Lawrence and Vivian try to decide what to do to prevent John getting his hands on his share of the Alamain money...
Isabella makes it down the aisle, although she is still having contractions. When the priest gets to the part about forever holding their peace, John stops him and tells Isabella and the congregation how much he loves her. They get to the vows, and Isabella is about to say I do when she has a really big contraction. Carly tells her she has to go to the hospital. Isabella wants to keep going with the ceremony. She says I do and has another contraction as John attempts to put the ring on her finger. Isabella gets his ring on but is having almost continuous contractions so John bundles her up in his arms and carries her off to the anteroom. She's in labour proper and they call for the ambulance, but Marcus tells them that she's 7cm dilated and they can't move her.
Marlena and Roman talk about when the twins were born and Roman tells her that he never saw a more beautiful sight than her holding the twins. Shawn and Caroline argue in the church and he accuses her of carrying on with Victor. She tells him she isn't and that this isn't about Vic, it's about them. Maybe they’ve changed too much. He storms out and Roman and Marlena talk about them and what they might be able to do to get them back on track.
Bo announces the fact that Isabella is going to have the baby in the church. They all begin to talk about Salem births. Bo passing out at Shawn-Douglas's birth, Shane and Kim in a cabin in the Wilderness, Mickey being delivered in a car on the way to the hospital, Jenn being born on a kitchen table in a farmhouse in the middle of a blizzard. Glynnis asks if anyone ever has a normal birth in Salem. Caroline tells her that Bo was pretty normal. Back in the anteroom, Marcus says he can see the head.....
Marlena tells Roman that a church is not exactly the ideal place to have a baby, but she's trying not to worry. She just hopes Isabella is alright.
In the ante-room, the baby's head is crowning. Isabella is exhausted but John is urging her on and she pushes.
Back at LaAlamain Lawrence and Vivian are still trying to decide what to do about John. Lawrence decides to go to St. Luke's.
Marcus tells them that it's just a few more minutes. She has a big push with lots of screaming and Marcus tells them that they are proud parents of a baby boy. Just then there is the wail of an ambulance. Carly takes the baby, wraps it and gives him to Isabella. Then Carly goes out and tells Bo about the birth and that she has to find her baby. They go out to the assembly and tell everyone that it's a boy. Caroline asks the priest to lead a prayer for Isabella and John and their new baby. In the other room, Isabella and John are having their own prayer.
Carrie leaves and outside runs into Lawrence. He asks her for a moment of her time and she gets into the car with him. He tries to persuade her that what she heard about him was lies. He asks her if the wedding didn't stir feelings in her Carrie tells him that there wasn't a wedding, Isabella went into labour. Lawrence asks her if she had the baby. Carrie tells him that she won't be his spy. She gets out of the car and says if he wants to know, find out himself, she never wants to see him again.
John tells Isabella that technically they are married, but as soon as she's up to it, they'll get properly married. Isabella tells him that that's not good enough. She wants to get married now. She and John have a *discussion* with Marcus about it. He ends up agreeing. John comes out to the assembly and is greeted by everybody. He tells them there will be a wedding after all.
Lawrence suggests to Vivian that they give John a company to run and then get him involved in something illegal.
Isabella is wheeled down the aisle on the gurney with her veil pinned to the end. They exchange rings and the priest gives the prayers for the final blessing. He pronounces them man and wife but Isabella has fallen asleep.
Everybody comes to see the baby at the hospital. Bo gives John some cigars and he passes them out. He introduces the Brady's to Brady Black. Carrie slips out and John is worried. Marlena tells him not to worry about her today. Carly takes Brady down to the nursery and bumps into Lawrence. Lawrence comments that Brady looks like photo's of him as a baby. He asks if he can hold him. She says no, she has to get back to the nursery.
Marlena takes Caroline back to St. Luke's. Caroline remembers when she married Shawn there. Roman takes Shawn there too and they hear Caroline. Shawn says he'll come back later. Roman brings him back and he and Marlena leave them alone. They end up making up.
Lawrence congratulates John on the baby, but John tells him that he's not interested in a reconciliation. Victor comes to see Isabella. and she lets him hold Brady. She tells him the baby's name and he says that it is a good, strong name. He asks if he has a middle name. Isabella says that they haven't thought about it yet. Then she tells Vic that if he promises to change, the baby will be called Brady Victor Black. He says he'd hate to promise something he couldn't deliver, even though he really wants to. She says that if he really wants to try she will.
Carrie gets home and shows Marlena the outfit she bought Brady and tells Marlena how cute he is. Marlena asks if she's told John how she feels about the baby. Carrie says she wanted to and also wanted to tell him about Lawrence. Marlena asks what does she mean. Carrie says that she's decided not to see him any more. Marlena tells her that every woman makes a bad choice in a man in their life. Carrie apologizes for hurting her and they hug. Later Roman comes home and tells Marlena that he went by the church and saw them coming out hand in hand. She gets a phonecall form Rob about the trial. She tells Roman that it's beginning to look as if the fate of the hospital is in her hands. She tells Roman that she thinks she'll go by the Lombard's first thing. Roman is not happy....
Marlena is going to the Lombards. Failing to talk her out of it, Roman decides to go with her. They have an argument and Rob arrives. He agrees with Roman. They go to the Lombards and Roman remains outside while Marlena goes inside to talk to Stella. She almost gets Stella to open up when Roger turns up. Roman can't stall him for very long and he bursts into the apartment. Roman and Marlena leave, but not before Roman tells him not to take his anger out on his family or he'll have him to deal with.
Jack is off to Wings to interview 'prospective husbands' for Jennifer. He sees Jo before he goes and she kisses him. He wipes her lipstick off his face with his handkerchief. He tells Jenn he's off to see the bank manager, but at the trial, Julie tells her that The Bank Manager is in Texas. When Jack gets to the trial, Jenn questions him and he maintains that he was meeting the Bank Manager. She gets upset and he gives her his handkerchief. As he goes to get some water, she sees the lipstick.
The trial starts and Lisanne calls Shane as a hostile witness. Kayla has a job offer from LA and Shane tells her to go...
Jack is still interviewing prospective candidates for the job of Jenn's husband. Meanwhile, Jenn is convinced that Jack is having an affair. Jack doesn't find anyone suitable till he spots Brian Schofield in Alice's.
Marlena is persuaded by Rob to try to get the truth out of Stella again, despite her misgivings. He tells her that Roger is to testify first. She arrives at the apartment and knocks. There is no answer, so she calls out to Stella, saying that she can help her. Eventually she gives up and tells Stella to look after herself. As she is walking away, the door opens.
Back at the trial, the prosecution calls Kayla, Chip (briefly back in town) and Carly to the stand. Lisanne cross-examines Carly and says that she couldn't find any record of her having studied at all. At this point, Rob produces Carly's records and the judge rules them admissible. Lisanne moves to close the trial and makes her closing statement. Rob stalls, hoping Marlena will arrive with some fresh evidence. He is just about to begin when Marlena walks in and begs the courts pardon. Rob asks that in light of the fact that he has not started his closing statement, that the trial be re-opened....
