Show #9136 - * (and it gets
ONE star ONLY because Melissa Reeves (Jen) is on! That is this
episode's ONLY saving grace, IMO)
Tape Date: 8/13/01
Director: Phil Sogard
As I watched this episode I asked myself one question...WHY DO I
STILL WATCH??? If you enjoy this, good for you. But for me, I
have been more entertained by the tests done by the Emergency
Broadcast System! JMO.
At Salem Place
Jen and Hope are shopping and Jen has bought a whole box of
Jack's favorite pastries. Hope is sure that Jen still has
feelings for Jack and gives her a hard time about it (jokingly,
of course). Hope tries to get her to admit that she wants Jack
back. Jen finally admits that she is thinking of working on their
relationship.
Jack and Greta are at the Java Café, continuing with the gay
schtick. (I have to admit, as silly as he is at times, Matt does
a good job with this). Greta goes on and on about his being gay
and to himself, Jack thinks she is now obsessed with it and that
she may even write a book on the subject. LOL. She says that she
should have realized it long ago and tells him that he even
reminds him of the OTHER Jack, the one on Will and Grace. (LOL!)
Jen spots them eating cream puffs and gets mad and storms off
with Hope following. Greta talks to Jack about he isn't very
manly, say like Austin. For instance, Austin never shaves and
always has stubble, never gets a haircut until weeks AFTER he
needed one, his clothes never match, etc. (LOL, nice description
of Austin, huh?) She tells Jack that instead, he has flair. Greta
says that now she understands how Grace feels about Will. Jen,
who didn't go far enough (she is still watching the duo) tells
Hope that Greta wants Jack, even told her so. Hope accuses her of
being jealous and over dramatic and jokes with her and gets her
to smile. But Jen is determined not to show her jealousy and to
fight fire with fire. She decides to ask Brandon Walker to a
movie this weekend. By this time, Jack has spotted them watching
and really puts on a show. He takes Greta's hand and kisses it as
Jen's jaw drops. He tells Greta that they need to practice for
Vegas and gets her to sit on his lap and act sexy. That does it
as Jen has had enough and really storms off this time. Jack
thinks they will be back together before you know it.
At Titan
Victor has made arrangements with the pilot to go to Puerto Rico.
Brady suspects there is more to the story than Victor or Nicole
are telling. He thinks that Nicole's dad is dangerous and poses a
threat to the teens. He and Chloe demand to go along with them.
Victor gives in and tells them to be ready to go in an hour. (This
scene must have been cut from yesterday's show. This group is
only shown for once short scene and it's mid-way through the show).
Fantasy Island (Literally)
Prepare yourself, this is one of the most stupid things I have
ever seen. It is a dream/fantasy sequence that takes up over 75%
of the show. (Personally, I was more entertained with the color
bar/test pattern that aired right before the show feed.) Shawn
disappears as Belle and Philip look for him. They find him in a
hole, hanging on for dear life. He falls and they are both upset,
until they hear him laughing. The hole is a secret entrance with
steps inside. They decide it's too dark, so they will wait til
morning. (I guess NO ONE at camp will be looking for them, huh?)
Belle is really mad at him but he promises to hold her until she
falls asleep. She tells them about some story Mimi was telling
her about the islands and some girl with magic powers and a
goddess in a gold bathing suit. She chatters on and on about this
story and how cool it would be to have magic powers (as Paul is
lurking/watching/listening to them the whole time. He says for
them to sleep tight, tomorrow will be the worst and last day of
their lives). After she falls asleep, she begins to dream.
Philip is on the beach (BTW, these scenes are filmed on location,
on a REAL beach) missing Chloe. Belle joins him and gives him a
pep talk. They spot Shawn in the ocean surfing and rush to him.
As beach music plays, he and Belle run toward each other (in slo-motion,
of course). They kiss and she uses her magic powers to whip up
breakfast for them. He thanks her and she calls him "Darrin"
(as in Bewitched). See, I told you it is dumb! He wants to tell
her he loves her, but says Mimi won't let him. Belle decides to
bring Chloe there for Philip, so she tells them that she is going
to do a "Lynda" (as in Carter, as in Wonder Woman) and
begins to spin on the beach. They look up in the sky as Shawn and
Philip say "It's a bird, it's a plane" Belle protests
because that show was in the 40's and Nick at Nite doesn't go
back THAT far. Chloe appears in a gold bathing suit (she's the
goddess) and begins to run down the beach to Philip in slow-motion,
with various body parts going in all directions. When she gets
there, she and Belle begin with girl talk and walk off hand in
hand, with Philip and Shawn following. In the fantasy, Chloe
tells Philip that she loves him and he is ecstatic. The song
"Do You Believe in Magic?" begins to play as all of
them frolic in the surf. A mermaid (Mimi-Mermaid) shows up in a
shell-shaped boat on shore with something to say. She tells Belle
that Shawn isn't the boy for her and Mer-Mimi (as she calls
herself) decides that she wants Philip. Chloe protests and Mer-Mimi
tells her that she messed up her hair and it's now payback time.
They get in a scuffle and Mer-mimi pulls off Chloe's hair,
leaving her completely bald and screaming. Mer-Mimi puts on the
hair and says that SHE is now the diva of Salem High. Belle yells
"Look" and as they all look down the beach, we see
Brady headed their way. Okay, for the ladies, (if you are into
Brady) he is running towards them in slwo-mo as well. He gets to
them and tells them that he has come to warn them, they are in
danger. Belle says the word "danger" in her sleep. Paul
hears her and says "That's right, baby, the danger starts
tomorrow. Where it ends, God only knows."
