October 11-15, 1993 Updates
Monday 11th October 1993

Jack lies and tells them it was a dead end and they don't know anything. Austin leaves and Jack and Jenn talk. Jack hypothesizes that what if the perpetrators were ignorant and Jenn tells him she can't believe that he's defending these people. She says she doesn't understand him and goes up to see Abby. They come back downstairs again and Jenn vows to get to the bottom of this. Jack tries to convince her that now that Abby is well, they should just move on with their lives.
Vivian calls Ivan needing help. Bo and Lexie try to track down Nikki. Lexie gets a call that Ivan is on the move and she goes to follow him. Ivan goes to a diner where Vivian is working as a waitress. Lexie calls Bo from outside the diner in Brookville and then goes into the diner.
Marlena freaks out when she sees Stefano. John is there for her and she clings to him as she becomes hysterical. Kristen watches her and then looks at Stefano. John tells Kristen some of what Stefano has done while Roman and Tom take Marlena away to a quiet room. Kristen says that John must be wrong and that she'll ask him about Marlena's reaction. In the other room Marlena is frightened for the baby's safety with Stefano around. They try to convince her that Stefano is sick and is being guarded very closely. In Stefano's room Kristen says that when Marlena looked at him, it was like she was looking at the devil (um, yeah). He tells Kristen that not everything that has happened to Marlena is his fault. He wonders if anybody has told her what Marlena did to him. She shot him at point blank range. He convinces Kristen that he is innocent of any charges that they might try to bring against him. Outside the room, John tells Kristen that Stefano is the reason that he has the name John Black. He explains a little of it to her and then she tells him she's not *really* Stefano's daughter, she was adopted by him. John tells her she's as brainwashed as he ever was and Stefano is using her. She walks out on him and goes back to Stefano's room.....
Billie promises Curtis she'll get him the money and she asks Carrie to release the checkbook to her. When Carrie gets out of the shower later, Billie tells her that Roman called and asked her to meet them and it was important. Carrie goes over to the house and they tell her that Stefano is alive. Carrie is shocked and Roman tries to convince her to move back home but Carrie doesn't want to. Austin arrives at the apartment and he and Billie discuss their lost loves and then Jenn. Billie tries to convince Austin to go over to Jenn's. (Oh yeah, she's not trying to get rid of you Austin!) He leaves and Curtis walks out of the bedroom and tells her he came up the fire escape. He tells her that Austin arrives back at Jenn's with some chicken soup and tells her that someone has to take care of her. Upstairs Jack talks to Jo and tells her that she is a good mother and he appreciates that. She asks him what he's going to do and he says he doesn't know.
Tuesday 12th October 1993

Billie turns up at the station where Bo is all stressed out about finding Nikki. She ends up giving him a shoulder rub but then pulls away from him and leaves.
Jack tells Jo that he is responsible for the toxic dumping and Abby developing aplastic anemia and then he leaves the house. Jo asks him when he'll be back and he says he doesn't know. He really doesn't. Jenn comes down and Jo tells her Jack has gone out. She says she's sorry and Jenn tells her it's alright, she'll enjoy having some time alone with Abby. She sits down with Abby and looks at pictures of her and Jack and flashes back to memories of she and Jack. Later she writes Jack a note and leaves it on Jack's night stand.
Jack meets up with Billie at the Cheatin' Heart and he tells her what has happened. He leaves and gets home and writes Jenn a note. He gives Abby Steve's St. Christopher's medal (pinning it on her blanket) and tells her he loves her and then he kneels by the bed where Jenn is asleep. He tells her no-one will ever love her the way he does and he tells her goodbye. He leaves the house without ever seeing the note.
Back at the Cheatin' Heart, Billie sees Ivan at the bar. She goes to talk to him and see if she can get any information out of him. She gets Ivan drunk on martini's and finds out where Nikki is being kept.
In the diner, the manager forces Vivian to serve Lexie. Lexie doesn't recognize her...or does she? Vivian thinks she may have gotten away with it as Lexie leaves and Ivan goes back in. Later down on the dock Vivian is dressed in a clack coat and hat, planning to stow away when Bo and Lexie turn up to arrest her. Vivian tries to convince Bo to let her go to buy him time but he is not swayed
Wednesday 13th October 1993

Vivian is fingerprinted and Bo admits to Abe that he hopes Vivian doesn't confess. But then he tells Abe that he will do whatever he has o to get justice, even if he does lose Carly and that once this is over he will help take Stefano down.
Billie meets Austin for breakfast and tries to decide what to do about her new knowledge. Austin heads over to Jenn's where Jo finds the letter from Jack upstairs on Jenn's dresser. Austin reads it out to them and in it Jack explains that he was the one responsible for the toxic waste dumping and that she need someone better than him so he's left. Austin wants to go find Jack but Jenn won't let him. She says if Jack comes back he has to come back by himself.
Lawrence tells Katerina that he is going down to the station to get her passport. She tells him she wants to go with him to see Vivian. They turn up and Lawrence convinces Vivian (somehow) to confess. They take Carly's passport and leave, just as Billie turns up. Victor and Kate head down to the station and find out that Carly is alive, just as Vivian is being taken off to be arrived. Vivian says that she will see Kate around, over a glass of chianti ;0> Lawrence and Carly are at the airport waiting for the plane to be fueled up when Billie arrives with Nikki. Nikki hugs her and tells her he can't believe she is alive. It takes a few minutes but finally she remembers him and everything else.
Marlena and Roman come into the hospital but Roman thinks she shouldn't be there. John arrives and Roman goes off to take care of some business, leaving Marlena in John's care. Marlena tells John that she can't stop thinking about her family with Stefano in town and she can't believe that Stefano is Kristen's father. Makes her wonder about Kristen's loyalties. Kristen walks in and they both turn to look at her. She walks off and then comes back with Stefano. Marlena can't bear being near him for long and John sees that she's pale. He offers to drive her home but she tells him she has a patient and she goes off to her office. Kristen asks John to leave her father alone, he's old and he's sick. She begs him, saying if she ever meant anything to him.... John vows to hound the old man to hell.
Later Roman arrives with the warrant for Stefano's arrest and tries to arrest him. However Kristen interrupts him and tells him to keep his hands off Stef. The doctor steps forward and tells them that in his opinion Stefano is too sick to be moved and he will have to stay in this hospital indefinitely. Marlena screams *NO* and John lunges at Stefano. Kristen pushes him away and John tells her she's just like her old man, trying to find every loophole. Stefano thanks her and says she is her fathers daughter. She looks at John and says yes she is.
Thursday 14th October 1993

Carly tells Lawrence that she can't fly to Paris with him and she tells Nikki that she has some things to sort out here, to understand before she goes anywhere. Lawrence eventually agrees and tells her that he and Nikki are leaving for Paris at 5pm tonight and he hopes that she will be there with them. Lawrence takes Nikki back to see Vivian to say goodbye. Later Bo comes in and tells Vivian she's going to Pinehaven psychiatric hospital for her evaluation. At the hospital, Vivian walks past Laura Horton's room.
Austin comforts Jenn over Jack and then tells her that Carly is alive. She's thrilled obviously and when Carly turns up she's ecstatic. Carly tells her she needs her advice, she's fallen in love with Lawrence all over again and now she has to choose. Jenn talks to her about it and advises her that a common background and common values should help a marriage. If only Lawrence hadn't done all that terrible stuff. However, Carly seems to think he's changed. Back at the airport, Nikki says that she has to come back with them. Eventually Jenn tells Carly about Jack leaving them and says that all these years she has thought that Jack has been in denial, when it has been her. She advises that Carly has to live for the now. Decide what she wants now and then do it. Later on, alone, Jenn breaks down and cries. Carly heads back to the boat to see Bo where she tells him she remembers everything.
Victor tells Kate the truth behind his acquisition of the Spectator and then he tells her he loves her. (Awwww!) Later he leaves the room and there is a phone call. Kate answers but the person on the other end breathes heavily and then laughs. She thinks it sounds familiar but she doesn't realize that it's Curtis.
Friday 15th October 1993

Roman wants to arrest Stefano, but Kristen tells them he is dying of an inoperable brain tumour. They don't believe her until she gets Tom to give them a second opinion. Marlena comes up and Stefano comes out of his room. He taunts them about their situation, giving them his best wishes on the new baby and comments that it's an odd situation, two husbands one wife. He thinks he saw a movie about that once ;0> Marlena tells him he doesn't have the power to affect their lives any more and he doesn't scare her. Tom comes in and tells them that he agrees with the diagnosis and that he believes that the prognosis is terminal. Roman leaves once Marlena insists and Alice tells her she knows that she's a little more worried than she is letting on and persuades her to go out to the cabin on the lake. *Then* Alice persists in trying to get John and Kristen to forgive each other. Stefano wants to convince Kristen to trust him, so he calls in a 'priest' to make a 'confession'. Turns out Stef is paying him to do this....the actor tells him he can't see *any* priest changing him, the devil loves him too much to let him go. Stefano calls Peter and tells him to get back to Salem.
Marlena calls and leaves a message for Roman to come to the cabin and meet her, but it falls on the ground so Roman doesn't see it. Marlena gets to the cabin and she begins to make a tape for the baby but she has what seems like a contraction.
John goes to Titan and asks Victor if he knows that this is the anniversary of Isabella's death. He tells Vic that he is having a mass said later for Icky and Vic tells him not to loose Kristen. (A big fat honking WHATEVER in here). Victor goes off to take care of something and tells Kate they can have a nice private dinner at home later. Kate goes into her office, not realizing that someone is behind the door. Curtis starts to talk and she whips around knocking the crystal vase that Victor just got her off the desk in fright.
Curtis pays Billie a visit and scams some more money off her saying he's going to get out of town. He tells her to go and see Bo and see what's happening there. However, he goes straight to a drug dealer and buys another hit, saying there's plenty more money where that came from. However he gets beaten up by the dealer and when he's on the ground he sees a picture of Kate in the paper.
Bo thinks Carly has come back to him and goes to hug her but she tells him she's not sure that this is her home any more. Bo tells her she understands she has doubts and she asks him if he doesn't have doubts. He says he has no doubts about their love for each other but she tells him that she is not sure that they are meant to be. He decides that they will do all of the things that made them fall in love to begin with and then they'll see what happens. So they dance and kiss but Billie sees them. They see Billie and thank her for what she did but she watches them go downstairs. Downstairs Bo and Carly kiss and sink onto the bed. Back at the apartment Billie thinks she's lost Bo forever. But Bo can't do this. He tells Carly he wants to make love to her but he knows it's not right. He thinks he's already made his decision
