Summary:
Interesting show as John prepares Marlena to go spying for him...Victor and Nicole discuss his plans for Kate and Sami...Billie almost gets caught...and Bo tries to go after Lexie.

Spy School...
At the penthouse, John and Marlena talk about his plan for her to get closer to the twins and ultimately, Tony. Marlena is determined to help in any way that she can...what does he want her to do? John tells her to arrange for the twins' therapy sessions to be at the mansion, which she has already done. After the sessions, he wants her to chit chat with Tony about the twins, getting him to trust her more and when the opportunity arises, to snoop around. John pulls out a case of gadgets and gizmos for her and gives her instruction on how to use them. He has earrings that are microphones, a lipstick that is a camera and a pen that doubles as a lock-picker. He shows them to her and gives instructions on how they work. (Cute scenes here). Finally he tells her that's all for today. She questions him as to how he has all those things and he only says that he has a friend in high places that helped him. (He even hints that Marlena knows this person. Is he referring to Shane?) He tells her to always use the tool of deception and to never let her guard down. As they kiss, he flips her over his back onto the sofa. Laughing, she says that he would do ANYTHING to get her on her back. The light mood changes as they begin to get amorous and kiss. Clearly worried about her, he says "You mean everything to me."

Over at DiMansion...
Lexie is still fingering the wallet and itinerary when the doorbell rings. It's Abe and she invites him on in. He questions her as to what she knows about the kidnapping. He says he needs to know if he can trust her. She swears that she knows nothing. She admits that she has lied in the past, but not this time. She only wants Isaac (Zack) safe and back in Salem as she breaks down crying. She wants to help with the investigation, but Abe is too sharp. He says he realizes that if she did NOT take them that she has all the resources at her fingertips and is already searching for them. He thinks she already knows something...why not tell him? She eyes her purse and considers telling him but doesn't, afraid that he won't believe that she is being framed. After he leaves, she wishes she could trust him. We see Bart in the den, singing a little scat when she barges in, grabbing him around the collar, demanding to know where Hope and Isaac are. He freaks out as Lexie comes down hard on him. He swears he knows nothing as she threatens him if she finds out he is lying. She asks if Rolf is involved and Bart claims he hasn't been around for a while. She screams at him to get out and after he leaves, she breaks down. Later, alone, Lexie wonders if Rolf is behind it all, setting her up. But if so, why? She has a flash and thinks maybe he isn't trying to set her up, but trying to let her know that he is behind it all. If so, though, she doesn't understand what he is trying to tell her with the clues. She is just too confused.

At the Java Café...
An angry Victor is on the phone with Nico, who is tracking down leads on Hope and Zack, but Nico keeps coming to dead ends. He says that if he finds out that Tony and Lexie are behind it, they have no idea what they are dealing with. He says the longer it goes on, the greater chance they may be dead. Nicole is there with him, flipping through a Bridal Registry and they talk about putting their wedding on hold until after her divorce and all this is cleared up. He talks about her wedding present (taking care of Kate and Sami) which prompts her to smile wickedly. She wants to know what he has planned and he finally caves and agrees to tell her. He talks about Kate and Sami's temporary alliance and says he has something more permanent in mind. Nicole likes what she hears as he says that he feels that Kate and Sami should enjoy each others' company for eternity. That is all we hear about his plan.

Down at the Cop Shop...
Bo catches Billie with a copy of Hope's itinerary and calls her on it. She claims that she is only trying to help, but Bo's not buying it and ends up accusing her of trying to get Hope out of his life and the possibility that she is involved in the kidnapping. Billie is highly offended as Roman walks up asking what's going on. Billie claims she is only trying to help but Bo is suspicious of her insistency in helping. Roman tells her to stick to her assignments and she stomps off. Roman asks Bo about suspecting Billie and he says it's just a feeling...he isn't sure of anything anymore. Roman suggests that they bring Billie in on the investigation, that way Bo could keep an eye on her. And if she is not involved, he knows she has good instincts and could be an asset. Bo is willing to give it a try. They discuss whether Lexie is involved as Roman tells Bo about Abe working on her. Abe returns, telling them that he came up empty with her. Abe says that he believes her when she says she knows nothing. This angers Bo who has some harsh words about her. Bo swears he will get a confession from her even if he has to go over there and shake it out of her and goes to leave. But Abe and Roman stop him with Abe reminding him that he is his commander. Abe says that right now, Lexie may be their only lead and for Bo not to scare her away. Abe thinks she may have some information and isn't even aware of it. Later in the show, Abe and Bo talk as Abe smoothes things over. He promises Bo that they WILL find Hope and Zack. Bo says he hopes that whoever did this will rot in hell.

Salem Place...
Lucas and Kate are strolling through as Lucas talks about the cool Halloween costume he bought for Will as they talk about Sami. Kate brings up Nicole as Lucas tells her to just let it go. He asks about her and Sami's partnership, and she explains that Sami is just the lesser of the 2 evils and how she plans on playing them against each other and both ending up miserable. She spots Billie moping around and asks her to join them. She can see that something is bothering Billie and wants to help. Billie smarts off to her about Roman which prompts Lucas to inquire about the situation with Roman. Billie plays the "poor me" card, bringing up Georgia. Kate begins to cry and goes on and on about her beloved children and how she missed so much time with them. Billie and Lucas gang up on her a bit as Kate defends her past actions. Kate says she can tell when something is wrong with her children and wants to help. Billie says she can handle her problems on her own and leaves. Lucas comments that Billie is a lot like Kate when it comes to secrets. Lucas gets a call that Sami and Will are back in town and Kate tells him not to tell Sami what she is up to. He says he won't because he doesn't even know himself. Kate spots Roman and shshsh's Lucas. She asks him about the Hope/Zack case, but he rushes off (to find Billie, I assume).

Yup, he runs into Billie and sort of apologizes for Bo, asking her to come back to the station. She claims to have something to do and leaves. She calls Larry and tells him that she almost got caught, but covered. He tells her to keep him informed about every lead that the police department gets.

Locked Away...
As Zack sleeps, Hope watches over him. She says that maybe when he wakes up, he will be free. Larry is watching them and Hope tries to get him to come in and talk to her. He comes in as she wants to make a proposal to him. She asks (no, PLEADS) with him to release Zack, explaining that he will only be a liability. But Larry says that Zack is the flesh and blood of the three people he hates most in life...Hope, Bo and Victor and assures her that there is a method to his madness. He says his plan is very well thought out and he knows what he is doing. He assures her that he will NOT release Zack. He says no more talk of deals and leaves Hope a nervous wreck.

The Bo/Hope Connection Returns...
Later, outside, Larry says "sweet dreams for tomorrow will be a nightmare...from which you may never wake." Inside, Hope watches over Zack, praying that Bo will find them and come to rescue them. In the police station, Bo is working and turns with a start...feeling her call for help. He calls her name, but then realizes no one is there. He says "I'm gong to find you Fancy Face...hang on...I WILL FIND YOU!". Freeze frame on Bo's face...as the credits roll.

Halloween costumes and decorations fill the show as the college group attends class and prepares for the party later that night. Kate and Sami reunite as Nicole, Lucas/Will and Brandon are there too. Colin cuts a break as Jack overhears something that will turn around to bite him.

HARTLEY HOUSE
Shawn talks to Bo on the cell and offers to come be with him, but is told just to stay at school. Belle's radiator starts rattling and he gets on the floor to fix it. We see the blue key on the floor under it.

Downstairs Cynthia and her groupies diss the twins and try to figure out how to get rid of them. We hear a noise and see red smoke (I thought the radiator exploded upstairs at first, haha) when we see Mimi in her I Dream of Jeannie Halloween costume, greeting everyone in the common room. She realizes she got her day wrong (ya think?). She walks in (no knocking again) into Belle's room embarrassed, asking for a change of clothes. Celeste assures her other students are in costume too, so she stays in hers too. Belle tells the twins she got them Salem U sweatshirts, but has to sew on an emblem before they get it. Cassie and Rex are anxious to start classes and Cassie takes Shawn's hand as they walk out. Mimi fiddles with the door knob (looks like she's locking it) and immediately someone in a black costume throws an anchor type hook threw the OPEN window (isn't it a bit nippy there to have the window open and Mimi running around in Jeannie outfit?) He uses his tracking device to find the blue key.

Cynthia and her accomplice walk into Belle's room (sure looked like Mimi locked it, but Cynthia said Mimi doesn't have a key and couldn't). They find something in a bag in Belle's closet as the intruder hides, unseen during their visit. He finds the blue key and unveils his face saying "Mission Accomplished"...it's Dr. Rolf! He's back and with a goatee and mustache. He announces the phoenix has risen.

SALEM U CAMPUS
We join Brady and Chloe in the corridors of Salem U. He brought her a book and can't accept her offer of coffee as he has to get to Basic Black. (He looks dashing in his black turtleneck and camel jacket. She's in black leather.) Philip crashes into them (small campus!) and leaves quickly. He took advantage of the crash to plant a mysterious note in her book. Brady leaves Mimi and Chloe and Mimi tells Chloe they need to rescue Belle and Shawn. Chloe sees that Cassie is all over Shawn, but disagrees that Rex and Cassie would hurt anyone and no one can break up Belle and Shawn.

Philip joins Belle, Shawn and the twins and does a mock monster growl causing Cassie to jump in Shawn's arms. Chloe agrees they need to intercede, but so it doesn't traumatize them. Chloe figures Philip can help them. Chloe and Mimi ask Philip to take Cassie to the party that night. Mimi's going to ask Rex to take her. Philip asks Chloe who she's going with. She says she's not even sure she's going. She leaves after Brady calls her cell and asks her to meet him at Java Café. (he went to a client's office nearby there he explains) She agrees, wanting to find out about the mystery in the note she was given anyway. Philip lurks and hides as he overhears this.

Shawn and Belle need to do something, so Philip volunteers to look out for the twins. Cynthia and friend join them and tell Rex and Cassie they have the sweatshirts Belle got them and Caprice finished them for Belle. Philip's cautious and said they should wait for Belle, but Mimi figures it would be a nice surprise for Belle and encourages them to wear them. The girls take the twins to put their shirts on and Philip takes off.

Shawn calls and find no progress has been made on his mom and brother yet. He angrily hits the wall in frustration, saying they had planned to celebrate their first Halloween together this year as a family!

SALEM PLACE
Java Café is in full Halloween mode as even the waitress is in full costume. Kate chats on the cell with someone about a business deal while Nicole warns Brandon to keep his distance from Sami.

Sami joins Kate, saying she knows what she's up to. Kate's been trying to get Eric back to Salem to work, the love of Nicole's life. Sami puts a halt to that, but says they have to come up with something as she's not going back to the slammer. Lucas walks up behind her with Will (appropriately dressed in devil gear), saying it's cool about his mom and the slammer, asking what she did. Sami said she was just kidding with his grandmother and the waitress takes him off to bob for apples. Sami isn't comfortable Will going alone, but Lucas tells him it'll be okay. Lucas tells Sami he processed all the papers for his divorce and is on Victor's side as he's the one who helped him get his son and leaves to watch Will bob for apples. Nicole joins them, gloating that she can marry Victor any day now. She teases them about the wedding gift Victor's giving her. Brandon spots Sami and pulls her away for a kiss fest in the bushes as Nicole and Kate watch. Nicole enjoys telling Kate that even Lucas won't be able to save her from her fate.

Brandon asks Sami if there's anything she wants to tell him. They talk about Hope and Zack's kidnapping and how it might affect Will when Nicole walks up, saying Will won the bobbing contest, cueing Sami to leave. Nicole makes her plea for him to dump Sami.

Kate leafs through Bella Magazine and on the cover sees a title about how a boyfriend found out his girlfriend was cheating. She shows it to Sami, saying they should pursue that ploy. Let Victor think Nicole's with another man.

Chloe arrives at Java Café, looking for Brady. Patti, the waitress gives her a present. Chloe opens it and says Oh, My God. Philip lurks in the background.

SALEM U HOSPITAL
At a table in the cafeteria, Jen reflects on the kiss she and Jack shared in her office. Jack brings her out of it by announcing he thinks he knows what happened to Hope. The authorities haven't found any kidnapping clues and assume it's a personal issue, confirming the Dimera theory. Jack is sure Colin is part of it. Jen doesn't agree, saying Colin told her he would quit being Tony's doctor. Maggie joins them and Jack disappears to return to work. He spots Colin on the payphone and points his tape recorder to record his end of the conversation. Colin's asks whoever he's talking to if they're ready to put their plan into motion.

Later he stops by and wishes Maggie and Jennifer a happy Halloween. Maggie picks up the vibes and asks Jen if she's still seeing Colin. Jack walks up behind, asking for an answer to that question himself. Maggie takes her cue and leaves. Jen also goes to leave. Jack plays the tape for Jen about she hears Colin saying he's putting his plan in place and Jack rationalizes Colin is trying to take down her family with the DiMera's. Colin joins them (doesn't hear the tape) and tells Jen that Caroline is planning a family night at the pub in support of Hope and Zack and needs to talk with her. Jen asks Jack to give her and Colin some privacy. He asks if something's bothering her and she tells him flat out..yes, he is. She asks if he's still working for Tony. Jack waits for a response too as Maggie walks in with two costumed actors..one looks like Professor Dumdledore (Harry Potter) and the other a red spotted dog. She's thrilled and said the children's ward will love it. Apparently Alice asked Colin to arrange something. Jack makes it known he's the one who taped his conversation and Jen didn't have any part in it. Jen's embarrassed and tries to apologize to Colin...but he tells her to figure out who she's going to trust, him or her ex. Maggie asks to have a moment alone with Jen and Jack leaves. Jen tells her aunt she is clueless how to fix this situation. (we can help you Jen! Dump Colin, marry Jack..case solved!)

BACK TO SALEM U
The group finally goes to their Bioethics Class. Belle wonders where Cassie and Rex are as Philip promised to watch them. She and Mimi hear giggles in the hall. Cynthia had painted a large "F" and "O" under the "U" in their Salem U sweatshirt and had each of them wear a headband with antennaes on them. Belle takes the headbands off and they all take their seats. The new professor walks in and signs his name on the board..Professor Chas. Putnam. He turns around and introduces himself, saying he's the new professor for the Bioethics/Genetics course for the rest of the semester. It's Dr. Rolf. He talks about Darwin's theory about the survival of the fittest as he looks and smiles at Cassie and Rex. A glowing light beams around them as the credits roll......

Professor Putnam cuffs Cassie and Rex in his office (sounds like the game Clue, ey?), Marlena and John complete a successful mission and Chloe goes on a Scavenger Hunt, but who orchestrated it? Find out below.

PROFESSOR PUTNAM
As Prof. Putnam (Dr. Rolf) lectures in his Bostonian accent, Rex and Cassie are anxious students as their arms pop up at any question. He calls on Shawn, whose hand isn't raised and mind is obviously elsewhere. Cynthia sits in the back row making high schoolish remarks about the aliens. Rolf assigns a paper due Friday on the topic, making them wish the old professor was back. After hearing Cynthia's remarks about the aliens, he comments on Rex and Cassie Doe (the name the court assigned them according to Cassie, until they know more about them) and assures any local "ignoramus'" in the classroom that Rex and Cassie are human beings. He praises them for all they've had to go through and encourages the rest of the students to welcome them. The twins thank him and class is dismissed. Shawn, Belle and Mimi get the twins to take off the sweatshirts as the two girls exchange snipes with Cynthia and friend. Putnam hopes he didn't embarrass Rex and Cassie and asks to speak with them alone. Belle asks why he wants to speak to them alone and Putnam assures her (after finding out why it's HER business as she identifies herself as their den mother), that he just wants to get to know them better. Now face to face, Belle tells him he looks familiar and asks if they know each other. Shawn picks up the Spectator and it's headline reads POLICE OFFICERS WIFE AND SON STILL MISSING. Putnam says he's often confused with Sean Connery (yeah, right, haha). The four teens agree to meet in front of the movie theatre later as they need to get their costumes for later. Belle can't shake the feeling that she's met Putnam before.

CHLOE'S SCAVENGER HUNT
Chloe finds a beautiful Mardi Gras type mask in the box the waitress gave her. Along with it was another note

Brady finds Philip lurking in the background and the two share words. He claims to be just walking through the mall and tells Brady he's doing his pit bull thing (LOL). He tells Brady that he and Belle have been friends since kindergarten and for Brady to back off as he's the one acting like a jealous idiot.

Meanwhile, Chloe leaves Ballistics with a beautiful decorated box. She pulls out a long black gown. Laughing, she holds the dress up to her and delighted, puts it back in the box to pull out another note reading:

A black lace dress for the end of the day
You'll need a torch to light your way
See the candle vendor

Her cellphone rings, it's Brady. He tells her he's held up at work and can't make it (he's really near by at the mall.) Leaving the box on the bench (tsk tsk), she takes her gown and mask and walks off as Philip solemnly watches.

The candle vendor recognizes Chloe from the description given her and gives her a candle holder with 3 tall candles in it and another note that reads:

The evening sky is ours to view
By the river I'll wait for you
Go to the pier

Chloe thinks she knows who's sending these to her and walks away. We see Brady is also watching her now. (Gee, if these gifts are from Philip, how much does that dotCom job pay, LOL)

DIMANSION
Outside, John and Marlena are set up in a van, appropriately marked "Pest Control". Marlena can't help laughing as John climbs in the side door, dressed in his pest control technician uniform. She tells him he missed his calling as he gives her a kiss. He tells her the kiss was to silence her as she must have her spy voice. She sobers up and tells him she's more then ready to do her job. They test out her earring microphone and he gives her a pep talk. After John gives her last minute instructions, he tells her to give him the word if she needs him. (I was waiting for a cue word only they would know). She leaves the van as he dons his headset.

Inside the mansion, Tony and Colin chat about the questions to Tony's past and how he's determined to get the answers from Marlena. Colin gives Tony a bottle containing a liquid that's colorless, tasteless, and odorless that he can give Marlena. He tells Tony that Marlena won't know what hit her and only a small amount is needed. The substance is a combination sedative to relax her and truth serum. If she has the information he needs, she'll tell him. Tony wants to find out if she remembers anything from her years on the island where his father kept her captive. Colin leaves.

Marlena arrives and she and Tony talk. He figures the twins got delayed at school. He pours her some water, slipping in some of the potion. She didn't notice it as she was busy eyeballing the room for shots from her lipstick cam. They sit on the couch and talk about his blank states that he goes into. She's concerned how he calls her name during those states and does want to help him. She confirms she doesn't like the unknown and the time she lost with her children. He picks up the pillow his father left him and she figures it was a taunt Stefano left reminding her of the time he was in control of her life. Marlena asks where the twins are at. He offers to call and find out and suggests she relax and puts the glass of water in front of her. He goes to another room to call. She softly tells John that Tony's gone. He tells her to try the desk and she picks the lock and opens the drawer. She finds the satellite pictures and finds the photos of the island. She grabs her lipstick cam and shoots away. She hears noise on the transmitter that John can't hear and comments on it. The earring falls into her glass of water and she hears a voice telling her to sleep. Tony returns finding her grabbing her ear. She tells him that Stefano is making her sleep and needs her for the future of the Dimeras. She comes out of it and looks for her earrings. Tony finds it in her water glass and she looks at it curiously. He tells her the twins didn't answer as John bursts in calling Doc, asking if everything's okay. Tony demands an apology and explanation from John. John covers saying he saw Marlena's car in the driveway and had been trying to call her all day. He had told her not to go to the mansion again and was worried about her. She says she left her cellphone at home and apologizes. Yawning, she wants to go home and outside tells John she scored and smiles. They rush off. In the van they talk about what happened to her. He's concerned (been there, done that John?). He brings up the picture from her lip cam on his computer in the van and he congratulates her on a good job! He asks if she's ok and she tells him she is, but rests her head on his shoulder after a kiss.

Inside Tony tells Colin he thinks Marlena went into a state of her own and what she said. He thought it suspicious how John showed up and said they have to get rid of him.

BACK TO SALEM PLACE
Shawn and Belle talk about costumes and a little boy and his mother are walking by. He's in a clown costume that Shawn recognizes as the one his mom got for Zack this year. He knows sitting home wouldn't help and needs to keep busy. She massages his shoulder and feels they're full of knots. She suggests they do a movie instead of the party, but he says no. Later he sees the little boy had wandered away from his mother. He squats down and tells him to stay close to his mom and hold her hand tonight. Belle got all of their costumes and is worried what happened to Cassie and Rex. They go to find them.

Rolf has essentially hypnotized the twins and told them if anyone humiliates them again, they're not to be passive about it. If it happens again, they're to punish whomever did it, swiftly and without mercy. They should not hesitate to show their full strength.

THE PIER
Chloe is now wearing the gown and carrying the candelabra on the pier (brrrrrr, Tony's got a fire going and still in a full suit inside the mansion, yet Chloe's in a lacy gown on the pier?). She calls out saying she knows it's Philip as he's the only one who could dream up such a thing. Out steps Brady.

PROFESSOR PUTNAM'S OFFICE
After Belle and Shawn have left for Salem Place, Cassie and Rex walk into Putnam's office, picking up objects. He tells them he's from Boston and they name off local spots and he's clueless about them. He explains he spent all his time in Cambridge, but Rex studies his diploma and deems it a forgery and asks if he's a fraud. Rolf comments to himself that their capabilities have grown 10 fold and asks them to sit. He pulls out their glowing green bracelets (must be new recharged ones) from his briefcase and while they're occupied with examining his diploma, slips them on their wrists. They're now in his control again and he's happy they can now make the Dimera dream come true. Standing like robots, he examined them and said they're both okay and weren't damaged by the crash. He tells them they have a mission and no one can interfere or they should bring them down! He orders them to forget their conversation and to never challenge his credentials before deactivating their bracelets. They nod in agreement. They're to report having a wonderful discussion with him about bioethics if asked. Clapping his hands and all resumes as before. On cue, Belle and Shawn arrive and Putnam thanks them for talking with him as the 4 teens leave. Rolf smiles and rubs his hands..saying..it's Halloween Salem, are you ready for a little treat?...as the credits roll....

Tiz Halloween in Salem. Brady and Chloe celebrate their 2 year anniversary on the pier as the Hartley House dorm has their own party. Larry does his own trick or treat action to Hope.

SALEM PLACE
Belle, with curly hair (looks cute) and dressed as a biker babe in short leather coat and tight pants finds Philip moping on a bench. She was shopping for more decorations and candles for the party (doesn't anyone shop Walmart or Target?) He tells her what happened and is proud of himself for not crashing in on Brady's and Chloe's pier party. He can't give up on Chloe yet and can't believe she's falling for Brady, but he saw her happy face as she collected her treasures. Belle pulls him off the bench and tells him to join their party.

IT'S PARTY TIME AT HARTLEY HOUSE
The gang arrives in their costumes. Shawn is in his James Dean outfit (looks like his everyday wear to me). Caprice gives him two bags, and he figures they must be Cassie and Rex's. He figures they must be upstairs changing..but there's a knock at the house door and a student answers it. A large growl is heard as Rex and Cassie enter bearing raised knife and axe as they stagger into the room swinging them. They ask if they won the scary contest, but Caprice tells them the party hasn't started yet. Caprice announces the party is started now AND it is a DRY dorm for the party. They had a reminder lately what binge drinking can do and if she finds any alcohol in the dorm, no more parties the rest of the year.

In walks Cynthia dressed as Marilyn Monroe with her two groupies, dressed as beauty pagent contestants. She promises to "be good", but goes after Shawn until Mimi stops her saying she caused enough problems today in Bioethics. Cynthia asks where the aliens are as a werewolf paw and long vampire nails land on her shoulders. (those twins are fast dressers!!!) Even Cynthia comments on that, LOL. Shawn pulls them off her as she thanks Jimmy Dean. Rex asks if he's the purveyor of breakfast products, LOL, but Mimi corrects him with Rebel without a Cause James Dean. Cynthia asks Shawn if he's alone tonight and who's the "heartbreaker" out with. On cue, Belle and Philip arrive. She clues Shawn in on what's happening with Philip, Chloe and Brady. He thanks Belle for being there for him and gives her a hug and kiss. Philip and Mimi join their dates, Rex and Cassie. Rex gives Mimi a corsage, but doesn't know where to pin it. Cassie tells Philip she's going to take her time getting to know him. Relieved, Philip agrees, but she tells him 5 minutes was too long and launches herself onto him for a big kiss. Outside Rolf (in costume) looks in and sees what's going on. He decides the twins need a stronger dose and whips out his radio controlled device with blinking lights. The twins freeze, apparently being programmed. Philip and Mimi try to talk to them, but they're zapped out, then return to normal. Cassie tells Philip that Shawn's a better kisser anyway (ouch) and she knows he's still hooked on that Chloe chick. The song from Ghostbusters starts playing as the 4some dance to it. Cynthia comments about the freaks should go back to where they came from and Cassie and Rex freeze and walk outside. Dr. Rolf tells them to do what they're programmed to do.

Inside the teens worry about where the twins went. They see Caprice chewing out Cynthia privately. The official scare contest is announced as starting. We see Cassie and Rex down in the basement. She flips the circuit breaker for the lights and the party room goes dark. Caprice isn't pleased, saying that's a safety issue and for whomever it is, to turn them back on. When it doesn't happen, she heads to check the circuit breaker. Belle pulls her bag of candles out and Cynthia rushes over and grabs a candle and matches. She lights it and sits by the window with the candle reflecting off the glass. Her groupies mock her being afraid of the dark and leave. The curtains catch fire and Shawn rushes over to pull Belle away. Rex rushes in with a fire extinguisher, but not in time for Marilyn's dress to catch fire. Cynthia flings her dress and is standing naked when the lights come on. As everyone stares, Caprice asks someone to give her something to cover up with. Cassie hisses and takes off one of her capes and gives it to her. Caprices thanks Cassie as outside Rolf is proud of them, saying they won't remember it afterward. Later, the fire department leaves as Caprice thanks them. She and Margo hope someday they'll have a party without a disaster. Belle and Shawn ask Cassie and Rex where they went and they can't remember.

THE PIER
A repeat of Chloe's arrival and embarrassment finding it's Brady, not Philip who arranged her surprise. He asks if she's disappointed, but she explains seeing Philip watching her at Salem Place as she found all her treasures and just figured it was him. Brady gives her a single red rose as he slips away upstairs for another surprise. Later we see her wearing a dark wig and a long lacy black veil he left for her. Brady calls down for her to uncover something, a boom box and to hit play. Spanish music plays as he leaps down the stairs in his Don Juan/Zorro outfit. He reminds her it was two years ago that night that they met on the pier. We see a brief flashback as he tells her then that he can't get too familiar with her and she asks if he changed his mind about that. He grabs her in a dance type of embrace. She calls him the masked man, but remembers that's The Lone Ranger. She calls him her hero and he asks her for a dance. The dance to Enrique Inglesius' HERO. Click here for the lyrics to the song. Afterward, she pulls off his mask and they kiss. He tells her this is turning into more then friendship. He starts to tell her his feelings and she stops him. She doesn't want him to love her when she might die. She doesn't want him to go through again what he did with his mother. She starts crying and rushes off.

PROFESSOR PUTNAM
Rolf emails someone about his progress with the twins. He tells whomever that he found their bracelets in government storage and they won't be missed. He says.."By the pricking of his thumbs, something wicked this way comes" and he figures Halloween is the perfect day to show their strengths.

COP SHOP
Bo continues his rant at Abe about Lexie. He threatens to go to the commissioner and have Abe removed from the case. Roman intercedes and tells them to cool down. Abe informs Bo he was just on his way to see Lexie and if she doesn't comply, will bring her in. After Abe leaves, Bo tells Roman he's giving Abe an hour. After that he'll go to the commissioner and go to see Lexie himself.

DIMANSION
Lexie decides to see Abe about the evidence being planted against her when Brandon arrives. She tells him that someone's trying to set her up and has to go to Abe. Brandon tells her that Abe's the one setting her up and he will get her through this. (can't believe Sami's giving Brandon so much rope now that she's back in town..on Halloween especially.) The doorbell rings and Illiana lets Abe in. Lexie tells him she was going to see him. She gives him Hope's wallet and itinerary, saying she doesn't know how they got in her car. She tells him she wants him to find Isaac. Abe is quiet and Brandon asks her what she expected. Abe tells her he believes her. She hugs him in gratitude. Abe leaves and Brandon warns Lexie that she'll be arrested. She gets a little dizzy. Abe returns to the cop shop with the evidence Lexie gave him in plastic bags, saying Lexie figures someone in her family has Zack.

ZACK
Early in the show, Larry injects a syringe of something into a box (juice?) saying it's time for Hope's trick or treat. At the end of the show, we see Hope waking up and she finds Zack is gone. We see Larry in a jester mask as he pushes Zack in his stroller. He loves Halloween as no one can recognize you. He takes off his mask before bending down to talk to Zack (wonder if it scared the little guy before with it) and tells Zack you can even get away with murder in costumes as the credits roll....

Summary:
Lots going on here (and I'm short on time)...Bo pressures Abe to arrest Lexie...Hope tries to escape...Larry dumps Zack, with Lexie holding the bag...Rolf returns to DiMansion.

At Hartley House...
After the party, Belle wonders whats up with Cassie and Rex, but Shawn has heard enough of it and can't think of anything but finding his mom and brother. Belle apologizes as he talks about missing Zack and sitting around and doing nothing. He rushes off to see what is going on with the investigation, promising Belle that he will call her later. Meanwhile, Cassie and Rex (now out of costume) go to visit Dr. Putnam (Rolf) wanting to know about themselves. (In his Kennedy-wanna-be accent) he claims he knows nothing but they insist, saying that he knows all about genetics and can help them. He assures them they will remember when the time is right. They tell him about their sessions with Dr. Marlena and this troubles him. After he rushes them off, he damns Marlena. He decides he must get back in the mansion to keep an eye on what is going on. Cassie and Rex return to Belle, and share their new-found optimism that they can uncover their pasts.

At the Cop Shop...
Abe and Bo discuss Hope, Zack and Lexie. Bo is sure that Lexie is the kidnapper and wants her arrested. Their words turn ugly and they argue. Shawn arrives as Bo tells him that they have proof that Lexie is involved but Abe won't do anything. This angers Shawn as well who storms off to the mansion, but Bo stops him, promising him that he will handle it. Bo goes back and pressures Abe to get a warrant. Abe assures him that they are watching her and if she makes any moves, they will follow and get her. But if they arrest her, it could ruin everything. He asks Bo to trust him, but Bo leaves.

Over at DiMansion...
Lexie is pacing around waiting for Abe's call as she has a dizzy spell. Tony comes in wanting to know what is going on. She starts to tell him, but decides not to and clams up. She claims that she wants to help, but he tells her that they should stay out of it and let the police handle it. She is on edge and tells him that she is going down to Salem Place to see the trick or treaters. After she leaves, Tony worries about her.

Later, Rolf arrives in the mansion cellar (via secret tunnel) surprising Bart in the secret room. Bart doesn't recognize him at first, but is thrilled that he is there and still alive. Tony walks in, demanding to know who he is and what is going on. Bart rattles on about Rolfsky, (LOL) as he refers to Rolf and Stefano as The Lone Ranger and Tonto...Batman and Robin, etc. Bart tells Tony that Rolf will probably be able to answer all his questions about the blue key, the twins, etc. Rolf calls Bart an "illiterate bumbling moron" and Tony dismisses Bart and demands that Rolf tell him the truth. Rolf plays dumb, but Tony threatens him.

In Her Prison...
Hope wakes up to find Zack missing. She panics and pounds on the door calling out for Zack and Larry. She tears the room apart, looking for a way out. She finds something on the crib and starts trying to pick the lock. But she hears Larry and retreats behind the door with what looks like part of the crib railing.

At Salem Place...
Halloween is still in full swing with kids everywhere trick or treating and running wild. Doug and Julie (who is looking fab) are there handing out flyers about Hope and Zack. Jennifer is there with Abby (dressed as a bride) who asks Jennifer about Dr. Murphy. Jennifer assures her that he is just a friend. Abby says that she can tell that her mommy doesn't love Dr. Murphy like her daddy. Jack is nearby and overhears this and joins them. Abby goes off with a friend to get more candy as Jack and Jennifer discuss (what else?) Colin Murphy. He promises to give Jennifer all the space she needs. Abby returns with a bag of candy, promising to save half of it for Zack when he gets back home. Larry is lurking around pushing Zack. Jack sees them, but doesn't recognize Zack who is in costume. As an officer offers to x-ray Zack's candy, he sees Doug and yells "Grandpa". Doug and Julie hear this and begin to frantically search but realize it must have been another child. Larry takes Zack and gets away from there as Doug and Julie hold each other. Larry is still lurking around (now WHY does he keep taking that mask off?) and spots Lexie standing alone and is thrilled. Shawn arrives and starts telling Doug and Julie that Bo has proof about Lexie, when he sees her and makes a bee-line to her. He attacks her, demanding to know where his mom and brother is. Doug, Julie and the cops have to break it up as Lexie rushes off. Larry sees her alone and says it's time to dump the kid and let the commanders wife take the fall...Trick or Treat Ms. Carver! She hears a voice calling "Mommy" and realizes it's Zack. She follows the voice down a dark alley and through a door as we see Larry with a tape recorder playing the cries. Once inside, the door locks and she can't get out. She hears rustling and finds Zack under box and cries as she holds him. She goes to leave and hears pounding on the door. Outside, we see that it is Bo and Abe and other cops. Bo breaks the door down, demanding she hand over his son and to know where Hope is.

Back in the Prison
Hope hides behind the door and when Larry enters, she hits him with her weapon. She takes him down on the bed, choking him, demanding to know where her son is. After they struggle, he slams her against the wall. As she slides down the wall, you can see a blood spot behind where her head was. She collapses on the bed (out cold)...as the credits roll.
