Chloe has her day in court...and Fay turns to Abe...and Paul
makes plans.
Fay Turns To Abe
Fay and Paul wake up in bed, with her not wanting him to touch
her as she is very uncomfortable with him. He sees the clock and
jumps up, saying he has something to take care of and leaves. He
shows up at the Lockhart residence next door and asks Maureen (who
is running late for court) about the can. She tells him that she
asked her daughter and that one of her friends, Shawn Brady now
has it. He returns home to find Fay getting ready for work. (She
has already stripped the bed). She thinks he is up to no good
again and tells him that he needs to find another place to live,
then she rushes off.After Paul is gone, Fay rushes outside to a
waiting car, Abe inside. She tells him about Paul and Abe is
upset because she didn't tell him sooner. She tries (half-heartedly)
to defend Paul, but Abe tells her that this is the 21st century
and she doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to. He is
upset that Fay let him force himself on her. He asks her what she!
wants him to do and she doesn't know. She is worried about how
Paul will react and treat Abe. Abe is upset with her and tells
her to just go on back to Paul and let him beat her again. She
finally admits that she is indeed terrified of Paul.
Chloe Gets Her Day In Court
Philip is at home and sees the paper and wishes he could be there
for Chloe. After some flashbacks, he can't stand it anymore and
starts getting ready.Today is judgment day for Jan and Mimi as
Belle, Shawn and Chloe arrive at the courthouse. Jan and Mimi
arrive with Cameron as well. Mimi goes and sits down as Jan wants
to talk to Chloe. She cries crocodile tears as she apologizes to
her, Shawn and Belle. When she sits down, she cuts a wicked smile
at Mimi. Mr. Woods, Kevin, Susan and other kids also arrive for
the hearing. Jan is pleased with her performance, but Chloe, who
isn't buying one word of it, can't wait for Jan to see what her
punishment is, then they will see the REAL tears. Mimi is upset
and fidgety as Jan snaps at her. Maureen comes rushing in to show
support and Jan watches, wondering why her parents aren't there.
Jason shows up and tells her that her dad isn't coming, but maybe
her mom will. Jan says that mom wouldn't dare miss! her manicure.
Belle and Shawn are looking at the pictures they found in the
locker as Chloe studies the map. She notices that the map looks
like Puerto Rico and the islands around it. She also notices
someone (Paul) in dark glasses in the back of the room watching
them. Belle thinks that Shawn should ask Bo for help, but Shawn
tells her that the Salem PD would have no jurisdiction there. He
tells them that he plans on renting a boat on their trip and
exploring the island on their own. They ask chloe to help, but
she has to think about it. She doesn't want to go on the trip if
Philip is going, so Belle promises to find out for her. They
promise not to tell anyone about their secret mission to find
Alice's ruby. Nancy and Craig come rushing in at the last minute
as Nancy complains about being there. She says she doesn't want
to be there if Chloe is going to ignore them. But, Chloe comes up
and sits with them when the hearing starts. Court comes to order
as Philip slips in the! back door as all rise. The judge calls
Chloe to the stand and questions her as to her feelings and what
she believes should be done to Jan and Mimi. She asks Chloe for
her side of the story and she goes into this long dissertation
about being popular and violence in schools as she spots Philip
in the back of the room. She talks about the lessons she has
learned in life from her love for opera, etc. She talks about
jealousy, violence and revenge and where it gets you and the only
justice she wants if for things to change. She gets a standing
ovation, led by Susan and Kevin, with everyone else joining in.
The judge addresses Jan and Mimi and says that she couldn't add
much to what Chloe said but proceeds to drag their collective
butts over the coals. For their restitution, first they will
donate all the money they made to the Salem High music department.
They are also to go on the school trip this summer. As Mimi
protests, saying her family can't afford it, the judge tells them
not to worry for they will work as janitors for their whole
senior year, cleaning out the showers and toilets daily at school.
They are barred from all extra-curricular activities, no
cheerleading, no soccer, no dances or proms for the entire year.
The judge promises if they fail to comply, they will be sentenced
to a juvenile facility until they are 21. Mimi rushes out of the
courtroom as Jan wishes her "daddy" were there. Court
is dismissed as 2 of the other kids tease Jan and ask Jason if he
is going to help her clean toilets. Mr. Woods breaks it up and
asks Kevin and Susan if they are going on the trip. Kevin is, but
Susan declines. But Kevin vows to change her mind. Belle talks
with Philip and asks if he is going on the trip. She tells him
that Chloe wants to go, but will not if he does, so he decides
not to go. Craig and Nancy tell Chloe how proud they are of her
and she is downright nice to them. Paul is over in the corner on
a pay phone, talking to "Nicky". Belle in! forms Chloe
that Philip isn't going and she decides to go on the trip, if for
nothing else, to keep an eye on Jan and Mimi. Shawn tells her he
is glad she is going to Treasure Island with them. Paul (lurking
in the background) overhears and says to himself, that the
treasure is all his and he is NOT going to share and laughs an
evil laugh and the credits roll.Laney

A new day in Salem at Salem Place and dotCom as the teens talk
about their upcoming adventure, Jen and Hope shop and talk again
and Nicole talks Philip into going on the trip. (doesn't ANYONE
work in Salem?)
Salem Place
Jen and Hope go to Salem Park (aka, the bench across from the
mall next to the stairs). Hope wants to know what Jen and Greta
talked about, but Jen tells her that Greta is too "cheery"
for her, LOL. She's a little jealous of Greta, but not because of
the time she spends with Jack, but all of the things that Greta
has going for her). She can't understand what a princess would
want with Jack Deveraux though. They talk about Colin Murphy.
Hope wondered if Jen wanted to talk about him to her, but Jen
thinks it was just a fixation on him in her own mind. She can't
believe she drug Abby away from her father to follow Colin to
Ireland. She was mortified by the look on his face when he saw
her and he looked at her like she was collecting a past due rent
check. She hopes to never see him again (aha, we know what THAT
means..) They walk a little and head back to the bench for more
talk. Hope assures Jen that she won't spend the rest of her life
alone. H! ope tells her to keep an open mind as there's some guy
out there looking for her. Jen thanks Hope for being such a great
cousin and they rush off to Salem Place to buy some swim trunks
for JT (where is JT by the way, home with his invisible father?)
Also at Salem Place, Jack looks into a window waiting for Greta.
She joins him and he tells her she's in troubled. She's 2 minutes
late. She shows him a newspaper and has circled job listings in
blue and pink for them. He tells her he didn't see any butcher,
baker or candlestick maker in the paper and she teases him about
not wanting to see him with a butcher knife and he mimics the
infamous psycho scene with the knife in the shower, LOL! They
head to Java CafÈ for coffee and donuts (did we have those on
the menu?). He asks how her talk with Jen went and she tells him
that Jen rushed off and they didn't talk. She tells him Jen acted
a little weird and she wonders if Jen might still have a "thing"
for him. His interest is peaked. She suspects Jen might be
bothered by his friendship with her too. He's sure Jennifer
misses him, but Greta isn't as convinced. Now with iced mochas,
the two sit at a table and talk about her claim that he's using
her to make Jen jealous..but assu! res her he considers her a
friend. They both want their relationship to be just that,
friends. He wants to make sure she's not interested in him any
more than friends and she blasts him between the eyes that she's
not. He just doesn't want her hurt and wants to be her friend.
She thanks him and agrees. He comes back with some Belgian
chocolates he got talked into buying from some kids (complaining
they were made in New Jersey, haha). He already ate 3 on the way
back to the table. He glances at the paper and asks her to pass
the chocolates which he devours and suggests they go watch a game
on the tube. He gets a piece of caramel and tells her that his
mouth is stuck together. She puts her hands on his face telling
him to chew when he spots Jen and Hope walking up. He makes sure
her hands stay there and Greta laughs while Jen and Hope stop in
their tracks and watch.
Dot Com
At dot Com, Kevin tries to show Susan something on the computer.
She tells him, in a nice way, that she's not a techno geek like
he is, but wants to know why he won't go on the field trip
without him. He explains he's looking forward to both the
studious part of the trip as well as having fun. He tells her he
refuses to go to the island if she doesn't and you can tell she's
flattered as she laughs. Kevin tells her the pros of the trip and
she tells him the negative sides. Belle and Shawn join in and try
to help Kevin talk her into going. Susan tells S&B they're
popular and never will know what they have to face. Kevin tells
Susan she's doing what she's been protesting against by
categorizing them and Susan apologizes and agrees to go on the
trip.
The waitress at dotCom compliments/flirts Brady with him on his
progress. He sits at a table and puts his cane down to read.
Belle, Chloe and Shawn walk in (not seeing Brady) and the gals
order Iced Mochas while Shawn just has water. Paul walks in and
listens in on their conversation. They compliment Chloe on what
happened to Mimi and Jan, but she informs them that their
retribution is just beginning. She explains she means M & J's
janitorial duties at Salem High next year. Paul grows frustrated
as he overhears them talking about a couple JD's (juvenile
delinquents). Shawn reminds the girls they leave TOMORROW for the
trip and have they packed? Belle tells them her parents will be
surprised to learn she IS going and tomorrow. Both Shawn and
Chloe claim to be the key to Belle's going and they talk about
the treasure map. They talk about their time in Puerto Rico (aka
Catalina, haha). Shawn explains how they'll start their search as
Paul listens in, claiming to himself ! that the treasure is HIS (well,
maybe Fay will get rid of him at least). Chloe heads off to get a
book on Puerto Rico and spots Paul sitting nearby. She trips over
Brady's cane as she stares and stumbles on the floor at Brady's
feet. He thanks her for dropping by and he stands up to offer her
his hand (a change in roles he explained). He tells her his
physical therapist gave him a gold star and he won't be needing
his cane much longer. She tells him it's over with her and Philip
and he can tell Victor that too. She tells him she's not
interested in guys for a while and going to focus on her music He
doesn't buy it and asks if Shawn and Belle believe she's finished
with Philip too. She continues to vow she's over Philip, but now
in tears and he tells her softly that he'll be there if she needs
him. She rejoins Shawn and Belle, but he tells himself he'll be
waiting for her.
While alone, Shawn and Belle quietly talk about fate. Shawn's
anxious to get Gran's ruby back and see her face when he gives it
to her. Paul leaves after hearing they leave tomorrow for their
trip. The girls run off to shop and Belle spots Brady and hugs
him. She tells him about their trip to Puerto Rico and he wonders
if Philip is going.
Philip is playing bag boy to Nicole (what's with the hat boxes?
How many stores give you decorated hat boxes anymore for your
purchases?) She has a question only he can answer. She asks what
happened between Kate and Victor the day before. He tells her
it's none of her business. She tries to tell him it would help
her help his dad if she knew what happened. He tells her Kate
isn't a waitress and they made a deal and he'll be around this
summer to make sure it gets upheld. She's surprised, thinking
he'd be off on an island. He explains how Chloe's going on the
trip and doesn't want him there. Nicole tries to talk him into
going and he asks how come she's never depressed. She explains
it's a waste of time. They talk about her father for a bit, then
get back to what Philip should do. He says Mr. Wood claimed it
would look good on his college application that he went on this
trip, but doesn't want to cause any more problems with Chloe.
Nicole encourages Philip to go on that trip He tells her he can't
as he promised his father he'd stay away from Chloe. Nicole keeps
up on her campaign to get him to go and she promises to keep an
eye on Victor in his absence. Philip finally agrees to go and
Nicole tells herself that she hopes Chloe doesn't go ballistic on
Philip, but she needs Philip out of town so he won't be around
watching Kate and Victor and helping his mother squeeze all of
Victor's money away as the credits roll.

JULY 25, 2001
At The Deveraux's
Jack & Jen are helping Abby get ready for a swimming outing.
As she leaves, she asks Jen to please not fight with daddy, and
surprised Jen says she won't. Once Abby is gone, the two banter
back and forth about inconsequential things, a cup of coffee, the
newspaper, and then they talk of friends, and Greta is mentioned.
Jen seems a bit jealous, but Jack insists she is only a friend,
but since Jen needs one...he will back off, and she can be
friends with Greta. Jen invents a guy friend, elegant, (lol -and
just WHEN does she see this man?) and Jack brings up Jen running
off to Ireland. Eventually, Jen gets angry enough she begins to
throw things at Jack, missing him as they break against the wall.
He runs upstairs and she puts down a vase of flowers, sloshing
water on her hand (gee, water in a vase of fake flowers!!) She
picks up one of the flowers, deciding she WILL become friends
with Greta, thus find out what is going on.
At Bo & Hope's
Shawn is packing, looking once more at the pictures of the
jewelry items, and promising to bring home his great-gramma's
ruby. Hope brings a load of laundry to fold, and Bo (YAY, Bo is
really there!!) offers to help. As they pick up one of JT's t-shirts
that says Daddy's little boy on it, Hope gets an odd look,
flashes back to the Last Blast dance and asking John about how JT
was conceived. She then tells Bo she thinks she is ready now to
learn about her life as Gina. Bo reassures her, but asks if she
is really ready to find out who JT's biological father is. Shawn
finishes packing, comes down and they both hug him, wishing him
good luck and telling him how they will miss him.
At The Wesley's
Chloe is packing, looking at Philip's picture. Nancy is passing
by in the hallway with Honey (the poodle) who runs into Chloe's
room. She picks him up, talking to herself about how she never
told Philip she loved him, but she really did. With all her heart.
The song "I Need You" comes on the radio....and she
flashes back to their dancing in the woods. She is crying, and
Nancy comes in to comfort her. She hollars at Nancy that this is
all her fault, since Nancy gave her away as a baby, and it has
been downhill ever since. She then apologizes for saying that,
and is actually nice to her mother. Nancy asks if she can make
her some tea, Chloe says yes, and asks if there is any pineapple
upside down cake left...she'd like a piece. Nancy asks if she
could join her, and Chloe says that would be very nice...and
Nancy leaves the room, very happy.
At The Kiriakis
Philip is packing, sighing over Chloe's pic. Victor walks in, and
praises Philip for making the right decisions, and says he is
even proud of him for standing by his mother. Victor says he will
keep his promises about Kate. Phil talks about how they used to
love each other, then asks Victor about Nicole, if they are an
item. Victor denies it, saying they work together.
At Titan
Nicole arrives in her car, gets out, and Paul sneaks up behind
her, with his hand over her mouth. (just like he did to Fay)
She is angry with him, they have a few words. She reminds
him how he made her do terrible things, but he claims it
was so she would one day be where she is now. (Boy, is this
guy a creep) She asks if he has seen Mom, and the way he
replies, lets her know he was intimate with Fay. She gets
upset by it. Paul then tells her about the can, saying he had
buried it, and he had this piece of jewelry in it, a
surprise for Fay for their 20th anniversary (now hold on
here, both Brandon & Nicole are way over 20), tells her
how Shawn Brady has the can and asks questions, Nik tells him
Shawn's dad is a cop and to stay away from him. Paul asks
about the trip and Nik tells him all about it, and they are
leaving today. He mentions her liason with Victor and she is
surprised he knows. He tells her knowledge is power. She begins
to get angry, and Paul appears to have some sort of attack
(has to be faking it), but promises to leave town to make Nicole
happy. To himself he thinks this is a great idea and good alibi
for his reason for leaving town.
Nik returns home, upset. Tells Victor about her father, and begs
Victor to protect her. Victor soothes her, saying he won't let
anyone ever harm her.
At The Penthouse
John is musing over thoughts of Hope wanting to know about her
past. Brady comes in, and John realizes Brady is walking unaided.
He gives him a big hug. Upstairs, Marlena is helping Belle pack,
& Belle says she needs a 2nd suitcase, & Marlena reminds
her instructions say only one. They talk of Shawn, and how tho
Belle has known him all her life, it is different now. They speak
of young love, sex, and the trip. (very nice mother-daughter
moments here). Downstairs the doorbell rings, and Brady opens the
door to find Mimi. She has come to apologize, realizes that her
actions not only hurt Chloe, but lots of other people as well.
She regrets screwing up her friendship with Belle. John says he
will give Belle the message, but she will have plenty of time on
the trip to see Belle. Right now is not a good time. Mimi leaves,
as Belle comes down the stairs, followed by Marlena lugging what
appears to be a VERY heavy suitcase. Guess she got everything
into the one piece of luggage after all. Belle sees Brady walking
and gives him a big hug, while Marlena tells him how very, very
proud of him she is....that he did it all himself. Brady beams.
Belle hugs everyone, saying goodbye.
At The Lockharts
Mimi's mom brings her suitcase outside, saying she has to get
going. Mimi almost decides not to go, but knows she has to.
The next scenes show each of the teens individually, outside
their homes with backpacks, etc. Shawn, Philip, Belle, Chloe,
Mimi. We then see Paul with airline ticket in hand, saying to
himself, he will reach the island before the kids do. He is in
the center of screen, kissing the ticket, and saying Adios, Salem!
Bueno Dias, Puerto Rico! A collage of the 5 teens appears all
around him. Freeze frame. And the credits roll.

JULY 26, 2001

The teens gather at the airport and head to Puerto Rico.
Paul Mendez lurks in the airport before the flight while the
teens gather. Mr. Woods tries to get everyone organized while the
kids are restless and rude, obviously not having learned anything
at the dance. Other kids call Susan, a shy girl, and a girl that
prefers to dress in coveralls, "Gigantor", "Shy",
and "Butch" respectively. (this spoiler is tired of all
the name calling and excuse me, being middle-aged myself, tired
of the new soap Teens in Salem, so today's spoiler will be
shorter than usual. I know many of you feel the same way, so will
understand.Jan hasn't learned anything and continues her sarcasm.
Brady drives Chloe, Shawn and Belle to the airport. Paul steals a
student's itinerary to find out when they'll arrive in Puerto
Rico before catching his own flight (guess the probation officer
in Salem is as efficient as the Salem PD). On the flight he
remembers talking with his cellmate warning him to wait until he
gets out before getting the can. He flirts with the airline
attendant and asks for her phone number (what a sleaze) and she
gives it to him. She doesn't charge him for the cds to listen to.
He squirms in his seat and tells the same attendant he's use to
flying first class (the other 2 seats in his row are empty). He
says he has a yacht in San Juan, yada yada and she takes him up
to a first class seat where he sips wine. He tells her he'll be
too busy in Puerto Rico to do anything, but after he gets back
from Puerto Rico they'll have a drink at the Blue Note (big
spender!). (Where did he get the money for all this by the way?)The
student who lost her itiner! ary tells the teacher and Kevin
gives his to her. Mimi is frustrated with Jan and no one else
talks with her. Susan and the shy girl chat amiably as do Kevin
and a few other guys.
Susan gets Penelope (shy girl) to open up and Penelope asks Susan
to show her how to use makeup some day. Mr. Woods overhears a
couple kids talking and referring to gigantor and shy girl and
tells them to knock it off or they'll not be on the trip and
cleaning toilets with Jan and Mimi. A woman (Spanish teacher?)
tells Mr. W. only 3 kids are missing and he tells them to load
the plane with the other kids and he'll wait for Belle, Shawn and
Chloe. (Are they the only chaperones? The Last Blast Dance had
more than that and it didn't involve 2 weeks on an island with 20
teens). Philip is last to board, looking for Chloe.
A pretty redhead, Heather I think, asks to sit next to him, but
he wants the seat available should Chloe want to sit there.
BS&C run up just in time and get on the plane (guess they
must have checked their suitcases while running up as they only
have carry-ons that'll fit in the overheads and Belle's
definitely was not that). Belle remembers forgetting her camera
in Brady's van. Jason's as sick of Jan's mouth as I am (high 5
Jason) and tells her so. We learn her mother missed the trial for
a nail appointment and Jason comments on that. Mimi wants the
trip to be over already (another high 5 to Mimi!) The student
sitting next to her tires of Mimi's whining and tells her not to
wish her life away, along with another think positive speech.Chloe
and Jan exchange glares. Chloe has a hard time with her carry on
in the overhead and Philip gets up to help her. She demands off
the plane and at first is told she can't, but the attendant calls
the pilot and tells him to go ba! ck to the terminal as Chloe
threatens to scream.
She thinks B&S lied to her about Philip not coming, but
Philip tells her they didn't know and he loves her and wants her
to go on the trip. They stare at each other through the door
window as he's still on the plane. He mouths I love you to her
and she walks into the airport, remembering when he took her
glasses off on the pier (before she wore eye makeup and when he
combed his hair back), her front yard when she kissed him,
H&B's reception, the rain, the barn. Brady walks in with
Belle's camera and finds Chloe watching the plane taxi down the
runway. He finds out what happened and how Philip told her he
loved her.
She tells him they're all lies, but Brady said she won't believe
it as she's never let anyone get that close to her to believe it.Shawn
joins Philip and we learn the trip is 2 weeks long (or is it two
LONG weeks?? Hmmm ;-). They tell him Chloe will be there when he
returns. He moans and goes to exercise his legs as Belle sits
next to Shawn. Heather and her friend such a cute, rich guy were
their boyfriend.
Belle tells Shawn it's just the 2 of them on the treasure hunt,
but he talks her into asking Mimi to help. Belle finally agrees
and sits next to Mimi, saying they need to talk. Brady takes a
picture of a sad Chloe and on the bottom half of the screen,
Philip sits down and stares into the distance as the credits roll.

Show gets the extra star today...because there are NO
TEENS! John and Marlena vist the rebuilt Tuscany... Jen considers
forgetting about on Colin...just when he shows up in Salem!
John and Marlena go out to dinner at the newly re-opened Tuscany.
They are greeted by Maggie, to whom John gets snippy with
immediately when Maggie asks them how things are on the homefront.
Marlena explains that things are good. After they are seated,
John and Maggie have words again, as she gives it right back to
him (go Maggie). As Maggie leaves, Marlena takes up for her
friend. Marlena tells him to let it go, as she is upset over
Belle's leaving. They talk about JT and Marlena tells him that he
needs to keep his promise and let Bo raise JT as his own son.
This upsets John, who wants to tell her something about Hope and
how she wants to know about her life as Princess Gina, in
particular, how JT was conceived. Now, it's Marlena's turn to get
upset as she asks just WHAT Hope wants to know. Everything, John
tells her, which upsets Marlena terribly. She asks John not to do
it, it would be a big mistake. She (Marlena) wants to know about
Gina as well, but he refuses to tel! l her. He accuses her of
being jealous like she is of Isabella. Marlena reminds him that
Isabella is dead, Hope is ALIVE. She asks when/where will it end?
(Hmmm, I'd like to know the same. They just can't leave Gina dead
and buried now can they???) John thinks that if Hope knows all,
it will be over and they can ALL move on. But, Marlena is afraid
that if Hope knows everything, the memories and feelings hidden
deep inside will be awakened and she will fall in love with John
all over again. He assures her that SHE is the only woman he
loves and that will never change. He gives her the choice, saying
it is up to her. Marlena tells him to tell her, tell her
everything, the who, what & where. But asks him to leave out
the romantic part out of respect for their marriage. He tells her
that she has a deal and they seal it with a kiss as he calls her
one amazing woman. She tells him that he is an amazing lover and
that she doesn't want to share him.
At the Blue Note
Greta and Hope meet up. Nicole is also there (at the bar having a
drink) and sees them. Hope and Greta spot Lexie and Brandon in
the back room and both think that it odd that they are there
together. Lexie is upset as Brandon tries to calm her down and
assure her that it is all over. She feels like it is just the
calm before the storm. He reminds her that Isaac is Hope's baby
and she is torn and doesn't know what to do. She is afraid that
when the truth comes out, Hope and Bo will want both of the boys
to raise but Brandon assures her that would never happen. Nicole
(who has seen them) interrupts them and tells them that their
scene doesn't look good. They cover and tell her that they are
catching up on hospital gossip. Nicole doesn't buy it, but goes
on to tell Brandon about seeing their dad. Brandon gets really
angry, but Nicole tells him that he left town. She leaves as
Lexie questions Brandon about their father, but he doesn't want
to talk about him.! He changes the subject and tells her that she
can't tell Abe the truth about the babies, because he wouldn't
understand. She gets upset all over again as Brandon takes her
hand. (Hope and Greta see this and think that perhaps there IS
something going on between them). Earlier, Greta had already
wondered if anything might be going on between them and Hope had
poo-poo'd the idea. Hope tells Greta that she wants to know about
her past as Gina. Greta talks about her memories of her mother as
a child and Hope wants to hear more. As Greta recalls memories,
Hope gets a bit misty, telling Greta that she doesn't remember
her mother (for those of you who don't know, Hope's mother was
Addie Horton Williams and she was struck by a car and died while
trying to save Hope, who was just a baby). Greta talks about how
she misses her mother and Hope questions her about her father.
Greta tells her about Gina's deathbed revelation (but doesn't
tell her WHO is her father). Nicole comes by and i! mmediately
insults them (she tells Greta maybe she should switch over to the
other side, since she has no luck with men) and flounces off.
Back with Lexie and Brandon, Nicole prances over again and tells
them that Hope and Greta has seen them and that now everyone will
know about their affair. Lexie gets offended as Nicole tries to
joke about it. Lexie excuses herself and on her way out stops by
Hope and Greta to do damage control. She ends up getting upset
with Hope for what she was thinking, to which Hope immediately
apologizes. She notices that Lexie is really upset and offers to
talk with her, but Lexie refuses and excuses herself and leaves.
Hope and Greta talk about all the stress she has been under over
the baby ordeal. Hope turns the conversation back toward Greta
and asks her point blank what Gina told her about her father.
At The Deveraux House
Jen is looking at a book about Africa and has flashbacks
about her time there. She remembers being with Colin (who we see
for the first time today). They are sitting by a fire and talk
about various things. He calls her father (Bill Horton) a hero.
Jen closes the book and says that she doesn't want to think about
Colin OR her father. She has more flashbacks as Colin tells her
about his friend Suzanne who died of leukemia and how he vowed to
help children. He asks why SHE came to Africa and she tells him
about Jack. In real time, Jack snaps her out of her daydream and
apologizes for starting the fight earlier, and she apologizes as
well. But, he doesn't accept her apology and says that just
because her father was a philanderer, doesn't mean he is, which
touches a nerve with jen. They argue over their broken marriage
and whose fault it was. They talk about how Bill let her down,
but yet, she is willing to work on THAT relationship, but not
theirs! He is upset as he leaves. Jen beats herself up over not
understanding her own feelings. She has more flashbacks of her
and Colin talking about Jack. Then she is upset with herself for
chasing after Colin to Ireland. She says that she isn't going to
waste her time anymore over things she can't have. She thinks
that maybe she should work on her relationship with Jack.
Perfect Timing
Well, isn't it ironic (only in soapland) that while Jen makes
this decision, that guess who shows up in Salem, you got it,Colin.
popShawn is waiting on him by the side of the road in the middle
of nowhere. He welcomes him to Salem and tries to talk him into
returning to the pub to let his aunt Caroline spoil him. He
refuses to go because he is afraid for his life. Shawn assures
him that Stefano is out of the picture and that he will be safe.
But Colin says that the devil never dies, he only goes into
hiding. Shawn doesn't want him to hide anymore and tries to talk
him into going with him. Colin tells him it isn't because he
doesn't want to, but he can't, and the credits roll.
