Shane comes in and finds Kim dancing to "country rock". When he asks her why she is having all these changes in habits she snaps at him. She has another headache and reverts back to Kim just as Phillip comes in. She is sufficiently shaken to call Marcus and arrange an appointment. When she gets there she tells him that she has memory lapses and some headaches. He runs some tests but finds nothing out of the ordinary.
Marlena visits The Lombard's and while Stella goes to get Roger she finds the mutilated photo of herself. Roger sees her holding it and asks her how it got like that. Stella tells them that she broke the photo and when she was trying to take it out the glass ripped it. Marlena tells her it's okay, she'll get Roman another one. Then she gives Roger a form for an Arts Grant application. Stella isn't keen and tells Marlena that they have debts - if Roger spends all his time painting they're going to end up on welfare. Marlena says that they should talk about it and leaves. After she doesn't Stella tells Roger that Marlena hates her - just look at the way she went on about the photo. Roger tells her that he doesn't think that's the case. Stella tells him he's not paying enough attention to her. Later on Roger turns up at Marlena's office and tells her that he wants to replace the photo with a portrait. He thinks that if he can catch the spirit that is Marlena Evans that he can call himself an artist. She asks him if he's talked to Stella about this but he says no. She says that maybe he should but they are interrupted by Shane. Roger leaves and Shane tells Marlena that he is worried about Kimberly. He tells her about her strange and aggressive mood changes and new habits. Marlena says that it is worrying and tells him that she will talk to Kim about it. She sees Kim just as she's walking out of the lounge and asks her to come talk to her. They go to her office and Marlena tells her that Shane is worried about her. Then she is called away briefly and Lacey takes over. She decides that Shane has to go.
Jack calls Jennifer in NY but because he promised Isabella that he would not tell her, Jenn is left thinking that something is wrong. Of course she is right because Jack is a terrible liar.
In the previous episode, when Tim left after the dinner at Carries he kissed her and Austin saw them. Later on Austin was in his room trying to work out why that upset him. Today Tim asks Carrie out on a follow up date but Carrie is trying to find reasons not to go. Austin tells Tim to leave her alone. Carrie goes back to Ballistix and Roman comes in to see her. One of the other girls tells her in front of Roman that the boss said that she can't have a pay advance. Carrie is forced to tell Roman that she borrowed money from Marlena for the dinner last night. Later again Carrie tells Tim that she will go out with him. Austin has his own problems as he is informed that "she" has left and they don't know whether she is clean......
Marlena talks to Kim but Lacey is able to convince her that there is nothing wrong other than the fact that Shane may be a little jealous. As soon as she is out of the office, Kim has another headache and has no idea where she is. Later she goes home and back in Lacey mode calls Tarrington. She tells him Shane is itching to go out on assignment. When she comes back from dinner with Phillip later she is delighted to hear that Chief Tarrington has offered Shane a foreign and particularly lengthy assignment.
Phillip has finished putting the medvan public announcement together and sees that Molly has quite a presence on screen. She takes her out to dinner with Kim and tells her that a girl in one of his movies has had to pull out and he wants to fly her to Hollywood so she can screen-test for the part. When she talks to Tanner he tells her that he thinks she should do it.
Victor goes to see Vivian and tells her that he wants their affair out in the open. He offers to have papers drawn up to ensure support for her and Nicholas. However, she doesn't want their relationship reduced to a mere financial transaction.
John and Isabella spend their day at the park and when they get home, Jack turns up. He tells them his TV set is broken and he wants to watch Jenn. Afterward he calls her and then puts Isabella on the line. When Jenn tells her that she has to be there to help her every step of the way, Isabella can't bear to and has to give the phone back to Jack. Later on Jenn rings her and asks her if there is anything wrong with Jack. Isabella tells her she doesn't think so other than the fact that he is missing her terribly. In the evening Isabella tells John to go into the office and get some work done. He finally relents and she makes a list of things to get done. These include making a will, finding a nanny for Brady and making videotapes. She is asleep on the couch when John returns and quickly hides the list before they go upstairs to bed...
Victor gives Nikki a horse for his birthday and when he goes outside for a ride Vic tells her he's drawn up papers providing for her and Nikki, she now has a limited interest in the Kiriakis empire. She gets upset and tells him that she'd hoped he'd listened to what she said yesterday. Eventually she gives in and tells him that they'll do it his way.
Kim wakes up after she's been drinking. She picks up the ringing phone and it's Tarrington. He thanks her for letting them know that Shane is back on his feet and that he won't tell him it was Kim's idea. Kim can't remember any of it but she covers adequately. Phillip comes in and tells her he has to go back to LA tomorrow. And Shane tells them that he is going to take the ISA case.
Marlena turns up at the station and Roman thinks she is there to talk to him. He tells her he'll make time but Abe comes in and thanks Marlena for coming down. When she comes out of his office later, she hears Roman asking Stella to make a booking at the country inn. She tells him that she'd love to go, but she's just been away and she has too much work to do. Roman goes off with Abe and Marlena has to contend with some compliments from one of the officers. Stella overhears and Marlena goes to talk to her. Stella ends up telling her that nothing is going to change and that she knows that Roger is going to fall off the wagon again. Back in Abe's office Roman tells Abe that the only thing that got him through the seven years in jail was the hope that he would come back to his family - but now he's back, things are not the way he thought they'd be. Nothing's the same as it was. Abe tells him that one thing wont change. He and Marlena have a deep and abiding love for each other. At the hospital Marlena gets a phone-call from Roger he has a package from the Arts Council and he doesn't think he can do it. Marlena tells him she'll be right down. Stella pulls out some old cases to go into storage and asks Abe to go through them. He finds one of his where a man killed his wife but they could never prove it because they never found her body. Apparently she'd been having an affair. When he leaves Stella says that she knows how the guy felt. Marlena goes down to the studio and Roger talks her into sitting for the portrait. He does a sketch and it's beautiful. She shows it to her and she tells him she's never looked that beautiful and he tells her that he just paints what he sees. Back at Stella's she is trying on a new outfit she bought. But when she looks in the mirror, she sees Marlena in the same outfit in the background. She smashes the mirror and cuts her hand......
Bo is getting ready for work when Victor comes by. He wants to take Shawn-D to Nikki's birthday party. Bo isn't for it but when Taylor arrives he gives in. Of course then he has to explain to Taylor why Shawn-D calls Vic Grandpa. Then Taylor interrogates him about his family, especially Roman and his wife. On the way to the station he calls by Isabella's and she asks him to make it up to Victor as a last favour to her. Later on he goes to the hospital and tells Carly that he doesn't know if he can do it. Reminded of their upcoming wedding by a note from the caterer they decide to put the wedding off, yet again....
At the station, Roman and Taylor discover they get along and have a lot in common. (Taylor has a wee crush on Roman by the looks...) Roman is telling her about how he met Marlena when the Doc herself calls and tells him that they are having dinner with the Lombards tomorrow night because she wants to introduce Roger to Maggie who is the head of the Arts Council. Roman tells Stella and then she listens to the rest of his conversation with Marlena and then Taylor.
Lawrence and Lisanne are in Paris when he gets the story about Gerard and his heart attack out of her. He knows that she knows more than she is letting on, but she won't spill the beans.
Back in Salem Nikki's birthday party is at Johnny Angels. Shawn-D gives him a pirate's cutlass and he jumps on top of a small wall to play with it. However as he goes to get down he loses his balance and lands face-first on the deck....
