Monday 31st May 1993

This episode *really* confused me. First of all - why was Kristen wearing a collar? And second of all, why at Jenn and Jacks was it seemingly late evening, while at the hospital, Marlena was heading off for an appointment with her obstetrician. Don't tell me that Salem even has it's own different time zones! But then I guess if it can be the same time in Paris as n Salem - why should I be surprised?
Carly has an ethical dilemma over one of her patients. Surprisingly enough (not) Lawrence agrees with her standpoint, but Bo agrees with the hospital. Vivian manages to get a set of keys to the drugs cupboard and fills a syringe with cleaning fluid. She dresses up in a nurses uniform and waits till Carly falls asleep in the staff lounge.
Jack tries to relax Jenn and gives her a pedicure. After they scrump, he gets a phonecall from Kate and says he will be in there tomorrow morning. He tells Jenn he has accepted Kate's offer and Jenn works out that it's because of the health insurance.
John tries to give Kristen twenty-five grand towards the community centre, but she turns him down. John talks to Mickey about it and they arrange to filter it through the hospital. John runs into Marlena who warns him about Kristen's perceived problems with him. She tells John that since he's me Kristen he has been in all sorts of trouble and he should be careful round her (boy, Mar was one smart lady back here!). Marlena gets called down for her amniocentesis test and Bo tells John about it. Bo is going off to relieve Roman on stakeout so that he can be there. Marlena heads into the examination room and the nurse wants to ask her a few questions. She asks her how long she thinks she has been pregnant and Marlena answers sixteen weeks. What she doesn't see is John come into the room after that....
Meanwhile Kristen has gone to see the man in a wheelchair with chubby hands and the phoenix ring, wanting to know why it is that she should hate John Black so much. (Like I care......)
Tuesday 1st June 1993

Vivian stands over Carly in the lounge with the syringe ready to plunge into her neck, but she is disturbed by voices. Lawrence comes in, and then Mickey, to say that the board agree that they must keep Carly's patient alive, even though that's not what he wants. Since he didn't have time to sign a living will before he lapsed into a coma, his family could sue the hospital if they didn't. Viv overhears this conversation and thinks that it's a very interesting development. She heads down to Mr. Woodrow's room and injects the cleaning fluid into the IV.
Abe and Lexie invite Wendy to come stay with them until she finds a proper place of their own, but when they pull up outside their house, a gun wielding guy wants their car and yells at them to get out. Wendy is terrified but Bo and Roman, who had been on the stakeout, come and bust the guy for drugs. They all head down to the station, then Wendy goes back to Austin and Jonah's.
John says that the baby is due early October - right? The nurse heads off and Marlena asks John how long he had been standing there. He tells her just long enough to hear the nurse ask the baby's due date. He tells her that he wants to be there for the amnio if Roman can't make it and then tells her that he thinks he should accept the offer of godfather. Turning it down would hurt Roman and might arouse his suspicions. Marlena agrees but they are interrupted by Kimberly. She is more than a little surprised to see John there and Marlena asks John to get her a cup of tea. Kim tells Marlena that seeing John there seems odd to her. This should be something private between her and Roman. She knows something is very wrong, Marlena looks very tired and she suspects her blood pressure is up. She tells Marlena if something is troubling her, it's not good for the baby. Marlena says she does have a secret, but she'd not sure if she can tell him, but then she can't help herself and it all comes tumbling out. She tells him that she and John haven't been fighting their feelings, at least not all the time - they gave into them - twice. She ends up by telling Kim what's eating her inside is that she doesn't know who's baby this is and John mustn't find out that it could be his. She just has to hope that everything works out. She tells Kim that she feels terribly guilty and she thinks that Kim must hate her now. Kim tells her no - she has made enough of her own mistakes and she can't judge Marlena. Marlena tells her she loves Roman and will do anything to keep this marriage together. Kim says she knows Marlena will, but she is concerned that the lies will end up hurting Roman, however well intentioned they are. John comes back with the tea and Kim heads off. John stays for the amnio and when Roman eventually arrives, it's all over. Marlena has a picture of the ultrasound for him - but they can't tell the sex of the baby yet...not that she wants to know.
Wednesday 2nd June 1993
(Monday 12th January 1998 in NZ)
Viv gets back to her room just as Lawrence and Nikki come to visit her. Lawrence calls Tom when he thinks something is wrong and Tom puts her on oxygen. Mr. Woodrow dies (although no-one yet knows why) and Nikki is scared his Aunt Viv is next. Lawrence suggests he ask Carly to stay the night and she does, much to Bo's chagrin. Bo heads down to the Heart and runs into Billie who dances with him till it gets a little close and she runs out.
Billie manipulates the situation so Austin and Carrie are left together baby-sitting Benjamin. All is going well until the pizza delivery guy stops by and makes a comment about how beautiful Carrie is but then stares when he notices her scar.
Lucas takes Sami to the Heart and promises to help her get Austin. He is fancying Carrie and is surprised to find out that she's still a virgin. But he picks up a bimbo at the pub and leaves Sami there alone...
Thursday 3rd June 1993

Billie gives Carrie an job doing her accounts for Countess Wilhelmina and Jenn offers to lend them her laptop for a while. Kim comes by and is told another Brady secret. Carrie tells her about her and Roman's deal - but Kim thinks that she is using that for an excuse.
Vic has a little man to man talk with Lucas. Later he tells Kate he would like to get to know her better but she tells him about buying the Spectator. Vic thinks she is going to hand it over to him.
Sami decides to go on a diet and Lucas rubs it in more when he tells her she'll have to have a great bod to get Austin to notice her.
Roman tries to fix the air-conditioning and Alice gives him some advice he doesn't want to hear - namely to change his mind about Austin - Austin and Carrie belong together. She advises him to go and talk to Austin after his show today...
Friday 4th June 1993

Roman talks to Kim and Jennifer who both try and convince him that Austin is a changed man, but a drunk guy comes along (he's an ex-boxer) and blames Austin for ruining his career. He says that Austin wouldn't throw the fight and accuses Austin of killing Gus Bartoli. Roman walks away but Austin follows him and tells him that he thinks Roman has something to do with the wall Carrie is putting up.
Carrie goes to see Dr. Phelps (now *why* does he look *so* familiar? If someone can fill me in on this - please do - it's gonna drive me crazy otherwise). He tells her that he may be able to heal her skin with grafts but since the area is large, he will probably have to take some skin from her body. Carrie is distressed at the thought of further scars without any guarantee of her face being healed and decides that she doesn't want to go through the surgery.
Nikki and Lawrence peruse an old photo album - one with pictures of Lawrence and Carly when they were in love. Lawrence shows his son a picture of him and Carly at their favourite bistro and when he leaves, Nikki calls some caterers to set up a romantic meal. He calls Lawrence and Carly at the hospital and tells them that he needs them and they come running. Carly is supposed to be meeting Bo at Wings but she agrees to stay for a while. What she doesn't know is that he cunning son has wound the clock back an hour...
