Jennifer compromises her morals to save Jack's life Colin drags
Sami into his dastardly plot Brandon discovers who is
blackmailing Nicole Victor plans a wedding surprise for Nicole Bo
and Hope spend her birthday at the Salem Spa and Shawn becomes an
"accidental hero."
At The Brady House
Hope comes downstairs to find the living room filled with red
balloons as Bo pops up and wishes her a happy birthday. He had
gotten up early and had Caroline come by and pick up Zack and
decorated the house. He says that there are surprises there, but
she must find them, giving her a straight pin, telling her to
start popping. We later see them running around the room as she
is popping the balloons, looking for her present. In one of them
is a note with her gift: a day at the Salem Inn Spa and a suite
reserved for them for the night. As she hugs him she sees Larry's
face in one of the balloons and remembers him threatening to kill
Shawn. Her mother's instinct kicks in and she wants to know where
Shawn is and is worried about him.
At The Horton Cabin
Larry Welch is cleaning the place up, ready to move on as he
hears a noise outside and sees Shawn and Belle approaching. He
hides in a back room behind the rack of wood for the fireplace.
Shawn and Belle had come there for some time alone and glad that
there are no snooping parents or no Cassie trying to hug Shawn or
no Rex making goo-goo eyes at Belle, etc. It's cold in there and
they decide to build a fire. Shawn calls his dad to see if it
will be okay and for some instructions. When he calls, Hope gets
on the phone and asks how he is and after she is satisfied that
he is okay, he gets instructions from Bo about opening the flue
and building a fire. After they get off the phone, Hope is still
uneasy. Shawn goes to get the tool as Larry watches Belle. They
notice that there are ashes in the fireplace and that the flue is
already open, but figure that maybe Mickey and Maggie had been
there. They go to get wood and LOL as Shawn (the "accidental
hero") knocks a chunk of wood off the back of the woodpile,
which konks Larry on the head. (Sorry, but I was dying laughing
at the _expression on his face). After they leave with the wood,
we see a trickle of blood rolling down Larry's forehead and he
passes out. Shawn and Belle can't get the fire started (the
matches are damp) and decide to leave as Larry comes to, watching
them. As they are leaving, Shawn sees the Santa beard, but tosses
back down and they leave. After they are gone, Larry says that
they are lucky he didn't have to shoot them he is after the big
fish.
At The Salem Inn
We see a replay of Victor snooping through Nicole's stuff and
finding the check to Colin. He puts it back as Nicole comes out (clad
in a towel) and then he rushes out, telling her he has a meeting.
After he is gone, she realizes that he must have found it and
panics. Earlier, Jack was at dotCom calling around everywhere
trying to locate Jennifer. Brandon is there as well, looking for
Sami. He calls her on her cell (she is at the Salem Inn and has
just witnessed Jennifer and Colin in the hall). She tells him
where she is and that she had seen Jennifer earlier. When Brandon
tells Jack that Sami had seen Jenn at the Inn, he takes off there.
Jack arrives at the Salem Inn and runs into Sami in the lobby. He
asks about Jennifer, but Sami (not wanting to tell him the truth)
tells him that Jennifer has already left. To herself, she thinks
that SHE is NOT going to be the one to tell him that Jenn is two-timing
him. Jack has the front desk ring Colin's room, but there is no
answer. Bo and Hope arrive for their relaxing day and find a
frantic Jack. Hope goes on ahead as Bo volunteers to help Jack
out. He goes up to Colin's room to check it out. Earlier,
Jennifer had told Colin that she wanted him to make love to her (which
of course was witnessed by a shocked Sami). Once inside the room,
he is suspicious about her coming on so strong, thinking she is
up to something. She swears she isn't and he wants to hear her
say that she loves him, which she reluctantly does. We next see
them in bed as he is slobbering all over her, she is having
flashbacks of her Christmas with Jack and their kiss. To herself,
she says she loves Jack and would do anything to protect him (personally,
I think this is just a wee bit extreme). Afterward, (yes, they DO
it) she has her back to him and is sobbing. She swears to him
that she is okay as she tells him that she loves only him and
that Jack is NO THREAT to them. When there is a knock at the door
(it's Bo), Jennifer scurries to the bathroom and hides. When
Colin opens the door (in his robe, telling Bo that he was asleep
after working all night at the hospital) Bo invites himself in,
checking out the room. After a snippy exchange, Bo seems
satisfied that Jenn isn't there and leaves (as Colin slams the
door wishing him a Happy New Year). Jenn comes out (fully dressed
now) telling Colin she has to go pick up Abby. He wants her to
return to Ireland with him, but she makes up excuses her job her
family Abby in school, etc. He thinks it's because of Jack, but
she adamantly denies it. She asks him to stay in Salem a while
longer until she can work out the details. After she leaves,
Colin is more sure than ever that he needs to get rid of Jack. Bo
returns to the lobby, informing Jack that Colin was in the clear.
Colin makes a call to Sami (who is now at dotCom with Brandon and
Nicole) and demands that if she wants to keep Brandon from
finding out the truth to meet him NOW! Hope comes to get Bo for
their massages and as they leave the lobby, she sees Larry,
telling her that she can't get away from him, unnerving her. Jack
gets a call from an upset Jenn. She just keeps telling him that
she is so sorry so sorry as she begins to cry and can hardly talk.
She tries to explain that she was chasing down a story and he
wants to meet up with her, but she says she can't. As the camera
pans back, we see that she is around the corner watching him.
Jack is sure that Jennifer is in some kind of trouble.
Meanwhile, At DotCom
Brandon meets up with Nicole (who is visibly shaken). She tries
to explain it away as pre-wedding jitters, but Brandon keeps on
digging at her until she cracks, telling him that she has been
unfaithful to Victor and she thinks he knows. Brandon gives her
the "marrying Victor is a mistake" speech, and tries to
get her to just call off the wedding. But she won't and
eventually tells him about the tape and that someone (she won't
say who) is blackmailing her. Brandon keeps pressing her to tell
him who it is, but she won't, sure that he will go after him. She
tells him about how she suspects Victor saw the check and knows,
just as Sami walks up, asking what they are talking about. Nicole
gives her an "NYB" and they get into an argument.
Nicole breaks down crying as we see Victor on the phone with
someone (Nico?) telling them that he wants one more wedding
invitation delivered to Colin Murphy. It is at this time that
Sami gets the call from Colin and rushes off. Nicole decides that
she needs to go and face Victor and leaves. But after she is
gone, we find out that Brandon had lifted the check from her
briefcase (wow, he is GOOD I didn't even see him do it ;-) and he
sees the name on the check is none other than the good doctor,
Colin Murphy.
In The Alley
Sami arrives at her destination (as Colin complains that it took
her so long). She demands to know what he wants as he tells her
that he saw her spying on him and Jenn and wants her to take Jack
out to Lookout Point tomorrow night and tell him what she saw and
heard. He says that it is only fitting, since she is the biggest
blabbermouth (or something like that) in Salem. She refuses, but
he threatens to expose her to Brandon (about the DNA switch).
Sami says she will do her best, but doesn't understand why Colin
wants Jack to know. After she leaves, Colin imagines what it will
be like as he sees Sami telling Jack, then after she leaves, he
walks out and throws Jack over the cliff. He says that Jack will
find out that he has lost Jennifer and everyone will think he
took his own life fadeout on Colin's face.

It's New Years Eve morn in Salem as our Salemites prepare for the
night ahead.
DotCom
Belle and Shawn arrive looking forward to their uninterrupted
night at the Salem Inn. He shows Belle one of her surprises..
Sweet Temptation chocolate flavored body lotion, knowing how
much Belle loves chocolate. She decides to make him wait for his
surprises. Bo walks in as Shawn tosses something for their night
ahead (looked like a red condom) back into the bag. (so much for
sweet and innocent first time sounds like they both stocked up at
Victoria's Secret). Looking guilty, he tosses the bag over to
Belle as Bo asks what their plans are for NY Eve. When Belle gets
coffee, Shawn tells Bo about the suspicious stuff at the Horton
Cabin they saw. Bo promises to check it out and asks Shawn not to
say anything to Hope about it, then leaves. Belle returns, saying
that was almost as embarrassing as being caught on his parents
couch. Shawn assures her he has a DO NOT DISTURB sign for the
Salem Inn room. Roman gets dotCom take out (huge bag) to hold him
over for the day. He runs into Bo outside, who had the same idea.
Bo teases his brother about being off that night and suggests
Roman take Kate out and about her possible involvement with
Grant's murder. He and Hope will be at Victor's wedding. Bo wants
to give Colin enough rope to hang himself and hopes for Roman's
sake that Kate's not involved.
Kiriakis Mansion
Henderson is in hyper mode directing caterers where to put things.
Victor calls Niko about what he's found out. He tells him Colin
Murphy got a special invitation to the wedding and won't get away
with blackmailing Nicole. He himself will take care of his bride
after they're married. Kate walks in, not believing Victor's
going through with it, saying it's criminal, which stops the
caterers in their tracks. She tells him Philip called from boot
camp on Paris Island and she hopes he doesn't call again too soon
as she was tempted to tell him more about Nicole's "wedding
present" from his father. How can he live with himself if he
destroys his son's mother? Victor tells her she doesn't have
anything to worry about and dismisses her. Alone, he tells
himself Kate and Sami are the least of his worries. The year 2003
he'll make a year from hell for his blushing bride to be. Later
Roman arrives telling Victor he knows of his wedding present for
Nicole (Kate and Sami). If anything happens to the two of them,
Victor will be only seeing his bride behind bars on visiting days.
Victor orders him out just as Henderson announces Bo's arrival.
Bo walks in, surprised to see Roman there. Roman explains he was
there doing a last minute check on the security for that night
and leaves. Bo asks Victor why his brother was there, not
believing it. He tells him that Roman was worried someone might
try to kill him again, but he's not worried about it. He asks Bo
to be his best man at the wedding and Bo is honored and accepts.
They hug and Bo rushes off to get ready so he can return for
those last minute arrangements. Bo rushes out to run over to the
Horton Cabin to check on it. Victor calls Niko for a status
report and is anxious about the surprises he has in store for his
bride.
Brandon
returns home, damning Murphy for blackmailing his sister. Sami
comes out of the bedroom after falling asleep waiting up for him
(he gave her a key guess Will's with Lucas?). Nicole pounds on
the door demanding Brandon to give it back to her. Sami asks
what's going on. Nicole bluntly tells Sami today's her wedding
day and yelling, tells Sami not to screw with her. Sami decides
to leave and Brandon walks her to the door and kisses her goodbye.
Nicole insists on getting the check back from him and he promises
to take care of Murphy for her. She pleads with him to give it
back so she can return to the mansion. Victor had a champagne
supper for her the night before and isn't suspicious. Brandon
refuses to oblige. She tells him she's gotten out of worst
scrapes and he finally gives her back her check. She'll live with
the consequences after she's married. She rushes off with the
check saying she'll see him at the wedding. To himself, Brandon
promises to do whatever it takes to stop Colin before he cashes
the check. Brandon calls to see if Colin's in his room and is
told he is. He leaves to see Colin himself to deliver his message
and finds Sami at the door. He tells her he was on his way to
take care of something before the wedding as Sami makes herself
at home. He changes his mind and will honor his sister's wishes
as they kiss and fall to the couch.
Colin
arrives back to his hotel room after an emergency gallbladder
surgery and finds an invitation (BIG one) to the wedding. He
doesn't want to miss that side show. Welch calls him (while
playing around with his gun) and asks when he's going to take
care of Bo. He promises Colin that if Bo's still alive in the new
year, he'll wish he were dead. Colin wants to make sure no one
can pin the murder on him. Larry asks if he's going to try and
pin the murder on him, but Colin reminds him everyone thinks he's
already dead. Larry hangs up saying he'd contact him after Bo's
dead and to himself, warns Colin not to weasel out on him or he'd
pay (pointing his gun as if to shoot). Colin takes out his "BO"
bullet and tells his cousin he's going down tonight as it's
either him or me. Later Nicole arrives and shows Colin the check.
She wants the tape in return. He gives her the tape in his usual
snotty manner and she gives him the check. He asks if she wants a
quicky before the wedding being she more than paid for it. She
slaps him hard calling him a bastard and leaves. Colin tells
himself she'll be seeing more of him as she's his meal ticket to
the future with Jennifer. (five mil's not enough?)
DiMansion
Rex and Cassie thank Tony for their new sports cars for Christmas.
They promise not to drive w/o another adult with them. The 3 of
them are happy to be a family and he out of the blue, Tony says
Marlena. They talk about John and Marlena and their relationship
to them and Rex and Cassie promise to help reunite their
friendship. Later, Sami bursts into Tony's study (as usual) and
irate he hasn't returned her calls. He suggests she seduce Colin
and she reminds him Colin is her cousin. They talk about Colin's
feelings for Jennifer and how Colin's going to hurt Jack (in the
heart) with Jennifer. She tells him about seeing the "evil
Aussie" with Jennifer and knows he wants her to tell Jack
whatsup. She tells him about the midnite rendevous on lookout
point that Colin demanded. Tony has it figured out about making
it look like Jack committed suicide and Sami wants to go tell her
dad about it. Tony stops her in her tracks, saying once the Brady
Bunch is together at the police station, Colin will sing about
what Sami did (at the hospital). Panic strikes home as Tony
assures Sami he'll take care of Colin. She leaves, thanking him.
Tony decides he doesn't need any loose canons in his organization
and will take care of Colin.
Back To DotCom
As Belle and Shawn talk near the door about how the wedding will
be over and they'll have their night at the Salem Inn, Cassie and
Rex walk in and overhear. Cassie tells Belle she can't marry
Shawn that night. They correct them about Shawn's grandfather
getting married and are unable to attend Cassie and Rex's get
together as the reception will be late. Rex remembers hearing
about the Salem Inn and inquires oops. Outside, Roman and Kate
run into each other, both happy with their news. He busts with
pride as he tells her how he warned Victor off. Kate blasts him,
telling him he ruined everything. She tells him she also saw
Victor and feels everything is ok. She isn't as sure about Sami.
He asks her out for that night, promising to be her bodyguard.
She thanks him, thinking it would be more fun that sitting in a
closet with a baseball bat (add your own comment here) and agrees.
John & Marlena
arrive somewhere in their car. He doesn't have a choice
in what he's going to do and she assures him she's there for him.
Alone, John goes up to Daphne DiMera's gravemarker, kneels down
and says "Mother". He asks his mother's grave why she
gave him up and would he have loved his father? Tony walks up and
tells John he loved his mother and is visiting mother, just like
him (knowing already that John was his brother from the diary
Stefano left?) John asks how long Tony's known they're brothers
and Tony is evasive, but tells him not long. John assures Tony
they'll never be brothers and would be doing the world a favor if
he wiped out all the DiMera's. Marlena rushes up, asking what's
going on. Telling John they should leave, Tony comments to
Marlena how John threatened him another time about not trying to
take her away from him. Marlena can't believe that and she tells
Tony and John that could NEVER happen. Tony acts innocent and
John's about to punch him when Marlena pulls John away and back
to their car. Tony chuckles about "brotherly love".
John tries to get Marlena to leave, but she refuses and tells
John to trust her love for him. She asks him to take her home. He
leans over and kisses her and promises to kill Tony if he tries
to lay a hand on her. Tony tells his mother's headstone that
Father John gives the term "sibling rivalry" a new
meaning and how John inherited his father's paranoia and temper.
He's made a fatal mistake by going up against him. He could end
up in an early grave and then he'd have Marlena to himself as his
face turns to black and white and we see.
Linda
NOTE: There's no show on New Years Day. Depending on
when they air the feed, the next spoiler will be posted Tuesday
or Wednesday morning for the show that airs on Thursday. If it's
on New Years Day, it WILL be posted later in the day then usual.
