Jack and Jenn go to see Julie to ask her to help them keep the Spectator. She tells them that she'll help but they have to go and get the financial records of the company trying to take the paper over. Jenn manages to get them off Lisanne's assistant with a bit of a sob story. The records reveal that it is Lawrence behind the takeover.
Isabella calls Marlena and tells her about Carrie being at Lawrence's. Marlena calls Abe and eventually gets him to tell her where Roman is.
Carrie persuades Lawrence to go as far as kissing her. She tells him that she's here and wants to make love to him. He tells her that he's not sure that she knows what she's doing - perhaps they are going a little too fast and he's not sure if she's prepared for the moment. She tells him that he's wrong and she can prove it as she pulls out a condom. She kisses him and they lie back on the bed, him kissing her neck.
Vivian gets home and John bursts in after her, yelling Carrie's name. She tells him to get lost, but he races up the stairs.
Marlena finds Roman and tells him about Carrie. He tells her that he can't leave - he's on a stakeout. They argue until Abe arrives, telling Roman he can go.
Lawrence asks Carrie to stop and think about what she's doing. She launches herself back onto him as John bursts through the door. He tells her to get out of the bed and get her clothes on. She says no and how dare he come in like that. John tells her that Lawrence is scum and threatens to trash the place, and him. He lunges for Lawrence, but Carrie gets between them and tells John that it was her fault, Lawrence wasn't trying to seduce her. John tells her that she doesn't know what she's doing, she replies that she does and she loves Lawrence with all her heart, nothing is going to keep them apart.
Roman and Marlena get to Lawrence's and Marlena calls out Carrie and John's names. Ivan says they can't search without a warrant and Roman says he'll do it anyway.
John tells Carrie that She doesn't know Lawrence. She argues that she does - he's gentle and he's kind and he just needed to be with the right woman. (Oh please! Gag!) John asks her if Jennifer Horton was the right woman and then tells her that Lawrence raped Jenn. She doesn't believe him but he tells her that Lawrence did time in prison for rape. He tells her to get her clothes on and get out of there. She turns to Lawrence and asks if he wants her to go. He nods and she runs out. She gets halfway down the stairs but stops short when she sees her parents. She sits and buries her head in her arms, asking why everyone has to be there. Roman hisses the name Alamain and makes to go up the stairs. Marlena forcefully tells him no and tells Carrie to come downstairs. Carrie flies down into her arms. (This scene was *really* touching....)
Back at the loft, Isabella discovers that John took her gun.
John tells Lawrence that he will never, ever touch Carrie again. Lawrence insinuates that John is sexually interested in Carrie himself. John pulls the gun on Lawrence and tells him he's beyond salvation.
Roman asks Carrie what she could see in Lawrence. Marlena tells him to be quiet, they should take Carrie home. He tells her that she can take Carrie home, he's staying.
Lawrence tells John not to shoot him. John asks why not. Lawrence tells him that ‘you wouldn't kill your own brother’......
Bo and Carly arrive in Paris. Bo decides to get in contact with an old buddy of his - Roberto, to track down Goddard.
Roman tells Carrie that he loves her and then Marlena takes her home. Carrie tells her that nothing she could have said would have kept her away from Lawrence.
Lawrence tells John that he believes him to be Forrest because of the lockets and that coffin. Forrest drowned, but nobody saw the body. He tells John about the DNA test. John gets *very* upset and goes to shoot Lawrence, but is stopped at the last minute by Roman.
Carrie tells Marlena that she *knew* what she was doing, she's not a child. Inside, they discuss Jennifer's rape. Carrie doesn't quite believe it. Marlena tells her that there are two sides to Lawrence. Carrie says that she's going to bed. Marlena tells Carrie that she loves her so much’ and that she will always be there for here. (Another really touching scene. I really like Tracy Middendorf......)
Bo finds Roberto who goes off and finds a french floozy called Giselle who might have some information. She tells Bo that she'll try to find out where Goddard is.
Vivian comes into the bedroom and they tell her that Lawrence has spilled the beans. Roman and John leave and Lawrence and Vivian have an argument about it.
Tanner turns up at the Brady's where Marlena thanks him for letting them know about Carrie. Carrie comes downstairs. He doesn't tell her that it was him that told John, but they have an argument about Lawrence anyway. Later Roman gets home and tells them about what Lawrence said.
John gets back to the loft and tells Isabella about Lawrence's claim. She tells him that she still loves him even if he is an Alamain.
Giselle calls Bo - Goddard wants to see them tomorrow.
Lawrence gets a phonecall. The lab results will not be in until tomorrow....
Carly and Bo arrive at the park early to meet Goddard. Bo goes off to scout around and Carly sits on the park bench next to a kid. He introduces himself as Phillippe and tells her about his foster families. Later, she tells Bo that Phillippe made her realize how much she wants another child - with him, but she's afraid she won't be able to. Claude Goddard arrives and gives her her files, telling her they were mis-filed. He says there's nothing else but when Carly invites him to dinner, he tells her that he is going to the ballet to see *Giselle* and leaves.
Later, Goddard calls Vivian and gives Ivan the message that he did what Vivian demanded. Ivan reminds him that he is never to see Carly again. Back at their hotel room, Carly realizes that Goddard hates the ballet and that he must mean the woman Giselle (Duh!) They find her and she tells them that Goddard is very nervous and is being watched.
Jenn asks Julie to take over financial control of the paper.
Carrie calls Lawrence but Ivan tells her he is unavailable again. Tanner meets up with her at the college and he stops her from ringing Lawrence again and tells her not to make a fool of herself. They argue again. Later she goes to see Lawrence, pushing past Ivan and running up the stairs....
Giselle tells Carly and Bo that Goddard wants to meet them. He has something he wants to tell Carly about her baby. They go to Vivian's Paris residence, where Carly spent her pregnancy. While they are out in the garden, the caretaker rings someone and tells them that Katerina is there.
Carrie asks Lawrence to give her a straight answer - did he rape Jennifer? He tells her he didn't but she doesn't quite believe him and she leaves.
John and Isabella go down to the Lab for the results. They’re an hour away. John wanders over to the hospital where he finds Carrie. He wants to discuss what happened, but they end up having an argument. He tells her that he raised her like a daughter and he doesn't want her seeing Lawrence. She tells him that she'll see Lawrence, and if not him, than someone else. And if she wants to sleep with someone, she'll sleep with someone and there's nothing he can do about it. After John leaves, Jennifer comes in and Carrie asks her about Lawrence. She tells Carrie that Lawrence raped her and asks her to stay away from him, for her own sake.
Back at the lab, John calls Lawrence to tell him that the tests are in. When he and Viv arrive at the hospital they are all told the specimens come from two closely related family members, probably siblings. John leaves angrily.
Tanner gets home to his apartment and finds Carrie there drinking beer. They toast ‘not caring’. They get drunk and she admits to him that she's a big phony, but she doesn't know how to stop. He says he knows how and he tickles her. After a chase across the apartment, they end up making out on the bench. They are hot and heavy, when he comes up for air. Carrie tells him not to stop, she needs to be close to someone. He tells her she's drunk and it's the wrong reason. She runs out of the apartment.
Dr Goddard doesn't turn up at the appointed time and place, but he does go to see Giselle and gives her a package, asking her to give it to Carly personally. He tells her that it's the most important news Carly will ever receive...
John gets plane ticket's to Lawrence's homeland and he and Isabella decide to leave town after the baby is born. He tells Lisanne this and that he doesn't want any of the Alamain money. However, after talking to Shawn and Caroline, separately, he decides he wants to stay. Isabella agrees and he gets down on one knee and proposes, asking her to marry him, now.
Marlena goes to the Lombards once more. Only Jesse is there and she talks to him for a while. However, Roger Lombard gets home and tries to physically throw Marlena out. Jesse steps between them and ends up on the floor for his troubles. Marlena tells Lombard that she won't let him behave like that while she's there and she'll report him for child abuse. Down at the station, Schofield and Roman get a report of a domestic at the Lombards address and they race off to the rescue. Back at the Lombards, Roger is bearing down on Marlena...
Giselle contacts Roberto and asks him to go with her to give Carly the tape. While she goes off to get it, he calls Vivian. When she comes back, he tries to get the tape off her. She is saved by Bo and she gives the tape to Carly. They go back to the hotel and have a video player set up. On the tape, Goddard tells Carly that her son is alive....
