Episode #: 9367
Directed by: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 7/12/02

Summary:
Kind of a slow day...Jenn escapes Colin's clutches (with a little help from Jack)...The kids spend the night at the Cabin...John pays a visit to the loft...and some sweet moments for the "Phloes" (Philip and Chloe fans). All this while the storm continues to rage on around Salem.

Jack and Jennifer...
Jack is at the hospital dictating a story on his tape recorder about the storm. Tony shows up demanding to see Colin. Meanwhile, Jenn and Colin are in the shack as he pours the wine (and the charm to her). As they talk, Jenn is very uncomfortable, but is able to blame it on the storm. Colin offers to go and get the car and she waits. While he is gone, she contemplates putting on the brooch, but changes her mind. Colin returns soaked and tells her that the car won't start. She tries her cell phone, but has no signal, coming to the conclusion they will be stuck there for a while. She drops her purse and he sees the brooch asking why she isn't wearing it. He puts it on her (which I assume activates it for Jack can now hear them). Jenn (very slickly) gives clues as to where they are as Jack rushes off to save her. Jenn continues to lead Colin on but is able to hold him off from kissing her. There is a loud banging on the door and Colin finds a state trooper there who offers to take them back to town. (Jack called the state police). Later, they are back at the hospital drying off as Jenn wonders where Jack is. Tony gets Colin alone and they talk about John knowing about the satellite photos. Tony thinks that John is way ahead of them in figuring out what the key is for and they talk about needing to get it back. Jack and Jenn meet up in the hallway and he informs her that he is the one who called the police. She is grateful but afraid that if he hangs too close, he might blow her cover. She says she must get Colin to trust her so she can bring him and Tony down.

On Smith Island...
Belle and Shawn wonder what the sketch means as Cassie and Rex seem to be fighting. The asks what's wrong and what does the key mean to them, but the don't answer. Belle continues to question them but Cassie gets upset and agitated. Mimi and Kevin return (they found some clothes...LOL at Kevin's overalls). Mimi asks about the bracelets (says they look like mood rings...LOL...love that Mimi). Mimi suggests that maybe the twins are just putting them on and know more than they are letting on. Shawn calls home but can't get Bo, but he does get Alice, who advises them to stay put during the storm. Belle also reports that Marlena offered the same advice. They find food and decide on a meal of pasta, can sodas and gelatin cups. (as Rex and Cassie continue to recite TV commercials). Later as they finish dinner, Rex and Cassie have trouble with the gelatin cups as everyone laughs at their attempts to eat them. Kevin deduces that they seem to be human. But Mimi offers that maybe they are green lizard people who have taken on human form. Shawn says he saw that movie and Rex adds "Two thumbs down". (As silly as this is...it DOES have it's moments). Later, they are settling in for the eveing (they have hung a sheet across the room with the guys on one side, girls on the other). As the guys undress, Cassie is peeking. They turn out the lights and Mimi sneaks over to kiss Kevin goodnight. Shawn does the same with Belle as the twins observe them. Later, Cassie dreams of the key and wakes up screaming. Belle and Shawn wonder what the key means and decide they need to get their hands on it to solve the mystery.

Chloe and Philip...
Philip watches over Chloe as she sleeps on the sofa. Craig and Nancy call as he assures them she is doing fine and will stay with her. She wakes up, happy to find him there. He talks about how well she is doing and promises she will continue to get better and have the future they dreamed of. They also talk about that time in the barn that it was storming and they almost had sex. She apologizes for accusing him of rape and he forgives her. They talk about things they have been through and what she is facing now. He promise her that the best is yet to come. He tells her that love can cause miracles and that together they can defeat this. He says that they love each other too much for anything to happen to her. He has a gift for her and she opens the box to find a chunk of meteor. He makes her lie down to rest and promises to be there when she wakes up. When she does awaken, he has the room lit with candles as she says he makes things magical. He professes his love for her and talks about how beautiful she is and they kiss. She pulls away, but that's okay with Philip, he just wants to hold her. They put their hands on the meteor as he tells her to make a wish. She wishes it could be like this forever. He promises her that his love IS forever.

Over at the Loft...
John goes over to visit Brady. They talk about finding Chloe's father and John tells him he has come up empty so far. He says he has a friend at the state department and that his passport hasn't been used since 1991 and is like he disappeared. John thinks maybe he got involved in something and is now under the witness protection program. But, he promises not to give up the search. Brady thinks that Philip (and others) are not trying hard enough and that they are leading Chloe to live in denial. Brady wonders how John could handle it when Isabella was so sick. Brady goes on to talk about how his mom is there and John says that he can feel her (but not like Brady). Brady tells him that he sees and hears her and that she is giving him advice. Brady thinks she is trying to help with Chloe, but John patronizes him. With a crack of lightening, the power goes out. Brady continues to talk about the strange things that have been going on as John looks at him odd (like he is crazy). John says that after she died, he could feel her as well. Brady sees her reflection in the mirror but John doesn't see it. Brady tries to convince John that he isn't make it up. John tells him that his mother loved him very much and that if she is offering him guidance, to trust it. After John leaves, Isabella appears to Brady. In the hallway, John pulls out the key and talks to it a while. He says whatever the key unlocks, it will affect them all. He must make sure that Tony never gets his hands on it. Back inside, Brady goes to get his dad, but Isabella stops him, telling him that she is there to help him...and Chloe. Brady asks how. She tells him to never give up hope, then disappears. Her voice tells him to follow his heart...his love for Chloe will tell him how. And the credits roll.

Episode: 9368
Directed by: Mary Maderias
Tape Date: Various

We return to "Trapped in Salem" as Brandon and Sami, Kate and Roman, and Billie and Bo are all trapped during the storm..2 out of 3 couples kiss, but which 2???. Marlena goes looking for Sami, but discovers something else instead.

A LITTLE CLAUSTROPHOBIC KATE?
Roman‚s amused as Kate freaks out in the trapped elevator. When talking doesn‚t calm her down and she tells him to DO something...he comes up behind her and covers her mouth with his hand, LOL!! (how many out there would like to change places with him, ha!). She bites him out of reflex. He complains about his cut hand where she bit him and she dabs something on it. He jumps as it smarts..and she tells him it‚s perfume ($95/oz) but it contains alcohol that will work as a disinfectant. Later we return to Kate covering her nose as the perfume is a bit much in the elevator, even for her. They apologize for what happened, but he admits she was buggin him and didn‚t know what else to do. He complains about being hungry after only a couple breadsticks while waiting for Sami. She brings an energy bar out of that itty bitty purse and gives it to him, but he says he‚ll eat it later. A business card fell out of her purse when she got him the bar and he picks it up and realizes it‚s an appt. with the executor of Stefano‚s estate. He asks why she‚s meeting with him as he‚s not her type (nosey, aren‚t ya Roman?). He explains he wants to help her and notices the look on her face when Stefano‚s name is mentioned. She needs support to survive the DiMera‚s and he‚s offering her that. She whips back she doesn‚t need his support or attention and feels only contempt for him. Poor Roman‚s been alone too long as he doesn‚t believe her. She proves it by grabbing him and kissing him. Her leg raises as they continue kissing, but jumps back and grabs her lips (did he bite her, haha) , saying no chemistry (he sure kissed the lipstick off her lips, haha). Perfect timing as the electricity comes back on and they prepare to get off the elevator. The two banter about the experience and she leaves.

DIMANSION IS DA EERIE
The lights are out there too as Tony studies his satellite photos via candlelight. The thunder is booming, the lightning flashing as he walks to the door (someone‚s knocking) while holding his candle. It‚s Marlena. He‚s surprised and asked what brings her out on such a night (GOOD question). She figures he‚d know. She‚s there looking for Sami as she missed her dinner date with Roman and she wasn‚t in her apartment. Tony tells her Sami‚s not there, but will gladly escort her around to see for herself. She wants to go alone, but he tells her she‚ll need him to know where to go. They return after searching the whole house and he mentions it‚s Eliana‚s night off. He tells her about him and John being partners in the philanthropic Gemini Project. He watches her reaction and is disappointed when she doesn‚t react while looking at the satellite photos. She tells him she‚s not happy about him and John being partners. He goes into a trance and collapses into a convenient chair as Marlena tries to help him. He keeps hearing a voice telling him he knows what he has to do. She figures he‚s faking it. He says he must come back for Marlena and she turns around startled. She asks if he hears her as he stares in the distance. She touches his neck and asks why he said what he did. He says her name again and that he must protect her and bring something home. He looks at her and comes out of his trance, asking why she‚s there. Noticing she‚s upset, he asks what he said. She brings him water and tells him what he said. He doesn‚t know what it meant and she tells him he should talk to someone professionally. He tells her he‚s talking to her. She doesn‚t think it‚s appropriate, but agrees to help him anyway and will call him when she has openings. The sun‚s coming up and she tells him to blow out his candle. He remembers Marlena‚s look of concern earlier and wonders if she cares about him after all.

DETECTIVE AND THE ROOKIE
A replay of Billie and Bo arguing about her doing the undercover work when his cell rings. She tosses it across the room when they hear a noise on the roof. It‚s a live electrical line and it‚s a snappin‚ and a crackin‚. They‚re cornered as water is coming in. The two push a wood crate over to get on and out of the water. She takes the opportunity to lobby for her job as he explains it‚s not HIS policy, but the department‚s. He mentions they‚ve been planning this bust for months and didn‚t need Officer Billie Reed to do it. He argues she wanted his undivided attention. She tells him she did it for the baby, Maria‚s baby. The water‚s rising and they stand on the crate now while debating (I‚d be yelling HEEEELLLLPPPPP) myself!! Her foot goes through the crate and he catches her from falling. They finally realize they need help and a way out (ahhh, Salem‚s finest ;-) Bo spots somewhere above they can go to, but it‚s too high to jump to. Billie suggests some teamwork and refers to him as "partner". He hoists her up on his shoulders and helps her stand on his shoulders next. She reaches up to the wood beam above and she pulls herself up. She balances on the beam as she walks to the window. She tells him it‚s sealed shut (not too many windows that high up probably open anyway) and using her bare foot, karate kicks the glass creating an almost perfect hole in it. She knocks the remaining glass out and tells him she‚ll have to jump and does so screaming, much to Bo‚s horror being she‚s probably 3 stories up. Soon after, she calls to him from outside the door saying she called for help. Salem FD is FAST as they‚re there in seconds and turned off the power to the building already. Bo thanks Billie and she favors her ankle and admits it‚s a little sore (yeah, she‚s not soaked, so she didn‚t jump in the river, how did she only sprain an ankle from that jump?.) He picks her up and insists she go to the hospital.

UP ON THE ROOF
Brandon and Sami keep warm doing what comes naturally ;-) (What‚s with the wrinkled roof floor, LOL! Oil cloth anyone?) When they come up for air, she apologizes for hurting him and begs him to believe in them. He plays the rotten childhood record and she looks up asking that lightning strike her dead if she‚s lying. She promises to love him forever. He asks about Austin and she tells him Austin was a childhood fantasy and not real, like their love is. Her heart is so filled with love she can tell him anything and he loves her for who she is. His love makes all her hurt about losing Austin and her son for the summer go away. She tells him she knows he loves her too and always will. He looks down at her and tells her he does love her and kisses her. She asks him to make love to her and off comes his shirt...as he takes her blouse off, leaving her camisole on. The two fall to the rooftop, er, oil cloth, kissing passionately when the door is opened by hospital security officers. He asks how long they‚ve been up there as Sami hides behind Brandon, saying not long enough. Note it‚s pouring rain at this time, but seconds later it stopped when Sami and Brandon tell security they‚ll be down soon. Brandon assures Sami as long as they have each other, everything will be okay. She puts her blouse on and needs confirmation he loves her. He looks at her lovingly and says he‚ll wake up to her every morning from now on. A nurse comes to get him as he‚s needed in pediatrics. Sami knows what happened will be all over the hospital, but he‚s glad about that. He tells her to go home and get dried off and some sleep, they‚ll talk later. (Might want to touch base with Brenda too on your way out Sami). She tells him she loves him and he tells her the same as they kiss and hug in bliss as the credits roll.....

Episode #9369
Taped 7/18/02
Director - Roger W. Inman***

A sunshiny, new day dawns in Salem. Emotions run high at the Carvers as James Reynolds & Renee' Jones give another stellar performance. Sami & Brandon plan their evening, Kate & Billie keep their secrets while supposedly catching up with each other.

AT THE HOSPITAL
At the hospital, Sami, in hospital greens, is drying her hair and remembering her passionate encounter with Brandon on the roof. (Allison has no makeup on, and looks just beautiful!) Brandon arrives, also in hospital greens, and both are anxious to resume where they left off. Before you know it, both are kissing and down on the floor, lol, but a cooler head prevails as Brandon draws back. He hasn't changed his mind, but is on a 5 minute break, and doesn't want their first time to be so rushed. Sami is disappointed, but they make a dinner date for tonite at his apt.
Later, Brandon calls Sami to confirm their date, and Nik overhears, getting upset, and telling Brandon she thought he was over her. Brandon thought he was, too, but mentions they were caught on the roof in the storm. Nik is not happy, but remembers her conversation with Victor about Sami, and decides not to talk to Brandon about Victor's latest conversation (see below) and leaves. Brandon is printing out a recipe from the internet, I guess, and says "spicy & saucy - penne w/putenesca - tonight will be perfect".

SALEM PLACE
Salem Place bustles w/activity as Victor joins Nicole at the Java Café. She's been thinking about his ultimatum, and is not happy. Vic explains how he wants a mature, committed relationship, and wants to be able to trust her completely. He feels strongly about her, but Nik is not happy about his veiled threats about what happens to those who thwart him. She has more thinking to do, as Victor leaves. (I'd be very wary, Nicole. )

Kate is walking around, talking on her cell phone (O.K., is she shopping, going for breakfast, what? Why is she not conducting business at Basic Black?), as she spots Vic & Nik having coffee. She turns away, to see Billie limping by. Billie tries to brush her off, saying she is late for work (What - is Salem Place a shortcut to the cop shop, too?), but Kate is insistent. Billie tells her she is doing well at work, did a good job the nite before, working with Bo. Kate tells her she knows Billie wants Bo, but Billie says "you'd be surprised at what I want", then claims it is just to be a good cop. Billie changes the conversation to Kate, who mentions Roman, and Billie is not happy, claiming only that Roman is her boss, when Kate inquires why. Kate says not to worry, she would never date Roman, and hell would freeze over before she's consider it. Cue Roman to walk up, asking what won't she consider. Bo is with him, they all exchange a few words, with Billie commenting on her little sprain, which will be fine. Bo walks off a few steps w/Billie, assuring her he gave a good report to Roman about last nite. He tells her all is over, and we move on, as he walks off. Billie stands there, looking after him, saying to herself, "not without me, Bo".

EARLIER, AT THE COP SHOP
At the Cop shop, Roman congratulated Bo on the drug bust. Bo calls Hope. She'd called several times the nite b/4 and was quite worried, but Bo tells her only that he was on a case (Uh, oh, Bo.....now that may be the truth, but rather evasive, wouldn't you say?) Hope tells Bo how Lexie knew of the baby switch long before. Later Bo tells Roman how Lexie paid Barb to keep quiet, and then calls Abe.
Bo & Roman talk of the drug bust the night before, and Roman says Billie's only been there two weeks and trying to take over, needs discipline. Bo defends her, saying tho she was out of line getting in on the case, once there she did a good job, was professional, and saved his life. Roman agrees not to punish Billie, and suggests they go for breakfast. (Gee, and not to the Hudson St. diner....thought that was the cop hangout, lol) As they walk in Salem Place, Roman mentions Kate, and her appointment with the DiMera attorney. He is bound & determined to find out about the kippers legacy, and intends to keep a close eye on Kate. And lo....there she is! (see above)

SAMI
Sami is at her apt, all dressed, when there is a knock at the door. Tis Nikki, who looks at the various dresses laying on the couch, and asks if Sami is trying to decide which one is tackier (lol, perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black). She very sweetly tells Sami she is going to have to cancel her date.

IN THE CARVER BEDROOM
In the Carver bedroom, Abe & Lexie awaken, basking in the afterglow of the night of love. Both are very happy, as they talk of how Stef upset their lives, and how repentant Lexie is for what she put Abe thru, but they are starting anew. They kiss, and then make love again. Abe decides he is going to make breakfast in bed for his lovely wife, and goes downstairs. As he is carrying the tray towards the stairs, the phone rings, and it is Bo. Upstairs, Lexie is wondering what is taking Abe so long, and laughingly calls out, asking if he got lost. She goes downstairs, to find Abe standing by the phone, with a disbelievingly look on his face, as he spits out, how could you? He rants at Lexie about her lies, and confronts her about how long she knew about the baby switch. Lexie attempts to squirm out of it, but Abe goes on about her lies, how selfish she was, how she put herself above Bo, Hope, Glen, Barb, Abe, and especially JT and Zack, not caring if those two boys went thru their entire lives not knowing who they were, and keeping them both away from their bio parents. Abe is agonizing as he says he is sick over what she did, and that he is "sick over what I just did". He talks of trust, and without it a marriage is nothing and without it, we have nothing. Lexie is crying, as she begs forgiveness, saying he has forgiven her for other stuff, just forgive her for this, but Abe is adamant. He tells her to go get dressed, and to get out of this house.
Lexie, dressed, comes downstairs, once more asking Abe to reconsider, asking for time. Abe sorrowfully tells her she is out of time, he is filing for divorce, as he goes to the door, opens it, and stands there. (Telling you folks, Reynolds is giving a most powerful & moving performance - applause, applause). Lexie goes out the door, turns, looking imploringly at Abe, as he closes the door on her. She leans against the door, crying. On the other side, Abe walks to a table, tears forming in his eyes. He yells his rage & frustration, and slams the breakfast tray to the floor, crying.
And the credits roll.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 15, 2002

Episode #: 9370
Directed by: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 7/18/02

Supper plans are being made (but will anyone actually "eat") as the teens gather at Salem Place. John isn‚t happy about Marlena‚s counseling Tony and Brady apologizes to Marlena for his behavior when he first returned to Salem. Chloe‚s asked to dinner by both Brady and Philip.

SALEM PLACE
Craig and Nancy are off to the movies. She goes to call Chloe, but Craig stops her, assuring her Philip‚s with her. Philip and Chloe are at Java Café. She‚s self-conscious about her turban, but he assures her she‚s beautiful in it. She assures him that she feels closer to him, but not able to plan the future with him or anyone right now.

In Salem Place, Belle checks her cell messages now that her phone works again. She gets the message that Chloe‚s home and in remission and wants to go see her when they see Mimi (who‚s suppose to be guarding Cassie and Rex). Not giving poor Meems a chance to explain, they rudely brush past her to go find the twins. (Kevin‚s probably with them you two!) Mimi chases them saying Kevin‚s with them (see!) on the boat and being they ate everything on the boat, she came shopping for more food. Lighthearted talk about the "aliens" by Mimi (she‚s a crack up), but Belle and Shawn don‚t think is funny. Mimi tells them to lighten up (atta girl). They talk about eventually reporting Cassie and Rex and Mimi compares it to the government chasing ET, LOL. A smiling Nancy and Craig walk by and tell the kids no donor has been found for Chloe yet. They all see Chloe and Philip at Java Café and Shawn asks Belle if she wants to go say hi. Belle wants to do something first and rushes off with Mimi and Shawn.

Meanwhile, Philip is trying to convince Chloe that she shouldn‚t worry and after she gets the bone marrow transplant, will forget this even happened when they‚re in NYC next year. Trying to make Chloe feel less conspicuous, Belle, Shawn and Mimi join them, all wearing scarf/turbans and bring a cowboy hat to Philip. Chloe smiles about it and the trio tell her about their new friends. Belle takes Philip aside (while Shawn and Mimi brief Chloe on Cassie and Rex) and gives him a reality check that Chloe is just in remission, not cured. She feels he‚s in denial, but he even denies that and returns to Chloe.

THE LOFT
Brady checks an internet search site for Frederick Sykes and is surprised there are no results. He remembers Chloe‚s reaction when he mentioned Isabella‚s being able to help them. Isabella appears and he tells her to get lost and leave him alone. She agrees if that‚s what he wants, and starts to fade when he calls her back. He apologizes for taking his anger out on her and explains it‚s a bad habit of his. He tells her he did the same thing to Marlena and hurt her so much, but Isabella felt Marlena understood he was really mad at her for leaving him. He realizes he should have felt sorry for her, not mad, considering all she left behind. He tells her Marlena was more understanding than his dad after she (Isabella) left them. He asks if she‚ll be there when he gets back and she nods yes. To herself, she knows what her son is about to do and is proud of him.

He returns home after his visit (see below). Isabella lets him know she was there to see what he said and Marlena was right, she is proud of him. She suggests he call Chloe.

Chloe is intrigued hearing about Cassie and Rex and wants to meet them. Philip suggests a party at his house to celebrate Chloe‚s recovery, but Belle explains Cassie and Rex have been overwhelmed enough for a while. Philip leaves to get Chloe another surprise and her cellphone rings (good timing). She looks at her phone, knowing it‚s Brady, and is short with him, asking what he wants. Looking at his mother, Brady explains he‚s felt distant lately with her and apologizes for his negativity. He invites her for dinner with his parents and assures her he‚s ordering in, not cooking. He‚ll get some Chinese and Indian food; lots of veggies for her and it‚ll be an evening of laughter. She agrees to come. Happily he hangs up, hoping he‚s helping Chloe. Isabella says he is. Philip returns with another cup of coffee, telling her they‚re going shopping for a new outfit for her. She tells him she doesn‚t need that, but he wants it for her to wear to Tuscany when he takes her there for dinner and dancing that evening.

Mimi goes to get the twins food when Kevin calls Belle. Bad news. Rex has been sending out strange messages on the ship to shore radio (ET phone home..or should I say, Rex phone home?)

THE KEY
Earlier, Shawn brings Belle home, supposedly long enough to say hi and they‚re safe, before running out again. They have the drawing of the key that Cassie made and wonder about it.

Inside the penthouse, Marlena is just about to tell John about her visit with Tony when B&S walk in. Belle walks in and is surprised, asking what that is. No, it‚s a sculpture, not the key (too easy). Before Belle and Shawn leave, Marlena asks what friends they were with at the cabin. She tells them Kevin and Mimi, then Cassie and Rex. She tells them they run into Cassie and Rex and aren‚t sure if they‚re brother and sister or what, before dropping the drawing (which is now folded in quarters). John picks it up and gives it back to her. The kids take off and Marlena tells Belle she‚ll see her at dinner. She invites Shawn to join them (as always) and he said he‚ll check with his dad and let them know and they leave. John asks Marlena if she was concerned about the kids spending the night on the island, but she reminds him he felt it would be too dangerous to return plus they were with friends. Poor John‚s face goes through contortions as he thinks about it and Marlena teases him that Belle will always be his little girl and he‚ll always worry about her. He asks her what she was going to tell him about Tony, but she doesn‚t want to worry him and says it was no big deal. He insists and she tells him she went to look for Sami and about what happened with Tony‚s blackout and his saying her name. She tells him about suggesting Tony getting therapy and his only wanting her as his therapist. She figures John would not be happy about that, but he is. She tells John she will not wear a wire or tell him what Tony says in therapy if he‚s her patient. He rants about what Tony‚s up to and even involving Sami. Their family and friend‚s safety is more important and he won‚t let her near Tony DiMera unless he‚s there to back her up. NOW they have a problem she says, crossing her arms. John‚s hands are going crazy as he tells her the problem is she went to the mansion alone (anyone remember James Cagney‚s YOU DIRTY RAT routine? The way John says this to Marlena reminds me of it as he talks and moves his hands, ha!) John is angry she didn‚t just call Tony on her cell or land phone and before he can say anymore, there‚s a knock at the door. Brady. He‚s there to apologize to Marlena for the way he treated her when he got home from college. He‚s surprised his dad didn‚t take his head off for the way he treated his wife. Marlena reminds him that he apologized before, but Brady tells her he can never apologize enough and figures she‚s still worried he‚ll become the ingrate he was before. No, she says he‚s a man now and has matured beyond that. On the verge of tears she tells him that when it comes to her children, she doesn‚t know it all and just wants him to be happy. Hug hug. He thanks John for everything and for giving him Marlena. John tells him they both lucked out and Brady explains his visit. It‚s because of his mom. He explains his childhood rationale about how he shut out Marlena and now realizes he did have a mother and apologizes again, saying he needed her. John tells him his mother would be proud of him. Marlena tells him she is proud of him too, more then he could ever know and she loves him. He asks them over for dinner being he sponged so many meals off them over the years. They insist on bringing dessert (uh, better let Belle and Shawn know?) Brady leaves Marlena and John touched by his visit. John feels like he owes Marlena an apology too, but she doesn‚t, Brady was his son and it was a difficult time for him too. He hugs her and tells her it‚s not safe for her to be around Tony now. She reminds him of all the times she‚s been concerned for his safety too. Did he listen? She feels she can handle Tony. John trusts her and has to rush off to take care of something and she tells him she‚ll meet him at Brady‚s and will bring the dessert. He leaves and out loud she says she‚s glad John has something to take care of as she also has a stop to make on the way to Brady‚s as the credits roll....

FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 2002***

Episode #: 9371
Directed by: Phil Sogard
Tape Date: 7/19/02

Summary:
Another "foodless dinner" in Salem (this time at Brady's)...Sami has a showdown with Victor and Nicole...Tony dreams of Marlena...as Lexie and Brandon find comfort in each others arms. Sorry, I know I missed a lot...very busy show with lots going on!

At DiMansion...
The show opens with Tony's doorbell ringing. It's Marlena with a sack of gifts. No actually, she is returning the gifts that Stefano left her and John (the pillow and the chess set). She wants him to take them back. He gets light headed and tells her that he is glad that she is there. She tells him that she can't be his doctor but will recommend someone else for him. After she leaves, a distraught Tony says that she is the only one who can help him...he needs her in his life. Later in the show, Tony rants and raves to Stefano's urn for his leaving so many mysteries. He wonders why he feels a connection to Marlena. He falls on the sofa and begins saying "Marlena" as he reaches out his hand for her. He begins to dream the dream of the white room (much like the one Marlena had). He is dressed in white as he lies on a gurney. He hears a voice telling him that when he wakes up, Marlena must be the one to turn the key and unlock his dreams. He mumbles "Marlena".

Over at Salem Place...
Kate and Victor are strolling around, while Kate complains to him about Nicole harassing her. She even threatens legal action against her. Victor spots Philip and Chloe and is concerned about his involvement with her. He is afraid that if something happens to Chloe, it may devastate Philip. For the moment, Kate and Victor put differences aside and worry over their son.

Philip and Chloe are still at Java Café as they replay his dinner invitation. She asks him if they can do it tomorrow because Brady invited her to dinner. Philip gets upset and says that he is not going to let her have dinner with Brady. She assures him that Brady is only a friend and that there is no reason to be jealous. With a kiss she is gone, leaving Philip angry.

Dinner at Brady's...
John shows up for dinner, telling him that he has some more info on Dr. Sykes. He tells Brady that Sykes was a doctor for some international drug lord. But when he was busted, Sykes disappeared 2 years ago, leaving John to think that he is in the witness protection program. Marlena arrives (pink desert box in hand) as she and Brady hug. Chloe arrives a few minutes later as Brady pulls her aside and apologizes to her for his behavior. He sees his mother sssh him and tell him that she wants to hear them sing. He asks her to sing for them and she obliges as Isabelle touches her on the shoulder. Brady begins to play and Chloe sings "I'll Be Seeing You (In all the Old Familiar Places)". As this is going on, John has a long string of flashbacks of him and Isabella, ending with him teary eyed. When finished, Chloe is perplexed, not sure why she sang that song, she didn't even know she knew the words. John tells her it was Isabella's favorite. John walks over and plays the first few notes on the piano as Brady asks if he felt her presence as well. When Chloe understands what is going on, she begins to get upset and storms out, saying that she isn't going to die like his mother as Brady chases after her. Alone, Marlena comforts a shaken John. He changes the subject and asks where she was. She informs him that she returned the gifts to Tony and refused to be his therapist. He is upset with her at first (for going over there alone), but glad she did it. John questions her about Tony's episodes as she explains that she believes they are real and that he DOES need help. In the hall, Brady tries to reason with Chloe, but she is too upset to listen. She asks him what's next?...going shopping for her coffin? She gets on the elevator and tells him to leave her alone and stay away from her.

She runs in to Philip down at Salem Place, telling him that going to Brady's was a mistake. They hug and she doesn't want to talk about it as she tells him that he is all she needs. Philip has an idea and wants to take her away.

Back at Brady's, he returns to the loft upset. Marlena offers to try and talk to Chloe for him, but he says no. He MUST find her father. Marlena says that Roman used to work in the witness protection program...maybe he can help.

Down at the Cop Shop...
Lexie and Celeste show up looking for Abe. They head into his office to find Mickey with him going over divorce papers. Lexie turns on the water works and begins to plead with him. (She even blames poor old Mickey, calling him the "destroyer of her life" saying first he took her baby from her...now her husband!) Lexie says that she can't live without him but Abe can't live with her. Seeing that it is a brick wall, Celeste offers to take her home until Lexie points out that she HAS no home. She breaks down and rushes out. Any bets on where she goes?

At Brandon's Place...
He has the place all cleaned up (himself as well) with candles and the table set. When the doorbell rings, he finds Lexie there in tears, hysterical. She invites herself on in and sees the table, seeing that he was expecting someone else. She isn't too thrilled to learn that it's Sami.

Over at Sami's...
Sami and Nicole continue to argue over Brandon, with Nicole threatening her, saying if she doesn't stop, she will lose everything. She continues as she lists Sami's evil deeds. Sami swears that it is Brandon who is pursuing her. The phone rings (it's Brandon) as Nicole tells her to break it off. After answering, Sami panics and hangs up on him. She and Nicole continue to argue, leading Sami to throw her out. She rips open the door to find Victor standing there. He and Nicole double-team Sami, continuing to berate and threaten her. They force Sami to call Brandon and break their date. Brandon asks what's wrong, but she only tells him that it won't work. With no explanation, she hangs up. Nicole continues to taunt Sami until Sami has had enough. She says it all goes back to the fact that Austin loved HER and even though Nicole tried, he never even showed interest in her. On a roll, Sami calls Victor "Old Man Moneybags" and Nicole "high priced arm candy" (LOL). She asks Nicole just HOW LONG does it take to get old Victor revved up anyway. Victor tells her to watch her mouth and she tells him to go to HELL. She talks about his health and how he had a stroke when she threatened to reveal some nasty secrets before. She says that maybe she can dig up some dirt on Nicole as well (she sees that she hits a nerve there). She tells him that she isn't looking for him to have another stroke...she wants something fatal this time. Victor tells her that nothing is going to happen to him for he has too much to live for. As they leave, he tells Sami to behave and stay out of trouble. In the hallway, they kiss. Inside, as Sami stews in her juices, she says that she is NOT going to give up on Brandon...she WILL get him.

Back over at Brandon's, he is upset after his call with Sami. He says that she has played him again. Furious, he picks up a vase and throws it across the room. He continues to demolish the place as Lexie helplessly watches. She tries to calm him down, saying that she sympathizes with him, knowing exactly how he feels.

Later, as Abe looks at a picture of him and Lexie, Celeste comes in and tells him that she can tell that they still love each other. She asks him to give Lexie another chance and urges him to open up his heart and talk to her before signing anything. He picks up the phone and calls her cell phone. But Brandon and Lexie are hugging and she doesn't answer it. She tells Brandon that he is not alone and that she will stand by him. He grabs her and kisses her hard as the cell phone continues to ring...and the credits roll.
