John runs into Lawrence at the village where he's donating money to the homeless. Lawrence tells him about what happened the day that Forrest died’. How they had been riding round the pool on their bikes and Forrest had fallen in. Lawrence just stood there and watched him and he's blamed himself ever since. He gives John a silver christening cup that belonged to their father when he was a baby.

Later Lawrence turns up at the christening and John allows him to stay. After the christening there is a party at the Brady's - for Brady's christening and also a good-bye for Kayla. Before she goes there, Kayla heads down to the cemetery to say goodbye to Steve at his grave. Afterwards she goes to the Brady's and gives them all goodbye gifts. Later, when everyone else is gone, Shane tells her to be happy and they kiss. He leaves and Kayla looks at the photos on the mantelpiece, remembering how it was with her and Steve. Then she takes Stephanie and leaves.

Victor visits the loft and tells John to be careful of Lawrence. He offers to join forces with John to Defeat Lawrence and Vivian at whatever game they’re up to. Later John tells Isabella that he might just take Victor up on his offer. He decides that Brady deserves to know his heritage and visits Lawrence to get info on the family. Lawrence and Vivian show him pictures from the family album and he has a memory of a little red wagon that Lawrence used to push him around in. Vivian offers John a company to run and John tells her he'll think about it. After he leaves, Lawrence comments that it's almost embarrassing to manipulate ones brother so easily. But he vows to do anything to keep John away from the Alamain money.

In the totally ridiculous Jack and Jenn story-line, Jack "hires’ Scofield" as a bodyguard’ for Jennifer in the hopes that she will be able to turn to him and maybe fall in love with him after Jack dies. (I really *hate* this story-line if you hadn't already guessed.)

Lisanne goes to see Lawrence and gives him her files on John, telling him that she's heading back to NY. He tries to dissuade her, but he can't.. She has a brandy with him and leaves. In the village she runs into Mickey, who tells her that he's looking at expanding and offers her a job. He also informs her that he's offered Rob a job too and he's considering it. She agrees to do the same. (What is this? Two supposedly hot-shot lawyers at the beginning of this whole thing are now looking at taking partnerships in some two-bit law firm run by a guy that's never won a case? Sheesh!)

The hospital carnival is up and running. Jack gets Schofield to pick Jenn up early from there. Meanwhile, he has installed a closed circuit camera which he hooks up to Jo's TV. He watches how Brian and Jenn are getting along. They’re getting along very well because they discover that they both play Rummy and have a game. Jack decides that they are getting along too well and bursts into the flat telling Brian to go.

Marlena stops at the station to see Roman. While she's waiting, she picks up some case notes on a guy called Flanders. She tells Abe that she wants to be assigned to this case. Roman walks in and tells her that it's not a good idea, he's a hardened criminal. They have another argument and he suggests that she goes with him to meet Carrie for lunch. She declines on the grounds that Carrie needs some time with him.

Carrie is at the village with Jesse who has a bruise across his face. He tells her to watch out for cops while he goes across to meet someone. The guy sells him a gun. Carrie asks him if its because of the gangs on the streets and he makes a comment about it being dangerous off the streets too. Just then Roman arrives for the lunch date and discovers Jesse's gun. He takes him to the station and books him, even though Carrie begs him not to. Carrie waits at the station while Roman goes downstairs and books Jesse. Marlena sees her and Carrie tells her what's happened, asking her to do something. Later when Roman tells Abe that he's going to put Jesse in jail Marlena comes in and tells him that that's not a good idea....

Roman arrives in the judge's quarters for the hearing on Jesse's case and is surprised to find Marlena already there. She explains that the judge called her and asked her to provide a psychological make-up on Jesse. Roman still thinks that he should go to jail and Marlena disagrees. The judge comes in and Jesse is brought in. He asks the couple for their opinion and they give him differing ones. They are interrupted by the bailiff telling them that bail has been posted for Jesse. The judge leaves, telling them that he wants a mutual decision when he comes back. Roger comes in to take Jesse home and is angry to see Marlena there. She tells Jesse that he doesn't have to go with Roger is he doesn't want to. He does end up going and Roman and Marlena have a huge disagreement on what should happen to him. Roman says she's becoming too involved and he never would have got her the job if he had realized..... He stops, realizing what he has just given away. She is furious at him for interfering. The judge comes in and agrees with Marlena's views on the case. He asks her to do a psychological makeup on Jesse. He thanks them for their professionalism and leaves. They resume their argument. She can't believe he lied. He promised her that he would not keep anything from her any more and that they would respect each other's work. Roman tells her he only did it because he loves her. She tells him that his love is choking her and that they will not discuss anything more to do with this case. She doesn't want him interfering in her work any more.

Carrie goes to the Lombard's to see if Jesse is okay. She overhears Stella telling Roger that she hates him. Jesse appears and tells her to go away and then goes into the apartment. After a brief but violent argument, he leaves again. Carrie tells him that she didn't realize it was that bad. Jesse tells her that that's nothing. Carrie tells him to come to her place and tells him that Marlena is really very easy to talk to. Jesse comments that next she'll be sticking up for her dad. Carrie assures him that she won't. He tells her that instead of arresting him, Roman should be figuring out a way to help put his dad six feet under. Carrie is shocked when she realizes he is serious.

Lisanne goes to Lawrence's and he gives her a gift of a briefcase, trying to persuade her to hang around in Salem. He tells her that he knows she doesn't like to lose. She says especially when it's her first case. (Hang on a moment. Wasn't she supposed to be the big city shark who had won almost every case she took.?) At the Carnival, Mickey tries to persuade her to stay. She tells Mickey that she'll need a little more time. After she walks off Tom tells Mickey that he can't believe that he would want to hire the person who attacked the hospital. Lisanne shows what a good sport she is when she agrees to be on the dunking sideshow.

Carly and Bo meet with a man Shane has brought over from Europe. He has been involved in black market adoptions for ten years and my be able to give them some information. They tell him the details and he disappears, telling them that he'll let them know if he can find out anything. Later they meet with Shane and he tells them that the man has some information for them. They head over to the village, where he tells them that he may have found the boy....
