In an effort to take his mind off Jenn, Alice convinces Jack to ask WTGB to let him do a cross-talk segment on his own. He asks Arnie but gets the brush off. However another lady offers him a job as a reporter in a new program she's just putting together. He will be a crime reporter, travelling with police.
Carrie and Jesse get a phone connected but freak when they find the bill is $90. Later Jesse arrives back hone with a home entertainment centre. Carrie asks where he got it, thinking he stole it. After some probing he tells her that he was sent a pre-approved credit card in the mail and he charged it.
Molly calls for help but there is none forthcoming. She is about to go for help when Gavin Newurth gets up and grabs her. he tries to make out that she imagined the whole incident and that he will tell people she attacked him. He tells her that he won't press charges as long as she never mentions the incident to anyone. She reluctantly agrees Tanner takes Lucille's letter to Vern and Brian, proving to them that they were wrong all along. They are both devastated. Later he runs across Molly down at the pier. He can tell that something is wrong but she won't tell him what. She freezes as the professor comes down the steps and he tells Tanner that he had just told her that the nursing honours program was all full up this year.
The Lombards arrive in Marlena's office for another counselling session. (Mar is wearing THAT pink suit... :0)..) She tells them that this session is about family dynamics. She asks Roger what role he thinks he plays in the family. He says that's easy - he's the outsider. She asks him why he feels like that. He says that it's obvious that Jesse is not his natural son and that Stella has always taken their kids side against him. He ends up walking out. Later Stella comes back and tells Marlena that she's just had a call from her mother in Florida. She's very sick and Stella and Roger have to go down there, so they can't make the counselling sessions for a while. Marlena gives her some books on family dynamics to read but Stella leaves them behind. Marlena goes down to the docks to give the books to Roger and discovers that he is *not* going with Stella after all.
Roman arrives at Carrie's apartment and asks her to come down to the station to look at a line up. They have caught a suspect and think it might be a guy she talked to yesterday. Bo and Caroline meet them there, but none of them can pick anyone out of the line-up.
Gavin confronts Molly on the pier again telling her that no-one will believe her. Later she runs into Tanner who tries to coax the truth out of her. She won't tell him and he ends up telling her what he found out about his mom. She tells him that she understands how his mother felt because the same thing happened to her. He asks for details and she tells him, omitting the mans name. When he asks who it is she doesn't want to tell him because she thinks he won't believe her. He tells her that she's one of the most honest people she knows and he will believe her, whoever she says it is. She tells him that it was Professor Newurth. He starts off to find the man but Molly says that she needs him now so he stays and holds her.
