Marlena tells John that he is Belle's father. John is happy and tells Marlena he always felt a bond with her. Roman refuses to help John in gathering evidence against Stefano. Roman announces he will move out but Marlena says she and Belle will leave. Billie and Jen are helping Kristen get dressed for her wedding. Kristen wants to talk to Tony but Stefano will not allow it. Kristen tells Stefano that she wants to confess her affair with John to Tony. Stefano tells Kristen not to do this. He tells Kristen that John is Belle's father. Kristen is disbelieving and wants to postpone the wedding to see John. Stefano tells Kristen if she does not marry Tony he will disown her. Just as Kristen is about to walk down the aisle, John rushes in the church. Bo does not find the shoes. The maid, Mary has the shoes. Vic tells Kate that Viv and laura died in the fire. Kate is glad the Viv is dead. Vic announces he is trying to obtain a posthumous pardon for Viv. Laura wants to tell Jen that she is alive ut Viv discourages her.

Marlena goes to the Horton's where Alice, Mickey and Maggie are celebrating Mickey and Maggie's anniversary. Marlena announces that John is Belle's father and that she has moved out. Alice invites her to stay at the Horton Centre and they encourage her not to give up hope. Sami comforts Roman, announcing she will look after him. Carrie refuses to tell the police about her attack. Austin tells Carrie that he believes Lucas was the attacker. Carrie does not believe this. Later it is revealed that Alan was the attcker. John stops the wedding and tells Kristen that Fred Harris is about to reveal that Stefano shot curtis. John admits that he is Belle's father. Stefano, Peter and Tony tell John to leave the church. Kristen is confused about what to do. Stefano says he is leaving and gets into his car and starts to drive away. John, thinking stefano is trying to flee from justice, shoots at the tyres. Peter tackles John as he fires the gun. The car explodes. \

Bo and John examine the wreckage from the explosion. Stefano's body is nowhere to be found. Peter, Tony and Kristen are devastated when bo announces that Stefano was not found alive. Peter tells Kristen that Stefano's greatest wish was to see her marry Tony and that she should continue with the wedding. Billie suggests that Kristen take some time to think before marrying Tony. She and Bo leave. Kristen and Tony decide to go ahead with the wedding and ask Jen and Peter to be witnesses. Roman gets a watch delivered that Marlena ordered before the affair was known. Roman goes to see Marlena and they argue. Carrie and Austin return to Salem and overhear Sami telling Caroline about Belle's paternity. Carrie goes to see Marlena and yells at Marlena. She also confides in Sami about the attack. At the crash site, John finds a bullet hole in the tire ( implying that he did shoot the tire and did not cause the explosion ) John is about to take the tire to Kristen but is stopped by Roman.

Tony and Kristen marry. The wedding party returns to the DiMera mansion where Kristen thinks she can smell Stefano's cologne. Peter and Jennifer kiss. Tony takes Kristen on a honeymoon to Smith Island. After Jennifer leaves the mansion, Stefano comes out of hiding and talks to Peter who is not at all surprised to see his father alive. John tells Marlena all about the evening's activities of the wedding and the explosion. He tells her that he does not believe Stefano to be dead. Sami tells Roman and caroline about Carrie's attack. All the Bradys go to Carrie's apartment to offer support. Caroline invites Marlena but is told to leave by Roman. Alice asks Jennifer if she is falling for Peter.

Austin and Carrie have breakfast at the pub where the Brady's are still offering support. Marlena arrives and is again told to leave by Roman. John learns of the attack through Abe and goes to the pub. He and Roman fight and Carrie leaves. Tony and Kristen are still honeymooning after consumating their marriage. Kristen confesses her affair but turns around to see Tony had already left and did not hear. They decide to return to salem where they catch Peter and Stefano by surprise. Stefano was able to hide in time. Lucas tells Alan of Carrie's attack. Alan rings Carrie but she does not to see him. Marlena and john talk about how they will raise Belle and John sees his daughter for the first time since knowing the truth. Billie's trial starts and bo tells the judge that he believes Kate Kiriakis is also a suspect. Kate is shocked and Billie confronts Kate asking why she is so scared.
