Show #9116 - **
Tape Date: 7/16/01
Director: Randy Robbins
Nothing earth-shattering going on...John and Hope argue...Susan
puts Jan in her place...Belle shares her feelings with Mimi...Chloe
shares her past with Brady.
Chloe and Brady are still at the school as Brady tells her he
is going to help her. She tells him to SHOW her. He tries a
little magic on her, literally. He caresses her cheek, then pops
out a quarter. She wants to know how he did that and they goof
around a bit. They find a teddy bear and she talks about when she
was little and wanted stuffed animals and her adoptive mother
wouldn't buy her one. He asks her about her childhood and she
clams up. He gets her to talk about it even though it makes her
uneasy. She tells how they loved her, especially her father and
how she became "daddy's little girl". Her mom resented
her and eventually she got to spend less and less time with him.
She talks about the night they died in the car accident and how
she didn't even get to hug her father goodbye. As she cries,
Brady offers her a hanky. She tells him about when they were
leaving, her father looked her way and mouthed "I Love You"
and that was the last she saw of them. Brady tells her that from
the first time he saw her, he KNEW that they were connected in
some way.
On the Island
The kids have collected food on their hike, bananas, coconuts,
etc. Philip, Shawn and Belle want to go swimming before dinner (and
talk about their treasure hunt) and get permission, so they
scurry off as Paul lurks, listening and watching. Susan, is
making some kind of mixture as Jan harasses her about her weight.
Susan stands up for herself and puts Jan in her place and tells
her if she doesn't shut up, she won't only be cleaning toilets,
she'll be swimming in one! (Has that girl grown a backbone or
what?) They get into it as Jason calms Jan down. Ms. Perez
overhears them and warns Jan that she had better behave, because
she (Ms. Perez) is supposed to make a report to the judge about
her & Mimi's behavior on the island. Mimi quickly points out
that SHE isn't doing ANYTHING and the teacher acknowledges that.
Ms. Perez forces Jan to apologize to Susan. Susan is making some
kind of paste (as a face mask) for Penelope as Jan makes fun of
them. The two girls get into it again as Jason has to drag Jan
away. She vows revenge on that "bitch". As Susan
applies the mask and explains how it will help her skin, all the
other girls gather around asking questions. All are quite
impressed. Alone, Jan sulks and is approached by Paul. He starts
questioning her and she explains about the website, etc. He can't
believe she is in high school and she tells him that she is 17.
He reminds her that in a year, she'll be legal. (geez, he makes
my skin crawl). He starts talking about the modeling thing again
and leads her to believe that he is rich. She tells him that
she'll think about it and get back to him. (I smell trouble ahead).
As Susan shares with the girls about her plans, Kevin walks up
and asks what is going on. She explains and he is impressed as
well.
Shawn, Belle & Philip to go swimming (BTW, just HOW MANY
bikinis did Belle bring on this trip? She has on another new one
today). They talk about Paul (Belle is creeped out byhim) but
Shawn says he is just telling them stuff to scare them. They all
jump in and clown around in the water as Belle spots Mimi. She
yells for her to join them and she reluctantly strips down and
does. The guys decided to swim out a bit further, then the girls
join them. Belle is a little uncomfortable with the way that
Shawn is behaving, so she and Mimi swim back to shore. Philip
gives Shawn a hard time about Belle, as Belle shares with Mimi
about the kiss (Mimi of course wants, DETAILS). They both squeal
with delight as Belle tells the story. She explains that she and
Shawn have known each other their whole lives and now things are
changing and it makes her a little uncomfortable. Belle doesn't
tell her much, saying that some of it she wants to keep private.
The guys swim back and they decide to go to lunch. Paul comes by
and harasses them, which frightens both Belle and Mimi. He tells
the guys that after lunch, they go out to the reef to look for
the clue, but the girls aren't coming.
Lexie & Hope are still having their heated discussion as
Lexie informs Hope that John told her not to tell Hope she knows
the truth. John just happens to walk up, so Lexie confronts him
and he admits she is telling the truth. Hope apologizes to Lexie
for her comments. John takes JT and Lexie comments that they look
like a family. This upsets Hope who informs her that Bo is JT's
father, period. Hope tells John that Lexie is going to help her
find out about her past and John objects to that plan as he damns
Stefano. Lexie (of course) defends her father and points out that
maybe he CAN help. John warns her to keep her nose out of it.
Hope tells Lexie that she can't understand what is wrong with
John and she apologizes to her. John tells Lexie he wants to talk
privately with Hope, so Lexie excuses herself. John then proceeds
to rail out Hope for going to Lexie for help. He says that she
can't be trusted and is controlled by Stefano. Hope swears that
Lexie is her friend and only wants to help. Alone, Lexie tells
herself that her father was right about John, she must watch her
step with him. She needs to talk to Stefano, she thinks it's time
for him to come home. John gets angry and raises his voice
warning Hope not to talk to Lexie about this anymore. Hope gets
really upset and John warns her that if she continues to push the
issue, it could destroy both of them, and the credits roll.

Show #9117 - **
Tape Date: 7/17/01
Director: Randy Robbins
More at Salem Place and the island as Kate has a plan,
Shawn dives for the clue and Bo learns Hope is seeking her past.
Salem Inn
Kate returns to her room at the Salem Inn, donned in a nice white
pants outfit. She morosely looks at one of the few things she
saved from the fire, a picture of Will and Lucas, vowing to help
him.
Salem Place
We rejoin Hope as John harshly warns her not to get Lexie
involved. Bo walks up from behind and grabs John, warning him not
to ever speak to his wife like that again and to stay away from
her. Bo demands to know what's going on between Hope and John and
asks them both point blank what it is. Neither respond and he
tells them both to keep their lies and starts to walk away when
Hope calls him back. Hope tells Bo she was trying to protect him
and Bo asks John to leave them alone so they can talk privately.
Hope stops John and tells Bo he owes John an apology. Bo tells
her that's not going to happen. John leaves saying nothing's more
important than the love Bo and Hope share. Bo feels he doesn't
own John a thing, but Hope owes him the complete truth. Hope
tells Bo she's trying to find out about what she did as Princess
Gina. She wants to be able to give JT answers when he grows up.
John walks away and runs smack into Kate (now in a pretty black
sundress) at Java Café. He offers to buy her a cup of coffee and
orders a couple of iced mochas. He knows she's had hard times and
asks about Lucas. She tells him Lucas is the same. He asks how it
stands between her and Victor and she tells them they're through.
He hurt her deeply, but she'll survive (but never forget) what
happened. Kate asks John about his new company that he acquired.
It was called Designed for Life or something, but he's renaming
it Basic Black. Kate assures him she did everything she could to
stop from sending Sami to the death chamber (Ha!) as she is
Will's mother, but Sami's holding a gun to her head over
something Lucas did rashly. Kate asks that John not think badly
of her and John assures her he doesn't. Kate wishes him luck with
his new company and they bid farewell to each other. Around the
corner Kate whips out her cell and calls "Roger" for a
favor and asks him to meet her in the usual place. (Didn't take
her long to get back in the swing of things) She eyes John saying
he's such a sweet man and ripe for the picking.
John finishes his coffee and remembers him and Hope/Gina making
love and then her vowing to get Lexie's help about her life as
Gina. He figures Stefano's changed Lexie and has to figure out
what she's up to.
After telling Bo about her search for her past, Hope is surprised
that Bo's not angry with her. He reminds her that she was a cop
and there are pieces of her life that are missing. Of course
she'd want to fill in the pieces. She hugs him and tells him how
much she loves him. He asks if there's anything else she wants to
tell him and she tells him there is.
Nicole sees Victor in the mall and demands to know what's
happening with him and Kate. He doesn't like her telling him how
to take care of Kate and insists he'll be the one standing when
it's all over, not Kate. She suggests he might want to "KO"
(knock out) John Black too with his starting a company to give
them competition. Victor reminds her how John is also Brady's
father. Guess they have valet parking at Salem Place as Nicole
hands her car stub to the valet. They talk about the Chloe/Brady/Philip
situation briefly and Victor calls Chloe a gold digger who's
after his money. Nicole doesn't think he has to worry as Brady
will see through her.
Later, back at Titan, Nicole joins Victor in his office, wearing
a black trench coat. She has a gift for him and sheds the coat
and is only wearing a yellow bra and panties. We rejoin them
later as Nicole puts the coat back on and Victor is ruffled up (sure
glad Marie didn't walk in with a message). He tells Nicole she
makes him feel so young (yuck) and she tells him she feels so
safe. He offers to make her feel safer and asks if she'd like to
move to Hawaii with him. She tells him she'd follow him anywhere,
but is not ready to quit working yet and worried he's going to
not stay and fight Kate.
Brady & Chloe
Brady tells Chloe he feels like he knew her in a previous life.
She feels like they didn't need introductions either, that they
had just found each other. They remember how they use to be and
were so much alike even then. Off they go for a drive in his hip
happening car. We come back to them talking how Brady just talked
his way out of a speeding ticket and he credits her smile to the
cop as being helpful as well. She doesn't care where they go, as
long as it's together, clearly enjoying herself. They arrive at
Salem Place (big surprise there, huh?) as Brady gives his car to
the valet to park. A man is collecting money to stop the
pollution problem and Brady and Chloe realize it's a con and
challenge him. The man ignores Brady, so Chloe asks a guy eating
a submarine sandwich for a piece of his baloney, which he happily
gives her. Brady asks the man a question and he doesn't know the
correct answer. Chloe offers the man the piece of baloney and
tells him once he eats it, he'll be full of baloney. The con man
hustles away. Chloe and Brady talk/argue about money. He tells
her money buys freedom, but she disagrees. He figures she'll
learn as she gets older what he means. He talks about his case
against the Salem PD and she reminds him he said Marlena helped
him win with her statement. He tells her The Powers That Be were
just waiting for Marlena to come in and testify and bail them out
of a jam, lol (hmmm, wonder which ones he means ;-) He's still
upset that Roman Brady is out on the streets as a cop. Chloe
defends them, but Brady changes the subject suggesting they get
something to eat.
Treasure Island
Belle and Philip chat as he whittles away on a piece of wood.
She's very worried about Shawn and Philip diving without scuba
gear or experience. He can tell she's more worried about Shawn
and ribs her about how close she and Shawn are getting. They talk
about Chloe and she suggests he just try not to think about her.
She asks how Lucas is (nice someone does!) and he says he's still
in critical condition (STILL??). They talk about Brady's good
recovery. She asks him about college not being far away. They
promise to stay friends via email and letters when in college.
Shawn and Mimi have a 1 on 1 chat about Shawn. Mimi clues Jan to
stay away from him, protecting her friend's interests. Jan tries
to rile Mimi, but Mimi stands up for herself (atta girl!). She
knows Jan is up to something and tells Jan she's not going to let
her get away with it and walks away. Alone, Jan tells herself
she'd never use Shawn for anything, still touched by his concern
for her.
Paul assures Shawn it won't be long before his granny has that
ruby in her hands. Shawn sentimentally tells Paul how his great
grandfather gave it to his great gran and returning it would be
like bringing a part of him back to her. Jan asks to speak to
Shawn alone before the dive and thanks him for what he said
earlier. Paul quizzes Shawn about Jan's personal life and Shawn
gets defensive, telling him to back off, Jan's just a kid! (What
a slime) Shawn tells him Jan has a BOYfriend and he's got his own
girlfriend. Paul changes the subject (where did all the dive
suits come from?). Shawn tells Paul the plan they agreed on where
Shawn will dive down to a peak in the water, look for the "pink"
clue and if necessary read it before getting out of the water.
Regardless, Paul wants the clue BEFORE Shawn gets out of the
water and into the boat. Belle asks to go again, but Paul won't
let her.
The 3 guys head out with Belle nervously warning Shawn to be
careful as she walks him to the boat. Mimi joins Belle and is not
as worried as Belle is. (Where in the heck are the teachers while
all this is going on? Some supervision!)
The guys motor out in the water to find the peak on the map.
Shawn dives in and does a good porpoise imitation as he swims to
the sea floor. Amazing how clear the water is and he finds the
clue immediately (mind you, no air mask). It's a spot with large
rocks surrounding what looks like a pink sleigh with coral in the
middle. He wipes away the sand in the middle as Paul and Philip
watch from the boat. As Shawn reaches in, the sled type object is
a trap and locks his wrist in it. Philip dives in to help his
friend as the credits roll.

Show #9118 - **
Tape Date: 7/18/01
Director: Herb Stein
Everyone more or less just spins their wheels today as John
confronts Lexie, Bo & Hope argue, both Abe & Nicole visit
Fay, flashbacks fill this episode, conversations repeat, &
Shawn gets rescued.
At DiMansion Rolf questions Lexie
about her visit w/Hope. Lexie, drinking a nice glass of wine, is
very happy, since Hope is so consumed with finding out about her
past as Gina on her own, she & Rolf won't have to do a thing.
Hope will be so distracted, she won't even think about a baby
switch. But Lexie has to "feed" her bits and pieces of
info, so will need help from her father and Rolf.
Meanwhile John is in his car, flashing back to Lexie & Hope
at the mall. He vows to put a stop to Lexie's interference, and
goes straight to DiMansion. (Doesn't even worry that Abe might be
home, hmmm). He questions Lexie about why she is pushing Hope,
and blows up at her, saying HE will decide what Hope should
remember. Lexie baits him, and they argue. John tries to show her
how she is turning into Stefano, and Lexie throws him out,
telling him he cannot return until he can act like a gentleman! (lol).
When he is gone, she smiles, saying "Damn, I'm good".
Rolf congratulates her for playing John like a concertina. Back
in his car, John realizes Lexie has become her father, and
Stefano is still in control, one by one, he takes people over. He
decides he has to get to Hope and end this madness.
Still At The Mall Bench Bo & Hope continue to talk. He
tries to get Hope to tell him what is on her mind, but Hope
flashes back to a conversation w/Marlena and one with Bo, both
relating to Hope telling Bo about J.T.'s parentage. She once
again makes excuses to Bo, just saying she is trying to find out
the things Gina did, so she can tell J.T. when he is old enough
to ask questions. (yeah, and there is a bridge in Brooklyn for
sale, too). He gets Hope to promise to tell him all she learns
from Lexie and John (seems Bo himself would have lots to tell her!)
& says he will take it all to Europe and look into things
there. Then Bo mentions that as long as he would be in Europe, he
will sidetrip to Ireland. They argue about that, and Bo says she
doen's trust him. As his pager goes off, Bo warns her that her
secrets are putting their marriage in serious jeopardy, and
reminds her that at their wedding they promised to always be
honest with each other.
At The Hudson St. Diner Fay is at the counter & is
surprised when Nicole walks in. Nicole says she is sorry, she
should have made reservations, and makes a crack about the "road
kill special...yum, yum" (was a good one, Nik). Nicole wants
to know about Paul, and Fay asks if Nik saw him. Long flashback
to Paul "surprising" Nicole with the hand over her
mouth greeting, and their entire conversation. Fays says Paul is
gone, and Nicole warns her not to allow the man back in her house.
Tells her to change locks, call police, etc. if he comes back.
Victor comes in to get Nik, & as they leave, Nicole goes back
and asks Fay about the can. Fay denies knowing anything about it,
but remembers Paul being upset when he learned about the new
house being built next door. Vic & Nicole leave, and in the
limo, talk of the can. Victor worries Phillip could be in danger
about this can, but is glad he is on this school trip and safe.
He plans on extra security for Phillip when he returns (Oh, Vic,
you should only know).
Abe arrives at the diner, in response to Fay having called him,
worried about Paul having hurt Fay, but she tells him she is o.k.
and Paul is gone. Abe tells her he hates living at DiMansion -
flashback of his argument w/Lexie about this outside the DiMera
home. He talks of how much Lexie has changed, her mood swings.
Fay suggests Lexie may be pregnant, but Abe says no. They talk a
bit more, and Abe gets a call on his cell phone from Bo. He tells
Abe about Lexie pushing Hope about this Gina thing, and Abe knew
nothing about this. They agree to meet in a while.
Temptation Island
A replay of Shawn getting his hand caught in the trap, and
Philip diving in to help. Belle & Mimi are watching from
shore, getting worried. Phil is unable to free Shawn, and goes up
to tell Paul. On shore, Belle gets more distressed, and strips
down to her suit (these gals wear nothing but their bikinis under
their clothes at all times.....convenient!) and goes out to help.
Paul takes some sort of long pole, and jumps in to help Shawn.
Belle gets into trouble and starts yelling for help. Philip hears
and goes to rescue her. Meanwhile, Paul gets Shawn AND the trap
into the boat, and manages to get Shawn's hand loose. (and the
heck with CPR or anything so mundane, right, Paul?) He ignores an
unconscious Shawn, telling him to "breathe, kid" as he
attempts to try and open the trap. Philip & Belle are yelling
for help and he ignores them, but as Shawn starts to come to, he
covers the trap with a shirt, and starts up the motor to go and
pick up Belle & Philip.
On shore, Paul disappears with the trap, and after some doing,
manages to open it, retrieving a circular piece of glass (like a
sun catcher) with writing on it. The first word is Paul, and Mr.
Slimeball recognizes his name, but worries if Shawn saw it at all.
He pulls out the map. Meanwhile, Philip & Shawn fill in Mimi
& Belle on what happened, and wonder what happened to the
clue. (WHERE the blazes are those teachers???) Also wonder where
Paul is. The girls go to get Belle into some dry clothes, and
Shawn remembers there was writing on the clue. Philips asks
"What, tell me". And Shawn replies "You're not
gonna believe it".......and the credits roll.

Show #9119 - *
Tape Date: 7/19/01
Director: Randy Robbins
Another slow day of moaning, groaning, name calling and
drinking. Colin applies for work at the hospital, but Craig makes
up his mind by hearing the secret word (Horton).
Colin Looks For Work
He opens the main door to hospital and sees Jen's face on another
blond woman. He knows Elizabeth wouldn't like what he is doing
there. Later he arrives at Craig's office door and is greeted by
both Wesley's. Nancy fawns over his accent and acts like a dufus
wanting him to just talk so she can hear it. Craig finally
escorts her to the door, explaining she's an Angliophile to Colin.
Nancy tells him she loves all English, Scottish, Irish accents (don't
see her fawning over Pop Shawn, haha) and leaves. Craig explains
everything he and Colin discuss stays in the office. Craig goes
over Colin's resume and sees his schooling was mostly in England,
which explains the accent he says. He sees Colin's time in Africa
on his resume and Colin mentions working with Dr. Bill Horton
there (which doesn't score points with Craig obviously as he puts
the resume down then). Colin mentions his mother's brother owns a
pub in Salem and tells him who it is. He tells Craig his fiancé
won't approve, but he's thought about settling down in Salem.
Colin mentions working there and Craig tells him he has bad news
for him, no openings. Craig explains one of their senior staff is
contemplating retirement, but otherwise (Lexie's been on
maternity leave for over a year, guess they must not be that
busy, huh?) Nancy returns and upset Craig didn't hire him.
Outside the hospital Colin wonders where Jennifer is.
Jack & Greta Sip Their Day Away
Jack's sipping an iced mocha at Java Café (how does he afford
all those mochas without working?) As he remembers Jen going
shopping with Jen earlier, Greta walks up asking why he looks
like he lost his best friend. He wonders if he has lost Greta's
friendship and admits moving in with Jen was a big mistake. He's
got the bah-humbugs about marriage and says phooey on love,
marriage and sex. All he wants to do is raise his daughter and
make her happy. Greta explains Abby will be okay and she'll have
two parents who love her, more than she did while growing up. She
mentions not having a father while growing up, which awakens his
reporter instincts. She changes the subject back to him and he
goes along, feeling sorry for himself. She tells him self pity
isn't attractive and he drags her into his "foxhole",
reminding her that her prospects aren't there either. She's tired
of crying about it and decides to cheer them up by going to the
Blue Note for a drink. (Salem's newest theory apparently, drink
to be happy?) Jack's last experience at The Blue Note has him
refuse that offer and they continue to chat over their almost
full mochas instead as he moans about what to do. She gets tired
of hearing him whine and insists they have 16 minutes left for
Happy Hour at The Blue Note and insists he go with her (what time
is Happy Hour in Salem? Jen and Alice are just eating lunch.)
Jack thanks her for caring and they smile at each other.
Later at the bar of the Blue Note with their wine, Jack notes a
man at the next table is eying Greta. Greta ignores that and
cuddles up with Jack instead, insisting she cares about him and
they're just friends. They toast to Jack and the Princess. She
boasts Jack's ego, telling him he's an easy guy to love.
At The Pub
Jen and Alice have lunch at the Brady Pub. Jen's lack of appetite
causes concern for Alice and she asks what Jack's done now. She
tells Gran how wonderful Jack was when he saved her life and was
her hero, the Jack she fell in love with. She tells her of Abby's
dare for Jack to kiss her and when he did. Jen disses Jack to
Gran (to anyone that will listen nowadays) then apologizes to
Gran for being disrespectful the way she talked. Gran assures her
it's okay and Jen changes the subject to the ruby, asking if
there was any clues to it's whereabouts. Gran figures the ruby is
gone forever, unlike her love for Tom. Back to the Jack and Jen
subject as Jen's afraid Jack will talk her into giving him
another chance. Jen needs more time and tells Gran about hearing
the man in Africa's voice the night before. He's way over in
Ireland though and Jack's hanging around with Greta to try and
drive her crazy. Jen said it's only making her mad and Jack's
acting juvenile (I'll second that, especially after their last
scene at Java Café).
Fantasy Island
Before Shawn tells Philip what the message said, the girls join
them and they tell Mimi about what happened. Jason's swiggin in
the bushes and joins them, wanting to know what they're up to.
Mimi covers for them and Jan joins them and Shawn finally has to
tell her to knock it off when she does her "Jan thing".
Susan and Kevin privately chat about their future success. Jason
is drunk and stumbles around wondering what the others are up to.
He trips on the trap Paul hid in the bushes and his hand gets
caught in the trap. Susan rushes over to help him and he tells
Gigantor to get away and find Shawn and Philip. (she should have
left him there) She tells him she's not helpless and finds the
trick to opening the trap and releases him, asking if he's drunk.
He denies it and snidely walks away (hey, a thank you would have
been nice). Jan harasses Mimi and starts in on Susan when she
comes to Mimi's defense. The rest of the kids join in (where are
those teachers, sure glad those aren't my kids out there so
unsupervised) Susan challenges Jan and threatens to make her
apologize if she doesn't do it willingly. The other kids dare
Jan, but Jan reminds them she can't afford any more trouble. She
walks away, but is forced to apologize if she doesn't want to get
into trouble. After Jan does, the other kids high five each
other, but Jan privately threatens retaliation under her breath.
Philip and Shawn scurry into the bushes to talk about the message
and he tells him he saw Paul and a bunch of numbers on it.
Paul threatens to kill of the kids if they mess up his plans.
He's frustrated because he can't read it and sees Penelope
writing down something about the plant life there. He demands she
come over to him and yanks her over personally. As she tries to
scream, he covers her mouth (his favorite greeting to people
apparently). Penelope is terrified but finally reads the message
to him about looking for a star, but not in the sky. He has to
figure out the numbers in the message to know where to look. Paul
damns his buddy. He asks her name and she tells him shy girl and
then Penelope. He asks her about Jan then but rushes her away as
Penelope quakes.
Kevin congratulates Susan on her victory. Now dressed in dry
clothes finally, it dawns on Shawn and Philip that Paul might be
after them for the ruby (duh). Shawn remembers Paul wanting him
to dive down for the clue and figures he knew it was a trap down
there. Shawn's worried about putting Belle in any more danger and
they confront Paul on their own. They want the truth! Paul stands
up at that comment and the credits roll.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 17, 2001
Show #9120 - **
Tape Date: 7/19/01
Director: Randy Robbins
Another slow day, although we DO get to see Alice, Julie, Craig
and Nancy. Paul's sleezy side really shines through and John
makes a scene.
On The Island Shawn and Philip confront Paul as
to what he's up to. Paul gets angry at first as they question him
as to how he knew about the ruby (Shawn doesn't remember telling
him). Paul swears he did, but he was to busy chasing after the
blonde "hoochie mama" (Belle) to remember. Shawn gets
angry but Philip calms him down. Shawn wants to know why Paul's
name was on the clue and thinks that maybe HE is the one who
stole the ruby in the first place. Paul talks his way out of it
and reveals that he has the clue. Shawn reads it "Paul,
you're in the pink if you get this far. It's almost time to look
for a star. But not the kind you find in the sky, look at these
numbers and you'll know why". They compare the numbers to
the map and figure out that it's longitude and latitude numbers
that form the star. The area it reveals is a cliff, but it's too
late and they will start in the morning. After the guys leave,
Jan wanders up and asks Paul if he was serious about her being a
model. He pumps and strokes her ego, much to her delight. Paul
flatters her and assures her that she could be a star. He takes
down her address and phone number. He questions her about her
home life and she tells him how bad it is. She talks about the
community service she will have to do and tells him that she is
considering dropping out of school. He agrees with her and thinks
she should be free and on her own. The sooner the better. He asks
her how she feels about nudity in films. Even though she seems a
bit uncomfortable about it, if her job calls for it, so be it.
She babbles about Marilyn Monroe and then has to leave to work on
some kind of water contamination project. After she is gone he
thinks that Nicky only did one porn flick before she went all
moral on him. He says that Jan will pick up where Nicky left off
and she is going to make him LOTS of money. (Geez, just watching
this guy makes me want to go and wash my hands). Philip sits and
mopes about Chloe. Shawn joins him and they talk about "uncle"
Paul. Philip doesn't trust the guy at all. But Shawn doesn't
think he will try anything shady. Philip considers having Woods
take him back to the mainland so he can go home, but Shawn talks
him out of it. He assures Philip that Chloe won't move on with
another guy.
At The Blue Note
Greta and Jack are still at the Blue Note, but now Alice and
Julie are there with an eye on them. Alice gives Julie a Jack
& Jen update (even tells her about the kiss). Julie thinks
that perhaps Jack HAS changed after all. Greta continues to
flatter/come-on to Jack. He vows friendship to her and promises
to be there if she needs anything. As they watch, Julie thinks
that there is something going on between them. Jack grabs his
chest (Greta thinks he is having a heart attack) and tells her
that he is in shock that he actually showed concern for another
human being (besides his daughter) and that he may be turning
into someone that Jennifer could love. She tells him to stop
worrying about how to make Jennifer happy and concentrate on his
own life. Greta hears the music and asks Jack to dance with her.
Julie is convinced something is going on. Alice tells her that
just because they are dancing, it doesn't mean they are "hooking
up". Julie chuckles at her, asking what she knows about
"hooking up". Alice assures her that the terminology
may change, but it's still the same as when she was younger.
Greta and Jack dance as Alice and Julie watch. Julie talks about
how she and Doug are faithful to each other even though men DO
still find her attractive. (Be sure to check out the face Alice
gives her). Some guy comes by and asks Julie to "cut a rug"
with him and she obliges. Watching them, Alice has a flashback
memory of her and Tom dancing. When Julie returns, Alice asks her
if everything is okay between her and Doug. Julie just stares at
her. Later, Greta drops by and says hello to Alice and they talk
about how Alice loves Big Band Music. Alice asks Greta if she and
Jack are still just friends. Greta assures her that they are, but
alludes that she is hoping for more. After she leaves, Alice
fears that Jennifer may be waiting too long to make a move.
At The Wesleys
First, Chloe and Brady are emerging from the movies. It was a
love story and Brady hated it, Chloe loved it. He suggests that
they go by Hudson Street Diner for a BLT, but she offers to make
him one when he takes her home. They spot John and Hope and
wonder what they are talking about, they don't look like happy
campers, one of them notes. As they wait for Brady's car, 2 girls
come by and openly flirt with him, clearly making Chloe a bit
jealous. At home, Nancy greets Craig dressed in a Mexican
Senorita get up, mixing margaritas. They sit and enjoy as they
talk about work. She wants him to hire Colin Murphy. The line of
the day goes to Craig when he asks if the margaritas and the
fetching peasant blouse are just a ploy to, uh, "enlarge his
staff" (ROFLMAO!!!) Anyway, when Chloe and Brady arrive,
they find Nancy and Craig on the sofa, half-drunk, giggling and
making out. Clearly embarrassed, Chloe drags Brady off to the
kitchen (as Craig warns him that she uses TURKEY bacon in her
BLT's). Nancy isn't too happy that Brady is there and can't
believe that she would be over Philip that fast. As Chloe fixes
the sandwiches, she asks him about his future and if he is
planning on returning to college. He informs her that he may
enroll at Salem University so he can stay near home to work for
his dad. He says that he loves his dad, which shocks her, she has
NEVER heard him say he loved ANYONE. They sit to eat and he
points out that she forgot the cole slaw. She rushes to get it as
both are laughing. Nancy wants to go and check on them, but Craig
stops her. He tells her enough play, it's time for her to put out.
She tells him that he has to catch her first and takes off
running. A clearly tipsy Craig takes off after her.
Salem Place
John is wandering through Salem Place, thinking how he must keep
the Hope situation under control. He sees Hope and Jen at the
Jave CafÈ, (assumes that Hope is telling Jen all about it now).
He almost blows a gasket and barges on over there. He barks at
Hope that they need to talk and that her conversation with
Jennifer is OVER. (They seem to have some continuity problems
here, because it looks dark in the next scene). He grabs her by
the arm forcefully and drags her away from the table, saying they
need to talk. She tells him to never treat her that way and he
tells her to never blow him off like that again. (OOPS, next
scene, it looks like it's daylight again) He rails her out about
dragging Lexie into this and now Jennifer. She tells him that
it's her life and if he won't help her, she is going to find
someone who will. He promises to help her, but there is a big
"but" attached to it. She is to break all ties with
Lexie. She tells him that Lexie is her friend and she needs her
help. John points out that she is a DiMera and can't be trusted.
They argue and he insists that HE is the only person she can
trust. Since they are making a scene, Jennifer comes up and tells
them that this is not the time/place and suggests they leave. As
Hope and Jen go to leave, John grabs Hope by the arm again and
tells her to "keep her mouth shut". She tells him to
let go of her. He apologizes for his behavior (to Jen) and
assures Hope that he never wanted to hurt her and then he leaves.
After he leaves, Jen tells Hope to let her know if she can help
in any way. Hope tells her that she only wants to take back
control of her life. She tells Jen that she needs to do the same
and asks about her and Jack. Jen can't deal with that pressure
right now, but Hope tells her that if she is interested at all in
Jack, she should make her move now, not wait until she is a guest
at his wedding, to someone else. Alone on a park bench, John has
flashbacks of his time with Princess Gina (and YES, there are sub-sex
scenes). He wonders how he is going to tell her what she wants to
know. He would rather she hear it from someone who loved her (no,
he corrects himself, loved GINA). He says he DID love Gina, but
how did he get involved with her? How did it start? How long did
it last? Frustrated, he says that even HE doesn't know the whole
story and HE wants answers as well, and the credits roll.
