(Mainly on the strength of Melissa Reeves & Frances
Reid)
Show #9065 (sweetened)
Director: Phil Sogard
Tape Date: 5/05/01
Melissa Reeves returns today to deliver yet ANOTHER
strong performance! This time, Frances Reid is there and adds
even more punch to the scenes. (WOW...another 2 hanky day). Hope
rejoins the search...as Glen and Barb plan to run. Also, has
Chloe had a change of heart?
Jack Pulls Out The Heavy Artillery
Jen is lying in the living room floor, almost catatonic. She is
trembling, crying and looks as if she is on the verge of insanity.
Jack is in the car with someone, telling them that he needs help.
He says that he has only a short list of people he could call on
and they are on that list. Who is it? You guessed it, Alice
Horton. He apologizes for bothering her so late, but she is more
than happy to help and assures him he did the right thing. They
return to the house to find Jen in the floor trembling (looks
like she is even sucking her thumb). Alice is heartbroken to see
her like that. Jack goes upstairs to check on Abby as Alice goes
to Jen. Jen tells her that she killed Hope's baby. (OMG, that is
the saddest face I have ever seen). Alice tries to help her,
offering encouragement as Jen falls to pieces and Alice holds her.
Jen blames herself and says that it should have been her that
died. Alice tells her to listen to her and assures her that it
wasn't her fault and that she did all she could. But Jen won't
listen, saying that she was responsible and didn't do enough.
Alice reminds her that there is someone who needs her, Abby. But
Jen talks about how Abby is actually stronger than both her and
Jack. She says that she is no good for Abby and that she should
be put away just like her mother was, as Alice looks on in shock.
Alice tries to reason with her and point out the differences
between what happened to her and to Laura, but Jen talks about
how Laura left her on a bus when she was little. (points to the
writing staff for remembering that). Jen says that her mother was
irresponsible, just like she is. She says all this happened
because she was trying to get back at Jack and now JT is dead
because of her. She talks about seeing her mother in the
institution and wonders if the same thing is now happening to her.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Jack sits with Abby (is that child EVER
going to sleep?) He tells her that Mommy is having a hard time
and that they are not going to bother her or ask questions. Abby
promises to "give Mommy space" (says she learned that
from Daddy). She gets sleepy and he sings to her and tells her
that he loves her. In the hallway, he wonders what he would have
done if that had been Abby in the car. His heart goes out to Bo
and Hope. He also worries about Jen and how she will ever be able
to live with what happened. Back downstairs, Jen tells Alice that
she (Alice) should be with Hope right now, not her. But Alice
says that Jen needs her too. But, Jen says, she doesn't DESERVE
her, because she killed Alice's great grandson. Jack returns to
hear Jen beating herself up. He tells her that if she isn't going
to listen to Alice, she IS going to listen to him.
University Hospital
The action continues at the hospital as Craig and Stefano try to
restrain Lexie, who is fighting them. Abe and a bunch of
orderlies/nurses rush in as well. Lexie continues to struggle
with them, but they finally get her calmed down. Craig spots
Nancy (who is watching) and asks her why she is still there. He
tells Abe and Stefano that Lexie needs rest and that one of them
can stay with her. Craig follows her into the lobby and she tells
him that she is scared as she explains about Stefano's threats.
Back in the ER, Stefano and Abe argue over who is more deserving
to stay with her as she comes to and asks what happened. She
wants to see Isaac, so Abe goes to get him. While he is gone,
Stefano tells her about babbling to Nancy and that he warned her.
Lexie wants to talk to her as well. When Abe returns, she asks
him to go and find Nancy (what is he, your servant?) and he does.
When they return, Lexie acts all concerned about Nancy and asks
her how she is. A bit embarrassed, Nancy explains what happened.
Lexie tries to cover about her babbling, by saying that she was
having a nightmare about a bomb going off in the hospital and
switching on the lights for the babies. Nancy seems to buy her
story. After she leaves, Abe asks Stefano and Lexie what the hell
is going on. He and Stefano start to argue and Lexie tells them
that they are upsetting the baby. Abe goes to change him and
Stefano congratulates Lexie on her performance. They overhear 2
nurses talking about the accident and how JT Brady could not have
survived. Both are shocked.
Earlier, Philip and Chloe are in the car on their way home. They
talk about various things and Chloe brings up the can and talk
about mysteries. They speculate what that couple on the river
bank was doing. Chloe thinks maybe they were having a romantic
picnic (they saw them picking something up). Philip thinks maybe
it was their kid. But they decide it was too late to have a kid
out. (I'm sure this will all come into play later). Chloe wants
to drive all night and changes the subject and wants to talk
about love. Philip asks her why she doesn't tell him that she
loves him and she explains that if she says the words, it will
end. She is still upset over Victor not liking her and Philip
assures her that he doesn't care, their love is forever and tells
her that they will run away if they have to. He talks about how
angry his dad is with his mom. He says that what she did was
wrong, but he loves her very much. Chloe wishes she had that same
kind of love and compassion for Nancy. He encourages her to make
up with her mom. Chloe asks him to take her to the hospital. When
they get there, it's daylight. He offers to go in with her, but
she tells him that she needs to be alone with Nancy and tells him
to go on home. Inside, Craig and Nancy meet up again and she
tells him about talking with Lexie. He tells her to go on home.
To herself, she says that something still doesn't seem right. She
turns to find Chloe standing there.
The Baby Snatchers
Glen and Barb are in the car with JT. She says that he is cold
and she is holding him close to share her body heat. She is sure
something is wrong with him and thinks he needs to go to the
hospital. He finally wakes up and is crying as they cuddle him. (You
can tell that the baby is unfamiliar with them and very
uncomfortable as he keeps crying and looking off to the side).
Barb asks how he is so sure that he is his son and he talks about
the car seat with his name on it. She doesn't understand how he
ended up on the river bank. Glen says that it doesn't matter. She
wants to let the Carvers know that he is okay, but Glen refuses.
She asks if he plans on going on the run with the baby and he
tells her yes. She says that it is a HUGE mistake to do that.
The Search For JT Continues
We get a replay of Hope's last scene from Friday as she prays for
a miracle in the nursery. Meanwhile, the search continues by the
river and they are coming up empty handed. John and Bo talk as
John tries to reassure Bo not to give up and they WILL find JT.
Bo thanks John for being there for and with him. Bo tells him
that Shawn and Hope are at home waiting for news and he just
doesn't want it to be bad. He isn't sure that Hope can handle it.
Hope comes out of the woods (now changed into jeans and a flannel
shirt), telling Bo that she KNOWS that JT is alive and wants to
be there when they find him. Bo is upset with her and wants her
to go home and get some rest, but she refuses. She wants to be
there and help with the search (now, THIS is the Hope I know). Bo
gives her an update but she is not deterred, she is SURE he is
still alive, she can feel it. After listening to the leader of
the rescue team, Bo says that it is as if he has just disappeared.
Bo continues to try and get Hope to go home, but it is in vain,
she isn't budging. She hugs Bo telling him that he is the best
husband and father (just ask Shawn) and that someday, JT will
know it as well. She also hugs John and thanks him for being such
a good friend. John tells them that JT lucked out when he got
them as parents. A child could NOT have picked a better mom, OR
dad and punctuates it by saying "I mean it". Bo and
Hope hug as the search continues. The rescue team returns and
tells them that there is absolutely no sign of JT. They asks what
does he think and he says that if he had to say, it was as if
someone found him and took him. Hope is thrilled by this news,
saying "I knew it, he's alive...he's ALIVE!!!", and the
credits roll.

Show #9066 (sweetened)
Director: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 5/07/01
Nancy and Chloe have a heart to heart talk..Hope goes to comfort
Lexie and JT lets out a loud cry that everyone hears...will they
find him before Glen drives off???
Down By The River
Hope is happy about JT's body not being found. The Fire Chief is
confident there is no trace of the body or car seat and wants to
lift the media black out. John and Bo insist it's too soon
because if the baby was taken, they need to search for any trace
of who might have taken him. Hope wants to help, but Bo
encourages her to either go home and sleep or check on Lexie,
he'll call her cellphone if they find anything. (She was a cop at
one time, isn't she trained to search too?) She agrees.
At The Hospital
Chloe finds Nancy and tells her she had been there earlier, but
left because the nurses said she was resting. Nancy remembers
hearing Chloe laugh with the nurses about her belch, but doesn't
say anything about it. Nancy walks away and hides in a room, but
Chloe follows her. When Nancy is told Chloe is there because of
something Philip said, she gets irritated and asks Chloe if she
still blames all her unhappiness on her mother, which of course
irritates Chloe. They continue their endless argument, injecting
more witticisms in it. Nancy tells her daughter she knows about
her high IQ, but reminds her she was only 3 years older than her
while pregnant with her. Chloe continues her nasty come backs and
Nancy has enough and tells Chloe she's given up and doesn't care
about her anymore. She'll treasure the memory of how her daughter
stretched after being born, period. Chloe's eyes fill us and she
asks Nancy if she doesn't love her anymore. Nancy tells her she
won't LET her love her. The more she tries to reach out to her,
the more Chloe hates her. Hate destroys the person who hates.
Chloe admits hating Nancy for giving her away. She spent her
whole life wondering why her mother gave her away and then she
did find her and all of her dreams came true. She doesn't know
why she says and does what she does. She can't even tell Philip
she loves him. Nancy broke her heart. Nancy wants to try and
correct that, maybe if they try communicating. Chloe suggests she
start by communicating about who her father is. Nancy tells Chloe
they have to resolve their own relationship before she tells her
who her father is as she'll need her mother when she learns who
her father is. Nancy realizes Chloe is nasty at her because of
her anger against her, while she was upset because Chloe was
nasty to her. The two are finally honest with each other and
agree to start over fresh. Chloe rushes to leave as Nancy felt
they were making progress. Along out in the hall, Chloe tells
herself it just hurts so much mom (that's a start).
Elsewhere In The Hospital
A replay of Stefano and Abe arguing about Stefano's presence as
Abe takes Isaac off to be changed. Stefano and Lexie overhear the
nurses talk about JT's disappearance and she loses it again. She
tells them to get Abe and they both rush off . Abe quickly rushes
in and tells the one nurse about her great job of keeping Lexie
calm (the nurses at the hospital, between laughing at Nancy's
belch nearby and talking about JT so loud aren't very sensitive..is
there a protocol around patients about this kind of talk?). Lexie
freaks out and comments how first Marlo was in the river and now
her baby was. Stefano's face is priceless as he listens to Lexie
telling Abe all of this, lol. Once she calms down and realizes
what she says, Abe thinks she's just out of it.
At the hospital, Stefano remembers Rolf's logic to him for
blowing up so many places while Abe questions him in the hall.
Stefano claims he's innocent. Abe promises to find out the truth
and may offer an award.
Hope arrives and pulls back the curtain and the two hug as Lexie
tells Hope how sorry she is for her. Hope tells Lexie they didn't
find a body and are still looking for him. She won't rest until
she finds the person responsible for all the terror the night
before. She also promises to help Lexie with the custody problem
too, which tears Lexie up even more. Lexie shakes her head,
saying Hope doesn't deserve what's happening to her and she can't
do this. Hope watches confused, asking what she means. Lexie
covers saying she can't let Hope go through this without her.
Hope is sympathetic about all Lexie's going through and learns
the lab was blown up and she'll have to go through all this
waiting again. (If only she knew).
Hope leaves and Lexie wipes her wet face as Stefano rushes in
saying he hopes she didn't slip to Hope. Lexie hopes he goes to
hell for what he's done. Lexie can't keep Hope's real baby after
all she's gone through, but Stefano tries to convince her
otherwise. She finally breaks down saying she can't lose Isaac.
He figures in time she'll learn not to hate herself for this and
get her priorities straight and be a true DiMera. Lexie looks a
little shocked at that. Out in the hall, Abe promises Isaac to
never let him down as he hugs him.
Back At The River
John and Bo talk about how Stefano may be involved and Bo wonders
if Stefano was JT's father and was at Tuscany as a cover to take
the baby (close, but no cigar Bo, and John tells him as much). Bo
remembers Stefano running out of Tuscany, but John tells him he
did that to save Maggie. The Fire Chief shows them the list of
the places bombed the night before and John picks up on the East
Side Lab where the DNA test was. John figures Stefano blew up the
lab to avoid Lexie losing Isaac and they know Stefano doesn't do
things half way. John insists Stefano's not JT's dad and Bo
wonders how John knows this. John remembers Stefano's warning and
tells Bo that if Stefano were JT's father, he would have claimed
him as fast and as publicly as he did when he learned Lexie was
his daughter. (sure thinks fast for not sleeping in so long) Bo
figures John is right about that and accepts that. Although
Stefano probably caused the bombing the night before, he couldn't
have planned JT's disappearance. John figures good old fashioned
police work (totally new concept in Salem) is needed.
Hope rejoins Bo (sure looks dark for being daylight) and asks for
an update.
In Their Car
Glen and Barb argue about keeping the baby (who's being VERY
quiet). He doesn't want to give him back, but Barb tells him
they'll be accused of kidnapping. She reminds him of all the
people with spotlights the night before and everyone is looking
for the baby. They scan the radio channels and don't hear
anything about a missing baby. Barb whips out her cell and tries
to call the Salem PD to tell them about the baby. Glen warns her
their marriage is over if she does anything but inquire about
what happened at the bridge. Glen tells JT he's going to rename
him after himself and the baby starts crying (don't think he
liked that idea Glen!).
Barb investigates by the river in a red baseball cap and
sunglasses and asks John (now alone) what happened. He tells her,
but then asks why she's so curious. If she's a reporter, there's
a media blackout about this and warns her. She promises she's not
and we hear JT crying, as do Barb, John, Bo and Hope. Hope starts
crying, realizing someone found her baby as the credits roll.

earning a 3rd star for this episode)
Show #9067 (sweetened)
Director: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 5/04/01
A new day has dawned at last in Salem - the teens are back in
school with the obligatory daily Chloe/Phillip scenes, Shawn is
having a hard time, Brandon visits Lexie, & it's John's turn
to have swallowed the dumb pill as the search for JT continues.
At The Deveraux's
Jen once again is having a nightmare of JT falling into the river
and Gran wakes her and tries to reassure her. Jack arrives home
and debates whether to go in. He has a flashback of saving Jen,
and decides to go in, overhearing Jen telling Gran how brave he
was and she never would have had the courage to save herself if
not for him. Alice tells her it is lucky they were living
together then. Jack comes in, having taken Abby to school. Gran
leaves the room, and Jen is crying & distraut about JT,
saying Hope will never be able to do that with him now, and it is
her fault. She goes on about having killed him, and Jack tries to
make her see it is not her fault, she did not blow up the bridge.
(These two are just so great together). They talk about the
accident, how Jack wanted to jump in after JT, but was holding
onto the car. Jen realizes there was not enough time & they
recall how it all happened. They talk of Hope and how she
probably will hate Jen, but Jack says no, Hope loves her and is
worried about her. He tells her she should help in the search,
and she agrees, going up to change her clothes. Love the look on
Alice's face here.
At Salem Hospital......
Eliana arrives with more flowers for Lexie from Stefano. They
chit chat a bit as Brandon arrives with a little bouquet. Eliana
takes them to find a vase (must've never found one....she doesn't
return, lol). Lexie tries to warn Brandon about her father, that
Brandon knows entirely too much & hints at the possibility he
could get killed. They talk of the bombings, Brandon has figured
a few things out, and urges Lexie to tell him all....he cannot
get killed twice! She tells him of the baby switch, and he can
now understand why Hope's JT has all the medical problems. He
tells her she has to tell Hope, and give back Isaac.
In History Class......
Mr. Woods is talking about President Hayes, asking questions that
Philip is able to answer (must be hitting the books). Chloe
chimes in with an answer or two, but Shawn is asleep. Nudged by
Phil, he says he is sorry, as Mr. Woods says "Sorry won't
cut it, especially in college". Shawn picks up his books
saying he doesn't need this and starts to leave the room. Mr.
Woods tries to stop him, but Shawn says he doesn't give a damn
and goes out the door. After the bell rings, Belle tells Mr.
Woods what happened to JT, and about the elevator.
Out in the hall, Mr. Woods brings a detention slip to Shawn,
& tries to talk to him. Belle comes up, all 3 go into a
classroom. Mr. Woods lets Shawn know how school, friends &
community can support & help in a time like this. He offers
to get the whole school looking and leaves. Shawn feels better,
but breaks down with Belle. She suggests to Shawn that perhaps JT
has been kidnapped, & quotes some statistics from a report
she once did. He hugs her, kisses her on the cheek and leaves to
tell his parents about this, and rejoin the search. At their
lockers, Philip is telling Chloe he still does not understand why
she accused him of rape. She continues blaming Nancy and Philip
continues to swallow all she says with no more questions. (No
glasses for Chloe today). Phil once again mentions loving her and
they hug, as Mr. Woods comes up warning them about the strict PDA
policy. (Public Display of Affection).
Down By The Riverside......
Replay of John warning Barb about a media blackout and no word
should slip out about a missing baby. As we hear JT crying, Barb
rushes off, promising to keep quiet. John sees a chain on the
ground, picks it up and goes after her. Back at their car, Glen
is cradling JT, (poor kid is not happy with him at all) and
talking to him. Barb comes up wanting to know why the baby cried.
Glen & Barb are outside the car as John comes up, returning
the chain to her. He hears the whimper of a baby, asks if they
have a baby in the car. (Yep, swallowed a dumb pill, for sure).
They say yeah, it's their kid and they have to be going. They get
in car, a towel is over the side back window so John cannot see
in as they drive off.
In the woods, Hope & Bo hear the baby's cry and she
recognizes it as JT's. She is thrilled the baby must have been
found, and they come rushing up as the car drives away. Hope has
a fit that John did not look at the baby, and reams John out (deservedly).
When asked for the woman's description, he only mentions the
baseball cap and sunglasses. (hey John, long curly blonde locks....very
apparent) & says the guy was ordinary looking. In reply to
Bo, he says he did not notice the car, license plate, etc. (And
this guy was a COP? Oh, yeah, I forgot, it was in the Salem P.D.)
Hope continues to rail at John, then begins to berate herself for
leaving JT w/Jen, seeing as Jen has not been herself since she
returned to Salem, and has all these problems. John tells Bo he
should try and make sure Hope and Jen do not cross paths. Bo
agrees.
As they are driving, Barb tries to convince Glen to take the baby
to the authorities. She argues that the town is crawling with
cops, search parties, etc. He refuses, telling her he intends to
keep him, and they need to change JT's diapers, have to get some
clothes and food for him. He thinks they should get a motel, and
some books on babies for Barb to read (LOL...yep, HIS kid, but
SHE has to read the books).
In the back seat, JT whimpers, Barb turns to stroke him a little,
and we see a closeup of him, tears on his cheeks. And the credits
roll.

Show #9068 (sweetened)***
Director: Phil Sogard
Tape Date: 5/05/01
Marlena and John have a quiet talk with Brady, the teens are out
of school already (short school day vs. the night before) and
Austin, Sami, Roman and Kate share barbs at Salem Place.
Showdown At The OK Corral, Salem Style
John comes downstairs to see Brady lifting weights on the balcony.
He asks him to come in and rest a little when Marlena joins them.
They inquire as to how Brady's head is doing after falling on the
elevator and he shuns Marlena's attempts to look at his injury,
saying she shouldn't pretend to care. John pulls her back when
she starts to walk away and demands Brady apologize. Brady
refuses, saying he's tired and Marlena goes to leave, not wanting
a manufactured apology. John pulls her back (gently) to sit down
and have a 3-way pow wow. John tries to mediate and asks what the
problem is. Marlena tells Brady she will do anything it takes to
make the family whole. She doesn't like the word hate and doesn't
hate him. She asks how he always says she doesn't love him like
his mother did and she tells him how wonderful a person his
mother was. Isabella loved him and so did she. He doesn't feel
it's a fair comparison. She asks if he thinks it's her fault that
his mother died of cancer. She tells him it broke her heart and
still does. She reminds him how he lived with her before she and
John got married and he knows she loved him. He went away to
school and came back full of venom. He lashes back that he didn't
GO away to school, he was SENT. She tells him he wanted to go to
school. A powerful scene as she reminds him of their special time
together, Sundaes on Sundays when John took Belle and she and
Brady went alone for Rocky Road ice cream and he told her she was
the best. With tears in her eyes, she asks what happened to that
little boy? Brady is speechless for a minute, but tells her. He
tells her how gleeful she was when telling him she wasn't his
real mother. She disagrees and didn't know he cried his eyes out
after hearing that. He figures she was lying to him when she told
him she loved him and doesn't remember it right. He asks what if
Belle asked to go away to boarding school, would she have let
her? John stops Brady and asks why Brady wanted to go away to
boarding school.
Brady tells them how Victor brought over a box of pictures of
Isabella. He asked Marlena to tell him about her and she didn't
want to. Brady asks John to tell him his favorite story about a
picture he got. John agrees to tell him as many times as he wants.
It was a weekend morning and IzzyB knew she was dying. They
wanted to make as much of their time together as possible. She
made blueberry pancakes and he carried Brady (like a football)
down the stairs and Izzy and he argued about who would feed Brady.
He remembers being a father to Sami and Eric, but not from birth,
so he wanted to savor each moment. At the foot of the stairs,
Izzy literally glowed and he felt it was a message from God.
Brady asks John to tell him what he told Izzy and John recalls
how he told Izzy that he would never love another woman the way
he loves her. John looks up at Marlena at that comment. She walks
away and Brady said she didn't want to hear about it before and
doesn't now, that's when he realized how he felt about her. She
walks upstairs as John asks her to please come back. She doesn't.
Close Encounters At Salem Place
Captain Brady is stapling MISSING CHILD posters with info on JT
around. Sami runs into him and inquires about JT and comments at
least Hope doesn't have Kate to contend with like she did. He
acknowledges that, but tells her she doesn't have to now and to
leave Kate alone as she's not worth it.
Kate's sipping some java at Java Café. Austin thanks her for
meeting him and they talk about the lack out and Philip. Austin
asks about where Kate's living and admits not seeing Philip much.
She asks him to try and spend more time with his brother as he
needs him. He apologizes and asks about what happened in Europe?
She tells him Victor's made a big deal about what happened, but
Austin knows she's lying. Sami overhears as they continue their
talking. Kate asks if he believes Victor that his mother is a
total bitch. On the sideline, Sami agrees. He tells her he's
worried about her and she can count on him. She'd love that, but
as long as he's involved with Sami, she doubts he could even be a
proper son and to cherish that little tramp if that's what feels
right to him. She tells him how Sami literally spit in her face.
That's his little girlfriend. Sami joins them and tells Kate
there are lots of things about Kate she might not want Austin to
know too. Roman walks up and tells Sami to stop it. The usual
banter and Roman suggests Austin and Sami leave. They do so and
Austin whispers in Kate's ear that he loves her while walking
away. It's obvious Kate is in pain and Roman asks if she's still
taking her medicine. She asks him to leave and does so herself,
collapsing in his arms. She won't let him take her to the
hospital or free clinic. He helps her to her car and feels she
can't drive with the shaky hands. He offers to take her home and
she insults him until he leaves, telling her to take care of
herself. She starts up the car.
Austin glares at Sami and he asks about the spitting in his
mother's face. They talk and she gives him the option, it's her
or his mother. Roman joins them and tells Austin about Kate's
problem and although Kate wouldn't let him drive her anywhere,
she needs help. Austin rushes off with Sami in his wake, telling
her father thanks in a snotty way.
Kate drove to the woman's shelter and listens to the rowdy bunch
there.
Salem High
Jan and Mimi discuss the website. Mimi's justifiably worried
about being caught as Jan thinks to herself that if anyone is
caught, it will be Mimi. Jan wants to tease the guys with the
site before the dance as someone walks in the classroom. Jason
walks in, jealous Jan wasn't studying and angry she spends more
time with Mimi than him. They leave and Kevin walks up and Jan
hints for another kiss. As he leaves he bumps into Susan. He
talks nicely with her and leaves her smiling as he tells her
brains and beauty run the world, insinuating she has both. A
tough guy knocks Kevin
down.
Chloe and Belle chat at Belle's locker about how Philip only
talks about their future. (Belle sure is perky without sleep,
isn't she?) Chloe's future plans differ from Philip's however.
They go to Salem Place to talk and after Belle starts to talk
about Shawn for a minute, they come back to Chloe's problem. That
darned horn honker is cruising Salem Place during their
conversation again. The two talk about what happened to Romeo and
Juliet. Chloe tells Belle about how the rape lie came out again
at dinner the night before. She's worried how Philip's wanting to
spend every minute with her and wonders what will happen when she
goes to music school in NYC and his fixation on her. She tells
Belle she wasn't ready that night in the stables and Philip was
cool about that. She's just worried she'll never be ready and
it's hard to talk to him about anything serious. She doesn't want
to lose him though.
Later the two splurge on some ice cream (although they never eat
any, haha, and what's with the metal spoons in styrofoam
containers?). They talk about what happened to JT (posters are
all around them) as Belle tells Chloe they didn't find a body and
figure someone took him. Chloe's light bulb in her head goes off,
remembering what she and Philip saw the night before. She tells
Belle what she thinks happened as the credits roll

Show #9069 (sweetened)***
Director: Herb Stein
Tape Date: 5/09/01
Good show as the Salem PD swings into gear in the search for
little JT. Hope lashes out at Jennifer. (More strong performances
from Melissa and Kristian...too short however); Victor lowers the
boom on Philip; Also of note...Brandon gets up close and personal
with Stefano.
Philip Gets His Wings Clipped
Philip is in his bedroom studying, but is distracted, not able to
keep his mind off of Chloe. He picks up her picture and has
flashbacks of them. His daydream is interrupted by Victor and
they get into an argument over Chloe. Victor tries to get him to
realize he is too young to realize what love is. But Philip
insists he loves her and points out that his dad is no expert on
the subject of love himself. Victor tries to reason with him but
Philip insists that he loves Chloe. Victor wants to know if she
feels the same, but Philip says that the words mean nothing, just
look at all the lies he got from him and his mom. Victor has
finally had enough and grounds him. Philip blows up as Victor
tells him that his grades are unacceptable and he is too
distracted over Chloe. They argue but Victor won't budge. After
he leaves, Philip is furious and says that he will do whatever it
takes to be with her.
Brandon Meets Stefano
At the hospital, Brandon continues to try and convince Lexie to
give Isaac to Hope. Stefano walks in and overhears him and is NOT
pleased at what he hears (OR for Lexie for confiding in Brandon).
Brandon isn't the least bit scared of Stefano, but the D-Man
assures him that make sure he keeps his mouth shut. First,
Stefano tries the money angle as he tries to bribe Brandon.
Seeing that tactic isn't going to work, he tries to frighten him.
But Brandon isn't phased by that either. Lexie begs Stefano not
to get upset. As Brandon prattles on, Lexie begs him to shut up.
Brandon asks "what is he going to do kill me?", then
tells Lexie she has been watching too much of the Sopranos. (She
is NOT amused). As he leaves, Stefano urges Lexie to reason with
Brandon.
Later, Stefano arrives home, furious. He is ranting to Rolf about
Brandon as Rolf questions him as to what he is going to do about
the situation. Rolf thinks that Stefano is worried about the
situation, but Stefano tells him that he could tell that Brandon
WAS worried (even though he doesn't think he is smart enough to
be afraid) and knows how to handle him. Rolf goes to leave and
Stefano asks where he is going. Rolf says "Well, I'm going
to kill Brandon Walker, of course."
The Search For JT
Belle and Chloe are still at Salem Place as Chloe explains to
Belle about seeing the couple by the river. Both of them get
excited when they realize that it could have been JT. Belle
decides that they need to go and tell Bo & Hope immediately
and they rush off.
The cop shop is buzzing with activity as Salem's finest seem to
be putting all their efforts toward finding JT. Abe is worried
about Bo, who has had no rest or sleep. But Bo assures him that
he will rest when they find JT. The fire chief calls and informs
him that they have dragged the river again and came up empty. Bo
is beginning to agree with Hope's assessment that JT is alive and
out there somewhere. All they need is a break in the case and
some kind of lead.
Jack and Jennifer arrive at Hope's (All will be happy to know
that Jen has FINALLY changed clothes. She is now in a very
appropriate black blouse ;-) He wants to go inside with her, but
she wants to talk with Hope alone. Inside, Hope is clinging to
one of JT's teddy bears. There is a knock and she opens the door
to find Jen. Without Hope saying a word, Jen comes in. Hope
begins talking about JT and the Horton blanket and gets terribly
upset and begins to cry. By the time Jen gets the words "I'm
sorry" out of her mouth, both are crying. Hope yells at her
"Why did you ever come back to Salem?" Jen tries (in
vain) to apologize but Hope is just too upset and angry to listen.
Jen tries to explain what happened, but Hope is full of "what
ifs" and "why nots" to listen to her. Finally, Jen
yells at her and Hope breaks down crying. Jen continues to try
and explain, but Hope can't understand how/why Jen survived and
JT didn't. Belle and Chloe rush in as Belle excitedly tells Hope
that she must listen to Chloe. Not understanding why they are
there, a confused Hope tells Belle that Shawn isn't there. Belle
finally gets through to her that Chloe has important information.
She tells Hope what she saw at the river and Hope is excited and
immediately calls Bo. Jen slips out while all this is going on.
Bo asks to talk to Chloe so Hope puts her on speaker phone. He
questions her and gets her to remember more details, like the man
had dark hair and the woman a blonde. She also remembers that the
car was a 4-door and gray in color. She wishes she could remember
more, but Bo is thrilled with what he has. Hope gets back on the
phone and tells him that he must find the people that took their
son. Hope realizes that Jen is gone and says that she will talk
with her later, but first she hugs Belle and Chloe and thanks
them.
Outside, Jen is back in the car with Jack, telling him what
happened inside. He is thrilled, but Jen isn't so optimistic. She
says that if it doesn't pan out, it would be like Hope losing JT
all over again. She tells Jack what Hope said to her and that
their relationship will never be the same again. Jack asks what
can he do to help. She wants to go to her grandmothers. She
thanks him for everything he has done for her, but right now, she
just needs her grandmother. He tells her if she needs him, she
knows where he lives, and gets a little smile from her. Jen
begins to second guess herself and thinks that maybe she is
getting what she deserves for not being a good mother herself.
Meanwhile, Glen and Barb have checked into a motel with JT and he
has gone and bought supplies. Barb talks about swinging through
Nashville on the way home and (not-so-subtly) plugs the Country
Music Fan Fair (which BTW, Peter Reckell and Melissa Reeves will
be attending if I'm not mistaken). Glen informs her they don't
have time for that as Barb says that she is getting the hang of
this baby thing while changing JT's diaper. Right on cue, he pees
all over the front of her blouse and Glen laughs. If nothing
else, it got her out of that blouse with the big flowers on it,
as we see that she has now changed. She is still arguing with
Glen about this being a mistake, but Glen thinks it is a miracle.
Barb thinks that Abe and Lexie's car must have gone off the
bridge and they got killed and that is why there is no news or no
one seems to be looking for the baby. She tries again to try and
convince Glen to call the police, but there is a knock at the
door. It 's the motel manager who found a pacifier outside and
asks if it is theirs. As Barb hides in the bathroom with JT, Glen
says that they don't have a baby and it must belong to someone
else. He tells him about the accident and search for the baby.
After he leaves, Barb goes to pieces and begs Glen to call the
police again. Outside, a lady cop is with the manager, giving him
flyers. Glen decides they should make a run for it. The cop
knocks on the door and they hear a baby cry. Barb lets them in
and they search, but Glen has gone out the bathroom window with
JT.
Back at the hospital, Abe calls Lexie and tells her about the
break in the case and she is relieved. After she gets off the
phone, she tells Brandon that it looks like Hope will get her
baby back. Brandon corrects her, she will be getting MARLO's baby
back. Lexie tries to reason with him and begs Brandon to keep
quiet, but he says it's not right for a kid not to know who his
parents are. (And he isn't just talking about JT here).
Abe puts out an APB on the gray car, blond woman and dark haired
man. The lady cop (that was at the motel earlier) is standing
there and overhears and tells them that she just saw them at a
motel outside of town. She tells them that she thought she heard
a baby cry, but never saw him. Bo, Abe and other cops take off in
pursuit. Meanwhile, Glen and Barb are in the car headed out of
Salem as Glen tells her that they are going to leave and just
disappear.
