SHOW #: 8756

TAPE DATE: 2/23/00

DIRECTOR: Roger Inman

POSTED BY: Laney

A new love blossoms in Salem...Hope is STILL just around the corner and John takes Kurt down!

Abe and Brandon Make Peace NOT
The show opens with Abe and Lexie arriving at Lady Vi's to celebrate. Vi comments on the case, but Abe tells her that it is all behind him now as they are seated at their table. Well, guess who else is there for dinner you got it Brandon and Nicole, just a few tables away. But Brandon and Abe have their backs to each other and don't see each other. However, Nicole and Lexie do. At the Walker table, we find out that Nicole asked for the meeting to inform Brandon that they all got kicked out of the mansion. He isn't mad, and says that he respects Victor for taking action. She says that all she respects about Victor is his money. (wait, it gets better). She tells Brandon about Abe and Lexie and notes that they look happy. He takes a peek and says "not for long". Back at the Carver table, they are having a great time and Lexie comments this is the best mood he has been in a long time. Abe is relieved at how everything turned out, but still doesn't understand why Brandon backed down. Lexie says he is a good guy and Abe was wrong about him. Abe tells Lexie he doesn't want to talk about Brandon anymore and starts talking about that baby again. Nicole wants to know what Brandon is up to and asks why he settled for so little and then gave it away. He informs her it wasn't about money. Not like her where EVERYTHING is about money. But, he points out to her that the money hasn't made her happy. She is married to a man she can't stand and in love with a man she can never have. Nicole denies still being in love with Eric and tells him that her marriage to Lucas is an "investment for her real future" (geesh) and looks at her marriage as a "temporary inconvenience" (oh, God someone PLEASE slap that girl). Brandon says that Lucas doesn't see it that way and he loves her. She says that is his problem and that she has a plan. She tells him that she plans on poisoning Lucas and collecting on the insurance. Brandon is shocked (as am I) until she starts laughing and says that she was just kidding. (Hey, I wouldn't put it past her). He tells her that he was hoping that she could make the marriage work, but she only likes the money and power. She comments that Lucas knows about her past and doesn't care, but Eric would have never understood. Brandon tells her to never worry about her past, if it comes back to haunt her, he will be there to protect her. She asks him to stand so she can hug him and is touched that he cares that much about her. As they hug, Lexie watches and Abe turns to see them as well. Abe says he must talk to Brandon and heads that way, despite Lexie's protests. Abe tumbles over his words, but finally manages to get out "peace brother" and sticks out his hand to shake. Brandon takes his hand and leans in and says under his breath "I'm not your brother and never will be". A photographer takes a picture of them, but as they walk away, Abe tells Lexie that Brandon is a sociopath smiling a crocodile smile. She doesn't understand, but he reminds her that crocodiles eat you whole and rushes her out of the restaurant. As they look back, Brandon waves at them. Nicole asks Brandon what that was all about, but he tells her nothing.

Is Chloe Smitten?

At the Wesley's house, Nancy is having movers bring in new furniture and arrange it. She has them moving it all around the room as Craig and Chloe watch, shaking their heads. Chloe comments that the furniture will be antiques before she finishes arranging it as Craig chuckles. Next, they are hanging a painting and one of the men comments that he'd like to tell HER where to hang it. (LOL) Phillip and his friends (Jason and Jan?) pull up outside. It seems that there is a big test coming up and they need Chloe's help. Phillip was elected to go and ask her for her notes, but he says she won't help him/she hates him. They urge him on. Phillip rings the bell and Craig answers. When Chloe sees who it is, motions Craig a no sign, but he lets him in. She takes him outside to talk as Nancy and Craig spy on them through the window. She wants to know if he is there on a dare and he tries the small talk route. The movers interrupt Nancy and Craig's snooping, but she tells them to just go unpack a box (LOL) as Craig repeats her order. Nancy is excited, thinking that maybe Phillip is interested in Chloe. Outside, Phillip asks Chloe if she always wears her glasses because she has beautiful blue eyes. She gets a bit flustered and asks what he wants. Inside, Nancy and Craig move away from the window and  Nancy talks about how maybe Chloe is finally fitting in. They talk about her possibly dating (curfews, etc.) and Nancy tells Craig that he sounds like a dad and she wishes that Chloe WAS their daughter. (testing the waters, Nancy?) Craig says, no, she is strange and lives in her own little world. He will be glad when she turns 18 and leaves (like she tells them). Outside, Phillip finally gets around to why he came and asks for her help on the Chemistry test. She sees his friends in the truck and asks if they are there to protect him from the wicked witch. He says that they are his friends and she points out that NONE of them are her friends and flatly refuses to help him. She tells him to go to hell and stomps back inside.  Nancy tries to question her, but she heads upstairs. Craig says "so much for Chloe sharing" (ROFL) and says that he is glad she isn't their daughter. Phillip returns to the truck and Jason is mad that she won't help and calls her a bitch. He says that they will come back later and make her pay. Phillip doesn't look like he likes the sound of that. In her room, Chloe takes off her glasses and hears Phillip's words about her eyes as she stares into the mirror. They would never admit it, but I think these two are smitten!

In Search of Hope
oh So Close, but no Prize Hope is tied and gagged in the turret and Stefano comes to her aid, untying her. She is happy, for she thought he was surely dead. She tells him that John and Bo are there. Stefano thinks that if John's memory returns he will be able to find them. She rushes to the window and looks out and says that they are still there (I guess she sees the car?). She is sure they will be saved but Stefano is pessimistic. She tries to get him to lie down and rest and can't believe that Kurt left him there to die. He reminds her that he does not die easily (oh, how well we all know that). He tells her that he will not give up and for her not to either. He says that she must pray that Bo and John find them. She looks out the window and says there are 2 men digging a grave outside. Stefano assumes that it is for them and tells her to think of the indignity that she will be thrown into a grave with him. She neither of them are strong enough to stop Kurt and if John and Bo don't find them they are dead.

Downstairs, Marlena shows up and joins Eric and Greta. Marlena informs them that all of the arrangements are made (how nice of you Doc, to make arrangements for your husband's ex-lover! sorry, I just HAD to say that). Marlena tells Eric and Greta that John and Bo will leave no stone unturned and they will find Hope. In the hallway, John tells Bo that there is a secret panel. When Bo questions him about it, he says that castles always have secret rooms and passages (hey even some homes in Salem do too!) He starts looking for a release, but Kurt is on the other side of the door holding it shut. Eric calls out and John and Bo go downstairs. Kurt thinks he MUST get all these people out of there and save himself. He apologizes to the princess and says that he can't follow her orders any more. Downstairs, they tell Greta and Marlena about Kurt being so uncooperative. Greta tells about calling him repeatedly over the past month, but he would never answer. Kurt (who has been eavesdropping) limps in and Greta informs him that they are there to bury Princess Gina. He reacts and Greta catches him and says that he thought that Gina died years ago, why is he so shocked now? He tries to talk his way out of it, but Bo, John and the gang start bombarding him with questions. Kurt asks how she died and Bo explains. Kurt says he can't believe that she is dead after all those years. OOPS! John catches that one and threatens him if he doesn't tell the truth. Kurt tries to lie, but no one believes him. Marlena tells him that if Stefano is involved, they can help protect him. Kurt goes to  leave, but John grabs him around the neck and threatens to break his neck if he doesn't cooperate. Everyone tries to stop John, but can't. Marlena steps up and says that she loves him and starts talking out of it, telling him to let go. She finally gets through to him and he releases Kurt. She wants to know what is going on with him. He says that he is okay and will be okay as long as she always loves him. He pulls her close and hugs her as she looks really worried and frightened and the credits roll.

SHOW #:8752

TAPE DATE: 2/23/00

DIRECTOR: Herb Stein

POSTED BY: Tracy

No Europe but you ought to see Nicole put the moves on Austin!!!

BETWEEN THE KIRIAKIS MANSION AND WESLEY HOME
The show begins with Kate fixing herself and drink and commenting to Victor about how quiet it is. She likes it and he says he should have only given them a week instead of a month. Kate gets cozy with Victor and says something about spending time in the bedroom and Vic gets mad. She gets upset at his reaction and they have a little spat. Phillip comes in and they notice his shoes are dirty. He says he walked home from the Wesley house. Victor asks what he was doing there and he explains about wanting to borrow Chemistry notes. Victor asks why he needed to borrow notes and fusses at Phillip for being slack. Victor tells Phillip he is capable of making straight A's and his social life should come second. Phillip leaves and Kate and Victor fuss again. Kate says I guess you are going to blame this on me too. Well since you said that Victor says she does let him get away with too much. She gets made and says she needs to go out for some fresh air and leaves the house.

Craig calls for Nancy and asks if she is done with the movers ñ he will give them a tip and send them on their way. Nancy says OK and then wants to go upstairs and talk to Chloe but Craig stops her. She agrees to let Chloe come to her. Chloe remembers Phillip's comment about her blue eyes and then wonders if he was just playing with her. Nancy hears something outside but Craig says it's probably just the movers leaving. Then there's a knock at the front door and Nancy opens it but no one is there. Then she looks down and screams ñ there is a headless chicken on the porch. Chloe comes running downstairs and is sure of who did it. Craig wants to know what that Kiriakis kid wanted from her ñ sex? She says no but won't tell then what happened. Nancy is not a happy camper and grabs her coat and heads to visit Victor. Henderson opens the door and says she must have an appointment to see Mr. Kiriakis (oh please) but she pushes her way in. Victor hears the load voices and comes out to see what is going on. Nancy tells him about the chicken and Victor hollers for Phillip. He quickly comes down and they all head to the den. Of course Phillip won't say  anything and he leaves. Nancy lights into Victor and Victor comments about it being a harmless prank. She tells him seeing a bloody chicken with it's head cut off is not harmless. She suggests he take care of his son. She leaves and Victor calls for Phillip to come back down. Phillip tells Victor what happened but won't give the names of his friends. Phillip says he tried to stop them and left before the deed was done (that is the truth) but Victor says he will go to the Wesley's tomorrow and apologize (what is wrong with right now?) and Phillip agrees.

Back at the Wesley's, Chloe some downstairs looking for Nancy and when she finds out she went to Victor's she says she wishes Nancy would stay out of her life. Craig lights into her and says that she won't let Nancy in her life so how can she stay out of it. They talk some more and he gets Chloe to tell him what happened. She says something about not being a Belle Black and Craig says she does not giver herself enough credit ñ that with those baby blues she will break some hearts (that was sweet of him). She leaves and remembers Phillip commenting about her eyes and just looks in mirror. About then Nancy gets home. She tells Chloe what she did and Chloe says that will just make things worse at school tomorrow and runs upstairs. Nancy says out loud ñ what have I done?

BRANDON - THE SNAKE
Brandon and Lexie are having break together when Austin comes by. One of the guys at the guy broke his hand and he brought him to the ER. Austin says something about the case being settled and Lexie says that Brandon was a hero by ending it so well. Austin says how can that be ñ he's the one that started (good one!!!). Brandon gives his usual crap about he didn't want it to get to that and says his lawyer is the one that went to the paper behind his back. Austin listens to him but you can tell there's no love lost between these two guys. He leaves and Lexie and Brandon talk more. She asks what was said between him and Abe at the restaurant but he says that they just shook hands. He questions if she thinks something else happened why didn't Abe tell her. She says that Abe tends to shut down to her when Brandon is the topic. He asks her if there are problems between her and Abe. She says they may have disagreements but they love each other. She says her break is over and his shift is up. He is staying around to play Monopoly with one of the patients and then asks if they can share their net break (hey I thought you were off the clock) and offers to go across the street and get pasta. He asks about them being friends and causing problems but she says Abe doesn't pick her friends. She says hey ñ maybe you and Abe will become friends and leaves. Brandon says that that will never happen ñ when he is done with Abe he will not only lose his job but his wife too (ugh I sure hope Lexie finds out the truth about this guy!!!!).

ONE MAN NOT ENOUGH FOR NICOLE?
After talking to Sami (see below) Nicole goes to the garage to get something out of the car. Austin is there hitting the bag shirtless and she does not waste any time coming on to him. She says the workout are really doing him some good and starts running her hands over his chest. She is really coming on to him. Some more stuff happened in here but my mind fails me ñ I did rewatch the following scene. Austin tells her she is bored and he is not interested in being her entertainment tonight (ouch). She says she pegged as the adventurous soul and says to let his guard down just this once. He tells her concentrate on HER marriage and making HER husband happy. Oh but I do she says ñ happier than Sami makes you I bet. Austin says the conversation is over when Nicole says she just hopes that he does not let Sami move in with him when he finds a place. He says that they will not live together until or unless they get married. She thanks him for clarifying that and then says that she, Sami, Greta and Eric should start an abstinence club. She turns away from him and he says that Greta and Sami have a lot more respect for marriage and a lot more respect for themselves (double ouch ñ you deserved that one!!!). You can see the hurt in her eyes. She says he knows how to kick a girl when she's down. Austin apologizes and she says he makes it obvious he has zero respect for her which is understandable ñ she turns back to look at him and says your girlfriend Sami is such an honorable person ñ that that's all you know (very sarcastically) Austin says she is trying to be a good person. Nicole says she is the same cheap slut she always was and laughs and says everyone knows the reason they are not having sex ñ because you are such a prude. He tells her the conversation it over and she says if he ever gets lonely to call her and blows him a kiss as she leaves.

LUCAS AND MAGGIE CHAT
Lucas and Maggie are at AA meeting and get a break. They talk about him, Will and Sami. Basically he says he does not want Will to be raised without Sami around but he also knows that with her it's all or nothing. And..he says if she fights him for Will that is what she will end up with NOTHING.

SAMI'S DILEMMA
Sami is reading the want ads and sees a job for a marketing person for a startup Internet company perfect she says until she reads it requires an MBA. She has an idea she knows just who to talk to about a job. She flies out the door and just in time to see Nicole stumble by (she blames it on the shoelace ñ please!!!). She says she is on the way to the car to get some wallpaper samples for the mansion she and Lucas are building. She says then she and Lucas will be out of there (yea like you can build a mansion in 30 days). Sami says that if Lucas thinks he is taking her son away from her he has another thing coming. Nicole takes this as her opportunity to win Sami over and agrees that a child should be raised by it's mother. Of course Sami does not believe her and that the only reason Nicole wants that is she hates kids. Nicole says that's not true and that she and Lucas plan to have 4 or 5 children. She says she has been reading books on raising kids and that if her and Lucas were to ever split up she would never give up her children. She says something about pulling them back and forth a problem and she would only let Lucas have them just a little bit in the summer. Sami doesn't buy her concern and Nicole heads off. About then Kate comes by and Sami wants to talk to her. Kate comes in the guesthouse and Sami wants a job at Titan and also wants more money. Of course Kate no way and they do the ole exposing/blackmail thing from the past. Kate is not worried about Sami now and says that Victor is here to help her this time and leaves. Sami gets a worried look on her face and wonders what she will do now as the credits roll.

SHOW #:8754

TAPE DATE: 2/24/00

DIRECTOR: Randy Robbins

POSTED BY: Linda

Sami gets a job, Phillip apologizes, Gina points to the turret and Nancy & >Chloe have a great mother-daughter talk!

SALEM HIGH

Phillip chews Jason and Jan out about the headless chicken. He tells them about he got blamed for it all and they figured Vampire Girl went >running to mommy and daddy about it. He confirms that and says what's worse is her mommy went running to his daddy, now HE has to apologize to Chloe for it. Jan feels Chloe should apologize to THEM being she's the one who squealed. Jason has another idea, but Phillip doesn't want any part of it. No more high school pranks he says. (lose those bozos Phillip, they're jerks!) They don't like Phillip's idea (we don't hear it), but Phillip demands it goes down the way he said.

WESLEY'S
Chloe comes down dressed in a black dress. Nancy puts homemade oatmeal (that she made from scratch) down in front of Chloe and Chloe just stares at it. She tells her Craig left already as he had an early surgery. Nancy figures she'd find something wrong with the oatmeal and asks if she's against the killing of innocent oats or other reasons to not like it, LOL.  Chloe's glad it's just the two of them as they really need to talk. After Nancy tells her what she told Victor, Chloe claims to be light headed and goes to lie down on the couch. She doesn't have a fever, but after Chloe insists she's sick and not trying to get out of going to school, Nancy said she'll have Craig come examine her. Chloe starts to feel better after hearing that. Nancy understands what's she's going through at school. Chloe doubts it. She saw Nancy's year book and read all the nice things in it. Nancy tells her she had some great friends, but she was also the brunt of a lot of jokes in school. Teenagers are the cruelest of God's creatures she tells her daughter. She finally realized that no one can define who she is but herself. She also looked around and for every lame and nasty kid out there, there were 2 or 3 that were really great. Chloe tells her she doesn't need friends. Nancy disagrees. Chloe tells her that her music has been all she's needed. Nancy understands, music was always important to her too. She listened to her Joni Mitchell albums and knew every word. The music helped her through the tough times, but it wasn't her life. The music helped her to find the courage to go out there and get what she wanted. She tells Chloe that artists don't create their music to hide behind, but to help people with their lives. Chloe tells Nancy that she thinks she knows her. Nancy looks her in the eyes and tells Chloe that she's her daughter and she's made of some pretty tough stuff and so is  Chloe. She knows Chloe will make the right decision today and walks out, looking over her shoulder at Chloe as she does so.  Later Nancy finds Chloe sitting up on the couch. Chloe tells Nancy she was right about some things, but her ever finding love isn't in the cards. She tells Nancy that Craig is "Mr.. Wonderful' and Nancy smiles and says he is, but he isn't the only one. Nancy tells Chloe about having a crush on her 3rd grade teacher and how highly she thinks of her father. Nancy said her father gave her strength. He use to say if life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Chloe tells her he also said if life gives you a baby, give it up and starts to walk away. Nancy holds her still and tells her that her father wasn't perfect, but if he met her today, he'd agree making her give her up was a big mistake. Chloe softens and asks really. Nancy offers to introduce them, but Chloe only needs one trauma at a time right now and that's facing her buddies at Salem High.

BACK AT SALEM HIGH
Chloe goes to her locker and opens it. Everyone is staring at her and she feels it. She remembers Nancy's words of encouragement and said she'll teach them not to mess with her. She turns around to find Phillip staring at her and walks away. Phillip's friends are trying to change his mind in the classroom when Chloe walks in. The room goes silent and the teacher walks in right behind her. She can't believe her students are all quiet and tells them to take their seats. We come back to the class now over and the teacher reminds everyone that their paper on reconstruction is due >tomorrow. Phillip shuts the door after everyone else is gone (even the teacher bailed quickly). It's just him, Chloe, Jan and Jason. Chloe starts to get a little uncomfortable, but Phillip said he just wanted to apologize to her. She asks for what, she knew that Jan and Jason did it, she saw them. He asks why Nancy told his father he did it then and she explains that there was a communication problem between her and Nancy. He asks J & J to apologize, but they refuse and walk out. Chloe thanks Phillip for acting like a man about this and walks out.

HOSPITAL
Lexie and Sami run into each other at the nurse's station at the hospital. Sami tells her about Victor's giving them the boot and Lexie asks if that includes Brandon. Sami tells her everyone but Kate and Phillip. Lexie fills Sami in on the Abe/Brandon hearing and how Brandon proved Abe was not his enemy and not accepting any of the settlement. Of course Brandon walked in and overhears this (he's ALWAYS in the hallway, isn't he?). He joins the ladies and Sami tells him about looking for a job. He tells her not to count on one there as the one who does the hiring is the infamous Nancy Wesley. WHAT?? The COS's wife? Oh, come on. Nancy overhears the conversation (hey, wait a minute...they're talking while Nancy and Chloe are talking, now Nancy's at the hospital already? It must be next door). Sami doesn't feel Nancy will hire her as she was the foreperson on the jury that found her guilty. Brandon says that she was found innocent and maybe Nancy will figure she owes her one. Nancy walks up and agrees she was, but found her guilty based on the evidence presented. She can tell Sami is there for a clerical position and agrees to an interview on the spot and tells her to follow her. Brandon and Lexie both sigh deeply. In her office, Nancy looks at the application, saying she forgot to put down a few things. Sami asks what. Nancy tells her she heard the last time she worked there she broke into the hospital computer and changed her son's blood type so the real father wouldn't know. (oops, busted) Sami tells her she's not proud of that and Nancy tells her she caused havoc and can she prove that she wouldn't do so again? Sami tells her that she's changed. She did what she did for her son, but Nancy wouldn't realize that not having children of her own. (got her weak point Sami and you didn't even know it). Sami promises not to do anything that's not on the job description, but she really needs the job. She thanks Mrs. Wesley for her time after Nancy tells her she'll let her know. Lexie and Brandon are waiting outside Nancy's office (don't they have patients?). Sami wonders if Buddy's Burger Barn needs anyone to stuff french fries into those little packages when Brandon suggests he'll talk to Nancy. He knocks and goes in. Brandon and Nancy talk about Sami's breaking into the computer. Nancy then tells him how Sami acted as Mike Horton's secretary and sent Mike to Rome to break up her own sister's honeymoon.

Brandon tells her Sami did it for her son, pure and simple. She needs the job to earn enough to take care of her son. Whatever faults Sami has, she loves her son. Doesn't being a good mother count? Nancy remembers her earlier talk with Chloe and Brandon's beeper goes off (yeah, get back to work!). Nancy walks out and tells Sami she got the job. Sami promises she won't regret this. Lexie and Brandon congratulate Sami and Brandon needs to rush off and asks Lexie for her help. Nancy tells Sami she's lucky to have a handsome young man plead her case for her. Sami doesn't know why Brandon did it, but Nancy claims there's only one reason he did it, LOVE.

THE CASTLE
Stefano wakes up coughing to find Hope rubbing the fabric off her stomach >(she gets bigger by the day, doesn't she?). Downstairs Stefano and Bo, dressed in suits, discuss their next place to look for Hope. Bo suggests maybe Ireland where the whole Stefano/Brady vendetta started. Bo reminds John about how he was with Hope up until John and Marlena's wedding and we get a flash of sub sex as John remembers his honeymoon. Marlena enters the room and they tell her they had been talking about Hope and how they have to find her.  The rest of the gang enter the room. Greta had been in her mother's room looking at her things and trying to say goodbye. Kurt paces and hopes no one finds out what Gina did to Stefano and Hope, or what he's about to do to them. Marlena helps Alice as she tells Greta they're there for her today. Shawn asks his dad what about them? His mom's still out there and they're wasting time looking for her. Hope sees a hearse arrive below. Stefano joins her at the window and she and Stefano see a casket being removed and wonder what's up. Stefano figures it must be Gina as she's the only one who would be laid to rest there. She figures Bo must have figured out Gina's plan. Stefano figures Bo must think he kidnapped her, but Hope is even more hopeful that Bo will find her.   Now by the grave site, the Salem crew stands around the casket. Hope sees Bo and starts yelling and pounding on the window as Stefano lies down being he's so weak. Kurt joins everyone at the grave site. Greta tells everyone she'd like to say something while Hope prays to God that Bo will find out where she is. Greta tells everyone she knows her mother hurt everyone there, but how she made her life richer and warmer. Her life will  never be as bright now, but she believes her mother will always be watching over her. She knows her mother floated up to her in the lagoon as she was reaching out to be buried at the castle and to tell her something she couldn't do before she died. Kurt is touched by this and says he does, he knows.

Hope watches, knowing the people she loves most are out there. She knows the turret is soundproof, but they can see her through the window if they just look up. Kurt covers by saying he knows this is where Gina would like to spend eternity. Greta apologizes for her part in her mother's deception and hopes that someday, somehow....and starts crying on Eric's shoulder. As the mortician starts to lower the casket, the crank gets away from him and the casket falls. Everyone is freaking out and the casket opens. Gina is lying there dressed in black (looking pretty good after floating in the ocean too..in fact, mighty limber when the casket bounces). She points up to the turret as Marlena turns away. Lili faints and Marlena rushes to help her when John orders the mortician to shut the casket. Bo stops them and notices that it looks like Gina is pointing. John doesn't believe it, but Bo figured maybe Gina was trying to tell them something. Hope watches from the window and tells Bo to look up where Gina's pointing (she's got GOOD eyes!). Bo tells Shawn that Gina didn't finish her last sentence in the hospital and looks up at the window. Only thing is, the sun is shining on it and he can't see her. Hope pounds and calls their names, but starts crying when they don't see her as the credits roll.

 SHOW #: 8759

TAPE DATE: 2/25/2000

DIRECTOR: Phil Sogard

POSTED BY: Tracy

THUMBS UP!!!

OK show - No Europe - Does Lucas have the winning hand in the custody battle?

AT .COM
The show begins with Phillip arriving at .com and seeing Chloe inside talking to some guy. Jan and Jason show up and give him a hard time about apologizing to Chloe. They notice he keeps looking inside and look in to see Chloe. Phillip asks who the guy is she is with and they give him a hard time about being interested in her. Of course he denies it. They are going to a movie and ask him to come along. He says he will but wants to buy a CD first so he gives them the money to buy his ticket. He goes in and tries to get close enough to Chloe to hear what is being said (we hear the guy say something about going to the Met at NY). Phillip gets clumsy and knocks something over which causes the guy and Chloe to look. The guy is the choral director at school. Phillip is surprised to see him there as the teacher tells him he has a life outside to work. He leaves telling Chloe to think about joining the school choir ñ he could use another strong soprano. About then Jan and Jason show back up ñ seems Phillip didn't make it to the theater like he was suppose to. They start making fun of Chloe again ñ pretending to bite each other's neck and stab each other in the heart. Phillip tells them to quit and they say they have to leave if they are going to make the movie. You can tell Phillip is not happy with what happened but he leaves with his friends. Chloe sits back down and grabs a newspaper to hide the fact that she is crying (oh man breaks your heart).

AT TITAN
Lucas and Nicole are headed to her office when she sees a man walk by that causes her to almost stumble over Lucas (she is really staring him down). Lucas notices she is not paying him any attention. He manages to get her in her office as she asks who that studly man was (guess she got the hots for anything with two legs? ñ first Austin and now this Rex). Lucas tells her it is Rex Rollins ñ a wall street guy. He then tells Nicole that while Victor was in the hospital Titan lost millions (geez as in  $5 mil). Nicole remembers Kate offering her money. She asks Lucas if Titan is in risk of failing but he says no way. He then tells her that her division is the only one making a profit (that can't be true) and how proud he is of her. He says how smart she is. She is quite touched by this as most people only care about her looks and not her brain. He again pumps her ego. She says that women hate her and men love her because of her looks (hmmmm think it could be because you are so mean that women hate you). She says that is what her dad told her. The conversation turns to Sami and Lucas says that when Sami finds out what he knows she will never get custody and will finally give up the fight.  Victor has Kate join him for a meeting he has scheduled. She says she had something else planned but when he tells her it has to do with getting the $5 mil back she says she can reschedule. He tells her to take his lead in the meeting and that Rex Rollins will be meeting with them. Rex joins them and we find out that he is suppose to help Nicole spend her money. We don't really get any specifics but Victor is sure that Nicole will be calling him within the next few days.

ABE/LEXIE/BRANDON
The police station is having a welcome back party for Abe. He and Roman go back in his office and Abe is concerned that things are not over. Roman tries to get him to put it in the past. Abe then expresses concern about Lexie working with Brandon so much. They hear a commotion outside the go out to see what it is. A cop brings in a man in a wheelchair that is drunk. He is called Sarge and he was panhandling and someone stole his money and HE got arrested (I guess for public drunkenness?). Abe knows him and tells the cop he will handle it. Abe says he will call the guy's
>sister and Sarge thanks Abe for being so good to him. The sister arrives and tells Abe that he was having a bad week because he couldn't find work (he is in the wheelchair as the result of the Vietnam War). Sarge is in Abe's office and when he comes out Abe says something about him needing a job. Abe says there might be an opening in dispatch and Sarge gets all excited. He says he knows he will have to stay sober and he would make Abe proud. When he leaves Roman comments that that is why he is needed around there ñ had it been for the cop Sarge would have spent the night in jail. Roman then goes on to say something about being in a wheelchair and about the first time he shot at a perp. He realizes what he has said an and  apologizes for it but Abe understands and feels bad that he shot a 7 year old boy.

At the hospital, Brandon and Lexie are together (is that all they do?) both complaining about being behind because of being out. Brandon say he is just glad it didn't go to trial and again Lexie says how grateful she is for what he did (oh please let this woman find out the truth!!). Brandon's cell phone rings and it is Bennie. They talk a few minutes and then Brandon turns to Lexie and asks to have some privacy (hey what's wrong with your legs ñ you can walk away!!!). Bennie says that Larry had decided not to come in and Brandon gets hot. He slams the phone down and Lexie rejoins him. She wants to know what it wrong (she says she knew he was talking to his lawyer). Brandon says she was right about him and he is just scum and fusses about Bennie only wanting money. Lexie smile and says every time she thinks she has him it ends up he is doing something good (oh please!!). Brandon says something about them not being able to work together anymore because of Abe and she says that is not true. She gets paged and this Brandon a chance to call Larry. Larry says he doesn't have time for this and Brandon offers to go with him ñ but he says he can't tell anyone. Larry agrees to go. Lexie returns from her page and Brandon talk some more. Again she says that Abe knows how she fells about the situation and that she and Brandon are friends.

SAMI MEETS WITH HER LAWYER
Maggie and Mickey are on their way to meet Sami and Austin. She says she hates to do this ñ that Sami will just bad mouth Lucas and after the AA meeting yesterday she knows how hard Lucas is trying. Mickey says he needs her there for him. She then says she wants to tell him something. She says she is bored. Poor Mickey about wrecks the car at that comment. She apologizes and says she didn't mean with him but with life. She says that Nancy is doing all the volunteer coordinating at work (along with the hiring too!!!) and she does not feel like she is contributing to life. She speaks of when Alice had her restaurant and donated all the profits to the hospital. Mickey remembers how stressful it was but agrees to support whatever she wants to do (along with neck massages at night). She is so very excited about this. Before Mickey and Maggie arrive, Sami tells Austin that she loves him - she has since she was 15. She hopes they will marry one day soon. He doesn't want to rush things. She says that she has to tell him something that he may not like. I didn't hear anything earth shattering other than she is going to do whatever it takes to get her son back (guess that's the warning that she will turn back into her old self?). Mickey and Maggie arrive and they find out that Sami got a job. She says she is going to do whatever it takes to get he son back and that includes using Mickey to help with her case. Mickey is hesitant that she can win and reminds her about the trip to the state capital. He says that she said she that within months Lucas would be drinking again, his marriage would be over and a third thing but my mind fails me right now. Anyway says Mickey none of this has come true. Austin then tells Mickey that he and Sami plan on having a life together (he doesn't say marriage but) and can provide for Will. Mickey says he is sorry but he can't help Sami. Sami is very upset by this and then Mickey pulls something out of his pocket. He says it was delivered to him today and when she reads it she will know that she will never get custody of Will again. He hands it to Sami as the credits roll.

SHOW #: 8760

TAPE DATE: 2/24/00

DIRECTOR: Randy Robbins

POSTED BY: Linda

Whole show is in the castle today. Clues are jumping out all over, but do the Salem gang see them?

It's a new morning in Paris. Doug, Julie, Alice and Lilly talk about Gina (Lilly misses her) and Doug, Julie and Alice are anxious to get out of there (Doug calls it a hell hole, LOL). They're anxious to continue their search for Hope, which is the reason they came on the trip. Kurt limps in and tells them he's closing down the castle and making sure all the flues are shut. Alice watches as he limps by carrying a white bag. He gets a face full of soot when looking up the chimney (neener neener) and drops the white cloth bag he was carrying when he reached up to his face. Alice leans over to hand the bag to him. He yells at her to not touch that (baaaad Kurt!) and Doug tells him not to talk to Mrs. Horton like that (you tell him Doug!). Kurt walks away while Doug tells him he's talking to him.

Outside John, Bo, and Marlena are looking for a secret entrance to the castle. Marlena thinks they're wasting their time there and should look elsewhere. She tells John she thinks they should leave the castle and he tells her out of the way and moves her out of his path (he was looking at the castle and maybe found a secret passage). She confronts him and he apologizes (after Bo asked if she was ok). John apologizes, but explains he was focusing on something and needed to get to it. Marlena and Bo exchange glances and cue the drums as John crouches down to the ground. He finds a door hidden in the ground (heavy sucker) and he and Bo find a staircase going down. John goes first and Bo helps Marlena down next. John walks into a brick lined room and finds a light. He opens a door, turns on another light and tells them they found the dungeon.

Inside Belle and Shawn meet up. He's looking behind pictures and jumps when Belle touches his shoulder. Mimi was up all night she explains and finally fell asleep. (my guess is she was sick or off that day as her absence was definitely apparent). As they turn away and Belle comforts Shawn, Kurt pulls a rope out of the bag he was carrying, pulls on some books and opens the secret door. Unfortunately the rope got stuck in the door. Belle sees something when she turns around. Doug walks through, asking if they've seen that damn caretaker. He apologizes for his language, but explains Kurt was rude to Mrs. Horton and he can't wait to give him a piece of his mind (right on Doug!). Doug leaves to find Kurt and Belle tells Shawn the bookcase MOVED. They try unsuccessfully to move it. Apparently the books fell over too and Shawn finds a can of soup on the floor. Hmmmm. Belle straightens the books and Shawn laughs saying it figures, perfect girl is a neat freak. She figures that's better than being a slob, which is what he is, haha. He says his room is post apocalypse, so it must be true. They compare how different they are and she pulls THE book while straightening them and the secret passageway opens up. Unfortunately she pushes the book back in and the door closes again. The apologize for names they called each other and she goes to wake up Mimi.

Outside, Greta crouches at her mother's gravesite to say goodbye. She needs a sign from God that her mother's in peace. She looks up at the turret and gasps. (hey, she KNOWS there's a turret and doesn't tell anyone, whats up with that??) Eric looks up too.

Hope is in the turret, trying to think of some way to get her family and friend's attention. She stands on a chair and pounds on the window while Stefano weakly tells her it's no use with the sun on the window. (don't pound too hard Hope, that window shakes when you do ;-) Kurt walks in and pulls Hope away from the window as she yells for Eric to look up. Kurt tells her the sun hits the window this time of year, so people can't see her, but not to go by the window anyway.

What Greta saw was a white dove on top of the turret roof. She knows it was a sign that her mother's at peace. Her mother loved white doves and they're rare in those parts. She figures her mother's safe in Heaven (ha! yeah, right Greta) and Greta needs to move on. Julie, Alice and Lilly wonder where everyone went. Lilly decides to get some fresh air as Greta and Eric enter. Alice tells Greta she understands what Greta's going through and she knows how much it helps having people who love you around. Greta tells Alice she's (Alice) lucky to have that and Alice tells her she does too as she takes Eric's hand.  Doug is still looking for Kurt, aka, Houdini. He can't find him. Sorry Doug, Kurt is back in the turret with your daughter. He's ticked off because Hope keeps bouncing back to the window like a fly wanting out. He takes the rope and comes up behind her like he's going to choke her with it as Stefano calls weakly out to him. Nope, he just pulls her down and ties her hands behind her. He tells her the bag he brought has got food for her and Stefano. He's leaving the castle for a while and they'll have enough food until he returns. The other people are leaving this morning too. Hope panics.

Back in the dungeon, Bo finds all sorts of medieval tools. John walks through a curtain and stares at the wall and Marlena walks up behind him. She asks if he's been there before and he smiles a little while having a flashback of hanging the painting and then turning on opera, taking off his priest collar and pours himself some brandy to drink. We come back to him smiling with his eyes closed mouthing the words to the opera. Marlena asks John again if he's been there before and he just repeats before. Marlena gets Bo and brings him into the room where they were. It's the same room where Stefano was sitting in the chair staring at the painting. They turn on the light and we see all the paintings in the room and the room immaculate (that alone should peak their interest, ey?) Lilly walks in (must have found the staircase while getting fresh air and got adventurous). She sees her Rennet on the wall and starts to run towards it when John tells her NO BODY touches these paintings. John shouts at her that they can't be touched so as to preserve evidence for the authorities.

Marlena gently takes over and reassures Lilly that she'll get her paintings soon, but John's right. Bo feels Hope's presence there, especially after seeing the paintings that were stolen for Stefano.  In the turret, Kurt leaves after Belle and Shawn walk away. Stefano struggles to get up to untie Hope's hands and feet. He falls to the floor and crawls over to untie her. They both stare at the fireplace. (notice all the mantles in the castle are black..you would think Kurt would have cleaned them better or painted them!).  The gang reunites in the main room. John tells them they found the missing paintings and will tell the authorities about it. John asks if they're all ready to leave? Greta goes to do something and John tells everyone to get their gear and meet by the car. Now alone with John, Marlena tells him that she knows they're going to look for Hope, but when will she find John? He asks what she means, but said he was Stefano's prisoner too. He's been slipping in and out of another personality. He almost strangled the caretaker and he can't cover it up with her now. Admit the past has a hold on him. If he does, they can work through it. He tells her he can't do that right now. She asks if she's suppose to stand by and wait? She feels like she's losing him. He tells her that's not so, hugs her and kisses her. He asks for her trust in his love, tells her he loves her and let him do what he must do. She tells him the others are waiting for them.

Outside Kurt kneels by Gina's grave. He tells her he has to leave her now. He doesn't know WHERE he's going and will miss her with all his heart. Flashbacks to him and Princess Gina when we first saw them in the turret and going to the ball. He tells her he did everything she asked him to protect her. He turns around and Greta calls him a LIAR. It's obvious that he's been lying to them. He explains it as the rantings of a crazy person who's been living alone too long, he got to pretending Gina was still alive. That all changed when they brought her back to bury her. He tells her it's going to be hard to live in the real world. He goes back over to the grave, kneels and starts crying, telling the Princess Gina that he loved her. Eric tells Greta this guy is freaking me out (ROFLMAO!!) and Greta agrees with him. Greta goes over and places the flower her mother had pressed in a book for her on the grave. She and Eric go back to the castle as Kurt stands up and tells Gina he did love her. The gang all collect around the two cars outside the gate. Marlena asks Greta if she did what she had to do and Greta tells her yes and she's ready to leave. Bo looks for a last glance at the castle and gets in the car. Hope and Stefano look for things to burn and she starts pulling out the paintings Gina had hid in the closet (bye bye John). She looks out the window and sees the cars pulling away as she calls for Bo to come back. The fire is crackling, but so far no smoke is coming in the room. Hope is sobbing at the window and Stefano calls her name. He crawls over to put another painting on the fire, coughing and gasping all the way. He watches the painting catch fire and realizes in shock that it was the real SPRING MORNING painting. Smoke overtakes the turret room and Stefano and Hope both collapse.

John is driving the first car with Belle and Marlena in the front seat with him. John wonders why Bo is driving so slowly in the second car. Marlena figures Bo's having a hard time leaving. In the second car we see Bo driving with Shawn and Alice in the front seat and Lilly, Eric and Greta in the back (gee, Julie, Doug and Mimi are sure quiet in the back seat of John's car ;-)   As they're driving down the road, Alice looks in the rear view mirror and comments about how Kurt shut all the flues. Eric said they saw Kurt with his bags and he was gone. Hope comes to and starts calling for help as the room is on fire as the credits roll.
