isn't feeling well. They both think that perhaps she is pregnant. Craig leaves and returns with a pregnancy test but is called away to get to the ER immediately (This scene is show AFTER he is already been seen wheeling Nicole to the operating room). He leaves, but while he is gone, impatient Nancy can't wait and does the test. When he returns, she is down and she tells him that it was negative. He promises her that it will happen. He gets another call and has to rush to the OR.

The rest of the crew arrives as they are met by Brandon. They tell them that Nicole has lost lots of blood and they take her into the ER, followed by her entourage: Victor, Bo, Billie, Brandon and Sami. Craig rushes in, with Brenda telling them that there are way too many people in there, so everyone but Brandon leaves. Brandon wants to call their mom, but Nicole tells him not to. Outside, Bo and Victor discuss how things went wrong and Victor is really upset that Nicole and Sami were there. Sami is listening as she has flashbacks of her argument with Nicole. They come rushing through the lobby with Nicole on the way to the operating room, with Craig explains that her blood isn't clotting and they have to operate. Sami jumps Victor, telling him that she had NOTHING to do with Nicole getting shot...she was dodging bullets herself. Then Brandon blames Victor for not protecting her. Later, Craig gives Victor an update, telling him that she is doing better. He tells him that Colin Murphy is the surgeon (which doesn't sit too well with Victor). Brandon calls Fay, only telling her to come to the hospital. Sami tries to talk to Brandon but he doesn't want to see her. He tells her that he heard that Nicole said her name before she passed out and wants to know what was going on. She says she wishes she could tell him. To herself, she says if Nicole dies, Brandon will never forgive her. But, on the other hand, if she lives, she will tell all her secrets. (What a dilemma for our poor little Sami! ;-) Later, in the waiting room, Victor charges in and he and Sami have a confrontation. He blames her for what happened and begins to threaten her. As he reminds her that he owns her (out of the corner of her eye) she sees Brandon enter the room. Victor tells her that not only will he see that she doesn't get Brandon, but she will lose everything. Back in the ER, Bo finds an upset Billie and he comforts her, telling her that she did the right thing. As he holds her in his arms, Shawn walks up and sees them...and the credits roll.

Brady and Chloe get closer to finding her biological father as Philip uses Niko's help to track them. The Salemites group at the hospital for news of Nicole's progress.

DRY CREEK, NORTH DAKOTA
Brady and Chloe check into a motel and have to share a room. He asks if she minds and he insists on sleeping on the floor. There will be another room available the next day, but he feels confident they'll track down her father that night. (check out that flashing light outside their room, haha.) She admits being nervous about meeting her father for the first time and asks how he found her father. He can't tell her how, just that he had to do it, for her. They plan their strategy and he suggests she not use her real name until they've gotten her father's trust.

WAITING ROOM
Fay arrives and Abe tells her about Nicole being shot. She breaks down into tears and Abe comforts her as Brandon walks in and sees that. He tears Abe away from his mother and Abe tells him to calm down as he had just told Fay about Nicole and she almost passed out. Abe takes Fay off to see Nicole as Brandon had a patient to see first and Roman stops Brandon from going after them. He warns Brandon to back off.

A replay of Victor's threatening Sami as Brandon overhears and Philip goes off with Victor to talk. Brandon tells Sami to stay out of his life and walks off. Niko brings Victor some pills and Philip asks his dad to borrow Niko. Victor agrees. Fay and Abe join Victor and Jen, who's consoling Victor. They join hands and say a silent prayer as Sami watches from across the room, remembering her argument with Nicole in the apartment. Flashback of their argument and Nicole's slipping into her gown. Sami fears if Nicole survives what will happen to her.

Replay of Bo's pep talk to Billie as Shawn sees them hugging. Bo sees Shawn and learns how Shawn saw him kiss Billie at the Salem Inn. Bo explains about the undercover operation and Shawn buys the kiss, but doesn't understand about the hug he just saw, so Billie asks to explain privately to Shawn. She tells Shawn that the kiss was part of the job for both her and Bo. Shawn believes it was for his dad, but NOT for her. She tells him about killing a man tonight and no academy training can train you to handle that. He tells her that he believes her.

Roman finds Sami in the waiting room and they hug. She asks about Nicole's status. Lexie walks in and sees the foursome praying. Afterwards Abe suggests that Fay wait for more information before calling her other daughter, Taylor. Lexie scowls, silently accusing Fay of trying to get Abe for herself. She hugs Brandon as he walks in and he's happy to see her. She assures him Nicole will be okay as he sees Abe holding his mother.

Colin walks in saying the operation's over. The pregnant pause as Victor demands to know if Nicole is still alive as Sami crosses her fingers behind her back hoping that Nicole didn't survive the surgery, showing her true feelings. He tells the group that Nicole made it through surgery, but is in a coma and on a ventilator to breathe. Abe offers to get water for Fay and walks her away. She refuses the water saying she should go to Brandon. Abe stops her and warns her that Brandon knows about their affair. She's surprised as Brandon was so young at the time. He tells her how Brandon figures Abe sent his father to prison so that he could have Fay to himself. She realizes why Brandon's acted the way he had. A nurse gets Fay to see Nicole and Abe asks her to call him if she needs anything.

Sami offers her sympathy to Brandon again, but Billie interrupts asking about Nicole and can't figure out why Nicole was there and got the bullet instead of Victor. Sami changes the subject, saying she heard how Billie did a convincing job of pretending to be Bo's lover. Brandon lashes back that Billie was working and killed a man tonight and for Sami to lay off..but Brandon and Billie both ask her what SHE was doing there? Think quick Ms. Sami! Sami tells them she just followed Nicole into the Inn and that she's told her father everything already. Fay gets Brandon to see Nicole and they leave. Jen catches Colin alone and he asks if her questions are off the record. He says something about he didn't intend for this to happen and Jen mentions it was an accident. He comments he wasn't involved and hardly knows Victor, but leaves room for speculation for us. He heads off to see Nicole and Bo joins Jen, warning her to be careful in her questioning (as HE says this loud enough for her to shush him, haha). They talk about her and Jack and she tells him Jack's moved on and tells Bo she overheard Jack make a date with Billie. Bo's surprised at that and Jen leaves. Shawn joins Bo and apologizes. They agree to meet at home later for dinner.

Victor watches through the glass door of Nicole's room as Fay and Brandon sit with her. Nicole is sitting up almost in bed with the ventilator tube taped in her mouth as the machines beep away.

Abe and Lexie talk in the hall as she tells him that she and Brandon are just friends and to go ahead with the divorce proceedings. She doesn't need to be reminded of how he doesn't want her anymore. He tells her how he gave her several chances and she lied to him each time. She's afraid to say anything as he'll be judgmental over what she says. She reminds him about when they made love and how right it felt. He agreed, but the next morning he learned she knew about the baby switch for over a year, how she paid Barb off. She disgusts him and he doesn't want anything more to do with her. Brandon needs her more then he does and he tells her to go be with her "friend".

TITAN JET
Niko tracks Brady's credit card as Philip's anxious to find them. Niko learns that Brady used his credit card to check into a motel in Dry Creek, North Dakota. Philip asks for a flight plan to the nearest airport.

LATER
Brady helps a limping Chloe into a hospital, asking for Dr. Thompson. He tells the receptionist Chloe's name is "Phoebe". They're told the doctor's not there. The nurse puts her in a wheelchair and tells them the doctor is on a housecall (what's THAT?) and should be back shortly.

Victor goes in the room and offers his sympathy to Fay and Brandon. Fay accepts and leads Brandon out so Victor can be alone with Nicole. Victor takes the ring out of the box and apologizes for not protecting her. He puts the diamond ring on her finger and tells her he loves her. He kisses her forehead. (Hope he puts a guard on that door!)

Bo calls Billie partner and thanks her for everything. She calls someone on the pay phone, encouraged that he trusts her now.

Sami finds Colin getting coffee and lets him know she knows why he was really with Nicole earlier that day. He tells her she should be ashamed of herself for spreading lies and show some respect for Nicole due to her circumstances. He leaves and Sami mutters under her breath about her own life hanging by a thread if Nicole lives. Victor overhears this and calls her on it. Sami is rattled, but Victor tells her to shut up. He warns her she'll wish she were dead if he finds out she was responsible for what happened.

Colin feels Nicole needs her rest (she's in a COMA!) and shouldn't have visitors. Fay agrees to go to the cafeteria with Brandon, but that's it. She's not leaving Nicole after that. Colin leaves and Sami slips in. She tells Nicole it's either her life or Nicole's and eyes the plug to Nicole's ventilator as the credits roll.....

Philip ruins Chloe & Brady's plan, Marlena meets the twins, and Alison Sweeney gives a tour de force performance, as Sami wrestles with her conscience and her imagination

IN DRY CREEK, N.D.
Philip barges into the empty motel room, yelling for Chloe, looking in bathroom, closet, and even under the bed (GMAB), upset at not finding them. He pays off the manager who let him into the room, then pays him off again for info as to the location of the clinic where the duo went.
At the clinic, Chloe (who is on crutches - she is supposed to have hurt her ankle) & Brady arrive to find the doctor should be back any minute from delivering a baby. Chloe gets cold feet and wants to back out, but Brady makes her realize it is to save her own life. Dr. Thompson returns, and the nurse talks to him just outside the door. Chloe & Brady can see his shadow on the opaque glass window of the door, and hear his voice. He is going to wash up first, tend to a couple things on his desk, and will be able to see "Phoebe" shortly.
Of course, Philip comes bursting into the clinic, ranting about Chloe Lane, and will not believe the nurse when she says no one is here by that name. Chloe & Philip hear him yelling. Philip knows Brady's car is right outside, and pushes past the nurse, into the exam room, confronting Brady & Chloe. (This boy has got to learn to control his temper, and think a bit before he acts so rashly) He is very angry, punches Brady in the jaw, and tho Brady is startled for a few seconds, he grabs Philip and shoves him up against a cabinet, with Chloe yelling at them both. Dr. Thompson & the nurse hear the ruckus, and she leaves to call the sheriff. Chloe is yelling at Philip about their mission, and how they are trying to find Dr. Sykes. Oops. Brady chastens her for mentioning that name, but too late, as Dr. Thompson, outside the door, sadly shakes his head. Brady opens the door to see the nurse, apologizes for the commotion and misunderstanding, and asks where the doctor is. He is gone, of course, and nurse cannot imagine why. They hear sirens, and learn the sheriff is on his way, and they have lots of explaining to do. Chloe emotionally tells Philip he has ruined everything, as she lays her head on Brady's shoulder.

OUTSIDE THE BRADY GARAGE
Belle & Marlena are talking as Shawn arrives. Belle has told Marlena everything, and she is ready to meet the twins. They all go into the garage, and Marlena's first reaction is a very unusual look on her face, but she introduces herself as Marlena. Rex says no, you're not, then says you're Mom, Belle's mom. Marlena says yes, she is Belle's mother, and wants to help them find their mother, and asks where they are from. Rex says "you tell". Belle tells Marlena how Rex showed her the hamster cage, and perhaps they were locked up. Also mentions that when they landed they had this key with them. (now wait a second, that key was up a tree). Well, Marlena takes exception at the "when they landed" (looks like she is still skeptical at how they arrived), but asks Rex & Cassie to show her the key. Cassie looks frightened again, but Rex pulls the blue key from his pocket. Marlena recognizes it, remembering her conversation with John when she held the key and said the DiMeras must never have it in their possession again. She tells Belle & Shawn not to tell anyone about this key.

IN SALEM HOSPITAL
Brandon & Victor are pacing and worrying. Roman comes looking for Sami and Victor tells him about Nicole murmuring Sami's name just after she was shot. Roman takes offense and they argue, while Brandon listens. Roman leaves, Brandon & Victor talk about Nicole, how much they both love her, and then about Sami's devious ways.
Later Roman again arrives, still looking for Sami. Victor is blaming Sami for what happened to Nicole, Roman defends her, and warns Victor that he will have to answer to him.

IN NICOLE'S ROOM
Sami reaches for the plug, when she hears a voice telling her no, don't do it. It is "her conscience" telling her she is not a murderer. Sami argues that her family sets great store by honesty. She proceeds to fantasize about being in Salem during the pilgrim days. (This is such an hysterical scene). She & her entire family are dressed in the pilgrim attire. Roman puts her into a stockade - yep, only head and hands showing - and everyone takes turns throwing fruit and garbage ( I guess that is what it is, all wet looking yukky stuff) at her, as they talk about her lies and deceit. Marlena, Caroline, Belle, etc. Grampa Shawn even walks up and pours a bucket full on her head. ( If you saw Alison on Fear Factor, you know that only she could pull off this scene, Bravo, girl!)
Sami again talks back and forth with her conscience (yes, it is Alison's voice), talking how she loves Brandon, not wanting to lose him, but if something happened to Nicole, Victor would launch an investigation. We now go into black and white 40s movie fantasy, with Victor sitting in a garden, and two goons bringing Sami to him. Her hair is up, ala Judy Holiday in that era, with curls, and Victor, doing his best impression of Marlon Brandon's Godfather voice, tells Sami he is getting her new shoes, cement ones. He then tells the goons to take her for a ride on his yacht. (LOL, folks, you're gonna love these scenes....what a hoot)
Sami comes to herself, once more putting her hand on the plug, as outside we see Brandon arrive, with his hand on the door knob. A nurse stops him, telling him Nicole cannot have visitors, but allows him a few minutes. This gives Sami enough time to hide, as Brandon comes in, sits at Nik's bedside, telling her of his conversation with Victor, that he never liked him, but knows how much he loves Nicole. He talks about Samantha, how he knows Nik doesn't like her, knows her faults, but still loves her (Sami is crying as she eavesdrops), but that he knows it won't work, and he is going to move on. Brandon pleads with Nicole to come back and butt into his life again.
Brandon leaves, and Sami cannot wait to come out and rant to Nik, calling her a cold-hearted **tch, bragging that Brandon still loves her. (what is it about people in a coma bringing out the worse in Sami - remember Lucas?) She continues arguing with her conscience, talking about how her parents have always wished she was sweeter and nicer, but Brandon loves her for herself. She has another fantasy, this time with Brandon sitting by Nik's bedside as Sami enters. He tells her off, telling her she knows how he feels about child abuse, and she lied about it, and tried to blackmail Victor into sending Austin to Hawaii. He hates her, and begins to choke her.
Sami comes back into the present with her own fingers around her neck. She is determined not to lose Brandon, so Nicole cannot tell him anything. She PULLS THE PLUG! Nicole sighs as her head drops to the side. Sami is shocked.....she cannot believe she did this. Nicole is dead. She stands with the plug in her hand, still not believing what she has done.
Sami shakes her head, as her conscience says No, it is all gone. It was a daydream. Nicole is still alive, you are not a murderer. Look, the plug is still in the wall. Sami is relieved as she sees Nicole is still breathing, and says aloud, Thank God you are still alive. She starts to leave, but wonders if she wobbled the plug at all, wanting to be certain it is in the outlet securely. She doublechecks the plug to make sure it is in place, as Nicole's eyes open, & she looks up, her eyes reflecting fear, as she sees Sami's hand on the plug. Fade to black & white, then distorted view. And the credits roll.

Jack & Jennifer compare notes, Nancy is disappointed, the vigil outside Nicole's room continues, & in Dry Creek, the Days folks give a sly wink to Brady/Chloe fans

IN CRAIG'S OFFICE
Nancy cannot hide her disappointment at the results of the two pregnancy tests she has already taken, & asks a weary Craig to get a couple more, in case she got a false negative. Craig lovingly tells her they have the house to themselves tonite, why not take advantage, and let nature takes it's course. Nancy smiles & agrees, but calls Chloe first. She wonders why Chloe hasn't been answering her cell phone (hmmm, and doesn't ask for name of hotel she is staying at?), Chloe makes up an excuse, and cuts her off, saying Philip is making reservations for them at a fancy restaurant, and she abruptly hangs up. (Nancy thinks she is in New York w/Philip). Nancy wonders why it was sooooooo quiet, as NY is never quiet, but Craig calms her, and they leave.

OVER AT DOT COM
Over at .Com, Jennifer catches Jack up on the happenings at the hospital. Jack suspects Colin is somehow involved in the hit on Victor, and they banter back & forth. (love their repartee', they are so good at this). Jen claims Colin told her he had nothing to do with Victor & Nicole, and Jack innocently tells her that of course Colin would never lie. LOL. Jen brings up Billie, and the date she & Jack had, making Jack wonder how she knew about that. Her sources, sez Jen. Jack makes sure Jen knows Billie asked him. They both tiptoe around the subject of them each "moving on" , making excuses for it. (WHEN are they gonna admit they want each other?). Jack pulls the psychology book out, saying he is going to return it. Jen is appalled, telling him he cannot read it, then return it (That's Jack, always watching his nickels, lol). They talk of the book, & it was no help in regard to Tony, but then there are missing years with a few people, Marlena has missing years, then John, and now Tony. Jen spots Colin, who has come for coffee, (claims he cannot stand the cafeteria coffee - gee, and I always thought the doctors had their own special room, at least mine always did) and joins him. She babbles on, smooth talking him about the camp fire and openly flirting. Jack is watching, with headphones on, and drinking his coffee, when a hand reaches out from behind, pulling off the headphones, causing Jack to spit out the coffee. (ewwww) It's Vern, who has come for special coffee beans that Jo likes, as he wants to give her breakfast in bed, and asks Jack to make sure he leaves really early in the a.m. Jack nearly chokes, thinking about what that means with his mom & Vern, lol, when Vern continues on, asking Jack when he is going to leave permanently, suggesting he open the paper to the classifieds. Meanwhile Colin is giving Jen a snowjob about his non-feelings for Nicole, but Jen remembers them kissing in Salem Place. He leaves, & Jen wonders if Jack is right about Colin being involved in the hit on Victor. Jack joins her, and she assures him Colin did not spot them together earlier.

BACK AT THE HOSPITAL
Back at the hospital, a replay of Sami's hand on plug as Nicole's eyes open and spot her. Her monitor alarms go off, and Colin rushes in, followed by Victor, Brandon & Roman, all wondering what Sami is doing in there. Colin demands the inquisition go outside, as he tends to Nicole. Victor is having a fit, Sami is mumbling a flimsy excuse about wanting to make peace w/Nik (Oh, that is rich!), and Brandon reluctantly defends Sami, saying with no medical background, she had no idea what her presence might do. He adds that someone in a coma is still aware of what is going on, thus Nicole might have gotten agitated at Sami being there.
Brandon & Victor talk alone about Sami, with Victor trying to make Brandon see that Sami had problems with Carrie, Austin, Lucas, & he should take heed. Brandon tells Vic it was wrong of him to put that ring on Nicole's finger while she was in this coma. That although she had told Brandon she was going to accept Vic's proposal, to Brandon it is for all the wrong reasons, and she may feel differently when she awakens.
Roman is reproaching Sami, telling her she is so self-absorbed, she never thinks of anyone else. Sami lets him know she would not have let Lucas take Will for the whole summer willingly. Roman realizes that they have something to hold over her head, but tries to show her how her plots have always led her into trouble. She claims he never approves of men she dates, and he tells her she is not dating, she is chasing, and there is a difference. He warns her about staying away from Victor, Nicole and Brandon.
Later, Brandon sees Sami sitting alone in the waiting room. He warns her about staying away from Victor & Nicole. She tells him about Nicole opening her eyes, when she was in the room, and they talk of the shooting. Sami says she was trying to push Nicole out of the way, and lies about why she was at the Salem Inn, saying only she overheard Nicole saying she was going to get engaged to Victor, and she wanted to see if she could talk her out of it. (Cannot believe Brandon would buy that!)
Fay returns, and she and Victor talk outside Nicole's room, with Victor assuring Fay of how much he cares for Nicole, and that she will have the best care, rehab, etc. whatever it takes. (Victor, Fay is wayyyyyyy closer to your age, and is still younger than you! Take a good look!) Later Fay and Brandon chat about Nicole marrying Victor.

IN DRY CREEK
We get a replay of Chloe and Brady finding Dr. Thompson gone, and the nurse perplexed as to why. They hear sirens, the nurse explains she called the sheriff, when they all were making such a ruckus, and Philip goes to the window to check. Brady & Chloe take off, but the Sheriff catches Philip, arrests and handcuffs him, saying something about them trying to steal drugs. When the nurse announces there were two others, Philip immediately goes into his Dr. Jeckyl mode, blames Brady, saying he is always doing these sort of things, quickly concocting a big story about being related, and how his dad tries to get Brady on the straight and narrow, but is always disappointed, etc. etc. He offers pay for the damage, saying nothing was stolen after all. He brings up his father's name, and gets the sheriff to agree to let him go if he fingers Brady for him, assuring the sheriff that the girl had nothing to do with it all.
Meanwhile, Brady & a disappointed Chloe return to their room, not understanding how in that tiny town, no one saw the doctor. Brady assures her he will go door to door if he has to, and promises it will be quicker if she stays behind. He leaves, and Chloe begins to check the phone book for train, planes & buses out of town. Nancy calls her (see above) and she puts her off.
In the lobby, the manager gets a call from the sheriff, telling him to delay Brady, which he does, manufacturing some excuse about a carbon for his credit card. Outside the sheriff arrives with Philip, who indicates that is Brady inside. His handcuffs unlocked, Philip gleefully hides, while the sheriff goes inside to arrest Brady. When they leave, Phil goes up to Chloe's room. As he gives her the 3rd degree, about why she took off with Brady, in exasperation she tells him that Sykes was her father, perhaps her last chance for a bone marrow transplant, and that Philip ruined it all. She knew he would go off rashly, which is why she did not tell him, and he did exactly that. Philip promises to try and help.
Meanwhile Brady, in cuffs, appears in court, with a judge and baliff. The sign on the judge's desk (here is that sly wink I mentioned above) plainly says Judge BROE. Lololol. The judge asks Brady if he is representing himself, and Brady says no, he wants a lawyer. He wants to make his one phone call. Oops, the phone is broke, he cannot call anyone. Brady says he has a cell phone, but it was confiscated, and the judge replies that it will remain confiscated. Brady comments on "small town justice" and the judge says that remark will be duly noted. Brady wants to know how, since there is no court reporter. Judge tells him to mind his manners. Then Brady is told that they know what to do with city slicker trouble makers & that since he wants a lawyer, and the phone doesn't work, he will have to spend the night locked up, and wait til morning. He is led from the courtroom, and before going thru the door, turns around to look at the judge. And the credits roll.

Close Encounters for both the hospital and the teens today. Sami exchanges words with Brandon, Lexi, and Tony today. Marlena has second thoughts about telling Agent Spector (and John) about Cassie and Rex.

HOSPITAL
Tony arrives looking for Dr. Murphy (again? I'm lucky to see my doctor when I have an appointment scheduled with him) and the lobby is empty (not even any hospital staff). Brandon walks by and he tells Tony about Nicole's being shot. Tony is surprised at Stefano's supposed responsibility for the shooting being he's been dead for months. Brandon tells Tony, Lexie's brother or not, what will happen if he learns Tony's involved at all. Tony decides he doesn't want Brandon around Lexie any more than possible.

Elsewhere, the hospital is bustling as Sami and Lexie exchange barbs about Sami's being at the Salem Inn when the hit happened. Lexie (with hands on hips) warns her to stay clear of Brandon and takes joy in telling Sami she and Brandon are "very close". Sami walks away wondering how close. Lexie and Brandon go out onto the terrace and he tells her about accusing Tony of being involved with Nicole's shooting. They talk about what happened in his apartment. She apologizes if she hurt him and hopes they're still friends. He remembers their talk at Salem Place about how Abe figured out she was with him. They concur they're still friends and he talks about how Sami did a 180 on him and was also at the Salem Inn when Nicole was shot. He leaves to talk to Sami.

Lexie joins Tony and asks about how he handled the affair Kristen had with John. He suggests Lexie come back to the mansion to live and be proud to be a Dimera.

Tony continues wandering the halls looking for Colin when Sami finds him, anxious to talk. They both tell each other that they desperately need each other's help. She tells him how both Victor and Nicole have something on her. As he pours some decaf, she mentions he hasn't helped her get Brandon yet. He tells her that he wants her to get something John stole from him in return for his help. Cue a little nervous look on Sami's face as she tells him this was what her family warned her about. Defensive, she asks what he wants her to get. He tells her it's a key and John broke into his house and stole it. John is not his friend as she thinks. Sami remembers John's telling her about how the DiMera's were the ones who kidnapped her mother and put her to sleep. Sami draws the line saying she won't do anything that could harm her family. (atta girl!) With arms crossed, he explains how he'll press charges of breaking and entering against John. He uses another tactic of how much tension will be between her mother and John as Brandon walk up. Brandon's concerned the way Tony's talking to Sami and walks out with her, saying he wants to talk. She gets a call on her cell. Excited she answers and tells Tony the love of her life is back!

BRADY GARAGE
Marlena holds the blue key and warns Belle and Shawn not to mention the key to anyone. Belle's concerned about her mom and asks why. Marlena gives the key back to Rex and explains she just feels Rex and Cassie need privacy. Belle agrees, that's why they've kept this quiet for so long. Marlena asks Rex for the key back, but he tells her no. She tells Belle she was just going to try and figure out what it opens. Marlena excuses herself to go home and talk to John about this. She tells Rex and Cassie she hopes to see them soon and they smile and bid her goodbye (Rex tells her "let the force be with you" and shakes her hand LOL!) Belle's relieved how easy that went after her mother went and they ponder if Rex and Cassie are aliens or not. He tells her that he and his dad had an issue, but worked it out. She hugs him, glad to hear that as R&C watch. She asks Shawn if he thought her mom acted a little stranger then usual and if something was bothering her.

Cassie and Rex both want to go home and Belle and Shawn piece together that they don't have a mom, dad or home.

PENTHOUSE and RC PHONE HOME?
John and his own blue key are having a private moment when someone knocks on the door. He greets whoever it is with "what have you got for me". It's Agent Russell Spector who's also investigating the situation. They talk about Sami's involved with Tony.

Marlena returns to an empty penthouse (?) and remembers Belle telling her about suspecting that Rex and Cassie were locked up and warning them not to tell anyone about the key. John joins her (must have been in the kitchen?) and she starts to tell him something about the key when Agent Spector joins them. John introduces them and lets Marlena know how Agent Spector is investigating the key too and was the one responsible for tracking down and stopping Lexie from flying off with Issac/Zack. Spector and Marlena can talk freely in front of each other and know whatever's said won't leave the room. Marlena pauses, debating how much to say as John encourages her to talk. We return after she's told them both about the twins. John's mad, knowing Belle had been lying to them and goes on the balcony to answer a call about the satellite photos. Spector mentions how B&S didn't tell him about this the night of the incident. He values Marlena's professional analyses of Rex and Cassie. She tells them she believes the children are human and learning quickly. In time she feels they can tell their own story. He appreciates the info and rushes off before John returns. She asks if he's going after the children and he only responds that she can trust him. Apparently Marlena doesn't as she rushes to call Belle's cell and warns her about a government agent on the way over now. She tells Belle to get out of there quickly and go somewhere other then the penthouse. Call and tell her where they are and she and John will meet them there. Belle tells Shawn that they need to get Rex and Cassie out and the hilltop where they found them might be what R&C consider as home. They hear a car drive up and rush out the back door to the garage.

John returns and Marlena is upset that Spector went after the "twins". He asks why she calls them twins and she explains they're about the same age and how Belle nicknamed them the Gemini twins from the meteor shower. When she tells John they have a key just like his, he rushes out to get his daughter and Shawn away from those "twins". Marlena pulls him in and reminds him that Belle and Shawn have been with the twins all summer and are okay. She's met them and they're innocent children. John's sure they're connected to DiMera and wants to go see them. She tells him she warned the kids off and calls Belle's cellphone. No answer. John calls Spector and tells him he knows (that they've left the garage) and will join him. He tells Marlena to stay home and wait for any calls from Belle, he'll go and bring their daughter home. Marlena breaks down and he turns around and concerned, hugs her. She doesn't know why she's so emotional about this and asks that he keep all the kids safe. Alone by the elevator, he tells Marlena he's sorry, but protecting his family is his priority. Inside the penthouse moments later, Marlena senses trouble and grabs her purse. She rushes out saying No, NO..

The teens are on lookout point as they hear a rumbling noise. Shawn tells her it's just a plane or something as a light illuminates their area. The twins look up saying HOME. Figured whatever it is came to take Rex and Cassie home. Belle warns Shawn not to tell anymore ET jokes and they say goodbye to the other two. Cassie hugs Shawn and Rex hugs Belle. While he's hugging her, he remembers Marlena's warning about the key and slips the key into Belle's purse, unbeknownst to her. Rex and Cassie climb the ladder dropped down to them (LOL, Rex is taking his I LOVE SALEM bag with souvenirs inside apparently) and slowly climb the ladder into the ship. The ladder's raised as Belle and Shawn watch from the bushes as the credits roll....
