Show #9096**
Tape Date: 6/19/01
Director: Phil Sogard
A new day in Salem brings big trouble for Mimi and Jan...a new
home for the Carvers... and heartbreak for both Philip and Chloe.
The Carvers Move Into DiMansion and are greeted by the staff,
Eliana, Rolf, Bart and Cookie. Abe takes one look at the servants
and can't handle it and storms off. Lexie hands Isaac off to
Eliana and chases after her husband. She tries to convince him to
stay. She pleads her case and they return. He gets po'd
immediately upon returning, thinking that Bart was eavesdropping
on them (which he WAS). Rolf introduces the staff, including
himself as "Rolf, the major-domo of the estate" and
"Bartleby, the butler, chauffeur, assistant chief of
protocol and general factotem" (LOL at Bart who says "what?")
The staff all leave Abe and Lexie alone (as Rolf and Bart
eavesdrop from the den). They argue again as Abe is ready to
storm off again. Lexie convinces him to stay but he says that he
is very uncomfortable and unhappy there in Stefano's house,
surrounded by his goons. She tries to convince him that it is for
Isaac's protection. She promises him that when Stefano returns, t!
hey will move back home. Abe still isn't convinced until Lexie
begs him and then turns on the tears. He finally caves and says
they can stay if it will give her peace of mind. After Abe leaves
for work, Rolf and Lexie chat and he informs her that he knows
ALL of Stefano's secrets, even the baby problem and assures her
that she can trust him. Rolf mentions the possibility of Glen and
Barb having a DNA test done on JT and talks frankly about the
baby switch. He warns Lexie that Abe should be kept in the dark
about all they know. Lexie becomes very uncomfortable and tells
him so. He pledges his total dedication and devotion to her as he
does her father. If she needs him for anything, he will be there
for her. Rolf and Bart talk privately about watching out for her
and they discuss what would happen if she knew the whole truthÖlike
Stefano switching the babies and why. In the den, Eliana brings
Lexie tea and a Danish. Lexie says that she could get used to
this life. She takes a ! look around the den and thinks with a
few changes, this could be home.
Meanwhile, Glen and Barb are 'hard' at itÖtrying to make their
own baby. She wants him to forget about his "other"
son, they left behind. He starts again about how he is sure that
was his son and Barb doesn't want to hear it. He asks her about
the other DNA test and she flashes back to throwing it in the
trash. She wishes (to herself) that she hadn't done that.
At The Penthouse
Brady and Belle talk about the events of the previous night.
Belle asks if Brady has talked to Chloe and he tells her that he
tried. Belle tells him about seeing Philip at the pub and how
crushed he was over what happened. They talk about how hurt she
was and Brady says that she will probably never forgive Philip.
Belle says that she saw how much Philip really loves Chloe and
Brady asks if Chloe feels the same. He says that Chloe didn't
know Philip and isn't sure that she ever did. He says that she is
dogmatic and won't forgive him. Belle points out that the
situation is a lot like how Brady feels about Marlena. She notes
that Chloe and Brady have a LOT in common. Brady asks if Chloe
has been talking about him. Well, give Belle the Salem brain
today, as she figures out that Brady has a thing for Chloe and
calls him on it. He, of course, denies it. He changes the subject
and asks her about her summer plans. She tells him about going on
the trip and! he asks if a certain Shawn Brady has anything to do
with her decision. He says that it sounds like love is in the airÖbut
not for PhilipÖChloe is going to drop him like a bad habit.
At the Cop Shop
Mimi is being grilled by Roman and the District Attorney.
They inform her that they have her fingerprints on the slides and
the website is registered in HER name. She becomes hysterical,
saying that she was set up. Jan enters with her lawyer (Cameron
Reese) and Mimi says "by HER" and points at Jan. Jan
says that she is innocent and that Mimi has no proof. Mimi vows
that if she is going downÖso is Jan. Roman asks if they know
just how many laws they violated and informs them that they are
in BIG trouble. They proceed to blame each other and the lawyers
ask for time alone with their clients. Roman and the DA leave as
Jan and Mimi almost get in a catfight. The lawyers break them up
and Mimi claims to have a witness who can prove Jan's involvementÖKevin
Lambert. Jan finally admits her involvement and claims that she
didn't know what they did was a crime (DUH). As Roman and the DA
return, Mimi throws her hands up, telling them to cuff her and
lock her a! wayÖthat she is a joke anyway (LOL). The lawyers
leave to talk with the DA and ask Roman to keep an eye on "Thelma
& Louise" (LOL). Roman asks (in his usual manner) "What
da HELL were you 2 thinking?" he tells them that they are in
big trouble and it wouldn't hurt to say a little prayer right now.
He leaves them alone and they argue. Finally, Jan admits that she
doesn't know what to do now. They both admit that they are scared.
In the hallway, the DA and the lawyers are arguing. She intends
on throwing the book at them and making an example of them.
At the Hospital
Craig has a visitor, it's Philip, who is seeking his help. He
wants to talk about Chloe and what happened. He wants Craig to
talk to Chloe for him, but Craig won't do it. Philip explains
that he jumped to the wrong conclusion and is very sorry and if
he could, he'd take it all back. Craig tells him that he DOES
need to talk with Chloe, but not right now. He says she needs
time to heal. Philip can't wait though. He gets an idea and
hurries off.
At the Wesley House
Mickey Horton shows up. He and Nancy talk about what happened.
An upset Chloe comes down as Nancy tries to explain why she
called Mickey. But Chloe has no problem with it and is more than
happy to cooperate. He informs them that the authorities have two
suspects in custody right nowÖJan Spears and Mimi Lockhart. He
tells them that if the DA doesn't press charges, Chloe can still
file a civil suit. She isn't interested in money, she just wants
them to be punished for what they did. The doorbelle rings and a
messenger arrives with a package for Chloe. Nancy gives it to her
and she takes it up to her room. Inside, there is one red rose
and a videotape, with an unsigned note. She pops in the tape and
it's Philip professing his love for her and offering his apology
for what he has done. He says that she is probably better off
with out him and that she taught him what matters in life, but he
is too much of a spoiled rich brat to see those things. He ! is
just happy to have met someone like her. He tells her that if
there is anything he could ever do for her he would be honored
just to be a friend. The tape ends with him crying and turning
off the camera. Nancy's little poodle (is it's name Sugar?) comes
in and hops on the bed with Chloe. As she strokes the dog, she
says she never even told Philip that she loved him, so why is she
missing him so. She says that she knows he loved her, she felt it.
A sad-faced Chloe looks on as the credits roll.

Show #9097***
Tape Date: 6/19/01
Director: Phil Sogard
Jan and Mimi hear the cold facts, Philip and Brady chat over
Java, Jen visits Hope, Barb finds out the truth and Lexie runs to
Brandon again.
Brandon & Lexie At The Blue Note
At the Blue Note, Brandon's sitting alone, remembering how he
promised Lexie that he'd back off the lawsuit against Abe. He has
a better plan as he sees Lexie walking in and waves to her. She
tells him about moving into Stefano's and he guesses Abe wasn't
happy about it. She tells him Abe did it only because he loves
her. She hopes their marriage is strong enough to endure all of
this. She fears they'll see more of Glen and Barb if they had a
DNA test done on JT and learn he's Glen's son. She says Glen's
not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but even he would figure
that the baby's were switched. Lexie loosens up and Brandon asks
her to dance (just what time is it that the Blue Note is open and
they're dancing already?) As they slow dance, Lexie tells Brandon
she loves Abe, but doesn't trust him. As they continue to dance,
Brandon said he would stand by her and keep his family intact if
she were his! wife.
Jen Visits Hope
Jen arrives at Hope's and finds the Salem Chronicle folded on the
sidewalk (no rubber bands wasted in Salem). She picks it up,
seeing the headline banner about the scandal at Salem High. She
shows it to Hope and Shawn walks up carrying JT (oh my gosh, a
normal household?) saying they had a front row seat. (just where
the heck is Bo?) Jen's worried about when Abby goes to school,
but Shawn tells her their teacher suggested their class make a
difference, so all should be good by the time JT and Abby go to
school. Jen tells them she came to talk about Gram. After
assuring them Gran is okay, she tells them about the ruby story.
Hope can't believe Gram's been holding that in all those years
and they all agree they have to help Gram find it. Jen says Gram
still walks around looking for someone who might be wearing her
ruby. Shawn's nose, and then Hope and Jen's, cues them it's time
to change JT as Shawn offers to do it and ! heads upstairs to his
room. Jen comments that Shawn is a prince! Jack would have turned
on a ball game or whatever to get out of changing Abby. Hope asks
Jen how's it going living with Jack. She names off problems Jen
might be having, but Jen tells Hope that Jack is being perfect.
Well, she agrees he's not perfect, she just can't find any
complaints about him. Jen does admit she can't stop thinking
about Colin though. Hope reminds her that Colin blew her off
after she followed him to Ireland and how the father of her child
is desperately trying to win her heart back and suggests Jen give
him a second chance. Jen doesn't agree and tells Hope about Greta
being there, but knows there's nothing going on with them.Upstairs
Shawn has a heart to heart with JT about girls (cute talk). He
flashes back to dancing with Belle at the dance and tells JT how
beautiful she looked. (My guess is JT is watching his real mom
offstage as he's laughing and clapping during their talk.) Shawn
is ad! orable with his baby brother as they talk and agree
they'll have all their talks there on that bed as Mom's are too
mushy. As he's changing JT's diaper, the mystery can falls on the
floor and blue smoke comes out of it (maybe it's a genie, haha?).
Shawn stares at the can as he holds his brother on the bed above.
Philip & Brady At Salem Place
Philip sees Brady and tosses the football to him (haven't these
kids learned how dangerous that is there?) Brady catches it and
Philip comments how well he's doing, then apologizes to him. He
tells Brady they're family and he should have known Brady didn't
do anything wrong. Brady remembers Victor asking him to keep
Philip away from Chloe. He tells Brady about seeing Dr. Wesley
and he suggested he stay clear of Chloe for a while, so he sent
her a video tape instead. Brady tells Philip maybe he should just
realize he and Chloe are from two different worlds and call it
quits. Philip disagrees, but is happy he sent the tape and tells
Brady what a better person he is now that he's met Chloe. He
hopes he and Chloe can still be friends and Philip tells him
he'll find someone else. Philip tells him he doesn't want anyone
else, Chloe is the only one he wants for the rest of his life.
Brady tells Philip to sl! ow down, he's ready to check himself in
a retirement home (LOL) and he's only 16. Philip corrects him,
he's 17. Philip figures after one more year in high school, maybe
he'll never come back (contract renewal time then?). Brady tells
Philip he has to make a decision to break it off and avoid any
more heartache. Philip agrees to think about it and heads off
with his ball. Brady tells Philip he knows he's right and HE
knows what Chloe needs (him?).
In Chloe's Room
Chloe is in her room and takes the tape out of the vcr. She's
wearing a pink dress and hair band. A knock at the door turns out
to be Belle, who Chloe had called and asked over. She thanks
Belle for coming and Belle reaches up and hugs Chloe, glad she
did call her and telling her she's one of her best friends.
Belle's upset one of her friends was responsible for what
happened, but Chloe knows Mimi is just a follower and Jan was the
leader. She tells Belle they're both going to pay for it though
She tells Belle about the attorneys involved (they don't waste
time in Salem) and how she'll (Chloe) need to give a statement.
Belle just realizes the seriousness and asks if prison time may
be involved (Shawn mentioned that at the pub to Mimi, remember?).
Chloe assures Belle she doesn't want Jan and Mimi to go to
prison, but she wants them to endure the same embarrassment she
did, but won't go into details. She asks Belle how her ! date
with Shawn went and Belle tells her good, but not to change the
subject. Chloe called her to show Belle the rose Philip sent and
Belle tells her not to fall for it. She then shows the video to
Belle, saying Belle is the only one she'll ever show it to. We
don't see the video again, but the gals talk about it afterward.
Belle tells Chloe that she was pretty suspicious about her summer
job and it's being embarrassing, even Shawn wasn't sure at first
about the website. Belle explains that sometimes guys say
something without thinking and that's why their (her's and
Chloe's) brains have to work harder, haha.) If she took
everything Shawn said seriously, they'd never have gotten to the
dance with him. Belle thinks Philip meant everything he said on
the tape and that Chloe should give him a second chance.
At The Jail
Cameron Diaz blasts Jan and Mimi about the stupid stunt they
pulled, asking what possessed them to do it. Jan turns around say
they're not the one possessed and it's all Chloe Lam-o's fault
they're in this trouble (oh puleez Jan). Cameron warns them
they're facing prison time. The girls start a screaming match
blaming each other as Cameron threatens to separate them. She
informs them that their parents agreed she should represent both
of them (imagine Mimi's parents are thrilled with legal fees now).
She gives it to them with both barrels and tells them damage
control is the key right now. She asks if they know anyone who
could get Chloe to speak up on their behalf. They both look at
each other and say "no way". LOL. She tells them the
judge could give them probation up to 15 years in prison. Jan
actually looks a little nervous now. Cameron figures they're
admitting their guilt, their age and no prior offenses should
rule! out the maximum sentence. They could get 3-5 years and at
their age, 1 week in prison would feel like an eternity. She
tells them that being they both pled guilty, there won't be a
trial, just a hearing. The DA will plead her case and Jan asks if
it'll be like on Law and Order where Cameron will plead how this
was their first offense and they're sorry, yadda yadda (she
literally said that, haha). Cameron tells them with current
events of shootings, etc., they're tougher on minors now and
treat pranks, etc., more seriously. The DA comes in and the two
women argue in the room in front of the girls. The DA is anxious
to get it on the judge's calendar and wants some time served. The
girls are silently freaking out in the background as they
overhear and Cameron promises a fight. Cameron apologizes they
heard that and promises to do whatever she can to keep them out
of prison. Jan even says please asking for her help.
At Barb & Glen's
Barb is upset she threw out the lab results without looking at
them. She searches for the trash basket and Glen walks in with an
empty one (only wearing his black boxers). She asked if he just
took out the trash (well duh, but the fact he did it in his
boxers is more surprising being it's in the alley). He asks her
to join him in the shower and she agrees to after throwing some
stuff in the dryer (as he heads to the shower and her to the
garbage cans and starts thrashing threw the bins). She finally
finds the envelope and after opening it, realizes that JT was
Glen's son and figures out about the baby switch in the hospital.
She remembers how JT was sick and his scar and while trying to
realize what to do, Glen walks in wearing his towel around his
waist and glistening from water on his upper body (water or oil ;-)?
She tells him she has junk mail in her hand. He asks her if she
missed out on a FOURTH round, th! is time in the shower, for junk
mail. (figures, the only sex on the show is by them, haha) She
thinks she's pregnant and mentions the Salem baby incident again.
He asks her to drop it and remembers how JT cried all the time,
not knowing if he could handle that. He can't believe that Marlo
betrayed him. Barb tells Glen there's something she needs to tell
him as the credits roll.

Show #9098***
Tape Date: 6/20/01
Director: Mary Madeiras
Kate wins this round, Fay and Abe chat while Lexie and Brandon
dance, a decision is made for what to do to Mimi and Jan and Paul
Mendez is seen for the first time.
At The Diner
Inside the diner, Kate comments that Columbo is back (Roman) and
Faye goes to fill their coffee cups and take Abe and Roman's
order. She informs them that Chicken Fried Steak (Abe's favorite
Blue Plate Special) is on the menu for the day. Roman's beeper
goes off and he forgot his cell in the car, so he orders the
special and heads outside. Fay takes the opportunity to sit with
Abe and get caught up. She can tell he's unhappy. We come back to
learn he's told her about moving into the DiMera mansion and
Fay's surprised Lexie made him do it if it makes him that
uncomfortable. She asks if he and Lexie aren't getting along.
Philip tells himself he needs his mother's help. He goes in the
diner and asks Kate if she can take a break from flippin' burgers
to talk to him and she tells him she's busy if he continues that
attitude. He apologizes and she tells the owner she's taking a
break and her tables are all served. He tells her to make it
quick as he's not running a waitress country club, LOL. She and
Philip head outside. He tells her that her dress almost falling
off at the dance didn't compare to what awful thing he did and
tells her about it. We come back to Roman saying hi to them as he
walks back into the diner. Philip asks his mother what he should
do. He knows he's older and more independent, but would like to
have her living in the same home with him. Kate gives him a
reality check and tells him she's fortunate that the other
waitress lets her sleep in her spare bedroom. Philip is disgusted
with Kate's life right now and vows to talk to his father about
this and leaves (as Kate smiles)! .
At The Blue Note
Meanwhile, while Abe and Fay chat, Abe's wife is dancing with
Fay's son at the Blue Note (she was so anxious to keep Isaac, but
doesn't spend much time with him, does she?) She moans to Brandon
about how much she loves her son with all her heart and vows no
one else will ever know the real truth. She goes on about how she
trusts Brandon more than her husband and he asks how she can do
that. She goes on about how much she loves Abe and what a good,
decent man he is. Brandon bites his tongue about that. Lexie
reminds him that when Brandon was young, Abe wasn't married and
his mother was lonely with his father in prison. He asks how she
knew his father was in prison. We come back to her having checked
on Issac as they continue their conversation. She tries to
convince him that it was understandable that his mom might have
leaned on Abe, but he insinuates that Abe took advantage of his
mom and left her. She defends Abe, but states it is ancient hist!
ory. Brandon tells Lexie that his father knew that his mother was
seeing Abe and beat up on his mother and him. He didn't beat up
on Nicole, but made her do things. Lexie asks what things, but
Brandon doesn't say. She said friends tell other friends
everything. He asks if she's really his friend being he knows
about Hope's baby and then warns her that Abe is not the person
he pretends to be.
Elsewhere
Meanwhile, a man meets with his probation officer (we know it's
Brandon's father). He's been in town a week and gets a lecture
about reporting late. The probation officer knows Paul's wife (and
kids) use his wife's maiden name, Walker, and probably won't take
him back in. Paul tells the officer he's going to do it "right"
this time around.
In Chicago
Glen asks Barb what she wants to tell him and asks if it's about
the baby, being she thought she was pregnant. He gets turned on
again and she asks how it was with Marlo (nice timing Barb, ha!).
He said Marlo was wild and it was fun for a while, but the booze
and drugs took over and wished he could have helped her with that.
She asks if he did really have a baby with Marlo, would it be
that important to raise that kid. Glen says yes, but why is she
asking that now? She shuns it off and heads out to get her
leopard nightie he likes so much out of the dryer and suggests he
put on that cologne she loves. (Do these rabbits ever stop, it's
the middle of the day, don't either of them work???) She goes out
to the trash bin and throws the lab test in the garbage (without
tearing it up of course).
Titan
Victor holds Philip's picture, knowing what Kate's little scheme
was all about at the last Blast. He calls a business acquaintance
asking if he knows the owner to the Hudson Street Diner and asks
he have Kate fired. Philip arrives and asks to talk with him. He
tells Victor about Mimi and Jan setting Chloe up and he was wrong.
Victor figures Chloe probably won't forgive him and to cut his
losses and move on. He tells his dad he needs to get away for a
while and maybe the environmental school trip would be a good
idea. Naturally Victor is for the idea being Chloe won't be on
it, but Philip won't do it until his mother is taken better care
of, NOW. Victor agrees to help Kate if Philip agrees to stay away
from Chloe. Deal. Philip leaves and Victor calls Kate
congratulating her for winning this round. She doesn't even
pretend to be surprised and agrees to meet him in his office at 5:00
p.m. He figures Kate is in for a rude awakening and Philip will
have to live! with it. Outside Philip wonders how he'll get
through the whole summer without seeing Chloe.
Back At The Diner
Back at the diner, Roman and Kate banter while Abe and Fay talk
quietly at his table. He lets her know he'll be there for her if
she needs him. He knows Paul's getting out of prison. She figures
she'll be one of the targets of Paul's rage. He offers to help
her, but she tells him that's the way it started last time and
look what happened. She wishes Brandon would understand Abe
helped her though a bad time and Abe asks if that was all it was
and why did SHE push HIM away and end it? She tells him his
coffee is getting cold and walks away.
The manager has some bad news for Kate, she's fired. She demands
an explanation, but he won't tell her why. Fay turns and sees
Paul walk in the diner. She panics and says OH NO.
The Teen Scene About The Smoking Can And Lawsuit
Belle continues pleading with Chloe to take Philip back. His
apology won Belle over, but Chloe is still upset Philip wasn't
there for her when they showed those slides. How could he love
her after what he did (or didn't) do. Belle saw Philip's eyes on
the tape and feels he does love Chloe and urges Chloe not to
throw his love away. Chloe said she didn't, Philip did.
A replay of Shawn dropping the can and the blue smoke coming out.
He grabs JT and dashes him out of the room, then returns by
himself, opening the window to clear the smoke and picks up the
can. He opens it and another can falls out with the message
"Did it get you dizzy, Desi" on it. (it sounds like he
says "Did it make you I-Z Desi", I had to go to a
closed caption vcr to make sure, haha) He figures it had a
chemical that turned into smoke when it hit the air in it and
calls someone saying it's an emergency and he has to see them
right away. Big surprise, he shows up at Chloe's where Belle is
and tells them about what happened. ROFLMAO as Belle laughs off
what he tells them and asks if a blue genie popped out singing
and dancing and what sex it was. She and Chloe giggle at that. He
pulls the cans out of his backpack and Chloe reads it (clearly
this time) and Shawn asks for a can opener to open the other can
with. Belle tells him to take the can to his father, but Shawn !
feels it's a message from the past and his destiny to open it.
Belle comments about here we come merchant marines, ships ahoy.
Chloe answers the door to find Shana Lawson, Asst. DA. She asks
Chloe how she wants to proceed as Nancy said it was up to Chloe.
(where are Nancy and Craig?) Chloe asks if Shawn and Belle sit in
on their talk and Shana agrees (yeah, let the teens make all the
decisions, c'mon!) The DA tells them the maximum sentence for
putting nude pictures of minors on a website is 15 years and
Belle pleads with Chloe not to do that to Mimi (sorry Jan, no one
cares about ya!) Chloe insists they need to be punished though.
The DA said the settlement also includes any money made off the
website, which is $27,000 as of now. The DA said the site was
just a teaser and no one saw her face, but Chloe knows every
student at Salem High does now though. Chloe said if the girls
don't go to prison, she wants them to be humiliated 10x worse
than she was! She wants to use them as an example of what can
happen if you harass others, no matter what the reason. Belle
agrees, other kids get harassed for t! he wrong hairstyle or
dress size. The DA has an idea of what to do.
While Shana and Chloe talk privately, Belle suggests to Shawn
that they need to get Chloe on the summer trip to help get her
mind off what happened. Chloe and Shana come out of the living
room and all the DA says short of jail time, this is a severe
punishment. Belle asks for what they decided on as the credits
roll.

Show #9098**
Tape Date: 6/21/01
Director: Randy Robbins
Austin & Sami take Will to see Kate (who gets rehired), Paul
is waiting for Fay; Hope, Jen, Jack & Greta are at the mall,
and the teens make a decision about the can.
At Salem Place
Hope & Jen are admiring diamonds in the jewelry store window,
& Hope suggests maybe Jen will get one of the rings for an
engagement. Jen poo poos the idea, and they have a cuppa at the
Java Cafe as they talk about their men. Jen says Hope is so lucky
to have this smart, caring, wonderful, sexy guy (gee who the heck
is that?) that she is married to (Oh, she is talking about Bo,
been so long since we have seen him, I forgot Hope had a husband
named Bo) and Hope gives Jen almost the same scenario back about
Jack. The chat about Jack's attributes and flaws when they spot
Jack & Greta laughing.Greta is telling Jack all about this
question and answer program with this mean English woman (LOLOL,
sounded like the Weakest Link), when Jack tells her that there
are rules to their friendship....he has to do all the talking.
They banter and next we see them looking over want ads and joking
about some of the job possibilities. The paper blows aw! ay, they
chase it, Greta rescues it as it is about to go down a storm
drain, I think. They are sitting on the curb, laughing away, he
thanks her for saving his paper (give me a break here), and looks
up to see Jen watching, so gives Greta a quick kiss. As they get
up, he claims to now spot Hope & Jen, so they go to say
hello, Greta tripping on the way, Jack catching her, and both
having a great time laughing it up. Hope has to leave to pick up
JT, Jack the same for Abby at Day Camp, so they go together.
Greta thinks this is nice, as she & Jen can have that cuppa
coffee now....but Jen makes excuses and leaves. Greta muses that
those two are still in love with each other.
At The Wesley Home
The obligatory teen scene for the day has Belle & Shawn once
more asking Chloe what the punishment for Jan & Mimi will be,
but she only will say they will find out when they stand before
the judge. Belle is happy they won't have jail time, but Chloe
thinks this will be worse. Shawn tells the girls about finding
his gramma's ruby, and that he wanted all of them to work on that.
Shawn then takes out the can, they talk about it some more,
mentioning the blue smoke and the inscription "Did it get
you dizzy, Desi". Chloe wants to get the can opener, Belle
wants her dad to open it, Chloe takes the can, goes to another
room (kitchen, I suppose) and we hear her scream.
At The Hudson St. Diner
Austin, Sami & Will are in the car on way to diner to let
Will visit with his gramma Kate. (Will has a new look, a buzz cut
for his hair). Inside the diner, Fay is frightened at the sight
of a man who just came in, removes her apron, pleads being ill
and leaves. The owner is having a fit, having just fired Kate. He
tells her she is rehired, but Kate insists on a $.50 per hour
raise. LOL. As Austin, Sami & Will come in, the owner directs
them to a booth right behind Abe & Roman. Grampa Roman hugs
Will, and makes plans to take him to a movie on Saturday. As the
3 take their booth seats, Kate comes over, makes a fuss over
Will, enjoying the picture he made for her, then pulls Austin
aside, telling him how could be bring Sami here, when she has
spat in the face of his mother. The owner keeps calling Kate (she
is the only waitress there now) so she gets back to work. Abe
& Roman talk about Fay leaving so abruptly, Kate being f!
ired and rehired and wonder what is going on. (Salem PD are
always doing that.....wondering!) Abe leaves & Kate brings
their orders. She & Roman trade insults for a bit. Outside
the diner, Fay is in her car, flashing back to Paul beating her,
when Abe comes up, worried about her. She tells him that the only
reason she ever stopped seeing him was she was afraid of what
Paul might do to him......and to their children. Abe hopes Paul
stays locked up, it is where he belongs. (So, the police chief is
not notified about this guy's release from prison and on parole!).
Fay leaves, and Abe goes back inside. He doesn't want to leave
the diner just yet, and Roman rightly guesses Abe does not want
to return to DiMansion. Roman asks Sami if he can take Will to
their booth. (And of course, tho he is sitting right behind Sami,
he has to CARRY Will there. ) Austin & Sami agree perhaps it
was not a good idea to bring Will to the diner (gee, ya think?)
with Kate so busy and they l! eave. In the car, Austin tells a
very pleased Sami that he is falling more in love with her every
day. (Pass barf bag) They almost kiss, when Will reminds them
they promised him to go for ice cream.
At Fay Walker's Home
Fay comes in, & as she closes the door, Paul comes behind
her, hand over her mouth. He tries to kiss her. She is furious,
and he attempts to soft soap her. She asks him to leave, and he
gives her some sweet talk about having gotten his head straight
in prison, he would never hurt her, still cares about her, she is
still so beautiful, yada yada. He again kisses her and she again
pushes him off. He says more stuff, and says "tell me you
still love me" as he embraces her and Fay's eyes fill with
tears.
At Titan
Nicole comes into Vic's office, all smiles, greeting him with a
"Hi handsome". He gruffly tells her she should knock
before entering her boss's office. She is taken aback. Then asks
if he got Kate fired yet, and did the queen's head roll. Once
more Victor is very gruff, telling her that he does what he
wants, and someone he is involved with does not tell him what or
what not to do. Nicole is really surprised at this, and when
Victor asks what she wanted, she babbles about new reports, and
an ad campaign. Vic realizes something is bothering her, and she
tells him she is worried about her father. He guesses correctly
that the man already is paroled, and she says yes, a week ago.
She is worried about herself, whether she will succomb to the
things he will tell her and expect of her. Victor reassures her
she is a smart, strong woman and he will protect her. Nicole
leaves, and out in the hall, wonders why Daddy did not call her
when he has been out a who! le week. The phone rings & Kate
is calling Victor, telling him his ploy did not work. She has her
job back, he has no power and is just an old fool with a cheap
whore on his arm. Victor tells her to just make the meeting. Kate
tells him she won't miss it, and she will soon have it over him. After
Victor hangs up, he angrily says aloud that he has to get rid of
that b*tch, and "in time I will". And the credits roll.

Show #9100 **1/2
Tape Date: 6/22/01
Director: Phil Sogard
Change of pace today as the attention shifts mostly toward the
Walker/Mendez family. Also, Kate and Victor come to an agreement.
And after a year...we FINALLY find out just WHAT is in that can!
Kate arrives for her meeting with Victor, in her waitress
uniform, as she and Nicole trade insults in the hallway. She
shows herself into Victor's office to find Philip there as well.
Victor tells him to leave, but he refuses, vowing to stay and
protect his mom. Victor continues to belittle her, as Philip
stands up for and defends her. Kate thanks him and says that she
doesn't deserve a son as good as him. Victor calls Kate a
terrorist and asks for her list of demands. Philip jumps in,
saying she needs a home, new car (with insurance paid), a new job.
Kate chimes in, saying she needs health insurance too. Victor
tells her she will get an allowance, only question is, how much?
Victor tells Philip to butt out, but he reminds him that Kate ran
his company while he was in the nursing home and that he is
treating Kate this way now just to hurt her and a way of paying
her back. Philip goes on and on until Victor loses his temper and
tells him to leave, but he refuses. Kate ! thanks him but says
she can handle herself and asks him to leave. In the hallway,
Nicole questions him as to what Kate's up to. Marie has a snappy
comment for Nicole, who tells her to just shut up. It's killing
Nicole because she doesn't know what is going on in there. Kate
tells Victor to "show me the money" as she plops on his
desk. He writes a figure down and she tosses it aside, calling
him a cheapskate. But she WILL take it, for now. She also wants
some spending cash and finagles $5,000 out of him. On her way
out, she calls Nicole "cookie" saying she looks worried
and she SHOULD be.
While this was going on, the Walkers were having a pow-wow in
Nicole's office (Brandon and Nicole, that is). She had called
him, telling him it was an emergency and that they needed to talk.
She tells him about their dad being released, worrying that
Brandon would freak out. And that he does. He blows his top as
Nicole tries to calm him down. She asks him to give their dad a
chance but he refuses. He thinks that their mom should be warned
and goes to call her, but Nicole gets an important call and he
has to wait. When she finishes, he calls Fay's house. But as the
answering machine picks up, we see a trail of clothes leading to
Fay's bedroom (see more below). Nicole returns from her
confrontation with Kate in the hall and Brandon tells her that he
has to get back to work (huh?, work?) Nicole tells him that the
truth of the matter is that their mother still loves their dad
and Brandon can't accept it. Brandon calls him a sociopath and
that he had better stay away from t! heir mom. Nicole says that
Brandon is just a little boy who wants his mommy all for himself.
He loses it and grabs Nicole and shakes her. He stops himself and
storms off. Nicole says that he is just a chip off the old block.
Over at the Walker/Mendez House, Paul wants Fay to tell him that
she still loves him, but she pushes him away, repeatedly. She
tells him that she is stronger than she used to be. But he
promises that he is a changed man and professes his love for her.
He says that he knows who put him away, just so he could sleep
with his wife. Fay declares that she NEVER slept with Abe and
tells Paul to leave. But he has other plans, he wants to start
over with a clean slate. But she goes off on him pretty good,
until he turns on her, cigarette in hand. He stops himself and
apologizes as she begs him to leave. He asks for a second chance
and starts kissing on her, then undressing her as tears roll down
her cheeks. Later (after Brandon's call) she is picking up their
clothes, calling herself stupid. Paul comes out and she tells him
that should have never happened and that she isn't going back to
that life. He talks about the good old days and how they would
lie on a blanket and look a! t the stars on the empty lot next
door. She tells him that things change and there is a house there
now. He gets upset over that as he has a flashback of him and
another prisoner. They are talking about the treasure and the
other guy calls him "Desi". They hear keys and Fay
tells him about Kate. He leaves as Fay explains to her who he is.
Fay begs Kate not to move out and leave her alone, but Kate tells
her that she has come for her things and tries to pay her for
letting her stay with her. While Kate gets her stuff, Fay says
that she must get rid of him before Brandon finds out.
Over at the Lockharts, Mimi had left feeling really down earlier,
telling her mom she just might run away. Paul shows up and
introduces himself to Maureen. They chat a bit and he says he has
something really strange to ask her. He had buried something
under the bushes in their yard years ago. He tells her it has
sentimental value and wanted to return it to his wife. She asks
him if it was a can and tells him about her daughter and friends
finding it. She promises to ask Mimi about it.
Mimi runs into Philip, and she asks him not to yell at her. She
apologizes and says that she wishes she could take it all back.
He can't understand how she got sucked into this by Jan in the
first place. She tells him that she wanted to stop it but it was
too late and she was just too weak. She tells him about the
possibility of going to prison and how it's all up to Chloe.
After they piss and moan to each other a bit, she thanks him for
talking to her and leaves. When she gets home, her mom tells her
that the lawyer called and that the DA isn't pressing for jail
time. They are both excited about this and then Maureen tells her
about Fay's husband and questions her about the can. She tells
her that Shawn has it.
At the Wesley house, we get a replay of Chloe going to open the
can and screaming. Shawn and Belle rush into the kitchen but she
was only "trying to add drama to the opening of the can".
VERY funny, Chloe. She already has it open and pulls out a wad of
cotton. Wrapped inside the cotton is a key. Shawn recognizes it
as a key to a locker, like at the train station. He says that he
and Belle used to go on train trips with their folks to Chicago
and that they used to play with these keys. (Funny, but I SURE
DON'T remember any of those trips). They decide to visit the
train station. They get there and look for the locker. Chloe says
that there might be something in the locker meant for Desi. Nice
bit here (THIS spoiler appreciated it, being a die-hard Lucy fan),
as Belle says the only "Desi" she ever knew was always
yelling at Lucy for spending too much money. Shawn asks if he is
dead, and Chloe says that he will live FOREVER in reruns (Ain't
that the truth!) They find the! right locker and Chloe wants to
open it, but Belle won't let her. Shawn teases Belle and she
takes the key. She tries to stall as they urge her on. She
finally opens it and a rubber skull with clown's hair pops out
cackling. (Even made me jump) Belle almost wets her pants as she
jumps into Shawn's arms. Shawn and Chloe joke as he pulls out a
big envelope with some kind of map/diagram inside. Also inside
are polaroids of different pieces of jewelry. As the look through
them, Shawn recognizes his grandmother's ruby necklace. They all
look at each other as they realize that all the jewelry pictured
there MUST be stolen and the credits roll.
