Show #9045 (sweetened)
Director: Roger Inman
Tape Date: 4/10/01
Marlena testifies at the hearing, Brandon makes a swap and they
sure have long breaks between classes at Salem High.
The Hearing
Before they know Marlena's there, Brady tells John he's
glad Marlena's not there so his father won't be hurt by seeing
Marlena side up with Roman again. Abe no sooner tells Roman that
he knows he's still in love with Marlena when Marlena rounds the
corner demanding to know why she wasn't told about the hearing.
The lawyer asks if she's still willing to testify and she replies
yes, much to Roman's dismay. Roman and Marlena argue about her
being there as John and Brady walk out of the conference room.
She tells Brady she belongs there and is upset John didn't tell
her about it. Brady starts mouthing off and John orders Brady to
take a walk. Marlena goes into the conference room and John
follows so they can talk privately. They argue. He can barely
look at her as he busily glances around the room. Brady's
brainwashing on John has worked apparently. He tells Marlena
she's too late as the hearing's over and she can't help exonerate
her ex-husband and father of her twins. Marlena is so angry she
doesn't trust herself to talk, just tells John not to go behind
her back again. The lawyer knocks and tells them the arbitrator
will hear Marlena's testimony. Brady and Marlena exchange glances
as she leaves the room.
Marlena explains at the hearing about the misunderstandings and
family friction going on at the time in question. Brady keeps
interrupting and the arbitrator tells both Brady and his lawyer
that he'll have to leave if he interrupts any more. Marlena tells
them how she was worried about Brady's anger and concerned his
anger may be taken against her 16 year old daughter. She
consulted with Roman being a police officer and also the father
of her twins. As like other couples, it was hard to discuss with
her husband, Brady's father. Brady stands up denying he'd never
hurt his sister. Marlena agrees that she knows that now after
talking with the train engineer and examining the evidence. She
takes responsibility for pushing Commander Brady into the actions
he made. She doesn't want Commander Brady's career destroyed
because of her. When asked, she says she will give the same
testimony at a trial if necessary. She leaves after the
arbitrator does, without saying anything. Brady tells Cameron he
didn't know Marlena would show up, but says it's a true gift that
she did.
Salem High
Belle and Mimi chat about Chloe. Mimi tells Belle that it's clear
that Shawn is attracted to Belle, but Belle shrugs it off and
splits to talk about cheerleading practice with another gal. Jan
rushes up to Mimi when Belle leaves to show her a copy of the web
page design and Philip walks up and takes it out of Mimi's hands
(it's folded). Jan grabs it and puts it in her purse, saying it's
some medical information she got from Mimi as she missed her
period and knows she's not pregnant. Poor Mimi is uncomfortable
as Philip tries to reassure her. Belle pops over and offers her
help to Philip after his house burned to the ground. Mimi figures
he's not homeless after his house burnt down and he tells them
his father got a new place, he's just worried about Chloe.
Philip finds Chloe and tries to apologize. She refreshes his
memory about how he changed his tune about her last year after
seeing her in the red dress. She tells him how superficial he was
and not to call people names. Susan hears Chloe defending her and
tells Philip to call her whatever he wants, just don't tell
anyone he saw her at Chloe's house and walks off. Philip smirks,
Chloe fumes. Jan overhears. Chloe explains why she's upset and he
tries to tell her how much he loves her and will try to change
his behavior. She finally forgives him, not used to having anyone
care for her so much and kisses him. Hug, hug.
Belle says hi to Susan in the hall and Susan walks by quickly,
saying hi back. Jan and Mimi join them and Jan tells them
Gigantor is Chloe's new friend. Belle can't believe that Mimi
puts up with Jan (me either!) Belle knows they're up to something.
The kids announce gigantor coming down the hall and Mr. Wood
tells them to knock it off, threatening detention. Belle tries to
stop Susan to talk to her, but she doesn't. Chloe, Belle and
Philip talk to Mr. Wood as to what they can do to stop this from
happening. He tells them the other kids are their peers and to
think about it. Belle asks Chloe to talk about their friendship
and Chloe would like that.
Jan shows Mimi the website and Mimi is shocked Jan is charging
for people to see it, wanting a credit card number. (Oh paleez,
with all the porn sites on the net, teens are going to put credit
card info in to see suds-girl?)
The DNA Test
Glen shows up at the hospital for the DNA test. Brandon's at the
desk (lucky timing, ey?) and when Larry tells Glen that it'll be
a few minutes, Brandon walks to the waiting area with him and
hears Glen's whole story.
Hope and JT run into Lexie and Isaac at the hospital (oh come on,
pretend you're surprised at that, haha). A nurse comes and takes
JT in for his check up and Lexie is happy Hope's there for
support, being Abe's at the hearing. Hope tries to encourage
Lexie that a court case may take years and she doesn't blame
Lexie for doing everything she can to hold onto Isaac. Brandon
and Lexie exchange glances. Glen rushes up to see his son and
Lexie scurries him away. Glen apologizes to Hope, he was just
excited to see his son for the first time. He asks Brandon to
tell Lexie he's sorry too. Brandon looks for Lexie and finds her
hiding in the store room. Lexie's crying and terrified that Glen
will take her son away. She feels like she's going to faint and
hands Isaac to Brandon as she sits on the stairs. He reassures
her that he got a DNA swab from the lab this morning and will
swab his own cheek and switch it in the lab while getting the
tech talking about HMO's as that always sets him off (LOL). She
tells Brandon he's a Godsend. She mentions Abe's name again and
he'd prefer she didn't. Back in the hall Harry the DNA tech takes
Isaac in for his test (Lexie preferred it that way) Hope
overhears Lexie and Brandon mention a "swap and asks what
they're talking about. Harry returns Isaac to Lexie and Glen has
his swab done afterwards. He tries to apologize to Lexie and
tells her he understands after seeing Isaac why she did what she
did at the lodge. On the way to the lab Brandon meets the nurse
with JT. She gets paged to ER (must be a floater nurse?) and
hands JT to Brandon to return to Hope, saying his physical went
great. Brandon has second thoughts about what he's doing. He
returns JT to Hope and Lexie's worried that Hope might have to
sign a release for JT (so she can talk privately to Brandon). She
urges Brandon to make the switch and watches anxiously as he
steps away. He goes in the lab, supposedly for a medical journal,
and makes the switch, but one tech catches him putting something
in his pocket and asks what he's doing. (The dna swab is in a zip
lock bag (that's marked) but the sample isn't labeled or tagged
itself?) He tells them he was just getting a business card out to
write his number on so he and Tony (the lab tech) could get
together to party sometime. They buy that and Brandon leaves.
Outside the hospital Glen tells Barb if that's his kid, he's
going to fight to raise him. Barb agrees and will be honored to
raise him.
Brandon returns and gives the journal to Lexie, telling him it's
done. He flashes back saying he can't have his DNA sample on
record and takes JT into the store room and swabs his mouth (come
on come on, act surprised folks). Lexie hugs him and thanks him
as the credits roll.

Show #9046 (sweetened)
Director: Roger Inman (same)
Tape Date: 4/10/01 (same)
The arbitration is settled, Chloe and Belle are friends again,
Nicole has some kicks at Greta's expense and Kate learns Philip's
a spoiled snot.
Friends Again
Belle meets Chloe at Salem Place. The guy who asked her out in
front of Shawn at the hospital sees her before Chloe joins her
and asks to spend some time with her. Sorry fella. Chloe walks up
and starts talking to Belle about how they can work on stopping
name calling at school. Belle stops her and says she is there to
talk about their friendship and tells Chloe she doesn't trust her.
She's tired of Chloe's lies, like how she claimed Philip didn't
rape her. Chloe didn't realize telling Belle all her intimate
details were part of their friendship, but Belle takes that as an
answer and starts to leave. Chloe talks to Belle about she's told
Belle more than she wants to know about her already probably. She
tells Belle her life still sucks in many ways, even with a
boyfriend like Philip. Belle apologizes and realizes that they
each envy each other as Chloe would have loved growing up with
her own parents like Belle did and Belle wished she had a
boyfriend of her own like Chloe. She admits to Chloe that she'd
like Shawn to ask her out. Chloe suggests Belle ask Shawn out.
They hug a couple of times, glad to be friends again.
Jan and Mimi are driving around as Mimi brings up the website on
the laptop. She tells Mimi her father will buy her a car just
like his in any color she wants after she graduates high school.
Jan said they have to charge for Chloe's website so that it looks
like Chloe is trying to raise money for Julliard, but really
they'll make a fortune off Chloe's body. Mimi worries a nerd will
figure out they're behind the website. Jan figures so what,
they'll be famous and maybe have a movie made about them. She
names an actress who could play herself, but she has bigger
breasts than the actress. No problem though, that's what foam
rubber is for she tells herself.. They pull up at Salem Place and
see Belle and Chloe hugging on a bench.
Titan
At Titan, Philip stops by to see Victor. He asks where his mom is
and Victor tells him to just worry about his school work right
now.. Outside in the hall Philip runs into Austin and he tells
him where Kate is working. Philip rushes off to see her. Nicole
feels for Philip as Victor wants him to stay away from his two
favorite women, Chloe and Kate. Austin goes into see Victor and
figures he's going to get fired, but no, Victor acts fatherly
toward Austin and warns him about Sami Brady. Later Austin thanks
Victor for his advice (all we hear is stay away from Sami).
Good Girl vs Bad Girl
Nicole leaves when Austin goes in to see Victor and finds Greta
asking for Austin at Marie's desk. Nicole asks to speak with her
in her new office. She's in an especially catty mood as she tells
Greta that Eric came to Salem while she was in Europe and how
they were in bed the whole time. Greta buys that and Nicole
refers to Greta as a nun and princess in her typical nasty manner.
She admits Eric wasn't in town really, just wanted to see Greta's
reaction. Greta tells her she doesn't have feelings for Eric
anymore, but after many Nicoleisms, asks what the Hell Nicole
wants and Nicole chuckles, thinking she'll have to have Greta de-clawed.
Greta finally tells Nicole she'll not lower herself by calling
her names and knows Austin isn't interested in her (Nicole).
Nicole tells Greta she's Austin's boss now and can set his hours.
She might come on to him at a late night meeting. Greta leaves
and Nicole tells herself, "Oh fudge, now I won't be invited
to the castle". LOL.
As Greta turns in the elevator she sees Austin come out to
Marie's desk. Nicole sees this and calls Austin into her office
to discuss the next Bella cover (hmmm, our poll shows Greta
ahead, wouldn't it be interesting if Nicole suggests having Greta
for a model?).
The Ruling
Roman is restless at the courthouse. The Commissioner (now there)
and Abe hold Roman back as Brady continues to mouth off about how
the police are covering for Roman and the legal beagle shoos the
commissioner out of the room (but not before the commissioner
tells Roman he knows what he means about the smell of that kid).
After witnessing Brady's behavior, Cameron tells him he needs to
cool it and she can't wait until this is over. He calls her a two
faced bitch who can't wait for her fee. Insulted, Cameron tells
him she hopes he likes being alone and leaves. He figures he
won't be the only one alone, thinking his father will dump
Marlena's a** too after what she did today.
John and Marlena continue their talk in the conference room. John
tells Marlena that Brady was right. Roman was ready to throw his
own career away because he's still in love with her. Marlena
tells him she came only to tell the truth. She admits she was
wrong about thinking Brady had hurt Belle and tried to apologize,
but Brady would have no part of that. John claims that Brady just
wants them broken up. Her voice breaks as she tells John he knows
she wouldn't let Roman get railroaded and that's why he didn't
tell her about the hearing. She hopes the hearing will end all
the bad feelings. John hopes so too as when she's not there with
him, he feels half empty. She starts crying and says she does too.
They hug as Brady steps out of the conference room and unhappily
witnesses it.
The arbitrator returns with his judgment. He examined the
evidence and finds Brady has no case against the Salem PD. The
prognosis is Brady will get full use of his legs and made himself
appear guilty by withholding the facts about what really happened
on the railroad track and then running. Brady stands up and
hollers they can't do that. He jumps up, said this is crap and
when John tries to control him, tells John not call him son as he
sided up with the enemy and back with that slut again. He
scurries out of there as the arbitrator said it was more a
communication problem and the Salem PD will pay Brady $50K.
Cameron is outraged and said Roman's testimony at a trial would
be damaging and demands $100K. Nods on the police side of the
table and the arbitrator agrees and says the case is settled. (Okay
Brady, you punk, you have enough to move out on your own now, DO
IT!)
John thanks Cameron for doing what she could and shakes her hand.
Outside Roman thanks Marlena and asks John to shake hands. John
refuses and tells Roman to stay out of their lives. John shakes
Abe's hand and hugs him, then tells Marlena they'll go home.
She's worried about Brady and he says they'll face him together.
Privately, Cameron flaunts to Abe that she made $40,000 just now,
reminding him what he missed by leaving her.
Hudson Street Girl
Fay watches Kate smile and serve customers with a flair. (Hard to
believe this is the same Kate who ordered Henderson around). Fay
tells Kate she can't believe Victor left her high and dry. Kate
doesn't want to talk about her personal life, but gets another
pain. Fay asks her to sit down,
but Kate insists on working.
Philip arrives at the diner and watches his mom being a waitress
and confronts her. She's happy to see him and asks to talk with
him on her break, but he doesn't want to wait. (I think Kate's
enjoying the job myself). She takes him outside and tells him NO
when he wants to call Victor about getting her a better job (remembering
Victor's threats). She tells him she's fine and has to get back
to work. He asks where she's living and she tells him with
friends. She can't give him the number as their phone is always
busy, but he can call her at the grill. She tries to leave to go
back inside to work, but he doesn't want her to as it would be
embarrassing to him to have his friends see her working in a
greasy diner. He goes on about his position and dating the COS's
daughter, etc. Kate calls Chloe's parents bores and is insulted.
She realizes he's as bad as Lucas in not appreciating how hard
work pays. She tells him when he works for something instead of
being served on a silver platter with everything, he'll
understand. She calls him an ungrateful little snot when he tries
to stop her. She tells him she'll always love him, but doesn't
like him very much right now and is disappointed in him. She
tells him to go back to his father, mansion and credit cards. (atta
girl Kate! I like you better this way, humble and proud) Philip
stops her again and apologizes, saying he didn't mean to hurt her.
After he leaves Kate tells herself that she knows she's strong
and can do this and will show them all, including the right way
for her children to live. Outside Philip watches his mother
working and whips out his cellphone and calls Victor and whines
to his father about getting his mother a respectable job before
all his friends make fun of him. Victor tells him they'll talk
about it at home later and hangs up. He tells himself that Kate
made her bed, now she'll have to lie in it as the credits roll.

Show #9047 (sweetened)
Director: Roger W. Inman
Tape Date: 4/07/01
Sorry that this is brief, but I am short on time today. Brandon
learns the results of the the DNA test.
Salem Place
Chloe and Belle make up as Chloe promises that her
secret (that Belle is crazy for Shawn) is safe with her. They
decide to go to dotCom, but see Brady getting out of his van and
crossing the street. He almost gets run over and then is rude to
the driver. When he gets there, Belle has to run to the cleaners
before they close, leaving Chloe and Brady alone to talk. He
tells her that he got screwed at the hearing and that it's all
Marlena's fault. He gives his sob story and whines how he blames
Roman and Marlena for everything that went wrong. She tells him
that she understand betrayal and vows that Roman and Marlena will
pay. Chloe advises him not to play into Marlena's hands and to
lay low for a while. She tells him that at first, she thought he
was the most egotistical bore she had ever met, but now has
changed her mind, she doesn't think he is boring anymore (LOL).
She tells him if he needs anything he can depend on her. Also at
Salem Place, Phillip is wandering around having flashbacks of his
confrontation with Kate. He runs into Belle (on her way back from
the cleaners) and tells her what is wrong after she asks. He
explains the situation with her working at the Hudson Street
Diner. He tells her that he is embarrassed and how what she is
doing reflects on him. Belle is shocked by his attitude/behavior
and defends Kate's situation. She calls Philip snobby and tells
him to give her a break. He reconsiders his attitude when Belle
compares Kate to Chloe. He spots Chloe and Brady talking and
becomes extremely jealous. Belle tries to calm him down and
assure him that it's all innocent. He yells for Chloe (Brady
tells her that her master is calling) and she joins him. Belle
joins Brady and wants to know about he hearing, but he doesn't
want to talk about it. But to himself, he thinks when he is
better, he is going after Roman and Marlena.
The Baby Switch
At the police station, the cops are celebrating Abe & Roman's
victory at the hearing. However, Abe's mind is on other things,
worrying about the DNA test. He is trying to locate Lexie and is
worried about her well-being. Later, they discuss how Marlena was
the key to their victory and Roman is convinced that now Brady
will make her life a living hell. Abe advises him that he needs
to let go of his feelings for Marlena. Roman urges Abe to go on
home and be with Lexie, sure that she is having an emotional day.
After Abe is gone, the commissioner comes by and also
congratulates Roman. He also advises him that he needs to get
over Dr. Evans.
At the hospital, Lexie is in the cafeteria nervously waiting on
Brandon. While she waits, Glen and Barb show up and there is a
confrontation. Lexie gets really nasty with them and doesn't want
to talk to/see them. The 3 argue and Lexie gets so upset, she
tells them to go to hell. Brandon comes in and breaks it up and
does his best to defend Lexie. But Glen and Barb vow that if the
DNA matches, they are taking Isaac. After they leave, Brandon
assures her that everything went okay. He also informs her that
it was in fact JT's sample that was sent to the lab instead. She
is relieved and pleased to hear that they will have the results
tomorrow. Lexie pushes him and wants the results earlier. He
promises to talk to Roger and try to find out today. She tells
him that Sami will realize what she is missing and that someday
he will make some lady very happy. He smiles at her slyly and
says that all of the nice ones are taken.
Later, Abe is at home waiting on Lexie and picks up a picture of
the baby and has flashbacks of the three of them (set to "Heaven
Must've Sent You From Above"). Lexie comes in (Isaac is at
Celeste's) and wants to go out to dinner. She is certain that the
test will prove that Isaac is not Glen's and that everything will
work out for them. She has flashbacks of asking Brandon for help
and tells Abe that soon, Glen and Barb will be out of their lives
forever.
Brandon visits Roger at the lab and asks him to rush the test
results. Roger agrees and tells him that they will be ready
shortly. After Roger walks off, Brandon is looking at the
computer screen and it pops up DNA Match Positive. Brandon stares
at the screen and the credits roll.

Show #9048 (sweetened)
Director: Randy J. Robbins
Tape Date: 4/12/01
Jack and Jen move in and all of the Black's return home.
Belle & Chloe
Belle and Chloe are strolling around and now laughing about the
hair incident. They figure they were wrong about it being Jan's
fault. They're happy to be friends again. Chloe tells Belle
things are good with her and Philip and how sweet he is. With him
in her life she feels like no one can hurt her. Jan and Mimi (who's
very nervous about the website) sit on a bench. Jan reminds Mimi
she's as much involved as she is. Mimi whips out her cell (who's
paying that cell bill?) and calls someone for advice. Jan hangs
up Mimi's cell and tells her everything they do is okay under the
1st Amendment. Once Mr. K. finds out about the site, he'll insist
Philip drop Chloe as he won't want his son dating a cyber porn
queen. She figures they'll disguise their voices talking about
the site and some nerd guy, like Kevin, will announce the site to
the world. As Mimi walks away, Jan tells herself she's going to
set it up so Mimi gets all the blame here.
B-Ball Court
Shawn's taking care of JT for Hope (cute scene where she plays
the nervous mom about if JT's ok and Shawn reassuring her).
Philip borrows Shawn's cell to "check up" on Chloe as
he forgot to charge his last night (what? Realism in Salem?)
Shawn laughs and tells him she's with Belle and to cool it.
Philip hangs up and the two play ball as Shawn asks Philip if
they've "done it". Philip tells him no, but Shawn
continues his lecture as Philip joins Shawn in being shirtless on
the court. Shawn suggests Philip give Chloe some breathing room.
Philip doesn't play well and blames it on keeping an eye on JT.
Shawn doesn't buy it and knows it's due to Chloe on the brain.
Jan sees the guys playing b-ball, takes her sweater off to reveal
her assets and flaunts them to Shawn and Philip, who oblige. She
flirts with them and Mimi takes off her jacket and stands in
front of Jan, trying to get into the action, lol. The guys
announce they have to leave and say goodbye to each other. Mimi
asks to walk with Philip as she has to babysit her brother. She's
wearing a nice sleeveless top with a modest "v"
neckline. Philip says ok, but suggests she cover up, saying it's
not her best look (what a jerk!). When she mentions Jan, he said
that's expected from Jan to look and act that way. She puts her
coat on and follows Philip.
Now alone with Shawn, Jan puts down Mimi and tells him that she
and Mimi are more partners then friends. He knows they're up to
something and stands up for Mimi, but asks Jan why she has to act
so tough all the time. He tells her about the Carver's ordeal (why).
He then offers to listen if she wants to talk about something.
She mentions JT's being an accident and how she'll never have
kids (oh no, is that a sign of an upcoming storyline?). She
leaves (thank goodness!) Shawn checks on his brother.
Mimi asks Philip what guys think about her. He doesn't know what
other guys think, but he considers her a pretty good friend.
She's bummed about not having a boyfriend. He tells her she's
only 16. She tells him she's not popular like Belle or knows how
to work it like Jan. What do guys see in Chloe? Philip smiles as
she asks about Chloe's hair and glasses. He tells her he got to
know Chloe's inner self, but Mimi tells herself wait til he sees
the rest of Chloe on the website.
The Penthouse
John and Marlena chat about the hearing being behind them and she
worries how Brady will act now. Brady returns home and John tells
Brady they need to talk about it. Brady tells them the two of
them might not be around long enough to talk about it. (Uh oh,
that was a sure eyebrow raiser for John.) Brady snidely tells
them he figures they'll go out on the town to celebrate, but he
got $60,000, so for them to go out and buy a good bottle of wine.
He heads upstairs (guess he's not using the downstairs room
anymore?) and overhears Marlena mumbling under her breath to John
that Brady needs professional help. He calls Marlena a
manipulative bitch just before Chloe and Belle walk in. (how can
any husband take those words about his wife from anyone, son or
not, is beyond me!!) Brady remembers Chloe's synopsis of what
Marlena will do next during their talk at Salem Place. He changes
his tune and calmly tells John he's disappointed in him and walks
out the door again. Belle wants to go after Brady, but Chloe
offers to go. Chloe tells him what he did was very mature and
very effective. He admits she was right, but kiddingly says he
won't admit she can sing, but tells her she's not bad, she just
doesn't sing from her heart. She whips back with at least she HAS
a heart and he is the most cold and calculating person she's ever
met. They get back on her singing and he promises to tell her
later what she's missing.
Inside Belle tells J&M that Brady said he'll stand by the
house rules. Marlena doesn't agree and feels Brady plans to make
her pay. Belle optimistically thinks Brady is trying to figure
out how to get along with everyone (ha!) John agrees that Belle
may be right (yeah, that manipulative bitch line convinced me of
that too John!) and Belle knows Brady a lot better than he does.
Marlena starts to cry, asking John why he would say that in front
of Belle. She reminds him how hard she tried to raise Brady all
these years and won't be dismissed as an outsider. She asks John
if he would mind her setting up an appt. with a colleague of hers
at the hospital and John reluctantly agrees. Brady walks back in
and tells them emotions are too high right now and he doesn't
want to talk.
The Housewarming
Jack and Jen show Abby the house. Abby asks if she can have a
friend over for a slumber party and he says yes, but wisely
follows up with she needs to check with her mother as well of
course. They go off to see the gardens while Jen tells herself
she's doing this for Abby's sake. Abby thanks her parents for
making her dreams come true. Jen tells Abby she loves her and
Jack says he loves her twice as much. They both tell her they
love her and send Abby into the house alone (what?) while Jen
reams out Jack for the "twice as much" part. He tells
her it was just a figure of speech and goes inside. Jen waves as
someone pulls up. Abby runs downstairs to Jack and liked her room.
He shows her a book saying the book fairy was there and she knows
better. He tells her he checked with her school and that's what
they'll be reading next year.
Jen walks in with Hope, Gran and Julie who are loaded with bags
and goodies. Fresh donuts from Gran, pots and pans, flowers,
food, candles, and a doll for Abby. Jen thanks them and heads out
to start putting some of the stuff away. Jack tells Jen quietly
it's like a freaking Martha Stewart convention (LOL) and are they
going to decoupage the driveway next? Jen glares at him in that
way she does, haha. He asks Julie what she's got in the bag and
she tells him staples for the refrigerator, and he didn't do THAT
did he? He tells her no and she tells him just like old times,
expecting Jennifer to do that. (high five Julie!) They go outside
and he asks if this is a woman's lib 60's thing and she tells him
Jen needs someone mature and caring, the total opposite of him.
He was lucky Jen went along with this arrangement, but he figures
Jen was the lucky one. They argue as Jack insists that he's going
to give Abby a happy home and no one is going to stop him. He
stomps upstairs and Julie comes in, slamming the front door and
furious. She can't let Jen move in with Jack. In his room, Jack
looks at Abby's picture, saying she's his greatest accomplishment
and he'll do anything he can to make her happy.
Inside Abby and Gran play checkers while Jen tells Hope how tense
it already is. She has to try this for her daughter's sake though.
Hope suggests maybe Jack (or Jen) could get a house in the same
neighborhood (where's all the money coming from? Neither Jack or
Jen are working??) Abby asks for a donut and Gran gives her one.
Hope offers to go with Jen to look at a house she saw available
nearby. Abby brings in a donut for each Jen and Julie as Julie
hushes about how being around Jack makes her blood boil. Jen
tells Hope she's going to give this arrangement a try. Julie kids
with Hope in front of Jen that maybe they should find that guy
from Ireland that Jen was interested in and Jen snaps and tells
her absolutely NOT. Julie retreats to say goodbye to Abby and Jen
feels bad for snapping at Julie, but couldn't talk about that
incident with her. Hope offers to listen and promises to not tell
anyone else about it. Jen will come over to Hope's later and will
tell her about what happened as the credits roll.

Director: Phil Sogard
Tape Date: 4/13/01
Hope and Jen talk about Colin...Lexie panics as Abe explodes! AND...do
we see a "kinder, gentler" Sami?...not hardly!
Sweet Little Innocent Sami
Sami is cleaning up the apartment and remembers her conversation
with Caroline. She is determined to follow that lead and not push
Austin, even though Will wants him to come over. Over at his
place, Austin flashes back to being in bed with Sami, but he
doesn't want to go over. He says that they were moving too fast.
He calls instead and offers to come over and read to Will, but
Sami plays it cool, telling him she doesn't want to bother him. (He
wonders whatsupwithat?) Her plan works and Austin comes over
anyway and Will is thrilled. When he gets there, Sami tells Will
it's past his bedtime and hurries him off to bed. He wants to say
a prayer for his daddy, then asks Sami to do the same (all part
of her show). After he goes to bed, Sami and Austin return to the
living room and she plays all innocent with him, offering him
coffee. He keeps wondering what is going on with her. To herself,
she thanks Grandma for the idea. He finally asks her what's up
but she changes the subject and talks about Will and her new
fingernails. He asks her why she is acting like this, like they
are just buddies. She tells him that marriage is the last thing
on her mind right now and that she only wants to focus on Will.
She vows not to throw herself at him anymore and plays the sweet
little innocent Sami routine to the hilt. Austin tells her that
he only wanted to slow things down as he sits in total confusion.
Hope & Jen Talk
After putting Abby to bed, Jen goes over to Hope's in an upset
mood. JT cries and Hope rushes upstairs for him. He is okay, just
fussy as Hope admits that she tends to over react. She talks
about how lucky she is to have him and what a blessing he is.
Hope asks Jen about the "other man" in her life and Jen
tells her his name was Dr. Colin Murphy and that she met him in
Africa. It seems that she was smitten with him but he didn't
return her feelings. She talks about how things were in Africa
and Jack and his "get-rich-quick" schemes. She also
touches about him being involved with an African princess. She
says that she also found out things about her dad that upset her,
but she doesn't want to talk about that right now. She says that
she was so confused and vows to never leave herself that
vulnerable again. She feels that Jack is watching and waiting for
her to slip up, afraid that he will try and take Abby away from
her. Hope says that she can't believe that Jack would do that,
but Jen says if he tried, she would die. Hope can understand her
feelings (a foreshadowing?) Jen is afraid that Jack would accuse
her of being an unfit mother if he found out about Colin and that
now she must be careful about all she says and does in front of
him. JT gets fussy again and Jen offers to leave, but Hope stops
her, wanting to hear more about Colin.
The Baby Switch
In the lab, Brandon is in shock over the DNA results. He cuts off
the computer and loses the data. Roger is upset with him and says
that he will have to redo the tests tomorrow morning, buying
Brandon a little time. Over at the Carver house, Abe and Lexie
decided to stay in for the evening. They are in bed, both
confident everything will turn out okay. While Abe is gone to get
champagne, Stefano calls. After talking a few minutes with Lexie,
he can't understand how she can be so calm and is confused by her
attitude. When they get off the phone, he tells Rolf he doesn't
understand her behavior, after she was so upset before. He wishes
he could tell her the truth about the babies. Abe returns and
they toast with champagne and are happy, until the phone rings
again. This time, it's Brandon, who tells Lexie that there's a
problem and she needs to meet him in the park immediately. Lexie
lies and tells Abe that it was Celeste on the phone and that she
fell and twisted her knee and must go to her. After Lexie leaves,
Celeste calls and blows her story. Abe is certain that she has
run to Stefano's and is furious. He asks Celeste to come over and
sit with Isaac. Lexie meets Brandon in the park and she is upset
as he tells her the story about the DNA match. He assures her
that he did everything perfectly. Neither can understand how Glen
could be the father of Hope's baby. Lexie makes the comment that
it is not possible that Glen could have been with Princess Gina.
Brandon catches that and begins to question her as to how she she
would know that Bo isn't the father of Hope's baby (as she has a
flashback of Hope telling her that Bo isn't). Brandon wants to
know the truth and keeps pressing her. She tells him to forget
about it and he tells her about how he dumped the data, buying
them a little time. He keeps asking her if she knew that Bo
wasn't the father, but she won't tell him any more. She thanks
him and rushes off. He offers to help any way he can and she says
that she will call him.
Before Celeste arrives, Abe calls Stefano, asking for Lexie. They
argue and Stefano ends up hanging up on him, knowing that
something is terribly wrong. Celeste shows up and Abe explains
Lexie's strange behavior to her. She tries to stop him, but he is
determined to go see Stefano. He shows up at DiMansion banging on
the door (geez, lighten up Abe!) Eliana opens the door telling
him not to knock it down and shuts the door in his face. Then,
Stefano opens it, telling him to get a grip. Abe tells him he IS
going to get a grip, around his neck (LOL). Abe barges on in,
yelling out for Lexie. Stefano swears she is not there as Abe
explains what happened. Abe blames Stefano, who even admits that
her behavior is odd. As he questions Abe further about what
happened, the doorbell rings. Abe is sure it is Lexie (which it
is) but Stefano tells him that this is HIS house and HE will
answer the door, wondering how to get rid of her. Meanwhile, the
doorbell rings at the Carver house as well. As Celeste looks
outside, she sees Glen, Barb and (what looks like) a lawyer at
the door. Glen says that he is sure that is his son and he is
going to get him NOW and the credits roll.
