October 18-22, 1993 Updates
Monday 18th October 1993

Victor gets into Kate's office but Curtis gets under the desk. Kate doesn't tell Victor the truth about what's happened and she gets him out of there. Curtis tells Kate he wants money. What else? Kate asks him to give her a day so she can dispose of some assets to get the cash.
Bo tells Carly they have to go their separate ways and they talk about their past (yawn). Eventually Katerina turns up at the plane as Lawrence and Nikki are about to take off and they fly off into the sunset together.
Kristen goes to the library and pulls up ol newspaper articles on Stefano. She finds old articles about things Stefano did way back when. Later Billie and Kristen bump into each other and talk....yadda yadda yadda. Billie leaves and Carrie joins Kristen. More yadda. It's all yadda making. Carrie eventually tells Kristen that maybe she can talk to Marlena and *Marlena* can explain her reaction to Stefano. Wow! What a concept! Kristen heads back to the hospital where a nurse tells her Dr. Evans is on vacation.
Marlena decides that she's fine, that the baby is just kicking and she carries on making the tape. She has another contraction and decides to call Roman, but after another contraction she calls the captain of the ferry. However her battery is low and he can't hear her. Marlena hopes they heard but the captain (talking to himself) says that he wonders who that was and if it's important they'll call back later . Um no...... She tries again later as the contractions begin to get stronger but she can't raise any answer and when she looks at the phone, the battery is dead. She has an even stronger contraction and drops the phone.....
Tuesday 19th October 1993

Kristen questions Stefano again as she is having doubts especially since she heard him talking on the phone and saying that he couldn't let her find out. When she questions him he says it's about funeral arrangements. They talk for a while but it was FF fodder. Tom comes in and tells them that Stefano's disease is progressing rapidly. Stefano wants to know how soon. Tom tells them a few months. Alice comes and ties to comfort Kristen for some unknown reason and when Kristen asks where Marlena is, Alice tells her to go and see Marlena at the cabin. (Gee thanks Alice!)
Jo finds a private investigator to find Jack but Jenn tells her she wants to pull the PI off. Jo offers to take Abby home so Jenn can get some work done and Jenn accepts. She throws away a whole lot of Jack's stuff, ending up crying and shouting. Austin turns up and talks to her about it, she's angry at Jack and she tells Austin that it's over....she's cried her last tear over Jack Devereaux. Jenn packs up all Jacks things to either give to Jo or take to the hospital.
John turns up at the station and they talk about Kristen and Marlena and then Kristen again. WHATEVER FREAK. John then goes to the hospital. He looks for Kristen but he finds Stefano instead and John tells Stefano that he thinks that he is afraid of losing Kristen when she finds out all the things he has done. John leaves and Stefano calls Peter and tells him to get his butt to Salem. John runs into Alice and she tells John that Kristen has gone to see Marlena at the cabin.
Back at the station, they are setting up a sting operation in the North of Salem when Lexie has already told Jonah they are setting one up in the south. Roman tries to get hold of Marlena at the house to tell her he won't be home, but there is no answer. The message about the cabin is still lying on the floor...
At the cabin Marlena tries the phone again but realizes that it's dead. She's trying to convince herself it's a false alarm as she can't do this by herself. She hears the ferry whistle and goes outside but she doesn't get far. Kristen heads down to Smith Island where she finds Marlena outside the cabin. Marlena tells her she thinks the baby is coming. Kristen says that it's too early. Marlena says she knows it is. Kristen helps her back to the cabin and then takes off down to the ferry to see if she can catch it before it heads back to the mainland. However she gets back and tells Marlena that the ferry has already gone. Marlena says then they are stuck here until Roman comes. She has another contraction and gets Kristen to time it.
Wednesday 20th October 1993

Jenn decides that she is going after Victor to clear the Devereaux name. Kate refuses to give Curtis any money. Jenn and Austin pay Victor a visit and Jenn tells Victor she is going to uncover the truth about Victor's involvement. Jenn and Austin leave and go to a hill overlooking Salem where they talk about Laura. Back at the house Kate sees a shadow outside the window and sends Vic off to bed. She opens the door and Curtis threatens to go and tell Victor everything. Kate tells Curtis that Victor knows about her past. Curtis threatens to hit her and then says he'll fill in all the 'most interesting' parts that she left out for Victor. Kate caves and asks him how much he wants.
Ivan brings Vivian her clothes and other things, including a paper. She discovers Kate has a new position and decides that she has to get revenge on Kate now. She changes into her own clothes but gets told to change back into the psych ward duds. The nurse/administrator sees the picture of Kate in the paper and recognizes her from when she was there several months ago. She thinks it was odd that she used a different name and Vivian's ears perk up.
John decides that Kristen doesn't know the truth about Stefano and asks Caroline to look after Brady a little while longer while he goes to find her.
At the cabin, Marlena tells Kristen she may have to hang around to help deliver the baby. She asks Kristen to distract her and asks her about John. She tells Kristen that John is the most honest kindest man she knows and Kristen asks her if she's still in love with John. Kristen then apologizes. Kristen asks her about what Stefano has done and tells Marlena that Stefano has no reason to lie, he just made his final confession to a priest. Marlena tells Kristen that Stefano would lie to God himself and then she has her strongest contraction yet. John arrives and Kristen tells him Marlena is in labour. He asks if it could be a false labour and she tells him her waters have already broken, this is the real thing. John takes charge and he and Marlena talk as Kristen slips out of the room. She realizes that Roman must have never gotten the message and thinks that it's ironic that John is there and not Roman, seeing as he could have been the baby's father. John tells her he wanted to be the baby's father, but he's not. Roman is and that's the way it should be. They talk about Kristen and that situation and Marlena urges John to talk to Kristen. Outside, Kristen prays, saying that it doesn't matter who was lying now, was long as Marlena and the baby are alright. John overhears the last part and says to her that he doesn't know the DiMera's prayed. They argue again but Marlena's screams make John rush into the cabin. She has a really bad contraction and John thinks it's over but it continues. She grabs him and says that she's been here before, she knows what this means. The baby is coming.
Thursday 21st October 1993

Alan is over at Carrie's apartment, they have a biology lab together and are studying. Billie comes home and he leaves as Billie tells Carrie about Bo and Carly splitting up. Carrie decides that Billie should be the one helping Bo get over Carly.
Down at the pub Bo and Roman talk about Carly leaving. Roman thinks about calling Marlena to tell her about Carly leaving but then decides to let her rest. He tells Bo that he wishes that he (Bo) could be as happy as he is with Marlena. Bo tells him he deserves that happiness. Roman tells Bo that sometimes it scares him he's so happy, he doesn't know what he would do without her in his life.
Carrie and Billie arrange to go to the Cheatin' Heart and Carrie calls Roman and gets him to bring Bo over to meet 'her'. Bo walks into the Heart and tells Bo there's lots of memories there. Roman tells Bo that somewhere out there, there's a woman for him but Bo says that the last thing he needs now is to get involved. Carrie and Billie arrive and Carrie takes Roman aside to give Bo and Billie a few moments together. They end up slow dancing, thanks to Carrie's skilful manipulation. Carrie fights with Lucas and leaves with Alan so Bo offers to take Billie home.
Jonah and Lexie do a pacifier run but Lexie menages to leave a hand print on a window and they barely get away from Abe and Roman.
Marlena wants to push, but John won't let her. They go through several contractions but Kristen tells them that it's not time for her to push yet. John makes Marlena focus on him as she breathes through a contraction. Once again she wants to push, but they are not sure she's fully dilated so John makes her breath through the contraction. Finally Kristen sees the baby's head (could she be *any* more disgusting about it?) and John swaps places with her and tells Marlena to push. He encourages her and finally the baby is born. John tells her it's not a boy, it's a little girl. Marlena says 'he's a she?' Later Marlena is holding and talking to her little girl and John and Kristen talk. He tells her Marlena means a lot to him. Kristen can tell. They go outside and Kristen is warbling on about all the good in the world and John tells her to listen. She says she doesn't hear anything. John says that's just it, why don't they hear Marlena and the baby. Kristen tells him Marlena was exhausted, she's probably sleeping. John shakes his head and tell her that something is wrong. They go back inside and see Marlena sleeping peacefully. John smiles and crouches down, but as he goes to touch the baby, he realizes she's not breathing.....
Friday 22nd October 1993
(Thursday 4th June 1998 in NZ)
John takes the baby and gives her mouth to mouth. Marlena wakes up and Kristen tells her that the baby has stopped breathing. Marlena wants to help but she can barely walk and Kristen catches her as she falls. John eventually gets the baby breathing and hands her back to Marlena. Marlena tells him that it was right that he was here to give the baby life. Back at the house, Roman gets home and he, Sami and Jamie realize that Marlena is not there. Alice comes over in her robe when she sees all the lights on and tells Roman that Marlena had gone to the cabin and had wanted him to come. She tells him that Kristen may be there with her. Roman calls her cell phone number but finds it's dead and calls the forest service instead. They send out a helicopter to pick up Marlena and the rest and they call Roman from the air to give him the news. They all head for the hospital where Sami starts to get nervous about the tests they are going to run on the new baby. Roman suggests to Marlena that they call the baby Isabella and Marlena agrees. Sami isn't too happy when she overhears it but when they ask John he loves the idea. They toast to Isabella Brady. In the staff lounge, Sami tells Jamie that she switched the blood tests. Roman is not the baby's father, John is. Back in the bedroom, Roman holds the baby and then John...
In another part of the hospital, Peter arrives to see Stefano and arranges for Kristen's fiancée to come to town. When Kristen comes to see Stefano, they tell her they have a surprise for her. She turns around and the door opens. It's Tony DiMera, her fiancée.
Bo takes Billie home and they watch the tape from LA. He leaves and Billie is thrilled but Curtis comes back. He tells Billie he's in trouble and he needs somewhere to stay while he waits for a windfall. She wants to know what it is and he just tells her that it's money owing from an old friend. Billie tells him he can stay in the basement, but he steals they key to 3Dwhile she's not looking.
