The reception wraps up and the teens are still skating or
up to no good. Shawn finds a body in the ice and the best news
yet...no GOE for ME today, haha
Episode #8961
Directed by Roger Inman
Tape Date: Various
Teen Scene
Mimi and Jan break into the school. They mention "throwing"
Chloe's picture up on the website (neither knowing how, but
figure it can't be that hard). Jan pulls out a drill to install
the hidden web camera. A security guy is patroling with his
flashlight. They speculate who Chloe's father is and hear the
guard nearby. He runs his flashlight around (duh, why not turn on
the lights?) and finds the bag the girls brought. They hide in
the corner as he asks if anyone's there (must be a Salem PD
hopeful). His cellphone rings and he's called away. Mimi tries to
leave, fearful, remembering how Chloe almost burned down her own
house. Mimi doesn't want to be homeless again. Jan stops her and
promises Mimi they'll never be victims again. She sits on Mimi's
shoulders to install the camera
inside the vent in the locker room.
Back To The Ice
Torvil and Dean, er, I mean, Chloe and Philip, continue their
talk on the ice after he told her he loved her. She's crying and
keeps skating away from Philip. She doesn't know what to say to
Philip and he was hoping that he wasn't the only one feeling that
way. (the other skaters are back now, they must have taken a
cocoa break) Chloe mentions she has insomnia and it's gotten
worse lately. He apologizes about all those late night mochas (LOL)
they've had and she tells him it's more due to laying in bed
thinking about him. He's digging it. She tells him she likes
their private time, but it's so hard when they're near people who
are against them. They must have skated away from the others as
there's no music playing and no one else around now. She tells
him how angry she got when holding the rat in front of Jan's face
and it scared her, and she's afraid of herself at times. He tells
her to call him anytime she needs him. He's happy with his life
and now especially with her in it, it's that much better. She
doesn't want him to worry about her, but he tells her he thinks
about her all the time and she's like his best friend. She
suggests they go back, but he tells her not yet. He wrote her a
poem for Christmas (big spender). May not be exact, but it's
close... Tell me what you're thinking
Tell me what you feel
Tell me what you're thinking
It must be very real.
Thoughts are deep inside you
They're locked up tight
They'd really do much better
If you brought them out into the light.
Tell me what you're thinking
Don't wait until you're old and gray
Why wait until tomorrow
When I care enough today.
Chloe's amazed at the poem and how well Philip knows her. She
wants to give him a present too, but all she wants to give him
now is a big kiss (which she does).
Back At The Christmas Eve Wedding Reception
The people are dancing to Run Run Rudolph (LOL) having a ball.
Lexie tells Abe (now back with the skates) that Isaac fell asleep
and Celeste came to pick him up (I though he was home with
Celeste anyway?). He's happy when Lexie tells him the news that
they have more time alone.Shawn and Belle return to the reception
still wearing their ice skates. Shawn accidentally mentions the
fact that his mom and dad were married without all the pomp and
circumstances to his grandparents and yells across the room to
his parents he's revealing their big family secret. Bo and Hope
give the "deer in the headlights" look fearing what
they consider the big family secret (JT). He mentions it concerns
his little brother (uh oh) and then how they got married in the
delivery room. The grandparents remember being evicted and
everyone laughs as Bo mentions it wasn't a photo op time then.
The cake cutting begins and both Bo and Hope grab a handful She
dares him not to do it and Bo remembers his father saying to
always be a gentlemen, BUT also that he has to defend himself.
She teases him, but puts the cake in front of his mouth and he
does the same, getting a little icing on her nose. Hope does the
same to Alice and laughs. Seconds later Belle and Shawn skate
away with their piece of wedding cake and bickering (bringing
memories back to the newlyweds) and back onto the ice. He knows
they'll dance later on (are they going straight to the gift
opening under the tree after the reception?), but asks Belle if
they can have a dance alone now and turns on his boom box. She
agrees. The song "Let it Snow" begins to play and as
Belle removes her jacket (it's too warm?), as she picks up a
snowball. He does the same. She throws hers at him and he
smooshes it against her bare back (brr). They start ice dancing
and stop to stare into each other's eyes. They bow to each other
at the end of the dance and she
twirls away. He tries to ham it up and falls on his butt (LOL).
She goes to help him up and he pulls her down on top of him. He
twirls her around and her bare back gets cold. He looks down and
sees THE CAN in the ice. They remember throwing it into the river
and he says the river dumps into this canal. He figures the can
is following them and they need to get it out. He hands her coat
to her and they leave.Gran whispers to Hope that she thought she
was going to throw her bouquet to Jen. Hope tells her that she
promised Jen she wouldn't throw the bouquet to her, so is
breaking tradition and gives it to Gran. She tells Gran how she
taught her to say I love you at an early age, what different
flowers meant, etc. (sweet speech) She knows that even back then
Gran was preparing her for this big day. Because of Gran, Hope is
able to tell her husband she loves him and did learn her lesson
years ago. Everyone applauds and Jen tears up. She tells Abby
she's crying because of what Hope said and how she loves Gran too.
Abby tells Jen that's how she feels about her mommy as well. Abby
asks about her daddy and asks why he doesn't call. Jen tells her
daughter she'll see her daddy soon.Jen and Roman share they're
both thinking about their own marriages. She's glad she and Jack
didn't get married again and is just sorry she gave Abby the
hopes there was a chance they would. He hopes Brady's getting
feelings in his legs will bring John and Marlena together again.
He confesses that he would have liked a second chance with
Marlena, but hopes the best for them too. Bo gets ready to throw
the garter and fetches it from Hope's thigh with his teeth (ooh
la la). Shawn D. catches it, but quickly tosses it to Roman and
walks away. Caroline tells Abby the tradition being the man who
catches the garter will have good luck in marriage (I thought he
was the next one to get married?). Abby asks Roman if he's going
to keep it, or does he already have good luck (guess she doesn't
know Roman well?) Shawn asks Bo for his pick axe and tells him
there's a mystery out in the canal. Abe and Lexie like the sound
of that and want to go with him. The four of them skate out on
the ice and Shawn tells them about seeing something under the ice
and wanting to get it. Belle watches as Shawn pounds the ice. A
couple of pounds on the ice and he says Oh My Gosh as Belle
watches concerned. Shawn digs out the can and there's a hand
holding onto it. Abe and Lexie skate up as Belle cries out. Lexie
(the doctor/former cop) sees the body and starts screaming as Abe
stares at the body. (picture is really dark, but figure it's
Marlo). Tonight I Celebrate My Love plays and Hope and Bo dance.
He hopes it's their last dance and she whispers in his ear. Alone
they remember their wonderful day. He tosses some rose petals on
the floor and he asks if she's Hope-less Love and he carries her
off (hey, the cake is barely cut, guests must be on a diet or
maybe tired, haha.) as the credits roll.
Happy New Years everyone!!! Now, off to my cocoa and the Rose
Parade!!

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 3, 2001**
The canal gives up it's secrets, Hope & Belle have a
nice talk, and Austin struts his stuff in the Garden....(I knew I
would not be as lucky as Linda...aarrggh)
Episode #8962
Directed by Roger Inman
Tape Date: 12/4/00
Gee, And This Sampson Does Not Even Have Long Hair.......
Okay, I know we have to be nearing the end of this debacle....Replay
of Austin doing away with the first gladiator. He then has to
fight the remaining ones at the same time. When Greta cries out
that it is not fair....2 against 1...Charles agrees, then makes
all of Austin's weapons disappear. Greta prays, and Austin
delivers a couple of karate kicks, and more or less boxes with
them both....even managing to eventually defeating the two of
them. Charles is not happy about this, and announces time for
Phase 2. Despite protests from Greta and her mother, there is
another opponent..one that cannot be defeated, so they say.
Austin looks up, and there stands something that looks like the
Creature from the Black Lagoon (if anyone remembers that sci-fi
movie). Cue the proverbial "deer in the headlights"
look from Austin when he sees his next opponent.
Still Christmas Eve And The Mall Is Going Strong.........
Brandon and Sami argue with Angela about Brandon's treatment of
his mother. Sami tells Brandon how Angela gave Moroni the tape,
and Brandon manages to make Angela feel very guilty after
reminding her how upset she got with the way he treated his
mother and then giving the tape away that might help reunite Will
from his mother. They argue long and loud about it, Angela feels
remorseful and says she will leave town and will go pack now.
Brandon sees the Moroni limo, and sweet talks Angela, declaring
his love for her. Moroni calls Angela to come talk in the limo,
and she promises Brandon she will get the tape back. Moroni
refuses to give the tape back to Angela and she pressures him.
Suddenly, he seems to be having a heart attack, so Angela orders
the driver to take them to the hospital, presto! Brandon &
Sami only see the car quickly drive off.
Out On The Canal.........
Replay of Shawn chopping the ice and discovery of Marlo's body.
Shawn takes the mystery can. He tells Belle the river empties
into the canal, so that is how the can must have traveled. Bo
& Hope hear the commotion and screams and Bo goes to
investigate. Philip and Chloe come over, but Abe tells everyone
to get back being it's a police scene. Chloe seems fascinated by
the discovery of what she calls "The Lady in the Lake"
(I remember that movie, too), but Belle is very upset and leaves
with Shawn. Chloe tells Philip that hearing Lexie's scream at the
moment of Philip's declaration of love seems to be an omen that
their relationship is doomed (?) Abe, Bo & Lexie mention
there is no way to tell if male or female, and Abe calls the
police station to report the discovery and request an
investigative team. He is told someone "on active duty"
has to authorize this, and Bo takes the phone to do so. (Please
tell me that if an ordinary citizen calls to report something
like this, the police will refuse to come out unless......oh, I
forgot, this is Salem P.D.)
Inside The Reception Tent.......
Bo picks Hope up and is just about ready to take her inside when
they hear screaming from the ice. He tells her to stay with JT
while he runs out to investigate. He joins the group to see the
body in the ice. Belle is cold, so Shawn takes her up to the tent
to warm up. They find Hope cuddling JT, who is still wearing the
tux (WHY is that child not asleep in his room?) and tell her
about finding the body. We see Belle and Hope drinking hot
chocolate in the kitchen and talking about ice skating (apparently
Hope gave Belle some skating lessons the previous weekend and was
watching her off and on from the reception as she knew Belle had
fallen a few times). Belle tells her how they were all having so
much fun with the wedding and the skating...and then things
change so fast. She then compares this to Brady, and talks about
him and his accident, and how it changed things. Belle confides
to Hope, how much she cared about Brady, and the special
relationship they have, which she always kept rather private. She
tells Hope about Marlena and how she treats Brady. Hope is
surprised at this, but gives Belle a pep talk and comforts her.
Hope knows that Marlena is dealing with other issues as well, but
can't tell Belle what they are. Shawn arrives with a blanket to
put around Belle, when Philip and Chloe arrive. They talk about
the mystery can, and how it has "come back" to them.
Flashbacks among the teens to Jan getting her hand cut on the
can, Shawn throwing it in the river. Belle wants to throw it
away, but Chloe says no, and Shawn agrees. They decide they have
to get the Sanskrit writing on it interpreted. Bo arrives, but
Shawn only says he started chopping ice cause he saw this soda
can glinting through the ice, and it was a dumb thing to do.
Abe and Lexie come in, saying the coroner has arrived, and is
waiting for forensics. Abe mentions to Bo about the legs of the
body...as they both agree it looked as if something was tied to
one of them. Lexie flashes back to seeing Marlo dead on the floor
at Stefano's, and questioning her father about his disposal of it.
She has a frightened look on her face.....as the credits roll.

Not sure what time it is. Sami's still in the gown she
wore to the wedding, but everyone else has changed. Some people
are at work, others going to bed. Best news yet is Austin and
Greta are out of the virtual world!

Tape Date: Various
Austin vs. The Monster From Outer Space (Or Hell As Curtis Calls
It) As The Goe Becomes History Folks
Lucky me, I get the gladiator pit as the monster spews out flame
balls and blasts of energy. He finally revs up all of his energy
to emit lightning from both hands which holds Austin in the air.
If Austin gives up, he can live, but he doesn't, so the monster
turns the white lightning bolts into red ones (how stupid) and
bores a hole through Austin so we can see Greta through the other
side. He falls to the ground. Charles doesn't look happy though
as PG disappears and the Grim Reaper (?) argues with Curtis about
something. Greta rushes to help Austin (with that hole in his
chest, even Dr. Mike would have a hard time bringing him back to
life ;-). Curtis yells for someone to stop her. Greta kneels over
Austin saying he passed every test and virtue. She waves her hand
over his chest and his chest heals and he sits up (amazing!).
Charles mutters it's too late as he, Curtis and whoever she was,
disappears. Austin and Greta feel sunlight on them and they
magically appear back in the castle drawing room with a fire
blazing and they're back in normal clothes.
Ingrid Mitchell walks in and informs them that they passed Phase
I. There's only one more phase, and it's training. She says she's
in charge of the coronation plans for Greta and not to worry, the
hard part is over. They've each got a bedroom in the castle to
sleep in and they'll talk in the morning. Austin has to call Sami
first (this is just after Brandon proposed below).
The Honeymoon
Bo and Hope finally make it to bed (isn't it time to open up
Christmas gifts yet?). She comes out of the bathroom in a white
negligee, telling Bo she's nervous (LOL). They kiss and feel more
like soul mates then ever. He wants tonight to be perfect for
them (uh, how about "morning") as they toast the bubbly
(Sparkling Cider). They talk about their unexpected guest (Marlo)
and Hope's concerned it's a bad omen. They toast cider and he
turns on music (Valentine) as they dance a little. He helps her
off with her negligee robe and she unbuttons his shirt and kisses
his chest (definitely a MikeR picture tomorrow, hint) with a
candle burning in the forefront.
Later we return to her giving him a gift she made for him (hey,
her robe is back on, whatsupwiththat?). It's a white satin pillow
saying Happiness is Being Married to Your Best Friend. Gran
helped her with the needlepoint she admits.
The Carvers
Abe and Lexie are now home. She hugs Isaac and Abe tells her it's
late (no kidding!) and they should put the baby to bed. They're
out of their wedding clothes and in regular clothes, not
nightwear. Lexie remembers finding a dead Marlo and promises
herself that no one will take her baby away from her. Abe
promises no one will He brings up concern that they don't know
what happened to Marlo. He remembered her now as the incredible
loss she had in not having Isaac and he inquires as to where
Marlo is now. Lexie doesn't know and when Abe suggests looking
for her, she discourages it. The coroner calls and Abe informs
him he's not on active duty, but the coroner offers to give him
info off the record. The corpse is officially a Jane Doe in her
mid to late 20's. Lexie comments what a horrible way to be
murdered and he tells her he didn't mention anything about a
murder. She covers, but Abe tells her it was foul play as there
was rope tied around one of her legs. They know she had been
there for quite a while though. A forensic artist will help them
in identifying the body. He leaves to put Isaac to bed.
The Blue Note?
Sami (still wearing her formal outfit she wore to the wedding)
finds Brandon at the Blue Note and encourages him to find Angela
before she goes back to Italy with the tape. Nicole calls Brandon
on her cell in Victor's office and he answers on his cell. She
tells him she's going to get a quickie divorce from Lucas and
doesn't want to miss her brother's wedding. After hanging up, he
tells Sami about this and said it's good news. He suggests Sami
get married. She tells him she hasn't even seen Austin for ages (no
kidding) and Brandon proposes to her. She's caught off guard and
leaves.
Salem University Hospital
Angela asks a morose Craig about her father's condition, is he
dead? They step into Moroni's room and we see him in bed with
oxygen up his nose. She mentions Brandon and Craig picks up on
that and confirms it's Brandon Walker that Angela's engaged to.
He says a few more tests and Moroni should be able to leave.
Angela asks her father for the tape, but he refuses to give it
back. She tells him to sleep and takes the tape anyway.
Angela visits Craig for the test results (man, quick service in
that hospital!). Craig said if Moroni follows Dr.'s orders, he
should be okay, but has to talk with her father before saying any
more. She asks where a bathroom is (uh, in the hall), but he
offers the use of his own (hey, try out that hot tub in there
while you're at it!). Nope, she just wanted to steal a
microcassette from his answering machine (he was listening to his
messages when she walked in).
Craig tells Moroni his arteries are partially blocked and
recommends an angioplasty. Moroni wants his release papers so he
and his daughter can return to Italy to his own doctor. He tells
her that she and Brandon can get married in Italy. He goes to
sleep when she slips the fake tape into her father's jacket.
Titan
Victor is at work (as many others are too) and gives Marie
instructions. There was an earthquake in Mexico near one of their
printing plants and he's going to fly down there to handle any
problems. Nicole overhears and goes in to see him. She wants to
fly the friendly skies with him to get a quickie divorce from
Lucas. She entices him in her own special way.
Kate is plotting in her office about slipping a codicil to the
will in all the papers Victor has to sign before going to Mexico.
She fills him in on Victor/Moroni's negotiation for the tape. She
informs her son she's still young and willing to move on in life,
but Victor's passed his expiration date. She struts into Victor's
office with an armload of papers for him to sign with a cocky
attitude, glaring at Nicole. Nicole remembers the codicil and
wonders if it's in the batch. She sees Kate snicker as he signs
it without seeing what it is. Kate walks out of Victor's office
and tells Lucas she did it (with Marie asking she did WHAT?),
while Nicole asks Victor if he knows what he just signed (wouldn't
something like that need witnesses?) She doesn't tell Victor and
he doesn't appear concerned.
Kate and Lucas return to her office. Lucas starts to raise a
drink to his lips, but Kate stops him as Victor bellows for her
to return to his office on the intercom. Nicole tells Lucas to
sign the divorce papers and reminds him that Marie is a notary..so
to get to it!! He leaves and returns (Marie wasn't there) to find
Nicole looking for something on Kate's desk as the credits roll.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 5, 2001**
Well it's a new day in Salem (and where ever Greta and
Austin are) but no mention of it being Christmas Day! And FINALLY...John
defends Marlena!
Episode #8964
Directed by Phil Sogard
Tape Date: 12/05/00
Austin & Greta Begin Phase 2
It is the next morning in (where are they?) France? Austin and
Greta have both had a good night's rest. They talk about Sami and
Austin tells Greta that he tried to call her but she wasn't at
home. They are discussing Phase 2 when Ingrid enters and talks
about Greta's coronation. Greta asks Austin to stay and he agrees
to. Austin calls Sami (see below) After his call with Sami, he is
upset about it. Greta urges him to call back, but he doesn't.
Ingrid returns and assures them that Phase 2 will be pleasant but
Austin is leery because of all they have gone through already. He
promises Greta to stay and protect her. Ingrid informs them that
she has more appropriate clothes for them. Later, Austin is seen
in a black suit and tie and Greta enters in a red (Jackie Kennedy
style) outfit with black fur around the collar and wrists. As
they compliment each other, Ingrid returns with a group of small
children to meet Greta. Each of them tell her hello in different
languages. Greta is thrilled to meet them as Ingrid assures them
that they will pass the next phase easily and that they are in
for many wonderful surprises in the coming days.
Goodbye Angela
Sami is on the phone with the airlines checking about flights to
Italy. (She thinks Angela has left the country). She has
flashbacks of Brandon proposing to her, when he shows up asking
why she ran out on him. He asks her again to marry him. She talks
about Austin and Brandon lashes out at her. They wonder about the
tape and where Angela is. She shows up and tells them about
"poppa" and that she is returning with him to Italy.
Sami gets the call from Austin and brushes him off quite rudely,
IMO. Austin asks her what she is up to and accuses her of being
up to her old tricks again, which prompts her to hang up on him.
She and Brandon question Angela about the tape, but she is more
concerned about "poppa". She finally whips it out and
Sami grabs for it. She puts it away but assures Sami she will get
it after she and Brandon are married. Brandon encourages her to
go with her father to Italy and he will join her later. She
agrees and they say their goodbyes. After she leaves, Sami tells
Brandon about Austin's call and how it rattled her. Brandon tells
her not to waste her time on Austin and storms out.
The Kiriakis Family
Kate and Lucas are at the mansion and she is on top of the world.
Lucas tells her about finding Nicole snooping in her office, but
Kate isn't worried. Lucas reminds her that for them to collect on
Victor's will, he must be dead. Kate asks (quite coldly) what she
should wear to his funeral. Lucas is shocked and asks how she can
be so callous. Kate is bitter over how Victor has treated her
after all the time she was loyal and stood by him. She says that
he just pushed her away after all of her devotion. She says it's
time to look out for herself. They talk about Sami, the Lucas
gets upset about Will and says that he is his life and that he
will not give him up. Kate reminds him that there is evidence
that could send them to prison. Lucas gets upset with her and
leaves. Kate wonders what Lucas would do if there WAS no Will.
At Titan, Victor is on the phone when Nicole struts in. (Note, if
you liked her red backless sweater, you'll love the halter top
she has on today!) She sits on Victor's desk and begins to flirt.
He bluntly tells her to leave. She gets mad and goes to leave.
Victor stops her and apologizes for being rude. She suggests that
she go along with him to Mexico and he flatly tells her no. He
calls the airport to make his arrangements as she leaves. In the
hallway, Nicole and Kate (she sure got to work in a hurry) have a
run in. Kate calls Nicole a nuisance and an embarrassment to
Titan and struts off. Nicole follows her into her office (Lucas
is there) and they all get into it. Nicole begins threatening her
and Kate tells her to name her price. Nicole belittles her offier
and assures her that she doesn't have enough money to keep her
quiet. Nicole suspects that Kate is planning on doing Victor in.
The Blacks
Chloe shows up at the penthouse to walk to school with Belle.
While Belle is getting ready, Brady rolls in and he and Chloe
immediately get into a verbal fight. She calls him an obnoxious
jerk. Belle hears them and asks what is going on. Chloe calls
Brady a "nasty, foul-mouthed, psycho" and
storms out the door. Belle defends Brady and as she leaves, tells
him to stay out of trouble. Belle catches up with Chloe in the
park. Belle assures Chloe she isn't mad at her. They chit-chat
and Chloe pulls out her newspaper. The headline is about the body
found in the ice. They talk about how freaked out Lexie was and
Belle admits that she is still a little upset over it. Belle asks
about Chloe and Philip, but Chloe doesn't want to discuss it.
Belle knows that they have kissed and Chloe figures out Mimi told
her. Belle asks her to give up the feud with Mimi, but Chloe
defends her actions. Belle asks when it is going to end. Belle
asks about Philip again and Chloe admits that she IS crazy about
him, but figures that teenage crushes don't last. Belle points
out that they CAN last forever and uses Bo and Hope as an example.
John shows up at the Salem Inn with coffee and croissants for he
and Marlena. She apologizes for leaving the reception and John
again asks her to come home. She admits that she misses him and
lonely without him last night. He wants to work things out so
they can be a family again. He tells her the news about Brady
regaining feeling in his legs and she is really excited. John
also tells her about how Victor even offered to let Brady come
stay at his home. Again he asks her to come home. She says not
yet, it must be good for Brady too. She can't return while he is
so bitter and angry towards her. She fears that he will be even
angrier now than before. John wants to know just what Brady said
to her to scare her so much. She tells him about the comments in
the hallway that day and how she would wish it was her in the
wheelchair before it was over. This infuriates John and he seems
to be upset that Marlena hadn't told him about this before and
storms out of the room. After he leaves, Marlena calls Victor and
asks him about his offer. He jumps Marlena and asks why she is
trying to poison everyone against Brady. She assures him that she
isn't against Brady, it's just a complicated situation. She just
wants Victor's help. He tells her he is leaving, but they decide
to discuss it when he returns.
John returns to the penthouse and Brady begins to slam Marlena
and John jumps him (It's about time John defends his wife!) He
tells him that he wants him to apologize to Marlena for the
threats. Brady accuses him of siding with Marlena. John tells him
that he knows there are 2 sides to every story and wants to hear
his. Brady begins running Marlena down again and says that she
has twisted everything to make him look like a psycho and so she
would come out on top. John starts to get really angry with him
and as he stands up towering over Brady shouts "Knock it off!"
Brady gulps as if he can't believe what he is hearing, and the
credits roll
Laney
