Episode #9431
Taped 10/15/02
Director - Herb Stein (again)
The Wesley's get the results from Nancy's amnio Bo
breaks the news to Shawn Cassie and Rex don't know who to trust
Billie finds herself in the hot seat. Thumbs up performances from
both Peter Reckell and Jason Cooke as they deal with the
aftermath of Hope's disappearance.
At The Hospital
Craig ponders the test results in the hallway as Collin happens
by asking if he wants him to break the news. (why?) They lead you
to think that there is a problem, but not so. He goes in and
through his tears, tells Nancy, Chloe and Brady the good news all
is fine Nancy's baby is completely healthy, a girl and a perfect
match for Chloe. The three of them hug as Brady watches. Chloe
wants to go and celebrate with Chocolate sundaes, but Craig tells
her and Brady to go on ahead as he and Nancy want a little alone
time. He slips Brady the picture of Sykes and tells him they
won't be needing him now. Nancy looks over the report, asking
Craig "what does this mean?" and "what does that
mean?" He notices a second page and becomes a bit concerned
by it. Nancy goes to call her parents as he calls Dr. Bader. She
comes by and assures him that all is okay. Nancy's blood pressure
was a bit elevated but they will keep an eye on that. In the
hallway, Brady and Chloe talk about how bright her future looks
now and they kiss. Philip sees them but says nothing. After they
leave, he runs into Nancy, who tells him the good news. He is
thrilled for Chloe, but sad that he has lost her. Later, Philip
goes down by the river to the three with "P&C 4EVER"
on it and falls to the ground crying for Chloe.
The Gemini Twins
Cassie and Rex are with Dr. Putnam (Rolf) but are distracted,
telling him that they are worried about their friend, Shawn. He
urges them to go and comfort him. They arrive at the Brady home
as Philip is leaving. (He stopped by to see how Shawn was doing.
While he was there, Shawn was on the phone with his dad. Bo tells
Shawn he is coming home to give him an update, worrying Shawn).
They find Rex and Cassie outside arguing with the cops (because
they have no id) but Belle vouches for them and the cops let them
in. Bart (who is outside with the limo) calls Rolf and informs
him that the twins arrived safely. Rex and Cassie tell Shawn how
happy they are that Zack was found, but Shawn goes off on a
tangent, blaming the DiMeras for everything. Rex and Cassie
defend their surrogate family, saying they are sure they were not
involved. He argues with them, saying that the DiMeras's one goal
in life is to torment the Bradys. He warns them to be careful
they could be next. The twins become confused and upset, not
knowing what to believe and leave in tears. Outside, Bart is
waiting for them, but Rex tells him that there is a change of
plans and refuse to leave with him (telling him they are NOT
going back to the mansion and are NOT riding in a DiMera car) and
rush off. Bart calls Rolf, telling him there is a problem. We
later see them running through the woods as they stop to rest.
Rex says they must be careful as they ponder whether to trust the
DiMeras. Confused, they go to see Dr. Putnam (Rolf), asking him
to help them find out who they are and about their genetic make
up. He says he may be able to help them as he reaches in his
drawer for the bracelets.
At the Loft
Brady and Chloe arrive. She has chocolate syrup on her blouse (saying
that Brady swerved the jeep causing it). She goes to clean up as
he promises to make them some hot chocolate. Isabella appears,
congratulating him on the good news. She warns him that their
journey is far from over. Chloe comes back (in one of his shirts)
and he has a gift for her a glass angel (like his mothers). He
tells her that it is a symbol of hope. They begin hugging and
then kiss (as his mother watches). She says that they must find
Chloe's birth father before it's too late as the snow in the
globe begins to swirl.
At The Cop Shop
Bo and Roman talk about how Lexie is not cooperating and Bo
threatens to choke the truth out of her. Cameron Reese overhears
this and they begin to argue. Bo storms off but Roman stops him
and calms him down, telling him that right now, Lexie has the law
on her side and he must stay away from her. He accuses Cameron of
being a money grubber. (Personally, I think she NEEDS the money,
for it seems that she has on that SAME pink suit she always wears.
LOL!) Bo heads home to give Shawn an update, even though he
doesn't want to. We get a replay of Hope seeing Billie with
Larry, wondering why she is doing this to her. Billie returns to
the station, to be greeted by Roman who yells at her and orders
her into Abe's office. He demands to know where she was and what
she was up to. She tries to cover, but he presses her, after
having gotten a different story from her partner. He gives her
the third degree and questions her about conveniently (and so
easily) finding the sweater. He asks why she is so determined to
stay in the middle of this investigation. She claims that she
only wants to help but Roman orders her off the case OR she will
be suspended. She pleads with him, but he tells her that she is
EXCUSED. (You go, Roman!) On her way out, she says that at least
they know who is responsible. But Roman asks "are you sure?"
He says that it is all too easy and that he thinks that someone
else is involved someone that they haven't even suspected. (Does
he suspect her?) Cue a worried look on Billie's face.
At The Brady House
Bo arrives home, asking Belle for some time alone with Shawn.
Shawn doesn't like the sound of that and fears the worst. Bo sits
him down and tells him everything, from the results on the
sweater to the note they found. Shawn is on the verge of going to
pieces as Belle watches (with tears flowing down her face) from
the top of the stairs. Shawn refuses to believe what he has just
heard, asking his dad if he believes she is dead. Bo says that
the evidence says yes, but his heart says no. Shawn says that
they must find her and to please let him help. Bo says the whole
family will find her together. They hear Zack crying for 'mommy'
on the baby monitor as Bo goes upstairs to get him. Belle comes
down to comfort Shawn as he says he KNOWS his mom is alive he can
FEEL it. Belle tells him to have faith, with that anything is
possible as they sit on the front porch. Inside, Bo shows Zack
Hope's picture, and as the tyke holds the picture, Bo tells him
that he is going to bring her home.
In Her Secret Cell
we get a replay of Hope seeing Billie with Larry. Confused, she
asks HOW Billie could do this to her as reality sinks in.
Outside, Billie says this has to end. Larry tells her to get back
to work and she leaves. After she is gone, he says that he
learned a long time ago that the only good cop is a DEAD cop.
Hope refuses to give up, determined to get out. Larry comes in,
telling her that she is officially "dead". He torments
her, telling her about them finding the letter and evidence and
how Lexie was arrested. She says that Bo won't believe it but
Larry says that soon, she will just be a memory a photo on a
shelf, gathering dust. She says he will never get away with it,
but he tells her that he already has and he is free and clear,
with Lexie being blamed for it all. He says it is time to make
travel plans and that they are going away to an island. He grabs
her, telling her it will be just like old times as she struggles
with him. He says that when he finishes with her, she will WISH
she were dead and the credits roll.

Episode #9432
Taped 10/31/02 (2 weeks after Monday's tape date)
Director - Herb Stein (again)
Lexie gets non-stop visitors in her cell, Shane and John chat as
Marlena joins them, Victor gives Kate some bad news and will
Shane solve the Hope kidnapping case?? Stay tuned.
Titan
Nicole's stands frustrated in Victor's office as he talks to Nico
about Hope. After he hangs us, she tries to explain her innocence
about what happened at the PHG to Victor. She wouldn't be doing
anything under his nose with his employee in his own restaurant
would she? She brings in the waiter to explain it himself. Toby
explains about Halloween night at The Cheatin' Heart and how this
short, more curvaceous blonde (then Nicole, who's not liking the
comparison) danced on the bar, saying she was Nicole Walker.
Nicole pushes Toby out and asks Victor if he's going to let her (Sami)
get away with it.
DiMansion
Tony summons Rolf and demands to know everything he knows about
Hope and Zack's kidnapping. Rolf denies any knowledge of it. Tony
tells him to forget any plans for the twins right away as he's
still trying to earn their trust. Clearly short tempered, Tony
doesn't want to talk about anything but Alexandra and is
determined to help her.
Basic Black
Shane commends John on financing his own ISA gear and asks who
knows about his being a spy. John tells him that Kate Roberts is
in charge of BB's day to day management , but does't know about
his being with the ISA. Shane asks if anyone does, even Marlena?
Marlena steps off the elevator, allegedly hearing this, but
really seeing Kate at the reception desk. John admits Marlena's
aware he's kept some of his ISA contacts and briefs Shane how
Marlena's helped them obtain the satellite map. Shane reminds him
that Roman is available for logistical support (so they're both
with the ISA). John wants to keep his involvement quiet for a
while and tells Shane about going to the island on the satellite
map. The Dimera's aren't aware of the ISA's involvement and he
wants to keep it that way. Marlena finds Kate at the reception
desk and learns the receptionist (Sharon) is off today. Kate
doesn't know who's in with John, but is calling it a day for
herself and bids Marlena goodnight. As John and Shane look at the
satellite maps inside John's office, she knocks and tries to open
the locked door. She is let in and after seeing Shane, hugs him
and asks if he's there because of Hope's kidnapping. John tells
her that Shane's there to help with the map, but Shane gets a
text message about Hope and that she may indeed be dead. John
reviews the clues so far and said a body would be more conclusive
if she were indeed dead. John figures Lexie was in jail and that
dumpster must have been dumped a couple of times before the
sweater was put there and she was in Salem when Hope was
kidnapped. John asks Marlena if she believes Lexie was involved.
She can't be sure. Shane leaves after telling Marlena he'll be
around and not leaving town. Marlena tells John she's going with
him to the island. He tells her no and promises to be home soon.
After he kisses her and leaves, she tells him she'll see him
sooner then he thinks.
Sami/Brandon/Kate
Sami advises Brandon that she got their schedules changed and
managed to change their getaway for another time and place. He
tells Sami he can't leave as Lexi needs him. Sami can't believe
that he's turning down an all expense weekend away with her
because of Lexie. Believe it Sami, as Brandon leaves to go see
Lexie. Kate arrives, wanting Sami's help in their next move
against Victor and Nicole. Sami refuses, saying she's going away
with Brandon. Kate will take care of everything herself, but
warns Sami not expect any rewards from her efforts. Brandon
visits Lexie, but she tells him that he and Tony are the only two
people that believe her and support her. She realizes Sami must
be upset thinking she kidnapped her Aunt and doesn't want anyone
else hurt over this. She just wants Brandon to be happy. Lexie
also knows he doesn't approve of Tony, but Lexie assures him that
Tony knows what he's doing. She tells him not to feel guilty and
to go away with Sami. She asks him to leave so she can get some
rest (no visiting hours there?). After leaving Lexie's cell,
Brandon calls Sami and tells her that he'll be right back. He
arrives at dotCom and tells her how Lexie told him to go away
with her. Kate runs into Roman outside of dotCom. She asks about
news about Hope and he asks for her help. He wonders if her
secret connection with Stefano might be helpful in this. He walks
away and Kate gets a call from Victor, ordering her to his office.
She refuses, saying it's one of the advantages of being divorced
from him. He insists. Nicole asks if he wants her to leave. He
tells her no, to stick around. He had planned this for her, but
now Kate will be the recipient. Kate arrives and Victor hands her
the final divorce papers for Lucas and Nicole. He tells her that
he's on to what happened at the Cheatin' Heart. Kate makes a
snide comment about Nicole being disappointed by being married to
Victor, but Nicole assures Kate her wedding day will be the
happiest of her life. They leave to celebrate her being free to
marry him now. Kate calls Sami, telling her Mayday (after her
talk with Victor), but Sami tells her that she's going away with
the man of her dreams and not to call back.
Meanwhile, At The Cop Shop
In the office, Roman glares at Billie as she tries to deny having
anything to do with Hope's kidnapping. Roman doesn't buy her
innocent routine as not being involved. He finally explains he
meant she's emotionally involved in the case, that's why she's
not on it. Celeste is let into Lexie's cell and asks for Hope's
whereabouts. Lexie argues how the two people she thought loved
her the most don't believe her, Abe and her mother. She orders
Celeste out of the cell and knows she has to depend on Tony to
get her out of this. Brandon had come and gone already and later
Tony arrives and is let into Lexie's cell. He finds her holding
her stomach and bending over when he arrives and he told her that
he had asked her to pretend being sick, but she is actually pale.
She starts trembling and she tells him she can't help it. Roman
lurks nearby watching. Later, Bilie calls Larry and warns him
that there's too much evidence being planted against Lexie and
Roman's suspicious of her being framed for the kidnapping/murder.
He thanks her for the info and agrees to meet her on the pier. In
the closing scene, as Billie waits for Larry on the pier, we see
Larry approaching, as well as Shane (he must remember everything
happens on the pier in Salem) as the credits roll.

Episode #9433
Tape date - various
Director - Phil Sogard
Brady has a surprise for Chloe, who gets a new "do", Bo
takes matters into his own hands, literally (an outstanding
performance by Peter Reckell) while Billie learns the truth, much
to her dismay.
At DotCom
Belle is inside, studying, as Chloe & Nancy arrive, after an
apparent shopping trip. They join her, and Belle finally learns
that good news, that Nancy is pregnant, with a baby girl, who is
a perfect bone marrow match for Chloe. Belle is thrilled,
promising to tell Shawn (who is taking Zack over to Doug &
Julie's place). Belle is surprised to hear Brady already knows,
and was at hospital for the amnio. Chloe has more good news, as
her hair is growing back, but isn't ready to lose the wig yet.
Belle shows her an article in Bella magazine, which makes Chloe
wonder if that would work for her. Belle & Nancy exchange
looks, indicating they have conspired together. Later, Nancy
& Belle (Chloe is gone) jabber about how well it worked, when
Craig arrives. Nancy excitedly tells him of shopping for baby
clothes and maternity outfits, they kiss, and Belle is happy that
things are going so well. Craig tells them both of Brady's plans
(see below), and tho Nancy is initially reluctant, she agrees it
will be a good thing.
Brady's Loft
Brady is playing with the Hollywood globe, as he talks on the
phone, finalizing plans. Craig arrives, telling Brady that they
must find Chloe's bio dad ASAP. Brady is perplexed, since the
baby is a perfect bone marrow match, but Craig says Nancy has
some unresolved issues with the man. He was impressed with how
Brady has tracked Sykes in the past, and even finding his picture
on the net. He showed this to that detective, who thinks the guy
may be out of the country, and even have had his looks altered. (that
guy couldn't find a paper bag if it was one the floor under his
feet lol) Brady doubts this, & tells Craig he spotted the guy
in Salem a few days ago. Brady then tells Craig of his plans for
Chloe, and Craig thinks it is a great idea, and that he will
continue the search for Sykes in Salem.
A knock at the door, and Chloe arrives, surprising both Craig
& Brady with her new look. She has lost the wig ..and tells
hows Belle & Nancy arranged a trip to the beauty shop for
hair extensions. (Chloe is now back with her own hair .no bangs
and parted on the side). Craig leaves, and Brady gives Chloe the
Hollwood globe. She doesn't understand, until he tells her he has
booked two lst class tickets, hotel in the hills (Yep, that Brady
sure does not work at that job at Basic Black, does he? - nice to
have so much free time - guess he already put in his hour for
this month, lol). He talks of seeing the sights, especially
Venice Beach (was there once .what a hoot!) and has concert
tickets, plus a few surprises. Chloe happily agrees to go.
Our Favorite Cop Shop
In Lexie's rather large jail cell (lol), Tony & Lexie
continue their plotting (Thought Roman was listening??) when Abe
arrives. Tony objects, but Lexie agrees to talk to him and Tony
leaves. Abe offers Lexie a deal, tell where Hope's body is, (hmmmm,
weren't they supposed to think it was cremated?) and Lexie will
get a life sentence instead of the death penalty. Lexie continues
to claim her innocence, and is in tears when Abe leaves.
Victor arrives to see Bo, who is in Abe's office. Bo shows Hope's
letter (encased in plastic now) to Vic, saying even if Lexie was
over Hope's shoulder as she wrote, Hope would have put some clues
in the letter, but he just cannot see them. (C'mon Bo, we have
found several .think, man, think! )Vic tells him to continue to
work on it. Then he tells Bo, that Nico came by, having recovered
some items from a pawn shop. Hope's watch, earrings, the locket
with pics of the boys, and her wedding ring. The pawn broker said
the man who brought them in claimed to have gotten the items from
a dead woman. Bo is devastated, and wants to go question the paun
shop owner immediately, but it is late, and shop is closed.
Victor tells Bo to face the fact that Hope is dead. Outside the
office, Tony comes in, talking to Roman. Bo & Vic come out,
and Bo lashes out at Tony about Lexie. He leaves, saying he has
to get some air. Victor & Tony go into Abe's office to talk,
with Vic reminding Tony of what happened the last time their
families clashed. Vic helped expose Lexie's whereabouts in her
plan to kidnap Zack, and the DiMera family put a hit out on him,
in which his fiance' was shot. Tony says that is preposterous to
think it was the DiMeras, and perhaps someone else is still
looking to "finish" the job on Victor, and he should
beware. Victor warns Tony that if his family is hurt in any
manor, he does not want to be around for Vic's justice. They go
back and forth with their threats. Lexie is alone in her cell,
when the door suddenly opens, and there is Bo. He pushes her
against a wall, grabbing her by the throat with one hand,
growling "what have you done with my wife". Lexie
screamed, and is sobbing that she knows nothing. An officer
arrives, trying to pull him away, but Bo slams him out of the
cell. The officer sounds an alarm, and Bo grabs Lexie once more
by the throat. Upstairs, Tony, Roman, Abe, etc hear the commotion
and rush out. Downstairs, the officer once more attempts to pull
Bo away, but gets a right jab to the jaw instead, and down he
goes. Roman, Abe, Tony come rushing in, along with a couple other
cops, and Bo is subdued and handcuffed. Lexie is hysterical, Tony
comforts her. (all exciting scenes here).
Everyone leaves, but Tony remains w/Lexie. He holds her, as he
assures her he is going to get her out of there. Lexie pleads
with him that it be tonite, and Tony replies that everything is
in place now, and asks if she is strong enough. Outside Abe's
office, both Abe & Roman uncuff Bo, & tell him to go into
Abe's office and cool off. He does so, first touching all the
jewelry items, especially the locket and wedding ring., then
looking at the letter once more, and we hear Hope's voice saying
the first line, By the time you read this I will be dead".
The anguish on his face is apparent. (Peter is sooooo good in
these scenes, Bravo) Outside Abe & Roman moan about how Bo's
rash deed has compromised their entire case.
On The Dock
Replay of Billie pacing back and forth as she awaits the arrival
of Larry. It is somewhat foggy, as we see Larry coming from one
side and Shane from another. (Why isn't Billie wearing her hat?
Thought all police officers had to when on duty, maybe not).
Billie hears a step behind her, starts to say "It's about
time you got here" when a hand covers her mouth and she is
dragged away a few feet. Tis Shane, telling her she was always
such a scrapper. Billie is glad to see him, but wonders "what
are you doing here". Shane wonders the same about her, but
she says she is on her ISA assignment. Shane replies she has no
ISA assignment! (I knew it, I knew it!) She wonders why no one
told her he was coming to the meeting. Shane is puzzled, and asks
her to tell him all about her "assignment". Larry is
watching them talk, but cannot hear them.
Billie explains that she was contacted by Martin Ross ..yes,
Shane knows him .and told to enroll at the police academy in New
York, get assigned to Salem, and keep an eye on Bo to evaluate
whether he would be good material for the ISA to add him to the
DiMera task force (Oh, puleeze, this is too lame for words, would
Billie really swallow that?). Shane says that Roman is already in
place there, and could do that, but Billie says, Ross evidently
thought Roman might be biased, (& Billie would NOT??). Shane
wonders the why of this, Billie claims not to know (and does not
say ONE WORD about Hope .Unreal). Shane pulls out his handy
little ISA gizmo, shows Billie a picture of Agent Martin Ross ..Billie
says that is not the person who contacted her ..and then pulls up
a picture of Ross when he was pulled from the river, in some sort
of cage had been dead for two years. (oooh, ugh!).
Larry is watching all of this, makes a noise, and both Shane
& Billie draw their guns (Billie has seemed to have forgotten
that Larry was coming there to meet her .hmmmm). Shane goes to
check, but two men, come walking down the dock, talking about how
the fishing is better on the other side, exchanging a few remarks
about fishing w/Shane, and they continue on. Larry scampers off.
Shane returns to Billie, and tells her she must come down to ISA
headquarters, look at their criminal files and see if she can ID
the person. She agrees, and they start to leave when a shot rings
out. Billie goes down, Shane pulls his gun, sees no one, then
realizes Billie has been hit. The camera closes in on Billie's
unconscious face .freeze frame ..and the credits roll. Barb

Episode #9434 ****
Tape date - various
Director - Roger Inman
John and Marlena head to the islands Tony and Lexie put some
strange plan into motion News of Billie's shooting travels
quickly. All this as Bo gathers the entire family together for
grim news. This is an emotionally charged show with an ending
that will give you with cold chills at least that's the effect it
had on me. The hair on my arms is still on end as I type this.
At The Police Station
Victor tells Roman about the jewelry that was recovered and urges
him to go and help Bo (as we hear him yelling NO! in Abe's office).
Abe and Roman go to him to try and comfort him as Abe gets an
emergency call from Shane about Billie's shooting. All three of
them rush over to the hospital. Meanwhile, down in Lexie's cell,
she and Tony are talking about how afraid she is of Bo and how
hard it won't be for her to pretend to be sick tonight. Even
though she fears for her life, she tells Tony she understands how
Bo feels. She says whoever kidnapped Hope and Isaac and framed
her will pay. Tony promises they will pay the ultimate price. He
tells Lexie to rest while she can as he gets a call from Rolf
with bad news that Shane is in town. He tells Lexie not to worry
about any of that right now that she has only one focus to get
out of there tonight. Later Abe walks up, asking to speak to his
wife privately. Tony whisper that he will wait for her outside.
Abe tells her that this is the last time he will talk to her does
she have anything to say? She says she guesses it is "goodbye"
so he leaves. Tony returns, telling her he has to leave (that it
would be best for him to be out of town while this goes down) and
he assures her that everything is in place. He says he won't rest
until he sees her again. After he leaves, she looks around then
falls to the floor. The guard calls upstairs that he has a
prisoner down then goes to her. Outside, Tony gets another call
from Rolf, who tells him that John and Marlena are on the move
and will be landing on an island near the Bahamas. Tony says that
suddenly has somewhere else to be.
Out At The Lake
Shawn and Belle are out there, with him saying he wanted to be
near the water to feel close to his mom. He says that he can't
feel her and fears that she is really gone. Belle feels helpless
but urges him to not give up hope. She wishes she knew how he
feels, but he tells her he hopes she NEVER has to go through this.
He really wants to be alone and asks her to leave. She doesn't
want to but eventually leaves him alone. She can't stay away and
eventually returns. In the meantime he has gotten a call from his
dad, asking him to go to the pub. He is glad Belle didn't leave
and asks her to go with him. He finds a sand dollar on the shore
and talks about how when he was a kid and they lived on the
ocean, he and his mom used to look for them. He tells her the
story of the doves that are inside. It suddenly occurs to him
that you don't find these near fresh water and Belle offers that
maybe he found it there for a reason. He breaks it open, but
there are no doves and he throws it into the water. He breaks
down as Belle holds him.
Over At Kate's Place
She is getting ready for "dinner for one" just as a
down-in-the-mouth Philip shows up. She is glad to see him and
offers half her sandwich. He tells her about Chloe finding a bone
marrow match but feels bad for not feeling happy for her and
about seeing her and Brady kiss. Kate tries to comfort him and he
talks about how she is always so concerned for her children. But
she says she is never there for them enough. Kate talks about
Billie's return and how troubled and distant she has been. Philip
assures her that they will be okay in time. Right on cue, there
is a knock at the door. It's Roman, telling them that Billie has
been shot, volunteering to take them that it is serious and he
will take them to the hospital.
At The Hospital
Shane carries Billie into the ER as Nurse Brenda and Dr. Craig
rush to her assistance (do these 2 EVER get a night off?) As
Billie lies in the bed with blood on her head, Brenda goes
through her wallet, seeing that she is an organ donor. Craig
seems really frustrated and wants a second opinion from neurology.
He tells Brenda that she has suffered a "massive
irreversible cerebral trauma" and fears that she may be
brain dead. (Sorry, but if she REALLY fell for that cock and bull
story that Larry Welch gave her IMO she already WAS brain dead
BEFORE getting shot. How STUPID was THAT?) At this point Roman,
Abe and Bo arrived with Roman volunteering to go and tell Kate.
Bo tells Shane and Abe that he is gathering his family at the pub
and leaves. Later, Kate and Philip arrive and Craig offers to go
in with them to see Billie. Roman offers to contact Austin and
Lucas (where is HE?) but she tells him to go on with Bo as she
and Philip go in.
On The Plane
John studies the pictures of the islands as he has flashbacks of
their anniversary (where he gave Marlena the charm bracelet with
the sun, moon and star on it). She walks up behind him, revealing
that she is on the plane with him. She fears that John will be
angry with her, but he grabs her and kisses her long and hard.
She jokes, saying she was afraid he would put a parachute on her
and throw her out (LOL!) But, he picks up the phone to tell the
pilot to turn the plane around. She stops him as he accuses her
of mutiny. She pleads her case (calling him Captain Bligh)
determined to stand by his side, much against his better
judgement. She talks about how both of them are missing years of
their life and thinks the answers may lie where they are headed.
She wants to help and he finally realizes that he can't keep her
in Salem. He tells the pilot to stay the course. As he is on the
phone, he notices she is acting strange (she is having one of her
"spells") and he catches her before she falls. She
assures him that she is okay, having not eaten. She thinks that
the trip will help her remember something that perhaps she is
blocking and causing these states. Shane calls (with John telling
him that Marlena is there) with the news of Hope. John gets off
the phone and tells Marlena that something has happened. Later,
he has told her and both are distraught. They hold onto each
other crying. He asks how does someone go on after that. As they
hold each other, he says thank God I have you sweet heart and
they kiss. John says "you never know you just never know.
The Gathering Of The Hortons/Bradys
Jack and Jennifer arrive at the pub as Jack tries to comfort her.
Jack gets a call from his police connection about the recovered
jewelry with Jennifer falling to pieces after he tells her.
Caroline (telling that Jen is upset) asks what's wrong, but they
don't say. Jack covers for Jen but as Caroline talks about Zack,
it's all Jennifer can do to hold it together. Jen gets the call
from Bo about the family meeting and she informs him that they
are already at the pub. Knowing that he is going to tell the
family what she and Jack already know, she loses it, falling into
Jack's arms. Doug and Julie rush in, asking Jen and Jack what is
going on, but again, they won't say. Victor arrives and Caroline
thanks him for all he is doing to help out and prays that Bo has
good news for them. popShawn thanks him as well for being there
for Bo. Mickey and Maggie are the next to arrive (with little
Zack in tow). Shawn and Belle are next to get there as Shawn
takes Zack and hugs him hard. When return to the scene, Alice is
now there as Shawn and Zack visit with her. She comments on how
Zack looks so much like Hope when she was little. Shawn asks
Alice if there was ever a time when she felt she couldn't handle
everything and couldn't go on. She tells him that she has seen it
all and is still there in her golden years and going strong. She
offers words of hope to him. The last of the paying customers
leave as popShawn hangs out the closed sign and everyone waits.
Jack gets a call about Billie being shot and Jennifer urges him
to go and check it out. He doesn't want to leave her, but she
convinces him she will be fine. Bo, Roman, Abe and Shane all
arrive. Caroline rushes to hug Shane but the joy of his presence
is short lived. As Roman dispatches the force to the docks, Bo
learns that the entire family is there, with the exceptions of
Sami (who is out of town with Brandon ugh) and Colin. Bo asks for
everyone's attention, thanking them for coming and saying that he
can only say this once. He tells them that he has bad news about
Hope. The camera pans the room, pausing the faces of all present
settling on the shocked and horrified face of the matriarch of
the family (as well as the HEART and SOUL of the show), Alice
Horton. (MAN, that got to me!! What a chilling shot!!!). Freeze
frame on her face as the credits roll.

Episode #9435 ****
Tape date - 10/17/02
Director - Herb Stein
Brady and Chloe fly away to Hollywood, Lexie's escape plan
continues and Hope leaves a clue. As usual, Peter Reckell's and
Jason Cook's performances shine again!
Jetting To Holllllllywood
Chloe wakes up in her first class seat on the jet to Hollywood (via
Burbank? ;-). Brady's seat is empty and as she asks the flight
attendant about him as he returns from the restroom after
changing into an all black outfit, slicked back hair and black
sunglasses. He falls into a movie producer persona as "Bradford
Frame", telling her he wants to know her dream/fantasy is as
he's going to make that dream come true. She confesses she always
wanted to make her operatic debut on a big stage. He suggests the
Dorothea Chandler Pavilion. They discuss what type of opera she
should sing and she suggests a love aria. He talks into a
recorder to book the pavilion and research love arias. She takes
off his glasses and asks what she can give or do for him. He
tells her just being with her is his dream. We return to see
Chloe telling Brady there is something she's wanted to tell him,
that she loves him. He tells her he loves her too and they kiss.
It's just a daydream though as she opens her eyes when he talks
to her, wondering what she was thinking about as she's blushing.
Before she can answer, the plane shakes and he puts his arm
around her asking if she's okay. She admits no, she's scared. The
plane keeps jumping around as even the trained flight attendant
runs to the cockpit with a panicked look on her face.
The Busyer Room At SU Hospital
Lexie's gurney is rushed in with Celeste and Salem's finest
running along side it. Celeste had just arrived at the jail when
Lexie was being wheeled out and pleads with Brenda to help her.
Brenda assures her Dr. Wesley will be right there. She also
assures the police that Dr. Wesley had been briefed about police
procedures (like he's never had a prisoner there before?) about
guarding the patient. A bald ER nurse whispers in Lexie's ear
that he's there to help her escape and she opens her eyes to see
him and nod. She starts to get up to leave, but he cues her and
she lies down again. It's Celeste. She wants to stay with Lexie (who
now is awake) but Brenda thinks not as Dr. Wesley (who's busy
with a cardiac emergency (where are Colin and the rest of the
staff? Do the head nurse and COS have to do EVERYTHING 24/7
there?) hasn't examined her yet. Lexie whispers for the guy to
get her out of there and we see Shane, Roman and Abe arrive in
the waiting area. Celeste stops them from going in to see Lexie,
insisting her daughter is sick from being in that jail. The
female officer rushes out saying Lexie's gone as they rush in and
see a black nurse unconscious on Lexie's ER bed as the cops in
charge look baffled. Abe orders all exits blocked. Roman tells
Abe about the one temp nurse who's missing. We see Lexie and two
male nurses in the stairway to the roof. Abe remembers his last
talk with Abe at their home the morning after they made love,
then their anniversary when she apologized for never telling him
that he had been a good father to their son. Celeste asks what's
going to happen when they find Lexie. She begs him to stop Lexie
from getting hurt. He tells her he can't do anything and reminds
her how she stopped him from getting to Lexie when they got there.
Meanwhile, we see Bo slip into the stairway at the hospital. Abe
talks to the nurse who was in Lexie's cubicle. She tells him
about how she was going to see Lexie, then everything went black.
Roman reports a piece of paneling was loose in the room going to
the stairway to the roof. Shane reports a helicopter flying under
the radar heading their way. Abe radios ahead they're all headed
for the roof. The female officer shows Celeste where the coffee
is (like she doesn't know?) Harold joins her with his press badge
on, asking about her daughter having had a year of thrills and
spills. Celeste shivers and tells him she had a premonition that
something bad is going to happen to her daughter.
Brady Pub
We join the family after Hope's immediate family have left. They
all marvel at Alice's strength. Caroline said Doug and Julie were
going to take her home and she credits Alice's faith for
sustaining her and her feeling close to Tom. She's glad Doug has
Julie to help him. Mickey and Maggie are going to the hospital to
check on Lucas (we don't see them or Billie today) and see how
Billie's doing. Jack walks into the pub and Caroline apologizes
for not having locked the door, saying the pub is closed..this is
just for family. He tells her he's not there for a pint, he came
to be with Jennifer (surprised me that Caroline said that). He
goes over and quietly asks Jen what happened while he was gone (ok,
he could have been a little more sensitive about it), when Shawn
jumps up and tells everyone he can't believe his mom is dead. Bo
tries unsuccessfully to comfort Shawn, but Abe arrives and tells
them Lexie was rushed to the hospital. Bo knows she's faking to
break out of jail and Roman figures he's right. Bo said they all
should get over there. Abe tells him he, Shane and Roman will,
but the Commissioner wasn't happy about Bo's defying the
restraining order and has put him on leave immediately. He tells
him if he even goes near Lexie he'll be arrested. Abe suggests
that Caroline keep Bo there. Shawn explodes that Abe should be
taken off the case too. Caroline tries to calm things down and
thanks Shane for coming to be with them and he's always part of
their family (and Jack isn't part of Jen's? that still bugs me).
Caroline tells Bo he's needed more there, his son needs him. Bo
puts his hand on Shawn's shoulder, saying he'd give his life to
bring his mother back to him. Shawn mentions how his mother
always commented on her and Bo's "connection" to each
other and Bo confirms that connection is still very much there.
Jack and Jen are both stunned how the Brady's all accepted Hope's
death so easily. She asks about Billie and he fills her in. He
asks how she's doing and promises to be there with her when she
tells Abby. Jen remembers her daughter (guess she's with Jack's
parents now?) and knows how much Abby loved Hope. Jen decides to
take a leave of absence from the paper to be with her family
right now. Jack offers to cover for her (I bet you newspaper
folks enjoy seeing the editor doing more reporter work then
editing). Jack goes to leave to check on Lexie's status, but Jen
stops him and asks him to stay with her for a while longer as she
leans into him. Bo and Shawn continue their talk as the group
gathers to listen. Bo tells Shawn he feels from Hope is a
spiritual one. Shawn apologizes, saying losing JT was the hardest
thing he'd ever have to do. Bo goes to check on Zack and 2
reporters arrive. A female from the Salem Gazette and the
slimeball one from the Salem Intruder. Caroline asks them to
leave, but they insist on answers. Shawn tells them his mother is
dead and the Dimera's killed her..go print that! Meanwhile, Bo
slips out the back door of the apartment. Jack tries to stop
Shawn, but Shawn wants to say what he has to say, how the
Dimera's have hurt their family. Jack steps back and none of the
family stop him either. He tears into the Intruder reporter about
his article on the baby switch and how he's so good at writing
that stuff that people just love to read. The Intruder reporter
turns off his microphone and stares as Jack tries to stop Shawn
again. Shawn tells them to write about how great his mom was and
how much she loved his dad. Her family was her world. Now close
to breaking down, he tells them how his mother was go great at
always bringing them together. He's lost his mom and the world
has lost Hope Brady, so they should tell their readers one thing.
Her husband and her sons will carry her in their hearts for the
rest of their lives. The reporters leave and Jen and Jack are
proud of what he said and how he shut up the reporters. Harold
calls and tells Jack about Lexie's escape. Jack tells Jen about
Lexie's escape when Caroline returns to say pop-Shawn and Zack
are asleep upstairs, but Bo's gone. Shawn knows he went to the
hospital to get Lexie.
Hope's Current Hideaway
Hope peers through the door to see Larry return. He walks in and
flashes his gun, saying he took care of a problem with one little
bullet to the brain. Hope is surprised at that statement. She
asks who he shot and evading the name, tells her she wasn't one
of her best friends, not to worry. He also said whoever it was is
still alive, but just clinging to life at the hospital. She
remembers seeing Billie with him, but doesn't say anything. He
enjoys playing and threatening her with the gun and tucks it in
his waistband while he removes his jacket and tosses it on the
floor. She looks on the floor and sees a bullet had fallen out of
his jacket. Larry is happy his framing Lexie looks like a done
deal and he tells Hope she'll be in her own prison for the rest
of her life. She ruined his political future by not marrying him
and he ended up in prison. He tells her to kiss her health and
beauty goodbye. She just watches him and pretends to faint as she
grabs the bullet while doing so. He is frustrated about her
getting sick on him and was always high maintenance. He just
leaves, saying he'll be back when she wakes up. As soon as he
goes, she jumps up and pushes her bed aside to scrape something
on the wall with the bullet. He returns to find her sitting on
the floor. He tells her he's taking her to some paradise that no
one will ever find them at. He leaves and she dashes back to her
message that has abbreviated form of LARY WELCH SAVE AWAY W/HOPE..
is the best I can gather from it.
Up On The Roof
Bo pushes the door open to the hospital roof and sees two Salem
officers out on the ground and Lexie with her two male nurses
standing there. He says GOTCHA. By the time Abe and the gang get
there, Bo stands up from an unconscious Lexie who's got bruises
on her neck. Abe calls for a doctor (good luck, they're hard to
find there), but Bo said a doctor's not needed as Lexie's dead.
Abe falls to his knees yelling No, No as the camera pans onto an
angry Bo breathing hard as the credits roll.
