Lexie is NOT pleased with Stefano's latest escapade...and
Hattie meets Marlo! Also more arguing from Brady and Chloe.
Episode #8970
Directed by: Herb Stein
Tape Date: 12/13/00
NOTE: Out beside the Episode # was the word "SWEETENED"
in big red bold letters. I have no idea what that means... can
anyone "in the know" fill me in on what is the meaning
of this?
STILL Planning The Coronation
Greta and Austin are looking over the list of invitees
to the coronation. Greta notices that it reads like who's who of
Salem. She notices the names of Alice Horton, John and Marlena
Black, Bo and Hope Brady, Stefano DiMera, Abe and Alexandra
Carver. She sees only one name missing, Lilly Faversham. Ingrid
assures her it was an oversight. She asks Ingrid how they got
these names and she informs her that they researched her life.
Austin inquires about Stefano being on the list, and Greta
explains that he was a friend of her mothers. Greta tells Ingrid
that she wants to take a portion of her inheritance to help repay
the people that her mother hurt. Ingrid tells Austin tht he
survived their adventure because of Greta and inquires if he
thinks it would have been the same outcome if it had been Sami
Brady. Austin defends Sami and he is asked if he loves her. (Hmmm,
I don't remember him answering that question). Ingrid tells him
that because of his part, he too will be rewarded. Ingrid tells
Greta that she wants her to spend several days with some of the
orphans they are helping in Naples, Italy. Greta is thrilled over
this and Austin decides he wants to accompany her and Greta is
thrilled and hugs him. Ingrid informs them that her private jet
will be getting ready. As she leaves, Ingrid stops and thinks to
herself, that while there, Austin will be very close to the woman
he THINKS he loves.
The Brady Factor Continues
Belle shows up at the penthouse with Chloe in tow. (Gees, I
thought Chloe just left, why would she come back?) Brady is not
thrilled to see her, but Belle wants them to get along. First she
wants them to shake hands and both refuse. Brady calls Belle a
Polyanna and Chloe says he is NOT going to touch her. Belle is
finally able to get them to shake hands and she is thrilled as
Brady and Chloe stare at each other. Chloe wants to go upstairs,
or anywhere for that matter, to get away from him. But Belle
wants them to spend some time together. Brady cracks morbid jokes
(like "when I was born, I was so ugly, my mother took one
look at me and died". He goes on to bash Marlena (as usual).
Chloe is shocked that Belle lets him say such hateful things
about her mother. But Belle says that's just Brady. Chloe goes on
to tell her story about how she was bounced around to different
foster homes and how rough she had it. She says the only gift she
has is her voice (as Brady berates her over that). Belle points
out how both of them are so weird, therefore is sure they could
get along. Belle goes on to talk about how both of them have
parental problems. Chloe thinks that Brady's problem with Marlena
is that Marlena was jealous of Brady's real mother, Isabella.
Belle protests, but Chloe is sure that the root of this whole
mess is that jealousy. Belle can't believe what she is hearing,
but Brady seems to like it. Belle just wants Brady and Chloe to
get along. Marlena comes in and is welcomed by Belle with a hug.
She tells her about playing therapist, trying to get Brady and
Chloe go get along (as Brady only stares at her). Marlena tells
them that she has a headache and is going upstairs to lie down.
DotCom
Earlier, Marlena had been at dotCom having a coffee. She runs
into Roman and they talk about Brady's recovery. She tells Roman
that Brady is determined to destroy her. She tells him that all
Brady wants to do is tear her down and how he planned it all,
starting with Belle's coma. She points out how he came out the
here and she the bad guy. Roman can't believe what he is hearing
and asks if Brady planned to get shot. She says that Brady did
NOT have a rough life, she did her best to make him fit into the
family (and from what I remember when he was little, sometimes
she showed him as much, if not more love and attention as Belle,
but then, history means NOTHING to this show!) She tells Roman
that Brady had a happy childhood, but then he IS good at putting
on an act. Hattie wanders in to dotCom and sees them and is
furious. She thinks that "phoney baloney" is trying to
steal HER Roman and wonders what Dr. Marlena is up to. Roman
talks about all the troubles they had with Sami. But Marlena
tells him not to compare Sami and Brady. Even though she had her
problems, Sami has a good heart. She says that Brady's problems
are not typical, he is evil. Roman mentions John and Marlena
changes the subject. He asks if John is making the situation
worse. Roman gets a call and has to leave and Marlena assures him
that she will be fine. Before he leaves, he gives her a kiss on
the forehead (which infuriates Hattie and she decides to give her
a wake up call, but she changes her mind and slips out the door.)
Outside, Rolf nearly scares her to death and demands to know what
she is doing so near Marlena. Hattie realizes that it is a
mistake and can't believe what she almost did. He tells her that
someone needs to see her and they head toward the DiMansion.
Marlo's Homecoming
Rolf and Bart give Stefano all the details about their adventure
and he is amused. Stefano assures them that Marlo will never be a
problem again and can't wait to tell Lexie the news. He
congratulates them on a job well done. Bart informs them that
when he dies, he wants to be dressed snazzy and for them to hire
a Dixieland band. He dances out of the room, getting a chance to
sing a bit of "When the Saints Go Marchin' In". Stefano
celebrates with a cigar and rejoices about how Lexie is becoming
a true DiMera. Stefano wonders where John is and why he hasn't
heard from him. Rolf suggests that maybe John has told Hope the
truth about the baby, but Stef hopes not. But, he realizes if
that is the case, then surely Marlena knows as well. He is sure
that would be enough to drive her over the edge. He wants to see
Hattie as soon as possible (wanting to speed up their plan) so
Rolf takes off to find her.
Abe goes home with news for Lexie about the body. He tells her
that the commissioner loved her idea and they will not
concentrate on the body. He notices that Lexie is upset and
thinks that she is afraid that someone will try and take Isaac.
He offers to track down Marlo, but she is adamant about that NOT
happening. He tries to assure her that Marlo won't try to take
the baby back. Besides, he tells her, if Marlo shows up, Stefano
will handle her. This upsets Lexie even more. Abe is ready for a
little "afternoon delight" but Lexie tells him that she
has errands to run, so he agrees to stay with Isaac until she
returns. As she rushes out, she asks herself 'what is happening
to me?'
Lexie shows up at Daddy Dearest's, furious with him over what she
has done. He makes light of it and tries to assure her that she
is only acting as a mother protecting her child. She tells him
that she is now an accessory to murder. She says that she has
become a true DiMera, he should be proud of her. She breaks down
and tells him how she manipulated Roman and Abe and the whole
department. He tells her not to worry, for there is no body to
identify now. He lifts the sheet and shoes her Marlo's body,
telling her that Marlo has come home. Cue blood curdling scream
from Lexie. (Excuse me, but I don't think I would want a decayed
body lying around in MY living room. Could you imagine the
stench???) Now Lexie is even more upset at him. She talks about
how suspicious it is that the body is missing and how they will
look even harder to solve the case. He assures her that no one
will ever know it was Marlo, but Lexie is sure that something BAD
is going to happen. Later, Rolf arrives with Hattie and she is
impressed with the mansion. As Rolf looks into the den and sees
Lexie with Stefano, Hattie is snooping around. She sees the
gurney and lifts the sheet (oh, great, now the dead body is in
the foyer, MUCH better than the living room? Now, THAT'S a nice
greeting for your guests!) Rolf grabs her before she screams and
drags her outside where she faints.
Roman arrives at Abes and informs him that the body has
disappeared. Roman tells him what little they do know about the
theft. They wonder who would steal a dead body and just WHO the
woman was. Just as Lexie predicted, the department is now more
determined to find out who she was. Abe wonders how they will
find out who she was, if they have no body. Roman tells him he
isn't so sure they will need the body to find out and the credits
roll.

Episode #8971 (Sweetened)
Directed by: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 12/14/00
SWEETENED = "Generally in production, the term 'sweetened'
applies to the audio portion of a program. Unsweetened audio is
just the sound (speech) that has been recorded during taping. The
sweetening process is the addition of music, sound effects, and
the final mix. Video tapes are often identified with things like,
off-line edit, final edit, sweetened, rough cut, etc. I expect
someone simply saw this information on the tape and included it."
... Thanks Sue!
The DiMera's
Lexie continues to rant to her father. She tells him he blew it (LOL).
He figures if they don't have a body to investigate, there
shouldn't be a problem. He tells her he had to act quickly and
take the body and has handled situations infinitely more
challenging than this. She mentions trying to convince Abe to
drop the investigation and he proudly claims she's a DiMera,
through and through. She cries at the thought, but he tells her
she'd do anything for her baby. He suggests she leave Abe and
realizes the time is not right to do that and changes the
subject, suggesting they use sulfuric acid to dispose of the body
permanently. She won't let the mother of her child be treated
like a lab experiment. She tells Stefano he took Marlo's life and
future away from her. (didn't Marlo trip on the stairs while
drunk and break her neck?)
Thanks for reminder emails..Marlo did fall down stairs, but Rolf
broke her neck in front of Stefano at the bottom of the stairs (but
Stefano didn't tell him to do it and was as shocked as we were
when he did it).Outside Rolf helps up an unconscious Hattie. She
comes to and tells him about her dream in a mansion and remembers
what really happened and starts screaming. He covers her mouth
and she finally nips him to let her go and she demands an
explanation. He tells her the body was only a stage prop. She
doesn't buy it, but he tells her it was a Halloween decoration.
She knows Halloween was months ago (yeah, her birthday!) and
doesn't buy it. Inside Stefano finally tells a distraught Lexie
to just go home and enjoy her baby and he'll take care of things
there. He walks her out the door as she's now sobbing and Rolf
scurries Hattie into the bushes when they see Lexie's walking out.
Lexie is still sobbing when she gets home (she's going to be
dehydrated) and prays to God that nothing happens to her family.
Rolf and Hattie go into Stefano's and Rolf wheels the "Halloween
decoration" into another room (I agree Laney, it MUST stink).
Stefano talks to Hattie like she's Marlena, which lifts her
spirits (and takes her mind off Marlo).
What's Up Doc?
Marlena's packing up her office when John comes to visit. She
informs him she's giving up her practice. He begs her to talk
with him and she said she'll try to without crying. He pleads for
her to tell him why she's hurting. She mentions how her husband
slept with a good friend of hers and they had a baby. Now they
can't even talk about it with her friend's husband. John tells
her to go on and Marlena is surprised he doesn't try to give
excuses about that and just listens. He will admit the baby is a
painful reminder to what happened, but his and Marlena's love
will help them put this behind them. She chokes up and says the
pain in her heart is still there and the sense of loss is still
there. She tells him she can't counsel patients after she herself
had her stepson shot due to her paranoia and depression. John
tells her that their love will get them through this. He won't
even allow himself to think otherwise. He won't let her quit her
practice. He negotiates and suggests she consider herself on
probation for 3 months and then they'll see how she's doing. He
spits in his hand and hands it out to her to shake saying DEAL.
She smiles and shakes it. He asks her to dinner, saying he'll
buy, and she agrees.
Brady
Carl commends Brady on his progress in physical therapy and
encourages Brady to try crutches now. Brady struggles up out of
the chair. Brady manages to get a few steps on the crutches and
John and Marlena walk by the door and see him on the crutches.
They both whisper encouragement and both smile at his progress
when Brady turns around and sees them there. He asks what the
hell she's doing there (his only line of greeting apparently).
Both of their smiles drop and Marlena quietly tells Brady she's
sorry honey while John holds her shoulders firmly. Brady tells
her to GO while John stares at his son for that remark. Marlena
and John step away and Carl asks why Brady talked to Dr. Evans
like that. He tells Carl that she's responsible for what happened
to him and to himself, promises to make sure the whole staff know
who she really is! Brady overhears John (holding Marlena in his
arms) remind Marlena she gave him three months. Marlena smiles at
that, but Brady is determined to not let that happen.
Half-time At The B-ball Game
Half time at a basketball game and we find a frustrated Belle as
the doctor won't let her go back to cheerleading yet. Chloe's
happy to have her company in the bleachers and kids her about
Shawn being her boyfriend. Philip (#12) looks for Chloe (do the
players get to roam at half time?) in the hall while Jan (another
cheerleader) tells Mimi their plan is about to begin. Belle asks
Philip if he's suppose to be in the locker room. He asks Chloe to
go to dotCom after the game and gives her his letter jacket to
wear. She tells him she has a coat in her locker (duh) and Belle
tells Philip that Chloe would love to wear it and clues Chloe in
with her eyes as Philip puts his jacket on her. Jan fumes she
won't have it on long and other girls are green with envy, saying
Philip's a hotty. Shawn (#23) comes up and tells Philip they need
to get in the locker room to talk strategy for the second half.
Philip is goo goo over Chloe and tells her he's playing so well
because she's there to watch him. On the side, Shawn kids if he
had someone cheering for him, he'd play better too and Belle uses
a southern accent and teases she will. After the guys leave,
Belle has to clue Chloe in on what an honor it is to have
Philip's jacket. Chloe asks Belle if she'd like Shawn's jacket.
Other guys flirt with Mimi and Jan, but Jan shoos them off,
calling them chess club geeks. Jason overhears a plan is underway
and wants to know what it is, but Jan tells him until he has
wheels, she'll "AB-C him". Jan talks down to Mimi (who's
wearing a fur hat, must be hot inside) and tells her if she wants
Shawn, she'll have to play dirty too. Shawn finally drags Philip
(literally) to the locker room. They bump into Jan and Mimi as
Philip is staring at Chloe (after giving her a kiss on the cheek
when he leaves) Shawn tells Mimi he wants to talk with her alone
and Mimi's face starts to beam at the thought. Shawn pulls Mimi
away and is concerned about how close to Jan she's been. She
reminds him that her other best friend has been tied up and
glares at Belle and Chloe. Jan comes up and tries to take Mimi
away for their "project", which Shawn asks about (hello,
how long IS half time? Get in the locker room!) Jan warns Mimi
not to tell Shawn what's up when he talks to her later.Jan fills
Mimi in on their plan for last period PE and they need some good
skin shots. Jan has a remote for select shots. Mimi tries to talk
Jan out of it, but Jan is relentless. She figures it might work
to their advantage.Belle and Chloe bought some hot dogs and Belle
kids she needs to get Philip's good luck charm back to her seat.
Jan and Mimi bump into them and Chloe greets Mimi with a YOU.
They exchange words and after threatening Chloe, Jan and Mimi
strut away. Chloe promises Belle that if they try anything else
with her, she'll give them double what she did before as the
credits roll.

Episode #8972
Directed by: Phil Sogard
Tape Date: 1/4/00
At The Hospital P.T. Dept.
Carl & Brady are finishing up their session, and Carl warns
Brady that his legs are weak and not to try and overdo. He takes
Brady over to Larry Morris to set up his next appointment. Larry
and Brady chat, with Larry showing Brady how he, too, is in a
wheelchair, tho permanently, and tells Brady how the same man put
them both in the chairs. Brady asks Larry about working w/Sami
& Larry says she had better get back to work soon (LOLOL, how
long has she been gone... 4 or 5 months?). Brady pumps Larry
about meeting Abe Carver, knowing Lexie, and then leaves. Larry
answers the phone to find Austin at the other end, looking for
Sami. Larry says she is gone again, and gives Austin Sami's new
cell phone number.
At DotCom
The teens have arrived after the game, with Chloe and Belle in
one booth, & Jan & Mimi in the next one. The guys finally
come in, and are chatting among themselves. Belle and Mimi talk
about friendship (they are back to back in the booths) and also
discuss Chloe & Jan. Belle tries to warn Mimi about Jan.
Chloe & Phillip are chattering about basketball, singing, and
rooting for each other in their respective interests, but Chloe
seems a bit distracted by something outside the door. Shawn &
Belle tell Mimi not to rag on Chloe, and Belle speaks of her own
home life. The guys are going outside for a snowball fight. As
Shawn comes out the door, there is Brady, who tries to give Shawn
some big hints about Belle. Shawn stays clueless and goes back
inside. (Too sad they are making him so unaware - Shawn is too
smart for this.) Outside Brady is determined to stand up on his
crutches and go inside to surprise Belle. As he tries, he falls,
Chloe sees him and comes out to help him up. They do more verbal
sparring, and she returns inside. Phillip is glad to see her and
the teens are chattering in a group, when there is knocking at
the door. Brady stands outside on his crutches, and Belle goes to
open the door with tears in her eyes. She tells him how proud of
him she is, and they embrace, with tears also in Brady's eyes.
Down Mexico Way
Nicole appears in Victor's doorway with her slip dress and huge
Mexican hat. He comments about their separate rooms, but she
assures him hers is down the hall, but she bribed the desk clerk
to let her in. She comes on to Victor, who will have none of it.
He reminds her that for Phillip's sake, he is remaining loyal to
Kate (Oh, yeah, and what was that limo mambo all about?) as Kate
had stayed so loyal to him for so long. Nik gets really ticked at
this, but just goes away and returns with a paper she hands
Victor. He is impressed with this research paper on Industrial
Pollution caused by earthquakes, and goes to send it to someone.
Nicole assures him she is intelligent enough to think of these
things, and of course is very pleased with herself. Her plan goes
forth. Later, Victor walks into the room to find a dinner table
with candles set up, and Nicole purring like a kitten.
The Italian Connection That's Amore
In Naples, Kate is kissing Maroni, and really is leading him on.
He is ready to take it all upstairs to the bedroom, but Kate
wants the tape... and Victor dead. They make an agreement about
the tape, and about business affairs after Kate is in charge!
Maroni intends to have his lawyers draw up a contract. Angela
rushes him, pleading with her papa to NOT give Kate the tape.
Kate leaves them alone, and the two argue. Angela tells him that
she does not care if he gives Kate the tape... but not until
after she is married. He finally agrees. Greta and Austin are
greeting orphans. Different scenes of the children at dinner,
Greta reading them stories, and getting them nestled all snug in
their beds. Austin leaves to try and call Sami, and finally
reaches her.(see below) Ingrid overhears some of the conversation
and comments to herself that ìbecause of the purity of Austin's
heart, (gag me here) Sami must be removed from his life. She goes
inside to join Greta and Austin, and she brings up Sami. Austin
explains her whereabouts and when Ingrid comments how Sami always
tells lies, Austin tells her it is none of her business. Greta
returns from seeing to the sleeping children, and Ingrid tells
them arrangements have been made for them to dine at this
absolutely marvelous restaurant.Angela and Brandon are sitting at
a restaurant table, having a drink, when Sami rushes in to tell
them of Kate and Maroni kissing. Angela laughs, cause her father
just loves women, but Sami knows Kate is after the tape. All
three argue about it, but Angela finally leaves to talk to her
papa. As Sami and Brandon chat, her cell phone rings and it is
Austin. She is surprised, and puts on a real happy face, tho
Brandon is none too thrilled. She apologizes for how she treated
him during his last call, and when he wants to know where she is,
she says, in Colorado, visiting Eric. Austin swallows that hook,
line, and sinker (poor fish). He tells her he is in Naples, and
she is surprised at that. After she hangs up, Brandon asks if
that does not worry her. She replies that Naples is a big city,
and the chances of running into Austin are next to zero. (Uh oh)
She and Brandon decide to try and find Angela, but instead go to
have dinner at this absolutely marvelous restaurant. As they
enter the doors. Fade out. And the credits roll.

A new day in Salem. The kids head to school while Brady
snarls at everyone. Lexie panics realizing Marlo's investigation
isn't being stopped.
Episode #8973 (Sweetened)
Directed by: Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 1/3/00
Bo & Hope Get Good News
Bo and Hope take JT to the doctors. Hope is happy that Bo came so
they can go as a family. The doctor is so pleased with JT's
progress that he's starting to feel that maybe JT's problem isn't
due to FAS, but maybe due to a congenital heart problem or
something else. He tells Bo that Hope's persistence, love and
attention, they might be looking at something completely
different. The doctor says to come back in two weeks and Bo wants
to celebrate with them. Guess where? You got it, Salem Place (to
show off the cute little guy). Two woman rush up and gush over JT
as Bo acts like a proud papa. Hope tells him she loves him and is
so happy. Bo buys a newspaper and reads some of the story about
Marlo. The new morning edition arrives and they read about the
body's disappearance. Not letting it ruin their good mood over
JT's prognosis, they wheel off to get a cappuccino.
Home With The Blacks
Philip borrowed dad's car (hey, the folks are out of the country
and wouldn't mind being it's cold outside) to drive to school. He
picked up Shawn and is probably heading for the penthouse now. (they
sure are driving far for walking it normally). The guys raz each
others about the girls and Philip point blank tells Shawn that
Belle has a thing for him. Shawn denies it and asks Philip to
drop him off at school, only to find out he's going to Belle's
with Philip.
Marlena's feeling like a caged animal upstairs in her bedroom,
afraid to go down for breakfast and having to face more of
Brady's wrath. John, the optimist, thinks every day will be
better and tries to give her encouragement (apparently he hasn't
had his coffee yet and isn't thinking straight ;-).
Downstairs Brady reads the headlines about the problems Salem PD
will be facing because of his shooting. (must be a pretty dull
town if they're always in the headlines!) Chloe arrives to pick
up Belle, also dreading facing Brady's wrath again. He yells the
door is unlocked when she knocks, but Belle leans over the
railing telling him to open it as it's probably Chloe. The usual
banter between them as he opens the door. He pretends to collapse
on the floor and she anxiously rushes to help him, only to have
him laugh at her and get up again. He laughs madly as she goes
upstairs with Belle. Chloe tells Belle she's never coming there
again as she never wants to see Belle's brother again. Belle
tells Chloe that it would only let Brady "win" as it's
a game to him. Chloe realizes this is true and will not let him
win.
Marlena hears Brady's "laugh" from downstairs and
wonders what he's up to. John replies he's "laughing",
but Marlena feels she's too emotional involved to deal with this.
He suggests she step back and see Brady for what he is, a kid who
lost his mother when he was a baby and lashing out at the world.
She doesn't know how to deal with the trauma he's dealing with.
John suggests she not step on eggshells around him then and knows
she can handle it. He asks if she's with him, and she says she is
as he tells her he loves her and goes to make coffee. She tells
herself she loves him too and that he's right, feeling encouraged
they can make it work.
John gallops down the stairs wishing the girls a good day at
school as they're leaving. He offers to book a massage for Brady
as he's sore (I'll take one John!), but Brady refuses. They talk
about the newspaper headlines and about the little boys that
witnessed the shooting. Brady vents that he was just having fun
at Tuscany when Roman went ballistic. Abe might have actually
shot him, but he knows it was Roman who was behind it all and
Marlena whispering GO GET HIM in Roman's ear.
Belle and Chloe wait for the elevator and talk about Brady and
Marlena's relationship. Belle's confident all will work out okay.
Chloe says she lives in fear of her mother embarrassing her and
how she gave her away. Philip comes off the elevator to take them
to school being it's cold. They give him flack about he should
have gave them notice he was coming (let them walk Philip!).
Philip suggests they double with Belle and Shawn, but Belle
reminds him how Shawn didn't even walk her home the last time
they did that. The elevator door opens and Shawn is standing
there.
Upstairs Marlena calls Roman and thanks him for all his help and
support through this ordeal and takes responsibility for her part
in it. Roman offers to do anything for her, just like when they
were married and she needed a quart of milk. All she has to do is
call. After hanging up he smiles, obviously still hung up on her.
Brady tells his father that it's blatantly obvious that Roman is
still hung up on his (John's) wife. John asks if he picked up on
that too and Brady wants to collaborate with John on getting back
at Roman. John asks Brady what he's getting at and Brady suggests
they take Roman into court and sue him for everything he's worth
(not much apparently, he doesn't even have the house anymore it
seems). Marlena overhears this whole conversation from the top of
the stairs and tells them they'll do no such thing. She asks if
this is the person she's suppose to kiss and make up with? She
states he's not grateful he's almost walking again and trying to
go after Roman. He's playing on John's insecurity in their
marriage to attack her. Brady wheels off saying he only wants
justice and Marlena must still be personally involved with Roman
and he won't be attacked like that. John thought they had a deal
about this (yeah, I thought Marlena was doing what he told her to
do, fight back). She did too and won't pay the price of Brady's
vengence. They argue about Roman and Marlena leaves. Brady wheels
out and tells John he knew Marlena was still in love with Roman.
By the elevator, Marlena knows this will keep happening and
considers going back in, but decides she needs Roman's help
instead. Brady tells John that he figures Marlena ran straight to
Roman to warn him about what she heard.
Cop Shop
Lexie is driving and worrying about Isaac and why Abe hasn't
mentioned to her that Marlo (Jane Doe's) body is missing in the
hospital morgue.
Roman is dialing Marlena's number when Abe walks in. He hangs up
and they talk a while and the phone rings, it's Marlena (didn't
these two agree to stay away from each other for a while until
things calmed down?) He asks Abe for some privacy (hello, it's
ABE'S office now Roman) and Abe tells him to tread carefully.
He's willing to run right over if Marlena needs him, but she
informs him she and John are working things out (he's not happy
to hear that news).
Lexie shows up to see Abe and he tells her about the body
disappearing. She sees the facial photos (yuck) and freaks saying
procedure doesn't call for photos until days later. The officer
takes the photos and makes sure Abe still wants to proceed with
the reconstruction drawings. Lexie panics when he agrees. He
feels obligated to find out what happened. Marlena rushes in as
Lexie's leaving. She tells Roman they have trouble. After talking
with Marlena, Roman tells Abe that little SOB is planning on
suing them.
Driving again, Lexie realizes what everyone told her about
Stefano is right, but she has to go to him for help now as the
credits roll.

Episode #8974 (Sweetened)

Tape Date: 1/4/01
Saved By The Belle
Belle, Shawn, Philip and Chloe all arrive at school as
Mimi and Jan watch from a distance. Someone puts a sign on
Chloe's back that reads "Last Blast - First Freak" as
they head to history class. Mimi sees it and wants to remove it,
but puts her hand to her scarf-covered head and walks on by.
After they are in class, Philip sees it and blows up, demanding
to know who did it. The teacher takes over and starts class.
Belle turns to Mimi and asks why she didn't remove it. The
teacher sees Belle talking and calls on her to answer a question.
She does and then calls on Jan for her thoughts. Jan's too busy
sleeping and smarts off at the teacher, who in turn tosses her
from the class. Chloe answers the question to perfection. When
asked by the teacher what he thinks, he replies that Chloe is
perfect. There are giggles and eye-rolling all around. As the
class talks politics, Chloe rapid-fire answers the questions.
Finally, the bell rings as all head out. Some of the kids talk
about how sick of her they are. In the hall, Belle catches up
with Chloe and they talk about extra curricular activities. Chloe
informs Belle that she is more interested in learning than
basketball and cheerleading (even though she has a flashback from
the game where Philip gave her his jacket). From across the hall,
Jan is telling Mimi all about her plan, but Mimi doesn't really
want to hear about it and tells Jan to leave her out of it. Belle
rushes off, upset with Chloe and Shawn follows her. She says that
sometimes Chloe makes her mad and points out that they really
don't even know her, saying that sometimes she can be cruel.
Shawn takes up for Chloe. Belle sees Mimi and Jan and is sure
that they are up to something. Mimi and Jan watch Shawn and Belle
as Jan encourages Mimi to go after Shawn. Mimi tells her that he
has a thing for Belle, so Jan encourages her to give him
something that Belle never would. Mimi gets the drift and is
shocked at what she is hearing. Jan asks her why she thinks Jason
follows her around like a puppy dog, as she insinuates that she
puts out for him. Mimi doesn't want to hear about that, insisting
she is waiting until she is in love. Jan tells her to grow up.
Mimi doesn't want to talk about her sex life as Jan reminds her
that she doesn't have one. Jan wants to get back to their plan,
informing Mimi that she has tested the camera. Mimi tells her it
won't work, because Chloe has gym last period and leaves right
afterward, never showering or changing. Jan says she can fix that.
Things Get Interesting In Italy
The orphan children play as Austin and Greta watch them. Ingrid
comes in and Greta talks about what a good time she is having and
hates to leave. They talk about adoptions and stories Greta read
as a child about how cold and unfeeling orphanages are. She
wonders what hers will be like. Ingrid assures her that the
children will be well cared for and loved. Greta talks about
people who reached out to her (like Alice Horton) and helped her
along the way, making a difference in her life. Ingrid assures
her that these children's lives will change as well after the
coronation. She tells them that they will be leaving for Paris
soon, Greta should rest while she can, the whirlwind is about to
begin.
Kate is spending her time fending off Vincent. He wants to play,
but she is only talking business right now. She does, however
take the time to flirt heavily with him and they kiss as she
tells hi business before pleasure. He talks about the hit and
what he will get in return. He pulls out some papers and she
willingly signs them (without reading them, I might add, sure
that will come back to haunt her). She asks him if anything could
go wrong (nah, ya think?) He tells her his motto is "shoot
through the heart". (Well that's nice, sure don't see that
crocheted on pillow too often do you?) A messenger arrives with
his invitation to the coronation and tells Kate that she and
Victor have probably been invited as well. She calls home and
talks to Henderson, who does indeed tell her about the invitation.
She is thrilled and tells Vincent that they can handle their
"business" in Paris. Her cell phone rings as she and
Moroni kiss, it's Victor, demanding to know where the HELL she is!
Meanwhile, in Mexico, Nicole arrives at Victor's room ready to
celebrate (she has her divorce in hand). She starts kissing on
him, but he pulls back. She starts slamming Kate, but he defends
her. He mentions Fay and Nicole says that she will never be like
her mother. She says that she doesn't want kids and would be a
terrible mother, having no maternal instincts. (uh-oh, is this a
foreshadowing??) Victor tells Nicole that there are 3 kinds of
love and that he and Kate are companions. (Nicole informs him
that DOGS are COMPANIONS). He tells her that he misses Kate and
his family and ready to go home. He calls and Henderson informs
him about the invitation and also that Kate has left the country.
Victor calls Kate, wanting to know where she is. She tells him
the truth as to WHERE she is, but not WHY. She tells him that she
is there to get the tape from Vincent. She had to take matters
into her own hands (well, technically not yet, hehe) because HE
left the country. He warns her to be careful around Moroni and
asks how she is taking care of it (as she has flashback of
showing Vincent the codicil). She tells him not to worry and
assures him that she is not deceiving him (Victor). He cuts her
off, telling her that they will discuss it when he gets to Paris.
As Victor hangs up the phone, an earthquake hits in Mexico. As
the room trembles, a bookcase tumbles and falls over on Nicole.
Angela, Brandon and Sami are in the restaurant talking about (what
else?) the tape. Angela talks about how tired she is of hearing
about "the tape, your son, the tape" (well join the
club honey!). She wants it all to end soon, and suggests that she
and Brandon get married tonight. She rushes off to make plans as
Brandon looks like a scared rabbit. Sami feels bad for Brandon,
but he tells Sami not to worry about it, there's no way out of it.
He tells her that he has a plan and if it all works out, he will
be back in Salem soon. Sami looks up and sees (SURPRISE) Austin
and Greta enter the restaurant. She grabs Brandon and Angela and
heads out through the kitchen, but NOT before Austin catches a
glimpse of her. He tries to convince himself that he just
imagined it. But a few minutes later, the waiter confirms that it
was indeed Sami and Brandon. He is a little peeved about Sami
lying to him, but decides to not get upset until he hears her
side of the story. He and Greta talk about the upcoming
coronation as Greta is excited and nervous. She encourages him to
go and talk with Sami, but he says that he is HER date and
refuses to go.
Angela rushes in, telling Papa that she wants to get married
tonight. He says no as Kate returns to the room. Vincent informs
them that they can't have the wedding tonight, because he is
leaving for Paris. Sami yells out that NO ONE is leaving until
she gets what she came for. Freeze frame on Sami's face as the
credits roll.
