John accepts Vivian's offer to run the company. When she is gone, he calls up Victor and asks him to come over. He tells Vic about the offer. Victor is sure that they have an ulterior motive and tells John to be careful - they are unlikely to slip up. He heads over to the Alamain's in the afternoon to sign the papers. When he gets there Vivian tells him that she has had the papers triple checked by her lawyer. John asks if they would mind if he has his lawyer check them out. They agree. He takes them and has them copied and gives a copy each to Victor and Mickey to check over.

Marlena meets with Jesse and Roger at the courthouse. She tells Roger to take a look at his own behaviour if he wonders why Jesse behaves the way that he does. The judge tells Marlena that her report is inconclusive and she tells him she didn't see enough of Jesse to give a full report. She proposes that he put off sentencing Jesse and allow her to see him as a patient so she can give a full assessment. The judge agrees. Afterwards, Marlena runs into Carrie and they talk about Jesse. Carrie says that she understands Jesse because they both have families that don't agree on much. MArlena is surprised and says that surely Carrie can't think that their family has similar problems to the Lombards. Carrie finds Jesse down by the pier and advises him to 'play the game'.
Vic and John discuss the business proposal again. Vic has gone through the papers and says they appear perfectly legal, but there is bound to be a trap in there. Victor tells John that the offer from Vivian and Lawrence is a carefully crafted trap that will be sprung as soon as he signs the papers. The problem is he's not exactly sure what the trap will be. John calls Vivian and tells her that he'll sign the contracts. He takes them over and says that he wants to clarify a couple of things - like where is the balance sheet for the last financial year. They tell him they'll sort it out and he says he'll be happy to sign once they do. When he leaves Vivian says ³Damn!²
Scofield comes to spend the evening with Jenn again. She is totally convinced that Jack is having an affair, and Brian convinces her to have it out with Jack. She agrees and tells him that they have a lot of work to do. They head downstairs where they see Jack and Ginger sitting at a table. Jack had told Jenn he was going to work. In actual fact Jack is offering Ginger a job (to stop her from going to tell Brian she loves him). But when Brian and Jenn see Ginger hug Jack, they jump to conclusions. When Jack goes back upstairs Jenn retreats to her bedroom. Brian tells Jack that he knows what's going on with him and he needs to talk to Jenn about it.

Carly and Bo get a phonecall from West. He has set up a meeting between the parents of the child and them. They are supposed to be social workers doing a survey. On their way to the meeting they are run off the road and held at gunpoint by a robber. Bo does his usual heroic act and the guy flees. When they get to the motel, the people are gone and they get to the conclusion that someone was trying to prevent them from seeing the boy. Later the guy that ran them off the road makes a phonecall and says that it worked...
John meets with Lawrence (outside!). Lawrence offers him the keys to a luxury Range Rover as he is now the executive of an Alamain company. John declines, telling Lawrence he has not yet signed the papers. Meanwhile Vivian has gone on a fishing expedition to the loft. She tries to get information out of Isabella about whether John is going to sign the papers and if anybody is advising him. Isabella doesn't give anything away. Victor arrives and Vivian leaves (thinking that it may be Victor who is advising John). Vic tells Isabella that a messenger is about to deliver Leopold Alamain's Will to the loft. John arrives and they tell him the latest developments. The messenger arrives and hands Victor the will. They discover that Vivian has John's share of the money.
The judge calls Roman and Marlena and asks them to come down to the court. He has read Marlena's recommendations and has made a decision. She tells Roman that she did not recommend therapy for Jesse. He thinks she has finally come around to his way of thinking but she tells him that she's recommending that she takes the whole family on. He thinks she's mad and is worried that she's getting in too deep. He's worried about Roger (wrong Lombard Roman!). They go down to the courthouse (after yet another heated *discussion*) where the judge agrees with Marlena's assessment. Roger Lombard isn't exactly thrilled at the prospect.
West sets up another meeting between the kid, parents and Carly and Bo. To kill time until the meeting, Bo and Carly make out in their motel room (until the bed starts shaking). They bring the child in - he's a little dark-haired boy called Chris.....
