Very good show...LOTS of action! But even better if you
fast forward through the Kate and Victor scenes, IMO!! (They slow
the show down).
Episode #8938
Directed by Herb Stein
Tape Date: 10/25/00
Trouble On The Irish Seas
Bo, Jen and Abby are still battling the storm on the Irish seas.
First of all, Abby falls overboard and Bo rescues her. They find
a raft, but it has a hole in it (they think put there by Annie).
Below, Bo finds another one and they all pile into it as the boat
starts sinking. He also found a flare gun and fires it, hoping
that help will come. Abby is terrified and Jen begins to sing
"Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ra". Later, Abby points out that her
singing calmed the storm. But it's not over, as Jen discovers
that this raft has a hole in it as well. Bo shoots another flare,
but only has one left. They bail out of the raft into the ocean.
How will they ever make it? Hmmm, didn't Doug and Julie mention
last week that they were on a cruise to Ireland? Do ya think.?
The Afterglow Burns Out Quickly
Kate and Victor have finally done it, but Kate can tell something
is troubling Victor. He has flashbacks of his hot tryst in the
back of the limo with Nicole. He also has flashbacks of his
lawyer telling him to dump Kate and of Phillip asking about them
getting married. Kate asks what he is thinking about. He lies and
tells her that he is worried about Brady and explains to her. She
urges him back to bed and tries to talk to him. He becomes
agitated and doesn't want to talk. He tells her that things
change, people change. She assures him that one constant is her
love and commitment to him. She asks him point blank if he still
wants her for his wife?
The Homecoming
At the hospital, Marlena returns to Belle's room and can't find
her. She immediately calls Roman in a panic. While on the phone,
Shawn and Mimi bring Belle back. Belle asks her why she is acting
so strange. Shawn goes to call Roman and let him know all is okay.
Belle and Mimi tell Marlena about what Nancy did and how rude she
was. She also asks where her dad and Brady are. Marlena is in a
hurry to get Belle home but Belle begs her to tell her what
happened. She knows that everyone is keeping something from her.
Shawn calls Roman and finds out that they haven't found Brady yet
but are hot on his trail. After he gets off the phone, Abe tells
Roman that questioning Belle wouldn't be such a good idea. As
Belle continues to question everyone, Mimi starts to explain what
happened, but Marlena and Shawn interrupt her. They pack Belle up
to leave and head home. They arrive at the penthouse and Marlena
dotes and hovers over Belle. She finally tells her to go upstairs
and lie down and she will be fine with her friends. Marlena
finally decides to do so. The kids talk about what Nancy did and
Mimi takes the opportunity to turn the conversation and rag on
Chloe. She starts imitating her and says that she is so weird,
almost as weird as Brady. Belle again asks what is going on with
Brady but no one will answer her. She decides to call her dad.
Upstairs, Marlena is on the phone with John and tells him about
Belle being at home. But he hears something on the radio and cuts
her short. She immediately hangs up and calls Roman for an update.
Meanwhile, Brady and the rattlesnake are still by the side of the
road. The snake scurries away and Brady hears sirens and hides in
the bushes. Later, he arrives at Dukes Truck Stop. He finds a
ball cap in the trash and goes inside to buy some sunglasses and
food. There is a woman with 2 small kids there and they have
water pistols, and shoot at Brady. They want him to play with
them as one of the kids pulls another piston from their bag.
Meanwhile Roman and Abe get a tip that Brady is in the area and
decide to stop and talk to Duke. Belle calls and gets through to
John and asks him where Brady is. He evades her questions as he
gets stopped by a train. She hears the train whistle in the
background and has flashbacks of the accident. She remembers
everything and tells John that Brady saved her life. Marlena
walks up behind her and overhears it all. John is excited and
tells Belle he has to go. Marlena asks her about her memories and
she accuses Marlena of not believing her, because that would make
Brady a good guy and prove that he loves her. Marlena, in shock,
sits down on the sofa asking "what is happening to me?"
Belle demands to know where Brady is.
Roman and Abe arrive outside Dukes and look in the window as
Brady is playing cops and robbers with the kids and think he is
holding up the place. They rush in, with guns pulled. Roman steps
in a puddle of the water and slips and his gun goes off. Brady
whirls around and Abe shoots him and he crumples to the floor.
Just as John rushes in and see it all. Freeze frame on John's
face, as the credits roll.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2000****
Another good show as Bo, Jen and Abby are rescued and
Brady rushed to the hospital. Belle and Marlena talk about Brady.
Episode #8939
Directed by Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 10/26/00
Hope & Lexie
At the Carver's, Lexie tries on her bridesmaid gown (long sleek
black dress and looks lovely) while Hope tries on her wedding
gown (they must be kidding as Hope would never wear anything like
that). Hope is anxious for Bo's return and to show him how much
she loves him. Lexie asks when Marlena's gown will be fitted, but
Hope tells her Marlena is busy and asks to change the subject.
After the seamstress leaves, the gals hold their sons and Hope
asks where Abe is. She's taken back when Lex tells her that Abe
is out looking for John's son. Lexie hopes Abe finds Brady before
he does any harm to himself or his family. She tells Hope she
would kill anyone trying to hurt Isaac and Hope welcomes her to
motherhood. Cue Hope's cellphone below.
The Calm Irish Seas
Jen, Abby and Bo float in the ever-so-calm sea. Bo shoots up the
last flare. A flare is shot up in the air and Bo sees a large
boat coming their way. He tells Jen and Abby to wave and get the
boat's attention (lol as Bo and Jen wave UP to the ship calling
for help while Abby smiles and waves at the camera) Onboard the
NYC bound cruise ship (guess they left Ireland already?), Doug
and Julie make their way to the front of the crowd and surprised
to see Jennifer and Abby (Bo is turned around talking to the
captain). They call Jen's name and when Bo hears Jen say Julie
and Doug, turns around himself. Julie is so shocked she passes
out into Doug's arms.Once the shock wears off, Bo & Jen offer
a lame excuse as to how they landed in the Atlantic Ocean. One of
the ship's staff tells Abby about their movies and all night
dessert bar and whisks her off to see it (how about going inside
where it's warm and some dry clothes first? Nah.. They continue
standing on deck with just blankets and a towel wrapped around
their neck.) Doug and Julie realize they aren't going to tell
what really happened and find out the bottom line is that they're
headed home for Salem. Bo borrows Julie's cellphone and calls
Hope's cellphone. She fortunately has her phone with her and is
happy to hear his voice. He tells her he called to tell her and
his boys that he's heading home and bringing a big surprise.
Belle Demands An Answer
Belle demands to see Brady and gets upset when no one tells her
what's happening. She refuses to be coddled and again demands an
explanation. Marlena is evasive and Mimi tries to defend
Marlena's actions. Shawn takes Belle's hands and asks her to tell
exactly about what happened the night she was hurt. Belle agrees
and tells the three of them the whole story. Marlena is crying as
she hears and Mimi can't handle even hearing about it as Belle
tells them. She tells them how Brady tried to wedge her foot out
of the track with a metal bar (cue surprised look on Marlena's
face). She tells them how she tried to get Brady to get away so
he wouldn't die with her, but he refused to do so and was willing
to die along with her. She tells them about Brady finding grease
on the track and her reciting the Lord's Prayer. Marlena just
sits and listens and after Belle finishes, Mimi finally comes up
and tells Belle how thankful she is that Belle's okay. Belle asks
Marlena why she doesn't say anything and accuses her of wanting
to believe the worst about Brady. Marlena tells he that some
patients that experience trauma get a little fuzzy about what
happened and Belle tells her she's NOT her patient and everything
is so clear about what happened. She asks Shawn and Mimi politely
to leave so she can talk to her mom. Shawn gives her a nice hug
goodbye and Marlena sees them out with Belle. After they left,
Belle figures out that Marlena used Brady to blame for her
accident. Marlena explains that Brady didn't offer an explanation
and Belle explains that Brady doesn't operate that way. She asks
her mother why she hates Brady so much. She tells Marlena that
Brady has never said a bad thing to her about her mom and
explained his feelings that a child's feelings toward their
parents are sacred and he would never say anything to change that
for Belle. The two argue and Marlena agrees to try and find out
where Brady is. Marlena tells Belle she loves her and now tired,
Belle hugs her mom and goes upstairs to bed. Marlena tells
herself that Belle is probably covering for Brady. In the
hallway, Shawn and Mimi talk about how Brady's been innocent all
along. Shawn is anxious to talk with Belle alone soon.
Shootout At The Diner
A replay of Roman slipping on the water fallout of the water
pistol fight and his gun going off. Abe shoots at Brady (twice)
and he falls to the ground. John rushes in and over to Brady and
feels for a pulse. He cradles his son while Salem's two top cops
stand and stare (how about SOMEONE calling 911). John asks Abe
why he killed his boy and Abe has the infamous flashback of the
time he shot Larry. He drops his gun and goes outside. John is
determined not to lose his son and starts a fast paced cpr on him.
Roman picks up Abe's gun and trying to decide whether to go after
Abe or help John, falls to his knees and starts breathing into
Brady's mouth while John pumps away on his chest. Outside a crowd
gathers and tells Abe they saw what happened and call him a kid
killer while Abe breaks down. The crowd yells at him and Abe
learns it was a water pistol that Brady was using. (another great
job by James Reynolds today)Inside Brady comes to with blood
running from his mouth. John tells him it's just a flesh wound to
the shoulder and Roman apologizes and starts reading Brady his
rights. John tries to help Brady up and feels blood on Brady's
back and realizes he was shot there too. Roman and Duke rush for
a tablecloth to help stop the bleeding while Brady tells John he
can't feel his legs. A doctor (in a suit and tie) rushes in with
his bag and the mother of the boys tells Duke the kid was just
playing with her kids. Roman tells John that the ambulance is a
couple miles away and asks if there's anything else he can do.
John tells him yes, stay away from me. Roman tells the mother she
might have to testify and she explains Brady was just playing
with her boys. Roman recognizes the woman and tells the boys
their father was a good cop and they miss him. (I know I'll get
flak, but I find it hard to believe a police officer's widow
would buy her sons a water pistol that looks like a real gun to
use, especially if he was fatally shot in the line of duty.) The
boys ask Brady for a rematch and he agrees as they wheel him out.
Molly (the mother) tells John that he has a good boy there. John
and Abe exchange looks as John goes off in the ambulance with
Brady.Roman joins Abe outside and tells him that Brady isn't dead.
He assures Abe he did the right thing and it wasn't his fault.
Abe asks where Brady was hit and Roman reluctantly tells him in
the back and Brady can't feel his legs. Worried about Abe, Roman
calls Lexie at home (who just got the good news that Bo was
coming home) and tells her about Abe's shooting Brady and how
Brady might be paralyzed. (hopefully his next call is to Marlena)
Lexie drops the phone and Hope tries to find out what happened as
the credits roll.

Boo Hoo, the Garden is back (unlucky me) and jealousy
rears it's ugly head throughout Salem.
Episode #8940
Directed by Phil Sogard
Tape Date: 10/27/00
In The Ridiculous Garden.......
Greta (who is still sick) & Ausdum talk about what they miss
back in Salem. A talking flower pops up out of the ground telling
Greta to eat the petals and her health will be miraculously
restored. She does and it is. They have a serious discussion
about Carrie, Sami, Lucas, Will and why Austin seems to love Sami.
They talk about Lucas & Sami's relationship and what is right
for Will. Greta moans a bit how everyone thinks she is so bland,
but she does have a temper. They banter back & forth, and
then cue fern & flowers trembling. And envelope flutters down.......and
they have earned the virtue Honesty. A cute bunny rabbit appears,
then a huge mean dog appears, barking it's head off. It changes
into a disgusting looking monster of a man (whose face reminds me
of Austin for some reason) who mutters "hungry", picks
up the bunny and proceeds to eat it. (This is so gross..although
we don't see him "eat it", it is very clear that that's
what he's doing) Austin and Greta huddle together with a scared
look on their faces.
At Brandon's Apartment........
Sami arrives and Brandon opens the door in the mandatory just out
of the shower towel. (This guy must take 5 or 6 a day, if anyone
is looking for Christmas ideas for him, how about a robe?) Sami
tells him what happened at the Kiriakis mansion and about how
Nicole must know something, cause Lucas told her to shut her
mouth. Brandon gets upset at the idea of his sister being
involved in any way. Sami babbles on about getting the tape from
Angela, and wants to know how Brandon managed to evade sleeping
with her. They are on the balcony (with Brandon nervously looking
into his shower where Angela's showering), and Sami turns to see
Angela in the shower, realizing they DID the deed, and is
devastated. She wants him to end this, and this is impossible.
Angela comes out in a towel (ok, make that TWO robes, haha), and
taunts Sami a bit about Austin being away with another woman,
then goes to get dressed. She comes out (guess Brandon has a hair
dryer as her hair is now dry) talking about having a key to
Sami's apt. so she can let herself in and kisses Brandon goodbye
and leaves. Sami is crying.
At The Kiriakis Mansion..........
Kate is wide awake in bed, flashing back to her and Victor
kissing, and gets up, unable to sleep. She goes downstairs,
finding Lucas asleep (a drunken stupor) on the sofa with Will on
the other side of the couch, also asleep. She wakes Lucas,
scolding him and he pours himself some water. She throws it in
his face, telling him he has to be alert for what she wants to
tell him. Will wakes up, and Lucas takes him to bed. Kate tells
him to be sure to come back as she has a solution to their
problem. When he returns, Kate tells him that Victor's recovery
is "complete" and Lucas catches on. (Duhhhhhh!) She
plans to tear up the codicil to the will, which is in her
briefcase at the office. Kate talks about how Maroni is taken
with her, and she plans to pump him about Angela, and hint to him
how bad Brandon would be for Angela. She leaves and Will comes in
after having a bad dream and cuddles up with Lucas on the sofa.
Lucas promises Will to never let him go and Will tells his daddy
he loves him.Meanwhile Nicole sees Kate leave the bedroom and
gets that Cheshire cat smile on her face. She nearly walks into
the bedroom, but turns away. She runs into Philip, who is
worrying about Chloe. Nicole convinces him to call her, then
manages to turn the conversation to Kate and Victor. Philip tells
her how he overheard Kate talking (and he misunderstood the
conversation) about the will and how she would only be safe if
Victor made a new one. He leaves and Nicole returns to her room.
Victor awakens, and looks around for Kate, leaving his bedroom
door open. Nicole comes in wearing a sexy nightie, and comes on
to Victor big time. She kisses him, but Victor pulls away. Nicole
says they should make their announcement soon and together. She
claims she has plenty of money, but nothing wrong with having
more, and they are so good together. She has a more youthful
outlook, and he has years of expertise. She leaves and Victor
mutters that she must still think she has the money......and that
she really deserves to have it since she must put up with Lucas.
(Puleeeze!)Kate sees Nicole leaving Victor's bedroom, and is
wondering what is up. Nicole knows Kate saw her, and gets dressed
to go out. She realizes the will codicil must be at the office,
and leaves, saying 5 million will be peanuts compared to what she
will eventually extort from this family.
At Dot Com.........
Shawn is phoning Chloe to tell her about Belle being released
from the hospital. Jan & Jason overhear and are ripe to make
trouble. Shawn asks Chloe to meet him at dotCom (guess Hope
doesn't worry about Shawn being out so late) and Mimi overhears
Chloe agree. Mimi follows Chloe, murmoring how two-timing Chloe
is, and runs into Jan & Jason outside the place. (Must not be
any curfew in Salem....and what are all these teens doing out on
the streets at this time of night.....oh, wait, this is Salem. In
some areas of the city it is only 8 p.m., I forgot). Shawn &
Chloe talk about the time Chloe took Brady to the hospital.
Meanwhile Jason calls Philip, tells him Chloe is doubletiming him
with his best friend and in a corner table with Shawn, and rags
on him about Chloe's new boy toy. Philip gets very angry, but
decides to go to dotCom and see for himself. As he leaves the
mansion, he sees Nicole driving off in a big hurry. Back at
dotCom Chloe is smiling across the table at Shawn. And the
credits roll.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2000**
Shawn & Philip fight, Abe returns home and Kate is
pleasantly surprised.
Episode #8941
Directed by Roger Inman
Tape Date: 10/28/00
Woe Is Abe
Abe returns home to find Lexie pacing with Isaac (doesn't that
kid ever sleep?). She tries to get Abe to hold Isaac and
reassures her husband what a good man he is, but he, on the verge
of tears, wished he was shot instead of Brady. He continues to
mentally beat himself up (time to change occupations Abe?) while
Lexie attempts to convince him that he did the only thing he
could have. He's sure Brandon will use this shooting to support
his police brutality accusations. He states Brandon's doing this
just because he doesn't like Abe's relationship with his mother.
Lexie asks what he means by that (oops). He tells her about
stopping by the diner for a coffee break and Fay telling him how
Brandon blames Abe for all his father's beatings. He knows
Brandon has it in for him (oh yeah, big time bud!) Abe now agrees
that he needs to be punished for what he's done. Holding Abe,
Lexie prays to God out loud to help her husband through this
difficult time. She puts his head on her shoulder to comfort him.
Dot Com
Chloe and Shawn move to another table as Chloe was cold at the
first one. A cup of tea is delivered to them that they didn't
order and Shawn assumes "Ace" sent it as he likes Chloe.
(J&J probably did it to keep them there until Philip arrives)
They resume their discussion about Brady. Shawn can't figure out
why Brady didn't just tell everyone what happened. Chloe tells
Shawn that Brady is different than others, in his own world.
Shawn comments that Chloe and Brady are alike and brings up Chloe
and Brady both being raised without a mother, but Chloe reminds
him how different the situations were. She asks him to open his
hand as her piano teacher told her the distance between the base
of the thumb and the pinkie is an indicator of how well they can
play. Outside the mean-teens (Jan, Jason and especially Mimi)
taunt Philip with lies about rumors that Shawn and Chloe are
going out behind his back. Through the window Philip gazes in to
see Shawn hold his hand up for Chloe (see above paragraph) to see
and she puts her hand on top of his. Mimi calls it a prelude to
love based on a movie she saw last summer. Philip gets outraged (after
the blood on the head at the prom you would think he'd know these
jerks well enough to not believe them!). Mimi is thrilled as she
watches Philip rush in and shove Shawn into a table. Philip then
grabs Chloe saying she's going with him. Not so Phily! Chloe asks
what the hell is wrong with him and asks Shawn if he's okay.
Shawn launches at Philip and gives him a right hook in the face
and the two wrestle on the floor. After some fighting they are
pulled apart by guards/cops. Jan and Jason are laughing in the
background during the fight while Mimi can't believe what's going
on. She wants to make sure Shawn is okay after the fight, but
J&J pull her outside and remind her that SHE was the one who
instigated it. Mimi realizes (duh) that it was wrong and how
Belle was right about them (J&J). J&J don't even blink
when they turn on Mimi and tell her Belle just feels sorry for
the homeless girl and how no one would want to go out with her. (oh
please I hope the writers have J&J get THEIR just desserts
soon)Inside the guys offer to pay for any damage and are warned
if they do that again, they're outta there (yeah, right, I'm sure
they'd get away that easy. A couple 16 year olds trash a place
and the owner will believe that they'll pay for it? Ha!) Shawn
and Chloe tell Philip what was going on and how J&J&M
yanked his chain. Philip accuses Chloe of rushing to Brady's
defense (the boy's got it bad!) and Chloe grabs her purse and
tells Philip never to call her again. Shawn tells Philip he got
what he deserved, losing his girlfriend. Mimi has her own pity
party while Shawn finds Chloe outside. He offers to walk her home
as he glances inside dotCom to see Philip watching them as they
leave.
Kate
Kate waits outside the mansion for Moroni, remembering seeing
Nicole strut out of her bedroom. She thinks she doesn't have to
worry about Nicole now that she and Vic tumbled in the sheets,
only has Sami to worry about now. She sits in Moroni's car and
tries to tell him Brandon is in love with Sami. They are driven
around town as they talk. He warns her not to use him to further
her own interests and tells her she's wrong about Brandon. Kate
tears up (oh paleez) and Moroni softens up (sucker!) and
encourages her to tell him what's wrong. She tells him that she
fears Victor has found someone else and Moroni readily agrees,
much to her surprise, LOL! In his Godfather voice, Moroni tells
her Victor has a reputation for liking the younger ladies (hello,
old Vic's been out of action for a long time Moroni). He tells
her about how his wife was his life and Kate's envious of that
devotion. Moroni suggests she might have chosen the wrong man.
Titan
Nicole arrives to the executive offices to find a guard and
"Denise" talking. Denise offers to stay to help Nicole,
but Nicole tells her she had a marketing report to finish and
didn't need her. After Denise leaves, Nicole sneaks the key to
Kate's office out of Denise's desk (doesn't Denise lock her desk
that's sitting in the hallway? Besides, assuming she's an
executive secretary given the duties she has, she would have her
own office, but I digress). Inside Kate's office, Nicole searches
for the codicil and dreams about being at the office and now
married to Victor. We see Kate is her maid and does all her dirty
deeds, including having to kiss Nicole's feet, grateful to have a
job and without complaint (ha, that'll be the day!) She hears a
guard outside and crawls under Kate's desk as the guard unlocks
the door and finds a light on. The other guard finds him in there
and smelling perfume, asks if he spent time with a hooker on his
break. The other guard recognizes it as Nicole's perfume and
exclaims he would die a happy man to have an hour with that babe.
He figures Nicole had been in there earlier (duh, smart guards,
next step, Salem PD!) and doesn't investigate further while
turning off the light and leaves. Nicole finds the codicil and
makes a copy of it, then puts it back in a different place than
she found it to get Kate nervous. She tucks the copy in her back
waist band (now why would she do that if not expecting to be
caught) and the guard finds her locking Kate's door. He starts to
question her when Nicole accuses him of lude thoughts and
threatens to have her husband fire him. He turns to jelly and
tells her he has 3 kids and a wife to support. She struts to the
elevator while the other guard wheels in the paper on a dolly (can't
be the morning edition and it's too late for the night paper,
hmmm) Front page reads TOP COP SHOOTS ANOTHER UNARMED KID with a
picture of Abe.
Sami & Brandon
Brandon threw on some clothes to continue his talk with Sami. She
lets him know she's upset he's having to go so far with Angela.
She convinces him to at least talk to Nicole about what she knows
concerning Lucas and can't even stand smelling Angela's perfume
in his apartment. He takes her out for a drink and wishes it were
the other way around, making love with Sami and taking Angela out
for a drink. They go to the Blue Note and dance (well, stand on
the dance floor) and kiss. Back at their table, Brandon confesses
liking Angela and hates tricking her like this. He tells her
he'll make the sacrifice and states doing something without
expecting anything in return is what love's all about. Sami takes
his hand and tells him that she loves him too for being such a
good person and understanding. He tells her that he hopes that
someday she'll love him the way he loves her. Moroni and Kate
arrive at the The Blue Note (so few places to go for a big town),
They see Brandon and Sami and he asks if she knew they'd be there.
She's pleasantly surprised, but tells him truthfully no and
prevents him from going "mono to mono" with Brandon and
to talk with Angela first as she's the only one he can trust. He
tells a smiling Kate that if he what he finds out is true,
Brandon and Samantha will be very sorry as the credits roll.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2000**
Okay show, but Bo & Hope fans will not want to miss
their fantasy sequence. AND Missy Reeves fans will want to see
her all fixed up!!! Welcome home, Missy!!!
Episode #8942
Directed by Randy Robbins
Tape Date: 10/30/00
A Change Of Heart For Jennifer
On the cruise ship, Doug and Julie are having dinner with the
captain. Bo and Jennifer enter the room. (He in a tux and she in
a mint green strapless sequined gown, WOW! Do they clean up nice
or what? Welcome back Missy!!!) The captain mentions something
about the ship's boutique. (Well, I was wondering where those
clothes came from). They make small talk and the captain pays
Jenn with a compliment and she looks as if she is very
uncomfortable. Julie picks up on this and excuses herself to the
powder room (inviting Jenn along with). Julie tells her she looks
like her heart is about to break and wants her to talk about it.
Jenn hesitates and Julie guesses that the problem is Jack (Wow,
Julie, how'd ya figure that out, cause he's NO WHERE IN SIGHT???)
Julie gives her a shoulder to lean on and tells her that she
knows how she feels, cause when she first started dating Doug,
everyone told her not to. But the wonderful Hortons were
supportive and do not judge. Julie convinces her to go home to
Salem and accept that same love and support for herself. Julie
asks to see that wonderful Horton spirit and go back and enjoy
herself. Jenn finally gives in and rejoin the group. In the
meantime, Doug had told Bo that he was very disappointed in him
for leaving Hope at home with the baby. Bo agrees with him and
says that he is right and that he will never leave her again. Bo
tells him about the baby almost dying (Doug and Julie didn't know
that). He starts explaining why he left (telling him about when
the baby was conceived, Hope thought she was Gina). I think he
was going to tell him EVERYTHING, but they are interrupted when
Julie and Jenn return. The captain returns and Julie urges him to
ask Jenn to dance. She obliges and winks at Julie from the dance
floor. Bo prompts D&J to dance as well. As everyone dances,
Bo starts at the spinning ball and has a fantasy of he and Hope
there (alone) dancing on the cruise ship dance floor. This segues
to the montage of them sailing. This is all set to the perfect
song "There You Are" (I THINK by Martina McBride,
PLEASE someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I know my
women of country music pretty well). Beautiful scenes, Bo and
Hope lovers should NOT miss this. We return to reality to Hope (Hmmm,
she must've been having the same fantasy?)
She and Alice were at Salem Place doing a little Christmas
shopping. They sit to rest and Alice looks at the paper, reading
the story about Abe and Brady. She is upset and will pray for
both of them. Hope wonders how John is taking all this,
especially after the ordeal with John Thomas (LOL, some of our
readers have pointed out that the term "John Thomas" is
slang for the male sex organ and even we have noticed that they
haven't been using it as much lately, usually referring to him as
JT or John). When Alice questions Hope, she changes the subject
and tells her that Bo is coming home, with a BIG SURPRISE. Alice
makes her feelings known that she is a little miffed about Bo's
leaving and that bringing home a bunch of gifts is NOT going to
make up for it. Later, the see Hattie milling around and at first
think it's Marlena. Alice comments on how much she resembles her.
Hattie's New Look
As I said above, Hattie is milling around Salem Place admiring
herself in the store windows. She notices guys looking at her,
but when she smiles, they seem to lose interest and can't figure
out why. When she sees herself in a window and smiles, she
realizes that since her nose is smaller, her teeth look HUGE. She
sees Roman and Marlena (more below) and comments that "monster
Marlena with HER Roman". She says that even if she gets her
teeth fixed, it's Marlena that Roman loves. After Marlena rushes
off (again, see below) Roman and Hattie run into each other (literally).
He immediately notices her nose, but gets a call and has to rush
off. Now she is sure that if she gets her teeth fixed, he will
like her as well.
The Black Family
Marlena is at home with Belle and wouldn't let her go to school,
saying that she needs her rest. Belle keeps wanting to talk about
Brady, but Marlena doesn't want to. Roman calls Marlena and she
asks if they caught Brady yet. He asks her to meet him at Salem
Place to talk (Geez, does Marlena never look at the paper or turn
on the news in the morning?) . After she is gone, Belle decides
if she can't go to school, she is going to Salem Place to look at
the decorations. On her way out, she picks up the paper and reads
the lead story. She rushes off to the hospital to see Brady.
Marlena meets Roman at Salem Place and he finds out that Belle
has remembered the accident, but Marlena makes it clear that she
believes that Belle is protecting Brady. Roman tends to believe
that Belle is telling the truth and Marlena is shocked to find
out what happened with Brady getting shot. She rushes off to the
hospital, with Roman trying to stop her.
At the hospital, John is in a room with Brady as he has
flashbacks of the shooting. Craig comes by and tells him that the
surgery was a success, but he may have paralysis in his legs. He
isn't sure if it will be temporary or permanent. John returns as
Brady wakes up and John explains what
happened. He can't feel his legs and panics. Brady grabs an ink
pen and starts jabbing it into his legs (OUCH!) as John tries to
stop him. Belle arrives and watches from the door. John calls for
a nurse, but Craig comes in and dislodges the pen and stops the
bleeding. He warns Brady if he doesn't calm down, he will have to
sedate him. Belle comes in and Brady brightens up. They try and
get her to go home, but she assures them that she is fine. She
brought Brady her ìBuddy Bearî to help him (it's the one he
left for her when she was in her coma). She crawls in the bed
beside him and cries. It's more than John can take and he leaves.
In the hallway, Marlena arrives, telling him that she heard what
happened. John holds his hand up to her telling her that he can't
talk to her and walks off. Marlena looks in and sees Brady and
Belle and cries by herself as the credits roll.
