Episode: 9319
Directed by: Mary Madieras
Tape Date: 5/13/02

Summary:
Lexie goes ballistic and is taken away as the Christening continues...Philip, Mimi and Chloe get a little closer to the truth...the Hortons and Bradys celebrate at the pub. Thumbs up performances today for James Reynolds & Renee Jones (Abe & Lexie).

At Salem High...
Mimi ceremoniously announces that this is her last day of doing toilets at Salem High as she tosses her brush and rubber gloves in the trash can. She asks Chloe about her finals (they say that there is only one more day until graduation). Then they talk about getting Belle and Shawn back together. Meanwhile, in class, Philip and Cynthia are finishing their tests and talk about the upcoming Last Blast. She kisses him and he closes the door. As she sits down, he gives her a shoulder rub, hoping it will loosen up her lips as well. He talks about Jan, but she is interested in other things and starts kissing him. From the hallway, Chloe sees them (as she has flashbacks of the videotape) and looks as if she is having second thoughts about this plan. Philip stops her and says that they can celebrate after the dance...not here. He talks about how Jan ruined the dance last year and wonders aloud what she will do for an encore. She talks about how Jan has been manipulating both Shawn and Belle. He presses for more info as she says she has been conning both Shawn and Belle and laughs at how they have been believing her. Philip makes up an excuse about meeting with his dad and rushes off. In the hall, he catches up with Chloe and Mimi and fills them in, that Cynthia admitted that Jan had been up to something. Chloe and Mimi aren't sure, but he thinks they have enough info to go to Shawn.

The Christening
There is a replay of the Christening beginning, with Lexie watching, pleading with Rolf to stop it. He tells her that he did NOT poison the water, but when Father Jansen almost spills some of the water, she realizes that it is indeed poisoned. She screams "NNNOOOOO!!!!" and charges out of the confessional like a mad woman over to the font. (All of this is in slow-motion, capturing the startled reactions of many in the process). She slaps the goblet out of Father Jansen's hand, then turns over the Baptismal font. John and Roman restrain her demanding to know what is going on. (While all this is happening, Rolf slips away, naturally). Marlena, Kim and Colin rush to assistance as Lexie screams that the priest was trying to kill her baby and she had to stop him (all thinking she meant Jansen). Colin gives her an injection as she begins to calm down, John asks "stop WHO?" She whispers "Father". Hope frets that this will never be over. The ambulance comes and they now have Lexie on a stretcher and are wheeling her out. Abe encourages Bo and Hope to continue with the Christening as he plans on going with Lexie. John and Bo return to the sanctuary and tell everyone that at Abe's request, they will continue as planned. The ceremony restarts while in the vestibule, Colin and Marlena talk with Abe about committing Lexie. Brandon (who is out there as well) defends Lexie, saying they don't understand. Abe asks Marlena for her opinion and she recommends a full evaluation at the hospital before proceeding. Lexie struggles with the restraints and begins yelling "I want my baby" over and over as everyone in the church hears this and Zack begins crying. Abe looks as if he would crawl up under the carpets, if he could...poor guy. What a scene!

Later, at the Hospital...
Marlena is there with Abe (along with a nurse and another doctor) as Lexie begs to get out of there. Abe tries to calm her, but she keeps repeating that she was saving Isaac's life. She begs Abe to believe her as he kisses her on the cheek, telling her to get some rest. In the hallway, Abe and Marlena talk and he confides that it is worse than he ever thought. The doctor asks him to commit her, and he asks what else can I do? Marlena talks with him alone and says it is for the best. She promises that they will do what is best for her and treat her. Abe goes back inside to see her, but Lexie thinks they are going home, demanding her clothes. Abe tries to explain as she realizes what is going on and begins crying hysterically. Marlena comes in to comfort Abe. But it is killing Abe, as he turns his back on Lexie and walks out into the hallway. Lexie rushes to the door screaming for him, as he drops his head and walks away.

Later, at the Pub...
The Christening is over and all the Bradys and Hortons are gathered at the Brady Pub for a party. The mood is a bit somber as there are lots of little conversations going on. (I know I can't get them all here). PopShawn makes a toast where he talks about Abe and Lexie and encourages everyone to pray for them, as they are just like family as well. Bo thanks everyone for their love and support and toasts his 2 sons. Alice assures Hope that everything will be turn out alright. Colin arrives and gives an update on Lexie and says that Marlena will call later with more info. Jen introduces Colin to Melissa (who seems to be taken with him) and he makes a toast to Jen in Celtic. She has no clue what it means as Melissa offers to find out. But Jen stops her. John and Kim talk about Lexie as John worries that it isn't over yet. Shawn tries to talk to Belle, but she just walks away from him. Sami questions Colin about his weekend trip, but he basically tells her that it's none of her business. Sami reports back to Jack, who decides to dig deeper. Colin and Nicole talk about the weekend and she seems to get a bit turned on by him. Jack overhears Colin on the phone blessing someone out about botching a job. They begin to open Zack's gifts and there is one from Shawn with a football in it. LOL as Zack begins to yell "Ball...ball!" Jack questions Colin about his phone call, until Colin pulls out a silver cup where the jeweler had botched the inscription. He promises Bo and Hope to get it corrected. Sami talks with Brandon and he asks her what she and Jack are up to but she doesn't answer him. Melissa says her goodbyes as Mickey goes to take her to the airport (Maggie and Alice are waiting in the car). Jen tells her that she plans on coming to visit soon, because Abby wants to meet LeAnn Rimes. Melissa takes the opportunity to remind them all about the Country Music Fan Fair. Kim takes her cue and tells everyone she has to go as well. She tells Shawn that she is so proud of him today and offers him some sage advice concerning Belle. Shawn and Belle talk about Zack's gift as he thanks her for coming today. He talks about how love conquered all in the case of his parents. He asks why can't love be enough for them as well. He asks her bluntly if she still loves him...for he sure does love her. But their conversation is cut short when Jan calls. Brandon and Jen leave together with Sami and Jack following them, vowing to break them up. As Shawn goes to leave, Philip, Chloe (and I think Mimi) arrive at the pub, telling him that they need to talk. Over at DiMansion, Bart is telling Rolf that "da Boss" is going to kill him if he finds out he screwed up. Not to worry, though...Rolf assures him that he has another plan that WILL work this time. Bo and Hope worry about Abe as Zack chatters away (he keeps saying "all gone"). Bo tells Hope that when he looks at Zack all the pain and heartache goes away and reminds her that they had a miracle today. As Bo, Hope and Zack sit at their table in the pub surveying the gifts, someone is watching from outside (a man's hands) as he begins to pop his knuckles...the credits roll.

Episode: 9320
Directed by: Mary Madeiras
Tape Date: 5/13/02

Chloe gets good and bad news today, Jan and her mother reconcile just in time as Shawn comes out of the fog, and Rolf is busy in the lab again.

BAD NEWS AT THE LAB
Colin is called to the lab as the results of Chloe's latest blood work are in. He calls Craig in and shows him the results. Craig feels it must be a mistake and checks the slide himself. He realizes the results were correct. He leaves to go home and get Chloe and bring her back. Meanwhile, Nancy gets a registered letter at home for Chloe that's to be opened immediately.

AT THE PUB
A replay of Shawn getting the call from Jan and the other teens arrive wanting to talk to him. Philip rudely dismisses Belle. Shawn tries to leave, but they order him to sit and tell him what they found about Jan having long enough to shower and change clothes after Belle left. Shawn leaves.

Belle sits at the bar and Caroline comforts her. She rejoins Philip and Mimi after Shawn had left and Chloe got called home by Nancy. They talk about how Mimi's going to The Last Blast to serve refreshments at least, but Jan got out of it like she got out of toilet duty, because she's home recovering from losing the baby. She realizes how tacky that sounded and apologizes. Belle asks Mimi if she's trying to hurt her by bringing up Jan's name so often. Mimi apologizes for blurting out before thinking. Belle asks Philip if he's taking Chloe to the dance and feels bad herself for bringing it up. He tells her he asked someone else and can't get out of it and Belle gets a call from her mom to pick up some things from the store. She returns from her call and Philip says the last blast dance will make everything good with everyone again.

AT THE WESLEY'S
Chloe arrives home and Nancy hands her the envelope. Chloe opens it and is surprised as Nancy anxiously watches. It's from the high school and she's been named valedictorian of their class. Chloe tells her mother this is the happiest time in her life as she's got great friends, a pretty nice family and now chosen valedictorian. She also is thrilled about her second chance for an audition for the master class and hugs her mother for her and Craig's help in getting that for her. (the high school doesn't tell her til the afternoon before graduation that she's valedictorian? So much time to write a speech to give!) Nancy wants to cook risotto and veggies, Chloe's favorites, for dinner and asks if Chloe would rather eat out to celebrate. Chloe wants to stay home and Nancy's planning on sparkling cider too as Craig walks in. She tells him the good news and wants to rush upstairs to write her speech when Craig stops her and tells her the latest blood test results aren't good.

BACK AT THE PUB
The Brady's are chatting at the pub as Abe arrives. Zach's reaching for Abe (aww) and Abe hugs him and tells him he's lucky as he has two wonderful parents that are going to keep him safe. The knuckle cruncher in the bushes watches throughout throughout the whole show. After a short game of table basketball, Zach gets hustled up for another nap by Grandpa as Abe fills Bo and Hope in on Lexie.

At DiMansion
At DiMansion, Rolf finishes wrapping a "surprise" baby gift supposedly from Greta and they call a delivery service to deliver their own "Trojan horse". Caroline signs for them and plops it on the table in front of Bo and Hope (Abe and Roman). Of course they start talking about what will Stefano do now after the box is in front of them. More gifts are delivered and Caroline objects when B&H suggest taking them all home to open. They find the small gift delivered by the courier which has no name tag on it and although Roman suggests taking it to the cop shop to have it checked, Bo walks across the room by himself to open it. He finds a silver rattle that Hope comments Zach is a little too old for, but looks at it and sees the Phoenix rising on it (like in Lexie's necklace). Roman bags it to have the lab check it. The mood is darkened at the table, but Bo vows no one is taking their son away from them. Caroline hands them Roman's gift (uh, if TWO gifts were delivered by a courier wrapped in the same paper and one from Stefano, wouldn't you open the second one next? Even if a store delivered them, I can't see Stefano calling asking if they have a silver rattle with the phoenix rising on it, and have it delivered, haha. C'mon top cops, ha! ) Roman gave them an apparently healthy check towards Zach's college fund and a cute outfit that Caroline admits buying for Roman. Hope opens the other delivered box and it's an antique jack in the box. They find the card from Greta and figure it's ok. Zach comes back from his 10 minute nap and B&H leave to take him home for a longer one after such a busy day. Abe hugs Zach goodbye as B&H tell him to come by anytime and they love him. Caroline will deliver the gifts later. Caroline and Shawn sit down with Bo and Roman and wind the jack in the box. Roman tries to stop her as she's cranking the box, but a scary clown pops out (scared the $E*#* out of me, ha) and they all think it's great.

Rolf tells Bart the gift from Greta will eventually take care of the Bradys for good. He planted a microphone in the jack in the box and they can hear all that's being said at the table. The JITB has other uses as well Rolf tells Bart.

While waiting in the lab, Colin gets a call from someone suggesting an appealing idea. He finally agrees to meet the person and tells the lab tech he'll be back later to look at the slides.

AT THE BRADY'S
Jan paces the Brady's living room waiting for Shawn when her mother arrives. She tells Jan she heard about her miscarriage from Hope and is sorry. Jan realizes she is sincere and asks if she saw a shrink, ha! Her mother admits she decided to go back into therapy and apologizes for using Jan as her scapegoat for her anger about her failed marriage. Jan admits her behavior and grades were a disappointment to her mom as they both get choked up. Her mother asks for another chance. Shawn arrives home and outside remembers when Jan told him the miscarriage was Belle's fault and then what he just found out from his three friends. He walks in and hears Jan and her mom talking in the kitchen and her mom asks if she felt anything wrong before she fell down the stairs. Shawn walks in and EXPLODES with this news. He tells her about the proof she lied and tells her about the clothes change and shower. He demands the truth and her mother watches as Jan says Belle still got her upset. Shawn can't believe he believed her over Belle and blames himself for being so stupid as she slams out of the kitchen with Jan and her mother following. He turns around to look at Jan and yells about how he even lied for her and told everyone he was the father of her baby (as Bo and Hope walk in the door and hear this) as the credits roll.....

Episode #9321
Tape date 5/14/02
Directed by Phil Sogard***

An emotional time in Salem, as Shawn's parents are told the truth, the Blacks visit Brady where some unusual things are happening, & Chloe is told of her illness.

AT TITAN
At Titan, the elevator door opens, Colin strides out to knock on Nicole's door. She opens it, surprising him with her latest "office attire", very low cut halter dress. She pull him in, telling him she has something to show him (both are openly flirting), & as the door closes behind them, Victor is not too pleased with what he has seen. Nicole says she did some researching on the computer for their weekend away, & shows Colin a special Spa weekend, exclaiming about massages and mud baths. Colin is enjoying her innuendos, when Victor walks in. Nicole is angry, but Colin's beeper goes off, he leaves and Vic tells Nik Colin is a no good, but denies doing a background check, just that he has met many Colin Murphys in his day. He then tells her she has to go out of town on business this weekend, as the person who was going cannot make it. Nicole refuses, Victor gets tough about it, but Nik stands her ground telling him if it is so important, then he should go. He reminds her who is the boss, the makes a veiled threat, reminding her she can be brought down just like they did to Kate. He leaves, and Nicole tells herself that will never happen, while in Victor's office, he calls Nico and orders him to do a thorough background check on Dr. Colin Murphy, formerly of Dublin.

UP IN THE LOFT
Up in the loft, Brady is in the midst of working out with his hand weights, when he notices something on the counter. He picks it up, wondering where it came from. Tis a fortune cookie, which he opens to find the message, "YOUR ANGELS ARE NEAR". He puts it on his frig behind a frig magnet, and answers knocking at his door. John, Marlena & Belle arrive with takeout chicken. John notices the fortune, pulls it off the frig, asking Brady where it came from. Brady & Belle both laugh about it coming from a Chinese restaurant, but John says that Isabella used to get Chinese twice a week, and always put the fortunes up on the frig. Marlena says it must be serendipity. He comments Isabella always thought her angels were near, so every time she got that one it was special. Brady is surprised that it would come up that often. He tells them, that tho he had Chinese food, he had eaten all of it, and had just completely cleaned his counter, so he was surprised to see the cookie there.
They all talk about Belle and tomorrow's graduation, with Belle being salutatorian. She wants Brady there, and moans about still writing her speech. (well, at least she knew ahead of time, unlike Chloe) Brady teases her about her trying to decide how to wear her hair, Belle does into a down mood, & Marlena reminds Brady of how Shawn used to tease Belle about her hair. They all talk about moving on, John talks a bit about life with Isabella, and Brady tells Belle she will find a new love, and starts to mention John as an example. Then is embarrassed. But John says he was very lucky, cause he was able to find true love a second time and he has his wonderful family.(Brady is munching on the chicken....so good to see people actually eating on Days, finally). John says that after Isabella died, the loft seemed empty and loney, but now it seem comforting, somehow. Brady says, yes, like snow. Belle says she always liked summer, while Brady liked winter, and he pops with a memory of a day when he was 2 or so (amazing, he can remember something from age 2, but some folks do, I guess). John held him to the window to see large snowflakes coming down, explaining how each was different, and each a gift from his mother, that the snow came from heaven. The camera pans over to the snow globe Chloe had given him, and the snow begins to swirl. The Blacks leave, Brady turns out the lights, and sees the globe. He goes over, swearing he had put it upstairs, and as he watches the snow begins to swirl inside it, turning into a veritable blizzard. "Am I going crazy?", he murmurs.

AT THE WESLEY'S
At the Wesley's, Craig very gently breaks the news about Chloe's blood test results having changed a great deal. The ladies are in tears, as Craig tries to prepare them. At first he won't say the word, but finally says he suspects leukemia, and wants Chloe to go now for a bone marrow test. They all go to the hospital, Colin arrives, and the test is done while Nancy & Craig wait in the hall. Nancy is devastated, Craig is comforting, and tells her she must be strong for Chloe. When it is done, they go in, with Craig telling Chloe she needs rest now, as results will come in 24-48 hrs. But Chloe is adamant about going to her graduation and the Last Blast Dance. She says soon enough she may not have control, so while she still does, she wants to make her own decision about this.

AT THE BRADY HOUSE....
Bo & Hope arrive as Shawn is exploding at Jan about having lied to everyone about being the father of her baby. His parents want an explanation, Jan tries to wiggle out of it by claiming Shawn did not have to admit to fathering her baby, she would have taken care of it. Shawn tells her the time for lies is over, that he told her from the beginning that secrets would eventually get out. Bo takes Isaac upstairs, while Hope demands the truth. Jan finally admits she was raped, telling her mother that she would have probably blamed Jan for it, and how she wanted an abortion. Her mother is appalled that Jan felt she could not turn to her. Shawn tries to explain how all the stuff with JT got him making all the wrong decisions. Bo & Hope both talk about how the lies just made things worse. Jan tells the Bradys that Shawn got her to a doctor in Puerto Rico, and assures her anxious mother she is all right now.
Mrs. Spears makes a heartfelt plea to Jan. She blames herself for not being there for Jan, and for her attitude towards her, asking Jan to come home with her. Jan rejects her mother, saying she kicked her out of the house. But Mrs. Spears says the Bradys have made her realize just how wrong she has been, that they are such a good example of what a family should be, apologizes and again asks Jan to come home. Shawn says it would be for the best, Jan agrees. Mrs. Spears asks Hope to send Jan's things later and they leave. (FINALLY! Can I say how glad I am, lol)
After they leave, Shawn berates himself for all the mistakes he has made (you got that right,) and tells his parents he wants to get back with Belle, but there is just no way she would forgive him. Hope tells him to go tell Belle everything, while Bo says that if it is meant to be, it will be. He and Hope look at each other as he comments that it may take a while, and there will be hurdles. But true love is worth fighting for. Shawn says he loves Belle, and vows he is "gonna be with her again". And the credits roll.

THURSDAY, JUNE 6th***

Episode: 9322
Directed by: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: Various

It's graduation day at Salem High as all the teens, including ones from the island we haven't seen all year, gather in the gym. Sami and Jack work hard to learn where Jen and Brandon are going for the weekend (do WE really care, haha).

IN THE HOSPITAL CAFETERIA
Jack and Sami compare notes in the hospital cafeteria about Brandon and Jen both going away for the weekend. They spot Brandon and Jen grabbing a healthy breakfast in line and duck down. Jen and Brandon hold hands at a table and dream of a quiet weekend of sitting by the pool. They hope to continue fooling Jack about their plans and Brandon comes up with an idea how to mislead Jack...by telling him where they are going. Sami asks Jack how they're suppose to tail the lovebirds while he's stuck watching an 8 year old (guess she's not "stuck" watching Will, Lucas must have him already). They pretend to noisily bump into each other in line so Jen and Brandon see them just arriving. Brandon rushes off and Jen tells Jack she wants him to cover Salem High's graduation. She wants his story on her desk this afternoon. Jack leaves to see where Brandon is and finds him confirming his reservation on the hospital pay phone (cell doesn't work? OK..I know certain areas in hospital are off limits for cells, but are all areas? I'll post quizlet and if you know or work in a hospital and can tell us for a fact, please do so..thanks!) while Sami asks Jen when was the last time she's had sex.

Meanwhile, after Jack overhears Brandon confirming arrangements, he sees Brandon rip off a note pad page with the phone number on it and leaves (smirking, knowing Jack would be watching I'm sure). Jack rubs a pencil over the phone number impression, proud of his findings and rips it off the pad. Brandon returns to Jen's table and Jack waves Sami over, so she leaves. He tells her he found out where J&B are going and they high five. They watch Jen and Brandon leave, talking about how anxious they are to get away.

THE WESLEY'S
Nancy comes downstairs finding Chloe collapsed on the floor. She rushes over to check on her when Craig wakes Nancy up as she fell asleep on the couch in the living room. Chloe walks in dressed to kill in a red dress, hair up and heels for her graduation. She insists on going to her graduation. Nancy agrees with her and Chloe is touched how proud Nancy is of her. Chloe asks about the Last Blast and Craig said they'll see how she's doing for that and offers to drive her to school. She'd rather drive herself and leaves with her graduation gown. Later the lab calls Craig and tells him there's a delay in Chloe's lab results. After they're dressed and ready to head out the door with their tickets and camera, Nancy suggests he bring his doctor bag too. She looks at a picture of Chloe and starts crying about all the future things she's looked forward to seeing Chloe do. Craig gives her words of encouragement and grabs the cell phone on his way out the door, just in case.

IT'S GRADUATION DAY!!!!!
The rest of the grads are in the auditorium making ready for their ceremony as Phil and Mimi chat about Shawn when Belle walks up. Shawn staggers in and Jan follows in his wake (wearing a lavendar colored dress) as she apologizes to Shawn. He's not accepting it and angry at her. She tells him she did it for him as she loved him. She explains how he did so much for her and felt he must have loved her too to do all that. He looks her straight in the eyes and tells her he doesn't love her and loves Belle and it's time Belle knew the whole truth. (Susan is in the background walking around). Jan throws a fit and asks him not to do it today, let her get through the day without people tagging her a rape victim (how's she graduating after missing so much of her senior year?). She tells him that she and her mom are going to try and bond and they'll move to London where her mother has an apartment, right after graduation. He apparently agrees as Jan grabs Cynthia, who's feeling confident about Philip, and pulls her away to talk. Belle can tell Mimi and Philip are keeping a secret and gives up trying to find out what it is. She tells them she's leaving at the end of the month for Columbia as they have a summer program for Freshmen. Chloe joins them and asks to talk privately with Belle. Chloe asks Belle to read the end of her valedictorian speech, which Belle does and gives it a two thumbs up. Chloe crumbles it up saying it's all a lie about happy endings and Belle knows Chloe wants to tell her something. She figures it's about Philip and Chloe doesn't tell her otherwise.

Chloe's rejoins Philip and Mimi and is glad to hear about the good news about Belle and Shawn, but her mind is obviously on other things. Mimi goes and tells Kevin they have a mission. He has the clipboard with the graduation schedule and she wants it. He finally gives it to her after a couple kisses of persuasion.

19-21-47...
Philip tells Chloe it's his locker combination but things like that and who he sat next to in class will be things he'll have forgotten in a year. He takes her hand and tells her wherever she goes and whatever she does, know she made him a better person. She changed his world from a spoiled, self centered rich kid into something better. She's his first love and he hers and he'll be forever grateful for that. She watches with tears in her eyes. He gives her a light kiss and hug afterwards. He asks her to be his date to the last blast now that he doesn't need to be with Cynthia and Belle and Shawn are together. He tells her their future is waiting and they have so much to look forward to. He knows it'll be fantastic. Emotionally she tells him she has to go change and leaves.

Shawn arrives and admits to Philip and Mimi that he knew they were right about Jan and knows the whole truth now. They tell him Belle is the one who needs the truth and he agrees. He takes Belle into the hall (go somewhere private and talk for petes sake!) and tells her that Jan lied about everything and he knows she didn't have anything to do with the miscarriage. He also tells her about Jan going to London right after graduation and not coming back. Belle looks morose during the whole conversation and walks away. Shawn goes after her and asks her to say something and she erupts loudly, asking if she's suppose to just forgive him after he took Jan's word over hers and all that he put her through this past few months. (told ya you should have talked to her privately!) Now it's her turn to hold him responsible for all he's done to her. She reminds him of how he blamed her and Belle yells (as other students watch) of how he played her for a fool. They look around and notice everyone is watching as Belle runs out. Shawn tells everyone to shut up as they start gossiping. Mr. Woods tells everyone the time is finally here (for graduation..hopefully it's outside as there's not enough room for the class and guests in there, ha!) We find that Mimi changed the marching list so that Belle and Shawn walk together. Belle tries to change it, but can't. Shawn calmly looks into her eyes as the credits roll.......

FRIDAY, JUNE 7th***

Episode: 9323
Directed by: Roger Inman
Tape Date: 5/10/02

Summary:
This entire episode is devoted to graduation as the students bid farewell to Salem High in an emotional ceremony.

In the words of Philip Kiriakis..."Goodbye Salem High!"
(I know of a lot of others who feel the same way, Phil!)

The parents and guests begin to arrive for graduation. Marlena, John, Brady and Caprice (why is SHE there?) are some of the first to show up. Shawn tries to talk to Belle again, but she is non-responsive and drags Mimi off begging her to trade places with her. But Mimi is sitting next to Kevin and refuses. She tells Mimi that she can't forgive Shawn. Craig and Nancy arrive, with hugs and kisses for Chloe. She begs them not to say anything or let anyone know that she is sick. Brady comes by and congratulates her, but is interrupted by Philip. Brady makes some crack about going over to see Kate, who has just arrived (WHAT?...No Victor? Where is HE?...BTW, he never does show up). Jack and Sammi arrive as well (he is supposed to be covering the graduation). Jennifer enters as well (not sure how she got in), telling Jack to stick to his assignment. Marlena and Caprice are watching Belle and worry that she looks upset. Bo and Hope arrive, with Shawn complaining to them that Belle is still mad at him. They encourage him not to give up. There are lots of hugs, kisses and camera flashes going on as Belle finds her way to her family. She is given a bouquet of roses from Brady. Roman, Grampa Shawn and Caroline arrive with hugs as well. (They explain that Micky and Maggie are babysitting Zack, along with a cop posted outside their house). Doug and Julie are the next to make an appearance (camera flashing), with an envelope for Shawn...a little something for his college fund. Belle gets hugs from her mom and dad while she and Shawn watch each other from across the gym. The Lockharts arrive as well as there are more hugs for everyone. Mr. Woods announces for everyone to get in line.

The processional begins as Pomp and Circumstance blares over the loud speakers and the students begin to file into the gym (gee, looks like a LOT more students than parents on that tiny set). Chloe and Belle take their places on the podium. After the principal welcomes everyone, he announces Mr. Woods (voted most popular teacher 2 years in a row). Mr. Woods speaks briefly as we see various shots of students and he introduces the Salutatorian, Belle Black. She gives her speech and talks about various things including their Habitat for Humanity project (shot of the Lockharts) and their trip last year. She advises the junior class to savor each moment of their senior year, for it goes by so fast. As she finishes, she says they are ready to take on the world. Next, Mr. Woods introduces Chloe as the Valedictorian. Jason goes to yell "goul girl" but is popped by Susan, who is sitting next to him. Chloe gives a very good, heartfelt speech (kudos to whoever wrote that). She talks about when she first came there and had friends to stick by her. She talks about how she has grown over the past 2 years and about the unknown future that lies ahead of them. She talks about how some of them will more than likely never see each other again, unless at reunions. And how statistics show when they do meet again, some will be bald, some will be heavier, some famous and some infamous. She goes on to say that some of them may even leave this earth before their time (with a gasp from Nancy). As they move forward not knowing what lies ahead, they should seize the moment and make the most of their time. She begins to falter (Craig jumps up) but recovers. She talks about how hard it is for her to express herself and how she does it through music. With that, she announces the class song and when they are 80 years old and hear it on some oldie goldies station, to remember this moment. The music starts (I don't know this song, but it is really cute.) (NOTE: I now believe the song is entitled "Graduation" by Vitamin C. Thanks to Dawn for this information...she provided some of the lyrics and I believe this to be the song.)

As the song plays, we are treated to flashbacks from past scenes. LOTS of stuff here...I have just listed a few of the scenes. First the camera is on Belle as she has flashbacks of their Last Blasts...dancing with Shawn, Marlena's 50's birthday party, the snowman Shawn built for her, them telling each other 'I Love You', etc. and the tears begin to roll down her face. Shawn (now seated beside her) watches her and has his own set of flashbacks...his 16th birthday party; giving Alice her ruby back, Bo and Hope's wedding, playing with JT and more. Then the camera moves to Chloe, who looks at Brady, Craig, Nancy and then Philip. She has flashbacks of her first meeting with Nancy, her and Philip dancing in the rain, him removing her glasses, singing with Brady, playing basketball with Brady. Then it's Philip's turn as he remembers Chloe's big reveal (in the red dress) at the Last Blast, them kissing in the barn, and carving P&C Forever on the tree. The music ends with a class shot of everyone hugging on the boat to Puerto Rico.

After the song, Ms. Perez announces their key note speaker, a former Salem High graduate and now Editor in Chief of the Spectator, Jennifer Horton. (okay, NOW I see why she is there). She talks about how she struggled through high school and didn't get to participate in a 'cool' ceremony like this. She says instead, she had to go to summer school. She says that they are lucky to have this experience. Another excellent speech as she talks about their futures and encourages everyone to make the world a better place. She says that there is no greater joy than taking care of those around you. She says that everyone you touch becomes a part of your family and you have opportunities to change lives (as Jack beams, being proud of her). She asks for a moment of silence to honor those they love and couldn't be there. As she says this, Brady looks upward as Alice clasps the ruby necklace (no doubt thinking of Tom). Then Jen quotes Emmerson saying "what lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters...compared to what lies within us." Philip takes Chloe's hand as she smiles at him. Mr. Woods then announces the honor students...Susan Adamson, Isabella Black, Philip Kiriakis, Kevin Lambert and Chloe Lane. Then they begin to give out the diplomas as Philip gives Chloe a gift...it is the charm(?) of the tree, saying he had tried to give it to her before. He says that when he carved those words on that tree, he meant them forever. As the diplomas are given out, Shawn gets his (as the Brady/Horton clan goes wild...LOL as Hope is filming with the video camera and Bo has to remove the lens cap). Ms. Spears comes in (late) and slides in next to Hope just as Jan turns to see her and smiles. After they finish, Mr. Woods gives his final words and tells everyone to move their tassels from the right to the left. Belle just sits there, so Shawn reaches over and moves hers for her. Mr. Woods congratulates the class of 2002 as Philip stands up and yells "Goodbye Salem High!". In slo-motion everyone removes their caps and tosses them into the air...and the credits roll.
