On Monday, hold on to your hats: John tries on those strange goggles
and finds he is able to see where Stefano is holding Marlena captive. [He
tries to reach out to her and yells to her, but she can't hear him. Kristen,
concerned about John's obsession with finding Marlena, goes to find him in
Stefano's storage area. She finds him calling out to Marlena, and then his
vision begins to fade, and a bolt of energy is produced from the metal case
where the goggles were stored. It hits John, and knocks him on to the ground.
(Not sure if Kristen saw this, but she was standing right there.) John
immediately tells Kristen what he saw. Naturally she tries to convince John
that it was just his imagination. [She puts on the goggles and sees nothing.]
Kristen hopes John will believe what she's saying, and stop pining over
Marlena. Meanwhile, Stefano takes great pleasure in telling Marlena that
there is no way she will ever see her children again. [However, he strikes
a deal with her. If she eats the food he gives her, and wears the clothes
he left for her, and stops trying to escape, he can arrange it so that she
can "see" her children. He explains the virtual-reality goggles, and Marlena
is skeptical. He mentions that he has another pair of VR glasses, but they
are in a place where nobody will find them. Marlena agrees to his "deal",
until Stefano adds his ultimate desire - for her to have his child.] Peter
is afraid that during Rachel's drug-therapy session, she told Laura about
his less than savory activities. [He confronts Laura, who insists it's
just work-related stress that is making her distant.] When Rachel has a
nightmare about what she may have done to Peter, she finds out that Laura
does indeed know the truth about him. She only hopes that Laura will not
tattle to Jennifer. [Peter discovers that Laura knows about his evildoings.
She tells him that she is very disappointed in him, and despite Peter's
insistance that he lied to Jennifer because he loved her, and is "clean"
now, Laura doesn't feel that she can believe anything he says now.]
Meanwhile, Jack and Jennifer share a happy afternoon together, reliving
memories from their past. [Jenn accidentally spills paint on Jack, so
he has to take off his shirt. She helps get him cleaned up. She complements
him on his relationship with Abby since he returned to Salem. When Jenn
learns that Peter went to see Rachel because she had a nightmare, Jack
goes along. He wonders if Rachel is disturbed because she's hiding Peter's
secrets.]

On Tuesday, after John calls in the ISA to examine those goggles [per
Bo's suggestion], he returns home to spend a romantic evening with Kristen
[per Bo's hint that he's been neglecting her.] But John is just not into it,
because he can't stop thinking about seeing Marlena naked with Stefano. [He
knows he must find her fast, but he keeps his thoughts to himself so as not
to upset Kristen (who is frustrated that Marlena has come between her and
John even when "dead").] Austin and Carrie insist that Sami appear before a
judge to prove that she is an adequate parent. But Sami has already come up
with a plan to prevent anyone from taking her son from her. [She feels she
has no choice but to take Will away from Salem. She gathers up a few of their
things and bids Salem farewell.] Vivian tries to get Lucas to help in her war
against Kate [Vivian doesn't want 50% of Titan -- she wants it all.] Lucas is
very angry with Kate [*real* nice of her to fawn over Carrie and Austin in
front of Lucas when they come to Titan for a meeting], but it's still unclear
as to whether or not he will turn against his own mother. When Jennifer
declares her devotion to Peter [and how happy he has made her, how secure
and confident she feels, and how trustworthy he is], Laura decides not to say
anything about Peter's connection to Jude. But later Laura warns Peter that
she hasn't made up her mind about telling Jennifer. [She assures him that if
she sees any indication that he is reverting to his old ways, she will do
whatever she must to protect her daughter. Jack is disappointed to learn
that his theory about Rachel spilling Peter's secrets to Laura was wrong.]
Bo and Hope are planning their wedding, when they realize they need to earn
more money to pay for their dreams for the future. [Hope would like something
bigger than the small simple ceremony they had discussed, and also would
like to think about getting a house so Shawn-Douglas can have a backyard
(though it's not like the kid spends much time at home.) But realistically,
since they're only bringing in one paycheck since she was suspended, they'll
have to put their dreams on hold for now.]

On Wednesday, Hope has sadly accepted the fact that she and Bo can't
afford a lavish wedding. When Caroline stops by the boat to offer her help
in planning the wedding, she sees that Hope is upset and learns of her and
Bo's financial troubles. However, Hope refuses to let Shawn and Caroline
help them. Shawn has a chat with Bo and advises him to "put himself in
Hope's shoes" and see if he can understand how she feels. (Oh, you mean
selfish? - in my opinion.) Carrie and Austin stop by to see Hope and
invite her and Bo to join them for dinner at the Penthouse Grille. Hope
graciously takes a raincheck since she knows she and Bo can't afford it,
and is confused when Carrie and Austin say they can put it on Titan's
expense account. They explain that they would like to offer her a job
as a model for Bella magazine. Carrie shows Hope a contract she had drawn
up, and Hope's eyes light up at the salary offered her. She says she has
to talk it over with Bo first, but she doesn't see why he would object.
Bo returns home and tells Hope that he has made a decision. He is going
to sell the boat; then she can have her dream wedding and they can buy a
house (goodness, how much is that boat worth?). Hope is touched, but
explains that he doesn't have to do that -- their money problems are solved.
She shows Bo the modeling contract, and the two celebrate the return of
their financial freedom. Meanwhile, some creepy guy snaps photos of Hope.
Carrie and Austin go to Brady's Pub, and are concerned when no one can find
Sami or Will. Austin's fears are realized when Jamie finds a note from
Sami, which tells Austin that by the time he reads this, she'll be far away.
Sami hitches a ride out of town and catches the eye of some old letch at a
coffee shop. He offers her a ride, and Sami desperately and naively accepts.
When the truckdriver pulls over to "check his load", Sami frets that she'll
never make it across the state line by nightfall. He encourages Sami to get
out and "stretch her legs", and then he approaches her. It's clear that he
wants something, and Sami panics when she realizes what it is.

On Thursday, John pesters the ISA for info about the funky goggles,
but they're really busy. He asks Abe to put some pressure on them, and they
promise to get to it ASAP. In the meantime, Kristen makes plans to cheer
John up, and surprisingly, it doesn't involve sex. She takes him to Marlena's
penthouse to see Belle. John and Kristen run right into Stefano's shadow
man, who is there planting a special computer chip that will allow Marlena
to see Belle. He says he's an exterminator checking the place for vermin.
John suspiciously gives him the third degree, and he leaves. Marlena is so
despondent in Stefano's prison that on the advice of a physician, Stefano
arranges to give Marlena a reason to hope. While they wait for the virtual
reality device to "warm up", Stefano explains that she will be able to see
Belle, but she must also accept that she is no longer part of that life.
John has moved on with Kristen. Marlena refuses to believe that John will
ever give up on her. After putting on the goggles, Marlena is able to see
her daughter. She also sees John, and then Kristen, who gushes about how
they'll be a family forever and she'll raise Belle as her own. Marlena
angrily cries out "No!" Austin and Carrie start to search for Sami and
Will after learning that at the moment, Sami has every legal right to take
Will wherever she wants. Sami wrestles with the lecherous truck driver,
and finally overcomes him by kicking him repeatedly in the crotch. She
grabs Will and runs off, and realizes she doesn't know where she is. She
finds a barn and spends the night there. Meanwhile, Austin talks to the
waitress at the coffee shop who saw Sami. She knows Sami hitched a ride
with a trucker, and they always head North. Carrie and Austin head out
again to try to find Sami. She's asleep in the barn when the wind rushes
through an open window and knocks over an oil lamp, setting the hay aflame.

On Friday, Marlena knows that Kristen has used her absence to bond
with John. [Using the VR goggles, Marlena sees Kristen with John and Belle.
When Kristen leaves with the nanny to put Belle to bed,] Marlena intends to
let John know that she is there watching them. [John picks up a picture of
him and Marlena and Belle, and berates himself for not telling Marlena how
he felt.] Suddenly John feels her emotional presence in the room, and
suddenly he's not paying attention to Kristen anymore. [John rushes off to
check on the progress with the strange goggles.] Kristen tries to enlist Bo's
help to try to get John to stop searching for Marlena. Kristen insists she is
dead. [John fiddles with the goggles and manages to get them to work. He
sees Marlena, who tried to get Stefano to let her physically see her children
and John again before he takes her away forever, but Stefano is not so stupid.]
When Stefano realizes someone is using the goggles, he decides that he must
kill whoever uses them next. Sami and Will fall asleep, and Sami is oblivious
to the fact that the shed is burning. Austin and Carrie are close enough to
see the smoke and decide to investigate. [After calling the fire department,
they approach the house and hear screams. Once Austin recognizes it as Sami,
he rushes in to save her and Will. Sami is thrilled that Austin saved her,
and takes it to mean that he still wants them to be a family. But Austin is
actually furious with Sami for putting Will in danger like this, and takes
immediate action to gain custody of Will.] While Bo and Hope and Wendy and
Jonah share a light romantic evening [at the Cheatin' Heart? How romantic],
that mystery man catches Hope and Wendy's attention. [Bo is called away by
Kristen, and insists that Hope stay behind with Wendy and Jonah, since he
plans to be right back. Wendy and Jonah then have to leave to take care of
Benjamin, and Hope is left alone. She is immediately hit on by some creep,
and the good-looking mystery man saves the day by explaining that she's with
him. Hope thanks him, but assures him that she can take care of herself.
She goes outside for some air, and the man soon follows. The creep approaches
the man with a piece of wood, and Hope floors the creep. The man admits that
he is new in town, and Hope is surprised that he freely accepted assistance
from a woman.] As the evening wears on, Hope thinks she may have made a new
friend. But when she finds the mystery man knows her name, Hope wonders if
he could be suspicious.
