Peter tells Kristen about a device that allowed Stefano to put John into a trance. He is not sure if it would still work but if it did, Kristen could use it to get John to sleep with her. Kristen decides to take that risk & asks Peter to get it for her. Peter makes contact with an employee of Stefano's & sends him to get the trance inducer. Once he has it, he puts it behind the bathroom mirror in John & Kristen's hotel room. When Kristen & John return, Peter calls Kristen & suggests she try the device. As John looks into the mirror, he sees stars.

Jen & Jack dine at the cafe where Jack continues to suggest that Peter was involved in shady business. He claims that Daniel Scott could verify this, unaware that Daniel is just inside. Celeste sees Jen & Jack & asks if they are back together. She claims she sees an aura of love surrounding them.

Jack asks Celeste for her help in proving Peter is crooked. She refuses but claims that all who are involved with Stefano remain tainted. Jen hears this remark & is angry at Jack. Celeste enters the cafe & Daniel asks if he may join her. Celeste tells Daniel she has a feeling he will play an important part in her life.

Laura continues to help provide support to Marlena as they wait for news about Will. Laura suggests she go home to rest & will let her know if there any news. Marlena agrees. She goes home & dreams that John tells Kristen he doesn't love her (Marlena).

Austin & Carrie are about to see Will when the baby-sitter walks in & screams. She & the hotel manager order them to leave Mary's room. Austin leaves a toy lamb behind. When Mary returns she is angry that the babysitter left Will alone. When Will will not stop crying, Mary gives her the lamb &

is surprised that the man across the hall would know what would calm the baby. Carrie tells Austin he must be missing Will very badly if he keeps thinking the baby sounds like Will.

Tue 09-03-96
(Thur 06-08-00)

Jack talks to Jen about the story he is writing on Stefano & asks her to help him. She refuses, explaining that she is on her honeymoon. Jack goads her by saying she has lost her passion for the news. Jack talks about exploring the tunnels of the underground. Abe & Lexie tell Jack that is too dangerous to go down there. Despite this Jack explores the tunnels & runs into Jen who wants to show she has not lost her passion.

After Jack's interview, Lexie begins to wonder if Stefano may be alive & that he might come after her or hurt Abe. Abe assures her that he is dead.

Peter orders Stefano's servant to blow up the tunnels so no-one will ever find any link between Stefano & Peter. The explosives are set & detonated. This causes a cave-in that traps Jack & Jen.

Marlena continues to worry that Kristen & John will make love. She reassures herself by remembering that Kristen is too weak. She considers calling John to ask him to come home to help search for Will. She decides against it, knowing that John needs to be with Kristen. She meets with Bo & Hope. Hope can tell that she longs for John & Marlena realises she has to hide her feelings for John.

Bo gets a call from a source who may have information about Will. The source wants reward but Bo threatens to throw him in ail. The source explains that the info comes from a friend. Bo tells his source to get the info right away.

The device that Peter planted works & John goes into a highly suggestive state. Kristen is able to make love with him but John believes he is with Marlena & calls her "Doc" over & over. Kristen is upset but continues to make love. When Kristen wakes, John is gone. She calls Peter who suggests he has gone for a walk. Presently John returns & goes to bed.

Wed 09-04-96
(Fri 06-09-00)

Jack & Jen are uninjured by the cave-in but find themselves trapped. Jack questions whether Jen came to the tunnel to get the story or whether she was concerned about him. Another blast makes them realise they need to get out as soon as possible. The man Peter ordered to blow up the tunnels places an explosive near where Jack & Jen are trapped & is about to detonate it.

Peter wakes up in the morning & realises Jen never came home. He rings Celeste, thinking she may be able to help. He tells her he is coming over. Celeste wakes Daniel, with whom she spent the night. Daniel wants to meet Celeste's friend, not realising it is Peter, & takes a shower. Celeste & Peter work out that Jen may have followed Jack to the tunnels & Peter rushes out moments before Daniel enters the room.

Austin gets a phone call telling him that the marriage licence is ready. He & Carrie return to Paris after unsuccessfully trying to apologise to their neighbour with the baby. While Carrie gets ready, Austin goes to the hotel. He returns to tell Carrie that Will has been kidnapped. Mary makes arrangements to sell Will later that day.

Bo & Hope continue to work on Will's case. Bo's source, Larry admits that that eh does have information. Marlena continues to try to console Sami. Sami tells her mother that she needs Austin & that she will never love anyone as she loves Austin. When Sami learns of Bo's lead, she is certain she will get Will back. Bo & Hope explain that their source saw Mary get into a cab the night Will disappeared. They traced the cab to the airport, which means that Mary could be anywhere. Sami is once again devastated.

Thur 09-05-96

Austin rings the Brady's to find out more about Will's kidnapping. Marlena tells him it was Mary who kidnapped Will. Bo tells Austin that it is likely that Mary took Will out of the country & there is no point in returning to Salem just yet. Austin tells Carrie he believes Mary was the woman at the inn. They return but Mary has checked out. Carrie tells Austin they cannot know for certain that it was Mary & Will. Carrie remembers Celeste's vision & wonders if she & Austin will marry.

Marlena looks through Bo & Hope's files & sees the sketch of Mary & of Will's rattle. She realises Mary was the woman she saw at Paris airport. At first Sami is angry at Marlena but realises there was no way Marlena could know it was Will. Sami & Marlena head to Paris. Sami tells Marlena she thinks it is fate that is taking her, Austin & Will all to Paris. Marlena tries to remind Sami that Austin is committed to Carrie.

Hope looks through some prints of the photo shoot from Santa Rosa. Bo questions whether she has any regrets about not accepting the job. Hope assures him that she doesn't. Franco also looks at the prints. He tells his boss that everything will work out & he will return to Salem.

Jack & Jen dig their way into another tunnel where Jen discovers the crown & Jack finds some of Stefano's records. Just as he finds some with Peter's name on them, there is another explosion which injures Jen. Jack drops the book & helps her. Peter manages to find Jack & Jen & helps dig them out. Just as they leave there is a partial cave-in burying the records. Outside the tunnels, Jack accuses Peter but since he has no proof, Jen does not believe him. Jack also wonders how Peter had such an intimate knowledge of the tunnels but peter explains that it was chance that he found them. Again Jen believes Peter's word.

On the plane to Paris, Sami & Marlena discuss whether Sami should be going after Austin. Sami turns the tables by questioning Marlena's feelings for John. Marlena tries to explain the complicated situation involving Roman & John but Sami is still adamant that she & Austin belong together.

Abe & Lexie report to Austin that there is no further news about Will although the French police are looking for Mary. Mary meets with her buyer in a park & makes the deal. Austin & Carrie are visited by Billie who is shocked to learn of Will's kidnapping. Carrie confides in Billie that she fears she may never marry Austin & tells of Celeste's vision. Billie assures Carrie that nothing & no-one will stop the wedding. Carrie tells Billie she fears Sami will come between them. They return to the hotel room to find Austin hugging Sami.

John is torn over his lingering feelings for Marlena when he should be thinking only of Kristen. In the bathroom, he almost removes the mirror but Kristen stops him before he sees the device. John & Kristen then meet with Abe & Lexie. Marlena arrives at the hotel & since her room is not ready she has the maid let her in to John's room. She finds the control for the device. She puzzles over it, & inadvertently turns it on.
