On Monday, Sami's in the hospital recovering from an infection she
caused herself by lifting Carrie into Lucas' bed. [She seems to be responding
to the antibiotics and her fever has broken. Austin blames himself for not
looking after her, and promises not to be selfish anymore. I believe he said
the same thing a few weeks ago when Will was sick. Carrie has a talk with
Jamie and tells her what happened between her and Lucas, and is confused
because she can't remember *how* it happened. She tells Lucas that they need
to talk about the situation, but he is called to work and they have to discuss
it later.] Jamie suspects Sami had something to do with Carrie and Austin's
breakup, even though Lucas swears she didn't [he's convinced Carrie has just
finally realized it's over with her and Austin.] Meanwhile, Carrie finally
asks Austin why he's been so cold to her. After a moment's hesitation, Austin
says "Why? Because I saw you in bed with Lucas." Vivian has heard about the
latest split with Carrie and Austin [from Lucas, who arranges to have five
dozen red roses sent to Carrie] and is convinced that Sami was behind it.
Vivian is impressed with the girl's chutzpah, and decides to come up with
something equally clever to get Victor. [She meets up with a younger, very
affectionate man for a date in front of Victor and Ivan. Victor is curious,
and Ivan is disappointed because he thought he and Vivian had become closer.]
Lexie and Abe continue to work on the mystery surrounding the identity of her
parents. [She checks the phone book for local doctors to see if she can find
out who delivered her.] Lexie talks once more to the parrot man, but as
always he will only speak in vague mysterious riddles [he says that the truth
will make her cry. Bo and Hope continue their long, passionate kiss. While
there's no doubt about the physical connection between them, Hope needs to
know about Bo's emotional feelings. While arguing, Hope accidentally throws
her back out. Bo carries her back to the pub, and there aren't any chiro-
practors or massage therapists in town.] Bo and Hope share the hot spring
[and things get hot ;) causing Hope to pull away.] Hope tells Bo that she
wants to be given flowers. You know, she coos, to be courted like the old
days. [She recalls her and Bo's time in New Orleans, where they made love
for the first time.] After a man-to-man talk with Abe [where Abe essentially
tells Bo to stop jerking Hope around like this], Bo shows up at Hope's room
with flowers. He is ready to begin wooing her. [He asks her out on a date,
and she accepts.]
Next time, Lucas has reason to be optimistic when it comes to Carrie,
and Bo turns on the charm with Hope.
Tuesday, January 9, 1996
On Tuesday, Carrie tells Austin that she has no idea how she ended up
in bed with Lucas. "But," she added with a sad sigh, "I'm not going to lay
the blame on anyone but myself." [Austin of course blames Lucas for taking
advantage of Carrie's vulnerability. Jamie, upset at seeing how hurt Austin
and Carrie are, tells Austin that she is certain that Carrie does not have
romantic feelings for Lucas. She reminds him that Carrie's situation with
Lucas is not unlike Sami's and his own -- neither remember how they got into
bed with the other person. Not willing to give up on Carrie while there's
still a chance, Austin heads for her apartment.] Meanwhile, Lucas makes plans
to win Carrie for himself by surprising her with a romantic dinner for two.
Although touched by Lucas' feelings for her, Carrie confesses that she doesn't
feel that same sort of spark. "All I'm asking is that you give me a chance,"
whispers Lucas. Much to his delight, Carrie agrees to think it over. [Since
she isn't involved with anyone anymore, she will go out with him as a friend
and see where it goes. Soon Austin arrives and peeks in on the scene that
Lucas has created. He overhears the caterer congratulate Lucas on his and
Carrie's new relationship. Hurt, Austin leaves.] Bo admits to Hope that he
was wrong not to accept her the minute she returned to Salem. He begs her to
give their love another chance, and asks if they can start their new
relationship with a fantasy date. [Hope says she'd be happy just for them
to spend time together. Hope sits down and chats with Kristen and Lexie
while Bo tries to come up with a plan.] When John and Abe hear about this,
they want to do the same thing for the women they love. [The three men take
their three women to the Blake house.] The men [John, mostly] come up with
a fantasy evening of elegance in another century. [Kristen, Hope, and Lexie
go up to the attic and pick out antique gowns to wear. The men put on white
tuxedoes.] Naturally, the women in their lives are awed by what they've done
for them. [Oh, please. How hard is it to put on a tuxedo? ;) The ladies,
on the other hand, have to do their hair and makeup and somehow come up with
the perfect accessories for these fabulous gowns. This is accomplished in
a matter of moments of course. The three couples dance the night away.
Kristen tries to forget that John's hearing is tomorrow. She suggests that
they drive away -- just her, John, and Brady. All they need is each other.
Kristen is clearly still uncomfortable with the thought of testifying for
John, and he continually tells her he can get through anything with her faith
in him. Bo asks Hope what she thinks of their first 'date', because he wants
many, many more dates to come.] Meanwhile, Stefano is desperate to find out
the identity of the woman who has been haunting his every waking hour. [He
questions John, but John thinks the woman was his imagination. Celeste will
not tell Stefano anything. She says it's for the best.] He doesn't realize
that he will soon be face-to-face with this mysterious creature. [The lady
in white approaches Stefano. "You are real!" he says. Actually, more like
"You are rrrreal" (rolling those R's as only Stefano can). He pulls himself
up out of his wheelchair and reaches out to remove her veil, so he can see
who she really is.]
Next time, it's fantasy time for three couples, and Stefano goes down for
the count.
Wednesday, January 10, 1996
On Wednesday, the fantasy date for Abe and Lexie, John and Kristen,
and Bo and Hope continues. Bo and Hope are thrilled to be together again
and dance the night away. John and Kristen would have a better time if
they could stop worrying about John's bail hearing tomorrow. [It begins
to storm out, and Kristen is inspired to run out into the rain (in a clingy
white gown -- not a good idea ;) Then she and John return to the room to
change out of their wet clothes, and though not under the ideal circumstances,
John asks to make love to Kristen that night, and the two attack each other
like hungry wet wolves.] Abe takes Lexie to the attic, where they find a
newspaper dated the day of Lexie's birth. Lexie is intrigued when she reads
that the woman who raised her was involved in a hit-and-run accident the very
day Lexie was born. As she reads further, Lexie finds out where the accident
took place [in front of the Aremid Orphanage. Later, Celeste approaches the
orphanage and knocks on the door. "It's me," she says.] Meanwhile, Stefano
finds himself face-to-face with the woman in white, but before he can approach
her, she turns tail and runs. Taking steps to catch up to her, Stefano falls
and hits his head. When he comes to, he talks about the mysterious lady he
saw, and everyone believes it was just a figment of his imagination. [He
stares at the portrait again, and Celeste tells him to forget about this woman.
If indeed she is coming after Stefano, it is for revenge. Back in her hideout,
the woman in white wonders what to do. Then she realizes that Stefano can't
hurt her more than he already has. She lifts up her veil, but her face is
still hidden from viewers. As Stefano continues to stare at the portrait,
it comes to life. She tells him to get out of Aremid tonight, or he will
live to regret it.] In Salem, Vivian enjoys a romantic evening with Gregor at
The Penthouse Grille. Even thought Victor is there with Layla, Vivian is
hoping to use Gregor to make the man jealous. [Victor comments to Layla how
nice it is too see married couples still so much in love (Shawn is there with
Caroline, dancing with her and having a wonderful time). Layla says she's
not into marriage -- she just wants to have a good time. Victor says that's
why he likes her. But then as Vivian and her escort walk by, he wonders if
it's time to start thinking about marriage again. In Aremid, Bo and Hope
continue to dance together. They finally realize that John and Kristen and
Abe and Lexie have already left. The clock strikes midnight, and Bo asks
for one last dance. He walks her back to her room, and they share a good-
night kiss.]
Next time, Lexie reaches another dead end, and Carrie's words give Lucas
reason to hope.

Austin dreams about
being back with Carrie, and vice versa. Carrie awakens to a knock at her door
and rushes to answer it, thinking it's Austin. It's Lucas, with fresh bagels.
Shawn stops by with baby Will. Carrie forgot she offered to babysit, but is
more than happy to take the baby. Lucas fantasizes that he and Carrie have
a child. She and Lucas take Will to the park. Meanwhile, Sami is being
released from the hospital. She insists to Jamie that she had nothing to
do with Carrie ending up in bed with Lucas, and is not happy to hear Jamie
say that Austin loves Carrie and still wants to be with her. Austin arrives
and Sami tells him that now that she's better, she and Will are going to get
an apartment for themselves. Austin insists that they remain with him. Sami
doesn't want to interfere with his life, but Austin reminds her that Will is
his son too, and he also admits that it's over between him and Carrie. They
meet up with Lucas and Carrie and Will in the park, and Sami announces that
she and her baby have a home now. Carrie is visibly hurt by Austin's decision
and leaves with Lucas. Lexie goes to the Aremid orphanage to look into its
adoption records. She finds nothing, but is shocked to find out that Celeste
has been the benefactor for the orphanage for many years. Lexie has a strange
flashback of being sung a lullaby by a woman with blonde hair (Celeste?)
Again Lexie begs Celeste for information about her parents, but she tells her
that her happiness lies in the future, not in the past. Angry, Lexie starts
to leave. The manager of the orphanage stops her to tell her that she may
have some info for her after all. A man worked at the orphanage around the
time Lexie was born. His name is Logan Michaels, otherwise known as the
parrot man.
Friday, January 12, 1996
On Friday, today is the day of John's bail hearing. [Kristen and
John get it on one more time before going to court.] Peter tries to convince
the judge that John should be behind bars. Mickey does his best to sway the
judge, but in the end, his Honor rules in favor of the prosecution. John is
returned to his holding cell, and Kristen tries her best to deal with the
ruling. Bo and Hope are upset by the setback, but vow to clear John's name.
[Shawn-Douglas notes that both of them have been staring off into space and
smiling since last night. Bo tells him he and Hope had a really good time
on their date. Bo presents Hope with a special candy, which he recalls she
craved whilst pregnant with Shawn-Douglas. She remembers how hard it was to
find these candies, and how they talked about stocking up for when she gets
pregnant again.] Meanwhile, Lexie tries to talk to the parrot man again.
She knows that he worked at the orphanage about the time she would have been
born there. Again, he refuses to talk. Jennifer finds out from Hope that
Jack let Jude go to save Jenn's life. [Jack goes out to search for Jude,
hoping to help John's case. He ends up at the warehouse where he held Jenn,
but Jude isn't there.] Jennifer catches up to Jack to thank him. He spots
the matchbook and asks Jennifer if he can keep it as a possible clue. [They
see the numbers written in it, but don't know what it means.] Jennifer hands
it over, never realizing that Jack might find a clue that will reveal Peter's
dastardly deeds. [Peter, meanwhile, calls up one of his men and mentions that
he hasn't been able to get in touch with Jude. He should be long gone and
shouldn't be bothering him again, since he gave him more than enough money.
Peter tells Jennifer that he knows she's upset that he's prosecuting John,
but if the justice system works correctly, the person who murdered Tony will
be punished.] Stefano is becoming more and more desperate to remember his
past. [He keeps looking at the painting, trying to remember who the woman
is.] Because he's so obsessed with this, he ignores the approaching storm,
and ends up getting struck by lightning [it hits his wheelchair. See Stefano
stiffen and watch his eyes bug out.]
