Show #9070 (sweetened)***
Director: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 5/10/01
WOW...the dumb pills have worn off as MANY of the Salemites
finally realize what is going on with the babies. And Hattie (unknowingly)
puts herself in harm's way.
Hattie's Dream
Hattie is having a fantasy dream of she and Rolf dancing and she
is having a wonderful time. As they spin around, he turns into
Marlo's corpse. Hattie wakes up with a start, screaming. She
starts thinking about seeing the corpse at Stefano's house (flashback
time) and KNOWS it was real, no matter what Rolf told her. She
wonders who it was and why it was there. She wonders if it was
one of Rolf's ex-patients (LOL). She decides she knows what she
must do, but must be very careful. Miss Marple, eat your heart
out, she says.
Meanwhile, over at DiMansion, Stefano stops Rolf (who is off to
kill Brandon) from leaving. Rolf protests, saying that Brandon
knows the truth and must be eliminated. Stefano explains that if
something happened, Lexie would know he was responsible. Rolf
tells Stefano that he has lost his edge and by Christmas, he will
be dressed up as Santa handing out gifts to the children (and
WHAT'S wrong with that? Hmmm) Rolf points out that if Brandon
tells what he knows, Stefano's whole plan will go up in smoke.
Stefano tells Rolf to find out all he can about Brandon in the
next fifteen minutes, then call him on his car phone and takes
off.
Later, Hattie shows up at the DiMansion front door, dressed in
black and with glasses, spouting off scriptures to Eliana. (LOL
at Eliana trying to get rid of her). Rolf sees her and panics,
wondering why she is there. She tries to give Eliana a Bible and
asks her about her being in mourning. She starts talking about
the body she saw in the foyer and Eliana thinks she is nuts.
Hattie pushes her way in and is met by Rolf, now in his Dr.
Steiner get-up. Rolf explains to Eliana that Hattie is a patient
and drags her outside, demanding to know why she is there. She
tells him about the nightmare. He tells her to forget about that
body or SHE will be the one resting in peace. Hattie tells him
that she is tired of being threatened. She says that she saw that
dead body with her own eyes. To this, Rolf suggests that the good
book says "If thy eye offend thee, pluck it out". She
doesn't like the sound of that as he drags her off to talk. To
himself, he thinks things are looking up, he may still get to
kill someone today after all.
Cop Shop
Things are till buzzing at the police station as Roman and Abe
give everyone instructions. Stefano shows up to see them. (Earlier,
Rolf had called Stefano and given him the dirt on Brandon, which
he is delighted to share with Abe). He tells them that they have
a dangerous criminal in their presence (Roman says it's Stefano,
to which he calls Roman a comedian, ROFL). He tells them that
Brandon was involved in gang-related activities in Chicago which
resulted in 2 cops being killed. He tells Abe that he is worried
about Brandon spending so much time with Lexie. Abe gets upset
and goes to be with Lexie at the hospital. Stefano (his work
accomplished) goes to leave and Roman asks him what he has to do
with the Isaac/JT situation. Stefano plays innocent to any
involvement. Roman vows to find out what is going on. As he
leaves, Stefano tells him to be very careful. Roman can't wait to
share this with Bo.
The Search Is On
Philip and Shawn are in the car as Shawn questions Philip about
being grounded. (So much for being grounded, he STILL has his
car, whenever I would get grounded, that was the first thing to
go!) Philip explains the ground rules about how he isn't to see
Chloe except for school. Shawn thinks maybe it's all for the best
as Philip DOES spend too much time with Chloe. Phil gets upset
with him, pointing out that Shawn is no expert on the subject of
love. Shawn (as do I) start to see that maybe Philip is too
obsessed with Chloe. As they arrive, they see Bo's truck in the
front yard
and know something is up.
Earlier, Hope is thanking Chloe and Belle as Bo rushes in and
explains about their new lead. He tells her that they have put
out an APB on the couple and tells Hope to stay there by the
phone. Chloe mentions to Belle about how Hope would do anything
to get her child back, unlike Nancy did. Later, Shawn and Philip
are inside as they explain about how Chloe came forward with the
information. He is so excited that he grabs her and kisses her a
short kiss right on the lips (as the green-eyed monsters raise
their heads in Philip and Belle both). He thanks Chloe and Philip
and Phil says he will pass on the kiss (LOL). Philip immediately
lights into Chloe about the kiss as she says it was only out of
gratitude. But Philip aint buying it as he really shows his
jealousy. Belle jumps in and tells him to knock it off. Bo heads
back to the station and Shawn decides to go with him and help as
he hugs both Chloe and Belle again and leaves. Hope tells the
kids they can go on home now, but Belle and Chloe offer to stay
with her and keep her company. Philip decides to stay as well (since
Chloe won't leave). He gets upset with her (Belle and Hope both
hear his angry tone). They tell him it is a girl thing and he
would be bored and talk him into leaving. Outside, Philip is
still upset over the kiss and vows to find out what is going on
between Shawn and Chloe.
Bo and Shawn are in the truck and talk about the party they'll
have when they get JT home. They talk about all he has been
through, etc. They talk about gifts and toys and Shawn suggests
some sports equipment. (Shawn mentions here that he thinks JT
will be a "southpaw" or lefthanded, not sure of why
that is mentioned, but sure it will come into play sometime down
the road, since it seemed out of place in their conversation).
Shawn can't understand why someone would take someone else's and
run. Well, the dumb pills finally wear off on Bo as the light
bulb goes off and he realizes that it must have been Glen &
Barb who took JT, thinking it was Isaac.
The Truth Hits Lexie
Lexie and Brandon are still arguing about the truth as she
informs him that she does NOT intend to tell. As she is talking,
she realizes that it must have been Glen & Barb who took
Isaac. Brandon thinks that it is all too coincidental and asks
her about the lab blowing up. She admits that it was intentional.
He is disappointed in her as she declares she didn't know
anything about it. She swears that she never knew the babies had
been switched at birth. But he is sure that it was done on
purpose and that her father was responsible. Lexie defends
Stefano and says she is sure he had nothing to do with it.
Brandon tells Lexie to talk to Stefano and have him ease up on
him. She tells Brandon he has no idea who he is dealing with and
Brandon says he isn't afraid of Stefano. She begs him to keep her
secret and not to tell. Abe walks in and asks what she is asking
Brandon to promise not to tell. She tells Abe that she has
figured out that Glen and Barb have JT, thinking it is Isaac. Abe
suggests that maybe they took him to have their own DNA tests
done, and since it is Hope's baby, they won't match, so there is
nothing to worry about. Look of panic on Lexie's face as she
realizes the truth. She says OH, MY GOD, I've got to stop them
from doing a DNA test on JT! Abe looks on wondering what she is
talking about. (Not sure if he has realized what she is saying
yet or not). And the credits roll.

Show #9071 (sweetened)***
Director: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 5/11/01
Kate counsels another abused woman at the shelter, Marlena and
John talk about what was said earlier, Philip sneaks over to
Chloe's, and Belle and Jan prepare for Operagirl.net's premiere.
Warning...some of the abuse scenes might not be appropriate for
younger children.
Operagirl.net
In Jan's room, Jan and Mimi look at the website again. Jan
decides to give a $19.95 fee for a three day trial to the site (are
they planning to get more pictures later on?) and will bill
monthly after that. Mimi sighs that Chloe has the perfect body
and Jan disagrees, thinking hers beats Chloe's. Mimi has serious
concerns the site will backfire on them. She figures all the guys
will want to date Chloe. Jan figures that will change once they
find out Chloe doesn't "put out". (hmmm, will Philip's
obsessive nature turn violent towards someone after the website
reveals his beloved Chloe?) Jan comes up with a "guess who I
am" contest to get more people hitting the site. Next she'll
order a big screen for The Last Blast to show the site. Jan
suggests Mimi volunteer to work the dance so she can be there to
see it all go down. Mimi reminded her she had a date last year,
but Jan flaunts it was a sympathy date as Shawn took both her and
Belle. This year she's sure he'll just take Belle. Jan figures
she'll buy a car with the $$ from the website and mentions what a
cool "the crip" drives. Mimi defends Brady and Jan asks
why she doesn't mind calling Susan "Gigantor" then.
Mimi says Susan can lose weight, but Brady can't help walking on
canes. Jan suggests Mimi invite Brady to the dance and he can
whirl her on his canes (this girl is sooo rude, I hope you teens
out there don't encourage kids like this). Mimi says Brady is
gorgeous. Jan said he was until he was a crip.
Philip Visits Chloe
Chloe's at home, reading on her bed, when Philip is tossing rocks
(sounded heavier than pebbles to me ;-), at Chloe's windows. (so
much for his taking the grounding seriously) She smiles and heads
for the window when we hear a police radio and Philip gets a
spotlight on his face. One of the few of Salem's finest that
isn't looking for JT aims his gun at Philip, wanting to know who
he is. Philip forgot his wallet at home (no id), but Chloe comes
out and identifies him. The officer said there was a burglary
down the street the night before, asks Philip if his parents know
he's out so late and tells them they're patrolling the
neighborhood (guess Nancy and Craig aren't home?). He leaves and
Philip tells Chloe about being grounded and how he lied to his
father about needing paper for a project to come by and see her (guess
he'll put the paper on credit?) He has an important question for
her. What's going on with her and Shawn? She keeps turning to go
into the house, upset he didn't accept the thank you kiss Shawn
gave her as that. He tells her she's on the "A" list
now because she's HIS girlfriend. Chloe has had it with his
jealousy, first with Brady (who she tells him didn't kiss her
after he asks) and now Shawn, her friend. She tells him Shawn
didn't kiss Belle earlier as he probably wants their "first
kiss" to be special. He stops her and when she tells him
that he's her boyfriend and should listen to her, his tune
changes. He says she never said that before and after having her
say that he's the only one she wants to go out with, he's
satisfied and kisses her. He reminds her that she's his for life.
The Diner
Austin visits the diner and asks Faye where his mother is staying
(guess Faye doesn't get a day (or hour) off?) He reveals knowing
his mother has some health problems and asks her about them. Faye
tells him it's a female thing, fibroids. Sami walks up behind
Austin and is sorry Kate's problem isn't terminal. (c'mon Austin..everyone
else in Salem is getting their brain cells back, get a clue!)
Faye says Kate's staying with a friend and how Kate is a better
waitress than she is. Austin admits Kate has to always be the
best at whatever she does. Sami speaks up that's true, even in
murder. Austin spins around and reminds Sami he doesn't want to
hear any more of that. (why did he bring her with him?). Sami
looks surprised at that. Faye has to deliver some orders and
apologizes to Austin that she has to get back to work, but tells
him that Kate will be there to work shortly. Sami suggests Austin
take her home and come back to spend the whole afternoon with
Mommie Dearest (hmmm, the cop's asking Philip if his father knows
he's out so late, what time IS it?) Austin asks Faye to tell his
mother to call him, that he stopped by. Also that he loves her,
which draws a strange look on Sami's face.
Outside in the car Austin sticks to his guns about helping his
mom. Sami interjects about her son needing a father too. He
promises to help his mother get her life together, then he'll
focus on her and Will. Sami wants them to move out of Salem. He
can't leave his great job at Titan (when does he work?) and has
to help his mom. He does want to pursue their relationship again.
The Woman's Shelter
At the shelter, a woman with bruises on her face is there with a
young son and daughter. The kids are hungry, but the woman tells
them to be patient as they're there for help. The woman spots
Kate lying on her side asleep, but concerned as she hasn't moved
in a long time. The three of them go over to wake her up and the
woman wants to call for help, but Kate wakes up. Kate notices the
woman's bruises and although the woman says she's okay, the son
and daughter tell Kate their father drinks and beats up their
mother. Kate remembers the past when Curtis came home drunk. Kate
asks the kids to check on dinner and counsels the woman being
she's been there, done that. The woman feels her husband will
never do this again and Kate remembers Curtis apologizing to her
and saying he'll never do it again. Then he comes home staggering
again and beats her up. (Kate is on the floor, but the visual
might be disturbing to younger children.) The woman tells Kate he
doesn't hit his kids, but Kate tells her that will change once
they start talking back to him and might even convince her that
they deserved the beating. The woman gets tired of Kate's
preaching, claiming Kate's just jealous being she doesn't have a
man, otherwise why would she be there. Kate is wonderful as she
gently tells the woman to get help. The woman said it would be a
disaster, but admits having a brother. Her brother was a golden
gloves boxer though (lot of boxers in Salem, isn't there?) and
would beat the @E*(# out of her husband if he knew. Kate gives a
gentle reality check to the woman with tears running down her
face. (I think Kate would be a great counselor for abused women).
Kate tells her about being a survivor herself and leaves to go to
her job. The woman promises to move in with her brother and
thanks Kate. Kate tells her to keep her brother away from her
husband or he might kill him. (Hmmm, something for Salem cops to
deal with next?)
At The Penthouse
Brady starts to head out when John stops him, wanting to continue
their discussion with Marlena. The two discuss Marlena's reaction
earlier and we have a flashback of John's memory (see spoiler for
last Thursday for full story) from the picture and at Brady's
prompting, admits he told his mother he had never loved another
woman the way he loved her and never would. Brady goes to the
hospital to see Carl, the 24-hr. therapist. He asks for more
exercises and after Carl shows him some leg lifts, Brady does
some and admits being depressed. Carl tells him that the mental
state of mind works along with physical therapy and to tell him
what's wrong. Brady tells him he's worried about not appealing to
the female gender (flashback of Jan squealing when he fell on her
and her rude comments calling him "a crip".) He tells
Carl about some gal named Jan calling him that and all he wants
is to be normal again. Carl, the smart guy, says he doesn't think
Brady was ever "normal", LOL! He tells Brady to stop
thinking negatively and focus on the positive things he has. Stop
thinking with his head and use his heart to realize people with
degenerative and terminal diseases have it worse than him. Brady
remembers his mother's terminal disease. (I'm liking this Carl
more and more!) He tells Brady to pursue his therapy for his mom
and wants to see him using only one cane next week!
Upstairs Marlena glances at her and John's wedding picture. She
knows John will always love Isabella and if she ever forgot that,
knows Brady would remind her. She also remembers what happened
earlier and Brady's spiel about her not wanting to hear the truth.
John calls her downstairs to talk. Brady leaves, much to John's
dismay, to get some fresh air. She tells John she doesn't want to
revisit it again, about the great love of his life, Isabella. He
felt what happened gave them a better understanding about Brady's
anger and "hate". She remember when Victor brought over
those photos when Brady was 14 and wished he had never brought
them over. (In May, Brady told Chloe that he's been competing for
John's love since he was 9 years old when she told him she wasn't
his real mother). Marlena points out they say and do things that
affect their children's lives. They talk about how any child
would want to know more about their real mother. Marlena feels
anything she says will sound petty and his comment about never
loving anyone like he did Isabella. He admits that's the truth
and thought they had gotten past this five years ago. He keeps
his love for Isabella alive for Brady's sake. John sounds more
like the therapist than Marlena as he tells her that he'll never
love anyone the way he loves her (Marlena) either. He asks if she
loved Roman and was Roman and her children the focus of her life
at that time. She says yes. He asks if she loves him the same way
that she loved Roman? She tells him she did love Roman
differently than she loved him, but realizes John may think she
blamed Brady the last five years because John loved Isabella?
John says that's what Brady thinks. She disagrees, saying she
loved Brady and still wants to love him. John picks up on that
and asks if she stopped loving Brady as the credits roll.

Show #9072 (sweetened)**
Director: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 5/14/01
John & Marlena talk of Isabella, Hattie squirms out of a life
threatening situation, Belle gets upset with Brady & yes,
Phillip & Chloe are there, too.(yawn)
Somewhere Outside Salem
Glen & Barb open the door to a room (it does not look like a
motel room). Poor JT is crying as Barb tries to comfort him and
convince Glen to take the baby to the police. She does not want
to get charged with kidnapping. Glen gets Q-tips to take his own
DNA samples, puts them in a plastic bag, convinces Barb to take
them to the lab in town, and tells her she won't know where he
is, so she will be safe. He leaves with JT in the car, telling JT
that no one will ever know where they are.
Over At Dot Com
Phil & Chloe arrive, he is talking to his dad on his cell
phone, saying the paper place is next door. (This is sooooo lame)
They go inside, where they bill & coo (someone get this young
man a bottle of shampoo, please! Then a haircut!) Over in a
booth, Brady is telling Belle about the conversation at the
penthouse. He tells her the story about Isabella, the blueberry
pancakes, the glow around his mom. He then begins to rant against
Marlena, Belle defends her, and Brady starts yelling at her.
Chloe wants to go over to help, & the green eyed monster
raises his head as Phil makes comments about her & Brady.
Chloe tells him to knock it off, and they go over to try &
help as Brady tells Belle to leave. When Phil tries to talk to
him, he tells Phil to get lost, too. As Chloe & Phil try to
comfort Belle, Chloe decides to try & talk to Brady. Philip
objects, but Belle tells him that for some reason Chloe gets thru
to Brady.
And The Beat Goes On
A replay of the ending scene where John says Brady was right, and
Marlena has not loved him. They both are trying to sort through
all that has been said, and their feelings. She tries to explain
to John how these past 5 years has made her feel, that there is a
difference between a divorce and a death. In a divorce (hers from
Roman) there are some bad feelings. But not in a death. John
talks of Brady wanting to remember his mother, but Marlena tells
him she feels as tho she is living with a ghost. And John still
loves Isabella, & keeps her alive and between them.
Calling Dr. Kildare
Lexie is still thrashing around in her hospital bed, ranting how
JT must not be DNA tested (was she really injured in that
explosion?) and tries to leave. Abe is very puzzled, especially
when she tells him to leave as she wants to talk to her friend,
Brandon. (Lexie could never be a guest on "I've Got A Secret",
LOL). Abe reluctantly leaves, and Lexie begs Brandon to tell no
one of the baby switch. He hesitates, but agrees.
Where Is Robin Hood When You Need Him?
Hattie & Rolf are sitting in a car in the middle of a dark
& eerie forest. She is not comfortable at all. (I don't blame
her, it truly is creepy, especially with Rolf!) Rolf's phone
starts ringing, he refuses to answer it. They talk of her
makeover, then she mentions the body in Stef's foyer, and how she
now wants to tell the police about it. Rolf tries to warn Hattie
that it would not be wise...then puts his hands around her
throat, and starts to choke her. She gets him to stop, pretends
to accept the Halloween prank story, and then comes on to him.
Rolf gets all worked up, & wants to "ravish her" (oh,
sorry, that was so hysterical), but she says no, no, not w/o the
gold band on her finger. Now he is ecstatic - He & Hattie are
getting married! He takes her back to town. Meanwhile Stefano has
been trying to call Rolf, & Bart gets a bad feeling. Stef
demands to know where Rolf is & with who....and Bart dances
around the answers (his dialogue & delivery is so great) but
mentions Hattie. Stef can't believe Rolf would kill Hattie w/o
his permission. But Bart tells him how Rolf goes off on his own
tangents. Stef tells Bart to call Paris and tell them to get his
townhouse ready for Stef, Lexie & Isaac. Since Lexie has made
such huge blunders, it would be better for them to leave town.
Rolf comes in whistling, usually a sure sign he has done
something dastardly, but he denies it, and is very happy about
his evening. The phone rings, and Lexie tells Stefano to come
right over, it is about the baby. He says he will be right there.
The Cops Are Getting Their Smarts Back
Bo & Hope are talking with Roman at the station. Roman &
Bo ask Hope if she thinks Lexie might know something about
Marlo's death. Hope cannot believe it, but they talk of how Stef
was involved in the adoption, Marlo turned up dead, & how
close Lexie has gotten to him, and how she would want to protect
her father. Roman tells them they ARE going to find JT. Bo &
Hope leave, and the door opens. It is Hattie. She tells Roman
that she should have come some months ago, and is sorry she
didn't then......but there is this mansion owned by this guy with
a funny accent. And she saw a dead body in his foyer. And the
credits roll.

THURSDAY, JUNE 7, 2001
Show #9073 (sweetened)**
Director: Phil Sogard
Tape Date: 5/15/01
Rolf is given a reality check and Hattie's life is in danger,
Lexie vents off to Daddy Dearest and he's not happy about it and
Philip's jealousy is still unleashed at DotCom.
The Teens At DotCom
Chloe sits down to talk with Brady and tells him she
owes him. She tells him how he saved her at the hospital and he
compares it to an opera, but the woman took poison and died in it.
He says she would take poison for Philip as he's her real hero.
They both sing a little of the opera they were referring to,
causing Belle and Philip to turn and look at their table. Brady
urges Chloe to go back to Philip and Belle and they can do their
rendition of Dawson's Creek without him. They talk about why he
and Belle were upset with each other. He knows he should have
been more sensitive talking to Belle about her mother like that.
He tells her to rejoin Philip as his tongue is hanging out
waiting for her. She knows he's confused as he doesn't even want
her there to trash or pick on, he needs her. He tells her to mind
her own business, but she keeps on him about knowing he's angry.
On the other side of the room, Philip feels Brady's trying to
take Chloe away from him. Belle finally tells him he's being way
too jealous over Chloe. She tells him Shawn's kiss was one of
gratitude and all he was thinking about was his little brother.
Philip asks if Shawn ever kissed HER like that? She tells him
that's not the subject. She insists she and Shawn are friends,
they've known each other all their lives. Belle is happy the way
she is, with good grades and not obsessed. He challenges her to
ask Shawn to be her date to The Last Blast. Chloe offers to be
there if Brady needs someone to sing or talk to, even if it's to
criticize her singing. Philip walks up and tells Chloe they have
to leave or he'll get in trouble with his father. Brady mocks not
wanting Philip to get in trouble with his daddy. Chloe goes with
him after telling Brady she meant what she said. Once away from
the table, Philip insists on knowing what she meant by that
comment to Brady. She starts to walk away when he gets upset
about it, turning her around and asks her what the hell is going
on! Brady watches from the table as Belle joins him.
The Cranky DiMeras
After Lexie called wanting to see Stefano, he grunts at Rolf,
then turns around and yells at him. Stefano demands that Rolf
make sure that Hattie NEVER talks. When Rolf mentions Hattie
likes him, Stefano and Bart give poor Rolf a reality check that
he's not exactly "catnip" to women with that bad toupee.
Rolf whines about being a freak all his life and only when
working for Stefano does he feel empowered to be strong. Stefano
gives a double slap to the Rolfmeister and tells him to be a man
then and do exactly what he tells him to do! Rolf responds as if
to Hitler and says if he can't make love with the woman he loves,
he'll strangle the life out of her. Bart pops up with "mood
swing", lol, and Stefano said he never said the word "murder".
Rolf says maybe he'll just cut out her tongue then. Stefano
leaves to get to Lexie before her conscience gets the better of
her, warning Rolf not to let a woman make a fool out of him. Bart
tells Rolf how sorry he is for him. Rolf just says if she
betrayed him, she'll pay for it. Bart pops up with, "love
them and cleave them" (the writers must have fun writing his
comebacks ;-) Rolf tells him he is NOW the boss and will silence
Hattie permanently. After Rolf leaves, Bart worries Hattie led on
the wrong man.
Stefano goes to the hospital and finds Lexie packing and wants
her to get back into bed (why she's still there is beyond me).
She tells him she's afraid Glen will have a DNA test on JT and
learn the truth. She looks eye to eye to Stefano and tells him
he's going to do what SHE says and find JT before that can happen.
He orders her to sit and listen. He knows the media is being
alerted as to who the baby is. He tells her about the townhouse
in Paris being readied and they'll have to leave in a moments
notice. He informs her about someone seeing Marlo's body and may
be going to the police. She freaks as he tells her about Marlo's
body on a guerney at his house. She tells him he screwed up again
and she's not leaving the country with him. She'll take her baby
and go on her own. They argue about what can happen (this is a
hospital room, no medical staff comes in and out, even with their
shouting??). She asks who did kill Marlo if he didn't? She yells
at him, saying she thinks he killed Marlo. She insists on the
truth or this whole thing will blow up in his face, just like
that bomb at Tuscany! She tells him she'll take care of this
herself and orders him to leave. He leaves, but in the hallway,
tells himself no child of his will talk to him like and she'll
regret it.
At The Cop Shop
Meanwhile, Hattie is telling Roman about the body and fears
she'll be next. She's nervous at the cop shop, so they go to a
bench on a the street in front of the station (oh yeah, a lot
safer!!) He asks if she's ready to tell him and she smiles. He
comments how much she looks like Marlena again and she replies it
was part of the plan. (the car honkers are out in full force
again). Oops. Roman asks what plan, but she tells him it's too
personal to talk about. He gently tells her to trust him and tell
him all about it. He asks for her friend's name, but when she
won't tell him, asks if he works for Stefano. He tells her how
dangerous Stefano is and she remembers Rolf almost strangling her.
She panics saying she can't do this and needs to get out of Dodge!
Roman begs her to help him as lives are at stake (of course Rolf
found them and is listening behind the bushes). Rolf sits on
another bench and flashes back to dancing with Hattie at the Blue
Note and kissing her, wondering how she could betray him. Roman
warns Hattie that he's her only way out right now. She needs to
tell him everything or he can't help her. He has her sit on the
park bench and she tells him about his doctor, her friend, may
have been in cahoots with DiMera. Rolf tries to send Hattie a
mental warning to keep her mouth shut! He asks when she saw the
body and when she says January, he remembers (to himself) that's
when Marlo's body was stolen from the morgue. He asks if Stefano
knows where she lives and she laughs no, but his friend does.
Roman will have the Salem PD protect her (uh oh) and put her up
in the Salem Inn (of course Rolf hears all of this). She starts
crying as he hugs her, pleading with him not to let her become
another Halloween decoration. Rolf nods his head while listening.
Roman promises she'll be okay as she cries. He tells her to go to
the inn and he'll post a guard outside her room. (you would think
he'd take her inside the station and get her to tell him
EVERYTHING and on tape right away!) She doesn't feel she has any
other choice and walks away with Roman's arm around her. Rolf
looks at his gun, saying HE has a choice and will kill her.
Later an unknown Salem cop (uh oh, not a good sign) walks Hattie
to the Salem Inn (how about driving her over in a police car?, a
little safer). Rolf follows, debating how to kill her. A bullet
to the brain is too quick. Strangling Marlo was fun. Hmmmm.
In Abe's office, Hope and Bo plead with the media to spread the
word that they won't press charges, they just want their baby
back. JT's birthday is tomorrow (Salem tomorrow) and they want to
celebrate with him. The two reporters promise to do everything
they can and leave. She tells Bo that she fears there was another
reason the people who took their baby. Bo thinks once they find
out they have JT, they'll bring him back to them. She remembers
Barb saying how much JT looks like Glen at the hospital. Hope
wonders if Lexie knows more than she's saying and if Stefano knew
Marlo, maybe he knew Glen too and it's his master plan against
the Brady's to take their son away from them. Hope looks through
the blinds and sees the male reporter still there. She confronts
him as to why he's still there and he tells her he called in the
story and it'll be front page national news the next day (in
Salem that may be July). Bo promises they won't let Stefano win!
Roman joins them and tells them they finally got DiMera! He's
going to go down this time for Murder One (I'd have more than ONE
cop protecting Hattie then, wouldn't you?) as the credits roll.

Show #9074 (sweetened)**
Director: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 5/16/01
It is both JT's and Isaac's first birthday, (& not a teen in
sight) as news of JT's kidnapping is broadcast on TV, Lexie
leaves the hospital, and both Hattie & Jen try to do what is
right.
At The Carvers
Abe is holding Isaac, talking to him about his birthday
and since mommy cannot come to his party, they will take the
party to her. As he opens the door to leave, Lexie comes in....just
discharged from the hospital. She coos over Isaac a bit, then
insists she has to go see Hope, refusing to let Abe come with her.
She leaves, but goes to see Stef instead. Later, Bo arrives with
a gift for Isaac, and to warn Abe that if Glen brings JT back, he
will then come after Isaac.
Bo & Hope are sitting on their sofa,
watching the morning news broadcast of the kidnapping of their
son. They are upset, but comfort each other. They watch the tape
of their plea to the kidnappers, where they promise no charges
would be preferred, just return him. They explain about his
special needs and how today is his first birthday. Afterwards,
Hope sends Bo off, as she wants the best cop on the case and that
is him. They remember it is also their anniversary, and wish each
other a happy one. As Bo turns to leave, he returns to take Hope
in his arms, as she is crying.
At Dimansion
Stef reads the headlines in the paper about JT and is
not happy. As Rolf comes in, (minus that silly toupee &
mustache) Stef asks if he has taken care of Hattie. When Rolf
says she is still alive, Stef insists he did not ask that. He
does not want to know the hows and whys (sure wants to keep his
hands clean, huh?). Rolf tells him how Hattie is quartered at the
Salem Inn and guarded by Salem Police. Stef is very upset. Lexie
arrives, Rolf disappears, & a distraught Lexie begs Stef for
help to keep her son. (Guess she had a change of heart after
telling him to get lost yesterday) Stef admits he is not sure
what to do next as things have gotten really out of hand. Lexie
is crying as she tells Stef she believed his promises that all
would be well, and chose to trust him over her own husband. Tears
are running down her cheeks as she exclaims "What have I
done". Stef tells her she must do EXACTLY what he says, so
he "does have a plan" Lexie sobs. Yes, but it is a plan
you will not like, replies Stef.
At The Salem Inn
Hattie opens the door to the breakfast cart delivery,
disappointed that Roman is not there yet. He soon arrives,
bursting in, wanting to see the TV news. He explains the missing
child is his nephew, and that he thinks Stefano is behind it all.
He tries to talk her into testifying against Stefano, as Hattie
has flashbacks of seeing the body in the foyer at Stef's house,
and of Rolf choking her. Roman urges her to tell all she knows,
but she is reluctant. (She does not want to admit to her plan to
look like Marlena) She does not want to tell the name of the
doctor, (Steiner - Rolf) or if he worked for Stefano. Roman says
then he is outta there, along with the police protection. She
stops him, blurting out that he was her plastic surgeon. The
light bulb pops off as Roman asks if that was Stefano's idea...to
make her look like Marlena.
At The Deveraux Home
Jack is readying Abby for school, who cannot understand why Mommy
is still sleeping. She is always sleeping, and she worries Mommy
got hurt in the car accident. Jen comes in, saying she is fine. (she
looks awful). Jack sends Abby to the kitchen for juice, & Jen
asks if there is any word of JT. He tells her of the suspected
kidnapping, and witnesses to the couple taking the child. He
tells Jen he will get someone else to take Abby to school. Jen
says no....take her, and make her laugh all the way there like
you always do. Abby needs to keep her routine. Then Jen tells him
not to come back right away, as she needs to do something. Jack
is very worried, but takes Abby to school. Jen starts to make a
phone call, puts the phone back, relives JT falling from the car,
and then Hope reaming her out. She again picks up the phone,
saying it couldn't get any worse, but puts it back, & it
rings. It is Hope, asking her to come over. Jen is hesitant, but
agrees. She dresses, goes over and knocks at the Brady door. Hope
opens it.
The Fleeing Duo
Barb returns to the motel, upset about having to take
the DNA samples to a lab, maxing her credit card to do it, and
not knowing where Glen is. She turns on the TV to see the report
of the missing child. She mutes the sound as she panics about
Glen being gone, and a knock at the door causes her to scream. It
is a high school kid (Washington High School) selling magazine
subscriptions (at a motel?). She slams the door in his face....and
is very nervous. She begins to pack up, puts the TV back on.....where
she finally hears the news that the missing child is John Thomas
Brady.....not Isaac. She is stunned.....and leaves. Meanwhile,
Glen arrives at a sort of backwoods cabin, where an older woman,
who knows him, is ironing. She is surprised at the news he has a
son, scolding him for waiting so long to bring him over. Her TV
is on, but the reception is very snowy. Glen explains a bit about
his son, as poor JT is just crying his eyes out. The woman says
she is gonna change him, and then feed him, as Glen goes to the
phone, trying to call Barb. The phone is ringing in an empty
motel room. Suddenly the woman cries out to Glen, saying the baby
is not breathing, and is turning blue as the credits roll.
