Lawrence opens the crate but John can't see inside. Vivian urges him to open it but he just stares at it (the coffin). She makes him open it and they discover that the coffin is full of sand. Vivian says it's proof - Forrest did not die in the swimming pool all those years ago - he's alive and his name is John Black. Lawrence still doesn't believe it. In the security room - John is frustrated by the fact that he can't see or hear what's going on. Isabella offers to go to the window but he won't let her. After the coffin is gone, Viv is just about to go up to bed when Carrie arrives. John sees her but Isabella persuades him not to go out. Lawrence tells Carrie he's having a bad night and asks her to give him some time alone. He walks her to the door and John slips out the French doors. He catches up with Carrie at the Fisherman's Village and tells her that he knows she was at Lawrence's. She tells him that she was there trying to help *him*. John says he appreciates it but she has to promise not to go anywhere near Lawrence. She tells him she'll think about it. But she goes back to Lawrence's and asks why he was so upset. He can't tell her and she kisses him.
Jack and Jenn stuff also going on - they invite Lisanne to dinner to show her how terrible their life is and how they couldn't bear to lose the Spectator. She sees right through their little scam ....
Carrie tells Marlena that she's going to find an apartment. Marlena tries to talk her out of it, saying things are going to change soon. Roman comes down and Carrie hugs him, really happily. Marlena brings the twins out of the kitchen. He tells them that he was never far from them - he was Derek and Hazel. Carrie can't believe it and blames Marlena. Marlena takes the kids into the kitchen so that Roman can talk to Carrie. She tells him she's moving out and leaves. Later Roman Takes Marlena on a romantic picnic.
Carrie looks through the paper for apartments. Jesse takes her to see one on the riverfront. It's expensive - she didn't realize how much it cost. They go back to Jesse's and she sees a condom in his bag. She makes a slip that clues Jesse into the fact that she's not quite as experienced as she makes out.
Jenn tracks Carly down at the hospital and Carly tells her about the baby. Jenn is really sorry. Later Carly goes back to the boat and Shawn-D is making her a Mothers Day present. The phone rings - it's Dr. Goddard. He wants Carly to meet him in Paris - he has something very important to tell her. Even more important then the missing records....
John and Isabella go to see Gregory (Lawrence's henchman) in jail and ask him to tell them about the locket. He clams up, but later John gets a phonecall to say he's reconsidered.
Roman is told by Commissioner Samuels that he's been demoted to Captain Brady. (Which I think is just as it should be - it was totally weird that he came back after 7 years and stepped right into the Commander's job that John had worked so hard at!) He gets a phonecall from Kayla asking him to come over to the FishMarket. He does and it's a surprise party but Carrie sneaks out when he arrives. She goes to the village and reads her book - Carlotta of the Cape. She envisions herself as Carlotta and Lawrence as the hero.
John goes to see Gregory who tells him that a coffin was in the crate. When he goes back to the loft and tells Isabella, he figures out that it must have been a kids coffin and thinks back to the shocked look on Lawrence's face. (Come on John, 2 and 2 makes.....)
Carly goes to the hospital for the pre-trial meeting and tells Rob that she's off to Paris to track down the missing records. After the meeting Tom calls Kayla aside and tells her he has to let her go.... Chip tells Julie that he's leaving town - he's had a job offer from Boston.
Vivian tells Lawrence that they have to get proof one way or another about John. She decides on a DNA test and goes to the loft to talk to Isabella bout contributing to the Toscano Foundation. She goes into the bathroom and pulls some hair out of John's brush....
Carrie comes downstairs in an outfit that Lawrence bought for her. Roman wants to know where she got it from. They have an argument and she leaves. Roman tells Marlena that he hardly knows her anymore. Later, at work he has to get used to taking orders from Abe again. He goes home to tell Doc that he'll be on a stakeout tonight.
Carrie arrives at Lawrence's while he and Viv are waiting for the lab to pick up the samples. He gets rid of her, telling her that tonight will be for them. John and Isabella have Tanner watching the place and he tells them about the lab guy arriving. John goes down to the lab and finds out that they are hair samples. Meanwhile Isabella has a doctor's appointment - she's two centimetres dilated and the baby could come any time.
Carrie goes to the store and gets some stuff for the night - including some condoms. She goes home and packs an overnight bag. She arrives at Lawrence's when he's in the shower. Tanner calls John to let him know. Lawrence comes out of the shower to find Carrie lying on the bed in a very sexy black nightgown...
