Pretty slow day in Salem... EXCEPT for the Sami/Kate face
off! If you are either a Sami/ Kate lover/hater...you don't want
to miss this! I'll admit... it's hard choosing sides in this one!
Watch as Kate goes 2 for 2 in the department of losing her sons!
Episode #9005 (Sweetened)
Directed by: Roger Inman
Tape Date: 2/14/01
Lexie Runs To Daddy
Lexie runs straight to the DiMansion to see her father. She joins
him in the den and is excited and in a really happy mood. She
thanks him for being so good to her and giving her the
opportunity to be a mother. He assumes that there is more, so she
tells him about the body being mistakenly identified. She is
thrilled and Stefano is happy for her as well. She tells him that
he was right all along to completely dispose of the body and that
she worried for nothing. He wants to celebrate with champagne,
but she has a better idea, for him to take her shopping and if he
is good, she might even let him buy her something. (LOL). He is
happy to see her in such good spirits as they laugh and have a
big ole time. As he picks her up and swings her around, he tells
her that she will always be his little girl. She talks about how
he has really changed and wishes that everyone else could see the
good in him. He admits that he is "one hell of a nice guy.
She looks around the room (referring to it as the House of Usher)
and suggests that flowers and pictures would liven up the place.
He pulls out his wallet and asks like these?, showing her that he
has pictures of Isaac and her in his wallet. She is impressed and
begins to look at OTHER pictures in his wallet, ones of Ben
Franklin, Andrew Jackson, etc. (his MONEY that is) so they take
off shopping. They end up at the Blue Note and Stefano orders
them both martinis. She reminds him that it is only 5:00. (Wait a
minute, it has been dark and stormy for 3 episodes and now, after
they have been shopping, it is ONLY 5 o'clock? One question, just
what time does it get dark in Salem???) Oh, well, she thanks him
for such a wonderful day. He toasts her and Isaac and the fact
that Marlo is finally out of their lives. The television is on
and there is a news bulletin that comes on, about Marlo!
Somewhere else, a guy is eating his dinner at home, sees the
drawing on tv and says "Marlo!"
Philip & Chloe Take A Roll In The Hay (LITERALLY)
Philip and Chloe arrive at the Kiriakis stables and are drenched
from the rain. He gets out blankets and spread them in the hay.
They kiss and Chloe pulls back as they talk about the first time
for both of them and how they will remember it for the rest of
their lives. He professes his love for her and as they kiss
again, she hesitates and tells him that she is scared. They talk
about how both of them are unsure about what will happen and
Philip suggests that they find out together. He tells her that
even though she has never said "I Love You", he can
feel it. She tells him that she isn't even sure what love is but
does admit to thinking about him all the time. He asks her if she
wants him to take her home of if she wants to stay. She decides
to stay as they hold their hands up together palm to palm. Philip
tells her that will be their special sign that they love each
other. They begin to kiss again and undress. Philip tells her
that she is beautiful and she admits that she is scared. He tells
her that if she wants him to stop, all she has to do is say so.
She tells him to kiss her and as they kiss, they lie down on the
blanket.
Sami & Kate Face Off
Mickey arrives at Gene Brisco's office as he tells Gene that Sami
has hard evidence against Kate. (Victor and Nicole are watching
on closed circuit TV and comment on how Kate will have a cardiac
arrest when she finds out that Victor is still alive). In the
hallway, Kate (still in her ostrich feather/boa thing, is she
EVER going to change?) paces nervously, waiting for Lucas to
arrive. Sami shows up and they immediately get into an argument.
Kate grabs Sami by the hair and slams her up against the wall,
telling her to burn in hell. She (Kate) pulls out a gun and
begins shooting Sami as Sami laughs at her, saying that she isn't
going anywhere and that she is Kate's worst nightmare (yes, of
course, Kate is having a daydream). Kate snaps back as Sami makes
a crack about Kate's outfit and asks if she is going to a funeral
and Kate storms off. (BTW, whatisup with Kate's hair? Those
extensions hanging down the back of her head looks like a horse
tail, check it out!) Brandon arrives and he assures Sami she will
get Will back soon. Lucas staggers in and says over his dead body
(geesh, Lucas, don't give her any ideas!) Sami taunts him and
then THEY get into an argument. Lucas tells her that he regrets
ever getting involved with her and when they were together it was
"sympathy sex". (Hmm...my question is just who was
having sympathy on whom?) Anyway, Lucas tells her that she will
regret she ever messed with him and he storms into the room with
Kate. After Sami calms down, she tells Brandon what she told
Austin and Brandon asks where is Austin now. If he cared for her,
he'd be there. Sami and Brandon also join the meeting (as all
parties sneer at each other across the table). As Nicole and
Victor watch, she exclaims that "It's SHOWTIME" and
they gloat. Victor starts laughing so hard, he starts wheezing
and can't get his breath. She runs to call a doctor, but he stops
her, saying it is only his cracked rib hurting. Besides, it only
hurts when he laughs. Mickey plays a portion of the tape as Sami
looks squarely at Kate and says "GOTCHA!" Kate poo-poo's
the tape as she and Sami get into another argument. Kate jumps up
and says that it's all a lie and Gene asks Sami where she got
such good actors to impersonate Kate and Roberto. Sami goes
ballistic and goes for Gene. (Nicole comments that this is better
than Tyson and Holyfield, ROFL). Mickey shuts Sami up and
apologizes for her behavior. Then Sami and Lucas get into a
shouting match. Sami grabs the tape recorder and plays some more
of it and we hear Kate and Roberto talking about Sami being on
death row. Kate is saying that Sami would die already. Sami
smirks at Kate as Victor and Nicole can't believe what they are
hearing. Lucas asks Kate if she even KNEW what was on that tape,
then THEY get into an argument. Kate blurts out (for all to hear,
not too smart, Kate) that yes she said it and she meant every
word of it. Gene tells her that he cannot represent her any
longer for her to find another lawyer. He wishes her good luck
and tells her to close the door on her way out. Victor and Nicole
celebrate as Mickey declares the meeting over, "just like
your life, Kate" says Sami. Kate gets up in Sami's face and
tells her it is not over and she will NEVER win and NEVER get her
son back. She wishes she would have died on death row. Kate yanks
open the door to find Austin standing there, furious with her. He
says that Kate did her best to see that Sami lost her son, now
she will see how that feels. She has also lost HER son, she is no
longer his mother! (Sami smiles from ear to ear) as the credits
roll.

TUESDAY, MARCH 6, 2001***
More bickering with Kate and Sami as Austin heard
everything on the tape. Craig and Nancy talk about who Chloe's
father is and Marlo's boyfriend surfaces.
Episode #9006 (Sweetened)
Directed by: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 2/15/01
Lexie & Stefano
are still celebrating with a drink at the bar when a news
bulletin flashes on the screen with Marlo's picture. Lexie starts
freaking while Stefano tries to calm her down. Stefano tells
Lexie she has to move to Paris and admits when asked, that Marlo
was not really a relative. He admits Marlo came from humble
beginnings and wasn't from Europe, but born and raised in the U.S.
Lexie starts freaking again. For the first time Stefano is happy
she's married to the Police Commander in Salem. She must be
involved in the investigation so they can make a quick getaway if
the truth starts to get revealed. Lexie panics, realizing they'd
never be able to come back to Salem and hiding out. Stefano
doesn't feel it's that bad, but she resents his putting them in
this position. Lexie panics that Isaac's real father will insist
on DNA match and Stefano, to himself, knows that it won't prove
anything, knowing Isaac isn't Marlo's son. Marlo's picture is
also shown on Chicago's news with an 800#. A guy watching (looks
a lot like Bo, but isn't), recognizes the picture. His girlfriend
(former "Alice" on Y&R), joins him and he tells her
about seeing his former girlfriend's picture on the news and
she's dead. She's not surprised by the way Marlo lived. She
learns he knew Marlo was pregnant with his child and people had
told him she had left town. The girlfriend figures Marlo gave the
baby up and it's in a nice home right now. The boyfriend worries
about his kid. The girlfriend suggests they have their own kids,
but he's adamant about finding his son (how does he know it's a
boy?) The girlfriend takes off his shirt and starts seducing him
(of course he's got washboard abs too, doesn't anyone have real
bodies, haha).
Nancy & Craig
return home, laden with groceries. (Great to see them both back
finally!) She's hoping a homemade dinner will make things right
with her and Chloe. The front door is open a few inches and Nancy
is worried there's an intruder. Craig goes in first and looks
around. They call out for Chloe and no answer. He goes to look
upstairs for Chloe after Nancy told him what a bad argument they
had, disappointed that they can't use the time "alone"
for other purposes. He returns saying Chloe is gone, but her
clothes and all are still there. Nancy freaks and Craig asked
what they argued about if it was that bad. Nancy remembers her
and Chloe arguing about not telling Chloe who her father is and
Chloe telling Nancy she'll never love her. He finds it hard to
believe that Nancy refused Chloe anything and wants to know what
it was. He insists on knowing and she finally tells him that
Chloe wanted to know who her father was. Craig isn't surprise and
asks her why she's so afraid of the past and Chloe has the right
to know. Nancy cries, saying she can't tell him either. Craig
tells her she has to tell him, he has the right to know and is
there for her.
In The Barn
Chloe and Philip are both naked from the waist up as he pulls a
horse blanket around each of them (ooh, I itch just watching that).
They both feel close to each other (I certainly hope so) as he
tells her he loves her. The kissing fest continues as he comments
how the skin on her arm is like silk. Chloe finally apologizes,
but she has to stop. He agrees, but just wants to hold her.
Back In The Conference Room
We see Austin overhearing his mother telling Sami she wished the
executioner finished the job on death row. He tells her he'll
never think of her as his mother again. Nicole calls it "high
drama" and Victor was right and won't need to reveal himself
now. Victor knows that Kate will fight to the bitter end as Kate
tears up and tells Austin he's wrong. She's his mother and
nothing will change that. Lucas starts mouthing off about being
loyal as Austin leaps into an argument. Austin tells Lucas if
growing up with her is what made him such a loser, he's lucky to
have grown up without her as a mother. Brisco asks Mickey to
speak privately and walks him out of the room. Kate starts in on
what happened with Austin and Carrie. Nicole and Victor are
watching, eating popcorn, loving the show. Austin tells Kate
she'd be making a big mistake if she tried to interfere in his
life like she did with Lucas'. Nicole dreads hearing Austin's
self righteous attitude, LOL! Austin heard the tape as well and
realizes Sami is right about what she said about her (Kate). Kate
tells him fine, to disown her, but she's not giving up. She's
going to use all her money and power to fight Sami and she'll
never get Will back. Austin disagrees and said the only
alternative for her and Lucas is to give Sami full custody of
Will. Nicole comments to Victor that Kate is like that damn bunny
on tv. She just keeps going and going and going (ROFLMAO). Austin
said if they don't, he'll take the tape to Roman and have Kate
and Lucas held for obstructing justice and possibly murder.
Brisco returns and tells Kate they need to talk. She reminds him
he's not representing her anymore. He tells her he was Victor's
best friend. Kate fires him, as Nicole panics, but Victor knows
Brisco will handle it. Brisco threatens a lawsuit for breach of
contract and Kate agrees to listen as everyone else leaves. He
tells her Titan could be ruined and they could go to prison. Kate
asks what Mickey is requesting. He tells her if she gives full
custody to Sami, the tape won't be turned in and the
investigation won't go any further. Lucas doesn't like the idea
and Brisco reminds him they could go to prison and maybe even
"fry". Kate asks if she'll hold ties to Titan and
Brisco agrees. Outside, Sami hugs Brandon and thanks him for his
help. Lucas comes out and tells Sami she'll NEVER have her son
back. Kate promises to get back to Mickey after she goes home and
tries to talk some sense into her son. Nicole and Victor talk
about what's going to happen next. Victor would love to hear what
happens next, but will go back to Gene's cabin. Nicole suggests
that Victor listen through the window at the mansion as the
credits roll.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7, 2001***
As the storm still rages, Lexie berates Abe, Lucas has to
make a difficult decision, and in some powerful scenes, Chloe
feels her trust in Phillip was misplaced and Nancy jumps to
mistaken conclusions.
Episode #9007 (Sweetened)
Directed by: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: NA
Could It Be.........
Glen & Barb come out of the shower, still damp, but clothed.
He wants to call the 800# to identify the televised pic as Marlo.
More so because he wants the son he knows she must have had. Barb
tells him that with Marlo's drinking and drugs, the child have
have serious problems, and tears up the paper with the number
written on it. Glen will not be swayed, and calls the NBC studios
in Chicago town. (LOL on the mention of the NBC studios).
Back In Salem.......
Lexie returns home with a really bad attitude. Abe comes down
with Isaac (he seems older to me!) and she begins to rake him
over the coals because of the picture appearing on national TV.
She refuses to accept Abe's explanation of the previous i.d.
being mistaken, and puts Isaac to bed. Abe comments on the "haul"
from her shopping spree, that she should remember he is not Bill
Gates. Lexie admits these are gifts from Stefano, and Abe talks
about how close Lexie and Stef are lately. Lexie explodes and
really begins to rant about the pic, how Abe doesn't seem to
realize the possiblity of their losing Isaac, citing DNA testing,
etc. Abe figures out Stef must realize the pic is probably Marlo,
that she may be related to him. Lexie tries to backtrack,
apologizing for getting on his case, but talks about how they
might have to leave town with Isaac. Abe says no way....and Lexie
tells him that then she would have to leave without him.
Decisions, Decisions.........
Kate is driving home in the rain, vowing to come out on top in
this mess, as Lucas arrives home and is greeted by Will. He
reminds Will of the big adventure they were going to have, and
are going on right NOW! Lucas is hugging Will, telling him how
much he loves him, when Kate walks in and answers the phone. She
tells the person on the other end that plans for Lucas's trip to
Beliz' are cancelled. Lucas gets upset, and Kate pleads with
Lucas to examine his motives. They are both crying, as Will comes
in with a plate of cookies for them. Kate tells Will he is going
to live with his mommy, and tho Will is pleased, he wants Sami to
move in with them. Outside, Sami, Brandon, Mickey & Austin
are walking in the rain, w/umbrellas (boy those water sprinklers
are really doing overtime duty), heading towards the Kiriakis
house. Sami wants to get Will before Lucas can abscond with him,
but Mickey reminds her that they have legally stopped Will's
passport from being used. Sami enters the library, and is about
to deliver one of her zingers to Lucas, who stops her with "Not
in front of Will". Will asks Sami to move in with them all,
Lucas is really shaken. Mickey walks in with custody papers all
made out to sign and Lucas is shocked, realizing Kate has already
made the deal. Kate is holding Will as she signs the papers (hmmmmmm,
why does SHE sign custody papers?) and Mickey brings them to
Lucas.
At Gene Briscoe's Office...........
As Victor & Nicole leave, Gene comments to himself "That
girl is leading Victor around by the......" long pause here......"nose".
(great delivery of that line, lol) Victor & Nikkie arrive at
the K mansion to do their spying. Victor is to stay outside,
while Nicole goes in, where she runs into Brandon and asks him
what's up.(Don't understand this....she no longer lives there)
Outside, Victor decides to get out of the pouring rain and says
he is going to go sit in the car.
Never Say Neigh........
In the Kiriakis stables, Phillip and Chloe are sleeping, wrapped
in the horse blankets and each others' arms. They both awaken,
and Chloe says it is getting late. He tells her it is the
nightengale, not the lark......a reference to Romeo and Juliet.
Chloe says how wonderful he has been, not to put pressure on her,
and tellshow girls in the locker rooms say guys tell them they
will break up with them if they don't agree to sex. They hear car
doors slam, and Chloe gets nervous, but Phillip says it is
probably just staff who park back there. They hold each other,
then decide they should probably leave & kiss, as we hear
footsteps in the hay. Chloe looks up and screams as she sees
Victor standing there. Victor says he is going outside, and Chloe
just explodes into a raging fit. She screams, hollars and berates
Philip for making a fool of her, taking advantage, betraying her
trust, and tho Phillip tries to explain, she just rages on and on.
(Wow, she really lets loose here) She quickly dresses as best she
can, grabs her bra and stuffs it into her pocket and runs outside
straight into Victor. Victor apologizes to her, saying it was not
Philip's idea or his fault, and tells her not to say anything, as
he does not want this news to be made public just yet. He makes a
veiled threat against her as she starts to protest......and she
agrees to keep silent and runs off into the rain.Victor enters
the stables to find Philip pounding a haystack with a huge shovel.
He is ranting against Kate, claiming her infidelity has caused
all this grief. He tells Victor that he and Chloe did not have
sex, just held each other. Victor calms him down, and mentions
seeing Chloe and making her understand not to say anything about
seeing Victor. Philip becomes angry that Victor threatened Chloe,
and runs out to try and explain to her what is going on.
At The Wesley Home.........
Craig is badgering Nancy about the identity of Chloe's biological
father, when Nancy finds Chloe's purse and wallet. She thinks
Chloe has been kidnapped, but Craig stops her from calling the
police, suggesting she call Belle. She does, but Belle does not
have a clue. They go outside, where it has stopped raining. Craig
spots a man's footprint, and Nancy sees those of Chloe's boots. (hey
these two are better than the Salem PD). They get into the car to
go to Philip's house, and spot Chloe walking on the side of road.
Craig jumps out and Chloe runs. She is hysterical, and not making
too much sense. A car's headlights come up, and Phillip appears.
Chloe screams at him to go away, she never wants to see him
again, and tho Phil tries to remonstrate with her, it is no use
and he leaves. Chloe collapses, crying, into Craig's arms as
Nancy comes and tries to comfort her. They sink to the ground,
and Chloe is still not making much sense, but crying and not
really answering Nancy's questions. Then Nancy finds the bra.....and
thinks she realizes what happened. She begins to cry herself, as
she tells Chloe it will be o.k., she knows what has happened, but
has to ask her one question. She is crying, and holding a sobbing
Chloe as she asks "Did Philip rape you?" And Chloe
picks up her head, looks at her and cries "Yes". Freeze
frame and the credits roll.

THURSDAY, MARCH 8, 2001***
Jen, Jack and Greta are back in Salem, Hope visits Bo at
work and more animosity at the Penthouse.
Episode #9008 (Sweetened)
Directed by: Roger Inman
Tape Date: 2/22/01
Pizza Delivery To The Cop Shop
Being Bo got called back to work, Hope and JT deliver a pizza to
share with him (poor other cops have to just smell it ;-). Bo's
loving the extra cheese, sausage and particularly the anchovies (but
only on HALF of the pizza as Hope doesn't share that passion with
him..I'm with ya Hope ;-) Bo picks up JT, knowing he'll grow up
like his dad, loving anchovies (awww). Hope spots the picture of
Marlo lying on Bo's desk. Bo comments on how much weight JT has
gained. He hugs Hope and teases her about how she gets teary eyed
every time he says something nice about their son. She mentions
the picture and how their lead didn't turn out as the guy's wife
had false teeth where this woman didn't. Bo wonders if they'll
ever find out who the woman is, especially since she was found
practically in their backyard. They talk about how upset Lexie is
about this situation and how worried she is about losing Isaac.
She hugs Bo, telling him she is so thankful she gave birth to
their little guy and nobody can take him away (hmmm, we all know
JT is really Marlo's baby, is that a clue?). The cop gives Bo the
message from Glen (see below) and mentions Marlo was the name of
the woman the guy thought she was.
In Chicago, Barb tries to stop Glen from calling Salem. We learn
he has her name tattooed on his butt (bet we don't see that as
much as we see John and Bo's tattoo, haha). She gets him turned
on so he'll forget the call. Later, she deterred him for a
little, but he didn't forget about calling. He's determined to
find his "kid" and calls the 800#. He tells the cop
about who he thinks the woman was. They promise to call him back
At Java Café
Greta's back in Salem, slurping tea at Java Café and remembering
the good time in Paris with Austin (wow, that was a fast recovery!)
Also sitting at Java Café is Jack. He criticizes their coffee
and complains it took 20 minutes to get to him. The waitress
tells him he's cute, until he opens his mouth! He hopes Jennifer
doesn't read his letter. The waitress brings him another cup of
coffee and he sips it (clearly not liking it either) and
complains how hot it is. He spots Greta and stumbles as he gets
up and approaches her. He tells her he knows who she is and
Greta, after witnessing his rudeness with the waitress, tries to
rush off. When he calls her Princess VanAmberg, she asks who he
is. He tells her he was at her coronation and tells her he leapt
in front of her to try and save her and was shot in the shoulder.
She starts feeling guilty until she realizes he really didn't and
learns he had left just before the shooting started. Jack, being
Jack, goes on, leaving Greta baffled as to who he really is. He
promises to give her the ìcliff noteî version of his life as
she shakes her head. He starts telling her about his father being
Harper Deveraux who was a Senator before becoming a serial killer.
He orders more tea for Greta (hold the coffee from Jack, he
doesn't need any more caffeine, LOL!) Turns out he wasn't his
father after all and his real father was a wife beater and he had
a sister and brother much to his surprise. He tells her he use to
run a newspaper in Salem after he ran for Assemblyman and lost.
He tells her he had to say hello as it's not everyday you can
talk with a bonified Princess, unless they're pushing a diet
program (ROFLMAO!), then you can't get rid of them. Greta starts
chuckling, saying he's funny, but not to take his act to Vegas
yet. He tells her he came back to Salem because his ex-wife and
another girl. She thinks it's his mistress, but he explains it's
his daughter. Greta hopes everything works out for him as he
tells her he has a secret plan. He can't tell her what it is or
he'd have to shoot her and being she's already been shot... She
laughs asking if all his conversations are this convoluted and he
tells her yes. She tells him whatever floats his boat and
chuckles more. He seriously tells her he's going to get his
daughter back by selling his wife on this plan.
At Gran's
Jen comes downstairs (still not having read the letter from Jack
in her purse). She offers to do Gran's shopping being she and
Abby are still staying with her. She informs Gran she isn't sure
if she'll stay in Salem. She tells Gran the apartment she looked
at was great, but the thought of Jack showing up unannounced
there took away it's appeal. Gran reminds her that Abby is his
daughter too and he deserves to be a part of her life. Jen
realizes no matter where she goes, Jack would find her. Jen tells
Gran that Jack has some kind of crazy proposal to talk to her
about. She's afraid that Jack's going to try and take Abby away
from her and how Jack is always ruining things for her, Abby and
everybody. Abby walks in and hears that, telling her mother to
stop saying bad things about Daddy. Abby tells her mommy that
what she said about daddy made her sad and Jen apologizes. Gran
leaves them alone. Abby wants to see her daddy and asks Jen where
he is. When Jen tells her that she doesn't know, Abby figures Jen
doesn't want her to see him, but Jen promises she'd never do that.
At The Penthouse
Belle and Brady talk about the lawsuit. She hopes he'll drop it
as he gets better. He tells her the people that did that to him
are going to pay!!! He tells her he owes it to the people of
Salem to keep the trigger happy cops at bay. He can't believe
anyone would think he would hurt her, his favorite person in the
world. She tells him she feels the same, along with her mom and
dad. He changes the subject to hear what's new with her. He's
onto her caring about Shawn and she makes him promise not to tell
anyone else. She's getting mixed signals from Shawn and sometimes
has a hard time figuring him out. She figures Shawn will never
care for her. Brady threatens Shawn will have to answer to him if
he doesn't treat her right. They tell each other they're special,
but he knows not everyone feels that way, glancing upstairs as he
hugs Belle. They talk about how mysterious love is and when he
goes on about how love can affect you, she asks if he's in love.
He tells her no and they start talking about Chloe. He refers to
her as "opera girl".
Upstairs, a prisoner in her own room, Marlena remembers Brady's
threats on the plane. She whispers to herself about being a
prisoner in her own home as John sits up in bed, asking who she's
talking to. She apologizes, saying she was thinking out loud
about a patient. He reminds her she's not working, but she
mentions considering doing so again. John comments how she's been
hiding upstairs since they returned from Paris (gee, wonder why
John? Get a tape recorder Marlena!!!) He starts the broken record
about she's got to try harder with Brady and why is she giving up
so easily. He knows she can hold her own with Brady and should
try harder. She finally vents that she's tired of him defending
everything Brady says and does and Brady's one angry son of a
bitch and she's tired of being hurt by him and had enough!!!
John and Marlena continue their argument about Brady. She's tired
of trying to make nice with his son and is tired of trying to
change. He threatens her to keep her hands off his kid. She asks
if it's okay for Brady to call her a slut and a whore and to
accuse her of having an affair with Roman. He's not upset when
Brady didn't tell the truth about what happened to Belle. John
tells her had Brady told the truth she still wouldn't have
believed him and that is a fact, lady. Marlena looks at him
aghast, saying that's the most hurtful thing he could have said
and John apologizes as she leaves the room. John knows she's
right about that.
Marlena walks downstairs and Brady asks if she came down for
something to eat or perhaps to attack him again. He asks if he
should turn the other cheek. Belle didn't like that, but Marlena
tells her to stay out of it. She tells Brady breaking up her
marriage to his father may be what he wants, but if he does so,
he'll not only hurt her, but John and Belle (and even himself) at
the same time. She walks away as Brady is pleased, realizing his
plan is moving faster than he thought. Belle pleads with her mom
not to leave in the hallway. John comes downstairs and tells
Brady not to continue this type of talk and Brady says his mother
would never have walked out on them, no matter how tough things
got (how does he know, he was an infant when she died!) John
reminds Brady that his mother is dead and he's married to Marlena
and that's not going to change. Brady tells him to decide then,
it's either Marlena or him and hobbles away. John turns and sees
Marlena heard that as the credits roll.

Chloe's (supposed) rape and the battle over Will take
center stage today. If you have even the tiniest soft spot for
Lucas Roberts, have a hanky near. Bryan Datillo delivers a
powerful, emotional performance.
Episode #9009 (Sweetened)
Directed by: Herb Stein
Tape Date: 2/19/01
Chloe's Lie Takes On A Life Of Its Own
There is a replay of Nancy and Craig finding Chloe in the rain
and Nancy assuming that she was raped. Craig calms them down and
they help her to the car. Nancy and Craig are both hysterical
over it all. Chloe has flashbacks of she and Philip in the barn
and them stopping. In the car, Nancy tells Craig that she knew
all along that Philip would end up hurting Chloe and Craig says
he will tear him apart. Blubbering, Nancy promises Chloe that she
will take care of her. Chloe only wants to go home to her room (as
she has more flashbacks of her fit in the barn). Nancy keeps
promising her that everything will be okay, but Chloe isn't
responding to her. Craig promises that if Philip raped her, he
will go to prison and pay for what he has done. Nancy is afraid
that this is all another bet or something and vows that Philip
won't get away with it. This type of dialogue (as well as
flashbacks for Chloe) continue all through their trip, although
we don't find out where they are headed until the end of the show.
In his car, Philip sees them and totally clueless as to what is
happening, wonders where they are going. He follows them. They
arrive at the hospital ER. Philip panics, thinking that Chloe has
had some kind of accident or something. He says he desperately
needs to talk with her. The Wesley's arrive at the ER (as Chloe
is practically catatonic/in shock and not responding to them).
Craig and Nancy promise justice for her.
The Battle Over Will Roberts
The rest of the show takes place at the Kiriakis Mansion (round
50 in the battle over Will and it looks as if this may be the
last round). We get a replay of Kate signing the papers and Lucas
refusing. He pours himself a drink as he and Sami argue. Nicole,
Austin and Brandon are all in the foyer listening. Kate tries to
force Lucas to sign, but he won't budge. Kate asks to speak to
Sami alone, so Lucas and Mickey leave. She tells Sami it's "deal
time" but Sami tells her that she is to get full custody and
Lucas will get ZIP, THAT's the deal. They argue and Kate tells
her that she CAN force Lucas to sign, but not while Sami is in
there gloating, so Sami leaves as Lucas returns. In the foyer,
Nicole spies Victor outside the window (he motions for her to
come outside) so she leaves (after faking a coughing fit). As
Mickey informs Sami that Lucas is continuing to refuse to sign,
Sami blows a gasket and wants to kill him. Austin comforts her as
Brandon looks on. In the den, Kate tries to reason with Lucas,
telling him that they have no choice, this is the only way out.
Lucas calls for the limo and tells Kate that he and Will are
running off. She snatches the phone from him and they get into a
heated argument. Lucas tells Kate that Will is his world, the
only thing he cares about and cannot lose him. In the hall,
Austin comforts Sami and Brandon goes to leave. She stops him and
says that she owes both of them as she hugs Brandon. Austin tells
her that he was wrong all along as Brandon jumps in and berates
Austin for not supporting/believing Sami all along as he has done.
Back inside, Kate plays the hard-ass role, telling him that she
has realized that to remain free, there are things that she will
have to give up, and it isn't good news for you Lucas. She
informs him that to get Will back, it will take LOTS of money for
lawyers and he doesn't have it, she is cutting him off. This
infuriates Lucas, who hauls off and slaps her, leaving her in
shock.
Victor and Nicole go to the stables to talk about what is going
on. She laughs that Kate is losing her sons one by one and that
Kate is only concerned about 2 things, staying out of prison and
spending his money. Victor thanks Nicole for all her help and
talks about what a good friend she is. But she wants to be MORE
than a friend and starts kissing him. She leads him to the hay
and he stops her, telling her about Philip and Chloe. She is
upset that Chloe saw him, but he is sure she won't say anything
to blow his cover. Victor tells her that he is excited about her
plan to drive Kate over the edge and torture, in fact, he is
looking forward to it.
Mickey tells Sami he has a court date, but that isn't good enough.
She wants Will TONIGHT. Sami wants Austin to go in and talk to
Kate and Lucas. Austin talks about how hard this must be for
Lucas and that he can understand. Brandon defends Sami, saying
that she couldn't cut Lucas a break. Austin says that she should
give Lucas some time as Sami heads to the door to watch/listen to
Kate and Lucas.
Kate and Lucas continue to argue. Lucas says that he wants to be
his own man and isn't going to rely on her anymore. He feels
betrayed about Kate selling him out. He tells her that he loves
Will so much and can't live without him and if he signs the
agreement, Sami will make sure that he never sees Will again.
Kate then tries the soft approach and explains that she
personally knows what it's like to lose a child and talks about
Billie and Austin. But the difference is that she thought they
were dead. On the other hand, Sami won't leave Salem and at least
he will know that Will is okay. She assures him that Will will
want to see his daddy and Sami won't be able to keep him away
forever. She points out that Will will grow to hate her for that
and she will give in. Kate says that she wouldn't want Will to
visit him through prison bars. By now, both are crying and she
promises not to let him go through this alone. Finally, Lucas
wipes his eyes and signs the tear-stained document. At the door,
Sami turns around (with tears in her eyes) and reports that it's
over. She hugs Brandon and takes off to find Will. She says that
she is finally taking him out of this house and away from these
people, forever, as the credits roll.
