John and Victor head up to the Penthouse Grill for dinner. But oh-ho, Kate is there and she is waiting for Roman and Marlena. When they turn up there are pretty serious stares flying across the room and Roman is not entirely happy. Vic introduces Marlena to Kate who obviously doesn't want anyone to know that they have met before. Roman and the women sit down to dinner, but Roman is paged and has to disappear off to the station. Marlena asks Kate why she doesn't want anyone to know that they know each other. Kate is surprised she remembers but Marlena says she wouldn't forget one of her first patients. Kate tells her it was a long time ago and she would rather keep it in the past.
John has a drink with Kate and Victor and Kate observes that John seems nervous and keeps looking at the entrance (he knows Marlena is coming).
At the Alamain house, Lawrence tells Nicky that his mother is in the room. He says he only sees Carly. When Lawrence tells Nicky that Carly is his mother he gets VERY upset and doesn't believe it. When Carly tells him it's true he calls her a liar. Vivian comes out from where she was hiding watching the whole thing and comforts Nicky who then tells Lawrence he's happy he's his Dad but he'll never want Carly for his mother...
Victor questions John about why Roman seemed cold to him. John explains Roman is upset about his relationship with Carrie. Victor asks if maybe he is upset about John's relationship with Marlena...
Kate & Marlena talk about the magazine column and Roman gets called to the station. Victor notices Roman has left and suggests to John that they join the ladies...
Austin sits next to Carrie's hospital bed and as she sleeps he tells her how sorry he is and how he wishes he was the one lying there. Jonah and Austin talk about how expensive Carrie's hospital bills will be and Austin says he is going to find a way to pay for them.
Bo and Taylor talk at the hospital. He wants to set up a romantic night at the boat for Carly but also wants to visit with Carrie. Taylor offers to set everything up for him while he goes to visit Carrie. He tells Austin that he does not think Roman will stop trying to get him out of town and wishes him luck.
Kate leaves the table to go get something from her office, Victor leaves to make a phone call leaving John and Marlena alone. They talk about how upset Roman is and Marlena tells John that Roman wants to sever John's relationship with all of the Bradys. Roman returns and finds Marlena with John. He gets angry and leaves over the whole thing about them lying about Austin...Kate returns from her office just as Marlena leaves to go home to talk to Roman.
Bo finds Carly crying on the pier about Nicky. He tells her how much he loves her and that someday Nicky will feel the same way.
Taylor is at Lawrence's house. He orders her to continue helping him, this time to break up Bo and Carly...she is not happy about this.

Roman comes home after spending the night at the office. Marlena apologizes again for keeping the secret from him. She was trying to do the right thing but it was wrong, she made a bad decision and she is sick about it. Roman is really not happy talking about it - thinking that Marlena is trying her "psycho-babble" on him. He says it won't work, he is too hurt and too angry.
Sami, who has been sulking outside listening to the whole exchange, comes in with breakfast for Roman. She knows he has been working all night and thought he would like something to start his day off. Marlena asks why *she* didn't get any Sami tells her she thought she had already gone. She asks Roman if she can skip school for the day so she can be there when Carrie gets her bandages taken off. Marlena doesn't think it's a good idea and says so a couple of times but Sami pointedly ignores her. Roman looks at Marlena deliberately and then tells Sami it's fine. Down at the hospital Marlena goes to see Carrie in a sweet scene in which Carrie thanks her for always being there. Mar tells her she will be there later for the "unveiling". Austin is there and outside he apologizes to Marlena. She tells him that it wasn't his fault but also warns him not to take Roman's threats lightly. John also goes to see Carrie (after scenes with Rebecca which I can't bring myself to describe). He says he will be there also and Carrie tells him she doesn't know what she would do without him. Kate stops by Marlena's office and comments how many memories it brings back. She asks Marlena if anything is wrong and Mar says no. Kate of course can tell she's lying. They arrange to have lunch over at Chez Vous. That is of course the same place that John and The Thang are just about to arrange to have lunch....

Carly moaned to Jenn about something. Mickey brought round custody papers for Nikki which Lawrence got Viv to sign after an ultimatum.
Kate and Marlena get to Chez Vous but find John and Rebecca already there. Kate comments that it was odd that John didn't mention he was going there for lunch when she said they were going there. Marlena and Kate talk effusively about the past until Kate gets paged. Marlena pays for the lunch and has to go past John's table to leave. Rebecca stops her and says she is sorry about Carrie's accident.
Later John heads down to the pier where Abe finds him. They talk about the Brady's until Abe realizes that John still loves Marlena. (You mean there *is* an intelligent person in Salem. Trust Abe to always work it out). He is concerned for all of them and asks John what he is going to do. John says that he is going to do what he would have done days ago (or something to that effect)...
At the hospital, Kim and Phillip stress about the personalities not coming out. Mar arrives for her session with Kim and they decide to go the hypnosis route again. (Don't they always??) Anyway, Mar produces a knife and that brings Claire out. She tells Marlena that Kim is, to all intents and purposes, dead. She gets up to walk out and Marlena yells at Kim to fight. She does and she wins back control. (And they all live happily ever after)
Kim goes and John arrives, to tell Marlena that although he is obsessed with her, they have to stay away from each other...but she will never be out of his mind. He tells her that he doesn't like being alone and he has to find someone to fall in love with again, because until he does, he will never be over her.

Still in Marlena's office, John tells her he will keep himself real busy with work and away from her and the kids. Marlena tells him it's not that simple. Nothing will ever be that simple again. (No kidding!) John tells her they just have to try. She asks him if that isn't what they've been doing? Carly interrupts the conversation right at a good point to tell them Carrie's bandages will be coming off. John tells her that he will be there. In between however, he calls Rebecca and asks her out for dinner.
At the station, Roman offers Tim a deal to nail Austin.
Kate has dinner at Jenn and Jacks place. Alice and Tom are there for their anniversary and Alice recognizes Kate but can't place her.
Carrie's bandages come off. They tell her it's okay but outside they are all devastated. Carly says she will need reconstructive surgery. Roman finds out John has offered to pay for Carrie's medical costs and is really pissed. Marlena tells John that she and Roman will work out what is best. Roman makes out that he is surprised to hear loyalty from his wife. Marlena is very hurt and decides some time out is the best solution - she has been offered the chair at a psychiatric conference and will now go. Roman tells her to go do what she wants to do. He leaves and John tells her she can't run away. She says that she has to go and get things in perspective - to deal with the pain of losing him and to recommit to her husband. John agrees and Rebecca (the witch) comes up to pick him up for dinner.

Vivian wants to kill Carly. Nikki throws temper tantrums about going anywhere with Carly. Ivan drains the brake fluid out of Carly's car.
Billie gets talked into giving a deposition about Cash. Unfortunately Abe gets the news that it is too difficult to get the bullet fragments out of his chest.
Austin wants to marry Carrie. Roman gets Tim to cut a deal to incriminate Austin.. Roman tells Carrie that Austin is going to jail. Carrie begs him not to send Austin....and offers to make him a deal.......
