Carly meets Nikki properly and tells him that she knew his mother. He tells her that Shawn-D was telling him about their boat and she tells him he'll have to come visit some time. Then he goes off and plays a song on the piano which he dedicates to "the most fascinating woman I know". It's actually one of Lawrence and Carly's old songs too and Lawrence does his usual "stare at Carly" trick.. Lisanne, who is getting more and more drunk by the minute, sees this and "accidentally" drops a glass of champagne on Carly as she walks past. Carly retaliates by throwing her one back and they have a slanging match in the middle of Wings. Lawrence takes Lisanne home and berates her for her behaviour. When he leaves, Lisanne decides that she has to find out what there was between Lawrence and Carly......(well, now I know how Vivian's little secret is going to get out....)
Jesse tells Stella that he told Marlena where Roger might be. She runs out the door saying that she has to find him before Marlena does. At the warehouse, Marlena asks Roger what he's doing there. He tells her that he could ask her the same question. She wants to know what's so special about that place that he would spend his last night of freedom there. He says he'll show her. Taking the cover off an easel he shows her a beautiful painting. She is stunned and tells him that she can't believe he is so talented. He tells her he stopped painting because he had to look after his family. Then he started drinking a little and for a while he did some of his best work. Then as the drinking started getting heavier he lost it again. He tells her that he had dreams of being celebrated in the art world but they're all gone now. Marlena tells him that if he stops drinking and gets himself together he can get himself out of the trap he's in. At this point Stella comes in and tells her to ‘get away from my husband'. She thinks that Marlena meant that Roger was trapped in his marriage with her but when Marlena tries to tell her that that's not what she meant she takes Roger and leaves.
Marlena goes home and tells Roman that she now thinks that Roger *shouldn't* go to prison and she takes him down to the warehouse. He tells her that that's all very nice but Roger Lombard is a danger to society and maybe the nest person won't be as lucky as Kim. He agrees that it's tragic but that Roger still has to go to prison.....
I actually thought this was a very good, very moving episode. It gave a glimpse of the pain that Roger had suffered and also begins to hint at Stella's imminent breakdown.
Carly goes to the funeral of a little girl that she treated who died of a drug overdose. The girl Justine had an older sister who is pregnant but she tells Carly that she can't afford heath care and no-one in the neighbourhood can afford insurance. This upsets Carly who runs into Lawrence. HE apologizes again for Lisanne's behaviour the previous night but Carly tells him that isn't what she's upset about. She tells him about the girl and he tells her that he's sorry. She walks off. Meanwhile, Bo finds out that the jerk that sold her the drugs is getting of on a technicality and he decides to take care of the guy himself....(what a dork!). But Roman catches him delving into the police computer and tells him that if he finds out Bo has taken matters into his own hands, he won't graduate. Bo meets up with Carly later and they exchange their news.
Lawrence goes to Vivian's room and asks her and Nikki to move back in with him. He brings Nikki a present - a sailboat and he takes him out to play with it. Vivian later talks to Ivan and says that maybe it would be best to disappear off to Europe with Victor. She can't decide what to do.
Marlena tries to talk to Roman about Roger, but he won't listen. She calls Roger and asks him to meet her which he does, but Stella finds out about it. Marlena asks Roger if he still has the passion to paint and if he's willing to give up drinking and get his life together. He tells her that he is but it's no use now he's going to prison - no-one can change that. However, later the judge comes in and tells Roger and the court that after a long discussion with Roger's therapist Dr. Evans, he has decided that jail would not be in his best interest and he is sentenced to rehab, community service and probation. Roger is grateful to Marlena which doesn't please Stella. She tells him that she wants to go and take some courses near the rehab clinic so she will go there with him. Later she goes to see Roman who is really pissed off about the whole thing and tells him that she wants to go with Roger. Then she amends it to say that she's going to go do these courses so it will be convenient. He tells her that he's not sure that he believes her and she tells him that if he thinks that then maybe their marriage is in bigger trouble than she thought.
Phillip leaves for LA and Kim goes back to the hospital so that Marcus can run some more tests including a CAT scan. The tests show no problems but she tells him that the headaches are unbearable. He tells her that the neurologist thinks that they are from the head trauma and they should fade with time. He prescribes her some migraine pills and she takes them home. She is about to call the airline to make reservations when she gets one of the headaches and takes a pill.....
Carly tells Bo that she wants to set up a mobile Unit to go into the poor areas and treat those people without insurance. He agrees with her that it's a good idea. She meets with Isabella at Wings but before she can ask her if the Toscano Foundation will be willing to put in money, Isabella tells her all about John's problems and how Lawrence had to bail him out. She says that she feels sick that she couldn't help him because all the Toscano Foundation's money is tied up in projects. So Carly doesn't ask her. Also dining at Wings is Lisanne and Lawrence. Lawrence tells Lisanne to go and apologize to Carly for her behaviour the previous evening. Very grudgingly, she does, but she barely apologizes before she is fishing for information about Carly and Lawrence's past. Lawrence comes over too and Carly leaves, leaving her proposal lying on the table. Lawrence picks it up. Carly and Isabella go to the village and are talking about Lawrence and Lisanne. Isabella tells Carly that she's been having lower back pains but Carly tells her it's probably just muscle strain. It's only later on when she is talking to Bo that Carly realizes that she has lost her folder.
Roman tries to talk Marlena out of going away with Roger but they end up arguing and he leaves. She finishes packing and is about to go see Roman when Stella arrives. *She* tries to persuade Marlena that it's not a good idea to leave her family and her patients. Marlena tells her that roger is a special case and that she's going to do everything within her power to help him. Then she asks Stella to leave and she leaves too to go find Roman. Roman, after talking to Shane about it, tells Marlena that he understands if she has to go. They go home to "pick up the suitcases" and then meet Stella and Roger back at the Police Station. Marlena and Roger leave for the airport and Stella stays behind to tell Roman that she thinks that Roger doesn't *want* to give up drinking. Roman talks to Shane who asks him if he's jealous of Roger. Roman says not the man, but of the demands he's making on Marlena's time - time she should be spending with her family. Meanwhile, on the plane, Roger orders a double vodka. However, when the drink comes and Marlena offers to pay for it, he changes his mind and decides to have an OJ....
Lawrence gives Carly's file to Lisanne and asks her to transfer some funds and set up a trust fund for this project. He leaves and she flicks through it, finding Carly's name. Then she picks up a photo album and discovers Lawrence and Carly's pictures all through it. She tries to pump Ivan for information but he is tight-lipped. Lawrence meets Vivian at Wings but the meeting doesn't go well - John manages to persuade the board to retain their confidence in him and he proposes to take Ecotec Systems worldwide. He wants Isabella to be an executive for the company to change their image but she tells him that she'll think about it (she has more pains when she picks up Brady.) Lawrence and Viv are furious that John managed to outwit them again and Lawrence finally persuades Vivian to move back into the house. Meanwhile Lisanne (who is having visions of marrying Lawrence) decides that she has to get into the house on a more permanent basis. To this end she decides to make it look as if someone has broken into her house.
Kim is still having violent headaches. She is about to head for the airport when Phillip calls and tells her his plans have changed. He is flying to Germany and wants her to meet him there. She asks him if he would really mind if she didn't go - she'd really like to spend some more time with her family. He says not at all and to make it even better, offers to fly the kids out. She goes to the police station to talk to Roman and tells Shane the news. He asks her if she's okay and she tells him she is, however, she stumbles a little and he sees the pills in her purse. At that moment, Roman comes in and takes Kim off to dinner.
Bo's academy trainers decide to give him a second chance - he has major attitude problems and failed his orals. They decide to let him re-sit them but tell him that he has to change his attitude. he talks to Roman and tells him that he really wants to do this. Roman tells him that actions speak louder than words. Bo goes home and decides to prove to them all that he can change and so shaves his beard off.
Lisanne comes downstairs in the morning in a skimpy nightie and throws a few more things round. Then she calls Lawrence's, but she can't get hold of him. He is visiting Vivian who manages to persuade him to hire her as an Alamain executive for a weekly six-figure salary (!). She also asks for a $500,000 advance. HE agrees but says that she can only move back in if she agrees not to see Victor any more. She's not too keen about this and Lawrence suspects that she likes Vic more than she's letting on. Later she goes to see Vic and tell him - they end up kissing..... Lawrence goes over to Lisanne's where she tells him that a man with a gun threatened to kill her and locked her in a closet while he ransacked the place. Lawrence insists that she call the police and then asks her if there's anyone she can stay with. She tells him that she doesn't know anyone but him. He says it's not a good idea and she makes a comment about people misconstruing their relationship. He tells her that they are sleeping together, not having a relationship. She says of course, but some people could get the wrong idea. With this he changes his mind and when Vivian gets to the house she finds Lisanne there too. Great scene with them, both with their claws showing.
Victor offers Carly the money to set up the mobile unit. She refuses, but later confesses to Bo that she will accept him if she can't get the money anywhere else. He is not happy but eventually comes round to her way of thinking. She has just left him at the hospital reception when one of the physical therapists comes through and tells him that a man has Marcus hostage. Bo calls for back-up and Abe tells him to stay put. However, when he hears shots he races off to be a hero. When Abe gets there Bo has subdued the guy and saved Marcus. But he's in big trouble with Abe.
Kim tells Shane that Andrew and Jeannie are arriving this afternoon. He rolls off to the physical therapy room and works himself up a sweat for a while. Then when Kim brings Andrew and Jeannie (with a pretty bad case of SORAS - last time we saw her she was practically bald - now she has hair down to her waist?) to his place, he grabs his crutches and manages a few steps on his own......
